Speaker 1 (00:00):
That was fun, wasn't it. What a series?

Speaker 2 (00:03):
The Rangers score three runs in an entire series. That's
an average of one run per game in a three
game series, whether they need it or not. And yeah,
none of those runs tonight. Hi, Welcome into the DLLs
Sports Studios. Welcome to the DLLs Rangers Podcast. John Radigan here.

(00:24):
Jeff Wilson joins us from No Doubt, a somber globe
liife field coming up a little bit later on in
the program, and we want to start though with some
good news, some happy news.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
Remember yesterday when Jeff.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Told you, hey, don't subscribe it, don't become a die hard.
Don't subscribe to be a die hard today, wait till tomorrow.
Here's why he was telling you that we got a
two days sale.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
And as you.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Want to become a die hard, I wore the die
hard shirt tonight in honor of you becoming a die hard.
It's a great time to do it. Thirty six bucks
two days sale. Well, it's basically the rest of today
and tomorrow, so make sure you go to Allcitynetwork dot
com slash join and become That's where you become a

(01:12):
die hard.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
So we really think you ought to do that. Thirty
six bucks.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Is basically a little bit more than half off. It's
our pre summer sale. Of course, summer means the beginning
of baseball officially, so maybe that's what's happening here. The
Rangers are just beginning. I don't know, what do you
guys want to talk about?

Speaker 1 (01:33):
To see?

Speaker 2 (01:33):
The Florida Panthers made it back to the Stanley Cup Finals.
That's three in a row. Oklahoma City thunder at a
big night tonight. Yeah, they qualified for the first NBA
Finals since twenty twelve. One by thirty Is that good? No,
I guess we got to talk Rangers. Here's the annoying
thing again. It's a broken record, a wasted pitching effort.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
Tyler Mally, really all the pitchers.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Dave Raymond said it so well, don't hang this on
Brandon Webb, don't hang this on the bullpen, don't hang
this on anything but this anemic offense, this sickly offense
that just can't seem to produce anything right now, it
looks lost. That last at bat of the night by

(02:23):
one of the hottest hitters in the month of May
for the Rangers, Josh Young, was just awful.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
He looked lost at the plate.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
It's just very very confounding and very troubling as we
get ready to embark into the month of June. The
Rangers had one hit in the game. Josh Smith led
off the game against a guy who was making his
first major league start.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
And got a hit.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
And you're thinking, here we go, kids, nervous Rangers are
going to be all over this guy.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
We're going to see some offense tonight. That was it.
That was the only hit of the night for the Rangers.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
They got a couple of more base runners via the
walk whatever, right, and anytime they did get somebody on base,
somebody generally had a ridiculous strikeout.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Dave Raymonds on the hook for this. At one point, I.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Think it was during Josh Smith's at bat in the
sixth inning, or Dave said Smitty.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Smitty's the only guy in the lineup that.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
Hasn't struck out yet, and he didn't strike out in
that at bat. He walked and then struck out in
his next at bat in the eighth inning. So every
one of the hitters, at least those in the starting nine,
struck out tonight, and even a couple of the guys
I think that came in.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
His pinch hitters did the same.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
So just another one of those nights for the offense,
just a continuing theme for the offense. And so what
do you do in one of these games? And Jeff
and I have talked about it a million times. Both
of us love a great pitchers duel. I love a
one or two nothing game. Except this was only a

(04:10):
pitcher's duel. I guess implies two to one O. Right,
Tyler Malley pitched great. Their guys were just fine. They
weren't great. This wasn't a pitcher's duel. This was bad
offense really on both sides. But Tyler Mallley, you know,
continued to shine, continued to look great. And it really

(04:32):
wasn't a matter of two pitchers going at each other
and just firing and you know, winning on all cylinders
and winning every bat. This was two offenses that just
couldn't get out of their own way. Ultimately, Bobaschett comes up,
as you know, in the ninth inning, hits a two
run homer, a pinch hit home run. It was his

(04:54):
first at bat of the game, his first pinch hit
home run in his career.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
So you know, there's that, and now the.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
Rangers get mercifully get a day off tomorrow. They will
be off tomorrow and they will you know, nurse their
wounds hopefully, and completely take a break from all of
this and don't think about it and don't go to
the batting cage and don't do anything, because there is there.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
Is just there needs to be a clean break and
there needs to.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
Be a big turnaround, and whether or not that's possible
becomes more and more unlikely. So when you're in a
situation like this and you're watching a game like this,
You're like, what do I do? I mean, I don't
really have to watch the hitters. I'm looking at my phone,
you know, and I've got to see things like this

(05:52):
was actually right after the game my buddy Mark Berman,
who's a sportscaster in Houston. Right, and Mark's been down
there at the Fire affiliate Houston forever we go way back. Anyway,
I see Mark all excited that the Blue Jays won,
and I'm like, thanks, Mark, carabout the blue Jays winning
for and then the end of his tweet, you know,

(06:12):
happily says the Rangers are two and eight in their
last ten, Right, Yeah, that's all we need is the
people of Houston celebrating the lack of offense that the
Rangers have produced of late. The Rangers, you know, find themselves,
you know again, still only three games under five hundred
after last night's win. Amazingly, they were back to two under.

(06:35):
The Astros, meantime, have surged a bit. They swept the
A's this series, and I think they've won four or five.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
In a row. They're five games over five hundred.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
Rangers sit behind them, the Astros and the Mariners are
essentially tied for first place in the American League West.
If there's any good news out of all of this,
it's that the those two teams, neither one has really
run away with this thing the way the Rangers should
be running away with it if they had any offense

(07:09):
at all. Some of the things that you can also
take from this that are positive. Although he didn't produce
anything tonight offensively.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
But Corey Seeger is back.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
And just as when Brett Boone came, we knew it
wouldn't be an instant fix, it wouldn't be an automatic fix.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
We knew that.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
We know that ultimately Corey Seger will help fix this
offense right He's that guy that the other pitchers have
to pay so much attention to that they may lose
a little concentration on the guy in front of him
or the guy behind him, and it just helps everybody

(07:50):
get better. Corey Seger tonight was ohero for four. He
had two strikeouts, actually zero for three, two strikeouts of
ground out, and he reached first on a fielder's choice, So,
you know, not a great night by Corey. He was
the designated hitter tonight. Boach was asked before the game yesterday.

(08:11):
Jeff asked him yesterday, and then he was asked again
today by Eric Nadell prior to the game if he thought,
if Boats thought that maybe Corey needed to be perhaps
even a permanent DH in the short term or more
regularly play that DH spot fulfill that DH spot in
the batting order to keep him off his legs.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
And he said Boach both times.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
Now, he said, Corey is a baseball player and he
doesn't want to be just the designated hitter. He wants
to be out there playing shortstop. And the Rangers feel
confident and comfortable that Corey Seeger is going to be
able to do that. Now, he did DH tonight first
game back, gets a day off tomorrow like the rest
of the team does, and then hopefully he can start

(08:58):
to do what he does in the field and at
the plate beginning Friday against the Saint Louis Cardinals.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
We are going to talk more about.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
That series and show you the pitching matchups for that
weekend series with the Cardinals coming to town. It's a
bird infested Globe Life Field this weekend, this whole week
with the Blue Jays and the Cardinals there. We'll get
to that later in the program. We will also hear
from Jeff pretty quickly here about what he got from

(09:29):
a clubhouse today. That has to just be as frustrated
as we are. I mean, it's just it's a very
strange circumstance, I know, for each and every one of
these guys. I had a long conversation yesterday with Brett Boone.
I'll share some of the thoughts from him on that
a little later in this show, and we'll have a
full segment on that tomorrow as well. But yeah, he

(09:53):
is scratching his head too. It's just it's one of
those things with this team right now. They just can't
seem to find any confidence at the plate. That's what
this team needs. They need a dose of confidence. They
need to get up there and believe in themselves even there.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
Don't there. Check swings even look uncertain, right.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
I mean a lot of times you see a check
swing and it's like it's back right away. It's like no, no,
I know, that wasn't like they're like check swing and
it's uncertain. Like everything the Rangers are doing offensively at
the plate appears to be uncertain right now, you see
Jeff is joining us now, Jeff, I was just mentioning

(10:37):
it's probably a clubhouse down there that that was as
frustrated as we are.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
I mean, I'll tell you what, John, I've seen this
team get no hit twice and those were better performances
than tonight. I just you know, it was just really
really bad. Yeah, I don't know how else to say it.
And you know, they struck out the team times, and
you know, the Adulis at bat there and what was

(11:05):
at the seventh or the eighth, gets ahead three to
Ero takes a slider. Okay, that's not a good that's
not a good pitch to hit, So that's good. And
then and then Chase, Chase and he's out of there. Uh,
you know, they basically got no hit tonight after Josh
Smith led off the game with with the with the single,

(11:26):
you know, And and you know, we talked to a
lot of guys in the clubhouse today tonight, including Marcus Simeon.
I talked to him. We talked to Josh Smith, who
had to hit and I think he took a couple
of walks too. Talked to Corey Seeger. You know, this
team's in trouble offensively there there. I don't and we've

(11:48):
been saying that for a while now. But you know,
just when you think it can't get any worse, this
this happens. I mean, it's not like it's not like
Dave Steve and Roy Halladay and Chris Carpenter were pitching
tonight for the Blue Jays, right it was. It was
four guys you've never heard of unless you're a really
good baseball fan. And and they and and the same
thing last night with Bowden Francis, who had a nice

(12:10):
rookie year. He started last night. He had a five
fifty something e r A. And he comes out there
and looks like a cy young winner, you know, every
you know, and and and you know, so what's the solution. Well,
Josh Smith said, we need to have bigger at bats,
better at bats, longer at bats. Well, guess what, Right now,
no team is afraid to throw the Texas Rangers a strike,

(12:32):
and then there are other there are hitters in the lineup.
You don't have to throw a strike and they're going
to get themselves out. So, I mean, there's there's so
many problems with the offense. And it's been fifty however
many games. We're almost at sixty games, right and uh,
you know this, this might be who the Texas Rangers are.
I think I think that's that's kind of the question

(12:54):
I asked Bruce Bochie. I said, I know you want
you because he said, we we got to get back
to the offense. We believe they can be. And it's like,
how do you keep believing that this might be who
you guys are? He said, Well, you know you can't.
I can't stop believing, all right, Well, believing is not
a very good strategy. You know, Hope is not a strategy.

(13:17):
And right now you just don't. You just can't see
any light at the end of the tunnel. Even with
Corey Seeker.

Speaker 1 (13:24):
Back no, I know it, and you hope that.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
And I said this before you came on, and Jeff,
you know you can't. Just as you couldn't expect the
offense to immediately turn around when Brett Boone got here,
you can't expect it to immediately turn around just because
Corey Seeker is back in there.

Speaker 1 (13:40):
You can still hope.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
And like you say, it's not the best strategy, but
as a fan, we don't control much strategy stuff, but
he can hope that they will respond to Corey's presence
in the lineup. We've got lots more coming up with
Jeff as we talk about what how when this offense
can possibly you know, get itself right. And we'll also

(14:03):
talk about some of the positives, more about Malley and
the performance by him and all the starting pictures. It's
all coming up. It's the DLLs Rangers podcast.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
And it is time to talk about Mando. Oh. I
am a big fan of this product.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
I don't know if you have tried it yet, but
this is this is literally one of.

Speaker 1 (14:27):
The cheapest ones that we advertise.

Speaker 2 (14:29):
Right, you can get the Mando product for inexpensive prices
and you will love it.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
You will notice it.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
I have been using it really, you know, with these
hot and humid days. Today wasn't too hot, but we've
had some hot and humid days.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
What do you do? Then you sweat more?

Speaker 2 (14:48):
And the Mando product has not only you know, controlled
that for me, but it has made me well, it's
made my perspiration smell better, Jeff, to be honest.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
With you, oh yeah, that's a good thing.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
So anyway, Mando is a great product. You can use
it on all those parts that sweat, even the naughty ones.
So I would I would encourage you to get yourself
a starter kit of Mando.

Speaker 1 (15:13):
Five dollars off the starter pack.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
Look at what you get a lot of different products,
including those wipes, and you'll love them. So go to
Mando dot com, use the codedlls and get five dollars
off your starter kit.

Speaker 3 (15:28):
John, you were talking about how affordable Mando is. LinkedIn
jobs is free. Yeah, first job posting is free if
you go ahead and use the code there LinkedIn dot com,
slash rangers and John, as you know, as the small
business owner get you can find a lot of quality

(15:49):
job candidates at LinkedIn, But you've got to get your
job out there and get it in front of the
people you wanted to be in front of. So that's
why you know, more than two point five million small
businesses wow, LinkedIn for hiring today. Two point five million.
That's a lot. And yeah, you can share your network.
Everybody's on there looking for a job, So why not
take advantage of this offer. LinkedIn dot com slash Rangers

(16:13):
post your first job for free. Terms and conditions apply,
but go ahead and take the dive because the LinkedIn
job is going to help you out if you're a
small business owner.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
Yeah, the Texas Rangers are not a small business.

Speaker 1 (16:28):
It's a big business.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
And you begin to see things, Jeff, as you as
you try to watch this game. They're difficult to watch
games like this. They're they're just so frustrating. So you're
looking at the social media, you know, outlets and all that,
and you know, Tyler Maalley is going to look great
in the Yankees uniform when they trade him in a
few weeks. You know, I mean, it's just that's what

(16:53):
that's what you're facing in a situation like this when
you just can't seem to get ship righted.

Speaker 3 (17:02):
Well, you know, and you know, everybody's like, oh, time
to sell time to sell, get rid of everybody. Blah
blah blah. You know all this, and that Rangers are
five games out of first place. They're four games out
of the wild card, all right, Yes, they're below five hundred.
Yes they would be in first place if they had
any kind of offense at all. But they're not out

(17:25):
of it by any stretch. So to think that the
Rangers are going to sell is not smart right now.
You now, look if it's the same way at the
All Star break two weeks before the trade deadline, Yeah,
they may, they may, and Malley would be a candidate.

(17:46):
You know, John Gray might would be a candidate possibly
as a reliever. All these guys who are who are
one year reynolds, so everybody in the bullpen could be
subject to be traded if this team is isels like
it's out of it, hopeless and can't get anywhere because
it can't get its offense solved. But you saw last
year the Rangers were actually in worse shape at the

(18:08):
at the trade deadline, and they traded for help. They
weren't huge, they weren't huge pieces.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
Uh you know what.

Speaker 3 (18:15):
Carson Kelly and and the and yeah, yo, samity Sam
and uh you know, you know, and and it didn't
it didn't matter. You know, the Rangers immediately uh kind
of went into a funk while the Astros took off.
So it backfired, but it didn't cost him a ton.
The point being, though, that Chris Young believes in the team.

(18:37):
He believes in what he assembled. He believes in the
players that the Rangers have signed since John Daniels, and
he helped wo uh Seeger and Simeon. He's he's gonna
stand by these guys as long as he can. It's
just trying to figure out why they aren't any good.
And uh, you know, maybe maybe today was rock bomb

(18:59):
and maybe these guys are like and you know, tomorrow,
this off day, maybe they are to take a long,
hard look at themselves. Maybe they're gonna, you know, tonight
drink some serious bud light or whatever, drink and clear
their minds. They need to get away from the game,
you know, they need to They need to not talk

(19:20):
to anybody tomorrow and more than their loved ones. And uh,
you know, not watch a ball game. Don't don't click
on Twitter. Yes, they all have Twitter, all right, might
be burner accounts, but they all have it. They all
know what's being said. Just get away from it all
and and and come back Friday, recharge as much as

(19:40):
possible mentally and physically, and get back to work. You know,
some interesting things that were said. Bruce Bochie said he
thinks he thinks the guys might be working too hard,
might be trying to tweak things too much, taking too
many swings.

Speaker 1 (19:54):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (19:55):
Maybe I don't see I don't see the work. Uh,
he does. And they are working. They're not trying to fail.
Just the quality of the abats though, you know. UH
had one one person in my Twitter notification say why
aren't they swinging at good first pitches? I would argue,
you know, if you go to Monday's game, that's all

(20:18):
they were doing was swinging at first pitches. That's why
the Kevin Gossman had twenty three pitches after three innings, right,
you know, they they do need a collective thought process
going in. Maybe make a make make the pitch or
throw you a strike. All right, Maybe that's it. Maybe
then after that you get going. You know, that's that's

(20:38):
an old thing. When you get behind the lake, you
make them throw a strike. You know, you're trying to
get base runners, anything to get guys on base again.
The Rangers had four base runners tonight, and you know,
Josh Smith singled and two Josh Smith walks and Alejandro
souna walk, Thank God for Alejandro Soona. Yeah, I mean

(21:00):
them on. You know, Seeger struck out twice in his
four at bats. It's it's just and I don't know,
you know, maybe maybe maybe it does come down to
maybe it's time for Brett Boone to you know, crack
the proverbial whip and get on these guys. Maybe it's

(21:21):
maybe it is time for Bruce Bochi to say, you
know what, Adules, you got to sit out. You know,
maybe give Marcus sime On a weekend off. If you
want these guys to clear their heads, let him sit
back and watch a ball game. Let them think about,
you know, simplifying things, getting back to basics. You know,
moving a guy over, you know, get a guy on,

(21:42):
move him over, drive him in. You know, the Blue
Jays tried it there in the in the ninth. You know,
they had the leadoff hit, they bunted him over. Now,
they ended up hitting a home run, but you know,
they they were trying to manufacture run. The Rangers the
Rangers don't seem to do that very often, you know,
so maybe that's it. Maybe you go back to I

(22:03):
don't know, nineteen eighties college baseball, where the cleanup hitter
would bunch for crying out loud. You know, whatever it takes,
get a little momentum going some you know, start to
feel good about yourselves. But what there's no way anybody
feels good about themselves tonight. I mean that was that
was again, I think that's as low that's their low

(22:25):
point offensively tonight, as far as I'm concerned.

Speaker 2 (22:27):
Yeah, it really seems like it has to be. And
to your point, it probably feels as bad. I mean,
it's not going to go down being as bad as
being no hit. But this was essentially a no hitter.
Nobody was. Nobody even looked that competitive, even that last
at bat by Josh Young, who's been you know, one

(22:47):
of the best hitters certainly in the month of May.
Josh just had a great month of May, and it
just I mean, he was he was lost up there.
He just didn't you know, he didn't make good swings
on the first two pitches, a fastball and slider, and
then he popped up you know, to the end the
game and you know, popped up to the first basement
in foul territory.

Speaker 1 (23:07):
Guerrero caught it.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
I mean, you know, just almost every at bat is frustrating.
And again in that ninth inning, you're sending your two,
three and four hitter. It's the heart of the order.

Speaker 1 (23:18):
Uh. And I get it.

Speaker 2 (23:20):
Hoffman's a former All Star and this is a proven closer.

Speaker 1 (23:23):
But yeah, he's given up home runs this year.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
He hasn't been you know, the Haffman we know in
the past, and and I'll be darned if he didn't
just mow right through the Rangers, you know, including that
second strikeout of the game of Corey.

Speaker 1 (23:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (23:38):
You know, I'm just trying to think back of some
some balls that might have been hit hard. I thought,
why it hit hard? In the first he hit that
line drive to the shortstop that was one hundred miles nine. Yep,
Doles had a ground ball that was you know about
one oh three right at the short stop. All right,
But the point is that that's it, that was it,

(24:03):
you know, Yeah, well that three three hard hit balls.
You know, it's it's it's uh, it's just I don't
I don't know what to say, you know, and and
I don't know that Bruce bo Bruce Bochie's out of
words now, you know. Today he said, you know, like

(24:23):
I said, you've still got to keep believing. But maybe
these guys need some time off and they're working too hard.

Speaker 1 (24:28):
You know.

Speaker 3 (24:29):
That's that's where it is. The technical stuff, you know,
that's that's not that's secondary.

Speaker 1 (24:38):
It's I think it.

Speaker 3 (24:38):
I think it starts with approach and just understanding what
what you're supposed to do in the batter's box. Yeah,
it's just hard. It's just hard to reconcile right now.

Speaker 2 (24:51):
Yeah, and to that end, I mean, so they're facing
a guy who's making his first major league start and
they I think they worked him for about twenty pitches
or more in that first inning, and he was on
a sixty pitch limit.

Speaker 1 (25:05):
And I'm like, okay, this is great. You got him.
You know, you got that pitch coming up in the
first inning.

Speaker 2 (25:10):
You know, even though there were two strikeouts, Corey and
Josh both struck out, but you had the you know,
the single by Josh Smith to start it, and then
that hard hit ball the flyout by Wyatt.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
So okay, we're feeling pretty good. And then I think
it might have been a six pitch second inning. It
was just like boom or five.

Speaker 2 (25:29):
I think he used five pitches in the second inning
and suddenly you equalized it. And as it turned out,
I don't think that kid was going to get a
second trip through. He wasn't going to face anybody twice.
You know, Schneider went out there because he I think
he was at about forty four pitches, not sixty when

(25:50):
Schneider went out there, so you know, it wasn't he
said sixty pitches. But I think the plan all along
was to get him out of there and not have
him face anybody and time.

Speaker 1 (26:01):
And then you know, you feel pretty good.

Speaker 2 (26:03):
Okay, you're into their bullpen and yeah there was nothing there.

Speaker 1 (26:08):
Yeah, you know.

Speaker 3 (26:08):
And and to your point about the you know, the
heavy workload on the first any that's something that the
range have done. Yeah, multiple times this year, worked a
guy in the first and then it pretty much goes
just like it did to night. They the guy's still standing,
you know, and in this in this case, you know,

(26:30):
he didn't stand along because of pitch count. But you'll
see starters who are you know, twenty five thirty pitches
in the first and hey, there they are in the
fifth and sixth, just motor and right along. They should
be out of the game. The twenty three team would
have had that guy out of the game, right And again,
it's the same person now that you know, Mitch Gardner's

(26:51):
not here anymore, nathanielo is not here anymore. But it's
mostly the same guys. The core guys are the same,
and it's just.

Speaker 1 (27:02):
Then, yeah, I know it is.

Speaker 3 (27:04):
It's and you know, Bruce Boke, you can't you can't
drop Marcus Simon and DoLS Carcia any further out of
the lineup unless you drop them.

Speaker 1 (27:15):
Out of the lineup.

Speaker 3 (27:16):
And and at some point it's gonna have it may
come to that, it may come to saying, hey, you
guys aren't getting the job done. We're going to try
somebody who is. When Evan Carter is healthy, he's gonna
go out on a rehab assignment this weekend, I would
I would suspect that he's back, maybe not for the

(27:37):
Tampa series, but maybe for the next series, which is
the Nationals.

Speaker 1 (27:41):
Nationals.

Speaker 3 (27:42):
Yeah, so maybe next weekend he's back. You know, if
if Alejandrosuna looks like he belongs in the major leagues,
which he has so far. You know, how are you
gonna send him down? How are you going to take
him out of the lineup if he's one of your
best hit So who do you take.

Speaker 1 (28:01):
Out of the lineup?

Speaker 3 (28:02):
Well, you're not going to take why Langford out right? So,
I mean, gosh, A Dolshire seems like a candidate to
lose some playing time here.

Speaker 2 (28:12):
Yeah, there's no doubt, I mean does and no sooner today.
You know, boats wanted to give him a day off,
you know, just because of the excitement of being here
and all that stuff. Give him a day and he couldn't. Well,
you know, he's like, well, the guy's been hitting. The
guy's been on base every game at the big league level.
The guy's been playing great defense. So they played him again.
And like you say, I mean, you know, he accounted

(28:33):
for twenty five percent of the base runners in this
thing for the Rangers, so at least he got on
base in the game. And with his seventh inning walk
that and that was the one that you know was
followed by uh, you know.

Speaker 1 (28:49):
That Dolls strikeout.

Speaker 2 (28:51):
Yeah, that was that was just I mean again, Berger
reached down a fielder's choice as they as they threw
a Sooner out put we had had a base runner. Uh,
and you just all you need is, you know, kind
of a dole is to advance it. And so many
times in the past we've just expected that, and it's
just obvious that at this point we can't. We can't

(29:13):
expect that anymore. Unfortunately.

Speaker 3 (29:17):
Yeah, he's down to two nine on the on the
batting average. Yeah, yeahs even work simions, right, I mean
on one seventy three.

Speaker 1 (29:31):
Wow. Yeah, we got more coming as we work through this.

Speaker 2 (29:36):
We talked about let's do the update on uh, Nathan Evald,
Let's talk a little bit more about Tyler Mallley and
the pitchers too, and we'll look to that Cardinals series
coming up. But that's all coming up on the DLS
Rangers postgame podcast.

Speaker 3 (29:54):
You know, it's it's getting warmer outside. We we put
in a pool that was our pandemic project, and anyway,
we have the hardwood floors and the kids still haven't
mastered the art of drying off before they come into
the house. So you know, every time one of them
gets out of the pool, you can see all the
wet footsteps all across the hardwood from the second they

(30:18):
step in that back door all the way to wherever
that is they're headed. And water and hardwood not necessarily
a good match. So that's yet another reason why the
Wilson's will soon be calling Empire Today because we're going
to need new floor and I'm wondering how we're gonna
do it. You know, we might have to do some
tile action just just to help save some wear and

(30:40):
tear from that pool. Anyway, Empire tooday dot com slash
d ls they want to give you the home field advantage.
They come to your house, they help you determine what
colors and match and what looks best and what rooms
and all that stuff. They're just fantastic. They're the leader
and they've been an og sponsor of ours since we

(31:03):
launched in August, and they still have the same deal
three hundred and fifty dollars off new floors at Empire
today dot com slash d l L.

Speaker 1 (31:13):
Hey have you heard our big and little news. We
announced it, I think last month during the NFL draft time.

Speaker 2 (31:20):
But we are partnered all of us, all the All
City Network stations have partnered with Big Brothers and Big
Sisters of America, and of course we're partnering with the
one right here in Dallas. And it's not just about sports,
this is about community. Together, we are combining Big Brothers
and Big Sisters, incredible youth mentoring programs with the passion

(31:45):
and the power of All Cities local sports coverage. We're
trying to create something truly meaningful here. It's a partnership
that has kicked off, like I say, about a month ago,
but it just doesn't stop here.

Speaker 1 (31:58):
We'll be working year.

Speaker 2 (31:59):
Round and to support Big Brothers and Big Sisters through fundraising,
through events, through content, and there will be opportunities for
you to join us at some of these events.

Speaker 1 (32:11):
We would love you to get directly involved.

Speaker 2 (32:14):
We would love you to become a big brother or
a Big sister. We're excited to support youth membership that
really makes a difference and you can learn more and
see how to get involved if you go to b
BBS dot com slash all City. That's something we are
very proud of. Jeff today, good news on Nathan Vivaldi.

(32:39):
I know that had to make everybody you know breathe
a big sigh of relief.

Speaker 3 (32:44):
Yeah got when I got here, he was he was
actually with his family doing some sort of photo shoot
for a calendar, I think with their Westy. So he
was holding the Westy and the kids were there and
the wife, and there were some dogs that I think
we're up for adoption who had also had their photos taken.

(33:07):
A couple of German shepherds had their eyes on that Westy.
So the Evaldi whisk the white whist the white Westy
away anyway, so his arm can hold a dog, so
that's a good sign. But yeah, the Rangers. The Rangers
were going to discuss today how they were going to
navigate Avaldi and how they were going to try to

(33:34):
work him in. You know, they have the off day tomorrow,
the off day Monday, so that gives them the opportunity
to push him back, you know, not, I mean kind of,
I guess. I guess skip, not necessarily skip, because he
would pitch the next time through their rotation, just it
might be a little later. He would be scheduled to
pitch Tuesday. Sounds like they want to buy him a

(33:56):
little more time.

Speaker 1 (33:58):
Now.

Speaker 3 (33:58):
The downside of that is, you know, the rest of
the rotation doesn't get an off day, but it beats
calling a spot starter or doing a bullpen game or
something like that, and then with with the off days,
the ensuing two Mondays, everybody will get caught up. Everybody's
going to get their rest. Kamar Rocker is not part

(34:21):
of the equation, though. Bruce Bochi said he's going to
make a rehab start tomorrow with round Rock So it
sounds like they're not going to rush him back just
to make a spot starter or something like that, because
then you have a you have a decision to make
with him at that point, you know, or or if
not him, Jack Ly or who I can't imagine being

(34:41):
taken out of the rotation, and Patrick Corban, who I
also can't imagine being taken out of the rotation. I
don't think they're going to go to a six man, so,
you know, I guess that's kind of where the closer
talk came in. That that was quickly shot down by Chris.
But I don't know what you do with him, you know,
maybe you keep them on rehab, Maybe you like him
build up two six innings and he's going to throw

(35:03):
four tomorrow. Maybe you let him stay down there and
then and get his work in and and if something
does happen, and as you said John yesterday, when we're
talking to John Gray, it's not a it's not. If
it's a win, something's going to happen. And by god, John,
four hours later something did.

Speaker 1 (35:21):
Something did. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (35:22):
But you know, but anyways, the Rockers not part of
the equation. At least as of this afternoon, he wasn't.
So I think I think it is good news that
of all the isn't hurt. They're going to try to
build in a little extra rest for him and and
see how that goes. But good news on the Nathan

(35:44):
of all the front.

Speaker 2 (35:46):
Yeah, because when you hear triceps, Jeff, you know, right,
you worry. I mean, you know what that leads to, right, Yeah,
that's not that's not a pleasant uh you know, Lord
of Oh it's nothing will be. But now again, if
they'd say there's nothing to worry about last.

Speaker 1 (36:01):
Night, we might go I don't know.

Speaker 2 (36:04):
But in this case, since they've had a chance to
look at it and they've you know, considered everything, and
they did exercise an abundance of caution, as they have
pretty much with everybody all year, it seems like, you know,
there's not a there's not a great concern there.

Speaker 1 (36:19):
But so that is that's really good news.

Speaker 2 (36:21):
Tyler Mally and the way he pitched today really good
news too.

Speaker 1 (36:25):
He lowered his era, Jeff, he loves it's hard to do.

Speaker 2 (36:32):
So you've got Tyler Malley and Nathan Valdi in the
top five in e RA and all of baseball. I mean,
it's just amazing that that the pitching. And again it's
not like Jacob de Gram's been terrible. We mentioned, you know,
Jack Lyder has been good and so has Patrick Corbyn.

Speaker 1 (36:51):
This this pitching staff has done a great job.

Speaker 2 (36:54):
But Mally tonight, you know, I mean he was just
he was doing what he does.

Speaker 3 (37:01):
Yeah, you know, it started out a little shaky because
you know what a four pitch walk to the leadoff guy,
and he quickly got the the double play from the
from Santander, nice play by by Burger, and you know
that was that was not not it because they did

(37:22):
threaten again in the in the sixth, you know, and
he got that. He struck out Clement there to get
out of that on three pitches too, just blew him away.
Yeah yeah, And it was really it was really impressive
the way he finished his night. But you know, he
had three walks he's five strikeouts against a team that
doesn't strike out a lot. I mean Jacob mcgram Monday,

(37:42):
and I didn't strike out any Blue Jays, so something
was working for for Tyler. I thought his splitter was
pretty good. It was just it was it was a
solid performance, you know. And and I know some people
myself included, might be a little apprehensive when he takes
them out. We don't know a lot about the guy.
We haven't seen him pitch, and it's very it's a

(38:04):
little bit like like Patrick Corbyn. You know, you're just
kind of waiting for something to happen, but but it
hasn't happened. So that might be more who they are
in this year, you know. And uh, you know, there's
gonna be some regression. You would think it's gonna be hard,
for hard as hell for Tyler Malley to finish the
season with an e RA under two possible, it's just

(38:26):
gonna be really really hard. But even if he regresses
a half a run, the ERA regresses a full run
to two seven or two six, that's really good and
that's fantastic stuff. And you know, the the key thing
of course with him is also that he's healthy. You know,
he is also coming off with Tommy John and then

(38:48):
he had a shoulder injury at the end of last year.
So to see him out and making his starts, there's
never been like any even hint of worry about him physically.
Even in spring training. It was like such a quiet
spring training. He just went out every you know, every
fifth or sixth day, sixth day to start and then

(39:10):
every fifth day. There was never any any question, any
concerns about about him.

Speaker 1 (39:16):
And so.

Speaker 3 (39:18):
He's he's gotten just better. You know, he had a
little bit of a bumpy one the other day in Chicago. Okay,
those will happen. But Tyler Mallley looking pretty good, you know,
you know you kind of I was, I was doing
some looking ahead tonight and uh really, you know, the Rangers,

(39:39):
the Rangers very possibly could have three fifths of their
rotation at the All Star Game with Malley of all
the into grom It's it is one hundred percent possible
that that happens, especially if they continue to pitch in
this you know ballpark with the eras you know below

(40:00):
two or slightly above two see three Rangers pictures in
rotation or in the in the Auser Game.

Speaker 2 (40:07):
Yeah, I've got a couple more thoughts on Mallley too,
But how about is this a super chat from Mark
super chat? We appreciate you, Mark, and we I'm sure
I don't blame you for appreciating the World Series ring.
But when he asks does the new car smell? We're
off for Boach and see Why not anytime soon. I'll

(40:28):
say that, like those flags fly forever, and nobody is questioning,
uh to answer that question, Mark, Nobody's really questioning what
See Why did this offseason? He made the moves that
needed to be made. Uh, And and they're far from
questioning Bruce Boche. Now, you know, at some point the

(40:51):
players just have to do it. And yeah, and they
you know, again, the pictures have but but the hitter
have not. And that's that's as confounding for you know,
Bouch and for See Why and for ownership. And you know,
it's funny And I want to have a long talk
about my long conversation with Brett Boone that I had yesterday, Jeff,

(41:15):
we'll do that on the show tomorrow. But one of
the things he said to me was, you know, when
I was a player, even if we lost, you know,
maybe I hit a two run homer of what we
lost five to two. I go, I go home, and
I'd sleep fine that night. And I didn't like losing,
but you know I was fine. I did my job,
he said. Now as a coach, he goes, even if

(41:38):
we win, or only if we win.

Speaker 1 (41:42):
Do I sleep okay? He said? If not?

Speaker 2 (41:45):
I took an oper, right, he said, bouch takes an opher,
you know, see why takes an opher. That's how it
hits them every time this team loses, as if they
all former baseball players were you know, in the game,
and they were all for whatever however many at bats

(42:05):
they had. That's how they feel when they leave here.
So just like we know the players are trying, these
dudes are trying.

Speaker 1 (42:14):
To yeah, well, and.

Speaker 3 (42:17):
On the managerial front, when when the when the games
are all tight, okay, moves are going to backfire, right yeah,
I mean tonight tonight. You know, clearly the Rangers were
without Sean Armstrong because I you know, because because you
saw how the how everything unfolded with the order they

(42:39):
use the guys when they brought in their closer, Robert
Garcia in the eighth, you know, they were a that
was a big pocket. That was that was the heart
of the Blue Jays order. I want to get your
best guy on them. Those are the three biggest outs
of the game. The thought was, And then they brought
in Jacob Webb and not charm Sean Armstrong. You know,

(43:02):
so so Armstrong must not have been available, so you
don't know if you're watching who's available who's not. That'll
dictate a lot of the manager's decisions. And in a
close game, whether it's one to nothing or zero or
zero or two to one, he still has to manage
these guys healthy. And bringing bringing in a guy who's

(43:23):
pitched two days in a row, or who's tight, or
you know, didn't feel good playing catch, you can't. You know,
that's that's not a good move. You're putting the player
at risk, and if he's not going to have his
best stuff, you're putting the game at risk.

Speaker 1 (43:38):
So there are a lot of.

Speaker 3 (43:39):
Things that that happened that a manager get blamed for.
And we don't have the answers, Uh, who's available and
who's not. We can ask before the game, but you know,
usually they haven't played catch yet, so he doesn't know, right,
so you know, he he did try to do some
things like that he pinched it for for Kyle Gashioka,

(43:59):
for forced the Blue Jays to make a move, h
and it and it didn't work out, you know. And
and but again he can't hit. He's not the guy
in the box. And he tries, he tries to believe
in these guys. Uh, he's hasn't as of yet reduced

(44:19):
the playing time of you know, the two guys who
are at the epicenter of this offensive malaise. And maybe
that's maybe that's happening, but uh he you know, that's
just a shot to their confidence, what little they have left.
So it's it's delicate, man. You're dealing with personalities. You're

(44:40):
not dealing with robots. But you know, they do they
do need to pick it up. And Bruce Bochie was
was very adamant about that today and tonight, And you know,
the players have to be accountable. And I know that
a Doulas Garcia spoke to the Morning News because I

(45:01):
was talking to Marcus Simeon at that time, and you know,
we talked to Corey Seeger about how can he stay
on the field. They were all very accountable tonight. I
think they knew how bad it was and so it's
time for them to start, you know, putting some actions
behind their words.

Speaker 2 (45:20):
Yeah, all right, it's time for us to break for
a moment and we come back and talk more about this,
those conversations and others we have had.

Speaker 1 (45:29):
We'll get to that.

Speaker 2 (45:30):
Series against the Cards as well. But first, this on
the DLS Rangers podcast, and that.

Speaker 1 (45:37):
Is the twenty four or thirty six hours sale. Jeb,
look at there.

Speaker 2 (45:42):
It's the summer sale or the die Hard Shirt in
honor of it because you you, every one.

Speaker 1 (45:49):
Of you can become a die hard.

Speaker 2 (45:51):
And the cool thing is you'll get a free shirt
even if you don't order it, and I'd encourage you
to order them. We'll get what you want, but they'll
send you. I think this is the default shirt that
oh it is. Yeah, I think that's the I think
that's the one. I think I actually got this one,
not realizing I needed to place an order when I

(46:12):
became a die hard. And I'm glad I did. I'm
glad I did. Anyway, thirty six bucks. It's such a
great deal and the sale ends tomorrow. Jeff told you
yesterday if you were going to become a die hard,
don't do it.

Speaker 1 (46:25):
Till today.

Speaker 2 (46:26):
Well, if you didn't do it today, still could but
you could also just do it tomorrow. Get that thirty
six dollars deal. It's the best deal going. And there's
going to be continue to be so much to write
about all of our teams. So do yourself a favor
and become a die hard today.

Speaker 3 (46:43):
Yeah, I'm sitting on a story right now. I'm actually
sitting on a couple may be burning the midnight oil.
Even beyond what we're doing right now, there's just stuff
that has to be written, so and you can read
it if you're a diehard member. If you're not, you

(47:03):
have to guess, you know, you want to hear from
these guys. You know, everybody said, oh, the the DFW,
the Rangers writers aren't holding you guys accountable the hell
or not. We absolutely are. If you've read my I
don't know, let's say three of my last four stories,
it's pretty much they haven't been they haven't been very rosy,
all right, So you know, we we we will call

(47:28):
a spade a spade if we have to, and that's
just the way that we do it because we feel
you fans, We really do. But anyway, back to the
die hard thing and the free shirt stored out all
City network dot com is where you go to find
that shirt. We are going to have a new Ranger
shirt coming out so that everybody's gonna want to have.
It's going to be fantastic. You guys are gonna love it.

(47:52):
It's going to be very very unique, and you're not
gonna be able to find it anywhere else and you're
gonna want it. You're just trust me on that stored
on elseitynetwork dot com.

Speaker 2 (48:01):
Uh okay, So yeah, let's talk a little bit more
about you know what you were saying about the accountability, Jeff,
because I do. I do love that that that pretty
much everybody made themselves available. And I think to your point,
we've both been in so many clubhouses after losses and

(48:23):
that type of thing, and look a lot of times
it's just one of those losses and guys just they
don't want to talk about it. I just want to
get out of there. But they knew. I think your
point is well taken. They had to have known. Okay,
this one was special, it was awful, and we need
to go out. And maybe someone even said that, right,

(48:44):
maybe someone even said we all got to go out
there and talk about this.

Speaker 3 (48:48):
Yeah, you know, first of all, it's it's it's unfair
for them to make the manager, you know, cover from them,
and the manager willingly does it, but you know it's
it's not it's not fair they need to have they're
the ones not getting the hits, not the manager. And
so yeah, we started with with Josh Smith, who had

(49:10):
the hit and was on base twice, because he was
the first one that went to his locker. And you know,
as much as we like Josh Smith, the back of the.

Speaker 1 (49:19):
Matter is.

Speaker 3 (49:22):
He's he's a young player. Okay, sure he knows the
game and everything, but his perspective, while honest and appreciated,
doesn't go as far as veteran players. So I peeled
away from Josh and went to Marcus and just you know,
you you don't say, Marcus, what the f is going
on with you? You know, you kind of ease your

(49:44):
way into these things and try to find a nice
way to ask because he doesn't want to talk about it.
You know, we don't want to ask the questions. We
wish we were asking about his three homer game, but instead,
you know, he's back in the Bucks seventy three and
and so you have to. But you know, by by
the end, he was talking about things he's trying to do.

(50:06):
And you know, I asked him, are you you seem
to be hitting more balls to right field? And he said,
that's just where he's being pitched. It's not something he's
intentionally doing. But he said, he's trying a bunch of
different things, you know, And and he believes in himself.
He's and he should. I mean, he's he's been a

(50:26):
really good player. You're the last, Uh, I don't. I
guess he twenty fifteen was really his breakthrough season when
he wasn't a very good player, needed one watched himself.
But you know, he's been a solid major league player,
an MVP candidate. You do wonder, though, how much does

(50:48):
he believe in his his routine and does he need
a break from it?

Speaker 2 (50:53):
Does it?

Speaker 3 (50:54):
Does something have to change there? And then and then
we you know, we went to Corey and you know,
Corey is now in the clubhouse very much. He's a
lot of times it's because he has his own hitting
program that he does, but lately it's been because he's
been hurt, and uh, you know, we needed to talk
to him about that, and you know he he is
bothered by the injuries. He does not like it at all. Uh,

(51:18):
and he was wondering why, and you know, he sought
out a specialist in these things and went to the
University of Wisconsin two Uh too who I am apparently
world World World Leaders and hamstring studies there at with
Aaron Madison. But you know he went up there and uh,
you know, was just looking for some answers as to

(51:40):
why it's happening and how it can be better. So
he's got some new stuff and how he's going to
go forward and he needs to be you know, Bruce
Bochi said that Corey's more open minded to spending some
time at d H if it helps him stay on
the field. You know, this is a good player, a
competitive player who hadn't been to the playoffs every year

(52:00):
of his career until he joined the Rangers and then
you know that was in twenty two and then the
next year he's the World Series MVP. He's used to
winning and he wants to contribute. So it was it
was pretty interesting to listen to him. It was it
was about as deep as he's gone, honestly, since he's
been with this team. So a lot of stuff coming

(52:21):
up on the website, So if you're diehard, go ahead
and get on. But yeah, tonight was a good night
for the players to get out and address what's going on.

Speaker 2 (52:31):
Yeah, interesting note about Marcus Simmons, and we'll get to
that preview of the Cardinals series in just a second.
Dave Raymond was talking with David Murphy on the broadcast
chap about Dave got up today Raymond and did a
deep dive and compared all of the sort of the
deep analytical numbers from Marcus Simeons twenty twenty three year

(52:55):
to this year, exit velocity, bat speed, you know balls
and play you know balls and play batting at all,
everything you can do the deep dive analytics, and they
were all very very similar. Some of them better this
year than they were in twenty three, some of them
a little bit better in twenty three, but all very similar.

(53:17):
So we called somebody in the analytics department for the Rangers,
so what am I missing here? And they said nothing.
We have the same numbers, the same data. They tell
us the same thing. And the only thing that Murph
could conclude from all that is maybe the defensive positioning
has just become that much better, that much more advanced

(53:38):
to where he's hitting the ball hard. He's hitting the
ball well, but it's right at somebody every time.

Speaker 3 (53:45):
But it's well, that is interesting. I would I would,
I would say that the strikeout rate is higher this
year than than even last year, and his a really
good year in twenty three, So you know, there's less
contact in there. Maybe there's some more chase in there.
But you know, I wonder about the bat speed. It

(54:06):
just seems like there's not a lot of when Marcus
is hitting the ball, and you know, is that is
that something that uh that's just me looking at it.
I don't I don't know. I don't know if there's
there's anything to that. But let's say the bat speed
is down. You know why is it down? Is he hurt?

Speaker 1 (54:27):
You know?

Speaker 3 (54:27):
Remember this guy, this guy doesn't doesn't take days off.
You know, he he wants to day, he wants to play.
He played last year. I think I think if he
were to go back. I know I've mentioned the posting
this season is kind of where it started.

Speaker 1 (54:44):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (54:45):
Also, when he had that collision with Aduls last year,
it was it was about this time of the year.

Speaker 1 (54:51):
Uh, and and it.

Speaker 3 (54:52):
Just seems like, you know, he kept playing, kept playing,
kind of went into a slump there and then you know,
actually was given some days off by I want, you know,
I wonder if maybe something got knocked out a whack
in his his swing that he's not aware of.

Speaker 1 (55:11):
You know, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (55:13):
You know, I'm definitely not a hitting guy, and I'm
probably sounding like an idiot, but it's just it just
makes you kind of makes you wonder, you know, And
that's what the Rangers are wondering. How did this guy
go from Hall of Fame trajectory.

Speaker 1 (55:30):
Too.

Speaker 3 (55:32):
I'm gonna say it, maybe the worst offensive player in
the game. Wow, Yeah, I mean, I mean, I mean, honestly,
we gotta we gotta look at it. I mean, you know,
Jason Stark for the Athletic he always does the what
does he call it, the ls m v P the
least valuable the l VP least valuable player. He does
it like every year at the All Star Break. Markusanbian

(55:53):
is going to be a front runner for that. I mean,
it's just it's you just kind of wondering what is
going on here? You know, And and I don't he
doesn't he doesn't seem to have the answer. Brett Boom
doesn't seem to have the answer. Donny Ecker didn't seem
to have the answer. I don't know who has the answer,

(56:14):
but somewhere in there and that's really interesting the stuff
that they did. That's somewhere there's an answer.

Speaker 2 (56:22):
There is And I'll tomorrow we'll talk more about a
couple things Boonie said about about Marcus and their deep
in depth conversations. Next though, right now we want to
get to that preview of the series against the Cardinals.

Speaker 1 (56:38):
That is the next one that's coming up.

Speaker 2 (56:40):
It doesn't start to know Friday, Rangers get their first
home off day since March.

Speaker 1 (56:47):
Crazy, yeah, just crazy. All their off days that they've
had have all.

Speaker 2 (56:51):
Been on the road, which is you know, I mean,
it's fine for the guys, it's hard for the families,
but they usually travel.

Speaker 1 (56:58):
So they travel the night of the game in those.

Speaker 2 (57:01):
Cases and take the off date, the full off date
in whatever city they're headed to.

Speaker 1 (57:06):
And certainly like that one in New York was cool.

Speaker 2 (57:08):
But but there's some cities you go to where in
off days like sit in the.

Speaker 1 (57:12):
Hotel and wish you were home. But in any event.

Speaker 2 (57:15):
Let's take a look at the pitching matchup for the series.
And when you look at that, Jeff, you think, yeah, okay,
well the Rangers are going to outpitch the Cardinals in
every one.

Speaker 1 (57:26):
Of those games.

Speaker 2 (57:27):
I suppose the some of the numbers there on the
on that game Friday night might make you think otherwise.

Speaker 1 (57:34):
But Jack's been great lately.

Speaker 2 (57:36):
And and again, so I would say, if I'm looking
at that, Rangels will lose Friday one nothing, They'll be uh,
you know, it'll be two to one on Saturday, and
then the Sunday game they'll scrape out a one nothing
win over ed Vetti.

Speaker 3 (57:56):
I don't know, yeah, no, I mean it's I mean,
I know, I know you're you're being a little cynical there,
but it's the truth. I mean, you know, what, what
what do you expect of this team at this point?
You know, the season is pretty telling and and too Yeah,

(58:19):
I have nothing. I have no problem with what you say, right,
I know, because you know they've scored how many runs
in this did they score in the series? Four?

Speaker 1 (58:29):
Three? How many they allowed four? Yeah? Right?

Speaker 3 (58:35):
And they lost they lost two or three allowing four.

Speaker 2 (58:38):
Runs seven total runs. And these are two terrible offenses.

Speaker 1 (58:42):
I said that.

Speaker 2 (58:43):
I said that before you came on. Jeff more running
at a time, But I said, you know, Jeff, and
I love pictures duels. These haven't been pictures duels, you
know what I mean. They've just been bad offense.

Speaker 1 (58:54):
Yeah. No, it's it's rough, man, it is.

Speaker 3 (59:01):
And you know, the Cardinals are playing really really well,
at least play it better than than what was expected
of them. Everybody felt the sellers at the trade nat shoot,
they're in the they're in the playoff hunt over there
in the other league. So yeah, that's uh, that's something too.
It's gonna it's gonna be a tougher series than it
was when when the schedules came out and everybody's looking

(59:24):
for wins and thought this might be a good suit.

Speaker 1 (59:27):
It's gonna be a tough one.

Speaker 2 (59:28):
They've all been tough, they have, and they've all been close,
and that makes it so hard on the bullpen and
so hard on the manager, and frankly, so hard on
those of us watching it as well. We sympathize with
you and we appreciate you hanging out with us on
this late night version of our post game show.

Speaker 1 (59:48):
We'll do this again tomorrow at one.
