Here's your host, Mark James.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
Welcome everyone to another episode of Picking the Locks, brought
to you by Fan Duel Sportsbook, Suquamis Clearwater Casino Resort
on Sports Radio ninety three to three KJRFM, Seattle Sports Leader.
I'm your host, Mark James MJ in the midday from
ten am to one pm, along with the best sports
Sandy Kapper in America, Lee Sterling from Paramount Sports dot Com.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
So much to get to last week.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
Nice week for me five and two, So hopefully to
keep that momentum up this week. But before we get
to any and all of that, Lee, the rankings came
out on Tuesday night, and no surprise at the top,
especially after Alabama was upset by Oklahoma, so Ohio State one,
(01:07):
Indiana two, Texas A and M, and then Georgia Texas
Tech at five ole Miss six. Gets a little interesting
after that. Oregon. Now here's The thing about Oregon. They
did win at Iowa, but that win at Penn State
is not valid anymore. That has been invalidated because they
lost at home to Northwestern.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
They lost to UCLA, so that.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
Win at Penn State wasn't what it was a couple
months ago. Oklahoma they jump up over Alabama. Imagine that,
lee They jump up to eight. Notre Dame stays at
nine and Alabama dropped all the way down to ten
after the loss. Now that's interestingly right there, because lo
and behold, Oklahoma beats Alabama, Oklahoma gets rewarded for winning
(01:58):
head to head and Alabama gets punished.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
So there's a precedent right there.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
So right then and there, I think the committee, I
agree with everything up to that point.
Speaker 4 (02:11):
What do you say, Oh, I agree one hundred percent.
And it's gonna make it so much fun. So many
games have so many huge bearings on getting into the
college football Playoff. There's gonna be six seven games that
are this way, and then it's going to continue next
week and it could end up, you know, there might
be one or two games as far as Championship Saturday.
(02:33):
So this is what makes it fun. You know, when
there's only four teams. You know, you're just playing to
go to, you know, one of the condiment bowls at
this point if you're not at least in the top eight.
So hey, I like connaments, but you know it's not
the main course.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
No, No, I like pop darts too.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
I just don't want to be playing in the freaking
pop Darts Bowl again like Miami did last year.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
We don't want that again.
Speaker 3 (02:55):
So then it gets interesting because I mentioned Notre Dame
at nine, Notre Dame schedule where And the one thing
I don't hear enough people bringing this up, and everybody's
losing their ever loving minds, and I love it. And
they're doing it on behalf of our Miami Hurricanes, Lee everybody,
Andy Staples, Paul Feinbaum, Joel Klatt, Ross Dellinger, Dan Walkin
(03:20):
from Yahoo Sports, everybody who's anybody is basically saying right
now that the NCAA College Playoff Committee is on a
land mine because if at the end of the year
and this is where we go, Okay, so Oklahoma is
ranked ahead of Alabama. They won at Alabama, they should be.
(03:40):
So why is Notre Dame number nine in Miami's number
thirteen when Miami beat Notre Dame, although Notre Dames two
losses too, ironically Miami and Texas A and M were
in September. So again we go back to this thing
called rece and see bias. It's not just who you
(04:03):
lose to, it's when you lose. Lee, So Miami's being
punished because they lost in mid October and on the
first day of November at SMU, when Notre Dame lost
in September. But here's my thing, Lee, and I don't
have to convince you. I'm preaching to the choir on
this one with us both being Keynes, is that what
(04:23):
happens at the end of the year when the College
Football Playoff Committee and Arkansas fleg director and the chair
of the playoff Committee, Hunter You'rochek, has to say, well,
we need now to compare and contrast Notre Dame in Miami.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
They're both ten and two.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
Notre Dame's best win was against USC and Miami beat
Notre Dame. No recency bias. Then will the committee do
the right thing and put Miami in over Notre Dame.
Speaker 4 (04:53):
I think they will. Mark. I think it's gonna playoff. Fine.
The most important thing every team needs. Remember, just to
take care of your own business. If Miami wins out,
I think it's like ninety ninety five percent they're in.
So I can't see them leaving them out like last year.
Last year they were playing horrible football. Remember they lost
the last couple of games, so totally different story. And
(05:14):
then I also I'm getting text and emails like who
should I you know from different clients and people listen
to the show. They want to know who should I
be on and who should I bet? You know for
the college football playoff to win? I say, wait until
the brackets come out. Last year, Notre Dame was not
one of the top three or four teams, but they
had the perfect bracket layout. They end up going to
(05:35):
the championship game they lost, they were in it until
the end, so Notre Dame was given almost a free
pass to the championship. So that's very very important also,
not just how how well your team is playing at
the end of the year.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
Yeah, so we'll discuss this more as the weeks go by,
and it is it is nothing if not provoking, and
everybody is provoked over this college football player committee, and
you know what the guy will say and I'm glad
the committee's open to this going forward. We need to
get this thing to sixteen. I'm not saying anything more,
(06:09):
but Lee, sixteen seems to be a better number than twelve.
And you're not letting people are talking about a field
at twenty four. No, no, no, no, no. Sixteen is
perfect for me.
Speaker 4 (06:22):
Right, first first round games are played at the higher seed,
and you know then from there on then you can
have you know, neutral site games. So that last year's
game Tronk right, So you know, I think only one
of them was even decent for a while. All four it,
if memory serves me, correct, Bill, it wins.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (06:43):
Yeah, So so with eight, with eight games, got a
much better chance of getting good games for the first round.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
All right, let's start with our wrong team favored here segment,
which is the underdog segment. Let's go to Nashville, Tennessee
Lee coming up on Saturday. Speaking of Vanderbilt, right on
that outside looking in, they get Mark Stoops in Kentucky
at home, and this could be one of you know,
the second to last game of Mark Stoops at Kentucky.
Speaker 4 (07:12):
Yep, and it could be, but you never know. So
here here's Vanderbilt They are the ultimate underdog team. Love
to play when they're getting points, and they game plan
for it. They throw everything at you. Now they're at
home and they need to win this game, and they
(07:33):
need to win against Tennessee to probably get into the
college football playoffs. For Kentucky, it's clear Mark Stoops has
got to win this week or next week against Louisville
or I believe he'll be out. There's some things I
like about Kentucky. All of a sudden, they found their
offense in running the football, specifically Dante Daddle and Seth McGowan.
(07:54):
Their top two running backs have total over three hundred
and fifty rushing yards over the last two games. They've
also scored thirty eight and forty two points. Their defense,
which has been solid this year. The last two games
against conference opponents in the SEC, they held Auburn to
three points. And I know Auburn isn't great, but they're still,
you know, an SEC opponent. They're not the worst team
(08:18):
in the conference in Florida to seven points. How do
they do as an underdog? Well, the last two years
getting seven points or more seven and two against the spread.
Mark Stoops loves this role for his team and Vanderbilt
rushing offense. The top two rushers not named Diego Pavia
(08:38):
have gained just thirty nine and eleven yards the last
two weeks. So Mark Stoops is gonna be ready here.
He's three and two against Vanderbilt last five games. Also
the two losses by just seven and three points over
the last five years. I think Vanderbilt will find a
way to win the game, something like twenty four to
twenty three, twenty four to twenty one. I'm taking all
(09:03):
those points, all those gorgeous points here, almost double digits.
I think it's a game that goes right down to the.
Speaker 2 (09:08):
Wire, all right.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
I like that, and who knows, maybe Kentucky can pull
out the upset. I want to go now to Eugene, Oregon,
and I want to go to a game. Game Day
is going to be there on Saturday. USC comes in
as a nine and a half point dog. Jaden Mayava
has had a really good season, and one of the
major reasons why he's had a great season is the
fact that he's got the best receiver in America this
(09:33):
side of Jeremiah Smith mackay Lemon, who is averaging one
hundred and nine receiving yards per game. And you know,
there's a quote that was out there that I saw
from Lincoln Riley and which I love. Lincoln Riley was
asked about game day going to Eugene for this Saturday.
He said, quote, I think for us, these are all
(09:54):
the same people that thought we were going to suck.
Like seriously, this is all the same people what gonna
do this, and USC was this and that. So for
us to pay attention to them now like would be
a little counterproductive. So we haven't forgotten about that. That
tells me that USC is fired up. Obviously, coming up
in a couple of weeks, USC is about to sign
(10:14):
what is regarded as the greatest recruiting class in the
college football rankings history in terms of when they do
rankings and give numbers to players. I love the Trojans
in this spot. I'm not saying they're gonna win the game,
but nine and a half points Oregon their best win.
I mean, it's at Iowa. Everybody thought was at Penn State,
(10:37):
and then Penn State's coach lost to UCLA and then
lost that on the Northwestern. Give me the Trojans fight
on plus nine and a half. Bet it now.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
Thank me later, fight on trojans Lee.
Speaker 3 (10:54):
Your next one is in the NFC North Division in
a big game for the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
Speaker 4 (11:02):
It is, and they're going to have to find a
way to get this offense going. Could not get it
going at all against the Philadelphia Eagles. Or offensive line
didn't hold up. Also, the receivers not getting much separation
and not holding onto the ball. I think they had
seven or eight drop passes in that game. Jordan Love
(11:23):
looks tentative, looks like he's throwing off his back foot.
So not in love with green Bay, even at home,
scoring a whole lot of points. And then Minnesota JJ McCarthy,
he's certainly not the answer. There's a reason why they
sat him for six weeks while they led Carson wentz
Fry to work his way in and get the job done.
(11:43):
That didn't work out. He looked terrible, he got hurt.
So they're back to JJ McCarthy. Too late to make
a trade at this point. I mean, these are two
offenses that are working in reverse right now, so it's
going to be outdoors here. The speed will be negated
by Justin Jefferson. I see two really good defenses here.
(12:06):
When there's that really low total, it's that low for
a reason. Here, I'm thinking under forty one total points
green Bay and Minnesota. I think it's gonna be a
real low scoring game.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
Yeah, all right, I like that.
Speaker 3 (12:20):
You know, the Seattle Seahawks here in the great City
of Seattle in the PNW, coming off a tough loss,
but a tough fought loss, and now to their divisional
rival La Rams last Sunday down at Sofi Stadium in
the city of Angels. Well, this is what Mike McDonald
(12:41):
does in adverse situations. After losing the opener, the Seahawks
went on to win the next three after losing the
forty nine ers, then they lose to the Bucks at
home in a shootout against Baker Mayfield. Then they go
on to win the next four before losing on Sunday
to the Rams. Well, this is the start of what
should be a nice winning stream again for the Hawks.
I mean, they're thirteen and a half point favorite, so
(13:04):
I'm not touching the points there. However, the team total
for the Tennessee Titans is exactly the point spread thirteen
and a half. And I'll tell you right now for
our guy, cam Ward, God bless you, bro. You are
going through a really tough time this year. These guys
are absolutely horrific. They're a one win team right now.
(13:28):
They're one and eight on the year. They've lost four
in a row, having lost to the Raiders, Patriots, Colts,
and Chargers.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
Well, I got news for you.
Speaker 3 (13:38):
When the Patriots came to town, the Colts were excuse me,
the Titans were held to thirteen points. The team total
over for the Titans on Sunday, it's thirteen and a half.
I'm gonna take the team total under thirteen and a
half points. I think this Seahawks defense and Lee, remember
(13:59):
you and I had a player hey back in September,
mid September on the under for the Saints in Seattle
to go under. I believe it was seventeen and a
half points and the Seahawks held Serve there. Mike McDonald's defense,
Leonard Williams, Devin Witherspoon, Byron Murphy, second year player. These
guys are gonna take out their frustration and what happened
(14:21):
last Sunday to the Rams out on cam Ward and
this pathetic Titans team. So take the team total on
the ramp excuse me on the Titans. Titans team total
thirteen and a half under take it under. Seahawks will
make a major statement in this game.
Speaker 2 (14:43):
So there you go.
Speaker 3 (14:44):
I'm gonna take usc plus the nine and a half
and take the Titans team total under thirteen and a
half points.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
There all right?
Speaker 3 (14:53):

(16:49):
going to play? You want our VIP games. If you're
betting at least five hundred to one thousand a game,
call us eight hundred, four hundred nine to seven, four
to one.
Speaker 3 (16:58):
All right, we know when it comes to college football,
unlike the NFL, where the top seven teams in the
AFC and NFC make the playoffs in January, and college
football style points matter and specially at the end of
the year in November, in the final two weeks, and
so lee for the College Football Playoff Committee teams this weekend,
(17:23):
that really really need to make their mark, so to speak.
Let's start with our Miami Hurricanes. I mean, this is
a team on the road at Virginia Tech. Virginia Tech
just hired James Franklin. I don't he won't be coaching
on Saturday. But nonetheless, for Miami, not only can you
not afford a loss, you have to come out the
(17:44):
way they did last Saturday against NC State when they
were going for a shutout and NC State scored a
backdoor cosmetic touchdown. But you need a performance like forty
one to seven. Miami's a seventeen and a half point favorite,
so we know the Hurricanes right then and there. They
need to certainly make their mark. Utah at home against
(18:04):
Kansas State, they're a seventeen and a half point favorite
as well. Michigan on the road at Maryland, so that's
another one there. Vanderbilt we talked about before. They're a
nine and a half point favorite. They're at home, so
they need to make a statement. And then of course
we mentioned USC. If USC loses their seasons pretty much
(18:24):
over in terms of making the playoffs, that's their third
loss of the year. They're on the road as a
nine and a half point dog to Oregon. So of
all the teams lee under the gun under pressure that
really need to perform on Saturday, who are your top
three teams that really need to make a statement and
curry favor with the committee so they don't lose any
(18:46):
ground and maybe gain some ground.
Speaker 4 (18:49):
Well, I think it's going to be BYU, believe it
or not. BYU has two losses and so I think
they need to win big. They're playing a team Cincinnati
that was one lost this couple weeks ago. It is
on a two game losing streak. So they can't just
win by three, four to seven points. I think they've
got to win by double digits. They need style points.
(19:11):
Same with Utah. I mean Utah is playing a Kansas
State team that has been mediocre at best and is injured.
Right now. I know that Utah right now has their ad.
He was added this year to the College Football Selection Committee,
but they're going to be looking at him if he
votes Utah and over some of these other teams. And
(19:32):
then Miami, because Miami's always under the microscope, that line
was pushed up. This line should normally be probably fourteen
and a half fifteen. But when your Miami usually have
to pay a little extra price, and especially with them
needing style points, they win by a touchdown or less,
and the doubters will be coming out of the woodwork.
Speaker 3 (19:51):
Especially against a team like Virginia and Tech who's coach
was fired two months ago and right now they're playing
for nothing but pride, nothing but pride. And then Virginia
Tech ends their season a week from Saturday against Virginia
and that state rival.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
So I'm gonna go right now.
Speaker 3 (20:09):
We're gonna start here in the blowout segment, and we're
gonna go down to Age Town and the University of
Houston and this team. Willie Fritz has done an excellent
job there with the Cougars. And you know, listen with
Houston this year. They're six and three against the number.
(20:30):
So they've had a pretty good year this year at
against the number. And they're facing a team who was
in the National Championship a few years ago in TCU.
But Houston, for me, it all starts with Connor Wegman,
the former Texas A and m Aggie and Amari Thomas
at wide receiver and Dean Connors and this offense I
(20:52):
think at home Houston right now, I mean, they might
think they still have a chance to even though it
doesn't look good. They're twenty three, but they want to
make a statement to the committee. They're eight and two.
They like to finish out the season at nine and two.
They're only a one and a half point favorite. Like
I said, six and three against the number, I don't
think this game is going to be close on Saturday.
(21:12):
And with all due respect to Sonny Dyke's and and
that team, you know, Quintin Johnson's not walking through that
door that ginger quarterback they had a few years ago.
His name I already forgot. That led them to the
national championship. Is not walking through that door. I mean,
this is a team that got blown out by two
scores at k State. So and this is a team
(21:32):
that's coming off back to back losses at home the
Iowa State and then a thirty one point blowout last weekend.
As you mentioned to be OIU, So give me the
Cougars blowout City minus one and a half over TCU.
Bet it now, wait for it, wait for it, thank me, laters.
Cougar's all right, Lee, what do you got next?
Speaker 4 (21:54):
All right, I'm gonna look at a game in the
SEC and the team that you know people have forgotten
about Tennessee Volunteers. Well, I still think Tennessee is very good.
Just had a couple of plays and a couple of
their games, specifically Oklahoma. If they don't have that fumble
go against them when they're driving for a touchdown, go
the other way, fourteen point switch, we might be talking
(22:19):
about them playing for the college football Playoffs. So Florida
has owned the series. They've owned it seems like for
about twenty five years. This series dating back to Steve
Spurrier when he was coach Florida is six and one
of the last seven when these two have matched up
against the spread. Last week, the Tennessee volunteers people heard
(22:41):
them complaining that they were actually out first down by
New Mexico State. That was a glorified scrimmage. That game
the absolutely nothing. So they just wanted to get their
players in, let them play a half or so, get
them ready for this week. And I think that this
is a game that they want. They're going to catch
(23:01):
the Gators here. This Gators team has been struggling a
couple of weeks ago. They went to Kentucky and gave
up thirty eight points. Last week a little bit better.
I mean they were winning at half, but coaching I
thought was poor. The play calling was bad. They gave
up thirty four to Ole Miss, did not score a
point in the second half. They're down their top four receivers,
(23:24):
so not many quarterbacks can make Hay with a bunch
of guys that are you know, spare parts, fifth, sixth, seventh,
and eighth receivers. I mean they're guys that can run,
you know, curl routes, things like that. But they're not
going to beat many people. Deep I think Tennessee's offense
is elite. They've been scoring on anyone here. I say,
(23:46):
you bet the house here on Tennessee. This is going
to be my first blowout special over the Florida Gators
even in the swamp.
Speaker 3 (23:53):
All right, all right, there we go. I'm going to
go to the NFL on Sunday. And what's going on
with the Detroit Lions and man in the beginning of
the year. After the first month, they had a top
five offense. Then all of a sudden, you know, the
first six games they had a top five offense. Then
(24:13):
Dan Campbell decides that he wants to start calling the plays.
You saw how bad that win, especially last Sunday night
against the Philadelphia Eagles. That was an absolute cluster bleep
isshow horrible. And you're looking at the Lions right now.
What happened to this team? Well, Dan Campbell, he's completely
(24:34):
emasculated his offensive coordinator, John Morton, who took over for
Ben Johnson. That's now the Bears head coach. But they
got this is a get right game for them. And
usually I'm not a guy who's gonna lay double digits
on spreads. But this, to me is a major get
right game. This line opened up as the Lions minus
(24:55):
eight and a half. Now it's gone up to his
high as eleven, and it's kind of come down a
little bit right now to ten and a half. Lions
are six and four against the number on the season.
They welcome in Jameis Winston Lee and Jamis Winston the
guy still in the league. He's like a cockroach. You
can't get rid of him. I mean, can you imagine?
(25:17):
So for me Aiden Hutchinson, that defense they need to
get after Jameis Winston, who I can't believe is still
in the league. He and Marcus Mariotto with the number
one and two picks in the twenty fifteen NFL draft,
lay the ten and a half points. Bet it now,
thank me later on the Lions and Lee. I've actually
(25:40):
got one more blog I'm gonna give while I'm there,
I'm gonna go out with that game and go with
Jared Goff. Jared Goff has been nothing, showed a remarkable
obviously the Philadelphia game notwithstanding, let's not talk about that.
Even Tom Brady, Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky had bad games
and Jared Goff had a bad game, but it's due
to him. It was due to the fact of his
(26:02):
head coach and now offensive coordinators play calling. I love
Jared Goff and what he's been able to do. He's
the model of consistency. And again, everybody has bad games. Well,
this Sunday, the Lions will get it right and golf
will come out smoking the New York Giants and that
(26:25):
porous defense who just fired their head coach a couple
of weeks ago, Brian Dable. So I'm gonna go Jared
Goff over passing yards two hundred and fifty seven and
a half. So give me Jared Goff over two hundred
and fifty seven and a half passing yards. And Lee,
are you coming over to the dark side on player
props this week?
Speaker 2 (26:45):
Finally?
Speaker 4 (26:47):
All right? So we do player props here at Paramouse Sports,
but usually wait until Saturday or Sunday to release him.
They're so volatile, and you know, I want to get
the best number, So I'm going to release one early,
and I'm going to take a look at Lamar Jackson.
You're saying, okay, well, Lamar Jackson, he hasn't looked that
great of late. Well, maybe it's the competition that he's
(27:11):
been up against. So when I've been watching him, I
think he's right there. He's been up against two really
tough defenses last couple weeks in Minnesota and Cleveland. Not
like to play terrible. Scored twenty seven against Minnesota in Minnesota,
and then he also had a really decent game against Cleveland.
(27:34):
They scored twenty three points on the road. So now
some things are changing. Playing at home here against New York,
I don't want to take a chance at a back
door cover. I do think that they're going to score.
But I think that the better spot that you want
to take here is to look at his touchdown passes.
Everyone is healthy, and when you have everyone healthy, he
(27:57):
can buy time. There's no Quinn Williams to rush the quarterback.
There was no Sauce Gardner to cover people here. For
the Jets. You have Tyrod Taylor on offense, so you're
gonna get more possessions here.
Speaker 2 (28:10):
A lot of three and out.
Speaker 4 (28:14):
Chris is a great setup here. I think you got
to look at the over one and a half touchdowns
minus one twenty year. He's from one touchdown in his
last two games. He threw two interceptions last week against
the brown but this is one of his best get
right spots and against bad teams, the Ravens make big plays.
(28:36):
And after the last two games, I think he has
a huge breakout game on Sunday against the Jets. Over
one and a half touchdowns here for Lamar Jackson minus
one twenty another huge blowout.
Speaker 3 (28:49):
I love it, Lee, And that's weird for Lamar ever
to get shut out. He only got shut out one
game this year in terms of not throwing a touchdown pass,
and it was last Sunday against an believable Cleveland Browns defense.
I mean, say what you want about Cleveland. We know
that they're a complete abomination, but they sacked them five times.
He had no touchdown passes in two interceptions. Yeah, that
(29:12):
playing the Jets. That's what we call, and that's what
they call in Baseball League a slumpbuster. And there's there's
another connotation to that name, but this is a family show.
We don't want to go there. But that's the ultimate
slump buster playing the Jets. I'm with you, and I'm
gonna go with that too as well. Now that you
brought it up and I've looked into this and in
even with that shutout last week where he didn't throw
(29:34):
any touchdown passes, in the seven games this year, he's
averaging two touchdown passes a game. So this is a
great spot for Lamar and a great spot for him
and that Ravens team, Zayflowers, Mark Andrews to get it
right and it should be a field day the Jets.
Speaker 2 (29:51):
They've and kudos to them.
Speaker 3 (29:53):
Kudos to them for going towards the future and saying
we're throwing in the towel and acquiring, you know, three
first round picks total for Sauce Gardner and Quinn Williams,
and now they've got I believe five first round picks
in the next two drafts. I think they have four
second round picks in the next two drafts. So the
Jets are playing for the future, and that future is
(30:15):
certainly not in twenty twenty five. All Right, Coming up next,
the thing that you all wait for every week when
you listen to MJ, Mark James and Lee Sterling right
here on Sports Radio ninety three three KJRFM on picking
the locks, the locks. We will get to those locks
coming up next. Get your pencil and paper ready. We're
gonna win you a lot of money. Next on Picking
(30:36):
the Locks Bought to you have FanDuel Sportsbooks Suquamish Clearwater
Casino Resort.
Speaker 1 (30:40):
Are you looking for a lock this weekend? You've come
to the right place. Now back to picking the Locks
with Mark James and Lee Sterling brought to you by
the FanDuel Sports Book at Sukuwamish Clearwater Casino Resort on
Sports Radio ninety three point three kjr FM.
Speaker 3 (30:57):
Final segment on Picking the Locks by Fan Duel Sportsbook,
Suquamas Clearwater Casino Resort, MJ. Mark James from Sports Radio
ninety three to three k FM along with Lee Sterling,
produced by the Great Christopher Kidd, Executive producer extraordinaire. We
appreciate Kid and all the hard work he does each
in every week, and each and every day working with
(31:19):
me and my fussy particular meticulous ass, that's for sure.
So Kid, we appreciate all that you do. This is
the segment that you all wait for. The locks and Lee,
We're gonna go to State College Pennsylvania and man, who
would have thought When the preseason rankings came out the
(31:40):
number one team was Texas. They have three losses. And
they are out of the playoffs and number two was
Penn State and Penn State after losing that game at home,
the Oregon then proceeded to lose on the road at
that time was the biggest upset of the season to UCLA,
who just fired their coach to Sean Foster. Then they
(32:01):
lose at home to Northwestern. They welcome in Nebraska Cornhuskers too,
not so happy Valley this Saturday.
Speaker 2 (32:11):
What do you got?
Speaker 4 (32:13):
Yeah, I'm going to start with this game. And normally
I look at, you know, sides, I think it's sometimes easier,
but this game, I think it's all about the total here.
So Penn State obviously lost their starting quarterback, Jeuel r
He's done for the year. They're projected back up Propabilla.
He ends up transferring to Missouri, so they're playing eighth
(32:35):
what is really a third string starting quarterback. Nebraska they
lose their starting quarterback and in their game last week,
his first start, they only threw sixteen passes. So this
is a running team. Even when they throw, they throw
a lot of screens to the running backs. They throw
a lot of flanker screens. So Penn State they're all
(32:57):
about getting you know, the record for their running back.
Allen's trying to be the career rushing leader. Singleton also
a guy that people count on, maybe one of the
best backups in college football at the running back position.
So they ran the ball over forty times last week.
So you have two teams that are going to be
(33:18):
dependent on the run here, and the run defenses have
been solid. Why did Penn State lose a lot of
games like the Ohio State couldn't defend the pass. I
don't think you have to worry about it with the
kid they have played this week. On the other side, hold.
Speaker 3 (33:33):
On Lee, I mean, are you are you doubting the
prowess of Ethan drunken Meyer.
Speaker 4 (33:41):
Well, drunken Meyer should be called drunken Meyers, right right, yeah, yeah,
I mean nice kid, you know, hard with heart. I
mean he dives for first downs. You know, he gets excited.
But I'd be excited too if I was the third
string quarterback playing for Penn State. So the energy level
is not going to be there if they get the lead.
(34:01):
Let's say Penn State gets the lead, They're going to
run the ball. Like I said, they want to get
Allen the rushing title there for the history of Penn
State football. They also want to make sure they don't
give the game away. Same thing for Nebraska. They get
the lead, do you think they're going to put the
ball up? Absolutely not. You have two coaches who are
very conservative also, so I think this is a great
(34:24):
spot here. We're going to go under forty four. You
don't see many games of this kind of total here
college football. These kind of teams under forty four total points.
Penn State Nebraska. Now, second game I'm gonna look at
is going to be a pro game. It is going
to be the New Orleans Saints and a game against
the Atlanta Falcons. You're saying, oh, I don't want to
(34:46):
watch this game. The Saints, they think they only have
two wins, Atlanta's lost five straight games. Why would I
watch this game? Well, points bread winner here, Michael Pennick's
been injured, looks like he's going to be done for
the year. Incomes Kirk Cousins to lead to three and seventeen. No,
thank you. On top of that, they only have one
(35:07):
receiver that can get the ball down the field too,
that's Drake London with sixty catches. After that, I mean,
they don't have a receiver that has even twenty five catches.
So without Drake Ludden London, they are very limited. Pits
is a nice tight end, but you know, Kirk Cousins
certainly not the same player since he was injured. So
(35:29):
this is a bad situational set up here for Atlanta.
With this news, I think that they've quit. On the
other side, Kellen Moore, I think he's going to be
a good coach. So what did he do? Why was
he starting Spencer Rattler to start the year. Well, if
you start Spencer Rattler, you let him play himself out
of the job and didn't make many mistakes, didn't hurt
(35:51):
the team, but couldn't make enough big plays only six
foot had trouble seeing over the line. Then he gives
him time for Tyler Shug. He was giving him a
masterclass and giving him time to be antiquated with the
offense and NFL defenses. And at six' five he can
(36:12):
see his receivers down the field here and he's finally.
Ready So Tyler shug has been a shot in the
arm to this. Team he can push the ball down the,
field make better decisions. Here This atlanta, TEAM i think
is absolutely. Quit So i'm gonna take The New Orleans.
Saints i'm gonna lay the one and a half. POINTS
(36:33):
i think this line goes. Up this line should be
like four or five. Points saints are not that. Bad they're,
bad but not that. Bad The Atlanta, falcons they may
not win more than one more game the rest of the.
Year so this is a team that gonna have to
make some changes in the. Offseason Michael pennix may not
even back for the start of next. Year so everything they,
(36:54):
do bad, luck bad. Decisions you, know you Signed Kirk,
cousins then you drafted a quarterback number. NINE i don't
get their. Plan and even the guys they drafted the
bulls of the defense from the, edge just not getting
much of a pass. Rush so Take New orleans at home.
Here this sign should be much much.
Speaker 2 (37:12):
Higher all, right there we.
Speaker 3 (37:15):
Go we're gonna go down To, Austin, Texas DARRYL. K
Royal stadium DK r and The. Longhorns, well we know
what's coming up Next. Thursday It's, thanksgiving but it's all
it's better known As Turkey. Day, WELL i think there's
a lot of turkeys In texas and they are known
(37:36):
as The, longhorns the preseason number one ranked team in the,
country and a team who got completely exposed with their
pants down last week By Kirby Smart Gunner stockton and
The Georgia. BULLDOGS i, mean could a team be less
prepared After georgia scores in the third quarter And kirby
(37:58):
goes with an on side Than Steve.
Speaker 2 (38:00):
Sarkisian Steve.
Speaker 3 (38:01):
Sarkisian Desmond howard just came out two days, ago actually On,
monday and said that he heard That Steve sarkisian And
texas could be a mutual parting of.
Speaker 2 (38:12):
Ways we've heard SOME nfl rumors as.
Speaker 3 (38:15):
Well ALL i know is This texas once again horns
down all those five stars and four stars never ceased to.
Disappoint they're in a real conference, now not the small
twelve like they used to.
Speaker 2 (38:28):
Be they're in THE.
Speaker 3 (38:28):
Sec don't forget This texas team just over six weeks
ago lost To, florida who two weeks later fired their
coach and then bench their. Quarterback they Fired Billy napier
and then BENCHED Dj. Lagway well who comes to. Town Bobby,
Patrino Taylor green and The Arkansas razorbacks Now ARKANSAS i,
mean they're. Trash they fired their coach And Sam pittman
(38:49):
they're looking for a new coach as. Well and maybe
before they leave the state Of, texas they'll go and
do a last sales. Pitch Tort, lashley the Former arkansas,
razorback who's there In. Dalla i'm gonna go over in this.
GAME i think it's gonna be a high scoring. Game
we know That Bobby petrino And arkansas can, score and
they can put up a lot of.
Speaker 2 (39:08):
Points and here's the great part About.
Speaker 3 (39:10):
Arkansas not only they put up a lot of, points
they give up even. More they're seven and two this
year on. Overs so give Me. Arkansas this is gonna
be kind of like a backyard football, game back and.
Forth points will be scored, galore and Maybe Archie manning
will actually look like a legitimate quarterback for this. Game
so and For, texas they're playing for nothing but pride
(39:33):
right now and trying to put good film on tape
for guys Like. Wingo we're going on to the next.
Level but they're seasons, over they're not making the. Playoffs
i'm gonna go over fifty seven arkansaw In. Texas betit,
Now thank me. Later Then i'm gonna go right to
the pros and the game THAT i spoke about in
the blowout. Segment i'm gonna stay right There Ford, field
(39:58):
early kick On. Sunday Hey Dan, campbell if you're gonna call,
plays why don't you give the ball to a guy
by the name Of Jamiir. Gibbs when you give the
ball To Jamiir, gibbs he will put up Yards.
Speaker 2 (40:14):
Again The giants are.
Speaker 3 (40:15):
SLUMPBUSTERS i Think Jamiir gibbs is going to have a
monster game On, sunday especially since the factley Last sunday
night against The eagles he was held to thirty nine
yards two weeks prior to that against The vikings twenty five.
Yards Hey, dan if you're gonna call the, plays give
it to your best. Player i'm gonna go, Here Jamiir
(40:36):
gibbs over seventy eight and a half rushing.
Speaker 4 (40:41):
Yards, okay all, Right So i'm gonna go back to THE,
nfl and this is probably my strongest game of the.
Weekend it's The Kids City chiefs at Home link three
taking on The Innieapolis. Colts two game lead here for
The colts seven games and seven weeks is a lot
(41:01):
of time for some bad stuff to happen here to
the eight and Two, colts they didn't cover the spread
in either game prior to their buy while allowing twenty
five and twenty seven points to opponents averaging nineteen and
a half in twenty four and a half points per.
Game their two straight up losses were on the road
versus defenses of The rams number two and scoring defense
(41:24):
and also The steelers kind of an OVERRATED d but
still pretty. Good every four or five weeks they have
a great, game and they did play extremely well Against,
indianapolis force turnover after, turnover and they did escape the
game Against, denvery who has the number three scoring, defense
with a one point win at. Home The chiefs right
(41:45):
in their top, five number four scoring, defense allowing just
eighteen point one points per. Game arrowhead one of the
toughest places to. Play as we all, know they are.
Desperate if the playoffs started right, Now Kansas City chiefs
would be out of the. Playoffs so the backs are
up against the. Wall, yep. Yep So Patrick mahomes did
(42:09):
not look great last. Week thought he was throwing flat.
FOOTED i thought his ball was flat last week and
their game missed on many. Many he had seventeen incompletions
in the. Game his top three, receivers you, know these
are guys like for C. Rice you, know he's got
other guys Like Hollywood, Brown he's got guys Like. Worthy
(42:29):
those three, guys their longest reception was eleven yards in the,
Game SO i think they'll be motivated. There they were
Using Kareem hunt too. Much no other running back touched
the ball in that, game so they need to use
all three running. Backs SO i thought that one of
the worst call games we've Seen Kansas city have. Here
so they'll get a Quarterback Danny. Dimes he's prone to
(42:52):
turn the ball over. Here let's Take Kansas city minus
the three before the line moves up. Here this is
my strongest luck of the.
Speaker 2 (43:00):
WEEK i like.
Speaker 3 (43:03):
IT i like It, lee And i'm gonna stick. It you,
know if it ain't, broke don't fix. IT i gave
in the blowout Segment lions minds ten and a half
goff over to fifty seven and a, half and The,
LOCKS i just went With Jamiir gibbs over seventy eight
and a half rushing yards and Then giants have nothing
to play. For Abdul, carter the number two pick in the,
draft like got benched because he fell asleep and he
(43:23):
was late to a. MEETING i, mean he's looking like
a major. Bust i'm gonna stick right with that. Game
and you, know it's, weirdly it's been nearly six weeks
Since i'm On Ross Saint brown had a one hundred yard.
Performance that Was october fifth against The Cincinnati. Bengals now
we had nearly one hundred a couple of weeks ago
against The, vikings but he was just under at ninety.
(43:45):
Seven god's gonna have a big. Game If god's gonna
go over two hundred and fifty seven and a half passing,
Yards he's gonna throw to three, guys well two of
them Because laporta's. Out it's gonna be, Obviously i'm On
Ross Saint brown And Jamison Williams, Okay So i'm On
Ross Saint. Brown, here great, spot eighty three and a
half receiving, Yards take it, over take it.
Speaker 2 (44:09):
Over so my locks are over.
Speaker 3 (44:12):
On, Arkansas texas fifty, Seven Jamiir gibbs over seventy eight
and a half rushing yards and Arsb i'm On Ross
Saint brown FROM usc over eighty three and a half receiving.
Speaker 2 (44:27):
Yards that is that's a great start to your.
Speaker 3 (44:32):
Weekend again out, there please bet, responsibly don't ever bet
more than you can't afford to. Lose and trust, Me
i've been there and you can get carried. Away and
remember here's another. Thing if you get down and you
think you're gonna get, even sometimes you put yourself in
a position to get even. Worse so be careful and bet.
