Speaker 1 (00:00):
What's up, everybody. This is Sea Bass here, back from
a crazy concert and a crazy week in general. Yes,
it's been a crazy week and I am very tired,
but I have a lot to talk about what I've
been doing and a lot of crazy things that are
gonna be coming in the near future. It's there's a
lot going on here, So I'm just gonna talk about
(00:22):
it and hopefully all of you that's listening can go
to it. First off, before I go into the concert
that I went to and all the other things I
like to mention. May sixth is Nurses Week up in Chillicothe.
It's a cool event. It's free. It's at the Postmark
in Chillicothe five to eight, and you know, bring anybody
(00:46):
that you know that our nurses or anybody that's in
the medical field. It's again, it's for everybody, but it's
really something to support our great, the great nurses in
the hospitals that help keep people alive. So shout out
to all the nurses out there in the world. Thank
you for saying motivated to help others and to keep
(01:08):
us alive. Now for the crazy week that i'd been having,
I first went out to Columbus to go see Jeff
Taate his band Operation Mind Crime. That's what he's calling
it now. I'm just gonna call it Jeff Tates queens
Reich because that's what I've always known it as, but
(01:28):
that doesn't really matter. It was at this cool theater.
It looks like one of those opera type theaters. It's
a really cool place, and it's one of they're very
rare to find these days. I remember going to this
theater like O Cheeze, like seven years ago. I think
I saw a winger and firehouse there. I didn't realize
(01:51):
how big this place really was because there's one point
where it has like this big, huge theater. That's where
I saw a winger and firehouse, but apparently leaders and
upstairs where there's a smaller theater, that's where Jeff Tate
was playing. I didn't realize how small it was gonna be.
But I mean it was a pack house. It probably
fit around maybe a thousand people. Maybe I could be
(02:16):
wrong on that, you know, don't quote me. I'm not
good with numbers. But it was a it was a
good show. I mean, Jeff could still sing pretty well.
I think there was moments where he was struggling just
a tiny bit, but honestly, it was hard to tell.
I'm really impressed with him. He was He was just
wailing and you know, screaming the songs, and he played
the entire album Operation Mine Crime and it was amazing.
(02:39):
They you know, they played all the tracks in order,
and I was like, this is this is amazing. And
his band, holy cow, what a band they're They're an
entire national act. One guy's from Italy, one guy's from France,
and then there's one guy that's from Seattle. That's his drummer.
They also had this girl playing on the keyboard who
(03:01):
actually was part of the opening act called Thomas McCarthy
and his band Fire and Water, which was an Irish band.
These guys were interesting. When they opened, I wasn't I
didn't know what to expect. The guy that was singing
sounded like George storm Good. I don't know if he's
gotten that or not, but that's what he kind of
(03:22):
reminded me of. But what was cool about these guys
is they were like a country Irish rock band, and
every time they played their songs it felt like I
was walking in the Old West on a horse or
you know, maybe climbing on the mountains in Ireland or something.
(03:43):
It was interesting. His wife, who was the keyboard of
Jeff Tate's band, is a saxophone player and she has
a beautiful voice, and she started singing this song in
the Irish language. It was very beautiful, and I got say,
these guys have potential, and Jeff apparently motivated this band
(04:05):
to like stay together because I guess they were going
to break up when COVID hit because the record company
kind of screwed them over and there was nothing much
they can do. But Jeff kind of just gave him
a little pet talk and had them tour with him
when he was in when he was in Ireland and
Europe and all that. So these guys have been with
them for quite a while. So I think you guys
(04:27):
should definitely check this span out. They are really good.
They have a lot of potential, and I definitely hope
they can make it big because they they are really
good and I support them, So if I see him again,
I'll definitely like to talk to them because they're really
really cool. But with all that, Jeff, like I said,
was phenomenal and he played the entire operation mind Crime album,
(04:51):
and then after that he started playing other hits like Silu, Lucidity, Empire,
which was awesome. I was hoping you would play that that.
That was really good. Like the entire crowd was just
into it. We were just, you know, raising our fists
saying Empire. Yeah. Also, apparently my friend who was with me,
I didn't realize what was going on, but he gotten
(05:13):
knocked down by a trunk guy behind me. I didn't
even notice. He literally told me at the end of
the shows, like, did you not realize I got knocked
down by a drunk guy? I was like, no, I
was too busy being hypnotized by the band. Poor guy.
But but all in all, it was a fun show.
I managed to catch a pick like that. I mean
(05:33):
I didn't really catch it, like it flew. I saw
it and it hit my friend and he was like,
what was that and then I kind of grabbed it
for somebody else did and I said, I got it.
So yeah, that was pretty fun. Now there are some
other things I like to talk about, and I'll probably
talk about that next week, but for now, I like
to mention some of the future concerts that are happening
(05:56):
and that you could still actually go. So first off
May A through the eleventh is Sonic Temple at Columbus,
really big music festival. Has so many bands, corn Alice Cooper,
Rob Zombie, bad Omens Testament, Armored Saint, They'll all be there.
(06:19):
It's a huge festival. It's four days and I will
be there with my friend and my sister. So that's
definitely a place you want to check out. There's a
lot of cool things there other than the bands, Like
there's cool shops there. Last year they had like this
Pantera shop showing off diamondbag daryls, like guitars and stuff
(06:39):
and get to buy like some Pantera albums and some
Pantera books like the History of the band, along with
some record record stores there. I remember buying a Ghosts
album there and people were like, dude, I dig your album.
I was like, yeah, everybody was loving the Ghosts album.
I also up in my nineteen eighties glam outfit because
(07:04):
I love, you know, the nineteen eighties glam stuff. People
kept coming up to me saying, I love your pants,
you know, because there were zebra pants that were really soft.
They were cool. It's a cool place. People even dress
up as Spider Man like I saw five Spider Man's
last year, and I just like, huh, okay, that that's cool.
(07:24):
I thought it was funny that I'm seeing Spider Man
headbanging to Judas priest to break in the law. He
was like breaking the law, breaking the law, and I
was like, huh, even Spider Man approved breaking the law.
Look at that. That's definitely a festival you need to
go to. They're selling out fast, like ninety seven percent
of the passes have been sold. I mean there's still
some left, so you still got a chance to get some.
(07:47):
And then of course May twenty eighth is a CDC.
They're gonna be up in Cleveland, and I will be there.
It's gonna be a great show. I've never seen ACDC
before and this was I don't know how long they have,
so I disfigured, Hey, I better get some tickets. Why
I still can, so definitely look forward to seeing that.
(08:07):
I think I don't think they're touring very much in
the USA right now, so I think this is like
one of the few places they're touring in the US.
So gosh, do I feel lucky to be close to Cleveland.
So to anybody that's near Cleveland or even far away
that listen to this. You still got a chance to
go to Cleveland to see ACDC. May twenty first, we
(08:30):
have Billy Idol and Joan Jet at River Bend Music Center.
It's in Cincinnati. I will not be going to this,
but I figure I should bring it up because I
love Billy Idol and I love Jon Jet. I've seen
Joan Jet once. She is amazing. I've never seen Billy though,
and I heard he's really cool. So there's that concert
to anybody. Riberben's a pretty cool place. The venue is
(08:55):
it's it's pretty big. I mean it's not huge, but
it's big enough. I've seen Motley Crue there, Alice Cooper,
seen def Leopard there and sticks. It's a really cool place. Okay,
moving on now, I want to talk about this man
Wednesday thirteen. He has a new song out and he
collaborated with the lead singer of Faster Pussycat, Tamy Down.
(09:20):
I knew this was coming, I just didn't know when.
Due to some unfortunate events. I don't want to really
get into that because it's a very sad situation, but
I'm glad that Tamy is able to do this. I
think it's great that he's still doing what he likes
to do. So I like to review the music video
and the song itself. So first off, the song is awesome,
(09:45):
super good. The guitar is amazing. I love the solo.
His guitar is is really good. The band is super
solid to great, great song. It's called No Apologies. I
remember him talking about this in an interview, saying he
was going to collabor right with Tamy and wanted him
to be part of this. The music video is really
(10:05):
good too. There's like a background. It looks like a
comic book strip or something, maybe a newspaper strip. I
can't really tell, but I love the background. It really
goes with the look of the band and Tamy. You know,
he's in the video kind of just you know, posing,
kind of just like with his orange crossed like, oh yeah,
that's right. However, the only thing I didn't really like
(10:31):
about this song, now again, this is a minor thing,
nothing against Wednesday or Tamy for that reason. It's just
that Tamy didn't really say much in the song. He
only said like a few words in the song, like
I'm I'm not fully sure what he fully said. I
gotta go back and like read, listen to it closer.
(10:51):
But I think he said, now I don't understand why
you're so pathetic. I think that's what he said. I
can't really tell well, but again, he sounded great and
it was cool just to hear that, but I was
expecting him to say more than that. He also said
the lyrics from the course, I know when Wednesday would
(11:13):
go like, I don't want to know apologies. Yeah, he'll
say that part too, But other than that, he didn't
really say much. I don't know. I was really expecting
a little bit more there. But again, it's a great song.
Tami does do a good job, and he's a very
underrated singer, and again I'm glad he's still doing what
(11:33):
he loves doing. I've always wanted to see the band
Faster pussy Cat, and maybe hopefully one day I will.
I like to see Wednesday thirteen as well. He was
actually up in Columbus, down at the Keys of Clubs
when I went to go see Michael Monroe. However, I
had other things to do, like dating dragons baseball, and
(11:55):
I didn't really have enough money in general to do
other things. So yeah, that was my missopportunity there. But
he's a very talented guy and hopefully he'll come back
around here and I can see him, because I would
like to see Wednesday because he seems like a very
cool guy and like a very and he has a
lot of good songs, so huge fan and I hope
(12:18):
hopefully you get to see him. But that being said,
I do have more to say next week. It's a
lot to get into and I hope you all enjoyed
your guys this week as well. If there's any other
songs or bands you want me to check out, please
leave a comic down below in my Facebook page Rocking
with Sea Bass and also Sebastian McCrae and I will
(12:42):
I'll listen and then I'll give my opinion anyway. To
all the rockers out there, thank you for listening, and
take care and keep on rocking.
