Speaker 1 (00:04):
Well, the Big Ten Championship is in the books.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
We now know who Ohio State will be playing, and
they did get a bye, you know, so they're not
the one seed.
Speaker 1 (00:14):
They're the second seed, so they.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Get a bye along with those Hoosiers and Georgia Bulldogs
and Texas Tech.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
We've got the fourth seed.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
But this means that we will end up playing in
the College Football playoffs either Miami or Texas A and M.
Miami is the tenth seed, Texas A and M is
the seventh seed. Indiana, on the other hand, will either
have to play Alabama or Oklahoma.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
I kind of like Ohio State's trot to tell you
the truth. Maybe it's a good thing that we did
not win that game last night. What do you think, Boots?
Speaker 3 (00:45):
I'm so disgusted. I am so I was so that's
the first time. I mean, we've joked a lot about
black Eye football over the last five years.
Speaker 1 (00:55):
I haven't joked about it, but you know, I remember.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
We made bets and stuff. But because as we play
a lame schedule, that's not our fault. We played Tennessee,
is opening right, Okay? Who cares?
Speaker 4 (01:05):
Wait?
Speaker 3 (01:06):
Wait?
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Wait wait wait, we played.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
Texas So you can't say that because when these schedules
were set, Texas.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
Was supposed to be one of the best teams in
the nation. Penn State was supposed to be in the nation.
So when those schedules were set, it looked pretty decent.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
But we didn't. We didn't show up last night.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
I disagree.
Speaker 3 (01:23):
What do we do?
Speaker 1 (01:24):
I think I will give Indiana more credit than I.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
They showed up and we didn't.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
They were better than what I thought they had. And
I'm going to be honest with you. Indiana is legit,
their coach is legit, their their their quarterback will.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
Superstars and now you've got the Heisman. Costs says did
a great job.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
So you know what, Boots.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
You bring up a good point because when Randy would
coach games and his team would not win, or his
team would win.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
And against a team who I thought was going to
be really good.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
I'm like, man, they weren't that good, and Randy would
say really or was it just our defense whom them
look not as good? So it wasn't that Ohio State
didn't play real well, but Indiana played.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
Really really shut us down.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
Yeah, I couldn't run the ball very well. Jack scored
one touchdown.
Speaker 3 (02:11):
Yeah, our quarterback. If we missed a lame field goal.
I mean that that is just something that you don't
do it now now in the old days, I say,
they are a bunch.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
Of kids his parents boots.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
Of course, as a mom, you think of that when
that field goal went well.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
Now they're gonna blame him, but he should make that
that absolutely. There's no if sands.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
Or but absolutely, and he was a chip shot.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
There was no when you watch, there was just no ank,
there was no whatever. They were just there. Get this.
Wee beat Michigan. Boohoo. Okay, who cares? I wish Michigan
would have beat us and we would have killed Indiana
like we should have. I think, I don't we are loaded,
So debate this one with me. Are we loaded up?
And are they loaded up?
Speaker 2 (02:54):
So the wrap on Indiana is that they don't. They
did bring in a lot of transfers from other schools,
but these aren't your big chip, four star, five star transfers.
But when you bring a lot of kids in from
other schools, it's hard to get everybody on the same
page to work together as a unit.
Speaker 3 (03:13):
That's where the coach had done that right.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
And if you listen to their postgame interviews. They're like,
we're a brother We're a brotherhood. We're a brotherhood. And
the quarterback right away gave all glory to God. I
like when players do that. You can't help deny that.
It is a great story for Indiana. That was the
hundredth time those two teams have played. You know how
many times Ohio State.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
Won that game.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
I say it is beaten Indiana eighty two times, five ties,
and Indiana had twelve wins.
Speaker 3 (03:37):
I understand losing the Michigan because that makes sense because
there's so much rivalry there. I really believe that we
showed up not carrying. We thought it would be a
walk in the park, and we just didn't show up. Period.
We did not. They shut us down both directions. And
I watched that game. I was bored. I was so bored.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
And I, on the other hand, thought it was a
really good game. You didn't know who was gonna win.
It was, it was down to the last second. Anything
could have happened. I like games like that.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
Our line wasn't our line wasn't firing off the ball,
we were armed tackling on defense. We did every fundamentally
thing wrong. An overpaid NIL team shouldn't do hate me
for people. I'm sorry. The game I watched wasn't the
same team that I saw beat up on Michigan. What
even close? Wasn't even close.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
Well, you were right about one thing.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
You just got to get used to it because NIL
is here forever now. They said, this team that Ohio
State has right now on the field is worth forty
million dollars for an il.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
It's ridiculous. If you grew up in a sketchy part
of town and you don't and your mom and dad
or whatever your your story is, and you were God
given talent and you've expanded on that God given talent
and you became a superstar. You're getting paid millions of
dollars to go play football at a college level. Why
(05:01):
would you care? They're just not the You don't have
the Spielman's and Randy Gratis Sharers and Archie Griffiths anymore.
They didn't get anything out of it but concussions.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
You know, they got out of it. They got out
of love for the game.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
They loved playing for their school because they had school pride,
and it is Can.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
You imagine being a Buckeye of you.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
Now you just you go where the money is and
it's not in college anymore. You know, Ohio State just
vote or Ohio voted high schools.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
Yeah, now high school gets it. What do you think
of that? I think it's just high school football.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
I don't think I would have made much. I've been
in a low budget. But the thing is, the thing
is this too. By the way, I want to ask you,
I was watching your Facebook stuff about Randy's basketball team,
and they looked like you were doing pretty good.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
You know what boots the very first game. It's so
I'm so glad you brought this up.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
How much should they gain? Did they win?
Speaker 1 (05:49):
No, they haven't lot they haven't won yet. But you
remember they.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
Didn't like they're getting better the very first game. You know,
it used to be as a coach's wife, I would
just be like, oh, please win this game, Please win
this game, and more times than not we did win.
Speaker 3 (06:01):
Now you're like, please show off, please.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
Show I'm like, please just make a basket, somebody, please
just make a basket. You know, when you put subs
into a game, you have to check in at the
shorts table. Well, these kids are just running out on
the court. I mean You've got six varsity players that
have never played organized basketball, play no idea what to do. Yeah,
but you know what, I'm like, You know what, Randy,
in the second game, everybody checked in. Nobody lost a
(06:23):
shoe because his first game, somebody lost a shoe, didn't
even know to go pick it up in the middle
of the court. And it's it's but they keep getting better.
They're going to get a couple wins this year. You
mark my words, Christo Ray, basketball is changing for sure.
Speaker 1 (06:35):
It's just fun. These kids that second game, I know
because they listen. This is the other thing. They played
four games in six days.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
Normally, Randy likes to watch a lot of tape on
teams he's going to play. He didn't get to do that,
and they didn't get to practice in between because he
had to keep playing.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
You mark my words. Good because they're changing.
Speaker 3 (06:54):
But because he's showing them hard and they have heart
and it's going to go to the next level. That's
what sports is about. It's not bowl money.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
He's showing him hard.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
Show the cares, showing him more than what their dads
probably do.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
Some of them don't even have dads. You know that,
they don't but he's he's their mentor for a lot
of I just I mean, I hate to be at
the game because it was really a close drive. If
you were at the game, call us up and let
us know about the environment. I know my niece was
there and my daughter Cammy was there. Cammy texted Randy.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
And I after the game. She's like, what the heck
just happened?
Speaker 3 (07:25):
We got we got beat, We've got Beata.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
Corey was texting me my niece and saying the environment
was crazy. She had never been part of a game
with so many loudsposing in the NBA.
Speaker 1 (07:38):
She said her section was right around all these ideas.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
I think if I think Indiana can be the national champions,
if they play like they played last night, and they
show up like they showed up last night, they will
be the Natty champions.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
I think Indiana schedule changed everybody when they beat and
Randy had brought this up today too. When they beat Oregon,
everyone was like, huh, they just beat Oregon, And I
think that was a big wide eye opener for a
lot of the nation. They're they're legit guys, and they
don't take anything away from Indiana.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
I'll say this boots.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
I was glad to see a Big Ten championship with
traditional Big Ten teams. There was no Oregon in the championship.
There was no Washington, no USC no Ucla. Just the
buck guys and the Hoosiers. And you've got to be
a little bit happy for the Hoosiers. They haven't been
there in years.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
They played basketball in a gravel parking lot behind the
barn with an old potato skin tato box up on
nail to the barn side.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
You gotta kind of be happy for I'm not.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
I'm not. I feel like I feel like I was.
I have a giant race car with a blower motor
and a civic just beat me in the quartermouth. That's
what I feel like. I felt like that I walked
away when this is in. I was just like, I'm
so tired of it. I'm so tired of being a
spoiled fan. We're so spoiled as Buckeye fans that we
lose it. Actually, first time in my life I was
(08:58):
upset over a football game that.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
I you know what, this upset, But the playoffs have
changed everything. This game doesn't matter except we went from
the one seed to the two seed. Ohio State. Just
like what happened last year. They lost him Michigan, but
they went on and won the national title.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
They can do that scene now now I've said this
to you and the other shows. I've always said that
we need to lose one to win the big yep.
So it's good. I mean at the pot. But now
that's where they hopefully they they look at their bank account.
They've got two or three million in there and getting
their new Hummer, and maybe maybe it is about the
money and I just bought up.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
Let's just win.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
Hey, Josh is on the line. Let's see if Josh
was at the game last night. Josh, thanks for calling
in a six to ten WTVN.
Speaker 3 (09:38):
Were you there, Yeah, it's nephew.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
Oh it's Josh, Corey's husband, Josh. This is fam So yeah,
Corey and Josh got to go. Was it an early
Christmas present for you?
Speaker 1 (09:49):
Josh?
Speaker 4 (09:50):
Birthday present?
Speaker 1 (09:52):
Birthday present? Okay, were you.
Speaker 3 (09:53):
Mad, Josh? As bad as I was? I mean I was,
I was disturbed mad.
Speaker 4 (09:59):
So I wasn't upset with our defense. I actually felt
like our defense played lights out. They Indiana has averaged
over thirty points a game, and you know, for them
to hold them to thirteen points. I thought was a
really outstanding effort on our defense. Yeah, I just the
(10:20):
offense just never could get rolling it. But like and
I just I'm very disappointed. And you know how much
talents on that side of the ball and the performances
that you know.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
What about the environment was it crazy? First of all,
you're inside, you're in the dome. What about and you
were surrounded by a friend kinds of Hoosier fans.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
What was the environment like? And Josh is like you.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
I'm like, Josh, you better leave early because he might
get in a fight with some Indiana fantasy leaves that stadium.
Speaker 4 (10:47):
So I did leave early because I was getting blustered
and we had some annoying fans around us. We have
some nice fans as well, Like our immediate neighbors were nice.
But I have to give Indiana fans. They came out
there in forth. I mean, you know, the universe is
went thirty miles away from the stadium or whatever. But
(11:07):
I mean they were loud, and they were they were
into it, and they were hyped to be there. It
was I've never been in an environment where the opposing
team is that obnoxious. I'm gonna call them obnoxious because
I didn't enjoy it, right right, Uh, they really did
have their little thing going on, and then Pat McAfee
(11:30):
came on and they were losing it. It was loud
as could be. I was just like, man, this is
a home game for then, all right?
Speaker 2 (11:37):
Right, right, well, you know what, at least you got
to go and experience a Big ten championship. Sure wish
it would have ended out differently, but sometimes that can
be Awake of Colin.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
Ohio State will come after it.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
And they I hope they. I hope they. I hope
they suck it up, Buttercup and get it done, because this.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
Is bad and I'm just glad you didn't get in
any fights.
Speaker 3 (11:52):
Josh.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
We're glad you're in Thanks, Josh.
Speaker 3 (11:56):
All right, Josh, you man, safe travels were to go
to break. When we get back, we're going to talk
to our good friends Fast Response Austin in the house.
He's the sales manager for the family, and he's got
all kind of stuff to share with us on what
you should and shouldn't be doing on your heat and cooling.
This is rob Indian Boots always brought to you by
