Ryan is flying the plane solo, and takes off on the Left forcing pornographic literature and transgender procedures on innocent, impressionable, vulnerable children - all while effectively declaring all-out war on parents. The latest example is the outrageous House Bill 25-1312, 'Legal Protections for Transgender Individuals' making its way through the General Assembly.

Jimmy Sengenberger, columnist and investigative reporter for The Gazette, joins Ryan to discuss his latest: 'Colorado GOP moves past the chaos, at last' on the passing of the state party leadership mantle from Dave Williams to Brita Horn.

Colorado GOP moves past the chaos, at last | Jimmy Sengenberger | Columns | denvergazette.com

Also discussed, what South Park character did 'RINO Watch' offer up as a nickname for Jimmy? And where will his blues band finally make their debut gig?

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Is anyone around me here? I look around, I look
to my left, look back to my right.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
I do an owl.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
I do the three sixty of my head to the
best of my ability at age fifty, not great.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
And there is nobody else here.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
And I am told reliably this is not an April
Fool's joke. So to preface everything, on this day, we
have a Friday fool of the week, and it's especially
notable this week because it's during the week of April
Fools Day. So today should be the day that we
celebrate all those fools, right, And there will be nominees,

(00:35):
and many of them might be at the Colorado General
Assembly right now, and there is testimony that will be
going on regarding a bill that you're just not going
to believe. You're just not going to be able to
fathom and wrap your head around what's going on.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
But I am alone.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
I'm on an island here at six k how I
am running my own board. I am in the control room,
not the studio. I don't have a producer. There is
no Kelly. She's at home, and God bless her. Haley,
her daughter just missed the cut in her college golf tournament.
Seventeenth place sixteen top sixteen went on to the final.

(01:20):
She golfed very well, I might add, but I need
you five seven, seven, three nine, send your text the lawn.
I mean, any question that you have, I'll do my
best to answer. But there's a lot of questions today
that I'm just not going to be able to answer.
And coming up in hour number two, there will be
a theme today and it revolves around the following the left,

(01:42):
and I include Democrats in this.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Now.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
I know Dan Capolis likes to buy for Kate and
his wife is wonderful. Amy caplis legendary news anchor in
this town. Not overtly political herself, and I would say
independently minded. I don't know Amy extremely well the way
that I know Dan, but I don't think she's hard left.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
However, However, if you have.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
Democratic family members, and many of you probably do, I do. Unfortunately,
the one like minded political person my family unit talking about,
the one I grew up with, was my dearly departed mother,
and she passed away November twenty twenty two. But one
of the last things she told me when she was
healthy was that she had voted for Donald Trump. But

(02:32):
I was not to tell anyone else in the family
because my brother in particular. I'm just sharing some inside
baseball here, but I think a lot of you can relate,
and therefore I believe that this is relevant. He was
browbeating her constantly, knowing that she likely leaned toward Trump
like Trump, voted for him the first time twenty sixteen,

(02:54):
voted for him the second time twenty twenty and that
second time by one.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
But it would be the last time my mom.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
Would cast a vote before she would pass away a
couple of years later. But my brother was constantly barraging
her with text messages and articles and news stories from
his leftist sources that he loves, like NPR and MSNBC
and CNN, and just say, you can't.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Vote for Trump.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
I don't even know. I can't even talk to Ryan. Yeah, Ryan,
how could a guy who smartest Ryan vote for Trump? Like, well,
the smartest guy in the world, arguably Elon Musk just
very strongly supported Donald Trump.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
So there's that.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
But he used the cudgel and bullying tactics of browbeating
trying to get through to my mom. Now, if you
knew my mom, you would know that I got to
get a lot of my spunk from my mom that
she had a little bit too much.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
At times.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
She was very direct, very blunt, and at times did
not have that soft touch at all or those soft
skills at all, to avoid hurting people's feelings. That didn't
matter to her a lot of the time when many
times it should. Sometimes no, and sometimes you would cheer
my mom on, like when she went after you know, businesses,

(04:15):
bad customer service and they weren't going to get away
with it. My mom suffered no fools and not much
got past her.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
She was tough.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
But my brother, you know, he's this big, domineering personality,
you know, deep voice and just relentless, relentless in trying
to push my mom to vote for Biden, and she
hated Joe Biden. Did not want to vote for Joe Biden.
She had problems with Trump, but she talked I talked
her through them. Her problems with Trump were a lot

(04:46):
of the problems that many of you may have had
with Trump. Back in twenty twenty. His response to COVID
his overreliance on fauci berks. Didn't know what he was
doing closing down businesses. I mean, everything was a moving target.
I understand that in the and of course I had
no problem voting thrice for Donald Trump, including in twenty twenty.

(05:06):
But one of the things she told me, very quietly,
she pulled me aside. She said, right, don't tell Nate
or the rest of the family, but I voted for Trump.
This is how she had to navigate that minefield. This
is what the left is. They're bullying tactics, no no bounds.
We see it with the Tesla dealerships being set ablaze

(05:29):
in their minds. Justifiably, the ends justify the means by
any means necessary, keying the car doors of Tesla owners,
many of whom are leftists themselves.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
But it doesn't matter.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
We played the audio from that viral video on Facebook yesterday,
and now there is such contempt from the left toward you.
They feel they are better than you, They know they
are superior to you. You are a rube who was
easily duped by the Orange Man. You have no agency

(06:06):
or faculty to make decisions for yourselves.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
You are mind numbed robots, to quote.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
The great Rush Limbaugh, because it can't possibly be that
their ideas are wrong, are misguided, result in horrible outcomes.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
For this country. They can't square that.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
So their conclusion, which is very sophomoric, very simple minded,
is that we must be crazy, we must be Nazis,
we must be evil hut Trump must be Hitler. And
they continue with this line, and they're dying in all
these crazy hills figuratively speaking, metaphorically speaking, and the one

(06:53):
that they continue to go to here in Colorado because
they are brazen. Now they don't respect parents. Parents' abilities
to make decisions for their own children, who they have raised,
who they have spent the money to educate, to make

(07:14):
sure that these children are in a position to succeed
in life. Nobody by and large has the interests of
children more in their heart, in their minds than their
own parents. There are exceptions, but don't let the left
dwell on the exceptions because they are rare, they are few,
and they are far between. But for the most egregious,

(07:38):
extreme cases, parents should have the final word and say
so on what happens to their kids. It's insane that
in the year of our Lord twenty twenty five, I
need to say that, But I need to say that,
and I need to say that more now than ever,
after two things have happened over the last twenty four hours,
the first of which occurred on the Dan Kaplis show

(07:59):
Yeah Yesterday, where you get into some of that audio
in just a little bit. The Elizabeth public schools are
being coerced into carrying books in their libraries, including for
elementary school students, that are absolutely inappropriate by community standards
set forth.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
In the Elizabeth area.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
Those residents, those citizens who are and should be free
to make determinations for themselves when it comes to.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
Decency and obscenity.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
The standards in Elizabeth are going to be very different
than the standards in Denver, or Boulder, or even Fort Collins,
and those standards should be respected. Not only should we
be a nation of federalism with states rights, but the
more local a government is, the more representative it is
for the views and interests of those they're supposed to serve.

(08:57):
But no, the ACLUS is attempting to dictate the terms
to the residents of Elizabeth that they must have smut, pornography,
suicidal ideation, explicit sexual material provided to elementary school students,
middle school students, and some of this, I would say

(09:19):
is not even appropriate for high school students. As a
gen xer, let me walk you back through time. We'll
go back to Stranger Things. I love that series because
I lived that series, and a lot of you did too.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
When we were going to.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
Watch a somewhat controversial film, I think at that time
it might even have been PG. Thirteen, but certainly I
rated our movie.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
We needed a.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
Permission slip from our parents, whether or not we were
allowed to watch a controversial film. And back in those days,
and maybe this is me being Pollyanna for those halcionic
days of the nineteen eighties, the schools, the teachers, the principles,
the administrators wanted to include the parents in these conversations

(10:05):
and decisions.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
But now it's different.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
The left has gotten high on its own supply and
then includes, first and foremost, and maybe at the top,
unionized teachers in public schools who feel they can supplant
the interests and the decision making power of a family
of a father, of a mother. This is absolutely unthinkable

(10:31):
to me, and yet here we are.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
That's one instance.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
The other I was alerted to by Aaron Lee late
last night, and she will join us to start our
number two. He may recall Aaron had a young girl
who was confused about her sexuality, perhaps her gender, her
identity at an age where most of us are confused
about a lot of things, and especially things that are

(10:58):
happening to our own bodies, female and under the auspices
the guys and the pretense of an art club that
did not exist. A school or representatives from that school
who set up this after school program lied about the program.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
It was not an art club. It was an LGBTQ.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
Club, and they were grooming and recruiting young people who
were confused, who were vulnerable, and in this case, Aaron's
daughter into thinking she was trans, and this was a
battle Aaron and her husband would fight. I invite you
to watch the documentary on YouTube. I can't believe it's
still up on that liberal platform, but it is simply

(11:41):
entitled art Club. It will break your heart, It will
infuriate you, it will make you cry. It is a
roller coaster of emotion.

Speaker 2 (11:50):
That I felt.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
I don't even have kids, but I felt this for
Aaron and her husband, that they had to go through this,
That they did not have to go through this.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
If the schools, if the parents, if the.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
Teachers were true allies in what was best for the children,
in their interests, bringing the parents in on a decision,
keeping them informed, keeping them out of the dark. But
now they intentionally want the parents not only left in
the dark, they want to take your children from you

(12:23):
if you dare misgender them. This is house built twenty
five Dash thirteen twelve entitled Legal Protections for transgender Individuals.
And according to Aaron, she's read through it, and she
is testifying today and we'll catch up with they're in
hour number two. These are her words. But I trust her.
She's extremely intelligent, and she is a definite ally and

(12:47):
asset for parents that are looking out for their own children,
and she has become one of the strongest advocates for
the rights of parents in this state of Colorado. I
respect her immensely, infinitely. I respect Aaron Lee, and I
trust her. And this is what she said. The bill

(13:07):
would one define misgendering as child abuse quote course of
control unquote bullying parents Arran's words to either transition their
kids or else lose them. You must affirm your youngster's
gender identity. You cannot oppose it, you cannot question it.
You cannot seek therapy that might be alternative to the

(13:30):
transing of the kid. If the kid decides one day,
at age twelve or whatever, they are in fact the
opposite gender, they can make that decision. They can't go
serve in the military, they can't vote, they can't legally
buy alcohol, they can't get a tattoo, but they can

(13:50):
make it known that they are the opposite gender and
therefore want to subscribe to gender reassignment surgery, puberty blockers,
the whole nine yards. A child can make that permanent decision.
We just had this conversation yesterday, the tragic tale of
Evan de la Cruz. And look what just dropped today
on April Fool's Day, over the weekend. It was submitted

(14:13):
no warning, no advance notice for the right. For those
of us I saw Jarvis Caldwell talking about this on
X no time to prepare any kind of counter argument.
They were gonna basically rough shot Ramrod this through.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
Point two.

Speaker 1 (14:35):
And according to Aaron, she has read the bill House
built twenty five thirteen twelve will protect any parent who
brings a child to Colorado for mutilation, gender reassignment surgery,
gender denial surgery. They're the ones misgendering, They're the ones
denying a child. Is born as a child of God,

(15:00):
perfect the way he or she is, exactly how he
or she is. This is something mister Rogers told us,
and he was right, and he was a minister, but
he didn't rub religion in your face. But when you
tell a child they're not good enough the way they are,
you are planning seeds of doubt and confusion, and you're
doing it intentionally for power and control. This is pure evil.

(15:24):
And I don't throw that word around on this show,
and you know that I don't. But there's no other
explanation for this. Children do not have the capability of
making such an impactful decision about their bodies and their lives,
period and of sentence. The parents have the best interests
of the children in mind nearly one hundred percent of

(15:44):
the time. But they, meaning the educators who are looking
to advance this ideology, this philosophy, this pseudoscience, believe they
know better than you know, you Rube who vote for Trump,
or even if you didn't, I know there are a
lot of liberal parents who've been victimized by this.

Speaker 2 (16:07):
This is wacko tobacco.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
Protect any parent who brings a child to Colorado for mutilation,
negating all other state laws and court orders. Again this
according to Aaron Lee point three that she makes on
House Bill twenty five thirteen twelve Legal Protections for transgender individuals,
It gets worse.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
It gets worse.

Speaker 1 (16:30):
Three force all schools to comply with transitioning children, even
explicitly attacking charter schools and eliminating any gender dress code.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
How can they do that?

Speaker 1 (16:44):
This is overreach, and that is putting it mildly. The
school decides it wants to have a dress code, and
the girls wear skirts and the boys wear khakis. Are slacks? Nope,
not if this bill becomes law, can't do that. Cannot
do that because boys and girls are the same. That
is what they are telling us.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
They're not.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
Obviously biologically they're not. But they are forcing this idea
down our throats.

Speaker 2 (17:12):
Zero point four.

Speaker 1 (17:14):
This bill would define misgendering and dead naming as discrimination
for all Colorado businesses, and those businesses ladies and gentlemen.
They would be subject to very substantial fines. So here
we go again. A transgender individual walks into Jack Phillips's

(17:34):
Masterpiece cake shop and demands to be identified by their
chosen gender. If Jack says no, he's getting his assholed
right back into court. He's getting fined by the state
of Colorado. This is fascism. They are what they project

(17:54):
upon us, what they accuse us of being. We want
individual liberties for all. We want people to have the
freedom of expression and religion. You do not get to
force us and compel us to have a set of
views and values that you wish that we had, that
we do not have that.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
We have every right to have our own views and values.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
Opinions, scientific observations on what is male and what is female.
You can have your opinion, but it's just like that,
and you know, everybody has an opinion, just like everybody
has you know what.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
This is absolute.

Speaker 1 (18:33):
Madness and even by Colorado standards, this bill is crazy town.
And we'll be talking more with Aaron Lee coming up
in our number two to discuss that. Coming up next,
Jimmy Sengenberger on the leadership change in the Colorado Republican Party.
Dave Williams is out, Britta Horn is in. What does

(18:54):
that mean for a Republican Party. I'm telling you folks
right now, we don't It's not nice if we win here.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
We need to win here in Colorado.

Speaker 3 (19:07):
Who's the boy a storm cloud turn Around? And who's
bound for free? Who's the kid with a heartful of magic?
Everyone knows this, But who's the boy with wondude?

Speaker 2 (19:21):
Thanks? Being yourself is the best thing to be.

Speaker 3 (19:24):
Who's that rascal with the Tweezers in his pocket?

Speaker 2 (19:27):
Everyone knows this is.

Speaker 1 (19:29):
Butter rots me And apparently, according to Rhino Watch, it's
our next guest back here on Ryan Schuling Live. Jimmy
Sangenberger joins us. Of course, he's a columnist for the
Denver Gazette and also occasional cameo fill in host on
this very program. We are always happy to have him along,
whether it's for that purpose or as a guest. Right now, Butter,

(19:51):
is how you doing?

Speaker 4 (19:52):
I'm doing all right, brother, and yes, it is so
great to be with you as Jimmy Butter sanging Burger
once more. It was January, I think the twenty twenty
four that I got Christian too that and I wear
it with a badge of honor. And I got to
tell you there are a lot of gifts that you
can have fun with for Butters on X and on Facebook,
so it's a great playground for you.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
Well, I wasn't kidding around. It's no April Fool's joke.
I got to keep clarifying that on this day. But
Butters is my favorite South Park character, so I said that, Yeah,
I think it's a well earned title. I would wear
it as a badge of honor were I you, and
embrace it what you have. And I just want to
start there because recently we had Weld County Sheriff Steve

(20:35):
Reims fill in for Dan Kaplis, and he spoke with
Representative Lauren Bobert and they both had been tabbed by
this Rhino Watch is rhinos. And I was just sitting
there thinking, Jimmy, if Steve Reims and Lauren Bolbert are rhinos,
there's no hope for the rest of us.

Speaker 4 (20:53):
Yeah, exactly who is left among the Republicans if that's
the case. And that's that's really ryan. The big takeaway
from this is that as thin as the margin was,
it was just twenty nine votes, but it's still quite significant,
especially in the message that it sends that all of

(21:13):
this infighting, the arbitrary purity tests, where even Lauren Bolbert,
Steve Reeves, Jimmy Sangenberger can all be lumped into that
category of rhino It just people are set up with
it and want to focus on challenging the Democrats and
the ways in which they are ruining this state, which

(21:35):
I don't know if you've been following the legislature, Actually
I do. The list is very, very long. So why
are Republicans? Why have they been so focused on eating
their own and excising those who don't fit the arbitrary
purity test instead of going after the Democrats.

Speaker 1 (21:52):
I feel a little hurt and left out that I
have not been included on said rhino watch, at least
not to my knowledge. Maybe I have, and it definitely
should be based on their standards. The three people that
you mentioned, including yourself, Lauren Bobert, Steve Reims. I'm shocked
that I haven't been put on this rhino Watch. Who
is running this Rhino Watch? Is this some kind of
shadowy group? I mean, who are these people? Where did

(22:13):
it come from? What's going on here?

Speaker 4 (22:16):
It includes podcasters Chuck Bonniwell and Julie Hayden, Mark Hampton
I think is his last name, several others that are
part of this group of clandestine people that either just
go under Rhino Watch or occasionally you'll see something by
Leroy Spicer, because apparently Angry Keyboard Warrior was already taken.

Speaker 1 (22:37):
Ryan, I would rather be included on a list by
Lee Rod Champions.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
At least I got some fried chicken.

Speaker 1 (22:44):
But I mean it's right there in my name. To
Ryan Rhino, I mean, put me on the watch. That's fine,
much closer there. Why did I get tagged well before you?

Speaker 4 (22:59):
When I have a couple of rs in my last name.
They're in the middle there and at the tail end.
They're not the first letter of my first name.

Speaker 1 (23:09):
The thing that cracks me up to on these purity tests,
let miss tell whatever. Nobody can pass them again the
Reems Bobert standard.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (23:16):
But Donald Trump himself wouldn't pass a so called Rhino
watch test now or certainly back twenty years ago when
he gave money to Democrats, had a lot of liberal
social views.

Speaker 2 (23:28):
I mean, I don't understand where this is even coming from. Ryan.

Speaker 4 (23:32):
Back in twenty sixteen, I was an alternate delegate to
the RNC. I went as a Cruise supporter. If I
were elevated, I would have voted for Ted Cruz, but
I had already endorsed Donald Trump, saying he's going to
be the nominee, so we need to get behind him.
Because Hillary Clinton in the Supreme Court. That was all
that there was for me to go before then.

Speaker 5 (23:54):
But some of the very same.

Speaker 6 (23:55):
People that have been championing the cause, claiming them Maga
mantle and the mantle of Trump and all of that,
were those who wanted to dump Trump.

Speaker 4 (24:07):
At the twenty sixteen.

Speaker 5 (24:08):
Republican National Convention when they did thig Trump wasn't a conservative,
so therefore he had no business being the Republican parties champion.

Speaker 4 (24:19):
And lo and behold, and I make this point that
Donald Trump as president has successfully reshaped the national GOP
in his image, but now gone chairman Dave Williams tried
and failed spectacularly to do the same in Colorado. Because
memo to Dave, you still ain't Trump.

Speaker 1 (24:38):
Jimmy Sangenberger the Denver Gazette his latest Colorado GOP moves
past the chaos at last, from the aforementioned Dave Williams
to Britta Horn. And I gotta believe Bretta Horn was
on Rhino Watch at some point, might still be, I
don't know, but exactly so what changes now, Jimmy, because
it wasn't just Britta, It was the entire leadership that

(24:58):
was voted in, and those those who were voted out
included Hope Sheppelman, who would have been a disciple of
Dave Williams in many ways. What does it tell you
that it was Britta Horne who emerged from this process?
The entire leadership basically was dovetailing under her leadership, and
the fact that it came down to her and Lorie Saine.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
What do you read from all of that.

Speaker 4 (25:21):
I think there are a heck of a lot of
Republicans who are tired of being completely in the political
wilderness and just focused on this high school drama. Where
As I read in my column clicks masquerade as leadership
in petty squabbles, Trump's strategy and purpose. I mean, that's
the resounding lesson here is let's get back to basics.

(25:41):
I've known I don't know where that well, but I've
known Britta for a long time. Were both graduates of
the leadership program of the Rockies, and she's somebody who understands,
I think very basic, the very basic level that you
have to be focused on achieving real goals as opposed
to just being off in La La Land, debating amongst

(26:04):
yourselves who's more pure or what is the direction of
the little group on bylaws or what have you. And
so I think that what you will see is less
of a focus on infighting and purity tests that more
on what can we do to get the job done.
I mean, who knows if Rida Horn will be able
to write the ship with her team, but if they

(26:27):
need business, they will really get away from the club
based status quo. And also I think this is important too,
rit resist the temptation that may or may not be
there for them. Certainly it's going to be there for
some of Dave Williams's opponents to conduct their own public purges. Yes,
you need to keep some folks in check who may

(26:48):
try to derail the direction of defeating Democrats. But having
a similar purge to what the other side was doing,
it's totally going to defeat the purpose of I think
why the new team was elected. So if they just
can focus on making inroads and setting aside the pettiness,

(27:08):
then they're going to be a good chunk of the
way there to at least making some inroads in twenty
twenty six. Although I do have to say, it's a
long haul for the Colorado GOP to really make significant
headway in a state as far gone as Colorado.

Speaker 1 (27:24):
Read More, with his latest Colorado GOP moves, passed the
chaos at last, moving on to Brida Horn as the
chair of the Republican Party in Colorado.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
And that's at the Denver Gazette. You can find that online.

Speaker 1 (27:35):
Finally, Jimmy your Blues band, it's all come together. You've
got a gig. Where is it?

Speaker 2 (27:40):
When is it?

Speaker 4 (27:41):
This is a very special occasion and we're glad to
be back in action and with the phenomenal new guitarist
for the band. On Sunday, April twenty seventh, from three
to six pm at the Douglas County Fairgrounds in Castle Rock,
the tenth annual Pro Police Rally Colorado aka Law Enforcement

(28:02):
Appreciation Day for Douglas County will be happening. Some phenomenal
speakers from local law enforcement to federal folks who are
doing good work on a variety of different fronts will
be there, and some great people from a law enforcement
I think the Sheriff's Department will be bringing the canine
unit and so forth, which is exciting and most spectacularly

(28:26):
from my vantage point. The Jimmy Junior Blues Band will
be performing as the band live at the tenth annual
Law Enforcement Appreciation Day for Douglas County, and I'm really
looking forward to it. We've got a great setlist, phenomenal musicians,
and it's just going to be a great time fund
for the whole family.

Speaker 1 (28:45):
I plan on being there myself, Jimmy. So when you
got a website or more information along those lines, shoot
that to me via text. I'll be sure to share
it early and often between now and then. That's Sunday,
April twenty seventh.

Speaker 4 (28:56):
Right, you better believe it, brother, from three to six
at the dead.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
All right, Butters, thanks for your time today.

Speaker 1 (29:04):
You know, calculated Jimmy sanging Berger five seven seven three
nine your reaction to anything Jimmy had to say there,
we'll take this time out. We'll get more of the
audio from yesterday's Riveting five o'clock hour on the Dan
Kaplis Show. It featured both Jeff Maher, the Elizabeth Public

(29:24):
Schools PIO and superintendent from that school system, Dan Snowberger,
simply reading excerpts from these books that the ACLU says,
you need to keep in the Elizabeth Public School libraries,
including for kindergarteners all the way through elementary school. This
time out wrapping up our number one after these words,

(30:04):
the late great Eric Carmen. Did you know Eric Carmon
was one of us? Meaning he was conservative, right of center.
I used to interact with him quite a bit on
the old Twitter, and then he kind of dropped off
of there, maybe he got sick. He did end up
dying just a couple of years ago. But really enjoyed
having him on that platform much in the same way

(30:26):
that we have James Woods. And he sings to me
with that song on this April Fool's Day, and maybe
the fool stands alone. That's me, oh by myself in
the control room. God, nobuddy here five seven seven three nine,
I need you.

Speaker 2 (30:43):
So let's go to the text.

Speaker 1 (30:45):
This is from Natalie Tennant, very loyal listener, and Natalie,
we appreciate you.

Speaker 2 (30:50):
I appreciate you.

Speaker 1 (30:52):
Never Surrender National always makes me want to play the
Corey Hart.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
Song you Can Never Surrender. Yep, I'm gonna play that later.

Speaker 1 (31:01):
I've just made up my mind, you know why, Because
I'm the only one here and what I think goes
it's a tyranny of one against well you, I guess,
but myself and Natalie says, I've made Rhino watch three
times since December of last year. That's a lot, Natalie.
It's such a divisive site. This needs to stop. It's

(31:21):
time to get to work. Britta Horn is the leader
we need. I'm ready to get Republicans elected a few
more seats and we're out of the minority. All hands
on deck. Folks should reach out to their county GOP
and see where they can volunteer. Natalie great points all five, seven, seven,
three nine. Folks get in touch with Britta. She's great.
She's a sweet person, she's a smart person. There's a

(31:45):
reason why another person that I highly respect, Heidi Ganal,
was all in supporting Britta Horn, and when I witnessed that,
I'm like, Okay, there's likely something here much deeper below
the surface than Britta Horn. Who's a hero I means
volunteer firefighter. She's done a lot of good work in
the community, and I think she has the best interest
of the party at heart. And again, that's winning, winning

(32:08):
with practical and pragmatic approaches and priorities based in principles,
not sacrificing those principles, not surrendering those principles, not compromising
those principles, but winnowing them down, building a coalition, building
a broad, big tent, allowing people to come in that

(32:30):
might have some diverse opinions. Diverse opinions, but they have
a general political philosophy of being right of center, being libertarian,
being populist, being conservative, being America first. If that's your
cup of tea, then we want you at our tea party.
Pun intended, Ryan, I think Britta has a bad idea

(32:51):
for the primary. The more independence that see who is
running and have the opportunity to vote for them, the better.

Speaker 2 (32:56):
I largely agree with you.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
I think Britta was trying to kind of bring these
factions together. The one didn't you want to have a
primary just selected at the Assembly. The candidates that's it
have no voices, no votes from even the likes of
you and me registered Republicans. But I'm like, I don't
want that. And then there's the other faction that want
an open primary in which independence can vote and maybe

(33:18):
we get a more palatable candidate for.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
The general election.

Speaker 1 (33:20):
But then that's open to subterfusion, sabotage. So what Britta
is saying is have a primary, but have it only
for Republican voters. And I got to say, I would
be okay with owning that, because if we Republicans decide
to put up a candidate that is toxic or unelectable
or unappealing for whatever reason, that we deserve to lose,

(33:43):
and I'd be okay with that. We would control our
own destiny in that case. And I don't know what
the answer is. If I did, maybe i'd be working
for the party right now. I do have, you know,
suggestions that if they're helpful, I'd be happy.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
To submit them.

Speaker 1 (33:57):
But you want a person who can speak think. This
is what rush Limba always said. You don't run away
from conservatism. You run toward it, and you speak it
fluently like a language, and when you're earnest about it,
when you sell it, and you don't have to make
it up, you don't have to fabricate it.

Speaker 2 (34:15):
Look at Ron de Santis in Florida.

Speaker 1 (34:17):
He went from a razor thin margin, winning the initial
gubernatorial election barely to winning by twenty points for reelection.

Speaker 2 (34:25):
How did that happen?

Speaker 1 (34:27):
Studied in the DeSantis model and path in Florida. Florida
was not a red state. It is now because of
Rond De Santis. I think he provides a window and
a path forward. And I think Glenn Youngkin Virginia a
very similar state demographically and politically as Colorado. Glen Youngkin
speaks true conservatism. I mean he's no mealy mouthed moderate,

(34:49):
He's not. He focuses on issues that are winning issues,
eighty twenty kitchen table issues, and I think focus is
on the very subject that we are going to focused on.

Speaker 2 (35:00):
To start hour number two with Aaron Lee. Now, she
is a parent of a student who.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
Is formerly of Pewter Public Schools, but she is fighting
against this bill. The Democrats have become so brazen, so arrogant,
so dismissive of any opposition that they are going to
ram through their far left agenda because they don't feel
there's any opposition that's worthy and there will be no consequences.

Speaker 2 (35:24):
They can't lose any party. Republicans include.

Speaker 1 (35:28):
You start operating and running your ballgame with the notion
and the thought that you can't lose. The time's going
to come, what Karma's going to hit you? And it's
going to hit you hard.

Speaker 2 (35:39):
At the ballot box.

Speaker 1 (35:41):
And I just don't believe Coloradden's are going to let
this thing continue to Kreene off the leftist Cliff and
I hope I'm right
