Speaker 1 (00:00):
I was at home tonight. They're taking on the Dothan.
(00:03):
You know, I called them the Tigers all the time,
but they're the Dothing Woolves because this is a new
Dothing team. This is Dothing and now if you combine
anyway open like a Bulldall Coach Brian Moore is with
US DAWs, coming off of win last week over Pike Road.
They are now five and one on the season, looking
pretty sporty with a big game tonight at Bulldog Stadium.
Coach More, good morning, by the way, he's on the
(00:23):
Hamilton's hotline. Good morning, Coach Moore.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
Well, coch this is not coach Moore.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
I mean you know what, Buster, let me tell you something.
Let me tell you something like a long time No,
this is the idiot on me. He's after you and
I don't. We don't play attention to who calls. So
I just blew that segment. So let's start over, ladies
and gentlemen.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
The head coach of them Release Scott Warriors undefeated coach
Buster Daniel. How about that?
Speaker 2 (00:49):
Hey, that's all right, man. Listen, I've been called worse
coach coach more than nothing.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
Not too bad, that's terrible. I got a job over.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
There, good friend. You know, I think a lord on Brian,
but like that, I've been called a lot.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
Well, I got y'all back to back, you know how
it is on Friday. So my bad. How you feeling, coach?
Speaker 2 (01:05):
So man, I'm feeling good. I mean this weather, I'm saying,
this is my time of year. It's all cool in
the air. Football season, man, could be anything better?
Speaker 1 (01:15):
There you go? Now was it? And I'm trying to
think he did you go to the doctor and get
the cast offers that next week?
Speaker 2 (01:22):
Monday?
Speaker 1 (01:22):
Monday, Monday, Monday.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
I gotta go Monday. I hope, I hope they get
it all by then.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
Yeah, that's okay. I was just thinking because it it
don't look too comfortable on you.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
Man, It's not. It's not. Now you'll be as old
as I am and walk around on crutches. That's that's
a that's a pain and neck. But but hey, listen,
everything's gonna heal and I'll be fine. It may take
a little while, but yeah, thanks for asking.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
Yeah, okay, you had an open week last week, coach.
You're undefeated. You've traveled to Dothan and this week what
it next week? We'll worry about next week next week,
But this week, dope Davil on the road after open week.
What you're thinking, Well, I think.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
We got to go play a good football game. You know,
we're going in the hostelitary tory. You know everybody plays
he usually plays a little better home. We can go
over and make a bunch of mistakes and play bad
and expect to beat a good day team. So we
gotta we gotta play well, take care of the football
and just do at least got stuff, and then take
care of us. And I think we'll be fine. But uh,
(02:17):
you know how kids are. You never know what you're
gonna get. We hope, we hope we got the good version,
and I think our kids will be fine. Uh. You know,
I told you on Wednesday night that you know, our
guys are. They're different than what I've coached for twenty
five years. You know. Uh, they don't get all hyped up,
not a lot of screaming jumping around, but when the
balls kicked off, they're ready to go. So I trust
(02:37):
our guys and I think we're gonna be fine.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
All right, there you go. Coach Daniels and his team
is coming off a forty twenty opening season win over
Alabama Christian beat Poka thirty one twenty one, Childsburg forty seven, nineteen,
Bulus seventy to sixteen, Randolph County fifty eight thirty three. Coach,
you're scoring a ton of points. I mean, you were
racking it up thirty one, your lowest output against Polka,
(03:03):
and then you've scored forty. You've scored uh twice, you've
scored fifty, and you've scored in the fifties and I
fifties and you've scored seventy. That offense is something else.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
Coach, we got a lot of good kids deve walk,
you know, and it sounds like, you know, kind of
like a broken record. But you know, Brooks Zachery had
another great game the other night, like two hundred and
sixty yard Russian five touchdown. Max Hammer had had a
touchdown pass, a touchdown run about two hundred yards of passing.
Easton Gregor caught a touchdown. You know, the offensive line
(03:34):
opened up holes for us. Uh, We're we're doing things
the right way right now. Do we make mistakes, absolutely,
But when you're when you win and have things you
can correct, that's that's that's a good combination. But our
guys are playing really well. Still got things we can
we can do better, but but yeah, I'm proud of
our guys right now. And you know, we're scoring a
lot of points and our defense is playing well, so
(03:56):
that usually usually ends up in on the on the
good side for us. But yeah, I'm I'm extremely police
are our kid right now.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
Busher Daniel joining us at least got academy head coach
undefeated playing Dadeville tonight on the road. I forgot we
didn't have you on last week to talk about that
Randolph County game. That's a huge win against a very
good football team. Coach.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
Oh absolutely, Yeah, you know, a big region game and
one that we needed to kind of keep going towards
our goal. You know, main goal is making the playoffs,
and then you know the second goal over all is
the host of playoff game. That'll be first time in
history here at least got that in the AHSAA that
we've hosted a playoff game. So that's a huge goal
for us. And that was just one more step. And again,
(04:35):
our guys played extremely well. That was a very good
football team had you know, my my opinion, one of
the top backs in the state. Yeah, with the Winston kid,
he is, uh, he's outstanding. He's super fast, you know,
just you know, kind of example. He played the last
Friday night, played a half. He touched the ball four times.
He had one hundred and ninety five yard rushing two
now he touched four times. So I mean he is
(04:57):
outstanding running back. Our hours. Our defense did a good
job against him. You know, we didn't stop him. Uh
And I told you before we played, we weren't going
to stop the kid because he's a good player, but
we slowed him down for our offense to to finally
get a lead and stay there. You know. So a
great game for us, a big win again, proud of
our kids. They fought the whole time. And you know,
(05:19):
and and what came down to the end of the
game is was the difference was the special teams. You know,
our guys we got a break on a kickoff one
time and uh, you know, like I said, uh, I
think one of the bigger players of a game for us,
it was our a little ninth great kicker Thomas Carr Carmichael.
You know, he kicked the ball all over the field
on kickoff. The Winston kid that had zero return yard.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
Huge.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
You know, we kicked it to him last year and
he took it to the house. So that was one
of our our plan we had was get away from him.
Not all. They didn't touch the ball on kickoff, you know,
because we didn't have to. You know, they have to.
We have to allow them to hand it off on offense.
We can't do anything about that to try to stop him.
But uh, he didn't have to return kicks and Thomas
did a great job ball night keep it away from him.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
You talked about one of the best backs out there.
I'll take I'll take uh Brooks is it brook two? Yeah?
What is his number?
Speaker 2 (06:11):
Thirty thirty thirty.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
I'll take him any day, coach, I promise.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
You, Oh absolutely, I mean Brooks is He's got a
different kind of yards, uh than the Winston kid. As
you know, winch kid hits the seam, hit the sideline,
he's gone. You know. Brooks is running you know, through people,
around people, over people, and his I would like to
know when I'm gonna figure this up before next time
I talked to you, and through what his yat yard?
Speaker 1 (06:32):
Yeah, they'd be a lot, a lot.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
It's huge, it's huge because uh and he's got you know,
he's got somewhere around nine hnderd yards rushing. Again, it's
tough yards, you know, it's not the it's not to
get on the sideline out run everybody. So he's having
a great year. He's I think he's just like four
touchdowns behind the Winston kid. So he's having a tremendous year.
And I wouldn't train him for the world.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
I'll tell you this. The stats didn't come out this week,
but last week, well he didn't have any. Last week
he was in the top fifteen in the rushing yards
in the state, so they just stat So he's having
a sporty he's ringing up there with the good guys.
Speaker 2 (07:07):
Coach, So he's doing great. I'm so proud of him.
He works extremely hard in the all season.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
Yeah, all right, Dave for tonight, Coach, tell me about David.
What we got to do to beat David.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
One of the biggest things, like I said, we got
to take care of the football. We can't make mistakes.
Uh yeah, good football team, you know the rest of
the rest of our games or good football teams that
mean a lot to our season. But we got to
take care of the football. We got to tackle. Well,
they got a quarterback. This another outstanding player. Uh and
you know Davis m Kelby, that's the coach's son. Doesn't
mean anything. You know, he's a great football player. He
(07:39):
plays quarterback, plays safety, does the punting for him. Just
outstanding player. We got to contain him. They got a
couple little running backs again that can beach if you
let him. So they you know, you know, really good
football team. They're better at home, just like anybody is.
So uh, we got to go into the hostel territory
and play them there. But again, we just got to
(07:59):
take care at least got not have a bunch of turnovers,
not a bunch of uh what I call stupid penalties.
A lot of coaches call him that. Uh, you know,
you're gonna have penalties on every football play. They can
throw a flag every time he snapped the ball. But
we gotta we got to keep down the bad penalties
and uh, you know, just just play at least got football,
take care of the ball and uh and and be
able to tackle on defense.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
Everybody relatively healthy coaching playing Yeah, uh, you.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
Know we got washed. Johnson's been out for a while.
You know he's back up quarterback, and you know that's
coach William Johnson's son. He had a little knee tweaked
a couple of weeks back, but he's bag just not
one hundred percent. Uh. We lost a young ninth grader
named Joe King. He's having surgery next week on his
knee for to rim andniscus. Other than that, we should
be good to go.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
Good deal on the road. You haven't been on the
road much, coach, What second trip? Right?
Speaker 2 (08:49):
Just be the second trip? That's right.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
You got to get used to it. You got what
three more to go? So that's right.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
Four of our last five are on the roads, and
we got we'll be road warders for the second.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
There you go. Look are about that intro I had, Coach.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
Moore, that's nothing. I'm there, ain't nothing wrong with that.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
I don't never look at the We got caller id
D somewhere in here, but I never look at it.
I just roll. So there you go. All right, coach anything,
I know you junior high and your middle school, your
young guys probably are finished right well, No, no.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
Middle school teams. I think they got two more games. Peeweez,
pee Wee's got maybe three more. So yeah, they're still
playing so doing well though. The middle school played Buel
on Monday night and one thirty to eight. Good Peeweez
pee Wee's won. I think they played. They played good Greace.
I can't even remember. But they want two games other night.
(09:38):
It's coach games. But they won. Okay, so yeah, both
both of the teams are doing great.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
All right, good deal, coach Daniel, Thank you very much,
safe travels to davill and bring home that win.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
Okay, I appreciate it. Guys, you'll have a great you too.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
That's Buster Daniel, the head coach of the Least
