Sterling and Lee. We've got another huge week Halloween Weekend.

(01:06):
I think of Halloween weekend, you know, trick or tree,
but I always think of and I've been to this
game three times the world and I will always call
it because I don't care about, you know, politically correcting
like they used to say, the Red River Shootout. Now
it's the Red Rivel Rivalry. No, it's always the Red
River Shootout. I'm gonna call it what it was originally called.
I always think of the world's largest outdoor cocktail party. Georgia, Florida.

(01:30):
Been to that game a bunch of times. I was
at how about this one? You ready for this lee
if you like to say, I was at in two
thousand and eight. It was Tim Tebow versus a guy
you might have heard of by the name, I'm Matthew Stafford.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
And now remember the.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
Year prior to that game, head coach of the Dogs
at the time, Mark Ricked when Georgia scored the first
touchdown AJ Green or no Sean Moreno, he let the
entire time team go out into the end zone and celebrate,
and they got a penalty.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
He did it on purpose. Okay, Well, Georgia won that game.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Following year, well they weren't beating that Florida team who
lost the season opener at home. The ole miss and
Tim Tebow came out and he gave that in passion
speech saying we will never lose a game the rest
of the year.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
Okay, they didn't, and in.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
That game, I want to say the final score was
forty nine to thirteen. What did urban Meyer do at
the end of that game lead with less than forty
five seconds left. Now we all know urban Meyer he
could be a little douchey, but you know what he did.
You talk about revenge, like Tupac said at the beginning
of Hail Mary, ain't a killer of it.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
Don't push me.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Revenge is like the sweetest joy next to getting I
can't say it on the air, but urban Meyer lee.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
He took all.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
Three timeouts in the final forty five seconds of that
game with a forty nine to thirteen lead to tell
Mark Richt, don't you ever pull that and crap on
me again?

Speaker 3 (03:02):
And he let him know. So I was.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
I didn't hate urban Meyer doing that. At the time,
of course, they were loaded. That team had the Pouncy Twins,
Jeff Dems, Chris Rainey, Riley Cooper, Aaron for future serial
killer Aaron Hernandez. They were I mean, David Nelson, Percy Harvin.
They were loaded. But Halloween weekend's always a great time

(03:25):
in football.

Speaker 4 (03:27):
Oh it is. And what's interesting, I do remember them
swarming the end zone and taking the pennant I did
not remember them using all their timeouts Florida. So that's
one of the few things I liked about Urban Liar.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
Right, Urban liar. You know what else I noticed too?

Speaker 2 (03:44):
I was on the sidelines that entire game, and I
was on the Florida sidelines. He kept pulling up the
grass at the Jacksonville Jaguars stadium at the time. I
don't know what it was all tel field, you know whatever,
redneck field, whatever it was called in Jacksonville at that time.
He kept pulling up the grass and then putting up
in the air and like tossing it up like Lebron

(04:05):
James does with that powder before NBA game.

Speaker 3 (04:09):
Is he doing that? He wanted to.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
See how the wind was blowing. And I learned from
that day. I'm like, oh, I asked, Hione, why is
he doing that? Goes he wants to see which way
the wind is blowing. So I learned a lot of
things being on the sidelines that day. But anyway, Lee,
I'll tell you what's scarier than Halloween weekend if you're
a power for college football coach. Three weeks ago, James
Franklin fired at Penn State. Two weeks ago, Florida fires

(04:34):
Billy Napier after he wins against Misissippi State this week,
actually two days ago, LSU after the governor, Jeff Landry
comes out and says that Scott Woodward will not make
the hire of the next coach. Well before that, they
fired Brian Kelly. This week, they fired Scott Woodward yesterday,

(04:54):
the athletic director who, by the way, Lee has cost
LSU in Texas A and M one one hundred and
thirty one and a half million dollars on buyouts for
both Brian Kelly and Jimbo Fisher.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
That was Scott Woodward. He is gone.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
I guess when the governor of the state comes out
and says the AD will not be picking the next
football coach, I guess that's a spoiler alert. You're gonna
get fired.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
Oh yeah, gotta look out for Ron de Saytas because
Mike Norvial could be next. That's one of them. There's
a bunch of other ones. Mark Stuufe, I think I
would say eighty five ninety percent. He's gone, probably the
same high percentage for Dave Dorn. I'm not so sure
what's going to go on with Bill Belichick, whether he
leaves on his own or he's gone. And then two others,

(05:44):
Shane Biemer and Eu Freeze. I think U Freeze is
almost certainly gone. I'm not so sure about Shane Biemer.
He might just go back to Virginia Tech where he
coached with his dad. But there is an interesting subplot
to this whole thing. Coaches being fired, and I say
that sometimes there is a boost, and coaches usually who

(06:05):
players don't like. And I'm talking about guys like Brian Kelly.
They play hard that next game for that coach, the
interim coach. Other coaches like Billy Napier, what I've noticed,
if you look at wins and loss against the spread,
may not get the boost. Why do I say that
Because Billy Napier was well liked, So more than likely

(06:26):
those coaches are just looking to find their next job.

Speaker 3 (06:31):
Oh yeah, and there are. And here's the thing.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
Not only will those jobs get filled, they're gonna be
coaches possible currently at positions that are gonna leave the
schools that they're at. So it's a domino effect and
that those schools are gonna have to look for their
next football coach. So it's crazy. It's the nil era.
So far this year in college football league, with all

(06:57):
the coaches who's been fired, Sam Pittman, you name it, that,
schools have spent one hundred and sixty nine and a
half million dollars on buyouts combined Oklahoma State with Mike Dundee,
all those schools, UCLA to Sean Foster, UAB Trent Dilford.
So we'll keep track of that, all right, Lee, You're

(07:17):
gonna start us off this week. Rock team favored our
underdog statement, you take it away.

Speaker 4 (07:24):
Yeah, I'm gonna look at a game here that at
one time, the line, the look aheadline on the Ohio
State Penn State game was get this two and a half.
Now it's up over twenty points, So why is it
so high? Obviously Penn State, prior to their coach, their

(07:44):
starting quarterback is done for the year, and people are saying, well,
Penn State is done, but they do actually have two
things working for him here in this game. And we
saw last year everyone counted out Michigan against Ohio State.
Penn State's quarterback Ethan Grunkemeier. This kid grew up right
near Ohio State. He was passed over twice for a

(08:06):
scholarship by the Buckeyes, and the biggest advantage they have
is Penn State defensive coordinator Jim Knowles. He was a
defensive coordinator for Ohio State women won the national title
last year. He knows everything on offense and defense inside
and out. He knows the personnel here. Penn State still
has talent. You're gonna see a ton of players drafted

(08:28):
from the second to the fourth round off this team
in the NFL Draft come April, and they got guys
like kate Ron Allen, maybe one of the top three
or four backs in the country. Good offensive line, still
a strong defense here. Two weeks to game plan with
a coach that used to be your defensive coordinator. Let
me grab all those points here. I think Ohio State

(08:48):
wins something like thirty to sevent team wrong team favored.
Penn State keeps you close here plus the twenty and
a half points.

Speaker 2 (08:59):
All right, I'm going to go to the National Football
League and I can tell you this because I've lost
a lot of money on this guy in the last
couple of weeks on player props.

Speaker 3 (09:07):
He killed me Lino this morning, anybody.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
He had an easy spot last week at home coming
off a horrible piss poor, pathetic performance on Monday Night
versus San Francisco forty nine ers who didn't have Fred Warner,
didn't have Nick Bosa.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
I'm talking about Bjean Robinson. Bjeon Robinson.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
Last week against the Miami Dolphins couldn't even get above
forty yards. Well, this week he's facing arguably the best
run defense in the NFL, the New England Patriots. Did
you see what they did last week to quid Shaw Jenkins.
He had nineteen rushing yards. They made Dylan Gabriel try

(09:45):
to beat him, which of course he couldn't.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
Falcons on the road in New England.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
New England, along with the Colts, the two biggest surprises
in the NFL.

Speaker 3 (09:52):
Patriots are in first place. They got it. I know
Drake London and Pennix are back.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
I don't care. The Patriots will hone in on Bijon Robinson.
I call him bj Robinson because he blows.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
He is.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
He's just a prima donna pretty player. He just doesn't
come through win his team needs him the most. He's
only gone over one hundred yards twice this season, and
one of them he did it against the piss.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
Poor Buffalo Bills defense.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
He went for a buck seventy in that game he
did go at Minnesota against a Brian Flores defense. Other
than that at Carolina seventy two yards, Washington seventy five,
at San Francisco forty and last week at home against
Miami twenty five. Give me Bijon Robinson under sixty four

(10:43):
and a half rushing yards on Sunday.

Speaker 3 (10:47):
What do you got nextly?

Speaker 4 (10:49):
All right, all right, so I'm gonna look at another
game in the Big Ten and you're saying, we know
what's going on with Kurt Signetty. Love to run it up,
love to acknowledge even what the point spread is and
take care of the boosters. And boyd, has he done
it the last couple of weeks, or at least try
to even kick the field goal late, try to get

(11:10):
the cover against Michigan State. Michigan State came back and
kicked their own field goal. So you know he wants
to run it up here. And that's why this point
spread is above three touchdowns. They're playing not at home.
We're a little bit easier to have big time blowouts
on the road at Maryland. Most people don't know Maryland.

(11:31):
But here's the biggest fact. I think that might be
able to keep this game close. Maryland number one in
the country with fourteen interceptions. If you have an extra
week to prepare, I think you have a better chance
not to win, but to keep the game close. Here.
So love what Indiana is doing for Finnando Mendoza might

(11:53):
have a chance to win Heisman. They might be the
best team in the country right now. But twenty one
and a half points, I think it's too much much.
Wrong team favorite now, not the wrong team favorite, but
they're the right team favorite. But I just think the
line's too high here. I'm taking the twenty one and
a half points. I think Indiana wins something like thirty
seven twenty three. Just think the line's way too high.

(12:15):
Take the Maryland terrapinc here.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
Yeah, and right now they're saying that the best freshman
quarterback in the country is Malik Washington from Maryland.

Speaker 3 (12:21):
So I like that.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
They had a you know, they were up three scores
against Washington late in the third quarter and then Demon
Williams went into a phone booth and turned into Superman,
and the Huskies came back and won that game.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
But Maryland, I like that.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
I like that a lot, all right, we're gonna stay
in the NFL since this is sort of the under well,
this is the underdog segment.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
I'm gonna go down to Houston.

Speaker 2 (12:44):
Texas and I'm gonna look at the team that I
got to see up close a couple of weeks ago
on Monday Night football here in Seattle against the Seahawks.

Speaker 3 (12:51):
Yeah, they lost that game.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
They were dominated because Mike McDonald is clearly, you know,
one of the best defensive coaches in the NFL, if
not the best offensive coach in the NFL. And I'll
tell you right now, Denver is coming in to h
Town to play the Houston Texans on Sunday. It's a
low number forty forty and a half depending on where

(13:14):
you get your action.

Speaker 3 (13:15):
But to me, in this game, I think it's.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
Gonna be a field goal game, and I know defense travels.
It'll check through down to George Bush International Airport in Houston,
and I think Denver's gonna go on the road. I
know Patrick Sartan Junior is out. I understand that, and
Riley Moss is there. That's fine, I get that. But
to me, I love when I see a defensive minded game.

(13:41):
I think that's what it's gonna turn into it's it's
a low number, and the lines are always sharper when
it comes to the sides of the totals in the
NFL then in college. So I'm just gonna to me,
I think you look at Denver, five of their eight
games this year have gone under. Houston, five of their
seven games have gone under. I'm gonna go under under

(14:05):
forty and a half forty one take the under on Sunday.
I think this game is gonna be very low scoring,
defensive battle. I know Sean Payton's gonna want to put
points up, but listen, Tamiko Ryans also a tremendous defensive
head coach, and Denver has one of the best defensive
coordinators in the game, Advance Joseph who used to be

(14:26):
their former coach, and he's done a great job. So
even without Patrick Sartanda, the reigning defensive Player of the
Year in the NFL, I'm gonna go under forty and
a half on that one.

Speaker 3 (14:37):
All right.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
Picking the Locks brought to you by FanDuel Sportsbook. Suquamish

show in the world MJ in the midday ten am
the one PM right here on Sports Radio ninety three
three KJRFM in Seattle, along with the best sports any
capri in America from Paramount Sports his website Paramount Sports
dot com, Lee Darling and Lee Before we get into

(16:02):
our blowout specials here, uh, this is you know things
now we are start to start to see here in
college in the NFL, this is the time of the year,
once you get to Halloween weekend.

Speaker 2 (16:16):
It separates the pretenders from the real contenders.

Speaker 4 (16:24):
Yeah, and there's some teams that start off really slowly,
like the Kansas City Chiefs and all of a sudden
they might be the best team in the NFL. And
and the Races.

Speaker 2 (16:33):
Hey, by the way, how about last last how about
last night not far from your house? The Baltimore Ravens
when they when Daddy came back. Daddy's back now Lamar Jackson.

Speaker 4 (16:44):
Yeah, so their team to look out for. So uh,
sometimes it's not how you start, it's how you finish.
And then there's other teams we're still trying to find out.
Are the Indianapolis Colts Are they really the real deal
here with Danny Dime? So you know, it's a long season,
seventeen games over eighteen weeks. A lot of things can happen.

(17:06):
I thought the best team last year was the Detroit Lions,
but what happened? They lost eight of their eleven starters
on defense by the time the playoffs starts, and you
just can't win in the playoffs with that many backups.

Speaker 3 (17:19):
No, no, you certainly can't.

Speaker 2 (17:21):
So, but the teams who can, like, you know, like,
look at this weekend, and we're gonna get to a
game that you like coming up the Bears and the Bengals.
I mean, you know, it looks like Jake Browning is
gonna be getting the start right now because Joe Flacco
is all banged up dealing with that ac joint sprain
in his throwing shoulder. And Jake Browning, who I mean,

(17:42):
he's the reason they have to trade for a forty
one year old quarterback in Joe Flacco. So now he's
getting the start at home lead that's a game that
you like and blowout specials. But I will say one thing.
I look at the Chicago Bears. I think they're one
of the biggest frauds in the NFL, along with the
Atlanta Falcons.

Speaker 3 (18:01):
I don't.

Speaker 2 (18:02):
But in this game in particular, this is a game
you're Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
You can ill afford to lose.

Speaker 4 (18:10):
Oh, they lose this game. Their schedule coming up, they
I think they might have the toughest schedule down the stretch.
This is a must win if they want to have
any hope of making it, even as a wild card,
so very very important game. What was interesting about Jake Browning.
I thought he was doing a good job when he's
come in the last couple of years. I don't think
it's come out. I think something's going to eventually come out.

(18:32):
He lost the trust in his team. You watched the
offensive line, and sometimes it's not what's spoken. You just
looked at their eyes and they just didn't believe in them.
And when a lineman just doesn't believe in his quarterback,
they're done.

Speaker 3 (18:47):
So there'll be.

Speaker 4 (18:48):
Something that comes out. There's always things that are going
on behind the scenes in the NFL with injuries. You know,
last year Kirk Cousins was injured, they ended up not
even mentioning. It ended up coming out in the show quarterback,
so the Falcons didn't get fined. But it's always leaked.
You know, all these guys eventually start talking and it's

(19:11):
going to come out with what happened with Jake Browning,
and who knows, you know, maybe something went out when
they went out for some beers or something one night.
But it certainly does impose well here for the Cincinnati Bengals,
going forward.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
All right, So here we go blow out specials Lee
you start us off Bears and Bengals.

Speaker 4 (19:32):
Yep. So that's one of the reasons that I like
this game. Another reason here is I think that the
Bears are one of these teams. It's very opportunistic. What
they're doing is they're always taking chances. They're cornerbacks, they
try to jump routes. Their linebackers always going for the strip.
Now once in a while ends up costing the tackle.

(19:54):
Guy gained some more yards here. But that's one reason.
The other is the Bengals defen So I've watched the
NFL now going back to the mid sixties. I thought
last week the Bengals defense, they had five leads of
two touchdowns or more, was one of the worst that
I've ever seen in my entire life. So what happened

(20:18):
the coverage was awful. Al Golden, who some people had
been praising, Uh, maybe he should go back to college.
He probably more set for that game. And and well,
not as a head coach, as a as a coordinator,
you can't be that high a position for what he's
done his resume. But but they didn't even want to engage.

(20:39):
I mean there was guys that didn't want to tackle
and coverage. I thought some of the technique was some
of the worst I've ever seen. I mean, this was
like a Division three team trying to play an NFL team.
It was that bad here. So Cincinnati one of those
teams a just year after year they don't address their needs.

(21:00):
They ended up taking defensive tackle from Texas A and
m down in Miami where he grew up. What has
he done? Absolutely nothing. So I'm going to take the
Bears here. I think they win this game here something
like twenty seven seventeen over the Bengals.

Speaker 3 (21:16):
They better. I mean that that is a game they
can ill.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
Like I said, there's no way you're Ben Johnson and
Caleb in that division with the Green Bay Packers and
what they Look at the win that they had on
Sunday night at Pittsburgh and then Detroit Lions. Who are
you know? They're doing what everybody thought they would do. Yeah,
if you want to actually be a true contender in
that division, you can't lose to the Bungles with Jake Browning.

(21:40):
You know, Joe Burrow's not walking through that door. If
he was, they're the Bengals. But with with Jake Browning.
They're at the Bungles and our our producer of the show,
Lee Christopher Kid, we do this thing every day in
the show called Factor Fiction and yesterday and I wasn't
really familiar at that time with you know, Joe Flacco's status.
So he took the Bengals plus the points at home

(22:02):
and then he goes but it looks like Jake Browning
will get to start instead of Joe Flacco, and I
just wait. I'm like, no, Like, oh, kid, no, you
have a chance to change your pick, don't do it.
And Hugh Millan was listening live, you know from Sports
Radio ninety three to three kids, Hugh Millet said, by
reaction to fighting out Jake Browning starting over Joe Flacco

(22:25):
was absolutely priceless. So I'm like, boy, that is uh,
that's like going thinking you're going on a date with
Melissa McCarthy. Excuse me, think you're going on a date
with Jenny McCarthy and ended up with Melissa McCarthy.

Speaker 3 (22:38):
You know, that's steps Wark.

Speaker 4 (22:40):
Here's what you can do. Here's the best thing to do.
Mark when that happens. If you have a bet one
side and you're almost sure you're gonna lose it. If
the line's still the same, just bet the other side
take the ten percent loss and call it a day.

Speaker 2 (22:54):
Yes, yeah, you're absolutely right on that. All right, we're
gonna rock and roll here. Coming up next, I'm I'm
going with my blowout special here. We're going to Saturday
tomorrow in college football. By the way, this show will
be replayed according to Purple Sheet our boss Rich Moore,
supposed to be at eight in the morning, I believe
tomorrow local time in Seattle so on Sports Radio ninety

(23:18):
three to three kJ R at them so tomorrow we're
gonna go. I love this game. I saw it as
far as soon as the lines came out. The Midshipman
of Navy are headed on down to Denton, Texas to
face the unt North Texas Mean Green. We saw the
whooping that they put on earlier in the year on

(23:39):
Washington State and Jimmy Rodgers. Well, this game huge number
on the total, sixty five and a half and out.
And there's a major reason why, because both of these
teams can put up points, and they will put up points.
Navy five in one on overs, North Texas six in
one overs. Not only do I expect this number to

(24:04):
be covered easily.

Speaker 3 (24:05):
I think both teams.

Speaker 2 (24:06):
Are gonna combine for close to forty two points in
the first half. Kind of gives you a nice little
all right, good, we can exhale going in a halftime
knowing they're gonna easily cover that number sixty five and
a half for the game.

Speaker 3 (24:20):
So I'm gonna go over. I'm gonna go over in
this game.

Speaker 2 (24:23):
Navy North Texas over sixty five, blowout special bet it now,
wait for it, wait for it, thank me later and
cash that ticket. All right, Lee, what do you got next?

Speaker 4 (24:43):
All right, I'm gonna look at the game between the
San Francisco forty nine Ers and the New York Giants.
So do you watch the game last week? Not? Everyone did.

Speaker 3 (24:53):
Not.

Speaker 4 (24:53):
Too many people can summach watching the Giants unless you're
an Eagles fan and we're backing them, or you had
a bet on the Giants. And as soon as Campskataboo
got injured, you looked at the face of their quarterback
Jackson Dart, and the rest of their players hint looked
like they had seen a ghost. No, it wasn't Halloween.
It was a week before Halloween. Their leader that's right.

(25:16):
Their leader Camp Scataboo had dislocated his ankle, done for
this season. They did nothing after that point. They were
sleepwalking that game. I think they're absolutely done here. Think
they're going to pack it in. On top of that,
they don't have a number one receiver. He's done for
the year. As I mentioned Skataboo, he's done for the year.
I mean, they're just going with retreads now. Matt Jones

(25:39):
doing a nice job. Why should they have success against
the Giants, Well, the Giants have a poor pass defense.
But what did San Francisco forty nine ers do is
they run the ball on first down and they consistently
get five, six, seven, eight yards. And when they put
you in second and short or even third and short situations,

(26:00):
you can use play action. And then the one strength
the Giants have, which is their defensive lineman. They've got
first rounders up and down that line and guys that
can get to the quarterback. They can't tee off. They
gotta worry about the run. So I just think that
San Francisco, even though they are banged up, they have
enough playmakers here. They lost last week. It was a

(26:21):
horrible matchup. They had to play Damiico Ryans, head coach
for the Texans, who knew their schemes inside and out.
The Giants don't Giants pack it in here San Francisco.
They get the job done, something like thirty to sixteen.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
Okay, here we go thirty to sixteen San Francisco. Especially
you have that horrible loss last week down the road,
down the road at Houston. All Right, this game is
very intriguing for a bunch of reasons. We're gonna go
to Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska, Riley Moss and you
know what, listen, this team you talk about my ky Lemon,

(27:01):
one of the best wide receivers in the country, and
USC who you know, if it wasn't for a loss
here against Notre Dame blowing it giving up thirty four
points on the road to Illinois, this USC team could
really be undefeated.

Speaker 3 (27:14):
And you know it's uh I listen, this is.

Speaker 2 (27:17):
A team that and you know for Lincoln Riley, he's
actually been able to to kind of the thing I
like the most about this USC team unlike other years,
is that Lincoln Riley he's actually running the ball now
and where last year he had Woody Marx who we've
seen in the NFL this year and what he's been
able to do and with the Houston Texans, and.

Speaker 3 (27:40):
You've seen it like he's just he's had, he's got.

Speaker 2 (27:42):
Those those horses to run the ball, and for whatever reason,
he just hasn't done it well. This USC team, one
thing they can do. They can put up points. You
know it, and I know it. I didn't like going
into the season Jayden Maya vea and he's actually had
a pretty good year this year.

Speaker 3 (28:00):
They're gonna put up points.

Speaker 2 (28:01):
And on the other side, Dylan Ryola and Nebraska they
can put up points, and both teams defense are subceptible
to giving up a lot of points. Nebraska got blown
out on the road at Minnesota. I mentioned USC. They
got shell shocked by CJ. Carr and Notre Dame in
South Bend. I'm a big number on this game, kind

(28:24):
of like the North Texas and Navy game, but not
as big.

Speaker 3 (28:27):
It's fifty nine and a half.

Speaker 2 (28:29):
And I will tell you right now, Grant Wistrom and
the Black Shirts they're not walking through that door. And
for USC, neither is Troy Paulamalu. So I'm gonna go
over on this game fifty nine to fifty nine and
a half. Give me the over again. This is a
game that I expect to be a lot of scoring.

(28:51):
Nebraska re sign Matt Rule to an extension this week.
They announced gave him an extra fifteen million dollars to
take him out of this cycle. Explicit language for college
football coaches. So he's not going anywhere. Sorry to disappoint
Penn State fans or maybe make Penn State fans happy
regardless in this game. And listen, I'm not really big

(29:14):
on the side. If I had to lean one way
or the other, I'd probably go, you know, with the
Trojans on that one fight on Trojans. But I love
this game in terms of the scoring. Makai Lemon's gonna
have a big game. Dylan Ryola is gonna be able
to move the ball against this USC defense, which was
susceptible against Notre Dame, especially against the run with Jeremiah

(29:36):
Love and Price. So I think that both teams will
go up and down the field, big, big scoring game.

Speaker 3 (29:42):
I'm going over. So I there again over.

Speaker 2 (29:46):
Navy North Texas sixty five and a half over USC
Nebraska fifty nine, fifty nine and a half. All right,
this is Picking the Locks brought to you by fan

sports any caper in America from Paramount Sports. You can
check out his website Paramount sports dot com. If you
want his big money VIP picks, the number to call
is one eight hundred, four hundred ninety seven four one
one eight hundred, four hundred nine to seven, four to one.
Those are the ones that and Lee's Lee. You got
some big picks coming up this weekend?

Speaker 3 (31:34):
Right?

Speaker 4 (31:35):
Oh? Not this big? So we rid our selections from
ten to fifty units. Been doing that now for the
last seventeen years. I probably average one forty unit selection
every single month. I think maybe in the seventeen years
we've probably had two or three instances where we've had
two in one weekend. I don't have one. I don't

(31:56):
have two. First time ever. I have three forty fifty
unit max wagers going this weekend too in college football.
One in the NFL. How about this, we call this
coming month coming up just a few hours. We call
it not November. We call it November. You can get
the entire month, five weeks of games normally four to

(32:17):
ninety seven if you use coupon code save two hundred.
This is a special for this show, only not heard
on any other show. If you use coupon code save
two hundred in the checkout box, brings it down to
two hundred and ninety seven dollars. That works out the
eighty dollars a weekend, our record career record on these

(32:41):
forty to fifty unit max wagers seventy three and twenty
nine lifetime. So you're looking for big plays, that's what
we got here at Paramount sports dot com.

Speaker 2 (32:50):
All right, there it is, and you can call them
at one one hundred, four hundred ninety seven four one
to go to Paramount sports dot com. All right, here
we go, time full locks. I'm gonna go back to Houston,
and I'm gonna and again. I you know, I've never
been more impressed of a team in a blowout loss.

Speaker 3 (33:09):
But I see, I see the vision.

Speaker 2 (33:12):
They have a they don't have a good old line,
but they have a great defense, and they have a
defensive minded head coach in Jamiico Ryans. And I'm gonna
go back to that game on Sunday. Now, remember Denver.
A couple of weeks ago, we're down by thirty two
points in the fourth quarter. And I just scored thirty
three points in the fourth quarter led by Bo Nicks
to win that game against Jackson Dart and the Giants.

(33:32):
And I know defense does travel. Remember earlier in the
show in our underdog segment, I gave you the under
in this game. I think it's gonna be a field goal,
but I'm gonna go with the Texans again. I think
that Demico Ryans learned from that loss on Monday night
football here in Seattle, and you saw what they did
last week to Mac Jones and the San Francisco forty

(33:54):
nine ers. And I think Denver they've been getting by
on a lot of lucky, close, one score and even
less than three point games. I'm gonna go with the
hometown team in this one. I'm gonna take the Texans.
I think Nico Collins big game for him. He doesn't
have to go against Patrick Stirtan the second the reigning

(34:17):
NFL Defensive Player of the Year who's out now with
a torn peck. He's gonna go up against Riley Moss.
It's gonna be a big game for Nico and c J.
Stroud and I love this Texans defense, Will Anderson, daneil Hunter,
of course, Derek Stingley Junior. And I think the Texans
are gonna roll. I'm taking the Texans this one minus
five over the Denver Broncos. I actually think this line

(34:40):
should be about three to three and a half. I
think the Texans are gonna win this one decisively.

Speaker 3 (34:45):
All right.

Speaker 2 (34:46):
Now we go to Ford Field in Detroit and the
Minnesota Vikings, who I know, they've fallen on some hard
times recently.

Speaker 3 (34:56):
They have not been the team that you know.

Speaker 2 (34:58):
In quite frankly, I didn't like the draft pick of
JJ McCarthy in that class.

Speaker 3 (35:05):
I just didn't like it.

Speaker 2 (35:07):
I felt like he was a guy who was just
riding the Michigan Great defense trained to a national title.
And you know, they they're a team two that has
given up a lot of points. Thirty seven they gave
up last week on the road against the Chargers. Now

(35:27):
they're facing arguably the best offense in the NFL, even
without their former OC Ben Johnson. And I'm talking about
Jared Goff and the deep at Troy Lions offense. A'man
ra Saint Brown, Jamison Williams, Sam Laporta, Jamir Gibbs, David Montgomery. Well,

(35:47):
they're hosting the Vikings. The Lions at home are averaging
thirty six and a half points per game. Their defense
has the propensity, though, to give up some points as well,
so I think Minnesota has a chance to get over
twenty points. JJ McCarthy returning from injury after Carson wentz
Now was placed.

Speaker 3 (36:08):
He's done for the entire season.

Speaker 2 (36:10):
This number in this game, depending where you get it,
about forty seven forty seven and a half. I don't
see this ever being an issue. I think both teams
will combine for close to thirty points by halftime, and
I'm going over in this game. Easily give me the over.
Forty seven forty seven.

Speaker 3 (36:31):
And a half.

Speaker 2 (36:32):
Vikings at the Lions. Betnett now, thank me later and
cash that ticket. Lee coming up tomorrow, early kick in Dallas, Texas.
Keines going up against a familiar face and their former
offensive coordinator who's now rumored to be the odds on

(36:55):
favorite to go back to his alma mater and replace
Sam Pittman at Arkansas. I'm talking about Rhet Lashley in
SMU Miami double digit favorite in this game.

Speaker 3 (37:08):
Who do you like?

Speaker 4 (37:10):
Yeah? So, rhtt Lashley does face the team where he's
the offensive coordinator, but there's really no bad blood. It's
unlike some of these other divorces. He went for a
head coaching job. Can't blame him at all. Now you're thinking, oh,
Rhett knows Miami, he knows how to attack him. Well
maybe not so much. Why do I say that, because

(37:31):
none of the personnel is still around. So he's also
got to face a defensive coordinator who was not with
Miami last year. So I see really no advantage that
he has. Now he's probably going to prepare extra hard
facing his old team. Really good relationship it seemed like
he had with Mario Christobal. But the bottom line here

(37:54):
here is does he have the horses? So the two
games they played again teams with good offenses. I thought
SMU's defense, which lost seven to the top eight defensive
lineman pickup Blitz Baylor and TCU scored forty eight and
thirty five points in those games. Well you're saying, oh,

(38:15):
did they have any big wins? Well, they beat Clempson
thirty five to twenty four. But oh wait, no, Clemson
quarterback kde Klubnik he did not play in that game.
So this is a team that lost last week till
Wake forrests Wake Force does not have even a quarter
of the talent that Miami has. Probably of their twenty

(38:36):
two starters, maybe two or three would be able to
start on this team. SMU's best weapon this year Romelo
Brinson Well, where was he? Well he was a former
Kaine buried on the depth chart. He didn't even see
much playing time last year at SMU. I think Miami's
absolutely loaded. They were going to funk the first half.

(38:57):
True after that, Louisville lost last week against Stanford, tied
seven to seven, but what did they do? They poured
it on thirty five nothing in the second half. I
think Miami's big play potential here at running back receiver,
And don't forget special teams. This kid, Tony True freshman
just eighteen years old, is something special. Returning punts here,

(39:21):
they have a dependable kicker. Anything inside of fifty five
is automatic. I think Miami pulls away late here. They
double up SMU forty two to twenty one. That's my
first lock.

Speaker 2 (39:35):
Second game, I'm gonna look, yeah, I told you, Arcanes
second game is gonna be.

Speaker 4 (39:41):
A game between the Texas Longhorns laying three points taking
on the Vanderbilt Commodorees in Texas, ranked pre season number
one in fact last year. After opening up this season
four to zero against the spread, what have they gone
six and fourteen against the spread. What does a spread

(40:05):
record tell you? Well, it tells you either the coaching
or the players aren't living up to their potential. I
think it's a combination of both. Let's look at their
offensive line. Offensive line against Mississippi State, a bottom feeder
in the SEC. They gave up twelve tackles for loss
in that game, went to overtime, and how did they

(40:28):
get to overtime? They needed a punt return for a
touchdown just to get to ot. The week before against
Kentucky had to go to overtime again. I mean, if
this was Nick Saban going to overtime two weeks in
a row against Kentucky and Mississippi State, I mean they'd
be lighting up the airwaves. Paul Finebaum, he couldn't take

(40:50):
enough calls on stuff like this. So they have a
problem here. Their defense is keeping them in games. They've
had two punt returns, probably one of them, two of those games,
and they already have two losses. They could conceivably be
a four loss team. On the other side, Vanderbilt, how
have they done since the start of last year? Just

(41:12):
fifteen and six against the spread the last two weeks.
These are the two biggest games in college football. They
include the Vanderbilt Commodoores. How bad did it used to
be at Vanderbilt? I had a friend who went there.
When he went there the first week, a kid came
up to him from the band. They weren't playing anyone,
and he told them, beat open the next kid in

(41:35):
the band. The following we had the audacity to come
up to my friend and he told the kid. Listen,
he says, beat the point spread. That's what Vanderbilt football
used to be all about. All of a sudden, they've
turned it around with Diego Pavia. I love this team here.
Unless Texas gets another punt return for a touchdown, I

(41:57):
can't see him covering and I wouldn't bet on it.
Second lock, Vanderbilt wins this game over Texas twenty four
to twenty.

Speaker 2 (42:06):
Very nice, and if that obviously comes through, that'll be
the end of any playoff hopes for the Texas Longhorns,
who will have three losses. So that will be the
end of their season for a team that was preseason
number one. How about the team that started off the
year preseason number two? Penn State fired their coach before
mid October. So goes to show you about preseason polls,

(42:27):
doesn't it all right? I'm gonna give you a player
prop here, my first one. I'm giving a lot more
player props, but you know what, what better way? And
we'll close out here and go rapid fire Sunday night football.
By the way, for everybody listening here in the Seattle area,
coming out to muckle Shut Casino at Galaxy right near
the Sportsbook, join me for the Seattle away game watch

(42:53):
party Sunday night. We'll watch against the Commanders. Will be
giving giveaways and T shirts and all that stuff. Come
on out to Muckleshoot this Sunday night, kickoff five to
twenty local time in Seattle for the Seahawks Commanders game.
And that's where I'm going on my last lock of
the weekend. Jackson Smith and Jigba. He just goes by

(43:15):
that three letter acronym JSN. He had a bye week
last weekend. He's still leading the NFL and receiving yards
by over one hundred over the second place guy, Jamar
Chase after a bye. Well, JSN, how great has he been?
He's been the best ride receiver in the NFL. In

(43:38):
the last three weeks. He's had one hundred and thirty
two receiving yards against the Bucks, one hundred and sixty
two against the Jags, and against that Demiko Ryans defense
one hundred and twenty three yards, eight receptions in a touchdown.
He's caught a touchdown three games in a row. Well,
I think he's gonna make it four, but I'm gonna

(43:58):
go with Jackson Smith and he's averaging one hundred and
seventeen and a half receiving yards in the game. It's
ninety four and a half the total for Sunday Night
against the Commanders with a very porous old defense led
by Marshawn Lattimore. Take JSN over ninety four and a

(44:18):
half receiving yards. Bet it now, thank me later, and
cash that ticket, all right, Lee, wrap it up with us.

Speaker 4 (44:28):
Yeah, I'm gonna give you the biggest game of the weekend,
and it's the Buffalo Kansas City game. Why is the
public gonna make a mistake here? Because they're on Buffalo public.
Money's coming on Buffalo. Sharps are on Kansas City. Buffalo's
controlled this game and won this game each in the
last four times in the regular season. But they got

(44:49):
big problems. Linebackers, they can't tackle on space, they're cornerbacks,
they can't cover a cold, and the receivers getting no separation.
This Kansas City team is finally healthy, and boy are
they dangerous on offense. And don't forget about special teams,
maybe the best special teams in the NFL. I like

(45:10):
Kansas City. Third and final lock of the show.

Speaker 3 (45:14):
All right, taking the Chiefs, I'll go with him on
that one. And by the way, and head to.

Speaker 2 (45:18):
Head they now, Buffalo did beat him last year at Buffalo,
But when it comes, when push comes to shove, you
always got it. You can't bet against Mahomes and Andy Reid.
We appreciate everybody who listened to us. Of course, picking
