Speaker 1 (00:00):
Talk some football. Time to go to the Hamilton's outline.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Hamilton's locations on Magnolian Overtree two is fine places to dine.

Speaker 1 (00:06):
You know the story there. We love Old George and
Hamilton's on bag.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
No yeah. Brian Moore is the head football coach at
opel Like High School. He has another victory. His dogs
beat about one to I get Pipe Road Park Crossing
mixed up?

Speaker 1 (00:18):
He didn't.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
He didn't beat Park Crossing. His team beat Pipe Road
twenty four to twenty two at Bulldog Stadium Friday night.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Good morning, coach more. We'll let's start that again. Good morning, coach.
Well all right, I don't messed up again?

Speaker 2 (00:36):
Yeah you did. All right, let's see if we can't
get I don't know what's going on there, all right,
we'll see if we can't. Maybe this is coach right here.
We'll see if this is this.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
Coach Brian Moore, Good morning, Good morning. Did I knock
you off? Did I knock you off?

Speaker 3 (00:56):
No? No, that's good. I just called.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
Okay, good. I must have knocked somebody else off. It
was nothing.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Trying to get fine.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
How you doing, coach?

Speaker 3 (01:04):
I'm good? Are you?

Speaker 1 (01:05):
We're good? We're good. You have a good weekend.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
I did, got you.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
Yeah, anytime you get that win on Friday night, it
makes it a little better, doesn't it.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
It certainly hell for sure.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Yeah, yeah, Well, congrats on the win. Let's talk about that.
Twenty four to twenty two. Barn Bernard, Jeff and.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
I saw the second half at bulldof State a little
bit of the right at the end of the first
half and all the second half. We took a chip
trip to Chambers Academy to watch a half of them,
but we got the meat of your game.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
Coach. It was a goodie.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
It was Yeah, it was good. It was you know,
it was certainly you know it was it was certainly
a challenge. I mean it was a good team and
you know it was back and forth, and you know,
it wasn't perfect by any means. Didn't didn't play very
good early in the game defensively, but after the first
big drives really settled in and played extremely well. So

(01:56):
good to see. Were yet to play, you know, a
complete game, but still hunting that. I thought. Offensively we
were better. We ran for close to three hundred yards
in the game, so that was exciting. We had two
backs right at one hundred yards to get Johnson and
Jordan Waite and then with really high yards for carry
as well, So that was good to see. And then
you know, good to have Blake Johnson back. He had

(02:17):
fifty yards or so, and you know that was that
was big for us. So again, they're a really really
good team there. Everything we thought well they would be,
and they'll certainly make a run at sixth a.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
Yeah, you got out of there, okay, everybody, Okay, coaching
in the game, everybody get out, okay.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
You know, a little banged up, you know, Kobe Key's
a little banged up. Didn't didn't play the second half,
which is some kind of the story of our year
with with some injuries. Norman Matthews came out, but he
should be back. You know, we're still waiting, you know,
on on Kobe and kind of what's the you know,
what we need to do moving forward. But but yeah,

(02:54):
I mean, I you know, for the most part healthy.
We'll get our guard back, Jeremy Dillar this week. It'll
be uh, you know, it'll it'll be a slow return.
You want, you know, it's hard when you're you know,
big lineman hadn't played in a month, you know, to
come back and expect to play every snow, that's gonna
be a tall task. So but again, you know, everybody's
kind of nicked up like us. But it has been

(03:15):
one of those years where it's been, you know, something
after another. You know, each.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Week, Coach, you got to be proud of these close
games you're winning. I know that has to make you
feel good.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
Yeah, it's aging me. I can tell you that. You know,
it'd be nice to win one, you know, by a
couple of scores. So uh but yeah, I mean that's
what we're looking for. I mean, you know, we need
this team, you know, especially after what we lost last year.
It would take a little while to kind of you know,
get you know, get going and understand what it tasts.
But our kids, every week, really outside the Auburn game,

(03:46):
has found ways to finish games in the fourth quarter,
you know it. So really proud of that. I think
we've won three or four games by you know, three
or left points. It's just been a it's been a
crazy year. But again, we are finding ways to win
that and I've had people say, well, you could be
you know, you couldn't have a few losses as well.
But we don't, you know, And so you know, our
kids are finding ways that our coaches are putting them

(04:08):
in positions you know, at the end of games to
help them win. And and so please with that, we'll
have to play better now that we're back in region
play for the last four. You know, it's gonna take
all hands on deck, and so we're starting to get
guys like Bennett Young back into special teams. Last week
he played a lot of snaps offensively, which was big
to have, but we didn't ask anything you know, of

(04:30):
him on special teams. But it's gonna be required now,
you know, as good as Dothan is and you know,
enterprise sense, Ran Carver, you know, it's going to require
all our guys, and so met with our seniors yesterday
prior to our list and just talk to them about
I mean, de Mark gets crazy. We're already in game seven,
you know, unreal, and it's you know, it's flying by,

(04:52):
and I just I want them to appreciate, you know,
the moment and embrace it and you know, and and
and and just you know, play for each other in
these last four. So again, we'll need to play better
this week. But it was a big win for us,
good trout and a good night for football. Found a
way to win at the end.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
You sure did that, coach, anybody you want to mention
it played real well for you.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
Well, I thought, you know, you know whit Cooper came
in in the second half with kind of developing and
glowing up in front of us, you know, tenth grader,
you know, taking snaps for us and has taken quite
a few. Really good to see. I thought back to Bennet.
I thought Bennett led and you know, he didn't have
a lot of production in the game. We tried to
go to him on a big third down late and

(05:36):
didn't get it to him, but he blocked his tail off.
It was good to see Blake Johnson back. Like I mentioned,
that was huge brush. I thought our entire offensive line
played better. We continue to challenge them, you know, because
we think we can be really good up there. We
got you know, great size and now some experience up there,
so we're hoping that we continue to take steps forward

(05:57):
with that group. As I mentioned, I thought our defense,
you know, really, outside of the first two drives, played
really really good. I think they forced eight punts in
the game, which was good. To see. Uh, you know,
so a lot a lot of good things, still some sloppy.
We had two turnovers, which has been a thing this year,

(06:18):
which really that last year was not an issue at all,
you know, and so we were continuing to try to
find ways to clean that up. That's a that's a
reflection on me, and I've got to help, you know,
our kids understand the importance of the football. I mean,
it is obviously the most important part of the ball
game to take care of it. So we're we're continuing
to work on that and and going to start this

(06:38):
morning with a ball handling circuit that we're going through,
so uh, you know, and we got to tackle better.
That's the other part of that circuit. This morning, I
thought defensively, you know, we did a lot of good things,
but we didn't tackle as well as we wanted to.
And you know, obviously this week with those and you know,
if you misstackles or you let a guy fall forward
for an extra two or three yards, you know, that

(07:00):
means they're in a bunch of thirty and ones instead
of thirty fives. And that against this offense makes a
you know, incredible difference in being able to get off
the field, So we'll have to again play better, get
back to those fundamental things. I think a lot of
times as a season wears own, you know, people overlooked
at they get into skim heavy and that's just not
what we're gonna do. We're going to continue to focus
on the things that got us here and continue to

(07:21):
you know, teach our kids the right way to do it.
And so we're excited about getting back to work this week,
right more.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
With us soap like a bulldog football coach. Dogs having
a good season, one loss on the year, five and
one as they headed in the two week you game seven,
week number six coach, You're right.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
You hadn't lost the games ever close you want them.
That's what it's all about. That's good. That's the difference
between a good mediocre and a bad team, if.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
You know what I mean so exactly.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
Yeah, you put yourself in the position to win those games.
You almost made a big long field go too.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
We did, Yeah, rees, you know we you know, I
really need to do that more often. We hadn't had
that opportunity come up a whole lot, you know, where
we were kind of in that fringe area. So it
was a two minute scenario, and uh, great job by Wit.
It was in control of that drive the two minutes.
I think we got it back with about a minute

(08:11):
to go, maybe less than that. We had one time
out we had to use, but we got it down
to the thirty five. And so you know, we feel like,
you know, Reese has made a fifty seven yard stield
goal in practice, so we feel like, you know, he's
got the range to do those things, and so we
took a shot and hit the crossbar. I mean, he
and and what's crazy about how how special Reas is

(08:33):
is I don't think he really struck it well, you know,
which is insane to say, but we've seen him kick
those things, you know, even further. And so but it
was it was good to be able to try it,
you know. And and you know part of it the markets.
You got to you got to understand that, you know,
the protection's got to be there, and you got to
trust it. For me, like it's making that decision to
send him out there, because you get that block, you

(08:54):
get a stoop and score. It's catastrophic. And so really
good job by our front coach Fleming and coach around
and all those guys that have really worked with our
with our people to protect them. But Reese, Uh, Reese's
special and I'm thankful we haven't you.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
Mentioned it, coach, four games left talking to your seniors,
two home games, two road games, all four region games
Dothan at Enterprise, at Central and Carver tough Gauntlet.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
I'd like to see anybody match up with that schedule.
It's you know, and last year, you know, we won
three of those four. But we but we you know,
sort of ran out of gas last year, you know,
at the end against against Carver, and you know, but
again it's one at a time. We've got to play
really good.

Speaker 1 (09:43):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
You know this this schedule. You know again I've always
said this. You know, I knew what I was signing
up for. You know, our kids do, they understand the
region and the level of opponent that we play, and
so you know, we're excited. That's why that's why you
want to be in seven A, and that's why you
want to play in this region is you get to
play the best every week and that makes it fun.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
Shame on me, one of your coaching career. Shame on me.
I didn't even congratulate you. I'm sorry for.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
That not about me, d Mark. I appreciate it, and
I appreciate the the you know, the the Friday night
tribute deal. Did not expect that, but you know, a
lot of a lot of people involved in that, certainly
more than just me. So but thank you for that, den.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
Mary, You're welcome, well well earned and coach, we look
for what about this week?

Speaker 1 (10:24):
What you got planned this week?

Speaker 3 (10:26):
Uh, you know, it's it's finally we're really getting into
the routine of you know, practicing, you know, with having
these Friday games. I talked because yeah, throge about you know,
both of us played two Thursdays in a row and
that really man, you know, we're so routine oriented. I
know he is, and and our and our staff and
players that it was it was tough, and so getting
back to playing every Friday has made a difference so

(10:49):
that you can kind of go back your business the
same way. And so we'll practice this morning. We've got
a JV game this evening. Our ninth grade will be
at we Tomko Da will be home against Carver at
five thirds, and so we've got a little change in
schedule there. We're originally planning to play Stan Hopelmore and
so uh, they they could not make it. So Carver
was grcious enough to come back to us second time

(11:10):
this year, so we appreciate that. But and then you know,
Middle Middle School plays this Thursday, and so we're you know,
we're excited. Big week of football Youth league still rolling.
I watched Opal like a red and Ope like a
black play Saturday. That was good to see. I got
to see a lot of the twelve you kids and
ten you kids, so it's nice to start building those
relationships with those kids as well and those parents. So

(11:33):
a lot of football going on. We are definitely in
the stick of it right now. But it's a lot
of fun and you know, we hopefully another good week.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
Good did do we have any games we need to
talk about? Younger games?

Speaker 3 (11:45):
You know? Just uh just Thursday. I believe they're on
the road. I don't want to Coach Fergerson will straighten
me out if I'm wrong, and I'll make sure I
say it. But uh, but I think we're on the
road Thursday. I'll have to double check that. But again,
Middle uh jave we'll play home tonight at five point
thirty ninth raders on the road at we it's a
later start. It's like a six forty five start, so

(12:06):
you know, those kids will be back a little bit
later and we won't. But that we're kind of out
of our control there. But again, playing a lot of
football right now, and it's exciting to be able to
see all the kids in Hope I could play it.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
I'm sure it is. Coach, Thanks for your time. How
about this weekend, Tucker, have a good weekend.

Speaker 3 (12:21):
Yes, sir, I appreciate that. Yeah about about the uh
and and y'all singing boys? Pretty solid there as well,
So well we.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
Good coach, Thank you, no doubt, Go ahead, Jeff. That
took a lot of us now, yeah, I mean yeah,
that's what we're known for. Yeah, it is no doubt.

Speaker 3 (12:39):
Yeah, that's why I listened.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
I have a great day, coach, Thank you, all right,
you guys, and go dogs, Go Dogs.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
Brian Moore they head football coaches of O.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
Like his son, Tucker had a birthday party Saturday just
like games did, so hope he had a good birthday.
