Speaker 1 (00:02):
All right, this is the coolest thing I've seen in
a long time. So Fall is knocking on the door
right a time for apple, cider, apples, corn, corn mazes,
all that fun stuff. Well, there is a corn maze
or a maze I should just say at Little Darby Creek.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
You know what it is, Boots, It's it's witty.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
No, it's not witty. It's Ryan Days.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Oh, I couldn't tell.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
It is a huge maze of Ryan Day. So how
in the heck did this come to be? We gotta
find out right now, Jane, you're on the phone with us.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
Right, yeah, I'm here, all right, tell.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
Us how big this maze is and what it even
how it came together.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
So our corn maze is eight acres large. We've actually
been doing Fall corn maze. This will be our twenty
fourth year. And every year when we try to think
what topic we want our design to be, we kind
of want to get what's what's popular, what's in the
news or whatever. And so since High State won the

(01:05):
national championship, we wanted to recognize that somehow, and coach
Day has been out here with his family a couple
of times, and so we got ahold of him and
asked his permission to use his likeness as our corn
maze design this year, and he said he'd be honored.

(01:26):
So that's how it came about.

Speaker 4 (01:27):
Okay, I got to ask who's the smartest person? If
you say, it must be you or somebody in your
campus of people to cut this out perfectly, because I
don't know how you pull this off. Do you spray
paint line somewhere and fall up with a bacco?

Speaker 2 (01:40):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
So actually we're with a maze company. It's called a
maze company called the Maze out of Utah. Brett Herbs
put that together and we've been with him all twenty
four years. And actually we send our artwork to them.
They do the design work for us and then either

(02:02):
you can hire them to come cut it or they
teach you how to cut it. And we actually had
them come cut it for us, but they cut it
before it's two foot tall or taller. They want to
get it in there, you know, before the corners pun.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Do they work off GPS or something.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
You got me totally confused on this because I would
have him looking like a hippo.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Instead of a human being. That's so cool.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
I'll make sure what, but then again he thought it
was Woody Hayes, So yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
You can't tell.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
Hey, you know what if someone asked him what he
hayes and or at the gate, you say, yep, it's
what he hates. If they say it's Brian Davis, Ryan,
that's Ryan Day.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
So how long, Jane, does it take someone to get
through this unbelievably cool maze.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
It's like in two phases. So phase one takes maybe
like twenty minutes or so, and then it brings you
back towards the front. And then if you've had enough
of corn maze, you can stop then, but if you
want to keep going for it, you can do phase
two and it takes another half hour forty minutes.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
Wow, so funny get lost in it.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
And we have like numbered signs out there and passports
that go with them, so you can pick a passport
and answer questions that tell you turn right or left
at those signs to help you get through. We have
a bingo game, a scratch off card with Bingo numbers.
If they have a Bingo at the end of it,
they can enter a drawing for a prize at the

(03:30):
end of the year. And then this year we added
a scavenger hunt scavenger hunt numbers. Also.

Speaker 4 (03:37):
Okay, I always get lost amazes, I believe, cause I
get you know, I get booty eyes. But if you're
walking through, do you say, hey, you're in the nose
right now?

Speaker 2 (03:46):
Or is there there's a little checkpoints to tell you
where you're at.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
Okay, so the numbered signs are out there, But honestly,
we have a GPS map so you can scan a
QR code. Yeah, you're a little blue dot. You're the
little blue dot on your phone, and you can follow
yourself through. And then we have our numbered signs in
there so to help you guide you to find all

(04:10):
those tech points or passport points or whatever.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
So basically the game, what you're saying is even boots
won't get lost in this maze, right.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
Why do I have Do I have a signal?

Speaker 3 (04:22):
I'm right with you. I mean, that's how I want
to do a corn maze too, and we've had it
for twenty four years. I want a GPS.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Map also, So this is oh my gosh, it's a
great idea. A little Darby Creek, where are you guys located?
For someone who's just listening right now and They're like,
we got to make it out there.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
So our our address is Muffert Center, Ohio. We are
about eight miles west of Plain City, right off one
sixty one and about ten miles south of Marysville.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
Well, I think it's awesome.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
I think it's just great.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
What's been the response when people when they make it
through the maze? Do they just love it?

Speaker 3 (04:56):
Yeah, they have a great time. I mean, you know,
it's it's a great adventure. And then we did a
Ryan Day passport this year too. We've always had an
OSU football passport. This is honestly the sixth maze we've
done that's related to OSU football. So we updated our

(05:17):
OSU football passports.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
Where do they go and how much does it cost?

Speaker 3 (05:24):
So you can go to our website, you can google
us the Maze at Little Derby Creek or our website
is Maysanberry's dot com and you can purchase tickets online.
Those are the most reasonable ticket all right.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
The maze at Little Darby Creek. Well, we thought it
was a great idea. And when I saw a picture
that my producer back at Spectrum, Jill Parrish, sent it
to me and she's like, you should have them on
your radio show. I'm like, yeah, because I think Spectrum
did something with you guys too. Well, Hey Jane, thanks
for joining us. Tell your daughter I hope she feels better.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
Yeah, well do thanks for calling. Reprociated.
