Speaker 1 (00:03):
Good evening. Welcome to Voice in the Wilderness. I'm Don
Noble of Pure Heart Ministries, and I welcome you today
with exceedingly abundantly and overflowing joy. I certainly hope that
you enjoyed those Christmas songs I selected. I enjoyed listening
to it myself, and I hope that you had a
(00:24):
wonderful and just a really blessed Christmas with family and friends.
It's a special time of year, and of course here
we are almost at the end of twenty twenty four.
Isn't that hard to believe? It seems like time is
just flying. But tonight I want to talk to you
(00:44):
about moving with the wind of His spirit. In less
than two days, we will be entering a new year,
and we will have come to the quarter century mark.
That's hard to believe. Twenty five years were in the
(01:06):
first quarter of a century. Now, twenty five years ago,
it was all about Y two K. And I don't know,
I'm assuming that most of you who listen were around
for Y two K. And you know, i'd I'd love
if I could see your faces. We just love to
(01:28):
talk to you about you know, what did you think
about Y two K? And you know, it was the
fear of the computers, not knowing how to transition into
the new twenty first century with two zeros. People were
getting a little crazy trying to prepare for the world
to somehow have this disaster. And of course I did
(01:53):
my part. I had the most glorious, I mean, most
wonderful New Year's Eve party ever at my home. It
was just family, my godparents, my parents, several aunts, a cousin,
my husband, and I made up these gift bags for
(02:14):
each person and each one had a Coleman waterproof flashlight,
a one pound bag of ground coffee, and other little
goodies that I thought they may need. Several family members
still have their Coleman flashlight, including me. As we sat
(02:37):
around the fireplace, I had each person name an individual
that they felt was the most important or the most
influential of the twentieth century, and so my mother chose FDR.
And I really wasn't surprised. My mother was a strong
(03:00):
Democrat all of her life until Ronald Reagan came on
the scene. She and my father and they that was
the end of being a democrat. My father named Winston Churchill,
and of course I liked Winston Churchill, but oh my goodness,
it started a firestorm with my godfather, who hated Churchill,
(03:23):
and of course he had to take time to elaborate
his distaste of Winston Churchill. Then I had each person
name a song that they thought kind of I mean
(03:43):
of the twentieth century, you know, it kind of embodied
the spirit of the twentieth century, or it could have
just been a favorite song of theirs in the twentieth century.
And I asked them to sing it if they could.
Oh my gosh, it was hilarious. But everybody had a song,
believe it or not. Now, I didn't tell them this
(04:05):
ahead of time. This was very spontaneous. My godmother actually
sang this song don't Sit on Sit under the Apple
Tree with anyone else but me. She sang it. So
it was really precious. And you know, when it got
to be midnight, believe it or not, these people lived
(04:25):
almost an hour away, they stayed till midnight and the countdown,
and we threw bags and bags and bags of confetti
all over my house. I'm not kidding you. It took
years before I stopped finding confetti in the couches, but
(04:46):
it was. Oh, it was glorious. It was such a
wonderful time. And if only iPhones had been invented, then,
my goodness, I would have their voices and fail is
to hear and see again. And that's just the you know,
the disappointing thing about that time. I don't even think
(05:10):
I had my camera out, and maybe I did, but
you know, it's wow just to be able to record
them and see them. Ugh. So take advantage of that
now that you have phones that can do that kind
of thing. When you have family gatherings and birthdays and whatever,
you know, record it all so that you have it.
(05:35):
So twenty twenty five, what lies ahead? Yesterday the wind
was pretty fierce at my house. I mean it was
blowing between twenty five and thirty miles per hour from
about six pm until early hours of the night, and
(05:56):
I had the television turned off. It sounded like a
train was coming. That's how loud the sound of the
wind was, and it was it was scary. And I
heard this one large sound, so I opened the door
to see if on my deck something you know, I
still have chairs out there and another table and chairs,
(06:18):
so I thought, maybe, you know, a chair flew in
the air or something, so I opened the door. I
could barely get outside. The wind was just blowing at
me so strong. Now, this morning, I watched the clouds
and they and there was sunlight that was cracking through
(06:39):
the clouds. And I mean the wind was probably around
ten to fifteen miles per hour, and the clouds were
moving west to east very fast, like like it was weird.
You know, you look up in the sky you see clouds,
and they're usually rather stationary. These clouds were moving at
(07:00):
like it almost seemed like the speed of light. And
I sensed in my spirit this quick moving the wind
of the Spirit is moving us to accelerate in these
last days. Acceleration is moving forward with greater speed and
(07:22):
greater force. And as we lean into the Holy Spirit,
I believe he will take us higher in the spirit
to soar above. And He has stated in the scriptures
that we are seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
(07:45):
That entails us walking by faith to see our lives,
our situations, and our circumstances from Heaven's perspective. So as
we accelerate in the things of the Spirit, we're no
longer going to be looking at the earth. The circumstances
(08:08):
from an earthly perspective, which is really a carnal perspective,
which is really a total lack of faith. If that's
how you're looking at any situation in your life, anything
that pops up. We're called to walk in the spirit,
(08:28):
Paul said, and by this spirit, so that means that we,
by faith, are to be looking at all situations circumstances
from Heaven's perspective. I believe the Lord is also moving
us to draw closer to him. Now, I've said this
(08:52):
recently in the last couple months because I sense that
I feel that I know that what the Lord wants. Why,
because we're talking about we're talking about the Lord's return,
the imminent return of the Lord. Now, I don't think
(09:17):
it's that far away, and many other Christians feel the same.
Many other ministers and leaders in the Body of Christ
feel the same. Listen to any any minister on TV
and you will hear that his return is imminent. So
(09:41):
why wouldn't the Spirit of the Lord want to be
accelerating our relationship to draw closer to the Lord. This
is what David wrote in Psalm thirty seven, verses three
through seven. He said, trust in the Lord and do good.
(10:04):
Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.
I want to stop there because people have predicted. I mean,
the economic situation of the US is still very precarious,
still very difficult. People are still having a hard time.
The prices of things have not gone down. Right. Gasoline's
(10:28):
still high, food is off the charts, everything's off the charts.
And President Trump said, not too long ago he saw
that it was going to be hard to get those
prices down. Now. He didn't say that on the campaign trail,
but he said that after he won. So you know,
(10:52):
people are wondering, well, how you know, David said, trust
in the Lord. Okay, so this is what you're going
to have to do. As you accelerate in the things
of the Spirit, You're going to have to trust in
the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely
(11:14):
in the land and prosper. So we don't look at
with our natural eyes look at the economy of the
United States and say, oh my, oh me, Now what
we trust in the Lord. We trust in his resources.
He's our source. Amen, He's our source of everything. And
(11:40):
we can actually live safely in the land and prosper
when we do those two things, trust in him and
do good. And then he wrote, take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you your heart's desire. So that's not
(12:02):
predicated on anything about what's going on in the world
at all. Even if another crazy virus comes. Take delight
in the Lord and he will give you your heart's desires.
That's a promise. These are promises, and all his promises
(12:27):
are yes and amen. Then David writes, commit everything you
do to the Lord. Everything, what's everything, everything, everything committed
to the Lord. Trust him and he will help you. Right.
(12:52):
This is not rocket science. This is very simple. Then
he says, he will make your innocence radiate like the dawn,
and the justice of your cause will shine like the
noonday sun. You know some people, I know, the Alliance
Defending Freedom Fund. I mean, these people are always defending
(13:16):
Christians who are up against it. You know, like Jack,
the guy in Colorado that was baking the cakes, you know,
decorating these fanciful cakes. And you know, the gay people
came against him and he's fought that how many times
in the Supreme Court, the Colorado Court. I mean, this
(13:40):
is what God's words said. He said he will make
your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of
your cause will shine like the noon Dane's noon day sun.
So hey take hope, he continues, Be still in the
(14:04):
presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act.
Now you remember last January the word of the Lord
was be still and know that I am gone. See
God's going to keep speaking, still speaking that. And I
mentioned that to you in the fall because the Lord
(14:27):
again was highlighting that. Be still, be still and know
that I am God. David writes, do not worry about
evil people who prosper or fred about their wicked schemes.
I mean, just don't even pay attention to these people.
(14:51):
This is there. These are politicians, these are Hollywood people,
you know, doing very wicked things, and you see them
prosper a lot. Don't fret about it, don't worry about it.
Just don't even pay attention to it. Now verses twenty
three and twenty four of Psalm thirty seven, he writes,
(15:14):
the Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights
in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they
will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.
So if you're a believer in Christ. He's directing your steps,
(15:37):
and guess what, He delights in every detail of your life.
You know, it's very easy because we can't see Jesus,
we can't see the Holy Ghost, we can't see the Father.
So we think that we can tend to think. Oh,
(15:57):
you know, they're not even aware. They don't even know
what I'm going through. They have no clue what I'm
doing today. Da da da da. Oh. Yeah. The scripture
says he sees everything. Now can you picture this? Can
you picture your sweet heavenly Father holding your hand wherever
(16:18):
you go? It says here, though they stumble, they will
never fall for or because the Lord holds him by
the hand. So just imagine. Imagine every day, you know,
you're walking through the house, you're getting in the car,
you're driving down the road, you're going to the grocery
(16:38):
store or the bank or whatever. He's holding your hand.
He's holding your hand. That should encourage you. It should
encourage you. He is holding your hand, he's guiding your steps,
(16:59):
and he's he's delighting in every detail of your life.
The wind of his spirit is gently moving us to
a fresh new fear of the Lord. This isn't the
(17:19):
first time I've talked about the fear of the Lord.
Probably once a year I talk about the fear of
the Lord because we need to hear about the fear
of the Lord, especially as we as this church age
is ending and we're coming up to the point of
the rapture. And I wonder, I wonder as I say that,
(17:47):
how many of you listening even understand what I mean
by the fear of the Lord. And I'm just I'm asking, please,
don't just have ears to listen, but have your spiritual
ears tuned to the Holy Spirit. And if you've listened
(18:12):
for any length of time to voice in the Wilderness,
you know that part of my call is preparing you
to meet your Lord one day. I'm preparing you to
get there. And surely you want him to say, well done,
good and faithful servant. You surely don't want him to say, oh,
(18:36):
wicked servant, depart from me. The fear of the Lord
is it's awakening to the reverence that is due him. Now,
if you ignore him all day, and you ignore him
all night, then you don't have the fear of the Lord.
(19:00):
The fear of the Lord causes a person to want
to behave in such a way that pleases the Lord.
That's probably the best definition of the fear of the Lord.
It causes a person to want to behave in such
a way that pleases the Lord. Now listen, listen to
(19:24):
me carefully. If you constantly bicker with your spouse, or
bicker with your children, or fight with your neighbors, you
have no fear of the Lord. I'm just I'm just
being straight out. You have no fear of the Lord
because he's opposed. He's opposed to contention, division, anger, jealousy, fighting. Yeah.
(19:55):
So we are entering a new year. Decide now to
walk in the newness of life in Christ. Make a
decision now. See, I'm not going to give you like
I used to. Do you know, fifteen resolutions to make
for the new year. No, No, this is a whole
(20:18):
new this is a whole new deal. Here, decide now
that you're going to walk in the newness of life
in Christ. Period. Surrender to Him and let him fix you.
If you're struggling with issues, if you've got baggage that
needs taken care of, don't drag all that baggage into
(20:38):
twenty twenty five. Get rid of it now. Now, I
believe this is going to be your best year. I do.
I think twenty twenty five is going to be your
best year. I think you're ready to walk up to
the plate and hit a home run. And you know what,
(20:59):
that's what I'm believing. You're gonna walk up to the
plate and hit a home run this year. You're not
going to be complacent and pathetic and weak and anemic.
And you know, now, you're the Church of Jesus Christ.
You're a believer. So I'm believing that you will step
(21:21):
up to that plate and maybe you're gonna knock one
out of the park. Walk circumspectully, keep your heart with
all diligence. Pray like tomorrow maybe your last day on earth.
See the good in people. It's easy to be critical.
(21:42):
Speak blessings over people. That's what I've been doing lately,
people that I just ah, you know, they you know,
you just oh, you just think, oh, my goodness, gracious,
why are people so irritable? I just speak a blessing
over them. When you come home from work, or you
(22:03):
come home from school, or you come home from going
to the bank, imagine Jesus is waiting for you at
the door. Just imagine him waiting for you at the door.
You walk in and boom, there's Jesus. Oh, he's so
glad to see you. He's with you and he's been
(22:24):
holding your hand. But you know, Jesus is supernatural, so
he can be in a couple places. You know, he
knows how to he knows how to leave the car
and suddenly be in the house and you open the
door and bam, there he is. So he's waiting for
you at the door, and he's in the door, and
he's there. You know. Uh, that might give you the
(22:48):
fear of the Lord. Let the wind of his spirit
draw you into the word of God. Let God's word
wash over you, flood your soul, and transform you into
the new creation you were created to be. Ephesians five
twenty six says the Word washes and cleanses us. Live
(23:13):
and breathe God's holy Word. Say that to yourself. I'm
going to live and breathe God's holy Word. Hebrews four
twelve says the Word of God is alive and powerful.
It's sharper than the two It's sharper than the sharpest
two edged sword, dividing asunder your soul from your spirit
(23:35):
even to the joints and marrow, and and it's a
discerner of the thoughts and intents of your heart. So
it exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. That's how the
Word begins to do its transforming work. But you've got
to read it now. Picture a tree with many, many limbs.
(24:01):
You're the tree, and the limbs are the things that
need to go. So you get out your handy dandy
chainsaw out there, and you're going to cut off all
these branches with your handy dandy chainsaw so you can
make good use of this log to build your cabin
(24:21):
in the same way, you spiritually cut off the dross,
the junk in your life that keeps you from being
pure and holy in most of all, which keeps you
from being like Jesus, so that you can take that
log and build your spiritual house and it will be
(24:43):
a strong foundation. Hallelujah. I talked about this before Christmas.
I talked about the light Jesus, and I believe that
the wind of his spirit is moving quickly to keep
us walking in the light. So listen to Ephesians five
(25:05):
one through verses fourteen. Excuse me, verses twenty one through
twenty Ephesians five. This is in the NLT New Living Translation.
Imitate God. Therefore, in everything you do, because you are
His dear children, live a life filled with love, following
(25:26):
the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself
as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.
Let there be no sexual, immorality, impurity, or greed among you.
Such sins have no place among God's people. Obscene stories,
(25:47):
foolish talk, course jokes, these are not for you. Instead,
let there be thankfulness to God. You can be sure
that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the
kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person
is an idolater worshiping the things of this world. Don't
(26:10):
be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins,
for the anger of God will fall on all who
disobey him. Don't participate in these things people do, for
once you were full of darkness. Once you were full
of darkness, but now now you have light from the Lord.
(26:34):
So live as people of light, for this light within
you produces only what is good and right and true. Certainly,
carefully determine what pleases the Lord. Take no part in
the worthless deeds of evil and darkness. Instead, expose them.
(26:57):
It is shameful even to talk about the things that
ungodly people do in secret. But their evil intentions will
be exposed when the light shines on them. For the
light makes everything visible. This is why it is said, awake,
o sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will
(27:19):
give you light. So be careful how you live. Don't
live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make
the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don't
act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.
Don't be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead,
(27:44):
be filled with the Holy Spirit, singing psalms and hymns
and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the
Lord in your hearts. And give thanks to every for everything,
to God the Father in the name of our Lord
Jesus is Christ. This, my friend, is what living in
(28:04):
the light is all about. So let the wind of
His spirit lead you, guide you, and teach you all things.
Happy New Year, blessings to you. May His joy and
peace saturate your very being, and may you be conformed
to Christ in twenty twenty five. See you next year.
