Speaker 1 (00:09):
Welcome back to raw with Boots and Mindy.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
So Courtney and the Avenue Illness, Yes, where.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
You want to be.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
Why don't you discuss because you were the person who
was in charge.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
There, Ashley, Yes, tell us about your wonderful son.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
Oh yes, So my son, Tristan is fifteen and he's
very athletic. He plays football and basketball. And when I
was going to the avenue, obviously my children saw the
change in me, everyone around it. But about a month
into it, he was in full blown basketball season and

(00:47):
he had an injury while at practice and it was
to his ankle and it was severe. He was told
us at the bench the rest of the practice, and
the coach actually told us to go get X rays.
So ultimately they came back and said it was a
really bad sprain. But it wasn't even an hour after
we'd been home. He came to me on his own,

(01:08):
he said, Mom.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
What if we tried that hyperbaric?

Speaker 3 (01:12):
He was like, because he knew he had a game
the next day and they were already short on team
players for their season. It was his freshman year.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
He really wanted to play.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Oh yeah, he didn't.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
Want to let his team down, and so I said, well,
I can call Courtney. It was on a weekend, but
she got us in.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
I said, now, we.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
Said, get that kid in now. Yeah, and uh.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
I think there was a little bit of skepticism, but
he had enough, you know, he had seen enough results
from me and what had happened there that he was like,
what else, you know, I might as well give it
a try. So, and he also did not want to
spend this season like in Embrace and all that stuff,
or sitting out. And he went in and he tried

(01:59):
the hyper bear and I think he did an hour.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
He did an hour, and he smiled so bad he
got out.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
Yeah, and he just immediately said all the pain is gone.
He actually went to the parking lot, and this is
during the winter when we had a really cold winter,
and he was running around the parking lot just to
test it out. Freedom He's like, I got to see
if my ankle really doesn't hurt. Kind of like I
had that moment that I came in the first time.
It's like, is your mind playing tricks on you? Is

(02:27):
it's too good to be true? And so it was
to the point that his kitch was just like what
did you do?

Speaker 1 (02:34):
And type of things like.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
His coaches didn't believe him. I had to write something
he did.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
Hyper provide a receipt that he did hyperbaric.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
He did red light therapy as.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
Well that day and he was you know, at first,
we weren't sure what was going to happen, but they
let him play in the game. The very next day,
he was cleared by doctors and they won. Oh yeah,
they won. He got play time, and the rest is history.
I mean, he later on in the season had a
shoulder injury. That was the first thing he said, let's

(03:04):
go to the chamber.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
So yeah, I recall I've seen him come in because
it's not often you see, and this is exactly where
we were starting at the beginning. He wanted to come in.
Oh you know.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
It wasn't like because he takes me to the emergency.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
Room because they're gonna wrap my ankle and I won't
be able to all be in a boot or whatever.
He was like, let's get me a problems, get me
in there, and he was excited. He came in. He
was like, Okay, I'm lee.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
He understood because he watched a he watched you get better,
but be you educated your whole family on it because
you were so interested in educating yourself on it once
you saw that it truly was working right.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
So I wanted to take just a minute because, as
I said, we're giving out a public service, and I'm
not saying this is the end all be all, what
does it d be all, end all whatever. I'm not
saying this is the panacea for everything. But I myself
personally am very allergic to poison ivy. Yes, and particularly

(04:02):
on my face. For some reason, I have a hypersensitivity
on my face. If I get it on my face,
my eyes will swell up, It'll get in my nose,
it can go down my throat. My whole face just
looks like I'm a balloon face and red and you know,
all sorts of nasty, nasty stuff. And so the only
thing that has worked in the past has been predmozone.
Get on it now. It used to be a five

(04:24):
day thing of Pregna zone. Now they're giving a ten
day or a twenty day. That's what they have in
all the books and the paperwork. So they've increased it
because they're afraid of rebound poison ivy, which I never
had at any rate. So I came in and we
have a nurse practitioner, and I said, take a look
at me, and can you Can you write a prescription
for pregmazone. So she said yes, she did. She called

(04:46):
it in and that was kind of around noon or
something and didn't have a chance to pick it up.
And Courtney said, why don't you run up and get
under the red light panel. I said, I never thought
of that, and so because it's really good for skin conditions,
and so I ran up got under the red light.
I don't know, fifteen minutes is that what she's yeah,

(05:08):
fifteen minutes whatever, I mean. It was just a one
and done type of thing. And so I got out
and she goes, how do you feel? And I said
about the same. You know, I'm not feeling any great
thing yet. I'm still like trying to keep from clawing
my face because it hurts so badly in my eyes
I can barely keep open. And so it wasn't until
about three thirty or four that I got over to

(05:29):
pick up the prescription. I picked it up, and I thought,
you know, I'm not going to take this right now.
We'll wait till I get home, maybe see how I
feel after dinner. And so after dinner, I thought, oh,
I'm not really feel real itchy, and I think my
eyes feel like they're beginning to open a little bit.
Maybe I'll just wait till tomorrow morning. So I waited

(05:52):
till tomorrow morning, which was Tuesday morning, and Tuesday morning
I had no poison ivy.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
No, I mean say the red light we say, we
mean red in your infrared photo biomodulation. It's just it's
a light panel that we have. You can come in.
We have a full body panel that you can get under,
and uh, it's it helps take away irritations, reduces inflammation,
It penetrates through to the cells, so it helps with
cellular metabolism so that your body itself can fight this off.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
It's relaxing. It's very relaxing, it is. And so you
know at that point, I mean I still have a
little bit of kind of scaliness or whatever where it
dried it out, but the itching stopped, which is the
big thing. The itching and the swelling.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Stopped, and you did not have to take the medication.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
No, I never took the red.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
I hate doing it, but previously that's been the only
thing that would step for my son.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
I'm gonna have to try that.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
Yeah, you get them in tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
Absolutely, Oh, yes, because you said we've been clearing trees
the last couple of days. And he's the same as you.
If poison ivy is in the air, it's immediately and
his eyes and just miserable.

Speaker 1 (06:58):

you love. Be an advocate.
