Speaker 1 (00:00):
Honestly, the feedback's been overwhelmingly positive that people like what
we're doing. I'll give you another SoundBite. I actually happened
to be in Orlando last week with all of our managers.
We bring them together and once every other year, and
the number one question that I got asked Michael was
how can I get a remodel? When can I get
a remodel? How do I get on the list? Really so,
because the feedback in the buzz is so good, not
(00:21):
only from our customers but from our team members. They
want to work in a wonderful restaurant. So we're doing
everything for our guests and our team members.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
I'm dealing Messino. It's wonderful to have you here.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
Pleasure to me.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Thank you answer.
Speaker 4 (00:33):
Those questions for all the Cracker Beery fans out there,
a lot.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
Of great changes. Thank you so much. All right, thank you, Robin.
Can I get in writing that the peg game is
going to stay? That game mistake?
Speaker 1 (00:43):
So are the rocking chairs from the workplace vintage decor?
Speaker 2 (00:47):
It's all there? All right? Okay?
Speaker 5 (00:49):
Because that would be a deal breaker, Well it should
have been a deal breaker on Friday. I don't know
how Julie Fell's Messino Cracker Barrel CEO was not our
Fool the Week, But that tells you how strong the
nominees were. I guess because coming in the wake of
this was a lot of heat and some tumbling stock
prices that began again today down because I was checking
(01:10):
and all of this over a logo change, and now
we get this update. Cracker Barrel responds to backlash after
logo change, the chain admitted it could have done a
better job explaining its redesigned but reassured fans that classics
like rocking chairs and peg games aren't going anywhere now.
I don't know if this entire picture is accurate what
(01:31):
I've been seeing out there, but as a big Cracker
Barrel fan for a lot of years that yours truly
walking in there. Part of the charm was the store
and they got all these kind of interesting knickknacks, and
they've got the furniture outside, and then when you walk in,
it's like you're walking into its old home week. You know,
you got the rocking chairs, but even the tables in
(01:51):
the chairs and how they're set up, and the Americana
and the photos of old dead relatives from bygone eras
up on the walls.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
I mean, it's a whole feel.
Speaker 5 (02:00):
It's a little bit dimly lit in there, but that's
part of the ambiance, that's part of the experience. And
then when I saw this rebranded logo without Uncle Herschel
and just the kind of Cracker Barrel in print and
there it is, then I also saw kind of a redrawn,
a reimagining, shall we say, of what a Cracker Barrel
is going to look like. And it looked anti septic
(02:20):
and britt brightly lit and typical kind of stalls, et cetera.
And I didn't like what that was doing whatsoever. And
it goes to the rest of this Cracker Barrel has
apologized to fans for their new logo's rollout, which was
criticized by many as bland and uninspired. Cracker Barrel added
that Uncle Herschel, the character on its road signs and
(02:42):
the namesake of Uncle Herschel's favorite black breakfast platter.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
It's great, isn't going anywhere? It true. This response from our.
Speaker 5 (02:50):
Next guest quote the last time I ate at a
Cracker Barrel was in April, and I remember leaving really
bummed down. The waitress was just as rude and preoccupied
as every other. The food was subpar. I thought, was
cracker barrel always this mediocre? Reassuring to know in fact,
servicing quality did take a nose dive after the pandemic,
and the CEO's solution tripled down on cold, bland and forgettable.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
He is Chadwick Moore.
Speaker 5 (03:15):
He has written the definitive biography on Tucker and you
can find that on Amazon as well, and he's got
a career update for us in addition, so we got
a lot to talk about.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
Chadwick Moore joins us on Ryan Schuling Live.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
Chadwick, Welcome back, Hey, Ryan, grat to be back with you.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
Absolutely.
Speaker 5 (03:30):
Let's start with the cracker barrel your experience there. Was
this an isolated incident or was this like a series
of times? You know, I'm gonna get a cracker barrel
another chance, but it was bad again.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
Oh you know, I think you know.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
Unfortunately I haven't been going as much as I would
have liked to, but whenever I got the opportunity, I
would stop by a cracker barrel, and it did seem
like in the last few years, I just thought, I
remember this place being so good and so special. And
am I just remembering this wrong for my childhood or
something really off? And you know it's you know there
A lot of people have been saying that no, actually
(04:02):
Cracker Barrel wasn't alone in quality going down of food
after during the pandemic, service especially, I mean, why would
Crocker Berrel be exemple when if you look around everywhere
every restaurant, the service has gone went down after COVID
and really has it recovered and waitresses are rude, preoccupied,
dismissive and it really wasn't as bad as before now
(04:24):
with the redesign. I mean, you sort of nailed it
in your intro there, But it's also that they're so
out of The CEO is so out of touch. She
doesn't realize that everything is trending back towards maximalism, if
you will. Millennial minimalism is out. Everyone's sick of it.
And I think the bigger story, I mean, I don't
think this is a silly story. I think it's actually
(04:44):
a really interesting cultural story in that people are yearning
for warmth, they're yearning for connection, they're yearning for a
sense of roots. And even though Cracker Barrel is just
some corporate chain restaurant that was the brand so to
at the court of Apple Store. Treatment of just cold
minimalism at a time when everyone is rejecting that and
(05:07):
making fun of it is just such a stupid movement,
such a punch of the gut to people who are
really sick of living in a monoculture America.
Speaker 5 (05:16):
Chadwick More you can follow on exit. Chadwick underscore Moreri
he is our guest. I'm thinking about this too, this reimagining, rebranding, rebooting.
You're talking about the minimalist versus maximalist approach. I think
that's a brilliant analysis. But I am thinking, as somebody
who's here in Denver, Colorado that occasionally enjoys going to Boulder,
one of the most liberal bastions of far leftism in.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
America, that I would not want.
Speaker 5 (05:41):
Or expect, let's say, the North Face or one of
those companies that's doing business up there in Boulder to
suddenly get taken over by a conservative CEO that forces
that lens on that company to bring it over to
the right and like institute mandatory prayer during an ned
or something.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
I can't imagine this.
Speaker 5 (06:01):
In other words, Chadwick going the other direction politically, and
if it did, it would go over like a lead balloon,
as it should.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
Yeah, you're right, you know, it's like butt light all
over again. It's like leadership that doesn't understand their customer
or maybe in fact, actively hates their customer and doesn't want,
you know, it, does not appreciate their customer and wants
to try to steer them into the kind of person
that they want them to be. As you said, you know,
we wouldn't go expect a north Face to have like
a you know, a maga hata snowmash or whatever it
(06:31):
is they fell at North Face. I don't shop there,
and so in the same respect, you know, I don't
know why these companies feel like they have to to
to to treat their customers that way. And they're paying
for it, you know, And and it shows that the
dogs dropping the stock price, and and you know, maybe
some people who work there, maybe not the CEO seems
very undeservedly sure of herself, but maybe some people who
(06:55):
work there realize that they actually did have something special.
And hopefully it's not too late to save that.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
Chadwick More are a guest.
Speaker 5 (07:02):
Now, Chadwick, you've cited examples here on your ex feed
that I want to touch on in terms of blue
leaning states that could go red that likely don't, but
recently at least in a gubernatorial race Virginia did and
now win some Sears is running against Abigail Spanberger who
tries to present herself as this moderate Democrat and that
(07:22):
will win over the middle, which she needs to win
that election for governor coming up next year in Virginia.
And then there was this sign by a Spanburger supporter
and a protester that says, quote, Hey, Winsome, if trans
can't share your bathroom, then blacks can't share my water fountain.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
Unquote Chadwick.
Speaker 3 (07:42):
Your reaction, then, for the record, here listens. No, Winsom
is intact a black woman. And I mean it was
just shocking, absolutely shocking, but then again not shocking from
the class of protester and democratic activists that we're dealing
with today, who all seem to be sort of like
(08:04):
a certain age, a certain income level, a certain retirement status,
who have little else going on. You know, ex. Hippies
who are still be like they're fighting the man and
fighting the power. You know, these are the same people
have bought their first house for twenty grand, and now
they sold it for one point two million. And they
think that they still need to fight some kind of
oppression that exists all around them. And theirs minds are so
(08:26):
worked and poisoned by this idea of themselves and this
idea of their activism, you find them literally turning into segregationists,
like this woman in Virginia with her sign about black
stopping able to drink get her drinking fountain.
Speaker 5 (08:40):
And the Spamburger campaign sent out a statement distancing themselves
from it.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
But I mean the damage had been done.
Speaker 5 (08:46):
This is obviously a bad look, completely tone deaf, out
of touch. He goes back to Cracker Barrel, the CEO there,
but continuing down this road, Chadwick, I think we're onto
something here because the Democrats they're flailing. They're looking to
reconnect with the part of America that used to make
them a formidable party. We're talking about the rust belt,
working class, blue collar unionized labor.
Speaker 2 (09:08):
They have punted all of that. It would seem for
this coastal.
Speaker 5 (09:11):
Liberal elite kind of mindset of what plays well on
the coasts and from their academic friends, and we get
into this whole thing. And the reason I bring this up.
We go from Virginia to Minnesota. The Saganaw Ojibwa Nation,
which in my view, in my experience having worked directly
with that tribe is headquartered in Saginaw, Michigan and Central Michigan.
(09:34):
The Chippewas, that is the mispronunciation of Ojibwa, the French
applied that. It's a long story, but let's just say
the tribe has a really good relationship with the university
that I attended there. It also has a presence in Minnesota.
And this is Lyndy Salmik giving an invocation of sorts
at this DNC Summit to Summer meeting. Kat Martin, the
(09:57):
DNC chair, relinquishes the mic and Lindy Somic gives a
land acknowledgement because this is really popular with most Americans.
Speaker 6 (10:05):
Lndy Somik, who is from the Sagana Ojibwe nation, and
she's going to deliver our land acknowledgment today.
Speaker 7 (10:12):
Lindy Bouju, Lindy Samic and Indigita cause amcdotum Uh sag
Dojaba and shabe Quay And now good morning DNC members,
friends and relatives.
Speaker 8 (10:26):
Let's talk about the land.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
For a second, the DNC.
Speaker 8 (10:30):
Acknowledges and honors the Dakota Yata, the Dakota people who
are the original stewards of the lands and waters of Minneapolis.
The Dakota cared for the lands, lakes in the Wakatanka,
the Great River, the Mississippi River for thousands of years
before colonization. This land was not cleaned or traded. It's
a part of a history of broken treaties and promises,
(10:52):
and in many ways we still live in a system
built to suppress Indigenous people's cultural and spiritual history.
Speaker 5 (10:58):
Jawick I had this conversation with my good friend Valdemar Archiletta,
the former president of the log Cabinet Republicans here in Colorado,
and he is part Shoshone Indian. And the part that
always boggles my mind here is, let's go before colonization,
the bad white settlers.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
The evil Europeans.
Speaker 5 (11:13):
Okay, they are presenting this as if Native Americans indigenous
people were a monolith that all of the tribes got together,
got along, never fought, there was no warring factions. The
Sioux got along with the Dakota, got along with the Chippewas,
got along with the Ottawa, got along with the Cherokee,
got along with the Apache.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
That is not factually accurate.
Speaker 5 (11:35):
These are warring tribes that conquered lands from one another,
raped and pillaged opposing tribes well before white settlers even
arrived on the continent.
Speaker 7 (11:45):
That's right.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
I'm actually right now I'm reading Empire the Summer Moon,
which is all about the Command Cheese. And if you
ever want to know how violent and warlike and Native
American tribes could be and how which they fought one another,
or there you have it in that book is a
great historical docum mutation. You know, any any group, I mean,
anyone who's using the phrase land acknowledgement and it's not
(12:06):
part of a punchline is not a serious person, and
you're not a part of the national conversation, of the
national conversation with serious people. And that's exactly what we're seeing.
I mean, the Democratic Party is absolutely not a part
of the national conversation right now. They're a joke. They're floundering.
Gavin Newsom is on Twitter making a fool of himself
and he might be their next leader. They don't know
(12:28):
what to do, and it's then, you know, That's why
all we see is in fighting on the right. That's
the only thing that's happening in politics right now. For
the discussion is is factions of the right now on
each other because the left is still doing land acknowledgements.
Speaker 5 (12:42):
Chadwick Moore joining us here. I want to stay with Minnesota.
This is Ken Martin, the chair of the DNC, and
this one will again, It'll just blow your doors off.
Speaker 6 (12:52):
Now. Look, folks, I'm sick and tired of this Democratic
Party bringing a pencil to a knife fight. We cannot
be the only part that plays by the rules anymore.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
We've got to stand up and fight.
Speaker 5 (13:04):
We're not going to have a hand tied behind our
back anymore.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
Let's call a damn spot and.
Speaker 6 (13:09):
Get in those fight Democrats.
Speaker 5 (13:11):
Let's think back over the last oh, I don't know,
eight years here, Chadwick is the Democratic Party, the only
party that plays by the rules.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
Yeah, there's law fighting Democrats like what tisia? James Judge
hereon and I mean, why do you even start like
your mind just gets too full of all the examples. Yes,
the cheating line Democrats, the Russia Russia Russia hoax. But
you know it's time that they really start trying to
fight formatively, because you know, weaponizing the justice system for
(13:42):
the last eight years against their political opponents wasn't enough.
They really need something bigger and better. Those poor, sweet,
docile little lambs Democrats are just getting unfairly beaten out there.
Speaker 5 (13:53):
Now, Chadwick, here's Governor Tim Wallas again. This all happened
at the same venue that was today at this minute.
So to DNC summer meeting. Now, if you want to
win back, let's say some disaffected Democrats that left the
party may be.
Speaker 2 (14:07):
Voted for Trump.
Speaker 5 (14:08):
What do you do well? I think the best path
might be just to insult them.
Speaker 9 (14:12):
Think of how easy it would be to be a
damn Republican. Oh what should I wear today?
Speaker 2 (14:17):
This stupid freaking red hat. What should I say today?
I don't know. Just make sure it's cruel. Who do
we listen to that guy? Oh, the felon in the
White House. Yeah, listen to him and that will be fine.
Speaker 9 (14:28):
Now he's talking about burning flags. He's gonna have flag
burning or whatever because he knows there's a hell of
a lot of flags with his picture on it that
are going to get burned.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
We're just telling morons following Trump Chadwick.
Speaker 3 (14:38):
Yeah, they're stupid people who are mad about their jobs,
going overseas in the Rosvelt States that Trump won twice. Yeah,
all those stupid people. It's unbelievable, this smug arrogance of
these people, these Democrats, they don't have no clue how
they look and sound to average people. And as you mentioned,
the exact voters that they need to win and should
(14:59):
be trying to win. But look what happens when they
target groups that are putting their party and try and
win over like they did with you know, they had
an effort recently to get young men on board. And
was it like the director of that like some obese
trainsgender woman or something I can't remember, who you know
is gonna tap into like what really appeals to young
men or I guess there's David Hogg or one of
(15:19):
those people. I mean, it's almost like it's beyond parodying
these people.
Speaker 2 (15:26):
Chadwick More.
Speaker 5 (15:27):
You can follow on x at Chadwick Underscore More and
also he is the author of Tucker Now.
Speaker 2 (15:34):
I got to say this.
Speaker 5 (15:35):
This rating for your book Chadwick has held at four
point eight stars.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
This is despite all the trolls that you know, had.
Speaker 5 (15:41):
To have come out of the woodwork to go to
Amazon to tank the rating, and yet there you stand
at four point eight.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
I think that speaks highly of the work.
Speaker 3 (15:49):
Oh, thank you very much. You have a troll. You know,
they'll always come out for people like us, so you
go watch out for that.
Speaker 5 (15:56):
So you've taken your talents from writing that book, and
it was wonderfully done, and a lot of people in
our audience have read it and enjoyed it. And now
I'm told by Kelly, I don't know if this is
breaking news, but you're going to be joining the New
York Post, where our good friend Miranda Divine works, and
I just want to congratulate you on that and give
you a chance to tell our audience what that will
entail for you.
Speaker 3 (16:16):
Well, thank you very much.
Speaker 5 (16:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (16:17):
I started in the Post a couple of weeks ago.
I'm a senior reporter in the news Features department, which
is a wonderful department, a really, really great team. I'm
settling in here and basically we do you know, longer
form stories, investigative stories, and you know, I'm working on
something about Antifa this week. I had something about free
speech in the UK last week sort of clamped down
(16:40):
the UK arresting twelve thousand people a year for speech violations.
But that also hopefully still have some fun. I've been doing,
you know, some some profiles of interesting people, and you know, well,
I want to I want to also try to not
just expose all the bad things happening in the world,
but also celebrate the good and the fun and entertaining.
Speaker 5 (17:03):
Now, Chadwick, just one more thing from you, a bit
of a prediction, and that is, we see a lot
of positive trends markers out there for President Trump's policies,
whether it be terrorists or tax cuts or the economy itself,
the cost of energy coming down. How much more of
this do you think the Democrats can take? And how
much crazy are they going to get when his policies
are successful?
Speaker 3 (17:25):
Oh, I mean, we don't want to push them to
how crazy they can get. Just and you think you've
seen it all, something else you've seen it all. A
transgender woman is heading up the effort to get young
men to vote. So it's going to take a lot
We'll have to see.
Speaker 5 (17:45):
All right, Well, there's only one book left in stock
on Amazon.
Speaker 2 (17:48):
You can get it right now.
Speaker 5 (17:49):
If you go to Amazon dot com, just search for
Chadwick Moore and Tucker. That is the definitive biography of
Tucker Carlston and our guests right here, Chadwick Moore it.
You can follow him on x at Chadwick underscore more
and his substack available on his website. He's everywhere chadwickmore
dot com. Now of the New York Post, Chadwick, great,
catching up, my man. Thank you so much for your time.
(18:11):
We'll talk again soon. Oh, thank you, all right, Chadwick
Moore right there, five seven seven three nine. Your response,
your reaction, Uh, very entertaining as always, but it just
it boggles the minding everything I just peppered him with.
You think about from cracker barrel to uh no blacks
at drinking fountains. We're gonna play that card to Minnesota
(18:33):
and doing a land acknowledgement and insulting Trump voters. I mean,
the Republican's best asset and ally right now are the
faces and names and voices in the Democratic Party. So
I guess we should say thank you. Question mark five
seven seven three nine. There were a lot of hot
takes from our president today in the Oval office, and
(18:55):
you're gonna get a taste a flavor of one of them.
We come back with more after this on Ryan Scherling Live.
If you're looking for some sanity in this crazy world
we're living in, especially here in Colorado, and the crazy
world that can be the real estate market, May I
turn your attention to Ashley Key and keyfrontrange homes dot com.
(19:17):
That's the website and it's easy to remember. But if
you want to get in touch with Ashley Key directly,
I invite you to do that right now. I'm going
to give you a moment. You can think of this number.
Speaker 2 (19:25):
You can wish it into existence, you can burn it
into your brain, or more importantly, you can write it
down or punch it into your phone. You ready, okay?
Speaker 5 (19:33):
Seven two oh five zero seven forty five thirty nine.
If you missed it, here it is again, seven two
oh five zero seven forty five thirty nine. If you
still need a reminder on that, shoot me a text.
I'll follow up with you. But start that conversation with
Ashley Key if you're looking to move into a new home.
She factors in all the variables that you need to
(19:55):
consider in your equation and delivers you a constant, and
that's what I'm constant looking for myself is what can
you count on? And you can count on Ashley Key.
If you're feeling overwhelmed at the thought of moving all
the moving parts that go along with that. How do
I stage my home? How do I present it? Can
I take photos of it?
Speaker 2 (20:12):
Well?
Speaker 5 (20:13):
Ashley has that one on lockdown, and you can count
on her to make your home it's best looking, its
best to put it online for everybody to see and
for you to sell at Keyfront.
Speaker 2 (20:24):
Range homes dot com. That's k e y Front.
Speaker 5 (20:27):
Range homes dot com. All one word or one month
time that phone number. I'm gonna give it to you
seven two oh five zero seven forty five thirty nine
for Ashley Key Keyfront Range Hoomes dot Com. Do not
forget full service real Estate Elevated. It's time once again
for another edition of Trump's Hot Takes, charting the forty
(20:47):
seventh president's epic interactions with the fake news mediat Hols House,
Coming More Range.
Speaker 10 (20:53):
I don't know.
Speaker 11 (20:56):
Department of just they rated my ause.
Speaker 3 (20:58):
I can tell you that they did a big rate
on my eyes.
Speaker 9 (21:01):
They took away everything that wasn't bidden.
Speaker 2 (21:04):
Down, and they took away some of that too.
Speaker 5 (21:06):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (21:07):
Now, they raided Mara A Lago.
Speaker 6 (21:09):
They started that there and these were bad people that
we had in.
Speaker 2 (21:12):
Our government before they raided mar A Lago.
Speaker 9 (21:15):
They went into my wife's area, they went into my
son's there, my young son.
Speaker 3 (21:19):
Are and what they did was a disgrace.
Speaker 2 (21:23):
But how did it work out?
Speaker 6 (21:26):
We'll go, I say where the well, I guess it
didn't work out too well for them.
Speaker 3 (21:31):
That they are bad people.
Speaker 10 (21:33):
Because they're sick.
Speaker 2 (21:34):
They're sick people and they came in with their guns
into Marrow Lago and like ninety eight people.
Speaker 7 (21:41):
I wasn't there.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
Fortunately I was their goals talking.
Speaker 3 (21:44):
But they are they are very evil, very sick people.
They grew up and they if they would have won.
Speaker 9 (21:50):
The election, this country wouldn't exist as we know.
Speaker 1 (21:53):
This country would have been a failed country.
Speaker 6 (21:55):
And now it's the hottest country anywhere in the world
by far.
Speaker 1 (21:59):
We are the hottest count in the world by far.
Speaker 3 (22:01):
Okay, okay.
Speaker 2 (22:03):
Another question.
Speaker 5 (22:06):
President Trump in the Oval Office today, How vindicated? How
satisfied must President Trump feel, especially after the marri A
Lago raid.
Speaker 2 (22:16):
We'd even talk about that with Chadwick Moore. The law fair.
Speaker 5 (22:20):
Russia collusion, the investigation, two impeachments, the weaponization of the
Justice Department in clownish fashion, Jack Smith, and that raid
of mar A Lago, the thirty four quote unquote felony
counts which have since been summarily dismissed, the judgment against him,
Letitia James crowing about that on Twitter that's been overturned.
Speaker 2 (22:42):
Trump's just winning everywhere, you know.
Speaker 5 (22:44):
I called it Reaganing, And that's from a thirty Rock
episode where the Alec Baldwin character, who is a Republican,
cites that is why everything's going his way. So what
is he doing? He's reaganing. We're just trumping through life
right now. There w's where hanging w is left and right.
Speaker 2 (22:58):
Fly to w Wow.
Speaker 5 (23:00):
The Democrats continue to collect El's Hey, Kelly, on a
scale of one to ten, how much fun do you
think President Trump is having in his job at the moment?
Speaker 10 (23:08):
Oh, a lot of fun. But President Trump is President Trump,
so he's always going to take jobs where jobs need
to be punch And I love it.
Speaker 5 (23:20):
I love I live for it, I voted for it,
I'm getting it. I am extremely satisfied with the job
President Trump is doing and the effects of his policies. Folks,
they are just beginning to take root. And there is
a tell on the horizon that Jerome Powell is going
to be cutting interest rates, which is going to.
Speaker 2 (23:42):
Light a fire into the economy as well. Shannon's gott
I wonder why hi?
Speaker 12 (23:46):
I told an ABC reporter on another station this morning
about talking about the Bolton raid, him calling it some
sort of law fair. I said, well, have you not
learned anything from cinema? You don't kill John Wick's dog.
Speaker 2 (24:00):
No, no, you don't.
Speaker 5 (24:02):
And if you come at the King, you best not
miss that's from the wire, if I recall correctly. Yeah.
Speaker 10 (24:07):
Also, don't go through Milania's Lacherrette.
Speaker 5 (24:11):
Well that, but I mean also just watch the Godfather trilogy,
especially the first two. You come at Michael Corleoni, you
try to take out his dad. Looked out by the
end of that one. Okay, he's settling all scores. I
don't begrudge Donald Trump. In fact, if that were you
(24:32):
or me, let's say, Shannon Kelly myself, any of you
listening out there and all of this had been done
to you, wouldn't you be even more bitter and vindictive
and trying to get me in settle those scores.
Speaker 2 (24:44):
He still is a happy warrior. Donald Trump has a
spring in his step.
Speaker 5 (24:48):
He's cracking jokes, he's having fun, he's getting serious stuff done.
He's not just a clown in there, like a lot
of people believe that he is.
Speaker 2 (24:54):
He's not.
Speaker 5 (24:56):
And then there comes this I gotta get audio for this,
because here we go the week style kill mar Abrago
Garcia real quickly on this topic. So apparently he's going
to be deported to Uganda, which not so ironically, is
the home of former WWF star pro a wrestling fan
that I am, and I know Frank Durant out there.
Speaker 2 (25:17):
Is too, brother.
Speaker 5 (25:20):
Uh Kamala the Ugundan Headhunter, and I remember having that
conversation with Michael Brown because it was Kamala Harris, but
it was Kamala the Ugandan Headhunter.
Speaker 2 (25:30):
In the WWF.
Speaker 5 (25:31):
Well, that is where President Trump and the DOJ is
going to deport the MS thirteen gang member accused Kilmar
Abrago Garcia. And then there was an advocate for kilmar Abrago.
Garcia was very upset and he took to the microphone
and to the stage and to the podium and he
said how can President Trump send this Maryland father to Uganda?
(25:57):
He doesn't even speak the language there. Well, funny you
should mention that, because you're right. You know what the
official language is of Uganda, Kelly Go, your guests guess
along with the listener.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
It is English.
Speaker 5 (26:12):
And at a press conference earlier today, Kilmar Abrago Garcia
was speaking and he had to have, wait for it,
a translator because he doesn't speak the language of this country, English.
So you're right, he doesn't speak English, which is the
official language of Uganda. And if you come to this country,
(26:34):
I'm sorry. Like I said, my mom, brilliant woman, very smart,
one of the smartest women I've ever known. And not
just because she's my mom. She's extremely intelligent. May she
rest in peace. Walked into kindergarten not knowing a word
of English. By seventh grade, she skipped a grade. She
taught English to her own family members, to my grandmother,
(26:57):
to her little sister and little brother. My mom ended
up learning Spanish as well, so she spoke Serbian English
Spanish fluently, all three of them. I don't want to
hear it you come to this country. We've talked about
this before. There's two things. One, you should want to
become an American. That should be your driving force, like
(27:18):
Arnold Schwarzenegger talked about, like my mom talked about whenever
I would say, hey, Mom, watching the Olympics.
Speaker 2 (27:23):
So you weren't for Serbia. She's founding everything for Serbia.
I'm an American now, and I wish.
Speaker 5 (27:28):
Kelly you could have heard her voice, because that's exactly
how she sounded, just like I'm going to do that.
I'm an American every for American, and I loved her
for it. But you should want to be an American.
And if I were to move to a foreign land,
wherever that may be Italy.
Speaker 2 (27:47):
I love Georgia. Maloney got a big crush.
Speaker 7 (27:49):
On her back.
Speaker 5 (27:49):
But I shouldn't expect them to speak my language, right English.
That's kind of presumptuous and little arrogant of me, even
though a lot of the world does speak English. But
even so, I would make it my plan. I would
make it my mission to learn Italian. Or if I
was in Spain, Spanish, in France, French, in Germany, Kelly
speaks German, learn German. Right if you're moving there, you
(28:13):
want to be a part of that culture. You want
to assimilate. You want to live life as whatever that
country is. Would you not want to speak?
Speaker 2 (28:20):
How long was.
Speaker 5 (28:21):
Kilmar Abrego Garcia here illegally? I might add, didn't bother
to become a citizen? Wasn't interested in that, didn't bother
to learn English? Wasn't in Why are you here?
Speaker 9 (28:31):
Man?
Speaker 2 (28:32):
What's up?
Speaker 3 (28:32):
Bro?
Speaker 5 (28:34):
GTFO go to Uganda? Enjoy a break when we come back.
Uber in trouble again. And no, it's not just because
Kelly Kuchera keeps getting creepy drivers. Although that's part of
the story. We'll have the rest of the story Paul
Harvey style. We conclude today's episode of Ryan Schuling Live
after this.
Speaker 11 (28:55):
A biotech ceo is suing Uber after an illegal immigrant
driver was caught on cam appearing to violently assault him
in Charleston, South Carolina, knocking him unconscious and sending his
dog flying out of his arms. There was a warning
here the video is graphic. It's a bit hard to watch.
TC BioPharm CEO Brian Coebel suffered a severe concussion from
(29:15):
the assault. His attorneys say the Uber driver arrested, released
on ten thousand dollars bond, and last week Cobbel followed
a lawsuit against Uber.
Speaker 3 (29:25):
Uber in a statement.
Speaker 11 (29:26):
Provided a Fox News says, quote, there is no place
for violence on the Uber platform. While we can't comment
on petting litigation, Uber is deeply committed to safety and
complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and
regulations around worker eligibility. Emily from the lawsuit perspective here,
his lawyers are saying he had a severe concussion seven
(29:47):
staples because that head laceration. Then his attorneys say Uber
goes on to suspend his account when he gets out
of the hospital and within two days later he'd be
completely deactivated.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
This is Cobel.
Speaker 11 (29:59):
Then he starts to give them while the hospital records,
police records everything name Uber. Basically, they say victim blamed him.
Speaker 4 (30:06):
Guys, this is their pattern. We spoke about this in
the form of sexual abuse. Uber is all about profit
maximizing only true. Their whole ploy is so that they
are not employees, and it means that they don't have
to mandate things like cameras in every car for safety,
or background checks on these individuals, or citizenship requirements and
the like. I blame Uber squarely, and yes they're victim
(30:28):
shaming is par for the course. That's why they associate
alcohol with sexual assaults and the like. I'll leave it there,
but know that they have something coming for them big
in the way of liability here legally, and also they
need to change that corporate culture. There needs to be
pressure on them that they have to change these guys
from independent contractors into employees. It's the only way to
keep writers safe.
Speaker 5 (30:48):
Okay, now let's follow up on that, because Shannon, correct
me if I'm wrong, But you were kind of knee
deep in this story. The fire bombing lunatic who attacked
the Jewish protesters up in Boulder. Was he not.
Speaker 2 (31:00):
Driving for one of these ride shere? Affs? Was an
Uber or Lyft was one of them? Right? I believe?
Speaker 12 (31:04):
So?
Speaker 2 (31:04):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (31:04):
Yeah, okay, Okay, I used to drive for both Uber
and Lyft, and what I can tell you it's been
a while, but when I applied when I first moved here.
Speaker 2 (31:11):
This has been in twenty eighteen.
Speaker 5 (31:12):
Yeah, I had to pass a criminal background check and
also a driving record check. I couldn't be, you know,
having all these DUIs on my record and be approved
to drive for Uber or Lyft. I had to have
my vehicle inspected, and apparently Kennedy would say later in
this piece Kelly that they're just you go ahead and drive,
you know now, it's just like whoever shows up and
(31:34):
fills out a form, you can go ahead and drive Uber.
Speaker 10 (31:36):
That's been your experience, right, absolutely, And I can't I
cannot tell you how many times the drivers you want
to speak a look of English at all?
Speaker 2 (31:46):
That's unacceptable. I'm sorry, just this.
Speaker 5 (31:49):
I did get a lot of that reaction even while
I was driving, like they were surprised to see a
guy like me, if you know what I mean, driving
Uber that could speak articulate English and.
Speaker 2 (32:00):
Know where they had to go. Well, very debatable, thank.
Speaker 10 (32:03):
You, And he got a couple of dates out of it,
if I remember.
Speaker 2 (32:07):
How would you know that?
Speaker 5 (32:10):
Because you told me, oh, come on, that was just
a gobbledygook.
Speaker 12 (32:14):
Is that why you still have the stickers on your car?
Speaker 2 (32:16):
They'll hold on.
Speaker 5 (32:17):
It does help in some circumstances when I show up,
let's say, to an event and I went to a
rodeo with Christian Toto down in the Springs and they
were waving me through because they thought I was driving
him for Uber.
Speaker 2 (32:26):
And I don't take advantage of that.
Speaker 5 (32:29):
But more to the point, Kelly, you've had I think,
not just one, but two experiences where you felt in danger.
Speaker 10 (32:36):
Yes here, Yes, one was really really bad. He was
going the exact wrong direction. He was supposed to bring
me here to iHeart. We were on Hamden and once
I was I got admit. I was on my phone,
so I wasn't paying. But I looked out and I
(32:57):
saw Yaki and Yetti and I knew from experience, Oh,
we are not anywhere near iHeart. No, So I told
the gentleman. I'm like, hey, this is the wrong way,
and he said.
Speaker 2 (33:12):
No, hush, hush, he shushed you.
Speaker 10 (33:15):
Yes, And so I told you this. I called Adam
Adam one speaker, and so Adam basically said, whoever is driving?
I already called nine to one one on my other phone.
Speaker 2 (33:28):
There we go. It's a problem, and it's widespread for uber.
Speaker 5 (33:32):
Kelly had a couple of experiences where one guy was
so inappropriate with he you notified the APP and they
told you that he had been suspended or terminated.
Speaker 2 (33:42):
That was the guy. No, there was another one though,
there was a second one that.
Speaker 10 (33:46):
That was one to the airport. Yes, right, well, yeah,
both of them were supposed to be suspended and weren't.
Speaker 2 (33:54):
How do you know?
Speaker 10 (33:54):
But the gentleman, how do you know they weren't because
Uber called me after I reported the guy who basically,
you know, we called nine one one, so there was
a nine to one one report and we sent that
directly to Uber and then they called back and basically
said he is no longer driving with the company.
Speaker 2 (34:16):
His stuff has been too many of these though.
Speaker 5 (34:18):
And I saw this video what they were profiling on
out Numbered today, and it's unacceptable. The driver gets out
of the vehicle. First of all, as a former driver,
you just let the guy go. Maybe he was a jackass, fine,
you don't get a tip whatever. He follows the guy
out he's a Russian illegal alien, and then he headbuts.
Speaker 2 (34:34):
Him and punches him in the face.
Speaker 5 (34:36):
And I was really concerned about the dog because the
guy's holding the dog and he fell down with him,
got concussed, got knocked out. I mean, this guy should
be punted to the moon and definitely deported. So Uber,
get your act together. Start hiring American citizens only, and
they have to speak English. Yes it's not that big
of a requirement, but it's essential for American riders that'll
(34:56):
do it for me from here for now.
Speaker 2 (34:58):
Join me tomorrow on Ryan Schuling Live s
