Speaker 1 (00:01):
There's gotta be fishing coaches. I'm gonna guess for similar
to the coaches I had. You boys embarrass yourselves out
there on that lake today. Hey s got a hole
called the crane.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Chanson pulled a shoe out of the lake.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
And you couldn't catch a fish in the secret department.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
At the cross Restore.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
If I was a fish, I feel safer out everyone.
If there's a high school fishing coach somewhere out there,
there is an assistant high school fishing coach. And I
never wanted to meet somebody so bad in my life.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
God, where are going to have it back?

Speaker 3 (00:47):
Come up, inspect it and you better have all your
hooks and you better have all your lord But you're
not going.

Speaker 4 (00:54):
To get all that football.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
I'm telling you that.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
Wrong hill.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Folla got coach back to you. You think they have
fishing cheerleaders?

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Be patient, be.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
Pashent Schroy.

Speaker 4 (01:17):
What are you sure of?

Speaker 3 (01:18):
The fish.

Speaker 5 (01:21):
Cat?

Speaker 3 (01:22):
The shop sum out glass?

Speaker 2 (01:25):
You're Outcore motors?

Speaker 4 (01:26):
How the gas? Bye bye? That time.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Feeling Now from that.

Speaker 6 (01:46):
Time that from the champ to the new special being
offered by Greg Warren. It's now available on YouTube. He
joined us now on Ryan schuling live and Greg. That
hit a little close to home because my lifetime fishing
coach was my father and he was a fisheries and
wildlife major at Michigan State.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
So you were rhym the mark there.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (02:08):
Wow, that's so you got some sort of inside instruction then,
huh I did.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
But no cheerleaders for sure. And that's the sad part.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
Oh no, Yeah, And I would imagine he was because
of his job probably heavy emphasis on conservation.

Speaker 6 (02:23):
Oh that and just rock formations and where do you
go at? Very hands on coaching. So I just I
love that you derived this from a fishing experience that
most people can relate to.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
But for you personally, you know where you come from.
Was fishing big for you?

Speaker 5 (02:42):
No?

Speaker 3 (02:42):
No, I mean you know we did.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
We did a little bit of it. My brother, my
brother Devin is a really good fisherman. My brother Matt
does some deep sea fishing. But yeah, I never really
took to it, but I respect it.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Man.

Speaker 4 (02:57):
I didn't know I do this whole like there's.

Speaker 5 (03:01):
I had no idea that these kids compete.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
In fishing in high school. Very very interesting to me.

Speaker 6 (03:09):
Yeah, and my old high school and now was a
bowling team I can imagine that coaching going very similar,
like you know, depends whatever. But you, Greg, were an
All American wrestler, So I got to ask, you know,
was your experience in college wrestling anything remotely like what
you described with fishing?

Speaker 3 (03:25):
Were there cheerleaders in college wrestling?

Speaker 4 (03:28):
Not in college? High school they were, but not in college?

Speaker 3 (03:31):
Good?

Speaker 4 (03:31):
Okay, yeah, college was. It's a serious business, man, I
mean it was. It was. I'm proud of what I
did there, but I had some rough beginnings, man, humble
beginnings in college wrestling.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
I took some beings. He attended the University of Missouri,
so he's a tiger. Go Miszoo. Greg, What led you there?

Speaker 6 (03:51):
And you studied journalism, so obviously you kind of went
parallel to that with your craft of being in comedy.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
But how did that happen?

Speaker 4 (04:01):
Very gradually? I didn't have the courage to really chase
the comedy dream out of Cowech, so I took a
job in sales with Procter and Gamble. I sold Jiff
peanut butter for several years, which is uh, you know,
it's a it's a uh. It's the number one conduit
to be in a stand up comedian Jeff pan Butter.

Speaker 6 (04:25):
Greg Warren joining us his special The Champ, now out
on YouTube, and this follows his critically acclaimed special The Salesman,
produced by Nateland Entertainment.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
And the funny part.

Speaker 6 (04:36):
About this, Greg is, I've always struggled with Nate's last name,
and I go, I got to.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
Look this up.

Speaker 6 (04:41):
I know he's been on Jimmy Fallon, So I'll just
end they were talking about it.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
Here's that clip. Were you all saying BARGETSI you said, Papa,
you did right?

Speaker 4 (04:49):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (04:49):
All right, yeah play that. When people don't want to
say my name, I'll just like I said a couple
for a long time and I don't it was Bargatzi,
but forget. I'm sorry, But do you know.

Speaker 6 (05:07):
I guess that the Nate BARGATSI, uh, your name a
lot easier to say, So thank you for that, Greg.
But tell us about how you met Nate and how
you too one of the business together.

Speaker 4 (05:18):
Well, I knew him, uh when he was young, real young,
he was. We did a thing for country music television
together and he was very funny, you know, like it
was upsetting he was that young and that good. And
then uh, you know, I bumped him in New York
a few times, and then oh, a few years ago

(05:38):
he started, Uh, you know, Nate, Nate has a lot
of ambition and he wants to build a brand of
like sort of family friend friendly entertainment. And uh, I
was uh putting the finishing touches on a special and
the production company was working with told him like, hey,
Greg Warren has a clean comedy special that you might
be interested in. Nate was like, I had I like Greg,

(06:00):
and so we mean that together. And he, you know,
he's he's pretty hands off.

Speaker 3 (06:06):
He when he uh.

Speaker 4 (06:07):
Steps in, it's for you know, like he has some
really great ideas. Like I think the last special I
wanted to call like peanut butter Boy or something. He
was like, that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
Uh call it.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
The salesman, Uh I like it, and he he was like,
came in, don't have a lot of lead up on this,
to just start with a joke, man, start you know,
show the show the title card and then get right
to a joke. And that was what really helped us
on the last special. And so when he when he
weighs in, it's it's usually helpful. Uh, and and this

(06:38):
is our second project together, so I'm pretty excited about it. Now.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
It's called The Champ.

Speaker 6 (06:42):
So if I'm going to extend the metaphor, it's like
Rocky ring of the bell, boom, you go punch your opponent,
tell a joke like that.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
I got that about right, man. That's how it does.
We did put a bell. At the beginning.

Speaker 4 (06:54):
I thought it was going to be cheesy, but then
I was like, oh, this is pretty cool actually, man.
So yeah, we get started pretty quick. And I mean
the champions in quotes, it sort of talked about some
of the the beatings I took in my first year
of college wrestling. That's part part of the special. You know,
I talk about all kinds of other stuff, including high

(07:16):
school fishing.

Speaker 6 (07:17):
It's on YouTube. It's there already. You can check it out.
It's called The Champ. Greg Warren our guests joining us.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
Now, you mentioned a couple of times these beatings you.

Speaker 6 (07:26):
Took in high school wrestling in college wrestling as well.
You're right out of the gate there University of Missouri.
You know, I didn't wrestle, but I played basketball and
I watched the wrestlers. I observed them like Eugene Levey
here and waiting for guff Fan like I noticed them.
I took notes, but wearing garbage bags. Cutting weight, I know,
it was very difficult to get underweight, and then you're
competing amongst your teammates. I mean that's before you even

(07:48):
go out on the mat and wrestle somebody else. So
what was that experience like for you, Greg, and what
did you learn from it?

Speaker 4 (07:55):
You know, it was humbling the first couple of years,
you know, I just I got so tired all the time. Yeah,
and the practices were brutal.

Speaker 3 (08:07):
I remember this one practice.

Speaker 4 (08:11):
It was a tough practice, like I can't believe I
made it through, and the coach goes, we're not done
me at the bottom of the stairs. We're gonna run stairs.
And I was hurt, Like I legitally was hurt. I
said to my friend Darren Davis, I'm like, hey, man,
I don't think I can run these stairs. I go,
you think if I ask coach if I could just
ride the exercise bike instead of running stairs, he'd be cool.

(08:32):
And he goes, yeah, you should ask him. Let's just
say Davis did not have my best interest.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
And how did that go when you asked him, he
said no, with a lot of.

Speaker 4 (08:48):
Extra words that I don't really want to say on radio.

Speaker 6 (08:53):
Ye can find out more at his website too, Greg
Warrencomedy dot com. He's on tour, but I'm noticing a
lack of a stop in Denver. There's a great comedy
club here called Comedy Works, Greg. Not sure if you're
aware of it.

Speaker 4 (09:07):
One of the best, one of the best comedy clubs
in the country.

Speaker 3 (09:09):
Man, what do we got to do to get you
to come here?

Speaker 4 (09:12):
Tell them? I'm yeah, we gotta we gotta hit him up.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
Okay, I know. Well, it's funny because you can't forget
her name.

Speaker 6 (09:18):
It's Michelle Gibson, but she goes by Mel, so it's
Mel Gibson and I'm going to reach out to her.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
I'm going to do it. Thank you.

Speaker 4 (09:25):
Yeah, no, I I love that club man. It's it
doesn't get a whole lot better than that place. It's
been a while since I've been there, but yeah, it's great.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
Yeah, we'll get you back.

Speaker 6 (09:33):
And he's just in the beginning portion of this tour
that accompanies the YouTube special that you could watch as well,
called The Champ. I noticed here you're a glutton for punishment, Greg,
because not only were you a wrestler at Missouri, you
were a West Point cadet.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
How did that come about? It here for one year year?
That's one year more than many people.

Speaker 4 (09:52):
Yeah, I'm what the Army calls a quitter. I didn't
stay around though you're supposed to go for four years. Yeah, right,
and I say for one, I came up a little short, Yeah, a.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
Little bit, but you got in.

Speaker 4 (10:10):
I did get in. Yeah, I think I was. You know,
I got in. They wanted me to go there to wrestle,
but yeah, I mean I had decent enough grades to
get Endston. I really, in all seriousness, I value my
experiences there quite a bit.

Speaker 6 (10:27):
I learned a lot about.

Speaker 4 (10:30):
About hard work and disciplined and I have a respect
for the military, which you know, I know a little
bit about the military, which is kind of cool.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
Greg Warren our guest. You can follow him on ex
at Greg Warren.

Speaker 6 (10:43):
One of the things I heard Nate actually talking about
in his interview with Jimmy Fallon was Jimmy's experience aboard
this bus. And I'm not sure if you've had that
experience as well or Yeah, but tell us a little
bit about that if you would place.

Speaker 4 (10:56):
That's awesome, man, I mean it's yeah, yeah, I've been
on Nate's tour. We you know, the digs with Nate
now are crazy because you're playing with turn of like
twenty thousand people. But Nate likes to stay busy during
the day, so like we do all kinds of stuff,
all kinds of stuff that I'm terrible at. But we've
played basketball, you know, I'm awful at basketball, Nate's pretty good.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
And then we like went bowling.

Speaker 4 (11:22):
I'm terrible at bowling. I'm like, is there anything else
that we can do that I'm horrible? Back, Let's go
talk to girls or dance, because I'm not too good
at those things either.

Speaker 6 (11:32):
Greg Warred, our guest. He also works in coalition with
Nate MARGETSI. I'm learning the pronunciation of that as we
go because it's something Jimmy Fallon also got ron, which
makes me feel not quite as bad. But Nate as
the producer, the executive producer of the champ And that's
the comedy special you can catch on YouTube. Greg, take
us to the here and now of your career doing

(11:52):
this special where it goes from here? What formative experiences
you feel we're really your big break working with Nate,
other things along those lines. But what was that kind
of I've made it moment or this is the big time?
That moment where you kind of were aware of where
you were and that you were.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
Doing it big.

Speaker 4 (12:10):
It's this radio interview, right, sure it is. This is
when it all came together.

Speaker 3 (12:18):
That's awesome. Wow, sarendipity baby.

Speaker 4 (12:21):
Yeah, man, I I write about minutes. I think around
the fourth minute, I was like, you know, I think
I might have made it.

Speaker 3 (12:28):
This is the big time, And I don't know if
you could.

Speaker 4 (12:31):
I don't know if you get sense we're just getting
slightly more arrogant throughout this phone call.

Speaker 6 (12:36):
Well, it's just matching the altitude here, which is it's
got to be the highest altitude you will have aired
this morning when you recorded these all in a row.

Speaker 3 (12:45):
So we appreciate that very much.

Speaker 5 (12:47):
Greg, I think I had.

Speaker 4 (12:48):
A Colorado Springs phone call. I don't know.

Speaker 6 (12:51):
Oh oh, we got to compare elevations there. We're going
to get down to business brass tacks. There a final question, Greg,
I know you got to let you go, but what
people expect I got?

Speaker 4 (13:00):
I got a phone call with the radio sision on
K two?

Speaker 5 (13:04):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (13:05):
Or is that with K ten?

Speaker 4 (13:07):
K two? Is that what it's called?

Speaker 3 (13:09):
Don't know, but good luck with that one.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
J I blew that ruin.

Speaker 4 (13:15):
I swear there's a mountain called K two or K
ten or something and I just blew the Joe.

Speaker 3 (13:20):
I think you're just smarter than me.

Speaker 4 (13:22):
I mean that.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
Made you unmade it.

Speaker 6 (13:24):
Well, let's let's give you a chance to nail the
dismount here. Gymnastics maybe another sport that you're not so
good at. I don't know, but we're going to figure
it out. When people tune in on YouTube to watch
the champ what sort of thing can they count on?

Speaker 3 (13:36):
Because one of those things that you said.

Speaker 6 (13:38):
That I really appreciate and admire is a comedian that
can do it clean and be very funny. I think
of guys like Jim Gaffigan, Jerry Seinfeld. Now people can
be funny and be blue as well. I just think
it it requires a lot more craftsmanship, if that makes sense,
to do it the way you Andnate do it. What
can families expect when they watch your program?

Speaker 4 (13:59):
Well, I mean, you know you can watch this special
with with your your kids or your grandma, and uh
you know, I I I think you'll laugh at it.

Speaker 3 (14:10):
The mission, the materials.

Speaker 4 (14:11):
That's the one thing about comics like, man, I tested
this for two years on the road, so I didn't
put stuff in there that didn't work. So I think
you're going to find something funny within the fifty minutes.
And I think I want people to watch it with
their kids or with their grandma, you know. I want
it to be sort of a family thing. That's what
what Nate wants from his brand, you know. And uh,

(14:34):
I don't want it to be uh lame, you know,
it doesn't have an edge to it. Yeah, you know,
you know there's there's stuff that I say, it's probably
a little mean or you know, pointed, but uh yeah, man,
I think people will have a good time with it.
And I there's there's a plenty of craftsmanship that goes
into your dirty comedy. I some of my favorite comics

(14:54):
are dirty there there. David Tell's a genius and he's
a little these old, earlier than I am.

Speaker 3 (15:00):
But it's just a difference. It's just different.

Speaker 4 (15:02):
It's not that one brand is better than the other.
But yeah, I do think that sometimes stand up comedy
you can't appreciate it until you're you know, eighteen years old,
and now I think you can and.

Speaker 6 (15:15):
You could appreciate The Champ streaming for free on YouTube.
It's out there right now. Log on through the app
on your phone however you want to watch it. Greg
Warren joining us here on Ryan Schrewling Low. Greg, thank
you so much for your time, and next year we'll
get you on the tour around here to Denver.

Speaker 4 (15:29):
That'd be awesome. Man. I really enjoyed talking to you. Man,
thank you for having me on.

Speaker 3 (15:33):
Well.

Speaker 6 (15:33):
A couple of postscripts in my conversation with Greg Warren.
Hope you check out that YouTube special. It's free. Why
wouldn't you get on the app? You can connect it
through your TV. Even I can figure that part out.

Speaker 3 (15:43):
If I can do it, you can do it.

Speaker 6 (15:45):
It's called the Champ. That's Greg Warren. He works with
Nate Barghetzi, so he's got an A in the name.
I wanted to say Bargotzi, and so did Jimmy Fallon
And that was the clip that.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
You heard there.

Speaker 6 (15:55):
But it's Bargetsy very short, a almost like an e.
Little confusing, but Nate's very funny. Might have seen specials
of his, and Greg works in coordination with Nate. They
do clean comedy. It's family friendly. Like you said, you
can watch with your kids, your grandma, maybe both, maybe both,
And if it's funny for your grandma and your kids,
I think Greg Warren might be cooking with gas. But

(16:15):
a couple of follow ups, He's right, This was not
the highest elevation interview he did this morning.

Speaker 3 (16:21):
It was Colorado Springs. They are higher down there, and
that might be a metaphor.

Speaker 6 (16:25):
It might not a little over six thousand feet down
there in the springs that we're almost exactly one mile
high here in Denver, and I consider it like you know,
the front Range, not as you were ascending into Evergreen,
anything along those lines. So appreciate Greg's time and looking
forward to watching that special myself, and you can text
in five seven, seven, three nine you reaction to anything

(16:46):
you've heard today? Got a couple as I mentioned regarding
weston him or his appearance. This young man is really
running to some tough times now, whether or not he
is personally responsible for the content that went out there.
You heard his side of it. I wanted to get
his side of it. But there are plenty of those
who have reached out to me and names you would
know that are contending. No, he's his own worst enemy.

(17:09):
This is his own doing, and he's got nobody blamed
on himself. So is he a political target?

Speaker 3 (17:15):
Was this done with malice? A forethought?

Speaker 6 (17:18):
They're investigating it, and President Trump has just signed into law,
as I mentioned, to take it Down Act.

Speaker 3 (17:24):
A couple of responses though, five seven, seven thirty nine.

Speaker 6 (17:27):
Talking about Weston, he was barred from the Colorado Young
Republicans and High School Republicans for texting the link to
his grinder account asking for nudes. Now, I think his claim,
as I recall, was that he didn't do any of that,
and someone posing as him did that with a political
agenda to bring him down. I'm just restating what he

(17:47):
told me a separate text here. His removal was not mysterious.
The Youth Advisory Committee has not been an active committee
for more than a year. With the RNC, he was
removed for using the title and RNC branding to raise
money illegally for their pack. So some aspersions being cast,
to put it mildly, and those are obviously some pretty

(18:09):
strong allegations as well. We'll take this time on when
we come back. Representative Congressman Gave Evans joins us. There's
another Democrat joining the race along with you, Derek Caravale,
and we'll get an update on President Trump's big beautiful bill.

Speaker 3 (18:24):
Where does this stand? Stay tuned.

Speaker 6 (18:31):
That's the state Representative Shannon Bird, Democrat District twenty nine
and the Colorado General Assembly Democrats.

Speaker 3 (18:37):
They lie as easily as they breathe.

Speaker 6 (18:39):
They get favorable media coverage across the landscape and spectrum,
just dropping bombs one after the other there, and she
alleges that well, Representative Gabe Evans, Colorado's eighth congressional district,
is hiding. Well, I got to tell you personally, he's
doing a terrible job of hiding because I found him.

Speaker 3 (18:56):
He's right here.

Speaker 6 (18:57):
Congressman Gabe Evans joins us on Ryan Schuling Live. Congressman,
thank you for your time, as always.

Speaker 5 (19:02):
Always good to be on with you. Ran.

Speaker 3 (19:06):
What's your response to what you just heard from Shannon Bird?

Speaker 5 (19:10):
Well, you know, we're actually doing another telephone town hall
tonight to go reach out and talk to hundreds of
folks about the good things that we're doing in Congress.
We're securing the border. We just came out of a
briefing where we talked about the numbers on the border.
We got an all time or close to an all
time historic low of folks crossing the border. And what
that means is that we've been able to free up

(19:30):
resources for our law enforcement agencies to actually be able
to focus on the drug dealers that are dealing fentanyl
and dealing poison into our communities at a rate that
is killing the September eleventh deaththole every fifteen days. But
we are bringing the resources to be able to crack
down on that, to be able to make communities safer,
to be able to secure our border, and to be

(19:50):
able to lower the cost of living by empowering American
producers to actually go out and do what they do
best rather than being smothered by all the red tape
and regulation that's choked our economy for the last four years.
Those are the things that we're doing in Congress, and
we are making sure that Americans and working families do
not experience the largest tax increase in American history by

(20:13):
making sure that we get this Reconciliation bill passed out
of the House.

Speaker 6 (20:16):
One of the difficult things about being in the US
House of Representatives, GAB is that you're constantly in campaign mode.
You have to be, because it's every two years, and
here we go again as soon as that calendar flips
twenty twenty six, and probably even before that, you're having
to kind of plan for a campaign and running again,
defending your seat, running for reelection. So I'm just going
to have you put this hat on, and it's going

(20:37):
to be difficult to think in the mind of a Democrat. However,
on that party side, they're trying to come up with
a candidate to oppose you. Derek Caraveo, I noticed is
back in the race, trying to reclaim her seats like
a heavyweight fight, thrill in Manila, maybe getting a third
crack at it herself.

Speaker 3 (20:52):
And then Shannon Bird enters the race. And from the
sounds of it, for these.

Speaker 6 (20:56):
Two individuals, Derek Caravale, we talked about this, you and
me during the latter stages of that campaign. She was
moving as quickly to the right and trying to poison
position herself in the middle to appeal to the voters
of the eighth as possible. And I don't know where
Shannon Bird comes in if she's trying to run to
Caravel's left. What do you make of your competition, your opposition,

(21:17):
and how they're trying to run against you.

Speaker 5 (21:20):
Well, it doesn't really matter who's running against me from
the Democrats side, because they are all united in doubling
down on.

Speaker 4 (21:26):
Their far left views.

Speaker 5 (21:28):
Look no further than what's happening in California and Minnesota.
Governor Gavin Newsom out in California is saying, well, you
know what, maybe we actually shouldn't take taxpayer dollars and
give it to illegal immigrants for health care and let
them cut in line in front of Americans who actually
need health care. Tim Waaltz, governor up in Minnesota, is
saying the same thing. And Colorado is doubling down on

(21:50):
taking taxpayer money and allowing illegal immigrants to cut in
line to get health care ahead of pregnant women, ahead
of kids, ahead of people with disabilities. This is an
absolute disastrous policy, but the Democrats can't seem to wrap
their minds around the fact that giving free well and
that's not free, it's taxpayer money two illegal immigrants for

(22:11):
healthcare is.

Speaker 4 (22:12):
A terrible idea.

Speaker 3 (22:13):
Colorado is further left than.

Speaker 5 (22:15):
California right now, and we're fighting back against that stuff
in Congress right now.

Speaker 6 (22:18):
Representative Gabe Evans, eighth Congressional District joining us here on
Ryan Schuling Live. It brings me to this talking point
of topic. It really grinds my gears, Gabe, when I
hear this. But there's only one response to it. It
was at the very beginning of Shannon Bird's ad that
you are draconian and you are looking to cut Medicare, Medicaid,
social security for hard working Americans. Here's President Trump earlier

(22:42):
today coming out of a meeting with you GOP members
of Congress answering Manu Raju on the report that Trump
told you guys, don't f with medicaid.

Speaker 3 (22:51):
Here was the President's response, don't.

Speaker 7 (22:55):
Have with medicaid.

Speaker 6 (22:56):
You can say in the.

Speaker 2 (22:57):
Room, there is no confirm. Republican Book Center job.

Speaker 1 (23:02):
Hal that the impact benefit and it announces to what
he didn't attack on you.

Speaker 2 (23:10):
What you want to say that.

Speaker 7 (23:13):
The fraud and abuse for Medicaid. If you find waste
for fraud or abuse, we want to strengthen Medicaid. We
want to strengthen Medicare, waste, fraud and abuse. The Democrats
will let the illegals be on, They'll destroy it. They
will be destroyed.

Speaker 2 (23:32):
They want to have illegal immigrants.

Speaker 7 (23:33):
Be of And if you do that, because I said
the wig, the designs of that waste.

Speaker 6 (23:39):
Fraud pear Congressman Evans, did President Trump tell you don't
f with Medicaid?

Speaker 5 (23:46):
He was very very clear in the message that you
just heard, which is we are cutting waste, fraud and
abuse from the program. But guess what, under the Republican plan,
Medicaid spending actually goes up about twenty five in the
next ten years. We're not cutting anything. We are making
sure that the program is not having one point four

(24:07):
million illegal immigrants. That's the official number from the Congressional
Budgeting Office. We're making sure the program doesn't have one
point four million illegal immigrants cutting in line and stealing
American taxpayer health care dollars. We're making sure that one
point two million again another official number, one point two
million ineligible people don't get Medicaid benefits by taking common

(24:29):
sense measures to just clean up the Medicaid roles. And
we're asking able bodied, working aged adults with no kids
to work or volunteer or go to school part time.
If they're going to receive taxpayer funded healthcare. I have
to work for my healthcare. Every job I've had, I've
had to work for my healthcare. Those are the things
that we're doing in Medicaid. Again, spending will go up

(24:51):
twenty five percent under the Republican Plan, and we will
strengthen the program for the people who most need it
by cutting out the fraud, waste, and abuse that we've outlined.

Speaker 6 (25:00):
So wait a minute, Gabe, I've been reliably told by
your fellow colleague from Colorado Congresswoman Diana to get that
you are going to steal Grandma's Medicaid check.

Speaker 5 (25:11):
Patently false. We are actually making sure that that check
is there and available by cutting out all of Again,
we just outlined all of the different ways that the
system is not working. We're going to continue to protect
the system by cutting out of legal immigrants and eligible people,
and by again, the Republican Plan increases spending for Medicaid

(25:33):
by twenty five percent.

Speaker 6 (25:34):
So reverse engineering this, Gabe, And this is something you
did very well in dismantling your dear Caraveo in debates.

Speaker 3 (25:40):
I mean it was not even a close call.

Speaker 6 (25:42):
The only explanation then, if represented to get If other Democrats,
which are making these kind of crocodile tears, Shannon Bird
and others are saying, oh, Republicans are going to cut Medicaid,
then the only explanation for that is they support the
funding of Medicaid, social Security, and metaal care for illegal
aliens in the United States.

Speaker 5 (26:02):
Yes, not only that, they're the ones that are actually
asking to cut Medicaid the governor's request. So Medicaid again,
as a partnership, federal government writes a big part of
the check. The states kick in some money. The states
are the ones that administer the Medicaid program. In Colorado,
this is Colorado specific data that governor's request to the
Joint Budget Committee actually called for cutting Medicaid. Why because

(26:26):
they don't have enough money to cover Medicaid and continue
funding illegal immigrants. It's estimated fifty one million Colorado again,
Colorado specific numbers. Now, fifty one million Colorado taxpayer dollars
this year will go toward healthcare for illegal immigrants. That's
the honest to gosh budgetary facts of what the Democrats

(26:47):
are doing. And we are making sure that we protect
Americans and put them first.

Speaker 6 (26:51):
Here in Congress, Congressman Gabe Evans, eighth Congressional joining us
and doing a great job in his freshman campaign. Final
question on what's going on there right now for me,
Congressman Evans, and that is the.

Speaker 3 (27:03):
Status of the big beautiful bill.

Speaker 6 (27:05):
We know there's been some wrangling behind the scenes when
it comes to spending cuts or the tax cuts or
Republicans will be on board to pass. And I know
that's part of why the President came to talk to
you guys today. What's your kind of scouting report on
where it stands right now and how quickly you think
it might get passed.

Speaker 5 (27:22):
Yeah, that's the two thoughts there. Number One, we're going
to pass the bill. We've got to pass the bill,
because here's the alternative. Americans are facing the largest tax
increase in history if we don't pass this. The average
Colorado family of four, we'll see their federal taxes go
up by over two thousand dollars if we don't extend
the Trump Tax Cuts and Jobs Acts. And that, by

(27:43):
the way, that affects the bottom eighty four percent of
people of wage earners in Colorado. We're extending the standard
deduction so millionaires itemize. We're not doing anything with that
we're extending the standard deduction, which impacts the bottom eighty
four percent of wage journers. For the average family of

(28:03):
four in Colorado, that reduces their federal tax burden by
over two thousand dollars. We're making sure that small businesses
have a level playing field with the big corporations by
making sure that their tax rate doesn't double. We're protecting
again those working families by making sure that the child
tax credit, which is currently a two thousand dollars doesn't
get cut in half down to one thousand dollars. So

(28:25):
that's why I'm confident that we're going to get this
piece of legislation passed. And you know, anything that's worth
doing is quite often difficult in doing so, we're continuing
to negotiate and fine tune the details and make sure
that this is the absolute best product that it can be.
But at the end of the day, we're going to
get it across.

Speaker 4 (28:43):
The finish line.

Speaker 6 (28:44):
Congressman Evans, I got a report and a lot of
text coming, and I think that's good news. I'm going
to combine these three all from three different area codes,
all the same topic energy for you to respond however
you'd like and they read as follows, can you thank
Congressman Gabe Evans for his support for innerergy tax credits
and ask him if he would be a co sponsor
or Congresswoman Kiggins certainty for our Energy Future Act that

(29:06):
supports these credits. So answer to that one first, I
guess game.

Speaker 5 (29:10):
Yeah, So Congresswoman and Kiggins and I we've already partnered
before to make sure that we're protecting an all of
the above energy strategy, which as you know, is absolutely
critical for my district. The fact is we're going to
need three times as much electricity in the next ten
years as we currently have, so we have to be
looking at all of the above sources as long as
they're safe, affordable, and reliable. And toward that end, Congresswoman

(29:33):
Kiggins and we've already partnered up once to she authored
the letter. I was one of the co signers to
the letter talking about preserving some of these tax credits,
and so I'm sure we'll continue to work together to
make sure that we advocate for those because at the
end of the day, that keeps rates low for our consumers,
and that's what we're all about, is putting more money

(29:53):
back in our consumers and our constituent pockets.

Speaker 6 (29:56):
And finally, you mentioned all of above strategy on energy,
these two about nuclear, can you have him talk about
the tax credits. Also, hearing talks about nuclear energy coming
to Colorado, can you go into more detail with what
you know? And then also along those lines, is it
true Colorado will use nuclear energy as a renewable energy source?

Speaker 3 (30:14):
Representative Evans, Yeah, So.

Speaker 5 (30:16):
That one was actually a state law that was passed
earlier this year that says it opens the door for
trying to bring some nuclear back to Colorado. Which, again,
when we're gonna need three times as much electricity in
the next ten years as we have right now, we
have to make sure that we are doubling down on
all of the above forms of energy so that we

(30:36):
can meet our growing demand, so that we can have
the electrical resources there for jobs, for industry, for job growth,
for economic growth, and ultimately, at the end of the day,
to make sure that we can keep the lights on
and the prices low for everyday.

Speaker 3 (30:51):
Colorado's follow him on exit. Rep.

Speaker 6 (30:54):
Gabe Evans, he joins us here on Ryan Schuling Live.
Always appreciate his time. I know you're really busy Congressman,
So thank you for that and we'll talk again soon thought.

Speaker 5 (31:02):
I'm always love being on with you, all right, Congressman.

Speaker 6 (31:04):
Game Evans five seven seven three nine, rounding out a

Speaker 2 (32:15):
Nice facilities, excellent snackmark.

Speaker 6 (32:19):
George went passing away today at the age of seventy six.
Of course famously there as Norm from Cheers and Sheriff
Steve Riams and I are the same age I was
talking about. Was there ever a better entrance to a
show than Norman Cheers. Nah.

Speaker 9 (32:31):
That was one of my favorite shows as a kid,
and Norman was obviously one of my favorite characters. There's
actually a guy that listens to your show quite a
bit that we call Cliffy. He's the police chief in Dacono.
So hopefully he's listening right now and gets the connection.

Speaker 3 (32:44):
Sureff have all those factoids and information. He is so
full of useless information.

Speaker 9 (32:51):
That's how you got Cliffe.

Speaker 6 (32:52):
Yeah, so we lose George went today very sad. And
of course the Bear's sketches. I might dig one of
those up for the show. Sheriff Steve Rieams of course
