Speaker 1 (00:00):
Linda from Vance Outdoors on the line with us and Linda,
you one day have to meet. These two gentlemen are
in studio with us. They are big fans of big
guns or any guns. In fact, Latt Dillgard, you said
you bought your eighteen year old son his first gun. Correct.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Yeah, for Christmas. I gave him a in a box
a present, a pretend squirt gun, and said, let's go
to Vance's and buy whatever you want. We settled on
this nine millimeter. We go out to the shooting range
and shoot it all the time. And Vances did a
great job customer service.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
Does she love hearing that, Linda?
Speaker 2 (00:35):
I do.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
That's good to know. I like it when we have
a good customer service.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
Yet and then Zach Duffy, he said he grew up
on guns, did you not?
Speaker 4 (00:43):
I did? I did. My dad. My dad and another
fireman slash paramedic in nineteen ninety five, I believe, started
the Franklin County Swat Teams Medical Unit, first of its coin.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (00:55):
Yeah, really did that.
Speaker 4 (00:57):
For five years, and so my dad would take us
into Vance Is when I was a kid.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
You guys would love Linda like she literally is a bad,
bad age.
Speaker 3 (01:07):
Yea, I would.
Speaker 5 (01:09):
I wouldn't want to try to assault her in a
parking lot. People come, she's one of the best, h
best that that I've heard rumors and I've never seen
her shoot, but the guys say, yeah, you don't want
to try to outshoot her.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
Right now, one of her most important jobs is getting
women used to their guns, training them so they know
what they're doing. But Linda, that's keeping you busy because
more and more women are buying guns these days, right.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
Absolutely definitely, And you know, women need to understand that
there's not always someone there to protect them, and we
should be able to protect ourselves.
Speaker 5 (01:42):
Yeah, Kyliene take it down a notch with her volume police,
but yeah, yeah, but yeah, we need that. And and
I think I took a friend of mine shooting there
and she's still afraid of guns, so she went other directions.
And because of your coaching, not you directly, but your
people there, she was able to buy the proper stun
gun and stuff to keep her safe because she was
just afraid of a firearm. And that's okay too, right.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
Absolutely, then not firearms are not for everyone. You have
to have the mental capacity to understand what can happen
when you use that.
Speaker 5 (02:15):
So do you teach backdrop? Because here's the thing. The
other day there was a guy outside my shop acting
kind of goofy, and I didn't know what kind of
he acted as if he had a weapon, And first
thing I thought in my mind, if I have to
pull my firearm and take him out, I thought about
the backdrop. So when you're training these people, how he's
a firearm because not everybody's going to hit the target easily.
(02:36):
I mean, let's be honest, it's a whole different in
your shooting. You teach him to see the backdrop.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Absolutely, you have to know what your target is and
what's beyond your target.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
What do you think, what do you think is the
best weapon for a woman to own, maybe and young
and middle aged, because we're going to be buying one
for my wife and my daughter here pretty soon.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
Well the best one. The best one is the one
that you can handle and shoot accurately.
Speaker 5 (03:09):
Explain to him. Else she could come meet your class
and shoot all the different guns and buy the gun
because you'll be surprised. You'll think block clock lock, and
then she'll go shoot the gun and go wait, I
like the smith and Wesson. It's like driving a car. Question.
Speaker 4 (03:22):
Yea, what only is what are you seeing as the
most common waits for females to carry? Is it really
the quick release brawl strap?
Speaker 3 (03:32):
Absolutely not. There are a lot better options for carrying
and different ways to carry. I'm not a fan of
off body carry at all, but you're a bra strap
is You're flagging everyone as you're drawing, So trigger management
(03:54):
is extremely important.
Speaker 5 (03:55):
How about your purse as you saw, I was walking
through there during the car show and I noticed you
have a ton of lady purses are elegant looking. I mean,
I don't buy purses, but from what I've seen, no,
I don't till jeez, but uh, there's holsters they have
purses not but you are fifty to fifty on those.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
So here's my role. Practice with it. Whatever you're going
to use, practice with it on a regular basis so
that you don't have to think about how do I
get to it, how do we get it out, how
do we get it on target? So it's an with
any holster, you know, on body or off body. Make
sure you're practicing.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
Okay, okay, all right, Lindon. What's the best way for
people can get ahold of Vance. It's so easy, but
