Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's five o'clock, Got yours us day? The It's two
Sun Roadrunners Happy Out from Fox Sports fourteen fifty Am
with Jonathan shit Right, Kim cod Roadblacks.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
We know the story, but you gotta tell the viewers
that starts.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
It's so funny.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
It's our usual Tuesday night together.

Speaker 4 (00:18):
So I don't know, maybe we should start implementing some
break dance pre games during the season and see how
that goes.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Right here on Tucson's Sports Day yet, Fox Sports fourteen
fifty am.

Speaker 4 (00:29):
Fox Sports fourteen fifty Am, our usual Tuesday night get together.
Roadrunners Happy are here with Johnson Schaeffer and Kim Coder Roblez. Kim, Hi,
Johnny Hi, how's it going good?

Speaker 3 (00:39):
Very good?

Speaker 4 (00:39):
Yeah, Merry Christmas. We're doing a bit of a different
episode today.

Speaker 5 (00:42):
Merry Christmas, Happy, Happy Monica, Happy Boxing Day. Just get
it all okay, all in there, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (00:48):
Job doing a bit of a different episode today since
we have New Year's Eve coming up. Yes, we're not
gonna be working that day. Of course, we're gonna be
maybe partying or whatever people do on New Year's Eve.
But so we're we're doing a bit of a walk
in special We had a couple of these last year
on game days when the show aired. So we're gonna
be doing the exact same thing. When guys walk into

(01:08):
the door, we're gonna be hopefully grabbing them if they're
down to do it. And yeah, just talked to him
for a few minutes each and we're gonna kind of
rotate throughout the night. Fully confirmed guy we're getting is
Austin Bcganski did ask him ahead of time to make
sure that he was okay because we want to talk
to our captain after.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
You know what the Roadrunners have been doing this season.

Speaker 4 (01:28):
So if you're listening to this live, we are here
Saturday night, right before game time. We have to Colorado
Eagles coming up. Roadrunners aren't a six game winning streak
playing great hockey right now, you're knocking on well, I
don't know if this is would We're in a different
spot too, We're right, we're right in our media area. Also,
we're not in our press box. We're not at home.
We are at the Tucson Arena right now and yeack Kim.

(01:51):
You know, we'll see what happens this weekend. But once again,
it feels like another playoff series coming up for the Roadrunners,
and we're starting to scoreboard watch for a lot of
these games, whether it's OS, other teams in the Pacific Division,
it's all getting in such a tight race right now.
And for the guys to get six wins in a
row going into the holiday break, I think that was

(02:11):
amazing for the team. But now you give back, you
had a couple of days off, the guys had practice
just yesterday, and you know, my mentality of is let's
start another one. Let's start another streak. You know, we
won the six games and the crazy stretch that we did,
we accomplished that. Now let's start a news streak and
Steven get some more wins. Coming up tonight on the Saturday.

Speaker 5 (02:31):
First of all, I think today is going to be
pandemonium a little bit. It's going to be very fluid.
So if you're listening, we have no idea what's gonna happen.
We're just gonna take it as it comes.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
We're gonna take as they're gonna take.

Speaker 5 (02:42):
The players as they walk in the door and they're
scheduled to be here anytime in the next hour or so.
And then whoever walks in the doors, who are going
to talk to if we have Pogo. You said that
he's kind of a mid a mid arrival point guy.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
Right, Yeah, I heard he comes kind of early though, but.

Speaker 5 (03:01):
Not as early as do you think, first we're gonna
see Maddy or are we gonna see Cameron he Big
or we're gonna see Ardam Dudah or Sam Lukin.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
I say we're gonna see Matthew Voalta first. And there's
even times where I feel like I'm here early and
you see Matthew Valta's red Camaro and it's like, oh,
he's in a building now. Of course he is starting
at this point, so well, we don't want to disturb him.
A lot of these guys have different pregame routines that
we've talked about throughout this season.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Some guys are, you know, a bit more laid back.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
They kind of ease their way into it, and then
some guys are fully locked in, like yeah, Sam Lipkin,
Cameron he Big, Artam Duda and then of course every
goaltender who's starting in a game they kind of get
into their feel as well. So we obviously we're not
gonna be able to get everybody. We want to give
guys their time to, you know, get ready for tonight's
big game. Up to this point and again, folks, we

(03:52):
are pre recording from Saturday if you are watching this
or listening to this live on Tuesday. But yeah, it's
just a nice walking special to uh, you know, give
the guy some leverage coming into the New Year's Kim.

Speaker 5 (04:04):
Was the door right now? The first team is everyone? Okay?
So neither one of us talked about Steve or Pott's
or Stort's coming in first, but that is definitely a
possibility that Storts might beat the rest of the players
in that we just talked about. Did you say who
you thought one of the four would be? We need

(04:25):
to talk to Stories. He's so great.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
To grab him.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
We'll grab him.

Speaker 5 (04:28):
Who did you pick out of the Do you think
Mattie's going to be first.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
Out of the players? I would guess Matthew Wolalta to
be coming in first.

Speaker 5 (04:34):
I am going to take Sam if you.

Speaker 4 (04:37):
Want to get on for a sec, you want to
get on, Let's get Steve on all right. Steve Popvin
is in the building for our first edition of Steve.

Speaker 5 (04:47):
You're carrying a bowl of something. What is this?

Speaker 6 (04:50):
It's nothing all that interesting? Actually it's just a little salad.

Speaker 5 (04:53):
It is so tiny.

Speaker 6 (04:55):
It's from the Monica.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Dinner, isn't It's not.

Speaker 6 (05:00):
But I needed to get out of there quick, so
I just asked for whatever.

Speaker 5 (05:02):
Was ready, good idea, and I.

Speaker 6 (05:05):
Had to make up for some some pretty heavy meals over.

Speaker 4 (05:10):
I'm totally I told myself this entire week, no sugar, like,
I can't have any sugar.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
I ate so many bait goods. Sweet.

Speaker 4 (05:17):
My parents even sent me home with more stuff, and
I'm like, I need a break so bad.

Speaker 6 (05:23):
It's so enticing and inviting. Put all the nice colors
on it.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
It's hard for ye.

Speaker 5 (05:29):
I eat a lot of Tomali's. I'm sure neither one
of you had any, but I had so many Tamali's.
So yeah, I went for a run today.

Speaker 7 (05:36):
Good good, it's nice. I did the same thing. You
need to get the blood circulating. My wife keeps telling me,
you got to go out for a run now, just
to do something move, just so you know your your
your blood is circulating. It's better for your brain.

Speaker 5 (05:48):
Did you how was your your break? Did and did
all the kids come?

Speaker 1 (05:52):
Oh?

Speaker 8 (05:52):
It was good.

Speaker 5 (05:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (05:53):
We had just our immediate family the first time in
a long time that happened.

Speaker 8 (05:57):
So it was nice.

Speaker 3 (05:57):
Yeah, it was nice. It was nice.

Speaker 6 (05:59):
I think, you know, I read somewhere and I'm sure
you guys have read this also, but if you don't
take a break, your body's going to find a way
to give you a break. So it was it was
nice to It was nice to have a break. It
was nice to see everybody. It was RESTful, peaceful, and look,
we went in with a six game winning streak, so
it made Christmas.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
You know, very light, and it was it was good.

Speaker 5 (06:21):
It was nice, very well deserved break.

Speaker 6 (06:23):
I think that you you got well, you know, I
don't know, it's I think if there's no break, you
just kind of keep going. And you know, kind of
goes back to what I was saying, your body at
some point is going to tell you you need a break,
and it's not going to ask, it's just going to
tell you, right right.

Speaker 5 (06:38):
But it wasn't even like a long break. You guys
were back on the ice of the day after Christmas.

Speaker 6 (06:43):
No, Actually it was it was different, a little different
this year. We we on the twenty seventh. Yesterday, we
came in and had a practice and play. We had
a morning skate so it was. It was RESTful. Listener,
It's time to get back at it now, right, I think, yeah,
let's go. Missus pot Find probably feels, you know, stronger
about that than I do, just like it's been nice
seeing you.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
Now it's time to go.

Speaker 5 (07:04):
Yeah, that's awesome.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
It kind of happens that way, how about you, guys.

Speaker 6 (07:06):
Christmas was good.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
It was good.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
Yeah, it was a good time. Drove home.

Speaker 4 (07:10):
As I was telling you, Yeah, Steve was giving me
a hard time because I kept complaining about it. Was like, oh,
now we have to go drive home. What's the matter
with you?

Speaker 3 (07:20):
No, it was.

Speaker 4 (07:20):
Actually the drive home was a bit rough because it's like, yeah,
you're on the plane and then you get on the car.
But I don't know why the drive back to Tucson
was so much more smooth.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
I think it's just because I woke up early.

Speaker 4 (07:30):
Maybe you're leaving home and you're a little sad, so
like you get back to your destination quicker rather than
when you're driving home you're so excited to get home,
it feels a little longer.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
I guess it takes forever.

Speaker 6 (07:40):
The expectations kill you.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
Yeah, you know, it was good.

Speaker 4 (07:44):
Just yeah, it was nice to not do anything for
a few days once, but it's also really nice to
be back.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
Especially.

Speaker 4 (07:49):
I think it's nice that we've kind of got thrown
into this schedule now and now we have games coming up.

Speaker 9 (07:54):
Yeah, let's get back at it.

Speaker 6 (07:55):
I'll let you guys get back out to see you
guys Christmas. Second years there listening, Thank I appreciate, thank you.

Speaker 4 (08:03):
All right, well, Steve Povin, first one in the building,
first one on this walking special, all right, next up,
but walking by.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
Doing as usual distributing the game notes to all of
our staffs.

Speaker 4 (08:16):
Here is Chase Clemens, Chase, how's it going man? How's
the How's Christmas for you?

Speaker 10 (08:21):
Johnny Kim? I had a great Christmas? And thanks first
off for having me. I was in Portland visiting family
for a couple of days. So yeah, good trip, short
and sweet and good to be back, ready for another Homestand.

Speaker 4 (08:36):
So, Chase, your story is really interesting, right, and I
don't think we've talked about this yet, So we were
going to first bring you on as an intern right
when Adrian was still here. The big announcement hasn't didn't
come yet, and we're gonna bring you on as an
intern and then all of a sudden, Adrian got promoted
or or he got went to the Utah Hockey Club,
and then I got promoted to the voice of the Roadrunners,

(08:56):
and then we brought you on full time. So you
went from intern to full time and about a span
of like a week. What was that experience like for you?
What have you liked to hear about Tucson? You you
were having You're in school too to start off the season.
You're bouncing around those and then you finally moved here
to Tucson. How's the whole journey been for you so far?

Speaker 10 (09:13):
Yeah, it's been awesome, so grateful to have been sort
of the lone survivor there, the last man standing too.
Uh to take I guess your old your old seat.
But yeah, first first season in pro hockey, Yeah, I
couldn't couldn't have been better at having a blast. You know,
doesn't definitely beats working, that's that's for sure, but you are,

(09:38):
You're working so.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
Much it doesn't feel like work. Yeah, you know at
the end of the day, Yeah.

Speaker 10 (09:45):
We're mostly hanging out talking about hockey, riding about hockey,
doing hockey related things. So yeah, it's awesome and like
you said, I was finishing up grad school at ACU
the first couple of months of the season, which uh
kind of killed me at times because you know, kind
of just wanted to be here at all times. So
whenever it wasn't around the team, didn't feel didn't feel right.

(10:08):
But yeah, I've been, you know, prior to this experience,
worked in a few other sports at the internship level,
you know, like the Cardinals, and feel the most home
at hockey. I guess havn't grown up played the sport,
and I've lived in Tucson full time now for yeah,
coming up on a month.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
Yeah, first, Yeah, that's crazy.

Speaker 4 (10:32):
I remember when we first brought you on and we
had a deep phone call about it, and you know,
it was just like just six weeks of you not
being here and like it was just kind of you
virtual and then whatever had to be done in person,
How are we going to do that?

Speaker 2 (10:45):
How are we going to do this?

Speaker 4 (10:46):
But we just thought just six weeks and then now
you're here and it felt like you weren't even like
never here at all. It just felt like you've been
here the entire season.

Speaker 10 (10:52):
Well I helped that I missed a fair amount of
class and it was here as much as possible. So yeah,
shout out to all the support of ASU professors and
classmates that kind of kept me kept me afloat.

Speaker 5 (11:05):
And how did you How did you get into hockey?
Did you grow up in Oregon? And what was your
first step into the hockey world.

Speaker 10 (11:13):
Yeah, so I actually grew up in the Phoenix area,
moved there from Soko that I was pretty young, like
sixth grade, and I went to college for my undergrad
organ and family relocated there. So I think that's kind
of the backstory or people everyone thinks I'm from.

Speaker 5 (11:32):
Morgan Did they follow you for undergrad or yeah?

Speaker 10 (11:36):
Kind of unintentionally. My sister got a job at Doc
Martin's footwear company. Now she's with Adidas, and then my
dad was working from home before yeah, anyone was. He
was kind of ahead of his time, so he ended
up following her out there.

Speaker 5 (11:52):
And wow.

Speaker 10 (11:53):
Yeah, so yeah, any anytime you guys won an Adidas
hook up, I got you.

Speaker 5 (12:00):
This is my favorite Christmas gifts that I got is
a nice Yes, I am so excited and I'm low
key like scared to wear them. At the same time,
they're so pretty. I don't want to anything bad to
happen to them.

Speaker 10 (12:10):
So I, yeah, I got to support the family business.
But I'm also an Oregon guy, so you know, Nike's
kind of in my DNA too, so I try to
try to mix it up and support both. But yeah,
I grew up playing hockey. Uh not very well played
at Notre Dame Prep High school. Just kind of your
average high school player, I guess. So yeah, if you're

(12:32):
not good enough to uh, you know, play, or if
you're not good enough to play, probably not good enough
to coach.

Speaker 3 (12:39):
So this, this career is kind of the next next
best thing.

Speaker 5 (12:42):
That's awesome. Well, we're very excited that you're here. Somebody
needs to keep Johnny in line.

Speaker 8 (12:48):
He does.

Speaker 4 (12:49):
I try, he truly does well. Chase, thanks so much
for coming on. We appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
Let's uh, let's have a great game tonight and let's
go to song.

Speaker 9 (12:56):
Let's do it.

Speaker 8 (12:56):
Let's go Roadrunners.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
Are Kim.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
That was awesome.

Speaker 4 (13:00):
Got Chase Clemens in on the show. He's been such
a huge asset for me, you know, throughout the season
a little different because last year, you know, I was
still doing on radio stuff. It's still being on the
podcast and Chase has been more behind the scenes, but
it might start getting a more on radio soons. He
has a really good radio voice, so great to have
him on, Kim. What'd you overall do for Christmas? How

(13:22):
was your Christmas break?

Speaker 2 (13:24):
We've been asking everybody else, but we haven't asked ourselves yet.

Speaker 5 (13:27):
So my Christmas isn't really a break because I'm from Tucson,
so I would say ninety five percent of my extended
family is here. Okay, so Christmas is no travel though,
time off.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
That's nice.

Speaker 5 (13:38):
No, no, no, that wasn't the question, though you said
how well part of its travel? You can imagine seeing
a hundred of your closest relatives all over the span
of four hours on Christmas Eve in two separate houses
with you know, like a three hour white elephant Christmas Caroline,
just a ton of Tamali's. I'm sure there's I'm not
the I know I'm not the only one two son

(14:00):
who has this experience. But Christmas Eve in my family
is exhausting, exhausting. It's so much.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
We don't do anything.

Speaker 5 (14:09):
I know, not like that.

Speaker 4 (14:09):
It's funny, yeah, because a lot of families, or I
would say most families do like a big event for
New Year's Eve, New Year's Eve for Christmas Eve, and
then have another big event for Christmas Day. Right, my
family and I we we just chill, like I don't
even remember what we did Christmas Eve. I don't think
we really. Oh, I watched I watched San Jose State
loose in the Hawaii Bowl. So that was that's football. Okay,

(14:32):
So yeah, Sanisey State was in Hawaii.

Speaker 2 (14:34):
They lost. That's that was my Christmas Eve.

Speaker 4 (14:36):
And then Christmas Day we just uh my mom makes
keish and then we have breakfast and then uh open
the presents, and then we watched football day because there's
football on Christmas now for whatever reason, on a Wednesday.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
Netflix on Netflix. Yeah Wednesday, that it was a Wednesday.
It was It was fine.

Speaker 4 (14:53):
I mean, two boring games in my opinion, and then yeah,
just kind of spent the night not doing anything. Oh
that's all I kind of wanted to do on Christmas
is nothing, which and be with the family though, you know.
So uh yeah it was nice.

Speaker 5 (15:06):
Is that's awesome? Yeah? No, My family goes really hard
on Christmas Eve every Friday. Different got home at midnight
and I was one of the first families to leave
on Christmas Eve, and then we had the reason why
I wanted to leave was because my immediate family does
this small, intimate Christmas morning, but my niece had to
work that morning, so we had to get together at
seven am. Oh and like I said, I was the

(15:28):
first one to leave.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
Yeah, no, I get that now because you're up at
seven am.

Speaker 5 (15:32):
And yeah, it's yeah. So after we opened presents, like
just immediate family, then everybody kind of goes home and
goes back to the sleep.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
Because I didn't get out of bed.

Speaker 4 (15:40):
I didn't get out of bed for Christmas until like eleven,
Like I was finally showing up downstairs and everyone was
already downstairs watching football, and they're like, where have you been.
I'm like, this is the first time I've slept in
in like months.

Speaker 5 (15:53):
Leave me alone.

Speaker 2 (15:54):
Let me sleep in for once. Serious, No, it was
it was nice.

Speaker 4 (15:57):
Any plans for New Year's They're having the Taco Taco
drop here in downtown to tacod I'm going to that.

Speaker 5 (16:03):
Are you?

Speaker 3 (16:03):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (16:03):
They don't have to tell me how it is. I've
never been.

Speaker 4 (16:05):
You've lived in Tucson your whole life. Have you never
been to the Taco.

Speaker 5 (16:09):
Drive into the Grand Canyon either. I've flown over it
a million times.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
I've been there like once. That's crazy.

Speaker 4 (16:15):
I even I got introduced to the to the Taco
Drop last year, so that that wasn't too bad.

Speaker 3 (16:20):
It was good.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
It's a fun time.

Speaker 5 (16:22):
Yeah, you'll have to snapchat it to me because I
have no idea what it even looks like. I don't
know I have Snapchat. I don't know.

Speaker 4 (16:29):
I know I having on TikTok and Instagram and everything else.
I don't think I have you on Snapchat.

Speaker 5 (16:34):
I don't even that's see. Let's see, I think you.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
Just look up my name.

Speaker 4 (16:39):
Kim is looking up her Snapchat right now to see
if she has me added, which I.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
Don't think she does. Spelled your name wrong, John, No,
you still spelled my name wrong.

Speaker 3 (16:49):
I did.

Speaker 5 (16:49):
Is that you right there? That you're right there? No,
you don't have me, You're not anywhere.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
That's crazy.

Speaker 5 (16:54):
But also who just walked by us? Was Nikki our
new physical there?

Speaker 1 (17:00):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (17:00):
So uh, I want to say athletic training assistant and
physical therapist as well. Yes, new addition, new position uh
this year for the team as well, and uh yeah
they've done a really good job. The whole Mets staff
has done a really good job. And now that I've
like kind of worked more, you know, in depth with
the the hockey ops side.

Speaker 2 (17:21):
Like I see what they do to day.

Speaker 5 (17:23):
Oh you did?

Speaker 9 (17:24):
Is that it?

Speaker 5 (17:24):
Right? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (17:25):
That's me. Yeah, it has a mustache. Okay, there you go.

Speaker 4 (17:29):
All right, Kim and I now have each other on Snapchat.
You don't have to No one needs to panic anymore,
all right. Next up is walking in is Sam Lipkin.
We're not gonna get him. He has a different pre
game about those.

Speaker 5 (17:40):
Shad what about those shames he doesn't have to make.

Speaker 4 (17:43):
Yeah, the funny part about doing this and I don't
feel better, But at the same time I do. Guys
walk in, they look at us and they're like they
just run because they know they know.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (17:54):
The only the only person that I've asked to be
for sure coming on is Austin mcgansky. So we're still
waiting for him, but so far we got Vilalta, Kim
he Big and oh you mean in the building in
the building.

Speaker 5 (18:04):
Sorry, And also we just need to talk for a
second about how actively viciously aggressive camp he Big was
at avoiding eye contact with you. Either one of us
as he walked into the building and then walked around us.

Speaker 4 (18:16):
No, he's neither of us, saying he's too dialed in.
All right, we're gonna take a quick break. We're gonna
wait for our next guests to come in right here
on Fox Sports. It might be Zach Startini. Does he
want to come on?

Speaker 2 (18:26):
You might?

Speaker 8 (18:26):
You might not?

Speaker 2 (18:27):
You want to come on the show? Real quick?

Speaker 8 (18:29):
All right?

Speaker 2 (18:29):
Get over, All right, we're not gonna take a break taking.

Speaker 5 (18:31):
Phone call on a phone call? Didn't Were you just
pretending to talk to somebody like you? Oh? There you go?

Speaker 4 (18:38):
All right, get on the headset, all right. Next up
is Zach Startini just walking into the building.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
A coach. How's it going?

Speaker 9 (18:44):
Very good? How about you guys?

Speaker 5 (18:46):
Good good? You talk about a voice for radio, this guy,
Oh yeah, for radio that the voice is like so smooth.

Speaker 9 (18:56):
I appreciate that. You guys are too kind.

Speaker 2 (18:58):
Yeah, I mean you're really good on your interviews, too.

Speaker 9 (19:00):
Appreciate it. I appreciate him trying trying to get better.

Speaker 5 (19:03):
It's a holiday, It was great, Yeah, it was great.

Speaker 9 (19:05):
Yeah, one time of year.

Speaker 1 (19:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (19:07):
What did you get? Did you get anything where you're
just like.

Speaker 9 (19:09):
Yes, the best gift of all was watching my little
guy just ripped through presence. It was awesome, you know,
just kind of the first real Christmas of him getting
a chance to see you know what that's all about,
spending time together, having some great meals, and then yeah,
celebrating the holiday. So he like a year and a half,
he's getting old, he's three, Yeah real, well, yeah.

Speaker 5 (19:30):
My goodness, yes, holy smokes, this is the last.

Speaker 9 (19:32):
Year and a half of his Oh, I know, it
goes so quick.

Speaker 5 (19:35):
I know, it really does. Yeah, it really does. It
take all the photos and videos. I was just talking
to my daughter about this the other day about how
when she was tiny, there wasn't Snapchat, there wasn't like
a lot of video options, and she and I were
living off by ourselves in Washington and California, and I
never took any videos of her when she was tiny,
And I'm like, I regret doing.

Speaker 3 (19:53):
That, like not having that different time, different era, you know.

Speaker 9 (19:57):
So I mean, yeah, I mean great memories. I'm sure
that are you know, pictures forever in your mind that
you never forget and you're present in those experiences, you know,
So that's always, uh, you know, a great thing, you know.
So that's that's pretty Yeah.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
Different, the coolest gift that your son got.

Speaker 3 (20:16):
Oh man, he got spoiled.

Speaker 9 (20:19):
Yeah, that's right, that's the right way to do it.
So I think it was.

Speaker 3 (20:23):
He's a big Godzilla fan.

Speaker 9 (20:25):
You got a dinosaurs, Yeah, loves dinosaurs, big t rex guy.

Speaker 5 (20:29):
So you get him that Godzilla that the spine lights
up and then he shoots missed out of his mouth.

Speaker 9 (20:33):
Yes, that thing is.

Speaker 5 (20:35):
Have you seen? Oh my god, I got what? I
got one of these as a gift for somebody else.
Come on, yeah, because you can actually put them near
your plants and then they just missed.

Speaker 3 (20:43):
Way you guys can use it to Yeah that much
of a green thumb.

Speaker 5 (20:47):
But yeah, and it makes like this big loud god
zillanoise and the spinel. Oh it's so cool, walks around.
Got the remote?

Speaker 3 (20:53):
Yeah yeah yeah.

Speaker 5 (20:56):
Are you sure it's not a gift for you?

Speaker 3 (20:58):
May?

Speaker 6 (21:00):
Playing with.

Speaker 5 (21:02):
May?

Speaker 2 (21:02):
Now now you have an excuse to get a plan
and water.

Speaker 5 (21:05):
Perfect.

Speaker 3 (21:06):
Yeah, that's awesome.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
Well perfect, well starts. Well, we'll let you go. Good
luck tonight, and thanks for stopping by for a sec.

Speaker 3 (21:11):
Thank you for having me appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (21:14):
When we come back, we'll get our next guest, we'll
take a quick bit of a game day special here,
a walk in special. We're grabbing some guys as they
walk into the building. So far we have gotten Steve Potvin,
Chase Clemens, and uh Zach Stortini.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
So far.

Speaker 5 (21:29):
You need to tell people who Chase Clemens is in case.
We're just coming in on this right now, right.

Speaker 2 (21:32):
That's true? All right, so good idea. You see, this
is why you're better at radio than I.

Speaker 4 (21:36):
Maybe you should just take over as our voice of
that road round, Kim cos Yeah, Chase is our media,
media relations and PR coordinator. He was brought on this
season to kind of take over my past role but
be more of the PR side, more of the writing
aspects and everything. But honestly, he has a voice for
radio too, so you might see him a bit more

(21:56):
as the season goes on. Yeah, I heard his story
coming from coming in as an intern, lasting about a
week as an intern, and then being promoted to the
full time role after Adrian Denny went to the Utah
Hockey Club and then I was promoted to the voice
of the Roadrunners. Talk to Zach Startini about his Christmas
what he got for his son. I mean I'm a

(22:17):
little jealous. I kind of want a Christmas, like.

Speaker 5 (22:20):
A three year old Christmas. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (22:22):
If I got to go back in time, I got
to go back in time right now and have a
three year old Christmas again, I would one hundred percent
do it, because it's like all these are still fun,
but like it's no different, no better time than to
be a kid on Christmas morning, like you know those
like like I said, I slept until eleven am on
Christmas Day. Okay, I didn't get out of bed at

(22:43):
least I didn't get downstairs at that time. But then
when you're a kid, you wake up in the morning
and you just want to go open presents, so you
wake everybody in the building up. You're jumping on the
parents' bed and then you just start tearing into the presence.
But as an adult, you just wake up and you're like, Okay,
we'll get to the gifts when we get to them.

Speaker 5 (23:00):
Yeah, yeah, And it's uh, I mean, it's very different,
like because when you become an adult, it becomes more
about giving. And I don't know about you, but I
actually love giving and I kind of go overboard fun.
I have so many presents left at my house that
I bought with the attention of giving to people, and
then I just had already given them.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
There's intern Brad.

Speaker 4 (23:18):
He's okay, he's doing his bread now, he's doing his
usual pregame routine, getting our easy intern.

Speaker 5 (23:25):
Brad, did you get a haircut? It looks so good.

Speaker 4 (23:28):
B Brad, you want to come on, Brad, you want
to come on first, You want to come on, Get
in here, get in your bread, gets the bread our
intern of was it?

Speaker 2 (23:38):
Third season? Fourth season?

Speaker 8 (23:39):
Third?

Speaker 4 (23:40):
Third Season's kind of the longest tenured road runner within
the communications staff, you know, with Adrian leaving and all.

Speaker 2 (23:46):
But Brad, how is your Christmas?

Speaker 4 (23:48):
Good?

Speaker 2 (23:49):
To see you again? Nice? Nice haircut?

Speaker 5 (23:51):
It's very late more it's giving.

Speaker 2 (23:53):
How's it going good?

Speaker 8 (23:55):
Yeah? Christmas was good. Went up to Phoenix. Uh, hung
out with my family, saw my grandma, saw my aunt,
my sister. Is good to see everybody. Yeah, the haircut,
I like it.

Speaker 5 (24:05):
It looks good.

Speaker 8 (24:06):
I went into Supercuts.

Speaker 2 (24:08):
Yes, yes, you told me you went to Supercuts. I'm like,
why would you go.

Speaker 8 (24:12):
To supercuts because it's right down the street from my house.

Speaker 4 (24:15):
No, sorry to anyone from Supercuts listening and on this show.
But yeah, sometimes I've been there before and they haven't
done the best haircut. I won't give any specific location.

Speaker 5 (24:25):
So but also, wait right now, it looks like you
didn't even try. It looks like you're got to cut.
But then some of it's long and some of it's short.
But you didn't put anything in it. I feel like
if you put some stuff in it, like some paste
or put chutney in the top of it, like it
would look so hot. You lost me at past glue
put some glue in it or an egg.

Speaker 8 (24:44):
Let's see what I got at home.

Speaker 3 (24:46):
I do have eggs.

Speaker 5 (24:46):
Yeah, I figured you would have eggs. And I know
you have like wood glue. I do have very handy.

Speaker 8 (24:50):
I have a lot of different glues. No Elmer's glue,
though I'd probably go for the Elmer's glue because it's
easy to wash out.

Speaker 5 (24:56):
Also, you have a girlfriend who could help you with
these things.

Speaker 3 (24:59):
True.

Speaker 8 (24:59):
True, she's not in town right now.

Speaker 5 (25:03):
How do we get her? So we get her on
the line.

Speaker 4 (25:05):
So, Brad, you have an interesting story too. And I
think it's the first time you've ever come on this show.
But you're your major in college is like engineering and
or somewhere in that aspect. You're not even in communications
journalism at all, You're just here because you love the
sport of hockey.

Speaker 5 (25:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (25:21):
Yeah, I go to school for industrial engineering and I
interviewed for a position with the U of A hockey
team actually, and the guy I interviewed with sent my
stuff over to Adrian to bring me on as a
Spanish communications guy.

Speaker 5 (25:36):
Oh wow.

Speaker 8 (25:37):
Yeah, and then yeah, I've been on for three seasons
just for the love of the game.

Speaker 3 (25:43):
Love it.

Speaker 4 (25:44):
And now this year you're doing the first star interviews.
You've done some intermission interviews as well.

Speaker 2 (25:49):
How you liking that? Kind of a new thing for
you as well.

Speaker 8 (25:51):
Yeah, it's definitely new. Don't quite exactly know what I'm doing, fair,
but you know I'm getting through it, I'm making making
it happen, and I'm having a good time doing it.

Speaker 4 (26:03):
Well perfect, Well, Brad, I'll let you get back to
work because you're you're obviously doing a lot to get
us ready for the game tonight, so we'll let you
go by Usay, thanks for stopping by real quick.

Speaker 8 (26:10):
Thanks for having me, Thanks, Brad.

Speaker 2 (26:12):
I love the hair, Love the hair, Brad.

Speaker 4 (26:14):
All right, just had Brad Kerner on our intern our
communications and broadcasting intern, third year, tenured roadrunner, longest in
the communication staff, and he's getting everything ready for us
at the moment.

Speaker 5 (26:26):
And if you come to a game and you see Brad,
how tall are you? Six four six four? Okay, so
a tall six to four, dark headed dude wandering around
the concourse in an orange shoot with a bolo tie.
That is Brad and you need to be friends with
him because he's.

Speaker 4 (26:39):
Amazing, amazing man. So we're still kind of waiting for
guys to get here. I was expecting people to get
here a lot more earlier than this, So we'll still
banter on here. We're for sure getting also Biganski when
he walks in.

Speaker 5 (26:51):
We did miss we did. We came in while we
were talking to Brad. Yes, but they were not on
our list of guys that we want we need to
talk to. I guess we have very loose list.

Speaker 4 (27:01):
Want Yeah, we do, but I want good guys we
haven't talked to yet this season because we've gone so
many guys on the Happy Hour Show. Just had our
Christmas special premiere last week, which was the we were
at the holiday party. We talked to Duda, Dan Wells
and Peter de Latoria. Yeah, so that was a really
good show. I still have the sweets from that, the

(27:22):
sweets that we were going to do.

Speaker 5 (27:23):
Really I do well.

Speaker 4 (27:24):
Like I said, I'm on a sugar cleanse right now,
and I came home and saw more of that stuff
in my fridge and I'm thinking, like, dude, this is
gonna be so hard.

Speaker 2 (27:31):
Like I did have like a I did have a
protein bar.

Speaker 4 (27:34):
It's surely and might have a little bit of sugar
in it, but I'm really just trying to like stay
off of it at least for a week and see,
like if it makes me. I don't know, I have
never I'm such a sugar freak. I want to see
what it does, like because people say, like, oh, if
you don't consume sugar, it like makes helps you more
mentally and it's physically obviously, So I kind of just
want to see, like if I really take down my

(27:54):
intake of sugar, I want to see what happens.

Speaker 5 (27:56):
Okay, I think that you're probably gonna see. I think
you're probably gonna see a bigger result when you take
in sugar for the first time again after being off
of it for oh.

Speaker 4 (28:06):
I think, yeah, it's because it's gonna it's a slow process,
so I'm not gonna slowly be like, oh yeah, I
feel just the same. And then you know, maybe I
have one really bad day of just like consuming a
bunch of sugar for whatever reason, because maybe I'm like, oh,
the week's off, I'm good, and then I haven't, and
I start feeling.

Speaker 5 (28:23):
We are so addicted to sugar. So I didn't realize
how bad American sugar was until I lived in Japan
and I found a donut shop and they had this
beautiful case full of all these donuts and there was
like a it looked like a Boston cream donut, like
with a chocolate on the top, like a nice, thick budget.
I was so excited and I bid into it and
it had zero sugar in it. But I heard for

(28:44):
Japan that was an awful lot of sugar. But for
an American, it was like that's crazy. It was like
biting into nothing.

Speaker 2 (28:51):
Crazy.

Speaker 4 (28:51):
I've done a sugar I've done a ton of research
on it too, and it was like it was saying
all the things that sugar can cause, and like how
much how much the average American should a day, And
I'm just like, dude, I consume a lot more than that.
So that's and then that after being home. You know,
my mom loves baking, and she just made a lot
of sweets and she sent me home with some much
which I'll eat because you know it won't go bad.

(29:12):
And I just thought, like, Okay, this upcoming week we
have games, I'll be busy.

Speaker 2 (29:17):
I won't be well.

Speaker 4 (29:17):
Now the next couple days we're going to be home
for New Year's so like, that's gonna be hard to
not snack at home. But told myself, all right, at
least a week, let's not consume as much sugar as
I usually do. Like I probably had like a tiny
bit today, maybe a tiny bit yesterday.

Speaker 5 (29:29):
What did you have?

Speaker 4 (29:30):
I had like a protein bar, not protein, but like
a granola bar. Oh okay, those have low sugar, right,
It depends on the protein bar.

Speaker 5 (29:37):
There's just.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
Unless I needed a snack earlier.

Speaker 5 (29:42):
All right, I'm not judging. I am just telling you.

Speaker 4 (29:45):
And then the other day I had breakfast here for
our team breakfast and had the syrup that came with
the pancakes. But considering that it's our athletic uh An
Effect trainer Strengthened Performance coach Parker poor that makes the meals.
I'm assuming it was healthy syrups, so I don't feel
as guilty for that one.

Speaker 5 (30:03):
There is there such a thing as a healthy syrup?
Is that a thing?

Speaker 3 (30:05):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (30:06):
Mates, I feel like he would have made it a
very Canadian syrup. Considering many Canadians we have on this team.
We have one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen,
thirteen Canadians.

Speaker 4 (30:17):
That's crazy, that's a good amount. We got a couple
more guys coming in. We got Hunter Drew and Curtis
Douglas getting into the building.

Speaker 5 (30:23):
Douglas with the shades, What's what's going on with the shades? Like,
I don't know? Pretty?

Speaker 2 (30:28):
Is it not sunny out today?

Speaker 5 (30:29):
I mean it's sunny, but it's not sunny.

Speaker 3 (30:30):
You know.

Speaker 5 (30:31):
The second you passed the threshold to come into this building,
it's there's nothing. It is so dark in here.

Speaker 2 (30:35):
That's not bad at all.

Speaker 5 (30:36):
Maybe maybe they're just they're too cool for school. That's it.
They're just way too cool. I mean, I'm not that way.

Speaker 4 (30:42):
I would walk in with shades. I mean that'd be
kind of that'd be kind of cool with feeling yourself.
I mean, living sold it for me, like he looked
he really shades were so dark, like they were a
little dark.

Speaker 5 (30:52):
Curtis were were his kind of on the tip of
his nose, like he's looking over the top of them
because he knows.

Speaker 2 (30:57):
I'm really loving him. When guys walk in, they're just
looking at us, like, are they about to grab us?

Speaker 5 (31:01):
For if you We're just like, hey, guys.

Speaker 3 (31:03):
What's it go?

Speaker 5 (31:04):
We shouldn't give We should say you're welcome when they
walk by us. You're welcome for not pulling you into
this insanity.

Speaker 4 (31:09):
No, we're having a great time, well, Kim. At this point,
Tucson's been playing really good hockey right now. Of course,
we'll see what happens this weekend, but man, it's been fun.
It's been a lot of fun lately. And you know,
win or lose, we love this sport at the end
of the day. But you just feel like this team
is really just starting to buzz right now. You know,
you're really starting to feel themselves in this division that's

(31:32):
ever so close. And it's another tough matchup with the Eagles,
and then we have a really long road.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
Trip coming up. If you're listening on this Tuesday, evening.

Speaker 4 (31:41):
Coming up this weekend, two games in Texas and then
and then going on the road to Coach Out Valley
to in San Diego and then two in Calgary. So
these are the last two games of this homestand or
two game homestand of the twenty twenty four year, and
then we're on the road for a long time.

Speaker 5 (31:56):
It'll be interesting to see what happens this weekend. Colorado's
just behind us, behind Coachella in the standings, so it's
as Coachella, Colorado Cochell standings.

Speaker 4 (32:04):
And of course on Taro had to get a point
when they're shootout lost sick.

Speaker 5 (32:08):
Yeah, yeah, that's okay. I think I think we're such
a good place, but our record is very is very
even with Texas. So it'll be interesting to see how
we do this weekend. And it'll be interesting. I don't
even know who the Texas is playing this weekend, but
it'll be interesting to see where they end up at
the end of this also, and I think I think

(32:28):
Texas is going to be a real I think it's
going to be a real test. Again, it's on the
road and then after this weekend, so after this last weekend,
we don't see the boys for almost a month. They
don't get to play at home for almost a month.

Speaker 2 (32:42):
Yeah, you won't be seeing me at all. Be I'll
be all with them on all of those trips.

Speaker 5 (32:46):
Yes, But more importantly, we won't be seeing the boys.

Speaker 2 (32:50):
Yet.

Speaker 5 (32:53):
It's not about you.

Speaker 9 (32:54):
This is what.

Speaker 5 (32:56):
Will be no hockey in this town other than I
don't even know if the Junior road were not will
even be in here, or Men's League. Somebody from men'sleig
let me look around. There's nobody from men.

Speaker 4 (33:04):
Well, there was a Junior road Runners practice earlier here, Yes,
tonight there's always men got into the building and I'm like,
not frantically texting you by text you like there's so
many kids in our area, Like what do we do?
And then uh, you know, had to uh get into
our spot and then they ended up leaving.

Speaker 2 (33:21):
All right.

Speaker 4 (33:22):
Austin Baganski is now into the building, your captain of
the Tucson Roadrunners in this walking special for next guest, Austin,
how's it going man, Welcome to the show.

Speaker 3 (33:33):
Yeah, thanks thanks for having me so.

Speaker 4 (33:35):
First year as a captain full time. I mean we're
almost halfway to the season now. Last time we talked
about it was kind of when you first got announced.
So how's that role been going. Have you picked up
on anything that you've worked on, maybe, you know, being
a captain, being more of a leader of this team,
and has there there's been things as being a veteran
where you're like, yeah, I'm used to you know this
happening in this moment.

Speaker 11 (33:55):
Yeah, No, it's it's been a good, good first third
of the season so far. Are as the captain of
the Roadrunners here? I think the beauty of it being
the captain here is we have so many, so many
veterans and guys have been around for quite a while
that can I'll jump in and help with that leadership process.
But it doesn't just take one person. It takes the
whole committee. And I think here with the road Runners,

(34:17):
we got that.

Speaker 4 (34:18):
Yeah, I'm currently six game win streak up to this
point right now, and it's felt like it's been an
entire committee. Everyone's contributing to the scoring, goaltending has been great,
but also we've just been playing great defense as a
whole as well and got the six game win streak
going into the Christmas break. But how do we kind
of feel like maybe starting a new streak now now
that we've had a couple of days off.

Speaker 11 (34:36):
Yeah, No, I think from the start of the season
until now, I think we've we've grown a lot as
a team. I think we had not the best success
early in the season, but I think we learned from
our mistakes. We learned different things that we can improve on,
and I think it's starting to show here with the
last six game win streak there. And and like you said,
we're not satisfied. We're never going to be satisfied. We're

(34:57):
looking to get beat every game. And whether that's streak
starts fresh here or we continue that streak, it doesn't
matter as long as we're getting better every day.

Speaker 5 (35:05):
Do you guys go through media training where they tell you, Okay,
no matter what you get asked, I need you to say,
we're just trying to get the pucks in deep right now,
and we're just playing for the boys right now, and
it's all about the guy next year. Do you go
through media training for that? Do you practice that before
you come talk to us? I need to know No.

Speaker 11 (35:21):
That is a pretty common answer. I think it's a
pretty safe answer. So a lot of guys have that
in the back of their head. But yeah, I think
just about any team in general, new player in general.
I think they've heard that before and it's just something
easy to say, and it's usually true to whatever you're
looking for.

Speaker 5 (35:37):
What's your favorite thing about playing hockey and you can't
see the boys?

Speaker 11 (35:42):
My favorite thing about playing hockey Growing up in Minnesota,
I was able to play on outside rinks all the time.

Speaker 3 (35:48):
It's called like the odr though.

Speaker 11 (35:49):
Yeah, so I think just growing up in kind of
like a hockey atmosphere in Minnesota, and obviously Canadians can
attest to that. But there's nothing better than being out
there freezing near bought off with hot cocon in the
snow bank and in this ripping fox. But no, it's
it's fun.

Speaker 9 (36:04):
It's just it is.

Speaker 11 (36:05):
It is kind of all about the boys. Like when
you hear about guys retiring, the thing that they missed
the most is just the commodity with the guys. Yeah,
so I think you really take that for granted, but
it really is.

Speaker 9 (36:14):
It is special.

Speaker 5 (36:15):
What did you get for the holidays this year that
you were just like super stoked about anything? One thing?

Speaker 11 (36:22):
Yeah, I'm getting to that age where I don't really
get a lot of gifts anymore. Yeah, it's more just
being with family. And I got to see my niece
who's two and a half, and I got her little
trampoline and she was jumping on that thing like a
jelly bean for hours an hour. So it's just really
cool to see the best uncle now, Yeah, favorite one
for sure. You know, it's it's more about that at
this time in my life. Just being back, being able

(36:44):
to go hot home in Minnesota for a couple of
days was was awesome. It's a good reset to see
families for my knees, see friends, and and it makes
us coming back here even more special.

Speaker 5 (36:52):
Wait, and we've never talked about your sibling situation. How
many siblings do you have and where are you in
the birth order?

Speaker 11 (36:58):
I just got one older sister, she's four year older
than me. She's got one kid and one kid that's
gonna come out here any any day.

Speaker 3 (37:04):
So pretty excited about that.

Speaker 9 (37:06):
Yeah. No, but just one sister.

Speaker 5 (37:10):
Is it a boy or girl? Do you know?

Speaker 3 (37:12):
They don't know?

Speaker 11 (37:12):
Which is crazy to me. It's I feel like my
wife's also pregnant too, so we got one coming.

Speaker 9 (37:17):
We got a girl?

Speaker 11 (37:20):
Yeah, no, thanks, But my sister is this is their
second kid and they haven't found out, which which I
think is just crazy.

Speaker 2 (37:26):
But they're waiting.

Speaker 5 (37:28):
Wow, what do you what does she do?

Speaker 3 (37:30):
You know?

Speaker 5 (37:30):
Like, did you ask her? What are you hoping that
it is?

Speaker 11 (37:33):
She she tries to guess. I think she guessed last
time and it wasn't right. So I think she thinks
it's she has a girl right now, like I said,
my niece. But I think she says it's going to
be another girl. But I guess we won't know until
it comes out.

Speaker 5 (37:45):
Yeah, do you'll have to let us know circle back.
I'm so so curious about what it's going to be too. Yeah.
So it's awesome that you've got a chance to go
home and and spend time with your parents too, write
and ye. Yeah. And so your situation in Minnesota, was
it like an ODR that you're dad or your mom
like built in the backyard kind of thing, or was
it somewhere that like all the neighborhood kids are going.

Speaker 11 (38:06):
To Yeah, the beauty boat Minnesota is there are so
many ODRs you can call your buddies and then you
got four or five different options you can go. But
my parents, we grew up in a small little neighborhood,
and my neighbor across the rink or across the street
was actually like the head of the youth hockey of
Saint Cloud where I grew up, and he always had
a rink in his backyard, so that's where I really started.

(38:27):
And then my uncle, like a two minute drive away,
also had a really nice rink across from him too, So,
like I said, there's so many options. It's such a
special place to grow up, especially if you like hockey.

Speaker 5 (38:38):
Yeah, that's awesome.

Speaker 4 (38:39):
Any fun family traditions that you guys do during Christmas?
Any fun games, any white elephants? What's it called Secret Santa?

Speaker 1 (38:46):
Is?

Speaker 2 (38:46):
Anything like that?

Speaker 5 (38:47):
Yeah?

Speaker 11 (38:47):
No, nothing crazy like that. We used to do in
exchange with all my relatives. I have like thirteen other
cousins on on my dad's side, so we used to
pull names at Thanksgiving and then yeah, do a little
secret exchange. But now everyone's older and has family, so
it's a little bit trickier. But just like I said,
just getting back home and seeing family. We usually spend
one day with my dad's side, they're all like in

(39:07):
San Cloud in Minnesota there, and then my my mom's
sides all in the Twin Cities, which is like an
hour away, so we do that the next night, and
then I go to my wife's side of the family
in North St. Paul, which is in the Cities too,
So it's kind of lucky that we're both from Minnesota too,
so we're able to see both for family. So it's
that's what it's all about during the holidays, seeing family friends.
That's that's my my gift.

Speaker 4 (39:26):
Especially in the short amount of days that we get right,
you feel like you're running around because you want to
see everybody, of course, and then by the time it's
all done, you're like, well, I have to get back
to back to work.

Speaker 11 (39:36):
You know, for sure, we don't get a lot of
days here in the American ocy. You're getting about three
days this year. But it's uh, it goes by super fast,
but it's super special for those that are able to
make it home.

Speaker 5 (39:46):
I just have two more, yeah, two most super unhinged questions. You, Yeah,
take a breath, it's gonna be it's gonna be over
five minutes. I always just think about the other side
of something I don't want to do. Which Disney prince
do you you think matches.

Speaker 3 (40:00):
Your vibe Disney prince.

Speaker 5 (40:03):
And then I asked this question to Donor, and I
want you to tell me what you think Donor said,
because this is so perfect.

Speaker 11 (40:11):
I honestly, I'm not a big Disney guy. I honestly
don't even know. If you gave me a couple of options,
I may be able to pick. But like Aladdin, is
that a Disney prince?

Speaker 2 (40:19):
Yeah, that's the prince.

Speaker 11 (40:20):
Yeah, that's probably the only prince I know.

Speaker 5 (40:22):
What about like Beast from Beauty and the Beast, or
like Prince Charming from Sleeping Beauty, Prince Eric from Little Mermaid.
I could do this.

Speaker 2 (40:31):
I don't think I know Prince is either that much.
I don't know any of these names.

Speaker 11 (40:34):
Prince Prince Charming could could go for Donor pretty easily,
do you think so?

Speaker 4 (40:38):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (40:39):
With his hair like Sunshine doesn't.

Speaker 5 (40:41):
Have a good hair hair.

Speaker 2 (40:41):
Yeah, I don't remember what Doane said?

Speaker 5 (40:43):
You don't remember, I don't remember. But wait, what's your
answer first?

Speaker 11 (40:46):
I mean, I'm just gonna go with Aladdin just because.

Speaker 5 (40:51):
Okay, have you seen Frozen? Not really really? Yes? So
his was the the main good guy who's not really
a prince. But what was his name?

Speaker 2 (41:03):
Christoph Christo.

Speaker 5 (41:05):
So watch Frozen because that that's like one hundred that's him. Yeah. Okay,
So then this is my other unchined thing and it's
not a question, but it's something I need you to
do and I just thought of this. I want you
to give me your best as if you were the
PA announcer for the Tucson Roadrunners. Welcome to the ice
your Tucson Roadrunners on the spot.

Speaker 3 (41:27):
Welcome to the ice for your Tucson Roadrunners.

Speaker 2 (41:30):
That's good, that's good.

Speaker 5 (41:31):
Yeah, you feel confident with that?

Speaker 3 (41:33):
Not really, that's all I got.

Speaker 2 (41:37):
Well, Austin, thanks so much for stopping by. We'll let
you go and good luck tonight.

Speaker 5 (41:40):
Man.

Speaker 2 (41:41):
Thanks guys, appreciate it. Last guest is Dylan Wells. Dylan,
how's it going man?

Speaker 3 (41:45):
Good? Good, Excited to get back from the holidays here
and get back play at home in Tucson.

Speaker 4 (41:51):
Yeah, we just had you on the show not that
long ago at the holiday party. But great game in Abbotsford.
You hadn't started in quite some time, but really good
game for you. And just what was that whole experience
like just you know, not playing much but then getting
into the crease for that two pm start and then
earning us to win.

Speaker 3 (42:08):
Yeah, no, it was good. Obviously, you want to play
as much as you can, so it's tough when you
go through some stretches where you don't play as much.
But I think just working on the on the basics,
honestly with Hilly here and just hammering away at that
allowed me to be ready for the start when it came.
And you know, happy that we got the result, but
it was nice to get back in there.

Speaker 5 (42:26):
Were you able to go home for Christmas?

Speaker 4 (42:28):
I did?

Speaker 3 (42:29):
Yeah, I took a red eye flight home after the
game in Abbotsford on Saturday and then spent a few
days at home and yeah, now we're back here. Came
back on the twenty six.

Speaker 5 (42:38):
So are you a little jet lag still or are
you good to go?

Speaker 3 (42:40):
Good to go now? Yesterday I bit Yeah, yesterday was
a long day.

Speaker 5 (42:45):
That's awesome. Did you get anything? It's hard. We've talked
about this. It's hard at this age. You know, anytime
you're older than ten years old, maybe Christmas isn't you
know what it once was. But did you get anything
for Christmas? You were just like, yes, this is the
thing that I wanted.

Speaker 3 (42:58):
My parents got me a pizza, so yeah, Like that's
a good one of the like what I've been pizza.

Speaker 2 (43:04):
Yeah, that's a good gift.

Speaker 1 (43:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (43:06):
We actually, my girlfriend and I got one for her
mom for a birthday in the summer. We leave it
up at the cottage, so we were using it a
lot this summer, and then I guess my mom realized
how much I liked it. So now I have my
own and got me and ice cream makers all those
ninja creamy things, so I have a little pizza ice cream. Wow,
going on, really good, Chris, it was a great Christmas.

Speaker 5 (43:26):
Wait, what's your favorite ice cream flavor?

Speaker 3 (43:29):
I like doing a little vanilla. And you had some
peanut butter cups in there, and yeah, it's kind of
like a Reese's peanut butter cup blizzard from dairy cream.
It's kind of Yeah, make my own now, so it
might be a little bit healthier. Have a couple more
times more often.

Speaker 4 (43:41):
Maybe you should break them in next I might have
by are going to start bothering you for pizza and
ice cream.

Speaker 3 (43:47):
Well, I didn't have room in my carry on, so
it's got to wait till the summer. But fair enough,
I'm sure they might break it open before I get there,
but it might be just a gift for them mass
as a gift for me.

Speaker 2 (43:56):
Yeah, it's gotta be tough for some guys. You get
all these gifts and now you have to take them home.

Speaker 1 (44:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (44:00):
I don't think everyone gets to do that.

Speaker 3 (44:02):
Yeah, you end up leaving a lot of stuff at
home and then getting it when you get back.

Speaker 5 (44:05):
But but then you'll have plans like I imagine that
you're like thinking about all the pieces and the ice cream.

Speaker 3 (44:10):
Yeah. No, it's gonna be good. It's gonna be a
good summer.

Speaker 5 (44:14):
That's awesome. Okay, So I need you, especially you. We
didn't talk about this last time we talked about you,
but when I talked to you before, you feel I
feel like you would know who the Disney princes are,
like a prince, not the princess is a prince. If
you were a Disney prince, which one do you think
that you would be?

Speaker 3 (44:33):
Honestly, don't know who they are?

Speaker 2 (44:34):
See, no one knows who they are.

Speaker 3 (44:36):
No one knows who they are. You're lying, I'm not God.

Speaker 5 (44:39):
I'm thinking you never saw Tangled or even beating the Beast.

Speaker 3 (44:44):
I've never seen them. Okay, but I need to talk
to Meg yeahs a big Disney fan.

Speaker 5 (44:49):
I can't believe she doesn't made.

Speaker 4 (44:50):
You have a Disney account on my name, So I'm
sure you just gonta see what she's follow up to
interview the girlfriends.

Speaker 2 (44:56):
I think that would be cool.

Speaker 3 (44:58):
Yeah, I think she'd have more answers for that, man, definitely.

Speaker 5 (45:01):
Okay, so wait real quick, last thing before you go.
Pretend you're a PA announcer and give me your best please.
Welcome to the ice, your son Roadrunners.

Speaker 3 (45:09):
Oh I'm not I don't have the voice for it.

Speaker 5 (45:11):
Let me let me hear. Let me just just give
me a little Somethence.

Speaker 2 (45:13):
We're not gonna let you leave until you do, or
she won't.

Speaker 3 (45:15):
At least, what do I have to say?

Speaker 5 (45:17):
Welcome to the ice, Welcome you to Roadrunners.

Speaker 3 (45:20):
Welcome to the ice, your two son Roaders.

Speaker 2 (45:23):
No, if you wouldn't give it like.

Speaker 3 (45:26):
That's why I'm not announced, I can't. That's as good
as I guess.

Speaker 4 (45:31):
Okay, all right, all right, don't we'll let you get
out of here. Thanks for stopping by, and good luck
the rest of the way.

Speaker 9 (45:36):
Man.

Speaker 2 (45:36):
We appreciate it, Thank you, Thanks for having me perfect.

Speaker 3 (45:38):
