Big Week A Big Question.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
And Coach Braswell, good morning to you.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
Good morning, thanks for having me.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Yeah, thank you for waiting with us through that interview.
Right there, everything going all right with you going very
well good. You got your team rolling along just like
you like it. Before I go there, I want to
talk about your thirteen signees last week. You say one
of your best classes since eighteen.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
I do believe.

Speaker 4 (00:41):
Yeah, it's we're really excited about these guys. Coach Viniel
and coach Kurtz put together a great class. It's big class,
thirteen of them, and I think every single one has
the potential to come in and compete and push.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
Our team to be better. So we're really really excited
about those guys.

Speaker 4 (00:58):
Arener happy class think five rainers, two horsemanship girls, then
we've got one Western rider that's horsemanship and raining which
is a little bit different in that discipline. And then
I think five jumping sea girls. So really really good class.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
You coached all bout zion. I'll send right, yeah, yep,
it went.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
We couldn't be happier with it.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
So it's really excited. I believe you told me eleven
different states.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
Eleven different states. Yeah, they're from they're from all over.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
That is unbelievable. I was in here looking at it. Unbelievable.
No Alabamians those.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
The right Nope, not this year.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Yeah, that's all right, that's all right. So this is
this is a good class. How'd y'all get this good class?
Go get after it?

Speaker 4 (01:36):
I we did, and it was a talented class, just
generally speaking.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
And then I.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
Think I've got really great recruiters on my staff, and
I think we do we do good things at Auburn
and and I think kids can buy into it, and
we're excited to to get them here and help us
win championships.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
I would imagine you were well known in your questions
for the world in high school. Would that be right?

Speaker 4 (02:00):
Maybe?

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Hope, hopefully. I think I think Auburn is.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
I think Auburn's got a great reputation, and we've had
a winning tradition, and these guys are competitive, they want
to win, and they're not afraid of competition. I think
that's the most fun thing is watching our current team
help us recruit these classes, and that they want to
be the best too, and they want the best coming in.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
So it was it was fun.

Speaker 4 (02:20):
You know, it feels like a long process when you
get to signing day because you've had them committed, you've
known them for a long time, and then you finally
get to go through the signing process and it's exciting
for them and their families and exciting for us.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
Good deal. Now they'll get here in the summer or before.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
They'll report when school starts.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
Okay, okay, yeah, they don't have to they don't have
to come early.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Okay, we'll start.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
We'll start the first week of school.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
That's pretty cool. Yeah, all right, all right, now let's
get to business at hand. Big match one and two tomorrow.
Can't get no bigger than that. Let's just one in one.
But you can't have one in one coach, Yeah, well
I should say unless you win.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
How about that.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
It's a big one.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
We're really excited Georgia tomorrow Friday at three. You know
they're coming in. Think one where two. We have a
great opportunity in front of us. They're a really really
good team. It's gonna I think it's gonna be a
tight meat, but excited to have it at home. So
I encourage everybody come out and and cheer us on
before that high school football game that's happening. There you go,

(03:16):
come cheer us on at the Equestrian Center three o'clock,
admissions free. We'll have our kids activities, bouncy house, pony rides,
pet a pony, and it'll be a little bit different.
It'll be fun because we'll finish up under the lights
with the time change. So that's that's fun for our
student athlete, it's fun for the crowd, and then hopefully
we can get a big win against against Georgia and
finish the fall just how we want to.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
All right, and let me ask you this. How long
does the mate usually last coke?

Speaker 3 (03:39):
About two hours?

Speaker 1 (03:40):
So see plenty of time. Thank you.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
Right on over to ducktand for plenty of town. We
don't hear any we don't have any conflicts.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
It's free. It's not still out as a coach, so
we can get in there right now.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
Get in. Everybody can get in.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
Body and Gideon, so there you go ahead.

Speaker 5 (03:52):
You oh hey, you had two riders with them on
Sidney and Avery Glenn.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
Yeah, we tell them we're juniors.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
They are.

Speaker 5 (04:00):
Yeah, we got them another year.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
Yeah we do.

Speaker 4 (04:02):
They were sec a national writer in the month Sydney
and horsemanship, she's undefeated on the season. Avery and flat
she's undefeated on the season. She's also undefeated and fences.
So they both had stellars start.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
And we need them.

Speaker 4 (04:15):
We need them both to do their thing on Friday.

Speaker 5 (04:17):
All right, the let's say one from California, one from Arizona. Yep, yeah,
you were telling me about it. I was looking at
all the states of the new recruits New Jersey, Florida, California, Arizona, Colorado, Nebraska,
yet all over Yeah, I mean you just have to
reach out all over the country.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
Yeah, they and you know, they all do.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
They all compete at similar competitions, and so they travel
over the country to compete.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
So it's you.

Speaker 4 (04:43):
Know, we're not we're not having to go to all
these places. We see them all when they when they
compete at these national events, but definitely come from all
over the country.

Speaker 5 (04:51):
The big club events for high schoolers in the in
the country, are there more?

Speaker 1 (04:57):
Too many to know, there's a lot of them.

Speaker 4 (04:59):
I think the major championships is for Western it's going
to be the world Show that happens in August. Also,
the Courter Horse Congress happens in the fall, the Rainy derby,
the fraternity for the jumping seat. You've got your national
finals in the fall. And then also there's a big
circuit down in Wellington, Florida, in Okaala, Florida that happened,

(05:19):
you know, basically.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
January through April.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
So they're all kind of we try to get down
there when we can, but they're all kind of in
the same they're all kind of in the same place
at the same time. They're just they just their hometowns
are from all over the country.

Speaker 5 (05:32):
Well disperse and go to different ones, or do you
do you take you do you all go together?

Speaker 3 (05:39):
It depends.

Speaker 4 (05:40):
It depends luckily to everything's live streams, so we can
do a lot of evaluating remote, which is great. And
then we'll we try to get on the and we
try to get on the road together when we can,
just trying to develop those relationships and things like that.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
It's got to be hard recruit just we don't think
about I don't think about that like a question.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
Coach. You've got to get athletes in here, and you
got to go to them.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
Yeah, it's one of it's one of my favorite things. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (06:08):
Well, and I love showing people Auburn. I think that
that's one of the most fun things we get to do.
Is because these guys are from all over the countries
and some of them have never they've never been here.
For sure, they've heard of Auburn from an equestrian perspective,
but otherwise.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
I don't know anything about it. And then they get here.

Speaker 4 (06:23):
And they're just amazed by what an incredible place it
is and the people and the family feel and all
those things we talk about. I love showing it to
people and they, you know, they leave here feeling a
part of it.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
So it's one of my favorite things.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
What's the biggest two you have a recruiting coach?

Speaker 4 (06:38):
I mean, I think my staff's outstanding facilities. I think
that's what Auburn Athletics does to their student athletes, all
of those things. It's it's top notch, and it definitely
helps us sell what we.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
Do and conditions here and open.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
Yeah, and it's.

Speaker 4 (06:53):
Beautiful, it's a fun place to live, great college towns.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
So okay, well, when do you have most recruits? Mean,
just visit.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
And I'm able to meet. I mean, will they be
here Friday?

Speaker 4 (07:10):
No, we we try, we try to get things done
a little bit earlier in the fall.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
But it can it can be for next year already,
for next time, for the next cycle.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
No, when you starting it.

Speaker 4 (07:22):
We can start talking to them June fifteenth, after the
sophomore year, and we can start bringing them on campus
August first.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
Sound is that right? Just it never ends? Never, it
never ends.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
Hey, keep up with them, you know where you just
keep the go do your question, just like we.

Speaker 4 (07:37):
Follow results of competition, but things like that and who's
watch watch the live streams and try to you know,
we evaluate for years and then uh, just keep up
with that and help what their results are. And my
staff members you got so I've got three coaches with me.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
So I've got coach williams Heade, coach Meredith.

Speaker 4 (07:58):
Coach Maneely is our West d and coach coach Kurt
start Jumping Seat coach. And then got a director of
operations barn manager outstanding. And then I've also got our
club coach is on our staff as well.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
Oka.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
Lots lots of lots, but it ain't enough. I'm sure
you could use more. So you got a great operation.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
All right, wrap it up. Tell us about Friday one
more time, coach.

Speaker 4 (08:19):
Yeah, so Friday at three against Georgia one versus two,
close out our fall season. Admission is free, yep, lots
of stuff for kids, pony rides, bouncy house, pet the
pony lasts about two hours. Great family events. It is
