Speaker 1 (00:00):
This train, the crazy train is the late Ozzy Osbourne
might phrase it.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Zach Seegers on the other side of the glass. I
always appreciate the z man. Zach, how are you hanging
in there today? Over there?
Speaker 1 (00:11):
Your schedule keeps kind of jumping around here. I notice,
hey Man part of the gig.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
And as long as I keep some getting some slots
over on Broncos Country tonight, a shameless plug. You know, everyone,
I'll be happy to jump around to throw me in
the morning, throw me at eleven PM and night.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
I'll do whatever.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
Young people out there, I want to get into this business,
I strongly suggest you follow Zach s Lee. That's how
it's done, That's how I was at that age. It's like,
give me the opportunity, let me show you what I
can do. And that's what z Man's doing. We're so
appreciative of him and all that he does for this program,
including helping me behind the scenes a lot. I wanted
to ask you, though, Zach, now that you kind of
(00:50):
brought it up. You had a prime spot, as I
recall during one of the preseason games, the coverage of
the Denver Broncos on Koe Benjamin Olbride, Is that correct?
Speaker 3 (01:00):
Yeah, And I'll be back on KOWA this Saturday for
pregame starting at eight am. We've got you covered on
KOA from eight am to six pm, so all the
preseason coverage you can stand. Yeah, every preseason game so
far this season, I've gotten to do an hour and
(01:20):
a half of pregame with Benjamin Albright walking through the
Broncos roster how that stands. And I keep finding a
ton of good little nuggets because obviously, you know, a
win loss doesn't matter a ton in this point in
the season, so we can't talk about that element of
the preview. So I've got to find other fun statistical
nuggets and whatnot. And that's been a good time.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
I'm so excited for you, Zach, that you're getting that opportunity, absolutely,
and you're not going to get any more Broncos coverage anywhere.
Then you get over on KOA, your heartbeat for the
Denver Broncos. Of course, the flagship throughout the great state
of Colorado for Denver Broncos broadcast.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
For many a year.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
Dave Logan, the legendary play by playman, there tremendous voice
of the Broncos and the newest member of the team,
right there, Zach Segers look forward to hearing him on
Saturday as we get into that regular season five seven, seven,
three nine, Ryan, what is wrong.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
With people with three names or hyphenated names?
Speaker 2 (02:15):
You know?
Speaker 1 (02:15):
It just kind of it tends to follow a trend.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Nothing is universal or one hundred percent, but there's just
a certain kind of type usually and they become that
an archetype or stereotype for a reason. And she fit
the bill the big thick grim glasses. It's like the
thicker the rims in the glass is generally the more
leftist you are.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
I know that sounds hilarious, but it's true. It checks out.
Do your own homework, in your own research.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
I would advise that gets a lot more texts here
during this segment as well.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
Ryan, here we go. This is case in point.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
A leftist who suffers from Trump arrangement syndrome, the wolk
mind virus listening to the show. So it to you
Texter out there, and I appreciate it. And what we
try to do here is just present you with a
menu of options that you're probably not hearing in the
mainstream media that you subscribe to, that you watch. So
(03:12):
I appreciate that. I want to be upfront, but here
goes Ryan. Don't talk about how ninety percent of Republicans
believe America is a great country.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
They voted for the guy who called it a garbage
can and much worse.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
His whole campaign theme for ten years has been that
America sucks already, but he is going to make it
great again. Well, typical, you're caricaturing Trump and distorting something
that he said, because in context, what he was referring
to is what America became after four years of Trump.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
We were soaring Hoime talking pre COVID.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
The economy was humming, jobs, opportunities, wages rising, price is falling,
affordability rising, all of these things coming together, and then
COVID hit.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
Nay me for our listening audience.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
Texter, if you would, the greatest accomplishment of the Biden
administration in four years was it opening the border so
wide that over ten million illegal.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
Aliens crossed it. And we're now.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
Having to clean up that mess that even many on
the left or acknowledging happened on Biden's watch, with Alejandro
Mayorcis looking the other way, looking to fill the bill
on the census in various states like California, so that
they could load up congressional seats based on population and
(04:32):
electoral votes based on that same population, whether or not
they were citizens of the United States. That's what it
stands out to me was the absolute border disaster under Biden.
The other thing would be the absolute disaster that was
their withdrawal from Afghanistan. The aftermath, what happened, What that predicated,
(04:55):
That was a signal to the world that we were weak,
that Joe Biden was feckless, that he was old, that
he was senile, that he didn't know what the hell
he was doing.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
That if it were just a minor.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
Incursion, Vladimir Putin heed look the other way, and that
would be all good. Just not a major incursion. Will
it be a minor incursion? How about rolling out the
red carpet. That's what Joe Biden did for Vladimir Putin
to invade Ukraine. Not good enough for you again, go
right back to the drawing board. Let me know how
life was good under the Biden administration. Did life get
(05:28):
better here in Colorado? Has life gotten better here in
Colorado under exclusive Democrat rule over the last ten years?
Or so special session at the General Assembly. We are
very well aware of that and plugged in for you.
I have reached out to Representative ty Winter, he's the
assistant Minority leader in the House, and he feels he'll
(05:50):
be able to duck out and join Christy Burton Brown
to start Dan Kaplis's program KBB filling in today and
give us an.
Speaker 1 (05:57):
Update on exactly what's going on.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
What I did notice as well on X over the break,
and that's why you're tuned in. I'm keeping track of
what's going on in real time so you don't have to,
but you can follow up.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
I know you're working, you're driving, you're doing all these
other things. You're picking up kids from school. School's already
back in session. That is nuts. That is crazy to me.
TABOR is trending on X.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
Right now, and that probably signifies that the first thing
that Democrats are going to do in the majority, both
in the House and the Senate, and probably Jared Polis
is looking for ways to spend your tax dial of
dollars so you don't get as much in a refund
through TABOR, the fees, the charges, the end a rounds TABOR.
They can't raise your taxes are going to find other
(06:41):
ways to do it, all contributing along with the vote
mind virus, the Trump arrangements send room from that Texter
that I just mentioned to the following, and this is
from my young friend David Procter, one of the great
young conservative minds out there in Colorado Republican politics in
my view, but he posted this yesterday. This is from
the New York Times, So don't blame it on some
(07:02):
kind of conservative outposts like Daily Wire. This is the
New York Times, and it's showing all of these states,
including California, New York, big drop in Florida, significant drop
here in Colorado, Pennsylvania. These are important electoral states North Carolina.
What is it the change in share of registered voters
(07:25):
who identify as Democrats from twenty twenty to twenty twenty four,
and it's shocking to me that that number has plummeted.
Here in Colorado, there were all these downward facing blue arrows.
And what have we seen over these last several days.
We've seen Gavin Newsom's Comms team, Communications Team Comms for
shorten this business, trying to crank out the hits in
(07:50):
posts on X that were mimicking Donald Trump, making fun
of Donald Trump, making fun of Greg Guttfeld, Dana Perino,
prominent voices on the right on Fox News. But the thing,
it's so cringey. You can't out Trump Trump, you can't get.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
In the mud.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
And as his attractors would say, the pig pen, the
pig sty where Donald Trump resides and try to out
wrestle them there. That's not effective. You're going to look
like a total poser, loser, and you're going to be
what Joe Scarborough calls Joe Scarborough on MSNBC going to
(08:30):
be soon called ms now.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
He's even saying, look, you got to change up what
you're doing here. This ain't working.
Speaker 4 (08:38):
The Democrats are trying.
Speaker 5 (08:39):
To find their footing and it's it's it's quite embarrassing.
Speaker 4 (08:43):
Actually, I mean, Gavin News, I mean, have you seen
what he's doing online, And.
Speaker 5 (08:50):
Just take a deep breath, don't don't try to turn
this ship one hundred and eighty degrees.
Speaker 4 (08:55):
And when they don't know what to.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
Do, I have a good idea.
Speaker 5 (09:00):
Instead of trying to like school Donald Trump, talk into
the camera.
Speaker 4 (09:06):
About affordability, talk about making.
Speaker 5 (09:09):
Groceries like more more affordable, talk about what you're going
to do for housing, talk about what you're going to
do for energy.
Speaker 4 (09:17):
Prices that continue to go up.
Speaker 5 (09:19):
We heard the congressman yesterday talk about energy prices skyrocketing
in New Jersey. And I don't try you knows, as
I've been saying, Donald Trump's not on the bellot in
twenty six, He's not on the ballot in twenty eight.
Why try to drag Muhammad Ali in the ring when
(09:41):
you got Chuck Webner sanding right in front of you.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
Weaponer's a bleeder.
Speaker 4 (09:47):
He's a bleeder. You want him? So why are you
going I'm going after Donald?
Speaker 1 (09:51):
No you're not.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
You're not running against Donald Trump.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
True, go after Tweedledee or Tweedledum.
Speaker 5 (10:00):
You know, Chuck Weber a bleeding, go after him.
Speaker 4 (10:03):
They like to Chuck web He kind of held in
their lunches fire.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
I think, well, a Democrat can look in the camera
and talk about the things the kitchen table issues so
called that Joe Scarborough mentioned. But what are they going
to say? How are they going to bring prices down?
I thought they did that with the Inflation Reduction Act?
Is that the other great accomplishment? Texter who started the
program that you would cite under Joe Biden, what.
Speaker 1 (10:28):
Happened to inflation?
Speaker 2 (10:29):
After that, it's skyrocketing, well, happening to our consumer spending power,
how far our own dollars go.
Speaker 1 (10:37):
That dwindled.
Speaker 2 (10:40):
The price of goods, services, transport. It all comes down
to logistics, which all backs up to energy cost and production.
It starts with Trump's policy of drill, baby drill. It
continues with the opening of the permitting process so that
speculators will take that risk and gamble, knowing that they
(11:01):
can go from start to finish, prospect an area of land,
determine whether or not it is conducive for drilling and
fracking for natural gas and oil, dedicate the resources to it,
knowing they can cultivate that resource from the ground, package it,
resell it distributed. It's a basic breakdown what happens. And
(11:22):
it is such an important industry.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
Right here in Colorado, Colorado Oil and Gas Association one
of our largest. You want to tap into a revenue source.
You want to address this budget shortfall.
Speaker 2 (11:37):
That those in the Assembly are trying to blame on
our congressional Republicans, which makes no sense. The federal budget
and whatever they allocate to us should have nothing to
do with what we set for our own state budget
here in Colorado, has nothing to do with Gabe Evans.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
Lauren Bobert, Jeff Heard or, Jeff Crank.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
And Representative Crank will join us on tomorrow's program. If
we give the green land to energy exploration, excavation development
here in Colorado, our economy will sing. If we make
it easier for farmers and ranchers to do business in
this state by lowering energy costs, our economy will sing.
(12:18):
How are Democrats going to remedy that when they red
flag everything coming when it comes down to energy production.
Speaker 1 (12:25):
Riddle me that not the.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
Freaking windmills off the coast of New Jersey that are
killing all the birds.
Speaker 1 (12:30):
You talked about energy costs in New Jersey rising. Why
do you think that is? It's state policy run by
Democrats and their Democrat governor. It is an obstacle to
energy production, Logistics distribution, the cost of transporting goods, services, etc.
Groceries that you buy in the store. This is not
(12:50):
that difficult.
Speaker 2 (12:51):
This is like base level econ one oh one. You
make it cheaper to produce and use energy, and you
will produce more things and be able to transport them.
The cost of energy is not going up in Republican
states or where there's a lot of energy exploration and production.
In fact, what I've noticed around here, and I'd have
(13:13):
to check, like the Triple A numbers or the gas
Buddy numbers, he's the price of a gall of gas,
at least for eighty five octane is dripping below three
dollars a gallon, and I believe it's been trending downward.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
How about your your energy cost payments?
Speaker 2 (13:30):
So it depends that on the Trump administration to suggest
that Democrats have a better idea. They don't. They simply
don't because they're green. Energy policies are economy killers. And
that's just the fact of the matter. Five seven seven
three nine is where you can text us. I also
want to get into this because did the DNC chair
listen to what Joe Scarborough just said. Let's go to
(13:53):
Ken Martin. I think he's from Minnesota. He is the
chair of the Democrat National Committee. Let's see what he
has to say.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
Is he going to keep playing these games or.
Speaker 2 (13:59):
Is he talk to American people bread and butter, kitchen
table issues?
Speaker 1 (14:03):
How can we make your lives better?
Speaker 6 (14:05):
The Republican administration has given us no reason to work
with their administration. What they're doing at every single level
is a moral and unconstitutional I'll leave it to the
policymakers around the country and elected officials to decide what
they're going to do and the best interests of the
constituents they represent. But let me say right now, as
I said for weeks now, this is a moment in
(14:27):
time where we have to stand up to this fascist regime.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
It's so tired and played out.
Speaker 2 (14:32):
We started with the joy Reid cut nour one, now
Ken Martin DNC chair fascist regime.
Speaker 4 (14:38):
I mean, these are boutique.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
Issues for the liberal coastal elite. They don't affect the
people in flyover country. And I'm talking about urban centers too.
How about people in the city of Chicago that feel
left behind and overlooked. Donald Trump did better with black
and Hispanic voters than any Republican candidate for president since
Richard M. Nixon in nineteen sixty sixty four years prior.
Speaker 1 (15:05):
Why is that this is not a message that sells these.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
High browed, high minded elite professorial university leftist campus driven narratives, themes, theories,
it's a fascist regime that has nothing to do with
the price of butter in Cleveland. How are you gonna
do better? Donald Trump's out there making people's lives better
(15:33):
with his policies, both foreign and domestic.
Speaker 1 (15:36):
You simply cart.
Speaker 2 (15:37):
From the sidelines and call him a fascist Orange man bad,
He is Hitler. All of us who voted for him,
we are Nazis, brown shirts coming And that brings us
to Washington, d C. The federal crackdown on crime there,
and this goes to another point. Here's a Lensia Johnson
(15:58):
DEM strategist and again totally missing the mark.
Speaker 7 (16:02):
Listen, I live in the DNB area. I am from
the area, and listen. You can talk about the numbers
that you all have reported on that crime has come
down over the years. And yes, there are people who
have felt individual instances, but the bigger issue that a
lot of folks are talking about in DC is this
over policing of black communities, black and brown communities, and
(16:22):
we're seeing this as part of a bigger picture of
what the Trump administration is doing across the country, and
so it's actually not making people feel safer.
Speaker 1 (16:30):
There are a lot of people who.
Speaker 7 (16:31):
Are staying home, the restaurants are feeling it, and people
are really concerned, And so I actually disagree with the
statement that people don't know what they need when the
city has actually come together and started voting people in
office to help bring crime down.
Speaker 1 (16:43):
It's entirely wrong. They've cooked the books.
Speaker 2 (16:45):
The police chief in d C has been investigated about this,
and Mayor Murial Bowser in DC is being asked about this.
It's been done right here in Denver too, a way
to massage the numbers, reclassify crimes, not get specific and
the details there to show that crime and quotes has
come down in these cities when it's factually false. The
(17:07):
over policing of black and brown communities, it's real easy
to say from your ivory towers. Again, coast of liberal
elites that living gated communities, they don't have to deal
with this stuff. It doesn't affect them. Talk to the
black and brown communities and the people within them themselves
as to whether they want to see an increase in policing,
and you're going to get a resounding yes, they're staying home.
(17:28):
Why would they stay home when it's safer out It
is safer right now in DC, there have been a
measurable decline in crimes committed ever since President Trump made
the announcement and assigned the National Guard to that task.
The DC Police, bless their hearts and the rank and file,
they're doing the best that they can. They were not
getting the job done. They were not allocated the resources,
whether that's personnel or the budget that they need to
(17:50):
go out there, clean up the streets and do what
needs to be done. So the federal government came in
as they are legally able to do in the Federal
District of Columbia and reassessing the crime situation on the
ground there. Stephen Miller went full.
Speaker 7 (18:04):
On all of these demonstrators that you've seen out of
here in recent day, all.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
Of these elvet white hippies.
Speaker 4 (18:11):
They're not part of the city and never happened.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
And by the way, most.
Speaker 4 (18:15):
Citizens of live Washington, d C.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
Are black. This is not a city that has had
any safety for its black citizens for generations.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
And President Trump is the one who is fixing that
with the importand measure polity the police department.
Speaker 1 (18:31):
This is more the National Bard and our Federal Law
Office officers. So we're going to ignore these stupid white hippies.
But all need to go flome a ticket now because
we're all over ninety years old and we're gonna get
back in the business. And I'm protecting the American people
of a citizens of Washington decent. He's Ryan. It's the
stupid white hippies coming in and protesting. The people in
these so.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
Called black and brown communities are the ones affected by crime,
and they want safer streets and neighborhoods. And that's the
bottom line. Look in Louisiana. Reached out to his comms director.
We're going to try to get him on the program
for the time being. Lots of local coming your way.
To close out today's show, Ryan Schuling Live with you now,
(19:12):
I reached out to find out more about the Douglas
County School District and the campaign for spots on the
school board.
Speaker 1 (19:19):
That is a pivotal school board.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
It is very important and joining us now the finance
chair for four of the school board candidates, Andy Jones,
here on Ryan Schuling Live.
Speaker 1 (19:28):
Andy, Welcome, Ryan. It is such a privilege.
Speaker 8 (19:33):
And man, I tell you what you warmed my heart.
I'm from New Orleans. I was born on the Bayou
and that is the Senator that I am proud of.
But I'm very excited to be here on the program
with you and thank you for the opportunity serendipity.
Speaker 2 (19:48):
Indeed, and Andy, the reason I reached out is because
this is coming up right quick, twelve thirty to two
pm on Saturday, this Saturday.
Speaker 1 (19:56):
So just two days from today. Take us through the event,
if you would please, and exactly what's going on.
Speaker 8 (20:03):
Well, So we have an incredibly important election coming up
in November, and this is and to maintain four conservative
seats on our school board in Douglas County. The four
incumbents are not running. These are four amazing new candidates
that are all parents that of all, they're all very
(20:26):
serious people in the community. And for them to step
up and say yes, I will help to manage the
third largest school district in the state of Colorado.
Speaker 1 (20:36):
The fifty sixth largest.
Speaker 8 (20:37):
School district in the country is incredibly vital. So on Saturday,
we are excited to introduce our four candidates and that's
Keaton Gamble, d D. Kramer, Matt Smith and Steve Vale.
And this will be at Redstone Park in Highlands Ran.
(21:01):
It'll be right there by the stadium in Highlands Ranch.
The parking will be in the stadium, and then we
will have pizza, we will have games. Most importantly been
opportunity for people to meet these four candidates and see
kind of what their vision is for this amazing school
district that we are part of. And Ryan just to
(21:23):
drive home that Duse County School District is the number
one school district in the Denver metro area. We have
vaulted and by leaps and bounds, we've vaulted over Cherry
Creek and all of the other school districts. Our test
scores are higher than pre pandemic test scores and that
is in I think large part because of a conservative
(21:44):
school board that brought in a strong superintendent that got
us out of the lockdowns that the Democrats put us
in in twenty twenty one and the damage that was
done to our students, our kids.
Speaker 1 (21:58):
Now it's just been a the.
Speaker 8 (22:00):
Amazing results of what good, strong, balanced conservative leadership is
going to bring to our school district. We want to
continue that with these four candidates. And it's just going
to be a great event on Saturday for folks to
find out how to get plugged in to meet the
candidates and we're actually going to start knocking doors that afternoon.
(22:21):
So that's the gist of what we're doing.
Speaker 2 (22:24):
Well, said Andy Jones, finance share for these four school
board candidates and Doug Coe.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
And I'm so glad, Andy, you brought up Cherry Creek.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
When I moved here seven years ago, it was the
gold standard not just for Colorado, but I knew about
it nationwide as one of the best public school systems
in the country. And yet in those seven years in
which I've lived in that district, mind you, we've seen
it go precipitously downhill when it comes to scoring. And
this just in the news. It's not been confirmed yet,
(22:51):
but there appears to be a.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
Push to enforce equity in grading, meaning if a student
didn't do an assignment, rather than getting a zero k O,
you would get a forty or fifty percent.
Speaker 2 (23:03):
I mean, this is the very thing Andy, I have
to imagine these candidates for the Doug Cooe school Board
are looking to avoid.
Speaker 8 (23:09):
Absolutely And one of our amazing candidates, Ddee Kramer, actually
fled the Cherry Creek School District over three years ago
to come down to Douglas County because of all the
things that she and her husband, as a family of
three girls, were seeing happening there and she is absolutely
ecstatic about the education that her three daughters have received
(23:31):
are receiving here in Douglas County and escaping the nightmare
that is Cherry Creek School districts.
Speaker 2 (23:38):
Yeah, the times are changing and these candidates once again,
if you live in doug Co, one of them will
be on the ballot for you and depending on what
district you live within, the district Keaton Gamble, Dede Kramer,
Matt Smith, Steve Vale, you can meet them all, you
can participate in this great event. It's Saturday twelve thirty
pm to two pm at beautiful Redstone Park in Highland's Ranch.
He's the finance chair for all four of these school
(23:59):
board candidates and we're going to pull for all four
of them to win.
Speaker 1 (24:02):
Andy Jones has been our guest.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
Andy, thank you so much for the time and best
of luck with the event on Saturday.
Speaker 8 (24:08):
Ryan, thank you so much. Looking forward to talking to
you again.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
All right, We look forward to that and your response,
especially if you live in Dudco. At five seven, seven
three nine when we come back, even more local and
we'll close out the show with your text as well
five seven, seven, three nine after this on Ryan Shiling Live.
Speaker 1 (24:29):
Siling Live.
Speaker 2 (24:30):
Welcome back to it, and want to remind you of
another event that's coming up, and this year will be
the fifth annual VFW Post recognition of Patriot Day.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
And joining us now live in studios Paul Grims. He
was a past commander during COVID of VFW Post ninety
six forty four and the best of Show trophy coming
up at a car show is an honor of his brother,
who was a casualty of the New York City Fire
Department on nine eleven. So, Paul, thank you so.
Speaker 2 (24:58):
Much for your time, for your ser and for your
brother's service as well.
Speaker 9 (25:03):
Well, thank you.
Speaker 1 (25:03):
Ryan got to Michael go ahead, Thank you.
Speaker 9 (25:07):
Ryan.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
It's great to be here.
Speaker 9 (25:09):
I really enjoy listening to you every day, and I
get to sit down and talk with you a little
bit is real.
Speaker 1 (25:19):
Exciting.
Speaker 2 (25:20):
Well, we love having you here, Paul, and I want
you to tell people about this event.
Speaker 1 (25:23):
We're a couple of weeks out now, so.
Speaker 2 (25:24):
It'll be in a couple of weekends up on the
first full weekend of September there on the sixth. It's
a Saturday, tell people winning where it is and what
will be going on.
Speaker 9 (25:34):
Sure, it's at a VFW post nine six four to four.
The address is two six eight zero West Hampden and Sheridan.
We are the Ford Logan Post. The post is actually
a couple of miles away from Fort Logan on the
Old Hampden Road, just north of the River Point shopping Center.
Speaker 2 (25:55):
And what will happen with this car show is what
does the occasion and what does it do in celebration
of Patriot Day.
Speaker 9 (26:02):
Well, a little backstory five six years ago when I
was commander, I thought maybe we would have a car show,
and I started putting fields out because I don't know
anything about cars or car shows. And then of course
COVID happened, and are not so illustrious governor, you know,
just shut down the state, you know, and besides, you know,
(26:23):
killing small businesses and everything. He nearly killed up Post
Bingo was a main revenue source and he shut that down.
So we had no revenue coming in, but still the
bill still coming in. There was a point where were
actually down to one hundred dollars in our bank account. Unfortunately,
(26:43):
one of the auxiliary members introduced me to a guy
named Maverick, Mike, and Mike. He produces car shows professionally.
He has all the knowledge and expertise and contacts, and
he got us going. But that wasn't until June of
would have been twenty twenty. And you know, if you know,
(27:09):
the car show season is probably like around May to August.
So in June we couldn't do anything, you know, in
a month or two. So I said, what about September. Well,
he didn't think September was so good. He said, he's
slaughtering these guys. Put the cars away after Labor Day.
I said, well, you know, my back's against the wall.
(27:30):
We got to try it. So we looked at the
calendar and loan behold, Saturday in September was September eleventh.
Speaker 1 (27:38):
Oh wow, So I said, let's do.
Speaker 9 (27:41):
It for Patriot Day and keep keep that day alive
and make sure everyone remembers where they were on September eleventh,
Stember twelfth that year. Every every year I think about
it and how amazing it was on September twelfth, how
(28:02):
the country had come together. And I mean, I love
this country every day, but it was so much different
back in those days, and I just wish we'd go
back there, not to the events of not eleven, but
to the the the unity, the unity of a country
(28:22):
and everything, and even Congress was getting along, believing it
or not.
Speaker 1 (28:26):
They were singing outside the steps of the Capitol. I
remember that. Paul Grimm's our guest.
Speaker 2 (28:30):
He's been the past commander Commander rather at VFW Post
ninety six forty four. And this VFW Post car show
is coming to share it in down Hampton there on
Patrioty were just in advance of that, and the fifth
annual will be on Saturday, September sixth.
Speaker 1 (28:44):
What time is it taking place there, PAULM.
Speaker 9 (28:46):
The car show itself is from nine to two, But
if you want to put a car in there, registration
starts at seven.
Speaker 2 (28:54):
What is the best way for them to contact you
if they're interested, Well, they go.
Speaker 9 (28:58):
To the website, THEFW nine six four dot org and
there is a link to the car show on the website.
Other than that, they can call the Post or get
a hold of me.
Speaker 2 (29:18):
I got the phone number right here. I think three
zero three seven eight nine ninety seven thirty three.
Speaker 1 (29:23):
Is that right? I believe? So what I'm looking at.
Speaker 2 (29:25):
Thirty three zero three seven eight nine ninety seven thirty
three are again that website VFW nine six four four
dot org.
Speaker 1 (29:33):
Now, Paul, what I'm gonna do?
Speaker 2 (29:34):
So we're just kind of presenting it to the people
here in advance of this weekend. It's in two weekends
from right now. But let's have you come back on
and promote the event. We know, if you want to
get involved with a car you want to contact you know,
rather quickly right rather soon to do that to participate.
Speaker 9 (29:47):
Well, no, they should just show up today the US show. Yes, okay,
you know we used to do preregistration, but we learned that,
you know, the guys don't want to register in Telena.
Speaker 1 (29:56):
What the weather is gonna be like? Love it?
Speaker 2 (29:58):
Of course a car Offici Shinado's going to be caring
about the weather, especially if with hail here in Colorado.
Speaker 1 (30:03):
He is Paul Graham's.
Speaker 2 (30:04):
