Speaker 1 (00:02):
Good evening. Welcome to Voice in the Wilderness. I'm Don
Noble with Pure Heart Ministries, and I welcome you tonight
with exceedingly abundantly and overflowing joy. I hope you had
a glorious resurrection weekend. Obviously, many of us we enjoy
being with our family, but most of all our focus
is on remembering what Christ did for us, the shedding

(00:25):
of his blood on the cross, and what that did
for you and I. So tonight I'm going to be
talking about is the blood necessary? That's the title? Is
the blood necessary? In other words, Jesus blood. Was it

(00:45):
necessary that he shed that blood? Did he need to
do that? I'm going to give you. Let's see, I
think I have nine reasons, Yes, nine reasons the shedding
of Jesus blood was necessary. The first is we're going

(01:08):
to be reading out of Hebrews chapter nine, verses eleven
through fourteen. I'm going to be reading out of the
New King James version only this evening. And just a
little aside, I have an allergic cough that's disturbing me,
and so I have a loss enge in my throat

(01:28):
and I'm hoping that I don't cough as I share
this information with you tonight. Number one, the blood of
Jesus is the ultimate sacrifice for the cleansing and forgiveness
of sin. So let's look at these set of scriptures

(01:49):
here Hebrews nine eleven through fifteen. But Christ came as
high priest of the good things to come, with a
greater and more perfect ten tabernacle not made with hands,
that is not of this creation, Not with the blood
of goats and calves, but with his own blood. He

(02:12):
entered the most holy place once for all, having obtained
eternal redemption. For if the blood of bulls and goats
and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the unclean sanctifies
for the purifying of the flesh, how much more shall
the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered

(02:38):
himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead
works to serve the living God. And for this reason
he is the mediator of the New Covenant by means
of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the
First Covenant, that those who are called may receive the

(03:01):
promise of the internal of the eternal inheritance. The blood
of bulls and goats only covered the sins of those
under that old covenant in the Old Testament, it only
covered their sins temporarily. And it covered their sins. That's

(03:26):
a keyword, covered their sins, And the next keyword is temporarily.
But Jesus' blood removed our sins permanently. And I like
what it says here. How much more shall the blood

(03:49):
of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit, offered himself without spot,
meaning he was holy without sin. With that spot he offered,
Jesus offered himself to God to do what to cleanse
your conscience and my conscience from dead works, to serve

(04:10):
the living God. Without that actually happening, you and I
would never have had a chance of having a clean conscience,
and it would have been very difficult for us to
serve the living God. But verse fifteen says for this reason,

(04:33):
Jesus is the mediator of the New Covenant, how by
means of his death. So it took him dying, It
took him shedding his blood to redeem us from the
transgressions or sins under that first covenant, that old covenant,

(04:56):
that those who are called may receive the promise, that's
you and I to receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
Eternal inheritance that means life with God forever. Hallelujah. Number two.
The Blood established a new covenant built on better promises.

(05:21):
Let's look at Hebrews eight. We're already in the book
of Hebrews, look at chapter eight and verse six. But
now he Jesus has obtained a more excellent ministry inas
much as he is also mediator of a better covenant

(05:44):
which was established on better promises. Have you ever thought
to yourself, what does it mean to have a better covenant.
I'll give you an example. Under the old Covenant, we
know that one of the laws of Moses was thou
shalt not commit adultery. So in the Old Testament, if

(06:12):
you committed adultery, you were stoned to death. Ooh, think
about today, how many people have committed adultery. Probably a
whole lot of people. But if you're a believer, we

(06:34):
have the ability to confess our sin and be cleansed
from that sin. And if we've already asked forgiveness of
that sin, let's just say, prior to becoming a Christian,
that sin is forgotten, never to be brought up again.

(06:55):
If you commit that sin again, as a believer, you
have the ability to confess your sins and know that
Jesus will cleanse you from your sin. Jesus isn't going
to throw rocks and stone you to death. So this

(07:17):
is a better covenant with a better promise. They did
not have the promise when the High Priest went into
the Holy of Holies and sprinkled the blood. That didn't
mean that these people had eternal salvation. So we have

(07:38):
a better promise. We have an eternal inheritance verse fifteen.
In chapter nine, we just read we have an eternal
the promise of an eternal inheritance, we get to inherit
eternal life. I mean. So this is definitely a new,
better covenant built on better promises. I think you would

(08:02):
have to say, amen. And I'm just giving you like
one or two examples. Number three, the blood cleanses and
purifies us from all sin. So if you turn two
first John Chapter one, verse seven, and John writes, but

(08:30):
if we meaning we believers, if we walk in the
light as he is in the light, we have fellowship
with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his
son cleanses us from all sin. It doesn't get any

(08:50):
clearer than that. So we have been cleansed from all sin.
And as we continue to walk in the light, we
know Jesus is in the light, and we want to
walk in the light always as well. We don't want
to walk in darkness. Number four, The blood provides reconciliation

(09:22):
and peace with God. So turn to the Book of Collostions,
chapter one and versus twenty and twenty one twenty twenty
twenty one, twenty two. It says, and by him Jesus

(09:48):
to reconcile all things to himself, by him, whether things
on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through
the blood of his cross. And you who were once
alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, Yet

(10:11):
now He has reconciled in the body of his flesh
through death, to present you holy and blameless and above
reproach in his sight. Isn't that amazing? So Jesus death
on the cross reconciled all things to himself and made

(10:40):
peace through the blood of his cross, so that you
and I are no longer enemies of God. If you
are a believer in Christ, you're no longer his enemy.
Who would want to be God's enemy? Yaoza. I mean, yet,
before we knew Christ, we were all enemies of God.

(11:06):
And I venture to say most people don't even realize that,
not being born again, they are enemies of God. So
verse twenty one. And you once who once were alienated
and enemies, think about the enemies in your mind. Of course,

(11:26):
by wicked works. You hear people all the time they
say bad things about God, and they don't have any
desire for the things of God. And you know they'll blaspheme,
they'll I mean, they'll curse, they'll say all kinds of crazy,
wicked things. But he reconciled, He reconciled them to himself.

(11:54):
He reconciled all things to himself. How to do that
in the b body of his flesh through death. That's
what his death accomplished. In other words, that's what the
blood accomplished. That blood helped us to have peace with
God and reconciliation. That's a big deal. Okay. Number five,

(12:25):
The blood defeated the devil, and we have power and
victory over sin, sickness, and death. Turned to the Book
of Revelation chapter twelve, verse eleven, and they overcame him.

(12:48):
Who's him? Who do they overcome Satan. And they overcame
Satan by the blood of the Lamb and by the
word of their test snemony, and they did not love
their lives to the death. So how do we have
that victory over the devil by the blood of the lamb.

(13:16):
Jesus is the Lamb of God. He was slain before
the foundation, and then we see that he died on
the cross and shed his blood, so he defeated the devil.
That blood he shed defeated the devil and gave us

(13:36):
power and victory over sin, sickness, and death. So we
overcome Satan by the blood of the Lamb. That's where
the power is. See pay attention to that. The power

(13:57):
comes by the blood of the Lamb, by the blood
of Jesus Christ. You could never overcome sin, sickness, death, hell,
and the grave without the blood of the Lamb. Not possible.
But we now have that reconciliation and we have that

(14:19):
peace with God, and we've overcome Satan by the blood
of the Lamb because of Jesus' blood. Can you shout
Hallelujah number six? The blood provides supernatural protection and we

(14:41):
can turn to Exodus twelve Exodus twelve. And of course
we're talking here about passover. And if we look at

(15:08):
verse we'll look at if you look at the verses
in Exodus twelve, like verses one through let's say Versus
one through ten, it's talking about taking a lamb each.

(15:31):
Each family had to take a lamb, and then they
were to This had to be a lamb without blemish,
a male of the first cheer, and then the whole
assembly had to kill it at twilight. And they had
to take some of the blood and put it on

(15:53):
the two doorposts and on the lintel that's the top
part of the door of the houses where they eat it.
Then they shall eat the flesh on that night, roasted
in fire, with unloven bread and bitter herbs. They shall
eat it. And they were told not to eat it

(16:14):
raw or boiled, but roasted in fire fire. And thus
verse eleven, thus you shall eat it with a belt
on your waist, your sandals on your feet, and your
staff in your hands. So you shall eat it in haste.
It is the Lord's passover. So they took that hissip,

(16:36):
dipped it in the blood of that lamb that was sacrificed.
They put that blood on the doorpulse on the lintel.
And then verse twelve says, for I will pass through
the land of Egypt on that night. This is the
Lord speaking, and I will strike all the first born
in the land of Egypt, both man and beast, and

(17:00):
against all the gods of Egypt. I will execute judgment.
I am the Lord. Now the blood shall be assigned
for you on the houses where you are. I'm in
Exodus twelve, verse thirteen. And when I see the blood,
I will pass over you, and the plague shall not

(17:23):
be on you to destroy you when I strike the
land of Egypt. So this day shall be to you
a memorial, and you shall keep it as a feast
to the Lord throughout your generations. You shall keep it
as a feast by an everlasting ordinance. Now I want

(17:48):
to go down to verse twenty nine Exodus twelve, twenty nine.

(18:09):
And it came to pass at midnight that the Lord
struck all the first born in the land of Egypt,
from the first born of Pharaoh who sat on his throne,
to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon,
and all the first born of the livestock. So Pharaoh

(18:32):
rose in the night he and all his servants and
all the Egyptians. And there was a great cry in Egypt,
for there was not a house where there was not
one dead. And so the oh I got ahead of myself.

(18:57):
Here verse twenty two. And you shall take a bunch
of hissup, dip it in the blood that's in the basin,
strike the lentil and the two doorposts with the blood,
and none of you shall go out of the door
of his house until morning, for the Lord will pass
through to strike the Egyptians. And when he sees the
blood on the lentil and the two door posts, the

(19:18):
Lord will pass over the door and not allow the
destroyer to come into your houses to strike you. And
you shall observe this thing as an ordinance for you
and your sons forever. And it will come to pass
when you come to the land which the Lord will
give you, just as he promised, that you shall keep

(19:39):
this service. And it shall be when your children say
to you, what do you mean by this service, that
you shall say, it is the passover sacrifice of the
Lord who passed over the houses of the children of
Israel in Egypt when he struck the Egyptians and delivered
our households. So the people bowed their heads and worshiped. Okay,

(20:04):
have you ever wondered why the Lord said to them,
you're going to keep this service, this passover forever, because
he already knew that Jesus was gonna be a sacrifice,
and he would be the one sacrifice that was going

(20:26):
to take care of everything. So this was a picture
of what was to come in the future. And so
that blood provided supernatural protection for these people. The death
angel could not touch those homes, those houses that had

(20:50):
the blood that was struck on the doorposts and the lintel.
The destroyer, the angel of Death, had to pass over.
That's why it's called passover, had to pass over those houses.
But it says there wasn't a house in Egypt where
there was not one dead. So the blood of Jesus,

(21:14):
now that wasn't the blood of Jesus. That was just
the blood of a lamb. But now look forward, we
know that Jesus is the lamb of God. Remember John
the Baptist, when he saw Jesus, he said, whoa behold
the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of
the world. So it's the blood of Jesus that provides

(21:42):
supernatural protection. If the blood of a real lamb could
provide supernatural protection from death, imagine back then, what do
you think the blood of Jesus can provide for you
and I? The blood of Jesus is stronger than death. Amen.

(22:05):
So it's an amazing picture. I love reading this because
you can see what happened then and then we look
to the future and we see Jesus shedding his blood
on the cross. He's the perfect sacrifice. He's the perfect
lamb that shed his blood for you and I. And

(22:27):
that blood, oh, the blood of Jesus. That blood is
stronger than death. That blood provides supernatural protection over you
and I. And if no one ever taught you, I'm
gonna tell you tonight. You know, I hung around those
old Pentecostals growing up, and they would plead the blood.

(22:52):
Why because they understood the power of the blood. You
don't even hear people talking about the blood of Jesus anymore.
I've said this many times. You know, churches don't sing
about the blood. In fact, they refuse to sing about
the blood. They won't preach about the blood, they won't
teach about the blood. And therefore, you know, people are

(23:15):
just not being taught well. Number one. Number two, this
is a truth that's so powerful. You know, no wonder
the enemy has infiltrated the church. Can I just get
to the point here. The enemy has infiltrated the Church
of America to weaken it, to soften it, so that

(23:40):
Christians no longer walk in the power of the Blood
of Jesus, in the authority of the Blood of Jesus.
And then you know, he wins. So he weakens the church.
And that's where we are, anemic church that does not

(24:02):
know how to stand, does not know how to war against.
You know, our enemy, we have a fierce enemy. Number seven.
The blood gives us access to enter the most holy place.

(24:29):
Now we're going to go back to the Book of Hebrews,
chapter ten and verse nineteen. And let me say this

(24:55):
before I even read that scripture. I said this before.
I'm going to say it again because not everyone listens
to every program. But Hebrews is a book that if
you get this under your belt and you really understand

(25:15):
the Book of Hebrews, it will really bring a lot
of freedom to you. This is a powerful book. And
even though we don't know who exactly wrote it. It
was written to hebrew Christians, that's for sure, Jewish Christians,

(25:39):
that's who the writer's writing to. So makes you think
that Paul wrote the book, and it does sound like
his writing. But this Book of Hebrews, let me tell you,
it is so chocked full of nuggets, gold nuggets that

(25:59):
if you if you begin to chew on this word
in the Book of Hebrews, you begin to chew and
meditate and chew and meditate on the scriptures in the
Book of Hebrews, it's gonna do so it's going to
change you. It's gonna change you, I guarantee you, because

(26:21):
you know, we know that there's power in the Word
of God, and that word is life giving and it
changes us it. You know, it renews our mind right,
it changes our wrong thinking, our bad thinking, our anemic thinking.
And it's just an incredible book. I I just I

(26:42):
want to encourage you to really spend time just chewing
and meditating in this fabulous book. But I'm looking at
the time and I'm not even gonna go there. I
was going to number seven, but I don't have time
to get into that. We'll finish that next week. But

(27:06):
again I just encourage you to, you know, maybe listen
to this message again so you're understanding about why the
Blood of Jesus is so necessary, so vital, so important
to us as believers. And again study the Book of
Hebrews chew and meditate on it. Well, this is Don Noble.

(28:14):

is vital. I need you to sow a seed. So
I'm really asking you to ask the Lord about that.
Many of you, many many of you listen to this
