for Tyler Malley, and what a game it was for
(01:06):
the Rangers. Still not enough offense, but enough to win,
so that's good. They shut the Angels out in game
one and retake soul possession of first place in the
American League. West Hi there and welcome into the DLLs
Sports Studios. Welcome to the DLLs Rangers podcast. John Radigan
here with Jeff Wilson there and the revelation even before
(01:29):

eight year old profit. And he is grabbing one of
the krumbles. I think we've all got to take one.
I know that the Queen is dying to get her
hands on one of these Crumble cookies as well. So anyway,
(02:10):
happy birthday Profit. He does such a great job for us,
including roping Mike Trout as it were in that opening video.

into that if you become a die hard first, So
pay the thirty six, become a die hard, and let's
do this. We'll remind you of that a little later
on in the show as well. Meantime, Jeff, holy moly,
(03:17):
did you get through your cookie? I did good because
I'm gonna let you talk for a long time now
so I can get through one. But what a game
last night. I mean, just again, it's obviously and you
know even hitters will tell you this. It starts with pitching.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
Yeah, the first question in the post game was not
about Tyler Malley, and it was a very relevant question.
But Bruce watch you said, well, the story is Tyler Malley,
and he's right. I mean, you know, when you're not
getting any offense, you gotta get pitching. And you know
you're you're buying your your offense a little bit of time.
(03:53):
Six scoreless innings I thought, you know, it wasn't a
clean six scoreless innings, you know, being nitpicky here he
went to full count a lot, walked a couple guys,
but he had the strikeout stuff going. All of his
pitches were working. His fastball was really really good. I mean,
though it wasn't throw it hard, he spots it, so
(04:15):
you know, it's it's very promising. This is three very
good starts for him now, and what he leads Baseball
and e r a right among qualified pitchers. I mean,
it's it's pretty crazy, you know, and you definitely would
have fought that after his first there. Now the thing
about his first start, even though it will only last
at an Indian to you only give up the one run, right,
(04:36):
you know the boat you got him out of there
and plenty of time before the damage was done. And
so a very pleasant surprise. It is four starts like
he's made thirty starts. No, you know, so there's a
long way to go. He has a lot to continue
to to work on, a lot of road ahead. But
it's very good. It's been very very good. And probably
(04:58):
the I don't I would save the surprise really of yeah, yeah,
maybe the whole pitching.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
Yeah, I wrote in one of our intro segments on
the deal. You know, he's he's the best pitcher on
the team right now this year so far, right, which
is surprising. And there's a couple that will have something
to say about it, maybe more than a couple before
it's all said and done. But like we say, you know,
a month into the season, ish, let's take a look
(05:23):
at where he ranks in the American League in so
many categories. It's not just era, but look at there
opponent's batting average, he's first, opponent's ops. He's in second.
The e RA he's in first. I mean, he's the
top of the heap in so many pitching categories. I
saw one of the national pundits there you see two
(05:44):
and hits per nine inning, that's first as well. ERA,
it says second. Okay, so but hits per nine inning
he's he's first as well. The uh. I saw one
of the pundits, John Morosi, on the on one of
the national shows, you know, is touting him as not
only in early cy young candidate, but at this point
an early consideration for an All Star, which would be
(06:06):
pretty cool.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
Yeah, let's take smaller steps here, John John Morosi. Ye, John, Well,
me too, I repeated it. So I would start with
all Star. The guy's been an All Star before. He's
on a good team, and he's gonna get opportunities to
win games. Wins always attract, you know, the players. The
players vote on the pitchers, all right, it's not a
(06:28):
fan vote. So what do players look at? Probably e
RA A and wins. Sure. I don't think a lot
of them are diving into you know, fip and whip
and things like that. Yeah, you know, they're they're he
who has those wins, who has the best era, let's
do it. So he's got a chance there, he does,
(06:50):
but I mean again, the All Star Game is three
months away and work work as ahead. But you know,
for a guy who really didn't pitch, he pinched less
than Jacob de Grom in twenty three. He came back
earlier than de Gram last year, but only made three
starts before he had a stress reaction in his shoulder. Yeah,
(07:11):
so you know, after September or after August, late August,
he was gone, or maybe it was early September. We
never saw him again. You know, he went home. His
wife was having a baby, so the team allowed him
to go away. They're like, you're not thrown again, excuse
me the rest of the year, so go on and
take care of your family. And and you know the
thing about spring training, you really didn't hear anything about him, right,
(07:34):
which is good. Yeah, that's a good thing, you know.
And then he just went out there and was steady
and got his work done. And really the first start
was a bit of a surprise, you know, because it
was not at all what you'd seen in spring training.
Then he rebounded, Then he was really good at Wrigley Field,
and then he was I thought he was better. Honestly,
I wrigly, but and he was pretty good last night.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
Sure, yeah. And it's a thing where he you know,
he said in some of his postgame comments that he
hasn't felt right since twenty twenty one, which is now
getting to be a long time. And obviously we know
he didn't feel right in twenty three, but the entirety
of twenty two he said he was not. And he
had gone to the Twins at that point and he
said he just wasn't feeling right. I wasn't and then
(08:18):
ultimately sort of we found out why. But you got
to go all the way back. You know, you're talking
four years now since he's he's felt like himself, and
and his numbers were good, really good in twenty one.
So if you get that Tyler Mallee back, you're you're
you know, you're in great. I mean, think of that rotation.
When Jacob de Gram gets himself righted, Nathan Ivaldi will
(08:41):
be himself, then you got Tyler mally and then Jack
le I mean, that's a heck of a rotation. I
think he even said it. You know, it could be
the best rotation in baseball. And it's absolutely true.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
Yeah, I mean if Evaldi and a Groam performance there
levels they're maybe not their ceilings, but at you know,
near levels they performed at previously. And if he rebounds
and is like the twenty one Malley and then you
have what looks like a promising Jack Lyder, you have
(09:14):
John Gray and Cody Bradford coming back, you have you
have Kamar Rocker whose ceiling is absolutely high. But but
Maley's always when he's been healthy, he's struck guys out.
You know, the thirty three season we talk about he
had two hundred and ten strikeouts. Yeah, that's pretty good. Yeah,
(09:34):
in one hundred and eighty innings, you know, and that's
that's a big number. Both of them are big numbers really,
you know, kind of looking at things these days. One
to eighties a big number, Yes, it is. And so
so it's in him, and you know it's a big
year for him. It's a walk ear. You know, he's
headed to free agency after the year. I tend to
(09:54):
see that that's you know, a motivating factor a lot
of times for guys, and so we'll see if this
carries through. But be excited about what you've seen, but
also don't etch his name on the Siah.
Speaker 3 (10:11):
Yeah, you always have to temper it. That said nine
k's last night, which is a season high, but that
sort of, you know, that's playing to his strength and
he's so one of his quotes that he took from
a pitching coach I can't remember his name when he
was in Cincinnati. He's like, go out there and be
great at what you're good at, you know, Yeah, and
(10:31):
you have to basically play the hits. Play to your
strengths is essentially what they're saying.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
Yeah, it was Derek Johnson, who's the Reds pitching coach,
who I believe had come from Vanderbilt, so he went
from Vanderbilt to the majors. Kind of just a new
line of thinking and a very forward thinking maybe analytics,
a driven guy. But anyway, that's pretty basic stuff, and
(10:57):
that's something that the Rangers have really you hear from
their pitching prospects have zeroed in on here the last
few years. Alejand Rosario talked about it last year when
he was on the Weekly Show. We had Paul bone
Zani on the other day, the kid from who went
to the South Lake Carroll He's from Grapevine and he said,
(11:19):
that's exactly what they told him to do too. Just
be great at what you do best, and you know,
and it makes sense, you know, dominate and get as
good as you can get with what you already know
how to do, and then you can sprinkle in a
change up sure, or a slider something that is something
that that that's new once you get the foundation laid.
(11:39):
So but that's cool though, I mean, you know, these
guys every stop of the way they need to learn
something and carry something with them. And it's that's a
pretty easy one to to think about, you know, and
you stop and think about it's like, yeah, that makes
that makes perfect sense. But it resonated with Tyler Malley
and it still resonates to this well.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
And that's the point. That message was probably delivered in
various ways from almost every coach he's ever had, right,
and yet somehow, you know, Derek gets credit for it. Right,
It's like, yeah, that's who told me that? Well, every
coach basically yeah, once maybe not your little league coaches,
but pretty much every coach wants you to do that.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
Yeah, and some you know sometimes, but sometimes you have
to get hit over the head with it and be
directly told you know, you know, some guys might say, hey,
your fastball is really good, let's work on it. Let's
let's keep working on that. And it didn't resonate. And
then you know, be great at everything you do, yep,
and so or great at what you do the best anyway,
(12:42):
go ahead.
Speaker 3 (12:42):
Yeah, So tonight's pitching matchup will feature the guy who
we were initially thinking would be pitching last night, and
that's Patrick Corbin. He'll get out there for the second
time as a Ranger. It's Corbin against Soriano. And that
is the interesting thing. The the Kokuchi fell to Oho
and three last night, and and you know, our boy
(13:04):
Tyler Maley went to three and Oh. Tonight it's it's
Patrick out there against Soriano for the Angels, and it'll
be interesting. Patrick Corbin accounted very well for himself in
his first start for the Rangers the other day.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
I agree with that at Wrigley Field. It was his
first game situation all year. He didn't have spring training,
he didn't make a rehab start. He threw you know,
simulating games and things like that. It's different, you know,
and he's at an historic venue where he's very familiar with.
Though you know he'd pitch at Wriggly many times before, sure,
(13:40):
but you know your first time when it's the lights
are on and there's multiple dicks on the field and
you know, more than one hundred fans in the stands, right,
and he went out there and he did well. So
it should, in theory, get better the more arm Strengthy has.
He's having some extra rest. He hasn't pitched in a week,
so he should be able to give the Rangers more
(14:04):
than the five Indians. Of course, you know it's we
still have the track records glaring and burning in our
in our minds. But let's give him a little credit.
You know, people are allowed to get better. Blake Bryant
and a little negative there, But yeah, I don't I don't disagree.
You know, the Angels, you know, if their biggest hitters,
(14:29):
it would seem our right handed hitters at the trout
and and uh so Laire and what Tyler Ward has
like five home runs and and that Kiren Kiren like
Iron Meyron Byron Paris. You know he bats right handed,
so he's gonna have his hands full. But I also
think that the Rangers, like I said yesterday, swapped Corbin
(14:50):
and Malley, so that Corbyn only had to pitch once
on this homestand and potentially make only one more start
as a Ranger because Lighters should be back to Tuesday.
I saw that question asked earlier by Daniel Tuesday, or
maybe maybe he asked about yeah, no this weekend.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
Yeah. Boach mentioned that yesterday that that might and he
might not be making a rehab start. There's still they're
still weighing that, so we'll see how that plays out.
But yes, because Tyler Malley did what he does, Rangers
started this series off in great fashion. They get the victory. However,
seven or eight runs sounds very difficult right now, even now,
(15:31):
even after the four nothing win. But let's talk about
the offense. Let's talk about how they can continue to
pull their way out of this offensive. Malays next, it's
the DLS Rangers podcast. What is today?
Speaker 2 (15:45):
Wednesday?
Speaker 3 (15:46):
It is, and it's time to talk about monarch money.
So I spent the afternoon yesterday literally having you can't
see it here, but I had every one of my
fingernails pulled straight off my hand. Oh, excruciatinglyinful, not quite
that bad. But I went to the tax man, my
accountant awful. It's my least favorite day of the year
(16:07):
by far. And thankfully there's something like monarch Money. I
would encourage you to avail yourself to monarch Money because
it will It's not only you know, one of those
services that helps you sort of track your money, which
it does do, but it also helps you manage your
money and it helps you grow your wealth. And that
(16:28):
is so important in these times of financial uncertainty, which
I would say are pretty much all times. We always
say that, yeah, yeah, these times are financially uncertain right,
so pretty much all times are that way, go to
monarch Money and they'll help you, I promise you. And
if you use the code DLLs at monarchmoney dot com
you get fifty percent off your first year of service
(16:51):
with monarch money, yep.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
And you know they can help you find room and
your budget for tickets to sporting events, search plays, comedy shows,
you name it. With game Time and you know, Nicole
is become a really personal friend Christmas Christmas card list
type of friend.
Speaker 3 (17:11):
Anyway.
Speaker 2 (17:12):
Game Time is the app or you can get tickets
on the secondary market. They show you your seat, they
show you the price. There's nothing hidden there and it's
just it's great and you can get it for anything, events,
for anything in any city. It's not just our market.
So if you're going to go to Sacramento next week
to watch the Rangers, by god, you can get you
(17:32):
a ticket to that game. So anyway, download the game
Time app twenty dollars off your first purchase with the code.
D LS terms apply. First things first, So you got
to download the game Time app.
Speaker 3 (17:45):
So we're going to get to the offense. But there's,
as usual, not not a whole lot to say. However,
before we get to it, let's talk about the bullpen
last night too, Jeff, which threw up some zeros. You know,
they had to use four instead of three relievers. I mean,
but that's okay, you know, and they used their big three.
(18:06):
I guess right, they got of them Garcia of course,
and Chris Martin and Luke Jackson an Inny or I
guess well, Robert only pitched two thirds of it.
Speaker 2 (18:18):
Yeah, and Martin only pitched a third of anything because
during his one at bat, they came out to the
mound to visit him, and Bruce Bochy said it was
hip tightness. Afterward, he said, Chris Martin wanted to pitch
the eighth and was expecting to pitch the eighth, but
Boach said no, I took him out. I talked to
(18:38):
Chris afterward. He said that he has dealt with that
type of thing before and it's just a little stiff
and he should be fine. Now. You know, I saw
somebody being snarky on Twitter that he probably means he's
going on the injury list. You know, there's something to it,
as cautious as the Rangers play it, but I wouldn't
(19:00):
expect to see Chris Martin pitching today. I'm thinking he's
going to get some time with Raoul Cardenius, the team
massage therapist, get that thing rubbed out, and be back
for the finale. But Jacob Webb came in bitch a
scoreless ending. They didn't have to use Seawan Armstrong. They
elected to use Jackson with the foe and lead in
the in the ninth, and uh, he did just fine.
(19:22):
So the bullpen is good. Yeah, yeah, there's no real
other way to say it. The bullpen's been pretty good.
The guys in the leverage spots have been good, and
you know, we got to throw Hobe Milner in there,
right Yeah, he's been he's been so good and come
out of spring training we keep talking about it was like,
God almighty's this guy even going to make the team
(19:44):
or how does he need to go on the injured list?
Hurt little toe or something. But he's been fantastic, so
he may get an opportunity if it's at the right
pocket for him to go in there and throw his
Frisbees and get guys out.
Speaker 3 (19:59):
Yeah. So if you they didn't see Jeff's story today,
maybe that means you're not a diehard and you need
to become one for thirty six dollars. But Jeff wrote
today about a very specific thing, the likes of which
we talked about recently, and that is, you know, using
small ball and using the bunt and sort of eschewing
(20:22):
what analytics necessarily say. Analytics doesn't like steals the Rangers
have been stealing. Analytics doesn't like bunts, particularly not sacrifice bunts.
But it doesn't like bunts, right, Analytics doesn't like a
lot of these things. Well, if it weren't for a
bunt and a steal and then advancing to third on
an error, Jeff Leota Taveres wouldn't have scored the first
(20:42):
run of the game.
Speaker 2 (20:43):
Yeah, well, okay, well, let's go back in time, Shaly
before the twenty twenty three team that won the World Series.
The two teams that went to the World Series were
the ten and eleven teams. Man is by Ron Washington. Yeah,
and what did Ron Washington love? Small ball? Yep, stealing bases,
going first, a third, putting pressre sure on the defense.
So even though in the moment, Ron Washington probably didn't
(21:04):
care for what Leodi Taveris did last night, afterward, wash
Is probably like, damn, that's pretty good baseball. Yeah, getting,
but right now, these guys need base runners. So if
you can get on bass by button for a hit,
go do it. I don't I don't recommend it for
Jock Peterson or Jake Berger, but you know, Leodi can
do it. Probably a couple other guys I know Josh
(21:25):
Smith has tried at a time, though I think that
they like him swinging the bat. And again, you know,
they don't want Leodi to bunt every time. It gets
a little a little predictable. But you know, he's so
fast and and can just he's worked so hard at
it because they've been telling him for a couple of years, Leodi,
this is gonna be a real weapon for you, and
he he and Tony Beasley been working on it a lot,
(21:48):
and that the bunt hit last night was the third
of his career against a left hander. Now granted he
doesn't play against a lot of left handers, but it's
something that hadn't happened in almost three years. So he's
he's out there, he recognizes it. He said that, you know,
the the Rangers have been running more. I mean Jonah
(22:08):
him again, you know, once again, tried to steal a
base last night.
Speaker 3 (22:10):
Yeah, he stole it.
Speaker 2 (22:12):
I mean, all the interference on Higashioka, gosh Yoka tried
to steal third, you know. So there they have struck
on something, I think, and I you know, it's it's
something that they can use to their advantage. You know,
there were times where you didn't want to run ahead
of uh, run ahead of of Corey Seeger, you know,
(22:34):
leave an open base and let them pitch around him.
But even Simeon has tried to steal some bags. So Yo,
get on the base however you can, whether it's grinding
out a walk or whether it's laying down a bun
get on first base. That's that's pretty pretty fundamental element
of winning baseball is having base runners. Now, if you
can manufacture run, steal a base, you know, you have
(22:57):
to get the third you know, get him over, get
him in. Marcus Simon, great job hitting the fly ball.
He almost hit a home run, but yeah, he was
up there knowing that a fly ball would give the
Rangers a run. And that goes back to Wash who
was a Simon mentor do what the game asks you
to do, productive outs and that doesn't count asn't that bat?
You know, it counts as an out, but doesn't count
(23:19):
as in a bat in his stats. But that's the
stuff that players really appreciate. You don't see it enough.
The Rangers needed again, while they're waiting for these hitters
to get going, they got a score. However, the can
you know, and you know, I did a little We
had joked about pulling a lineup out of the hat,
(23:39):
and so I did a little research on it. And
Billy Martin, Yeah, who should be in the Hall of Fame.
Billy Martin should be in the Hall of Fame as
a manager. There's no doubt about it.
Speaker 3 (23:48):
No doubt every team managed he took.
Speaker 2 (23:52):
Exactly the one World Series anyway, the seventy two Tigers.
It was the first time he tried it in the
major leagues.
Speaker 3 (23:59):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (23:59):
And who who's the first thing he pulled out of
the hat, Norm Cash for the leadoff hitter. Not exactly
a speed burner, big old power hitter. He did it
with the seventy seven Yankees. Yeah, and know what every
time he did and they won. It Just it just
shakes things up, makes guys think differently, have a little
fun with your failure, you know, and lighten the mood
(24:20):
maybe whatever it is. If these guys are feeling the
pressure to perform, I would say maybe Peterson and Berger
because they're newcomers. I don't think Simeon is worried about
it at all. Just find some way to do it.
But small ball is a good way to do it,
putting pressure on the defense with things that that the
moneyball era wiped down, as he were alluding to. And
(24:42):
you know, you don't want to give away out to
like sacrifice bunts, okay, but sometimes you know, if you
can't score a run, do whatever you can to try
to get one across.
Speaker 3 (24:51):
Yep. Yeah, it's great and I like and by the way,
Corey Seeger drawing a walk yesterday, I like because this
is one of the most aggressive swingers you know, in
the game, and he'll swing at the first pitch almost
every time. So you know, he realizes and to your
point about Sime, and he ain't worried, you know, he's
not worried about anything as far as you know where
(25:14):
he stands right now. But he realizes, Okay, well it's
not going great for me right now. So if I
can get on base via the walk, I'm gonna do it.
There's a lot of different ways to get on base,
and certainly the walk is one of them, and it
can be a weapon. And like say, the Ring Weather
Rangers have eight hits last night, you know, it's just
still not you know, it's not like they're tearing the
(25:35):
cover off the ball now.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
It was good to see though that, you know, him
and Higashioka back to Macdouble's there that hey, that's big,
you know, and having those two guys in the lineup together, Boach,
you're not being afraid about losing the catcher potentially with
one of them at d h. You know, you do
what you have to do as against left hander, So
you wanted the extra right handed bat in there. It
(25:59):
was good, you know, And and I just think that
that every you know, everything's there, as we've talked about.
But the bottom of the line of producing. All right,
let's say, uh, let's say Jonaheim's batting ninth today. All right,
he singles. If Leodi's in there in the ninth hole
and the zero to zero in the seventh, are you
gonna bunt Leodi? You might want to consider it? Sure,
(26:22):
put put on a play, put on it. I wouldn't
do a hit and run necessarily, because I don't know
that he makes enough contact. But you know, then flip
the lineup. Let's Simon and Seeger try to get him home, right, Hey,
what the hell?
Speaker 3 (26:33):
And actually you might not have to worry about Johnny.
He'll just steal the bag, that's right. I mean, he's
a speed demon all of a sudden, so uh, you know. Yeah,
and you you pointed out in the in the article
Jeff too about Nick Ahmed resigning. Uh, and he's going
to Arizona right now.
Speaker 2 (26:50):
He's well, yeah, I think that's where he lives. You know,
he's with the Nubacks for a long time. I think
he lives there, but he had a really good spring training. Yeah,
hit some home runs, played defense, Boach, he knows him
for all the years in the Al West together, reliable guy.
He really hasn't played around the diamond much, so I
(27:11):
don't know. I'm sure he can, you know, be a
utility guy. But I think that that that and another
thing I witnessed yesterday was Dustin Harris, a first baseman
in the minors, was working at first base. Yes, so
my mind went to work. It took a while. The Hamsters,
(27:34):
the Hamsters don't go like they used to.
Speaker 3 (27:36):
Luckily, you've got the Mino puret that's right.
Speaker 2 (27:38):
Yeah, but it just looks like they're lining up a
way to get Duran to the minor leagues. He's not
doing much at the plate. You know, he can play
all over the infield, but they have guys who do that,
and they have Josh Smith who is doing it better
right now than Duran. Durand needs ago. My he was
(28:00):
headed there last week when it was almost got hurt. Yeah,
so they just they brought him back. So I think
that when Langford returns, which Bochi said could be as
soon as this weekend, he's eligible the nineteenth, whatever day
that is, that's a Saturday. Yeah, I think that you
could see Langford activated and Duran optioned. Keep Harris up
(28:24):
if you need, if you need somebody to play first base.
You know, Josh Smith can play first base. But if
you want Josh Smith and Dustin Harrison the lineup together, well,
you know what, give Dustin Harris a shot. He was
he can play the position. He's so athletic. You know,
you're like, gosh, you don't want to waste that on
a first baseman. But you know what, sometimes duty calls
(28:45):
get him in there.
Speaker 3 (28:46):
And he played it in the miners. Yeah, yeah, he.
Speaker 2 (28:48):
Played it a lot in the mine Yeah. So and
he played some third too. I don't think they want
to try him a third, but point being, there's a
way for the mench to get a little bit stronger,
either with Ahmed or with Harris or then Harris and
then I'm in. Yeah, however it works out, It just
feels like this is an opportunity for the Rangers to
resolve or try to find a solution for Ezekiel de
(29:11):
Randy at his back pointing.
Speaker 3 (29:12):
Yeah, yeah, and it's been you know, it's been like
say something they thought about for a while they started to,
you know, pull the trigger on that, and not that
long ago, we've talked about it since spring training. That Ezekiel. Unfortunately,
much as we like the guy could be the odd
man out, he does too many things that are too similar,
although not as good as what Josh Smith does. So
(29:33):
I'm not sure you need two guys that do exactly
the same thing. More coming up though, as we talk
about the roof and the stadium and the transformation and
we get to some of your concerns too. We see him,
We'll get to him. It's next. It's the DLLs Rangers podcast.
Speaker 2 (29:52):
You know, John. One of these days I'm going to
learn my lesson. Okay, that's to be more prepared for
the commercial breaks. Oh yeah, you know.
Speaker 3 (30:00):
And Empire Today.
Speaker 2 (30:01):
And Empire Today because it's like I'm not taking advantage
of my home field advantage. I've got a computer in
my lap right, everything right here at my fall there
for you. Empire Today is there to give you a
home field advantage in your home, and they do all
their fabulous work they've been doing for years and years
and years in your home. I mean, they'll come to

get it. And you know what, you can tell them
on Monday, Hey, let's do it on Tuesday. They can
start working sure. I mean they don't mess around in
(30:42):
Empire Today. Speaking of not messing around, they'll give you
three hundred and fifty dollars off your new floors at
Empire today dot com slash d l l S.
Speaker 3 (30:52):
I'd appreciate you using their services as well as getting
yourself one of these bad boys right here, these rugged
road coolers. This is cooler time. We had a couple
of warm days this weekend, which of course meant you know,
loading some frosty beverages up in a cooler. And when
you do that, you want a cooler that's a going
(31:13):
to keep them cold, but be ideally keep them cold
for more than just a short period of time. This
rugged road cooler or keep stuff cold for seven days.
It's fantastic. It's so well insulated and yet it's so light,
it's easy to carry, it's so well constructed. Your adventure
begins with one of these rugged road coolers. It's great
(31:35):
for anything. It even floats, and so you could take
it fishing, you could take it, you know, if you're
floating the river. Anything you're doing, you can do with
a rugged road cooler. This is the time of year
you're going to be doing it. So get a rugged
road now at rugged road dot com. Use the code
DLLs for ten percent off. So, Jeff, the roof was
(31:59):
open last night? Was I don't know if you heard
I heard it.
Speaker 2 (32:02):
I felt it. Did you get cold a little bit?
I had to jacket on the problem. My number one
issue with the roof being open is the wind because
the press boxes out with the people, sure, and stuff
is blown around and my screen shakes. But you know,
other than that, it was a very nice night. Yeah,
(32:22):
And frankly, I didn't even at one point I was like,
I forgot the roof was open. I really did. Yeah,
I did see that. Joe mentioned that it's going to
be close tonight. I'm doing cartwheels inside my body right now,
feeling good about it. It's all and it's all a
work thing for me, really, and I think it's just
I want the damn thing clothes all the time.
Speaker 3 (32:44):
Yeah, not me. I wish it were opening tonight. What's
the problem tonight?
Speaker 2 (32:48):
You know it's a little windy.
Speaker 3 (32:50):
Come on, Yeah, I hate that. I wish it was
open tonight. That said it was. It was open yesterday,
and the Rangers humid improved their record at the at
the ballpark with the roof open, but there's still significantly
under five hundred. They're twenty three and twenty nine now
with the roof open. Well, but that's only fifty two times.
(33:14):
You just don't get very many per year. This is
the fifth year, I granted twenty twenty, so fourth.
Speaker 2 (33:20):
They did open it in twenty twenty. A couple of
times they opened it, at least once. It was against
the A's I think for the first time it might
have been. And then at the game got his first
career hit, but it was like one hundred degrees and
it didn't feel that bad.
Speaker 3 (33:36):
Yeah, because they ran I remember that. I was at
that game, and they ran the air conditioning even though.
Speaker 2 (33:40):
The route open, and they did until like ten minutes
before the game they opened it or fifteen minutes. Yeah,
they opened that thing up bright and early yesterday, and
that's fine.
Speaker 3 (33:50):
Oh, yeah, the day like yesterday. Sure, you know it's
not it's not a problem.
Speaker 2 (33:54):
Yeah, no, it it was. It was a nice day
and it wasn't as terrifying as I thought it was.
Speaker 3 (34:01):
Yeah to me though, if it's going to be I
don't know what it is, high seventies like it is
today or low eighties, and there's no reason unless there's
a threat of rain not to open it. They should
open it. That's what it's there for.
Speaker 2 (34:12):
Well, I'm telling you the wind it's blown right now.
It's sixteen miles per hour.
Speaker 3 (34:16):
Sixteen.
Speaker 2 (34:16):
I think the wind's a big factor here. What direction
I don't know. The arrow is pointing that way.
Speaker 3 (34:22):
North northeast, I don't know, Probably from the south. Usually
prevailing wind here is from the southwest this summer year. Yes, yeah,
So anyway, I wish it were open now. The Rangers
do score more well, both teams. Teams score more runs
when it's open ten point five seven to eight point
(34:43):
eight four, So more runs are scored when the roof
is open.
Speaker 2 (34:48):
And then well they they the data they've mild yeah
says that the ball travels like six or eight feet
further when hitting the air than it does when the
roof is closed. So I tend to think that. I mean,
(35:10):
there are a lot of things to answer Blake's question.
There's this formula, and whatever the formula is, I don't
think they follow it. I think they just like, Eh,
it's going to be hot, or it's gonna be the
year I agree, or whatever.
Speaker 3 (35:23):
I think. At the beginning, it was gonna be a
hard fast temperature thing. Right, if it's under let's say,
I don't remember, eighty five, will open it. And if
it's over eighty five, we won't.
Speaker 2 (35:34):
Or you know whatever. And there was a I saw
somebody last week said something like or maybe it was
on my Twitter feed, like somebody slipped and broke their
leg or something because the it was moist.
Speaker 3 (35:49):
Yes, what happens when they it is the humidity does
rush in there.
Speaker 2 (35:54):
So condensation and do point and all that.
Speaker 3 (35:57):
And I believe that that might have happened at least
been noticed by Ray Davis when they opened at one
time during twenty twenty and nobody was there. But you know,
he has they have an apartment right there. He and
Neil both have an apartment very close, so they'd come
over there and do their morning walk and their laps
(36:17):
and they had them open the roof, and that humidity
is descended and the whole place will get you know, wet,
like wet with dew if you will, and the floors
can get a little slippery. So yeah, that's definitely a
factor as well, one that they you know, certainly probably
didn't consider atmospherically and all that. But to your point
about the ball traveling six to eight feet further with
(36:39):
it open, that accounts for the monumental difference in home
runs hit, which is two point nine eight with the
roof open, that's almost three Jeff, two point nine eight
very close, and two point four five with the close
that's under two and a half.
Speaker 2 (36:56):
Okay, so you.
Speaker 3 (36:57):
See what I'm saying, we are, you know, which is
a lot more home runs hit out of there. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (37:03):
I think one of the longest homers ever came on
an open roof night. Gosh, I want to say it
was Seth Brown for the a's hit one hit one
like over the batter's iron center field. I think it's
one of the longer runs. Yeah, that has been the
history of the ball. That's a big boys shot there.
But anyway, I do remember that first day it was
open and it wasn't that bad, no, I agree, Yeah, yeah, well,
(37:26):
and it was hot. I thought it was silly to
open it that day, like what are we doing? Yeah yeah,
but again there was only you know.
Speaker 3 (37:32):
The teams and us in the place, right and the
cardboard cutouts. None of them complained. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (37:39):
They opened it during the World Series that year for
one of the games, and it was so cold and
the wind was blowing like mad and everybody was pissed,
and you know, but it was during COVID, so you know,
there are people who are worried about being inside together.
I screw this, I'm going in.
Speaker 3 (37:59):
And at that point it had the World Series was late,
was it later than normal? Was it into November?
Speaker 2 (38:07):
I don't remember. I can't either, but anyway, but they
were allowing fans in at that point. Yeah. But that
was like the first time for US locals where the
wind had been a factor, and I mean things were
blown everywhere.
Speaker 3 (38:24):
Yeah, I remember they made us sick sit six feet
apart two it's like four seats between us and the
press area and stuff like that. So anyway, the roof
will be closed tonight. Thanks for the update Joe on that,
And it's disappointing, frankly, because the Rangers are better when
the roof is open, not record wise, but hitting the
(38:46):
ball out and scoring runs wise. All Right, I like
this video. I always liked those time lapse photography things.
And of course, all last week we were telling you
about the American Rodeo which was at Globelife Field, and
the transformation of that huge, huge facility from baseball to
rodeo back to baseball is pretty amazing. Here's a little
(39:09):
time lapse photography to show you how it looked. That's
(39:41):
almost looks like they've got an ice rink at this end.
Speaker 2 (39:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (39:46):
Right, there's all those people rolling it up. Now, I
gotta take it all out of there's a time for baseball.
Look at that.
Speaker 2 (39:58):
That is the reason right there. Yeah, that they put
that turf down one hundred percent. That place is an
amusement park. Yeah, things going on there all the time. Yeah.
I saw the transformation from Cal the football field the
Cowboys stadium.
Speaker 3 (40:15):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (40:16):
It was after a big twelve championship game, and I
don't remember what was coming up next, but I remember
how they were taking stripping the field and they were
doing it a certain way, and I could never figure
out the pattern for how they were doing it. But
they weren't just doing it like from end zone to
end zone. They were doing it like they were mixing
in like the forty every once in a while. It
(40:36):
was just weird how they did it.
Speaker 3 (40:38):
But because they roll it up.
Speaker 2 (40:39):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, And anyway, yeah that those are
those are fun. And yeah, like the American Airlines, We've.
Speaker 3 (40:46):
Seen the American Airlines Center go from basketball to hockey
and back to basketball or whatever, you know, a number
of different times, going back to Reunion Arena back when
the Stars and Mavericks both played there. So but it's
a cool site. It's a cool site to see. And
that that Rodeo put that was all sand. I mean
to put all that sand in there, that's a heck
of a thing. And I will say this to about
(41:08):
the turf, like when they were still considering putting it in.
I guess this was probably in the nineteen season. Uh,
we had a trip to Arizona early in the year
and all the owners came and I was doing a
feature for Bally or Fox at the time about you know,
what did the people in Arizona think about the turf?
(41:30):
And all the people who mattered, you know, in the
Arizona Diamondbacks organization said everybody loves it. And then we
went in the clubhouse and we couldn't find one day.
Speaker 2 (41:44):
Tear it apart. Boy he ripped. He's like, it's still
turf out, it's still chills your knees.
Speaker 1 (41:51):
He was.
Speaker 3 (41:53):
We couldn't find anybody that liked it.
Speaker 2 (41:55):
Had like a kind of a yellow green hue. It
wasn't quite green. Yeah, company that made it, but yeah,
I think the whole thing was a hoax. Oh are
we gonna do natural grass or we're gonna do turf?
I don't know. Yeah, I think yes, and yeah.
Speaker 3 (42:11):
Way they definitely implied at first, like maybe to help
get the vote through. I don't know, it's gonna be
natural grass. It's going to be natural. It wasn't. It
wasn't ever planned to be natural. Never make that work.
Never and uh, the only one that I don't do
they still do this at the where the Arizona Cardinals play.
(42:31):
Do they roll that whole? I think they do out
yeah and let it grow in the sun.
Speaker 2 (42:36):
And I think that had multiple fields because TCU played
a Fiesta Bowl there in ten and the Cardinals played
the day before really, and so they wielded one field
in and wield the game field out. That's pretty cool
out and in yeah, pretty cool.
Speaker 3 (42:53):
You got some pretty big parking lots or or storage
area is to put a couple of different one hundred
yards fields of grass and they're more than one hundred yeah,
But anyway, Globe Light Field is. It's a really great
facility for almost anything. There's great sight lines in that place.
And truly after today and probably after this homestand I'll
(43:18):
probably stop asking for the roof to be open, But
for now I want it open.
Speaker 2 (43:24):
If not hot, just be happy, huh. If it happens
to be happy, I will. It doesn't happy, but to
be happy.
Speaker 3 (43:30):
It's going to be there tonight and it's not going
to be open. There's no reason for it not to
be open tonight. What is the temperature going to be tonight?
Speaker 2 (43:37):
It's supposed to be it's supposed to be like eighty
something today.
Speaker 3 (43:39):
Well maybe it's too uh, I know, because when you
do have game time, it's going to be eighty degrees
straight up and then fall into the seventies. And I
do know when you have like tomorrow's eighty nine for
the high and Friday's eighty seven. Oh and then Saturday
and Sunday we've definitely closed eighty five sixty five percent
(44:01):
chances rain. So yeah, yeah, maybe.
Speaker 2 (44:04):
Yeah, you know, and let's let's consider John your numbers
and everything. You just spit out about the home runs.
Maybe they're doing it to help Patrick Corbyn.
Speaker 3 (44:13):
Ah, there you go, there you go. It's strategic. I
like that. I'm not mad at that. We're we're playing games.
We're playing a game, and we'll play some games on you.
So anyway, that's roof talk for this day. We've got
more coming up. It's our batting clean up segment as
we clean things up in the world of baseball. Next
on the DLS Rangers podcast.
Speaker 1 (44:36):

Speaker 3 (45:16):
Don't forget to become a die hard thirty six dollars
to become if you haven't done this yet, Seriously, this
really because I don't know when the next time. We
kind of knew this one was coming, although we didn't
want to share it, but they don't have any plan
after this one to reduce it again. So if you're
even considering being becoming a die hard, you got to
(45:40):
do it now and save yourself all that money. It's
worth even the seventy nine to ninety nine, but it's
ridiculously a good value for thirty six dollars, and you
get a free thirty five dollars shirt, so it's like
basically buying it for one dollar. All this content, all
those great things that we talked about, the twenty percent
off of our events, the twenty percent off future merchandise
(46:02):
that you may want to buy, and once you have
one of the shirts, you'll want more because they're such
great shirts. So anyway, I just take advantage of this deal.
If you're not already a die hard, do it today,
and I think you'll really be happy that you did.
Speaker 2 (46:16):
Yeah, I've said it before. I can't think of a
better deal. No, and even I just I just you know,
and we're going to give you something, right, We're gonna
give you a shirt which you can which you can
choose at stored out all citynetwork dot com. Neither of
us is wearing our merchant day, which is a rare day.
But when we go to the ballpark, we like to
(46:37):
wear collars. We're old we're old fashioned that way. I guess,
although I will I will count a pullover as a
collared shirt. Sure, yeah, but anyway, I would love I
would love a deal as pullover and collared shirt. Yep,
and hats.
Speaker 3 (46:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (46:54):
I think they're all coming their plans for all these
things to come. The design phase apparently is not as
simple as it sounds. But anyway, so right now we're
focused on the T shirts. And you've seen them all.
You've seen me and or John wearing all of them. Yeah,
so you know what they look like. We've told you
how great they feel at store dot Alcitynetwork dot com.
Speaker 3 (47:15):
Yeah, that's a great idea, get yourself one. So let's start.
So yesterday we had the gender reveal story we did
with Bryce Harper. Today it's sort of the opposite end
of that pregnancy spectrum. Yesterday was the last game that
(47:37):
Alex Bregman would play the Red Sox prior to leaving
for paternity league. So what did Breggy do? Five for
five O, two home runs and four.
Speaker 2 (47:49):
RBIs that's pretty good.
Speaker 3 (47:51):
It's his best. He's never been five for five in
a game prior. Really Yeah, okay, yeah, so.
Speaker 2 (47:57):
That's kind of crazy, you know because the game before
they got smokes six seemed to want.
Speaker 3 (48:01):
You know, yeah, he damn near did it himself yesterday.
Speaker 2 (48:04):
That's pretty good. Uh, well, congratulations to Alex Bregman. Who
who you know? I guess now that he's not with
the Astros, isn't such a bad guy?
Speaker 1 (48:12):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (48:13):
No, there's even when he was with the Astros. To me,
there was a there was a an endearing quality about
his playful I think playful cockiness, you know, choosing his
numbers and those types of things, you know, you know,
because I just I got a kick out of the guy.
He was thoughtful, it was bright. I thought he was
(48:36):
pretty decent, but but he was an astro.
Speaker 2 (48:38):
I did find it a little annoying. I thought I
thought it was off putting.
Speaker 3 (48:42):
That he that he Yeah, I thought he like flaunted
it to the other teams. Yeah yeah, I didn't draft him, Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (48:49):
Yeah, I mean what was he taking third overall or
second overalls? Like come on, man, yeah.
Speaker 3 (48:53):
Well he's why I took a number, like, yeah, you
two teams passed on me, idiots. I don't know, I somehow,
as I'm usually not for that myself, but I found
that playful and funny. And anyway, he's a dad. I
don't know. I didn't see the numbers. I don't know
if he has a bunch of other kids or not
(49:14):
others or this is the first. The whole paternity leave thing,
while awesome, is still strange. It is it is, but
all for the best. Yeah, all for the best. It
is family first, and that's a great that's a great thing. Okay,
so Spencer Stryder is already pitching in today's game. Yeah,
(49:38):
for the Braves in Toronto. First hitter he faces in
like three hundred and seventy five days, three pitch strikeout. Jet.
Speaker 2 (49:47):
Guy's good man, he really is. And it seems like
he really got back faster than from this than most
people do. Now he might have he might have had
the brace surgery prodizure, which the internal break which doesn't
take as long.
Speaker 3 (50:00):
That's what he got.
Speaker 2 (50:01):
So maybe that's the future. But I know Keith Meser
is a big fan of it. But Keith Meiser explained
last year on the Weekly Show that he also when
he does the brace, he does the time he does
the ligament too, So there's got to be something to it.
Strider is actually losing one nothing right now, though I
(50:22):
see that in the in the six numbers, like the
Brave score a ton of runs here, guys, that's true.
But again, I you know, he's he's a he's not
the biggest guy. You know, he's he's about five ft ten.
He has big, thick legs, which is where he generates
all of his power. But so it's good for baseball.
(50:45):
I'll say it again. I say it often. It's good
for baseball that this guy is back.
Speaker 3 (50:51):
Yeah, he's allowed just the one run it was earned.
He struck out five. He's gone four innings at this point,
and yeah, the Braves find themselves down one nothing. But
I agree with you. You know, a guy like him
being back is good for the game. All those people
are they in Toronto? I think they're in Toronto. Here
(51:12):
in Toronto, all those people in Toronto get to see him. Yeah,
you know, yeah, I mean I think Braves come. I was.
Speaker 2 (51:18):
I was very excited to see Mike trol yesterday. I'm
not gonna lie. And I had a chance to go
talk to Wash, got him in the office in the
visiting clubhouse and we talked about various things, and I
asked him how Trout was and he said, well, and
this is pretty This is going to segue perfectly into
what I want to talk about next. He said, well,
(51:40):
he's hot and cold. You know, when he does hit it,
it's leaving the ballpark. But he'll show flashes and then
I'll go away. So he's looking for consistency. And Wash said,
I mean, he missed two years. It's hard to do amazing, Yes,
air Go. This is a guy who's won three m
vps and has been in the league for a long
time a man. How hard it is for Evan Carter right,
(52:02):
who has been who missed one year, and who's been
mentioned numerous times here chat in the in the chat,
And I'll be honest, guys, I don't have an answer
for you. I don't know what the heck is going
on with him. I don't know why he didn't play
last night. I don't know why he's only played once
in the last three days. And maybe it is a
back management thing, maybe it's a swing thing. I really
don't know, and I don't know that we're getting the
(52:23):
straightest of answers from the from the Rangers. We need
to follow up on that because it's become a pattern
here where he'll play a game and then he will
take two gays off. Yeah, and you know, with the
history and the expectation of him, we could use some
a little more clarity on that one, a little more accountability, uh,
(52:49):
for the status of you know, the guy who they
honestly would love to have in center field.
Speaker 3 (52:56):
Right now, oh my gosh, and in the leadoff spot. Yeah,
they'd love to have him, you know, if he's fully
healthy and if he's the guy he looked like he
was in the in the last month and then during
the playoffs in twenty three. It's likely where he'd be
right now. But to the point that that Jeff has
made and that you know, some would like to dismiss,
but others realize missing a year of development at this
(53:18):
stage in his career is big. And now right now
it appears, you know, he's on the road to missing
more developmental time. Right every time he sits out, he's
he's not developed.
Speaker 2 (53:29):
Unless they're doing some kind of work away from the
maybe game, I mean that's a possibility, but we've never
we haven't been told what the plan is, and it
seems to be up and down.
Speaker 3 (53:41):
Yeah, and you know, they they were kind of vague,
secretive about exactly what they were doing with Jack Leider too, right,
very and so, yeah and so and so the point
there is a worked, right, So maybe there's a plan
here where but you know, and again it's it's has
(54:03):
worked so far for yeah.
Speaker 2 (54:05):
Jack one day during that layoff pitched at Global Life
Field and everybody who is anybody was in the dugout
watching it. I'm including Mike Maddics. Mike Maddicks said that
he was told he had to go watch it.
Speaker 3 (54:23):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (54:24):
Okay, So they're all watching it and we're in the
press box watching them watch it. Well, we watched it,
and so we get down there and we're like, hey,
we want to talk to Jack. Yeah, like why not?
I said, well, what if I run into him in
the tunnel. They're like, well, we were rather wish you didn't.
(54:46):
So then we wanted to ask Chris Young about it,
and Chris Young wouldn't talk to us. He wouldn't talk
to us about Not only did he not talk to
us about it, he wouldn't talk to us wow. And
so it was a s show. And then in the
World Series during the playoffs, he was in the he
(55:07):
had pitched him been back. He was in the Stay
Ready group, you know that was Staying Ready and all
this stuff. And one day during and off day, they
were still there working out and he was playing catching
right right left field. He was in left field, and
so I went over there and started talking to him
and was quickly escorted all really yeah, So it did
(55:30):
not go well. And I don't understand why not. You
know this guy all right, he feels enough pressure already,
but he was happy to talk to me about it. Yes, Like,
let the kid. Let the young adult decide whether he
wants to talk or not, you know. And so anyway,
that was crazy.
Speaker 3 (55:47):
That was fun that maybe you know a little bit
of what's happening with the you know, the vagaries surrounding
the Avan Carter progression here and exactly what's happening with him.
But obviously right now he's not progressing, you know, in
any sort of rapid way toward returning to the major leagues.
(56:10):
That's just not happening at this moment. So it is
what it is.
Speaker 2 (56:14):
Yeah, and we can try to get answers, and I
think we are trying, there's no question about it. When
he was out of the lineup the last two d
what Friday and Saturday, I did my diligence and inquired
and received no answer.
Speaker 3 (56:30):
So okay, there you go. How it goes. Sometimes that's
the life of a reporter. Sometimes, Hey, if you got three.
Speaker 2 (56:37):
Hours and they're being weirded about the Alejandro Rosario thing, too, well,
that's true. And I did text Alejandro and he responded
and he said, well, I'm doing pretty well. I hope
we have a date for the surgery soon.
Speaker 3 (56:48):
I'll let you know. Okay, but it's like we're going
on two months here. Yeah, so yeah, we're delaying at
a big time. And of course that means delaying in
the return. If you got a little time to day
and you don't plan on going to the Rangers game,
it might be fun to make the trip up Oklahoma City.
I'll watch old Clayton Kershaw pitch.
Speaker 2 (57:09):
Yeah, yeah, you know, I'm gonna I bet that somebody
from our area does.
Speaker 3 (57:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (57:14):
I mean he's just right up the street from our studios. Yeah, yeah,
you know, he's still out there giving it a go.
And I bet it's gonna be I bet it's gonna
be good. And he'll pitch for the Dodgers at some point.
And I think this has got to be it.
Speaker 3 (57:30):
I would think. So that got to be the last year. Yeah,
and and uh, I'll tell you this. They still the
Red Hawks up there? Is that what they are?
Speaker 2 (57:37):
They They're now the Comets.
Speaker 3 (57:39):
Comets.
Speaker 2 (57:40):
Yeah, first year is of the Comets, all.
Speaker 3 (57:42):
Right, So uh, anyway, I'm gonna.
Speaker 2 (57:43):
Guess that's after Mickey Mantle. Okay, commerce comment, Okay.
Speaker 3 (57:47):
All right, well that's not so bad then. I like
that that said, Uh, them kids are eating good today. Well,
Clayton Kershaw. That's right, we'll come in there. They'll be
having okay, yeah, they'll be having stakes from Mickey Mann maybe.
Speaker 2 (58:00):
Maybe you know, Yeah, Henry my son is going to
be playing a tournament in Oklahoma City in May, and
we're going to stay by the ballpark there and the
comments will be in town. And so I didn't I
didn't have my eyes on Mickey Mantles. But I don't
know if we're going to do that, but we'll be
(58:20):
in that we'll be in that area.
Speaker 3 (58:23):
Yeah, And if you need tickets to that Comets game
game time.
Speaker 2 (58:27):
Game time, for sure'll hook you up for sure. Or
I'll just call somebody around Rock and see what they
can do for me.
Speaker 3 (58:32):
Can you get me some free pizza? It's an even
better deal than Nicole can manage on that deal. So,
uh yeah, it is interesting on that is I guess
if we didn't state that, that's the tradition when a
when a veteran comes down to do it's usually pitchers,
but you know, it's position players to whoever has to
go to the minor league affiliate to to do a
(58:53):
rehab start. They set the home team up with with dinner.
Who was it last year? Somebody got He went to
Frisco and he got the guy's steak and lobster.
Speaker 2 (59:06):
It was Suresr.
Speaker 3 (59:07):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (59:08):
Yeah, because because I was thinking about him, because when
he had was with the Mets and made a rehab
start for the being him some rumble ponies. Apparently his
wife arranged for them to all get get you know,
the earbuds or something extravagant in addition to the dinner.
Speaker 3 (59:27):
Oh wow.
Speaker 2 (59:28):
Apparently he was okay with it, but in the end
was like, you know, yeah, let's not do that.
Speaker 3 (59:35):
Dinner's enough. Yeah, we got we got money, but if
we keep spending it like this, we're not gonna have
any more money.
Speaker 2 (59:42):
Yeah. Well that's good.
Speaker 3 (59:45):
Uh, that's good for the that's good for the Oklahoma
City kids up there to get a nice meal out
of Clayton Kershaw today. And like I say, or you know,
you could be watching this in Oklahoma and if you
are just pop over to Bricktown Ballpark, Well.
Speaker 2 (59:58):
I don't sume that Josh Young gave him a good
spread a couple of weekends ago. Yeah, probably where you
have up there, that's right, going to guess that, Josh.
Usually it's like, you know, a local steakhouse, whether it's
out back or something a little nicer, but you know,
it's it's better than what they normally have.
Speaker 3 (01:00:17):
Yeah, oh yeah, way better a lot of it. A
lot of times that's just going to be sandwiches, like
a sandwich spread or something. So yeah, this is a
this is a heck of a deal for these guys,
and it's a heck of a deal tonight for the
Rangers to try and get a little winning streak going day.
By the way, are you know still a top of
the American League West? And nobody has more wins once
(01:00:38):
again in the American League than the Rangers, who are
at ten. So despite all your frustrations about the offense,
I almost made it. Despite all your concerns about the offense,
It's okay. The Rangers are winning anyway. They'll get the
offense back and we'll be here to talk about it
(01:01:00):
each and every day on the DLLs Strangers podcasts. All
seeing like the man.
Speaker 1 (01:01:16):
