Good morning, Ti Marks. How are you today?

Speaker 2 (00:41):
Excuse me? I'm good? Everything good, Everything is great.

Speaker 4 (00:46):
Did I hear us talking about last week's state championship?

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Yes, we were. We were just snipping through it. There.
You were there too, wasn't you? Ali?

Speaker 4 (00:53):
Yeah? I totally agree with Jeff. I think that Ophalika
really showed out and our crowd is certainty it's bigger
than Thompson's. Yeah, it did so very very proud of
our our community rally around these guys. And I twisted
about this, but I gotta tell you, our band just
brought the energy. They did your game, you know, from

(01:17):
the very beginning to the very end, didn't matter that
we got down. They were there, just bring that energy,
and I was I was really really impressed.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
You know what they've done that The games I've seen
Jamie nem have been more obviously, but they wear it out.
They don't stop. I mean the Harbor game. Yeah, they
don't stop. And I love that.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
You are right, it'll get to that other team too,
It'll get to him, you know what I mean.

Speaker 4 (01:40):
Yeah, even Todd we looked down and he's like, are
they allowed to play?

Speaker 5 (01:45):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:46):
They are, they are. That is unique.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
A lot of people don't think, you know, because you
can't do it in college, but they allow him in
high school and they do it too now. And yeah,
I'm glad you mentioned that, mentioned that, that's it, brought
that up. That's good stuff.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
I agree with you that.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
Yeah, very very proud. And then of course you know
we had we had reached out to UH coach Moore
and and Becky and said, you know, we'd really loved
Leonard Luz Whould really loved the boys to be in
the parade on Friday night. You know, this town's really
proud of them, and you know, everybody was exhausted. It
was quite a week last week, you know, between Thanksgiving

(02:23):
and then work for the championship on Wednesday, and then
you know, I don't think we got home until twelve
thirty or so Wednesday night Thursday morning, and then still
the like it was on Friday night, and so we
were all child But I'm really grateful the Spirit of
the South came and played in the parade. The cheer
reserved on the fire truck and the football team they

(02:45):
walked that entire parade route right in front of them
and got some great cheers and just you know, what
a season something.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
To be proud of, no doubt about.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
It was a very good season. We too played for
the championship and Opa Lacca was one of them. And
I'm glad you' there.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
You enjoy your seats.

Speaker 4 (03:02):
I did, I did, you know. I think that's a
great stadium.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
What we do, I love.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
I was very lucky to get to sit in the
in the street at the cifty Council and good it
was good, good, very very good.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Good to get your outside seat.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
I did gown myself. Now, just so we know, there
are fifteen outs.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
Like fifteen outside. Count put twenty four tickets, right, twenty.

Speaker 4 (03:27):
Four tickets fifteen outside. Yeah, but you know, but the
way that that door rolls up and you can pull
some of those high boid chairs right through the edge.
Really it was. It was really nice. And we decided
to go down apart way through the game and go
sit down with some friends and the regular stands and
got food. But it was, it was a great experience.

(03:49):
It was.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
It was I'm glad you were there, and I'm glad
you brought it up. What's going on? Tell me about
the hope? Like I heard, it went off without a hitch.

Speaker 4 (03:56):
Wow, s THECA was incredible. You know we say this
every year, but I think stunt like it was the
best year yet. Of course, weather was a stress doctor
and we were you know, we got all kinds of
comments throughout the week about how we should be moving
it and changing it. And you know, even EMA, they're
so incredible, they are so thorough and details when it

(04:18):
comes to weather. But as we all know, weather just
changes every single minute. Every single day it changes, and
so you know, a couple of years ago, we decided
to move based on weather, and we decided to move
a couple days before the event, and then we learned,
we learned the hard way. Hey, don't make that call

(04:40):
because weather can change so quickly. And so we decided
to wait until Friday morning to make that final call.
And I'm sure glad that we did, because it was
a perfect day. You know, it drizzled a little bit
on us during setup, but you know, Rita from EMA
called me about ten thirty and was like, Alli, it's
not supposed to re any rain until nine am tomorrow.
And so we had a perfect night. It was overcast,

(05:03):
that the snow felt even more real, little chili, but
still fifteen to reschooler than last year and or fifteen
to re warmer than last year, and great crowds for
a parade. Parayed last about forty five minutes, and I think,
you know, we got lots of comments about how how
great the parade was because we were very particular this year.

(05:28):
We were very clear we wanted everybody to lean into
the theme. We wanted more floats than ever before. We
really we didn't want to have a lot of vehicles
that were not decorated, walking groups that were just walking.
You know, we wanted we wanted the theme to be delivered,
and we wanted the Christmas spirit to be delivered. And
I got to tell you they did it. We get

(05:49):
a kid. The major shout out to stinsa Green Heat
and Cooling and Insulation. They're a locally owned organization. They're
big partners with Stone Martina Builders, but also just great
op Like the Chamber members, they do spray Folm insulation
in every Stonemarom home and and so naturally they're they're busy,

(06:10):
but they built a Christmas tree, a Grinch Christmas tree
out of spray fome insulation and arts, you know, spare
parts for HVAX supplies.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
And it was just so cool.

Speaker 4 (06:25):
They end up winning the top prize OPA first Class
pre K one second place, and those those teachers families
kids worked so hard. Every one of their preschoolers was
dressed up as the Grinch. It was so cute, absolutely adorable.
First Class pre K got seven Okay, okay, since the

(06:47):
Green got first ye and then hl Mando, who is
one of our largest employers, did a great job on
the work of their flow and they got third place.
There you go very broad. We had some other honorable
mentions like Big House Foundations, HG Erosion Control, HG Railroad Services.
They both were really fantastic, and a couple of others.

(07:12):
But I gotta feel like it was just it was awesome.
And then as the parade ended, it let the snowfall.
About seven fifteen, we kicked off our tree lighting ceremony
so that we lit that tree right around seven thirty,
and then the city Council help us with that switch
and Mayor Smith helped me pass out those trophies and
make an award to our Bryce and the Glenn our

(07:36):
Grand Marshall for the parade. He was awesome. He's of
course known as Cooking with Cheese Current and was the
Master Chef Junior Season nine winner last year, and he
was our Grand Marshall and we presented him not only
with a holiday cheermaster cheermaister sweater, but Mayor Smith also
presented him with a key in the city. So it

(07:57):
was just a really special night.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
We had a great sign We're good, I'm glad you paid.
The crowd was like.

Speaker 4 (08:05):
Everybody that was in the air said that the crowd
was larger than last year and we had twenty thousand
last year. Wow, you see, we just got Yeah, we
worked with a company called cloud Hopper who did all
of our drone work for us that night, and three
or four different photographers out there. Very grateful for all
of them, and so yeah, it was just it was

(08:26):
a magical.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
Night, good deal.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
I'm glad it went well op like a Ford I
believe it was part of that sponsorship, like the Forward was.

Speaker 4 (08:32):
Our presenting sponsor. And and when I tell you, I
was so impressed. So you know, Earl Hudson is he
was from Ford for about five years, but he's back
now and and you know he has really turned that
dealership around in a short amount of time because he believed.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
In the community community.

Speaker 4 (08:54):
He pulled up to the number one spot of that
pain in a fully decked out wrapped I mean front
hit back convertible that was wrapped with the Grinch and
O Black Afford.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
So like.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
In less than a week he turned it around and
was like, oh, I'm gonna make sure like instead of
just because you know, I want to throw a car
in there, he got a custom wrap job.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
Dor. Wow.

Speaker 4 (09:22):
I mean it was so cool and then he had
the grinch in the back of the convertible like it
was just it was so great. We're so grateful they
did an awesome job.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
Not that good for he is a good dude, a
good man. I called him a good dude. He's a
great guy.

Speaker 4 (09:37):
Yeah, great guy. We really enjoyed getting to know him
and grateful for his partnership. And yeah, it's been it was.
He definitely was a show staffer for us.

Speaker 5 (09:47):
It was at the great right what we got coming
up this week This week today is a recovery day
because I walked twenty three thousand mile or twenty three
thousand steps on Friday.

Speaker 4 (09:59):
So but we have a ribbon cutting on Wednesday, No.
Number tenth, and that is with Caliber Collision ribbon cutting
with the Oblaque Chamber. They're located on South College Street
in Auburn, So we're excited to celebrate with them encourage
people to come out and learn more about this auto
collision company on Thursday at ten am. The Obloqua Chamber

(10:24):
has a benchmark Physical therapy ribbon cutting and they are
also they are located on I think Fox Run Fox
Drun Parkway fourteen twenty nine, Fox Drown Parkway and that
ribbon cutting is at ten am. And then on Friday, no,
I'm sorry, on Thursday as well, our Opaaliking Young Professionals

(10:45):
group is doing a all in for oyp end of
year's celebration. We're doing a casino night party at the
opleaka Chamber for them. We'll be awarding our Young Professional
of the Year and just celebrating another great year of
the great experience for OPEL like a young professional. So
for folks who are under the age of forty five

(11:05):
that are interested in trying to find their place and
hope like to find their people. Hopeful like the Young
Professionals is the place to do it. You can learn
more at Hope like the Chamber dot com, and we
certainly encourage everybody to come out and get to know
some folks and see how they can get involved and
find their place.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
All right, Ali raptors Hope like a tamer tech going
over the week. We've got Thursday and then we got Friday.
This so we've got some senior helping senior ribbons Seniors
helping seniors, Is that right?

Speaker 4 (11:33):
You know, I don't know if that got canceled.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
Oh, okay, it's still on the stitu. I was just
looking at it through your calendar though, so you're good.

Speaker 4 (11:41):
Well, I might be right if it's on the calendar,
when then we're looking at different.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
Ones, so oh well, I'm just off the website.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
It says Senior Helping Seniors, East Central Alabama on December
twelfth at ten am.

Speaker 4 (11:54):
Morgan, that must just be something I missed it. Okay,
I seen my calendar. My dates were we're selected wrong,
So you're right. We do have that on Friday, Seniorselving Seniors,
and that is both an Auburn and opal like. It's
never ribbon cutting, but it is going to be hosted
at our buildings about coming under Cell sixth Street. Encourage
everybody to come out at sitting In for that. And

(12:15):
then on Saturday we also have a ribbon cutting because
it is the Victorian Front Porch short and that kicks
off on Saturday, so they've been decorating preparing for that.
But the walking tour is on Saturday evening and so
that kicks off at six pm, and so I encourage
everybody if you're interested in coming out and enjoying it.

(12:36):
The walking tour of course will kick off right beside
Harrietage House, so that's where we'll do the ribbon cutting,
and then on right after that you'll continue the walk
and enjoy the experience. And then there's also lots of
activities happening downtown. So there is a Victorian front porch tour,
pub crawl happening around our downtown bars and wine bars,

(12:59):
and so you come experience a pub crawl. People will
be dressed up. There will be different cross but each
to go pub cross spots, and I think o' like
the main Street is assisting with that. Friday night is
also Christmas in a Railroad Town, which is a Nople
like a main street event as well, and so that
is going to be held in downtown Ople like the

(13:20):
same spot as Noplelika. So there will be different activities.
You can visit like a main street Facebook page to
learn all about what's happening. And and then I think
it is also this weekend is Gosh Parks and ret
puts on a really great trying to remember the name
of it.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
Just the railroad track, though.

Speaker 4 (13:46):
Christmas in a Railroad Town is by main Street, but
the very Very Christmas website through the City of Obelka
has other activities so let's see. It is held in
Monkey Park. They transform Monkey Park. It's really great.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
Oh yeah, you come out the polar Express or whatever.

Speaker 3 (14:06):
There we go, yes, Rocket Rocket Post, Reindeer Express is express.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
Hey, it's well, we've been we've been. We've been calling
it out for five years. You know.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
I couldn't get it out either my bed Ally.

Speaker 4 (14:20):
Reindeer Express is this weekend as well, so folks can
come out. There will be different places where they can
like shop and enjoy some festivities. But what I tell
you is that Parks and Wrecked is an incredible job
decorating the Monkey Park. I mean, the lights are everywhere.
It's just it is adorable. So highly recommend you give

(14:44):
that a give that a look. And then also this
is the final week for Keep the Cheer Here, So
Keep the Cheer Here submissioned and on December fifteenth, and
so really encourage you if you have been shopping local

participating locations have really opted in. It's it's even as
