Speaker 1 (00:00):
Live.

Speaker 2 (00:00):
Here you go, and one of the coaches is alive,
is with us now. He's on the Hamilton's Hotline. Hamilton's
on Overra Tree, Hamilton's on Magno You're too fine places
to die. He's the head coach of the Auburn Tigers.
He's been with about sixteen weeks on Wednesday, and he's
live at the practice field right now. Keith thatther is.
Good morning, coach.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
Good morning. I'm hearing the music.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Oh well, let me get all that out of the way.
I always I always got that better. Now there we.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
Go, there we go. I'm saying that, saying all to
your buve I coach. I love that song. I love
that song. That's a good one. What's going on this morning,
budd Brother enjoying this nice Wednesday morning practice?

Speaker 2 (00:45):
There you go, boys, feels good to be still practicing.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
Oh absolutely, absolutely, always good when you're practicing, you know,
close to close Thanksgiving always awesome.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Yeah it is good win last week, coach just shut
out Daphney on the road.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
Yeah, it was great, great, great win for the program,
great win for kids, you know, community. It's just it
was it was good to go down there and get
that win. And you know, they're a really good football team.
And for us to shut them out, I think they
they was having thirty eight points game or something like that,
thirty seven point something like that, and uh, for us
to get man, shut it, go down there and shut

(01:23):
them out and you know, put up forty points. Its
just was was really good.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
Oh that was really good. I got my first well
the game start, I got a picture from Coach Salvay's
with you and him. I said, oh, that's good and bad.
That's a good picture. But that's world.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
It was great to see coach have you know when
I first started, you know, he was he was, uh,
he was just coming in. Well we had we had
of course coach Washburn and coach tav came in, and
you know he was great mentor great, great man, you know,
just an awesome, awesome person.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
You know, Oh he was. He was so proud of
se in that picture and because he felt like, you
guys are gonna win. He told me that. He talked
about it real quick. I had a couple of iss
want to know your thoughts on the three team? How
proud you are of the region to have three teams
in the final four.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
Coach, Well, it's awesome. You know, we've got three teams
in state, you know, it's still in it and the
semifinals you know, from all region, and you know all
of them are within twenty miles each other, I know.
So you know, it just shows that you know, we've
got there's good football down here, you know, and and
and you know it's a it's a testament to how

(02:38):
tough our region is. I still say, you know, teams
like Doping and Enterprise, you know, they're they're really good teams.
They're served to be in the in the in the group,
you know, uh, playing in the playoffs too. You know,
I don't know how far they would make it, but
I know I know for a fact that you know,
when we're playing in there in the season, it's like

(02:58):
a playoff game.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
So yeah, yeah, they had lasted further than the hustle
teams would have lasted.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
Yeah, they I mean really really good teams. Yeah, really
good teams.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
Well I think it says well, I'm sorry, meaning it
does love though, when when I got those texts, I said,
you know, I should have coached more of that Monday
but or yesterday. But yeah, that is true to have
three sitting here of the four, you know what I mean.
And you're in there with Tomas, so it's not like
in there were chopped livery of the fire the four
that's left a seven eight. So all right, that's a

(03:28):
little bit about more about who played well last week, coach.
I know you quarter went quarterback went down the second series.
Mister Pate came in, did a great job for you.
Who else played well for you last week?

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Oh, we had a bunch of guys played really good
defensive side of the ball. I thought we had a
you know, we played really well. Eli Scott played really good.
I'm twenty seven. Our defensive men, young defense men. He
came in. I think he had three or four sacks,
you know, had you know, Cornell Jackson played good up
inside him and him and King. You know our linebackers

(04:01):
Greg and Greg and Aiden and dast and they all
play well. And secondary guys did a really good job
of keeping two and four in front of them and
making sure they rally and tackled. You know, so really
proud of the differense side of the all offense side
of the ball. The offensive line played really good. You know,
we started off a little bit slow. You know, the
first series. They did a couple of things that you know,

(04:24):
uh bothered us a little bit. We made some adjustments
and and started started playing a lot better and you know,
uh actually got the running game going. Uh. J J.
Kean played really well, you know, like you said, he
played really well. Huff came in and gave us some
good carries. Uh. I think that. Uh all our receivers

(04:47):
played well. Tony, uh Josh ask you, Levi I, Kelly
cash Reeve, uh BJ Collins, you know, uh Hamp Hamp
bought really well from Tide of Musician. So you know,
just just really proud of those guys, man, really proud
of those guys. How hard they've worked. And you know,

(05:07):
we've come a long way to see that I turned
you at the first year. Then you know this is
gonna be pro process, you know, this year, and it
has been, and and our kids have really responded.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
All right, how's it taking us to Opalacca this week?
Coach semi final matchup? We've had two sellouts. We had
some sewd it out at least some more sold it
out some more.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
Yeah. Yeah, Well I tried to get on and get
just get two tickets just in case I needed a
couple for some guys and maybe coming right, you couldn't
get them. And well it was sold out in.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Three minutes, like was it three minutes?

Speaker 1 (05:43):
Three minutes? So that those times tickets out and you
can only buy two tickets.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
At a time if you were Oh they only allowed
two at a time. Huh.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
Yeah, So at least five hundred people got tickets.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
So five hundred pairs sod than three minutes. That's pretty good. Right,
where do you think, you coach? What are you thinking?

Speaker 1 (06:06):
Oh, I'm just you know, like like you said, it's
a big football game, you know, I mean over Black
albert Is already is always a big football game. Yeah,
it's always a big football game. And it's not a
regional game. If it's a region game, that makes it
even bigger. Now you're playing in the semipins bigger, you know,

(06:26):
it's but it's you know, it's it's awesome, you know
because you get to you get to play your sister school.
You get to play you know, these two schools, sister schools.
They right by each other. You know. Uh, these kids
have played against each other or together, you know, some
of them have played together for you know, twelve years.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
It is something it really is. You know what, It's
been a very clean game over the last few years
to coach.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
I like that absolutely well. And that's the way it
should be. You know, it should be a clean rabbit.
It would be you know, and these people and that
that's theF It gets frustrating when people get on the
internet they start trying to hype it up and make it,
you know, and and make comments like so and so
is gonna kill so and so, and they're gonna do this,
They're gonna, I mean, lett these kids go out there

(07:13):
and play football. I agree. I agree. Let these kids
go out there and play football, and fans are gonna
be fan. Yeah. Yeah, I can't do nothing about that.
You want it, you don't want it rolling over to
the kids, and you know, these kids need to be
focused and ready to go. And you know, I think
that that's what we want. We want to we want
to be a clean rivalry. Everybody, everybody be healthy at

(07:35):
the end, and the best team win and go play
Fort Tay Casship. You go where win. Let's go winnes
State here and there you go.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
This's'll be about forty five forty six plus years from
me even more to see the open like at Auburn.
Only a few times has there been instance. This is
in the first since you've been there, and since coach
Moore has been there, there's been Zilp's problems on the
Philis Cup. Two teams that get after it, just play
football and don't really pay it. They don't really get

(08:03):
into the ju can drive in on the field. They
just play ball, go back to the huddle, resnap it,
and play some more, you know.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
Yeah, and kids are gonna be exciting when they score
a touchdown. Yeah, that's another thing, coach, that's gonna happen.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
Yeah, we need to understand that.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
And and just just do it a class, do it
with character, and and you know, get over, get over
to the east sideline, have a good time, and then
then let's let's let's move off.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
All right, everybody's been talking about your quarterback. Coach, you
got hurt last week. You got to fine number two quarterback.
Ohp Like, I played with their number two and three
against you. Now they're at that their number three quarterback. Hey,
it's the next man up. Tell your situation on the
offense and defense.

Speaker 1 (08:42):
Well, you got you've got two kids who started at
the JB game playing of course, start the quarterback. There
you go. So you know, it's just it's situation. Know,
these things happen. You know we're talking about we're talking about,
you know, two teams that have played twelve thirty ball
games and you know twelve you know, as they played

(09:02):
Precision Game thirteen ball games. And you know you're gonna
get guys banged up, you know. And we we say this,
if if cases well to play, he's gonna play, you know,
if he if he ain't, JD is going there. We're
preparing j D right now, you know. And and we
have tons of confidence in JD. We we feel like

(09:26):
JD is a winner, you know, and he'll go out
there and give us, give us a chance to win.
And you know, and I promise you every one of
these guys will rally rally behind him. But if he's
the guy, is the guy. I mean, he's proven he's
a winner, and he's gonna go out there and he's
gonna he's gonna fight and scrap and do everything he's
supposed to do to help us win football game. Too.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
There you go. That's a good way to say it, coach,
There you go, has it been a good week for you.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
We've had a great way, we've had a great wing
and most of those like I mean, you know, that's
a testament to our coaches, you know. I mean you
you think about this coach Shaney coaches the quarterback and
you know, uh, Cason goes down. You know, a kid
that's got so much ability and he's thrown for over
twenty three hundred yards already this year, rush for over

(10:15):
five hundred and you know, unbelievable player, and he goes out.
That's the first series. Last week, we put a tenth
grader in, you know, and he comes in and just
as poised as pois can be, drives us right down
and we score a touchdown. So that's good, I mean,
and that's that's the testament to his other teammates too,

(10:36):
to believe in it. Yeah. Yeah, we're we're excited to
we're excited to be playing and we're excited to get
to play. Ok, Liken, it be a huge game and
sell out, and you know, there's so many blessings right now.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
It really is, it really is. What's it gonna take
to win the game?

Speaker 1 (10:53):
Coach? We can't turn the ball over, you know, I know,
We say that.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
All the time, but you can't.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
Yeah, no pre that's exactly right. No pre. We got
to cut down on pre. We can't have pre sap penalty,
can't have you know, little silly penalty. You know, uh,
when we put the ball in ends on it can't
come back. You know, we can't come back on a
little silly penalty or something like that. That's you know
that that kind of stuff kills you. You know, so

(11:21):
we we you know, we just gotta, we got to focus.
You know, Old Blacks is gonna come in. They're gonna play,
play their guts out. It's like our kids are, and
we just gotta, we gotta, you know, be ready for anything.
You get these playoffs and you know during the year,
you're more apt to run trick plays, do all that stuff.
And you know, because it's you know, it's if you

(11:44):
got another game. You know, when you get these games,
you you kind of just want to play football. You
want kids decide you want to give you your kids
an opportunities to just go out there and win football games. Yeah,
understand it.

Speaker 2 (11:56):
Man, don't get no better than this coach. I'll tell
you what. I hope you can enjoy the moment. It's awesome.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
We got some to and.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
Thompson twenty minutes from here, thirty minutes from here, and
then we got the Auburn and Oplaika, the one hundred
and first meeting at the Ducks, seven thousand of your
closest friends on top, including another thousand band and another
five hundred of folks like me wanning around down there
and ought to.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
Be It's gonna be great. It's gonna be an awesome night fit.
You know, regular Friday night at the Duck's great it
is you add all this stuff to it, it becomes
unbelievadb Look.

Speaker 2 (12:30):
You had a special night last week, Coach. I thought
you had a great crowd last week against Breaker. I
really did.

Speaker 1 (12:36):
We had a really good had a really good crowd
come down.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
Yeah, and look, I appreciate the way you treat me
over there. It means a lot to me with both
of me over there. I appreciate that, Coach, and I
look forward to being back.

Speaker 1 (12:45):

Speaker 2 (12:49):
