Speaker 1 (00:00):
McDonald is the head coach of the Lynette Panthers and
he is live. Good morning our.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
J Hey morning, Mark. What's going on all.

Speaker 1 (00:06):
Right, buddy, Good morning to you, Good morning. Thank you
for answering Friday night. I was glad that everybody was
okay in your team and the FED and appreciate everything
coach with that information Friday.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Yeah, man, yeah, absolutely, just uh you know absolutely, uh
just just thankful that everything was okay and everybody was okay.
So inside of the.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
Building, Yeah, kind of take us through what happened Friday night, coach,
if you will.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Yeah, just kind of at halftime and uh, you know,
it was about midway through and I think they're baying,
had just gotten off the field, and uh just uh
right outside of the stadium, there was some uh some
stuff that went on, and uh I think I think
that uh, you know, big shout out to all the responders,

(00:53):
the first spawners that got there pretty quick. I know,
we had our officers that were there with us. They
were you know, on singing as well, so just uh,
you know, it was outside of the stadium and you
know they did a good job of handling that, keeping
everybody calm inside. Not really letting anybody leave until they

(01:16):
kind of understood the situation. So it was just a
really good job by the little fed administration. Uh, they
did a very good job.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
But that yeah, it had to be. It had to
be a little chao and can't start with when you
hear dam fire. Had to be scary, coach.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Yeah, yeah, absolutely. You know, my thought process was make
sure we get all the guys safe in the uh
locker room, and then I went up and taking on
our sideline and you know, fans and everything else. I mean,
it was pretty chaotic scene. I mean, people running around
leaving and they're trying to leave and but it was, Yeah,

(01:54):
it's pretty chaotic watch even Mark it was. It was
a pretty cracking but ye.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Were we humans. That's what happens when you have something
like that happen. You gotta do what you gotta do.
But it doesn't make you not be chaotic, especially when
so many people was at the game, you know, but
it was not in the stadium and nobody inside the
stadium was affected. Is that correct?

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Yeah, that's great.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
Yeah, that's good. And they decided to end the game
right there. You guys were in command and control of
the game when you coach pretty much.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Oh oh yeah, uh you know it was part of
seeing nothing at halftime and we got the ball. You know,
we had the ball at the end right there, could
have you know, punched it in, but just out of
come outs, couldn't get couldn't get the clock stops. So
but yeah, it was, uh we were in control and
uh you know, just yeah it was. It was probably

(02:44):
the right choice by the administrations. Yeah, officials and all that.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
So yeah, I hate that, I really do. You go
to high school football game, you're not expecting stuff like that,
and I know it wasn't in the stadium, but dog on,
you know what I mean, like just real wash.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
Yeah, I just hated for he hated for the kids
that that we're gonna be able to get in Yeah,
you know, kind of not more so you know the
guys that start, but more so the guys that worked
hard and uh during the week and sometimes they might
not get the credit on a Friday night, but uh
it you know, it's yeah, I'd rather I'd rad those

(03:22):
guys be safe and and you know, a football game
continue on that was already pretty much in in in hands.
So but yeah, I just want to I just want
to say that I really appreciate these administration and uh,
you know they're they're first responders up there. They did
a very good job handling that situation.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
Well, that is good to see. Coach. Now, you've got
to get your team kind of poised together to get ready.
I know they had to scare them a bit too,
didn't it.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
Yeah it did. Uh you know that we handled it
pretty well. We got them on the bus and you know,
our our police officers that were with us got outside
of there real quick and safe. And you know, I
think I think our kids mentally were okay because I
mean they didn't see anything or weren't on the field
or nothing like that. You know, it was more so

(04:11):
you know, just kind of man, what was going on?
You know, they were more like trying to figure out,
I guess in their mind what was happening up there.
We were pretty good distance away from it. But you know,
just for us, I think it was more of the
kids just kind of being curious. It wasn't really necessarily
they were, you know, terrified, like they were up there,

(04:32):
you know what I mean. But you know, I know,
I know our fans are pretty pretty worried, but uh,
because they were up there on the near it. So
that's yeah, it was, uh, yeah it was. Our boys
are in pretty good mental shape.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Good.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
I don't think there's much from it.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
So good as far as both teams and let everybody's okay.
I tried to reach out to coach. I did reach
out to coach want Wims. I didn't get him. We
played phone tag but to check on him. But RJ,
I appreciate you, coach McDonald, good job, good Win. We
won't get into anything else right now. I just wanted
to make sure and let people hear from you. Let
everybody hear what happened, buddy, and I appreciate you taking
the call Friday and tonight. God bless you. Man.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
All right, yeah, man, I appreciate your appreciate what you
guys do. Man.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
Yeah, buddy, we'll be in touch with you.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
Coach.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
Okay, all right, you got it. That's r J mcdo
