Speaker 1 (00:00):
And stepping in for Deborah Flora and Christian Toto on
the right side of Hollywood. We send you into your
weekend with this hour of Ryan Schuling Live. You can
text throughout the program. Five seven seven thirty nine. You
heard those two vote on our Friday Fool of the Week.
Your choices are Rosie O'Donnell Aquem Jeffrey's Kamala Harris, each
going in different disparate directions, and you can send those
(00:22):
votes along to five seven seven three nine. We will
tally those up by the end of the show and
deliver to you fresh hot off the presses our Friday
fool of the Week. Zax seegers alongside always appreciate his
help on the other side of the glass. And it
will shock you to your core to learn that there's
another controversy coming out of the Jeff Coo Public schools.
(00:43):
I know it is very alarming Jeff co GOP putting
this out. Parents deserve transparency, students deserve protection. Today seventh
graders and jeffco schools were given the twenty twenty five
Healthy Kids Survey. That sounds and yes, in enough we
want of kids to be healthy, right, we can give
(01:04):
them a little survey say with it doing they eating
too many sugar cereals? You know tricks are for kids,
but they shouldn't only eat tricks. A lot of colors
and nys in there, and then RFK juniors looking to
weed out and they're gonna be very bland in color
once he does. Continuing though, this is again twenty twenty
five Healthy Kids Survey. All right, nothing wrong with that
quote without clear parental notice, without full disclosure of the content,
(01:27):
and without a straightforward opt out. A video promoting transgender
ideology was also shown here and again with this crap.
This is not informed consent, This is not parental partnership.
We must stand up for every jeff Co parent and
student demanding accountability. It's time to elect new Board of
(01:48):
Education leaders who respect families, uphold values, and restore trust
in our classrooms. November matters. Let's take back our school. Well,
it sure does, and this will be on your ballot
no matter where you live, especially if you live in Jeffco.
Joining us now. She's the one that posted this first
at the Jeffco Kids First Facebook page, of which I
(02:09):
am a part and of which you can join. Lindsay
Dentco our guest on Ryan Shuling Live. Lindsay, welcome back.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
Hey, thank you.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
It's always something, eh.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Always something every day.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
Now I want to get your thoughts on this specific
egregious act because it seems so preventable. I saw this
exchange between you and George Brockler. He's the DA in
the twenty third district, that's Douglas County. However, he grew
up in Jeffco. So he's asking you questions back and forth.
Here says how does a parent get them in advance?
You reply to that. George goes on to ask it
(02:41):
appears that the required notice does not detail what is
to be asked, but merely reasons for the survey? What
am I not seeing? Why not just email the survey
to the parents? What is the downside of that? That's
a great question, Lindsay, I'm going to start there. If
this survey is so important, so valuable, so beneficial for
the kids, why wasn't it sent to the parents?
Speaker 2 (03:02):
Really good question, and you know that's why we have
had to fight a little bit through open records to
get a list of the schools and dates that they
will be taking in them, which should be very transparent
and available through public record, we've been able to put
those out to our nine thousand members. But you know, Ryan,
(03:22):
looking back at the history of how this all came about,
jeff CO has an old graphic that shows that they
had only four hundred kids, often in one of the
early years of this survey, and that affected their ability
to get it grant as well as the Jefferson County
(03:43):
Public Health And so I think that's why we see
the difference between Doug CO getting the opt in requirement
and jeff CO moving to the opt out. It is
absolutely directly tied to funding and grant processes.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
And as far as I think this is going to
be the concern that a lot of those on the
left that support this kind of cover of darkness, cloak
and dagger treatment of an issue topic like this would
be that, Hey, we need to protect kids who may
be trans from parents who may not approve of that,
and in so doing, it is the noblest of causes
(04:22):
that we might provide them a survey in which they
could silently say, hey, look, my parents don't know about it,
but i'm trans. Is there any grounds for that, I'm
talking legal or otherwise, which would have justified withholding said,
survey from the parents.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
Oh oh, parents absolutely have the legal right to opt
out of the survey because of the.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
From so no.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
Absolutely, parents have to be given two weeks notice based
on Cynthia Coffmant decision. And we're seeing tiny little links
in weekly school emails that aren't extremely transparent and that's
extremely frustrating and alarming the parents when their kids come
home or send them texts from classing. They were just
(05:10):
asked many questions, invasive questions on gender identity, sexual violence,
sexual health, body image, racism. The list goes on and on.
The transparency is going to road trust, whether they want
admit it or not.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
Lindsay Deco is the founder of jeff Co Kids First.
She does amazing work in that community. Lindsay, what will
be the repercussions of this? If anything? I think part
of the frustration for those who reside in jeff Co
and send their kids to Jeffco public schools is that
this never seems to go anywhere. So on this specific case,
have you gotten any feedback, has there been any communication,
(05:48):
has there been any reasons given or any corrections made?
Speaker 2 (05:53):
Well, let me just tell your audience that this is
actually a statewide survey. This is jointly funded by the
CDC and the state's administered by the CDPH who writes
the questions, and so this is a deeply rooted survey.
It is given every two years to randomly selected middle
(06:15):
and high schools. It's very possible if your child is
in a middle or high school that they're taking this survey.
And in jeff COO right now, up until November eighteenth,
these are taking place at seventeen different schools. So it's
important to know that this is not just Jeffco. This
is statewide, that there are grant and curriculum social emotional
(06:37):
learning decisions made based off of this survey. The data
is questionable. I know in Larimer County there was a
board speech where an employee said that one half of
their students based on this survey identified as LGBTQ. If
that doesn't alarm you for how skewed this data is.
(06:57):
And so yeah, this is something everyone needs to be
aware of.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
You can easily google.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
The questions and find them, but really they should be
given in a separate email just dedicated to this survey
to every parent who child will be facing it in
a classroom.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
Now there's that piece of it. There's that element of it.
If they had just notified parents, given them the opportunity
to opt out, and been transparent about this process. Okay,
maybe we go ahead and conduct the survey with the
parents who approve. Okay, Lindsay, Dacho, our guest, Jeff, go
kids first. However, you mentioned CDC in there, did you not?
Speaker 3 (07:32):
I did?
Speaker 1 (07:32):
Okay? Hold on. So, the director, Susan Manarez, was confirmed
by the Senate July twenty twenty five, but less than
a month later, she was fired because she clashed with
HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Junior over vaccine policy. In
steps Jim O'Neil, and as of August twenty eighth of
this year, he is the acting director for the CDC. Now,
(07:55):
I don't know anything about Jim O'Neill personally. I will
be the first to admit that, Lindsay, but I have
to believe that the man he reports to RFK Junior
is not about this at all, and that this would
be administered in coalition, in partnership with the CDC. What
appear to be to me a red flag that it
was being done at all. What are your thoughts on
(08:15):
that now that there's a new sheriff in town, so
to speak, a Trump administration and RFK Junior in charge
of the HHS and Jim O'Neil as the acting director
of the CDC. How do you read that part of it?
Speaker 2 (08:27):
Well, actually, I'm glad you said that because, as you know,
as I've talked about the many sexual misconduct and abuse cases,
that has opened the door for us to the Department
of Justice and the Civil Rights Department and now connecting
with the US Department of Education. And so because we
have that open door, I plan to ensure they're aware
(08:49):
of this survey. And yeah, definitely, I just maybe from
the top. Usually we work from the bottom and very locally,
but that's an opportunity here.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
For us lesi Decho joining us. Final note here, as
we make the public aware of this issue, you're working
on something else, Lindsey, and I know the details of
this are not public yet, but to the degree that
you're able and maybe you can't share anything but that
which you emailed me, what you're investigating right now? What
can you tell us on the record if anything.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
Yeah, we have some questions about some more sexual misconduct
in JEFCO that we're looking into and Ryan, you'll be
the first to know as soon as we get that
documentation rock solid.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
Okay, and what I'm reading here, let's just say it
is going to be highly problematic, and it just adds
another log to the fire for the Jeffco Public schools
who just cannot seem to get out of their own way.
Either they're bumbling fools or they're in on it. But
like Ace Rothstein, Robert de Niro and Casino says, either way,
(09:59):
you got to go. So vote in your elections coming
up in November for school board in particular in Jeffco.
And you got to vote new people in Lindsay, will
you have a list of candidates who Jeffco Kids First
supports available and will be able to discuss that maybe
between now and November.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
You know, we don't endorse candidates, but we definitely provide
an open forum. So yes, on JEFFO Kids First. There
will be opportunity for candidates to share their platforms and
we'll try to be as transparent as possible without endorsing.
Speaker 1 (10:32):
Okay, fair enough, She's Lindsay Datko, the founder of Jeffco
Kids First. You can find their Facebook page and join it.
I highly recommend that you do. I know I participate
in it and probably support it. And lindsay, thank you
for all the great work then you do. I think
a lot that people don't even see that you do
behind the scenes, that you've alluded us to. And we
appreciate the time you spent with us here today.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
Thank you so much. As always.
Speaker 1 (10:53):
All right, Lindsay Danko, there your response, your reaction five seven,
seven thirty nine, the attacks. Let's get to some of those,
Ryan and voters and Jeff Coo continue to vote for
the same disgusting school board ideaologues year after year that
Steven Lyttleton, retired law enforcement officer, something's got to give,
something's got to change, Steve, I would hope. So there
have been so many scandals erupting out of jeffco Public schools,
(11:16):
not the least of which, if you might recall the
Columbine High School grooming incident that took place over many
years in which a fifteen year old sophomore was being
groomed by a lesbian teacher of a social studies class,
and people in power pretty much look the other way.
And I have a strong feeling that this was because
it was a lesbian dynamic. Had it been a male
(11:38):
teacher with a female student, no way in hell. And
I would even go as far to say if it
was a male teacher with a male student, that would
not have allowed to be greenlighted. But for whatever reason,
and we're getting to the details on this, and we
still haven't really gotten to the bottom of it, that
was allowed to continue. And what eventually ended up happening
(11:59):
was this young woman, once she turned eighteen, fled the state.
The teacher had parted ways with the school districts under
interesting circumstances, relocated to California, and the young woman who
was groomed from the age of fifteen as a sophomore
in high school, moved to California to live with that teacher.
You tell me we're in that equation. That's right. It
(12:20):
is not right. Five seven, seven thirty nine got some
votes for our Friday fool of the Week. We can
submit those as well. We know that Joseph voted for
Rosie O'Donnell and Jody voted for Kamala Harris. Here's another
vote for the former vice president, Kamala Harris. Always Kamala Harris.
I think everyone would love if you brought back Leland's
(12:41):
drunk Kamala. Funny you mentioned that and bring that up
because Jody and I were talking about that during the
break that somebody, I don't know if it's Leland, but
it is something he would do. It is his m
O got into the reading of that book one hundred
and seven days. Kamala Harris going on the book tour
and she the book for books on tape, audio, audible, whatever,
(13:03):
and then somebody got into that audio and slowed it
down to much comic effect. Frandy says, fool of the
week is Kamala yet again. Rosie a close second. Okay,
we'll notate your votes there, Alexa voting for Kamala. This
has become a runaway. If you want to change the
race and vote for Rosie or Hakeem Jeffries, you can
do it. Five seven seven three nine. Ryan, they mentioned
(13:25):
today that Diddy is scared for his life in prison.
All of Bieber's fans, I'm sure have dads in that
same prison. Hmmm hmm, from that same texter. There is
no corroboration for the I mean, okay, there's I don't
know what's going on here, but Texter says, and I
(13:45):
want to put it out there. I'm not gonna avoid
reading text. Diddy's gay, so are his sons. And they
did something to Justin Bieber that I can't say on
the air. I know Bieber has been cited as a
victim in all of this, and my strong suspicion is
to believe that he is as Justin Bieber commented publicly
on any of this, Zach, to your knowledge, I'm not
sure how tuned in you are to that, but I
(14:06):
haven't seen that either, So Zach's shaking his head. No
if you are aware of any comment on the record,
and maybe maybe he'll talk now that the case has
resolved and Diddy has been sentenced to four years and
two months in prison, for which I'm not sure how
much time served already will apply, or if he'll be
eligible for early release parole good behavior, or if there's
(14:28):
you know, there's very little truth in sentencing anymore. We've
talked about that with George Brockler, so I guess we'll
have to kind of wait and see how that plays out. Ryan,
that drunken hyena comment had me laughing so hard I
almost had an accident. You can't be that funny while
people are driving. What's wrong with y'all? You can blame
Jody Calm for that. She was not so calm there.
We had to dump an F bomb from her the
(14:50):
first hour. Zach Johnny on the spot, Well done, sir.
It's a Friday. You know you kinda loose. You're like, ah,
I gotta hit dump. She only got out like half
the word out, but it was enough to HiPE, that's
late clean. So yeah, thanks for that. Jody playing the
room blue, we talked about that too, talked about watching
Comedians and Cars with Coffee. One of my all time
favorite episodes. Jerry Seinfeld with the Norm McDonald and they're
(15:13):
in a car and they're talking about you know, blue comedy,
blue meaning using profanity, vulgarity, and that they really wanted
to make an effort, Jerry in particular, but he made
that impression upon Norm. You know, you don't want to
really throw in profanity, just willy nilly, and maybe he
use it once here and there. For a fact, I
think even Seinfeld does that. But Norm learned early on
(15:34):
like he didn't want to do dirty so called comedy,
and he thought it benefited him and that they preferred
clean comedy and that they had more respect for clean comics.
And to that point, Rodney Dangerfield one of the all
time greats. Dan Kaplis's favorite. He never really played the
room blue. He was on Johnny Carson a bunch of times,
did a bunch of material. It was appropriate for television
(15:55):
and the airwaves, and was funny, was dropped dead funny,
one hit after the other. One of the all time
great's Rodney Dangerfield. And what Norman Jerry talk about in
this episode I would recommend you watch it's on Netflix,
is that Rodney went to Vegas and then he changed
his whole kind of shtick in his style. He started
wearing like Hawaiian shirts. This is like late nineties, early
(16:15):
two thousands, just prior to his death, and he started
using profanity, and both Norman and Jerry thought that that
didn't work for him, and it actually it kind of
took away from Rodney's charm and his personality and that
sort of thing. So just a couple of comics, one
of the two of the all time best commenting on
one of their mentors. Let's see any other texts here,
Ryan Drunk on Red Wine Kamala Is it red or
(16:39):
is it white? Is it Pino noir or is it
pinal grege? That bears investigation and I will look into
it for you. Ryan, please slow down Kamala's voice on
that bit. A lot of people calling for the drunken Kamala.
You know, I don't like to steal bits. I might,
in consultation with Leland try to come up with something
for you guys. But that's a Leland Conway original, just
(17:03):
like the Twisted View was and is, and I want
to make sure that I promote my friend and the
former host in this time slot. They do I think
a weekly version up at the Independence Institute around like
a poker table, and it's unfortunate because I can't get
up there to participate in it because of the time
that they record it conflicts with my preparation for this program.
But you'll see such luminaries as John Caldera, Benjamin Olbright,
(17:25):
Christian Toto. Really great time, really great show, just like
it always was, but a video element added to it
as well. So I highly recommend you search for and
find that. Make sure you're following Leland Conway on the
interwebs and on the X. Ryan Rosie was called the
ugliest woman in the world. Of course it needs therapy
(17:45):
only only Rosie O'Donnell. That's a Trump quote. Now that's
not nice. I don't like, you know, I'm picking on
people for immutable characteristics that they can't help or they
didn't decide upon, or you know, they were they were.
It's like the hotel worker in This is Spinal Tap
and they get the rooms wrong and Ian comes up
to the desk and they're trying to sort it out,
(18:07):
and then the members of the band, you know, make
fun of the guy's appearance, and he's I am as
God made me, and it's just it's kind of a sweet,
sad thing that he says he is, you know, And
don't pick on the guy. Ryan. Lenny Bruce was such
a rebel. He played at Carnegie Hall. Tony is a
three dollar bill, nothing but a drug addict. Ooh, some
Lenny Bruce heat coming in. That's a ninety nine mile
(18:31):
an hour fastball right under the chin. Lenny Bruce is
depicted in The Marvelous Missus Masel If you've watched that show,
I actually rather enjoy that. I think it was on
Amazon Prime. If I'm recalling correctly off the top of
my head, and I don't know. Lenny Bruce is a
hero to many, oh, one of the original og comics.
I'm talking prior to even George Carlin, Richard Tryer, that
(18:52):
generation of comedians coming up, and you know, nobody's a
bigger fan of comedians stand up comedians than yours. Truly
not familiar as much with Lenny Bruce because he was
so long ago, but he did die due to drug
addiction and that was very sad, very young too. I
think around the age of forty a time out back
with more Ryan schuling live after this, decided to.
Speaker 4 (19:17):
Bring into our attention and make a big deal out
of this. So if we became involved and became very
concerned about how.
Speaker 1 (19:23):
It was going to affect our team scusially my staff
and how they felt about.
Speaker 4 (19:28):
It and the other patroes within our building, because we
will absolutely accept everybody that was to come in here
in the tower space. They decided they were to hand
out flyers personal slander towards myself. If they are, I'm
happy with the group that is here, that's a perfectly fine.
Speaker 3 (19:46):
I hold the support their.
Speaker 4 (19:49):
Right to peaceful protests and to express their opinions as
long as it doesn't have a next came back to
the users, which of course it will. When you started
bringing up and easing crazy, unbelievable words to assess somebody.
Speaker 3 (20:05):
They don't even know who I am.
Speaker 1 (20:06):
No my dame to know who we are. As I've seen,
all Paul Porter wants to do is ron a bar
restaurant and you can hear the bowling in the background. Establishment.
It's a great one, looks fantastic for everyone to enjoy.
Called the Works in wheat Ridge, and there was a
private group that came in that wanted to have a gathering.
I'm eating great. He didn't ask about who they were,
(20:27):
what their politics were, didn't care as long as they
showed up, behaved themselves, didn't use it as like a
political rally. Well, some leftists caught wind of what was
going on there and didn't much care for the people
that had gathered, and then tried to label Paul Porter
himself with all these nasty names, passing out flyers demonstrating
outside and he joins us now to talk more about
(20:48):
it in greater detail here on Ryan Schuling Live. Paul,
thank you so much for taking the time.
Speaker 3 (20:54):
Thanks for having us so much appreciated, Paul.
Speaker 1 (20:57):
I guess just start from the beginning. This was from
a video the sound that I played that was featured
by libs of TikTok Shy a write check. But just
from your perspective, what began here and how did it
all go sideways?
Speaker 3 (21:11):
So we heavily support the community down here in wheat
Ridge and really the entire different area. The Leavers baseball team.
One of the mothers for one of the teammates, we
spoused them last year. They came in, had a great time.
One of the mothers asked us if she could make
a reservation for a group of about fourty to fifty people,
(21:32):
which of course we were very happy to that's the
whole point of networking. They made the reservation, thought nothing.
Not About a week prior to the event, we started
getting all kinds of emails, phone calls, slanderous this and that,
asking my teammates, basically my teammates asking my staff if
they knew that we were hosting a party for Nazis,
(21:54):
people who don't support nine to eleven and all this stuff,
and it just it was unbelievable to me. I mean,
I've been in this industry six years, I've never seen
anything like it, So naturally I reach out to the
girl hosting the event. I said, hey, what's going on here?
Do you know these people? She has no idea, So
basically I told her, you know, this can't be a rally.
(22:14):
You're more than welling to have your event, but there's
no there's no signings, there's no speakers, there's none of
that stuff. Just had to meet have a great time.
And she said, absolutely, Paul, if you don't want to
have the event, I'll cancel it right now. I said, well,
that's probably not the right thing to do, because I
would welcome anybody in the space and for somebody else
to come in and bully us and tell us we
cannot do that it's unacceptable based on their religious and
(22:35):
political beliefs. So that's how it has pretty much how
it went down.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
And then, Paul, you had some protesters show up outside
your establishment and they had some rather inflammatory remarks to
make about you personally. Can you share with us what
those were?
Speaker 5 (22:52):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (22:53):
So the signings that they had was very poorly written.
You couldn't even really read it. There were some bolm
flags and some of the stuff. There's only seven or
eight people out there, and one of them, we read
this on Reddit later that one of them was very
proud that they infult traded our space, which is not
hard to do with open doors, and laid a flyer
(23:17):
out on the table and the flyer specifically said the
works on it is owned. The works is owned by
a MAGA supporter, that we build ourselves family friendly, but
we support toxic ideology like massage, the racism violences in
a phobia, homophobia, Christian nationalism, fascism, and pedophilia. So they
don't even know my name, they certainly don't know who
(23:39):
I am. And to slander myself personally and my business,
I mean, shame on them. Absolutely. I support they write
to protest and if they want to protest the group,
and you know that's protecting the constitution. I support that
one hundred percent for them to And ironically, it was
my son that found that flyer out it to my attention.
(24:00):
So interestingly enough, my openly gay black manager found it
as well and decided he was going to take a
picture of him go out there and talk to him.
They say, we're not going to do that. You know,
they're you know, honestly if they were to make a
reservation of my business and come in and hold the
meet and greet, I would never even know because we
refuse to vet filter or screen anybody who wants to
(24:24):
come to our business and enjoy themselves. We are a
restaurant with a bar. We have a brewing system here,
we're a brewery. We combined that with bowling and a
bike shop. It's all about having fun and it's a
social environment. So my biggest concern is that if people
think they can bully somebody into you know, filtering, who
can and come into the business. Let's just get it.
(24:44):
Let's get to it's with a smear campaign of this nature.
That's terrible for all businesses. So we went through with
it and we committed to it because it's they're not
going to stop us, that's it.
Speaker 1 (24:55):
Paul Porter is the owner of the works that's spelled
with an E. The w e r k S highly
recommend you support his establishment if you're able to make
it to wheat Ridge this weekend. I'm going to do
my level best to get there. You can find out
more online at the Works Colorado dot com The w
RKS Works Colorado dot com. You mentioned your manager, and
(25:15):
he was profiled in this video featured by Libs of
TikTok named Ash and just listen to what he had
to say. Again, this is one of Paul's managers at
the works. This is my good friend Asher.
Speaker 3 (25:26):
Here, he's a manager. That's this is a fantastic being.
Speaker 1 (25:30):
So here you go, Ash, how'd you do it?
Speaker 3 (25:31):
Boy? Yesterday? How to make you so?
Speaker 6 (25:35):
While serving the tables, I had realized have on the
Pope's paper and all that newspapers where it had all
this outline of stumb about.
Speaker 3 (25:45):
The owner of the works.
Speaker 1 (25:47):
Well, I definitely know it.
Speaker 6 (25:49):
Can't be true, because definitely said he he was a homophobe,
NAFO racist, And I'm the three of the that they
said he's not about and here I am one of
the supervisors. And that was satisfy. So maybe just do
a little fall of the free start making me a
(26:10):
fool talk about.
Speaker 3 (26:13):
It's just such a shame. These people should a shape.
So I'm start pissed.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
It's truly discussing Paul. Let me ask you this. You
know Ash is working there because he earned it and
he's a great work. He's a great manager, as you
mentioned in this video, has nothing to do with his background,
is sexual orientation anything like that. It's quite the opposite
of what you've been accused of here. How much did
it mean to you for Ash to support you the
way that he has and for him to speak out
(26:38):
about it as well.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
It's been absolutely tremendous. I mean, he is a fantastic
human being and he he loves this brand. He's a
reason why the culture in our brand is is so strong.
I think the biggest thing that that concerned me about
this entire situation was the stress it was going to
put on my team. They didn't ask for this, they
don't deserve this. We literally have every under race, ethnicity
(27:01):
you could possibly think of in this business, because that's
what a great culture is all about. And you know,
for him to have support for not just myself before
the brand and the way that he carries himself within
the business, it's tremendous and it really shows that there's,
you know, equal respect for everybody that's you know, understands
that they'res between right and wrong and what it means
(27:23):
to be just a good human being. I mean, by
part of them, it's it's really what the brand is.
We're one hundred percent a political asexual all the way through.
So he's really exemplary of that philosophy in that behavior.
So we love him. He's fantastic.
Speaker 1 (27:42):
Finally, is there an update, Paul, anything that has happened
in the aftermath of this sense it's gone viral the
video that you shot and was featured there, like I
set on x by libs of TikTok, you're doing this
interview here. Has there been any further backlash or has
it calmed down.
Speaker 3 (28:01):
As far as backlash goes, you know, we had It's
very interesting that Googled we had one hundred and forty
reviews before this all started. We were at two sixty
this morning, and apparently one hundred and twenty of those
were removed because they I'm assuming because they happened too fast.
We're getting support from all over the country, people texting,
(28:24):
you know, emailing, calling, you know, trying to donate to
our brand and make sure none of our service. I mean,
the outreach from you know, all of our supporters has
been tremendous. Some of the backlash that we've gotten, I mean,
they removed one hundred and twenty reviews off of Google,
but they left one that came three days ago and
it says the owner came out to my table personally
(28:47):
to insult my family based on the color of our skin.
I was truly appalled by the vitriolic hatred this man
had for black people. We'll never spend another diet hair
that is so outlandish, and they would allow that to
stay on there, but remove all the other five star.
I mean, first of all, three days ago, I was off.
But whatever, it's just the smear campaign and the things
(29:09):
that these people say. It's just it's clearly a bot
or somebody who created something on there. But that's the
only thing that really gets me is I think the
more attention that we have on this side, you know,
of just trying to represent our business as a brand,
it's a political we continue to get smeared. It really
almost activates the anger more. And I just don't understand
(29:33):
truly why people have to be so hateful and then
turn around and call the people that they're being hateful
towards hateful. I mean, it's the irony is disgusting. So
other than that, the support has been tremendous from everybody.
But I mean, I've got people coming in here fifteen
to twenty a day saying hey, I'm say I saw
the video. We're here to support you. Know, we appreciate
(29:53):
you guys, and that I'm blown away by the space.
So that's what we're here for. Come in, have a
great time, have a great day. If you're having a
bad day, come in. I'll fix it for you. That's
what it is. It doesn't matter what your political or
religious beliefs are, or your gender. We could care less.
That's not what we are.
Speaker 1 (30:09):

promoting this local business. He's done such great work for
the community. He hires people, he runs that business. It's
(30:30):
a twenty four to seven business, as he told me.
Paul Porter, owner of the Works, joining us here on

wish you the very best, and we're going to send

Speaker 3 (30:41):

having me on a God bless America, God Bless America.
Speaker 1 (30:47):
Indeed, he's a great guy. You don't need me to say.
You heard his own manager say it. Ash stood right
by his side in the light of all these slanderous
accusations and labels that were thrown at him. Just terrible.
The work in wheat Ridge. Folks head there this weekend.
Let's give them more business. Thing can handle a time out.
We're wrapping it all up on this Friday edition of
(31:08):
Ryan Shuling Live. After this Friday Fool of the Week
on this October three, the first Friday in the tenth
month of the year, Zach seegers alongside. Appreciate his help.
Appreciate Paul Porter joining us, owner of the works in Wheatridge.
We'll have more on that in just a moment. Our
(31:30):
Friday Fool of the Week was a runaway winner, winner
in quotes, and it's a repeat winner. The Vice President
of the United States, former Kamala Harris.
Speaker 7 (31:39):
You know, one of my favorite things to see, and
it would always happen spontaneously at our rallies, and thousands
of people would come and there it would happen is
invariably somebody would want me to take a picture of
a husbear child, uh huh, and someone in the back
(32:00):
would hand that baby.
Speaker 1 (32:01):
Over through the crowd, the crowd to you people who would.
Speaker 5 (32:09):
Past the baby, the baby, and then past the baby.
And I don't know, there was something about that when
it would happen. I mean, I could get very emotional
about it right now, but but but you know, I
believe that we should always feel that, you know, the
the children of the community are.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
The children all of us, that our leaders, and that.
Speaker 5 (32:36):
We all participate in caring about that child and in
caring for that child.
Speaker 1 (32:44):
And there was just something about that baby travel from
the parents.
Speaker 5 (32:49):
Trusted the stranger that was next to them, who trusted
the next person, and all of them as though it
was their own child. There was something so so magical
in many ways about that and about affirming about you
can create an environment where people feel safe and feel
(33:10):
a sense of communal responsibility and community.
Speaker 1 (33:14):
Yeah, congratulations, question Mark Kamala Harris our Friday Full of
the Week This Texter Ryan, I used to live in
