Speaker 1 (00:00):
You can text us at five seven, seven, three nine.
I am dying a thousand deaths at the moment watching
my Detroit Tigers and a winner, take all, loser go
home decisive Game three in Cleveland against the Artists formerly
known as the Indians. No more Chief Wahoo, no more Indians,
no more tribe. So much fun calling them the Tribe.

(00:21):
Now they're the Guardians. Parental guidance suggested by a parent
or guardian. You got to have them to get an
a rate at ar movie if you're under the age
of seventeen. That's just the way it is. LT Grays,
though they're not changing their name anytime soon, but the
Elite one nothing and they're coming to bat here. Zach,
is there any team that you are so invested in?

(00:42):
And I think I know the answer to this, but
I want you to say it that you live and
die like with every pitch or every play, there are
teams on that level for you.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
And if so, who are they?

Speaker 3 (00:51):
The Denver Broncos.

Speaker 4 (00:52):
And that's why it's it's painful for me to be
a part of those radio broadcasts because you're ahead of
the TV.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
When you're when you're behind the scenes, you're ahead of
the TV product broadcast.

Speaker 4 (01:03):
And you'll hear Dave Logan go oh, benex drops back,
he looks, he throws down field.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
Oh is it a completion or is it an interception?
What is it like?

Speaker 4 (01:13):
It is the most stressful way I've ever consumed sports.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
It's a blast, but man, it is bad for my heart.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
It's agonizing. So Broncos are top of the list. Is
there a close second or no?

Speaker 3 (01:25):
Nuggets?

Speaker 4 (01:26):
As I've gotten more and more professionally involved with the
Broncos to get that to scratch that same fan itch,
I've invested more and more in the Nuggets, and man
that that Game seven loss against the t Wolves two
years ago, game seven against the Thunder this year are
are two of the more painful sports memories I have
right now.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
Ryan, Yeah, I'm big into the Nuggets too, and I
support the Broncos. We've had this conversation. I'm contractually obligated
not to root for the Avalanche, but for the fans
that are here. You know. The more power too, is
just you know, the history and the whole Red Wings
Avalanche thing.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
The six year ward ensued.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
You bring that rivalry back, by the way, it's harder
to do because they shipped the Red Wings out east
along with the Columbus Blue Jackets, but when they were
still in the Western Conference, it was always funny to
me Detroit's in the Eastern time zone but in the
Western Conference because geographically that's just how it was drawn up,
and it made sense. So you know, you're in the
same division as Chicago and Saint Louis. But man, that

(02:24):
Colorado Avalanche Detroit Red Wings rivalry of the late nineties
early two thousands, it's difficult to cite any rivalry since
in any sport that's been that heated. So yeah, I
have a lot of very great memories of that and
a lot of emotion invested in that either way. I
know a lot of you Avalanche fans do too, But

(02:44):
I root for the Broncos, certainly do. Only time is
when their interests collide to the Lions, which has happened.
In fact, that was the site of quite the brujaja,
a little dust up between Sean Payton and Russell Wilson.
I think that was kind of the handwriting on the wall,
shall we say, is act that Russ's time in Denver
is going to be short.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
Yeah, that's when you knew.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
I think you had an idea when Peyton came in
that this is a guy with the power to sweep
Russell Wilson out. Maybe it's going to trend that way.
And once you had that blow up on the sidelines,
it became very very clear that.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
Was against Detroent and I believe in Detroit at Ford Field.
I'm like, WHOA when I saw that on Oh, that
can't be good, and it wasn't. It was not good.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
Both teams battling for a playoff spot too, Yeah, and
a big swing for there.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
You're right.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
So my dream matchup would be a Broncos Lion super Bowl,
which I think is within the realm of outcome, Zach,
that could happen, could happen. I think Denver, in my opinion,
should be undefeated right now. The end of games fiascos
they've had with the field goals and stuff, and two
of those losses to drive you nuts you personally.

Speaker 4 (03:45):
They are the only team in the NFL right now
to not have a single snap or played a single
second of the fourth quarter where they are trailing because
both their losses came on field goals as time expired.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Wow, that is a neat stay.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
That's a fun fact, not really fun, but fun for
like the average fan to know that. So, Zach, thanks
for that, Colonel, that morsel right there. But yeah, so
that would be my dream matchup and watching this play
out today, Tigers were in a much better spot. What
was it about three months ago early July, best record
in baseball and the bottom fell up. But they're up

(04:22):
one nothing as I'm doing this right now, alive, top
of four. I'll keep tabs on that, Zach Seegers as
you've heard, kind of underselling it there on the board
for us today. Appreciate his help and input each and
every time that he's here to do it. One more
thing though, from you, z Man, on the experience that
you've garnered in the Broncos radio broadcasts, is there anything

(04:45):
that stands out to you that you weren't anticipating going in,
but that you realize now having done it.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
I think just how fun it is to hear everyone's
dialogue during the breaks. I feel the same way about
the Rocky It's you know, you hear great analysis during
the game, but when you get to those breaks hearing
you know the emotion and the stress. You know, Dave
Logan's going through just like any anyone else rooting for

(05:13):
the Broncos on a given day, or are same thing
with Rick Lewis and oh yeah, and the dialogue they
have during the breaks, it feels like I'm watching a
game with friends at a bar or something.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
And that's a cool aspect I hadn't expected.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
That is that behind the scenes that only you in
those circumstances you just described get to experience.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
So I'm glad that you appreciate the neatness of that factor.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
And of course we spoke with Jerry Shemel yesterday as
there was some big goings down with the Colorado Rockies
franchise and Bill Schmidt, longtime executive and the organization responsible
for a lot of great draft picks and moves over
the majority of their team history. Well, the team is
moving on and Bill will be too. We wish him
the very best, but definitely room for another voice in there.

(05:56):
And I think it's important for the Rockies to be
able to turn the corner, have a different perspective and
a fresh outlook for twenty twenty six. And we appreciate
Jerry for joining us those tax five seven, seven, three nine.
This is a this is a double sided coin and
neither of them are good. From Ryan, red Wings will
always suck Like yacht rock, Well, you're zero for two,

(06:17):
pal or gal whoever texted that because yacht rock is awesome,
I'm going to put you on the spot here, Zach
yacht rock yeah or nay?

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Why? Why not? Oh? Man?

Speaker 3 (06:28):
I think I'm right down the middle on this one.

Speaker 4 (06:29):
I think I'm the Switzerland of this, in opposite of
the war because I know Kowa, Ryan and Ben have
have a similar debate raging Yeah, okay, who's pro yacht rock?
I believe Ben is staunchly pro and Ryan is pretty
staunchly anti.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
That doesn't that one doesn't surprise me that Ben is
so pro yacht rock is a pleasant surprise and delightful,
and I just enjoy it for the cheesiness of it,
and anybody who knows me, that's gonna be zero percent surprising,
because I'm all about the cheesy, over the top, the eighties,
the wardrobe, the music, the synthesizers, right, the new wave,
all the stuff that Kelly hates.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
I love.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
But we agree on this one for some reason, Kelly,
and she's all about the yacht rock too, So warring
factions collide and combine. For that, one favorite yacht rock,
I mean, quint essential has to be Doobie Brothers, Michael
McDonald and or Christopher Cross.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
So those two I think are at the very top
of the list.

Speaker 1 (07:27):
There's a lot of other ones too, But it's why
I had Yachtlee Crew on yet again not that long ago,
and we had a lot of fun there and wishing
them the very best because their lead singer, Philly Ocean
that's his stage name.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
Of course, I was having problems with his.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
Voice and they've had to replace him on the tour,
and that's a scary thing. Ros Kaminsky's gone through that,
Mandy Connell's gone through that. When you use your voice
as your career, I mean, that's your money maker. You
can't live without it, you know, It's like, don't leave
home without it. And unfortunately they suffered some setbacks there,
but some surgeries were very successful for them. I know

(08:04):
that they talk about that a lot on their programs
Knock on wood So I'm knocking on my head right
now is one day I'll be a real boy.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
But right now I'm like Pinocchio.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
I've not had those kind of problems over the course
of my career, and that's because I try to stay
in the register that God gave me. I don't want
to sing those falsetto notes, Zach, I know you're all
about them, Freddie Mercury style.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
I can't do it. I'm not capable. It's not in
my mill.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
U Ryan Detroit can make it this year to the
Big Dance, but not the Broncos.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
That would be an awesome super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
Oh, I had even been my dream, and I'd have
to be able to find a way to go.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
I mean, this will about my pay grade to be
able to afford those tickets.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
But maybe I can sneak in my piece some kind
of production assistant with the broadcast, any of the broadcast
our own broadcasts.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
That would be a lot of fun. I would agree
five seven, seven three nine.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
Glad to have started on a lighter note today, because
there are some serious topics, and the first of which
I want to introduce you to is Paul Porter.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
And you may not know the name of it. Maybe
you do. He's the owner of.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
The works in wheat Ridge, and the works is spelled
w e rks. And this story was brought to my
attention by a mutual friend of ours, Paul's and mine.
They're very appreciated to her and she's done good work
on behalf of Colorado families. Parents, you know, trying to
serve as a bulwark against the trands identifying agenda that's

(09:31):
being inflicted upon our kids in schools that really doesn't
have any place, not the place, not the time, not
ever to usurp or circumvent the parents and their role
and the responsibility for the safety, well being and welfare
of their own children. That's why whenever one of these
elected officials, school board members, teachers, principal, superintendents, when any

(09:54):
of them say, well, there are kids, know the blank,
they're not They're not your You know, when I was
going to school, I went to a school. I enjoyed
my teachers. I liked going to school. I was not theirs, though.
That is intentional, and that's dark until or unless, and
this guy's be a high bar, it can be proven

(10:18):
that a parent is delinquent in their duties or abusive
and that the child's well being and welfare is at
imminent risk. And that's a dangerous precipice as well, because
there are those in the left that say, well, if
you deny your child's gender identity, that is abuse, and
that is you know, putting them in harm's way. They
may they may threaten self harm. Would you rather have

(10:42):
a living son or a dead daughter? That's the line
that they feed the likes of Aaron Lee who had
a twelve year old daughter in sixth grade. Go to
an after school club that was called art club.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
Oh that sounds fun. I want to do art. I
want to paint some things, want to draw some things.
You know, I'm going to conceptualize something art. I love art.
Arts great.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
Wasn't an art club? Was an LGBTQ in doctrination club.
And if that's such a great thing, you know, maybe
it is. I am as pro LGBTQ as any Republican.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
You'll find a.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
Very good relationship with log Cabin Republicans. Baldim Marchellett is
one of my best friends. So all about the gays
pro gay that's me when we get down to the
gaze against groomers with whom I stand in solidarity, the
rich Guga heems of the world that we've had a
conversation with on this program. He has now since left

(11:32):
Colorado unfortunately, and sadly for us, they're not about indoctrinating
the kids and anything sexual drag queen shows trans this
or that, you know that's not for kids. Okay, tricks
are for kids. The cereal with the acts that those
are for kids. This type of adult behavior decision making
way beyond their level of comprehension and brain development, just

(11:55):
like anything else that we don't allow children to do,
get tattoos, drink alcohol, smokes, cigarettes, These are adult decisions
made by adults. And for me, you want to have
a gay parade, you just go ahead and enjoy that.
And you want to have a drag show, that's fantastic.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
If it's all adults, who cares? I don't care. I
don't care.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
But I think it was Alexa that brought up this point,
our loyal listener and friend of mine, that why is
it that the drag queen reading hours or for children
but not for the elderly.

Speaker 2 (12:29):
They don't go around to you know, the old.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
Folks homes and start reading to elderly people for entertainment value.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
Why wouldn't they do that?

Speaker 1 (12:40):
And why do they insist upon being in the presence
of children, Because I wouldn't take my child to Chippendale's,
or to any female erotic dancing club like Shotgun Willis.
You know, you don't take a little kid there, you
don't have it's not their business, that's not for them.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
But somehow, in some way.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
This sexualization, this is for them, according to the left.
All this to say, as we circle back Paul Porter,
one of the Works, I spoke with him by phone
earlier today and again it looks like a terrific venue
in wheat Ridge, and he was hosting a group that

(13:21):
would be identified, I think as conservative. But he didn't
even know, and he didn't even ask, and he doesn't
have any sort of you know, uh, litmus tests that
you must apply for and pass in order to gather,
just have a simple public social gathering in his place.
But they turned out to be conservative and it was
a meet and greet reservation their establishment.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
Well, the left couldn't have that.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
They found out about it, and then they protested it,
and then they alleged that Paul Porter, owner of the Works,
was a homophobe, was a xenophobe, was a racist, and
wanted to boycott and shut down his establishment.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
He told his story to try a right check.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
She of libs of TikTok, and this went viral nationally
by baseball.

Speaker 5 (14:07):
We're here at the Works of Colorado in Ingers, Colorado.
We're really just thinking out about what we stranged yesterday
as a simple bar and restaurant that really enjoys anybody.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
And everybody who was to flare space.

Speaker 5 (14:22):
We recently had a reservation of space where he greets
party to come in our space where frid our great
our breaks as they should, and it was exposed to
us over the numerous days of harassing cone calls, emails.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
And slanger that he received, which is.

Speaker 5 (14:40):
The only reason we even found out about. There was
a political affiliation that asked his route to the end
because it is not a policy producing of ours, net
or filter who can and cannot come in our business
has on their books and got the beliefs.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
Now, I'm kind of like the big Lebowski listening to
the walkman. That sound that you just heard that sounded
like a strike. To me, I'm not a big bowler,
but a bold enough just enough to know that in
the background the bowling alley there, that sounded like a stripe.
But to get on point about the message that he's
saying is there was this group, as I stated that,
a reserved time for a meet and great, and they
turned out to be conservative, but he wouldn't know because

(15:20):
they were just patrons.

Speaker 2 (15:21):
They were customers. Hey, we'd like to have this space.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
I'm not going to speak on his behalf because he
will join us tomorrow Paul Porter at three point thirty three.
But he had made it clear that any group, any group,
any political affiliation, any stripe on the spectrum left to right,
far left to far right, is welcome there if they're
simply there to have a civil gathering, conversation, that sort

(15:44):
of thing. Doesn't want the propaganda associated with like a
political rally there. I get that, doesn't matter who you are,
doesn't matter what that is. I would have to venture
to say that if a group of Satanists came to
the works, and again I'm just doing this thumbnail sketch
based on what Paul told me, that didn't as long
as they weren't disruptive and they kept to themselves and did.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
Their own thing and had a nice gathering and did
do what Satanists do.

Speaker 1 (16:09):
I mean that that would be okay too, but that's
not good enough.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
For the left. And this is what happened next important.

Speaker 5 (16:15):
To this group decided to bring into our attention and
make a big deal out of this. So we became
involved and became very concerned about how it was going
to affect our team, specifically my staff and how they
felt about it and other patos within our buildings. Because
we will absolutely accept everybody the most the coming here
in the Tayer space. They decided they were to hand

(16:38):
out flyers personal slider towards myself. If they are I'm
happy with the group that is here, that's a hurt fine.
I suppot to support their right to peaceful protests and
had to express their opinions as long as it doesn't
have to take back with this this, which of course
it will when you start hurrying out and easy crazy

(17:00):
see unbelievable words to assess somebody. They don't even know
who I am, no my name to.

Speaker 2 (17:07):
Know who we are as a team.

Speaker 1 (17:08):
So they made it personal against the owner of the works,
Paul Porter, rather than focusing their attention their vitriol their
protest against the actual group that met there. And even
then it's like what are you doing? Get a life,
go do something, get a job, but why are you
caring where any particular group meets Scathers. What if people
did that to you, held you under that same microscope

(17:29):
and lens. You don't want that. Now, Paul introduces Ash.
Now I have determined through Paul telling me that Ash
just happens to be a gay black man who is
a manager there and one of his best workers. So
the whole racist homophobe slam against Paul falls a little

(17:49):
bit short.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
Here this is my good friend Ash over here. He's
a manager that this and the fantastic So paygo Ash,
how'd you feel it? I guess how to make.

Speaker 6 (17:58):
So while serving the tables, I had realized I've almost
got a spiece of paper, you know, and all that
newspapers where it had all this outland of stuff about
the owner of the works. Well, I definitely know it
can't be true, because definitely said he was ALMOSTO DNA PO.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
Racist.

Speaker 6 (18:23):
And I'm the three of the thing that they said
he's not about. And here I am one of the
supervisors at just establishment.

Speaker 2 (18:31):
So maybe just do a little fall or before you
start making these cool mark stick It's just such a shame.
How do these people should be a shame of these arts?

Speaker 5 (18:41):
It's truly it's discussing.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
We will talk to Paul Porter tomorrow three thirty three pm,
owner of the Works, his manager Ash As you heard
right there. And what I want to say to Ash
is it doesn't matter what the truth is. That's irrelevant.
Don't let the facts get into the way of a
good story. And they're good story on the left. It's
just to slap these labels on anybody who they disagree
with and get them canceled and get them disqualified and
put them out of business. So everybody go to the

(19:05):
Works and wheat Ridge. We'll talk more about that coming
up next on Ryan Schuling Live. Now, if you're really
getting into the whole Halloween thing, your costume should be scary,

Am I missing something? And then I looked in the mirror,
and I answered those questions and the answers were definitely no,
I do not have enough to retire, and yes I
am missing something. So I reached out to Trajan Wealth,

(19:49):
spoke with Andy Justice. He took me through the process

Speaker 2 (19:58):

on it.

Speaker 2 (21:00):
Now. Zach has called.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
Himself Switzerland, so he was exactly neutral in this. Benjamin
Albright is on my side, very pro yacht rock. Ryan
Edward's over there on Way very anti yacht rock, and
the Majory anti fun.

Speaker 2 (21:12):
Do you love fun, well, then you love yacht rock?
You just do?

Speaker 1 (21:17):
Is not that any one of these songs. Maybe it
is your favorite, but they can be a go to.
I'm talking about a vibe here, like you're out on
the lake right, getting some rays, having some bruise, white claws,
no loss, that's the rule, doing some fishing. You know,
think about what I just described in the summer that's

(21:37):
gone by and what we're gonna miss and everything like
summer it's too hot, love summer, Give me all summer
all the time.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
Winter here, yeah, I know, you go skiing. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (21:47):
I had enough winter growing up in Michigan. Okay, why
did I move here? There's winter here too? Come on,
Ryan Smart, No, no, I get it. This texture makes
a point about the yacht rock original New Wave not
anywhere near yacht syrup crap.

Speaker 2 (22:04):
Yah.

Speaker 1 (22:05):
Is it like Caro syrup or like an Jemima when
they took her off the bottle. I want to know
what kind of syrup yacht syrup crap is And if
you can put on your pancakes and I love New Wave,
I'm not gonna back down. I will die on that hill.
Give me some psychedelic furs, give me some echo and
the bunny men.

Speaker 2 (22:24):
He doesn't know what I'm talking about. More music.

Speaker 1 (22:28):
Stephen Littleton, retired LA enforcement officer, see you, thank you
for your service. To quote Pink Floyd, teach her leave
those kids alone. Yes, all in all, it's just another
brick in the wall and that's what it's become.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
And it goes to this Texter Brian.

Speaker 1 (22:44):
The Nazis believe that all German children were their children too. Yeah,
fighting for the fatherland, as they called it, just scary stuff.
Right now, the parents belong to the children and the
children belong to the parents, and that nexus should not
be broken but for a very high bar where there's
an established systemic, a pattern of abuse and I mean,

(23:07):
like the life of the child is in danger, not
that you're hurting the kid's feelings.

Speaker 2 (23:12):
You know how many.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
Times I had my feelings hurt growing up, sometimes by
my own parents, sometimes in my best interests.

Speaker 2 (23:20):
Your parents aren't there to be your pal.

Speaker 1 (23:22):
Your buddy. I mean maybe, especially as you grow older.
But when you're a kid, you need discipline, you need boundaries,
you need to have guardrails because you're a kid, and
you're dumb, and you do dumb kids stuff. You don't
need an adult with Transhusen by proxy, Munchausen by pronxy
and approximately one of the time, sorry women, it's the mom.

Speaker 2 (23:47):
I have a trans kid. Well, aren't you brave? You're
brave for what you're going through with your child. There
are no trans children.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
There are children with gender dysphoria, but the implication that
they're trans means that you green light and you endorse
transforming that child through surgical means, through hormone blockers, through
Frankenstein methods, changing their gender from one to the other,
which we know scientifically or religiously morally, no matter how

(24:19):
you choose to identify it not possible. Zach was born
with a y chromosome. I was born with a Y chromosome.
I will never not have been born with a Y chromosome.
I cannot have two X chromosomes. I can't, I cannot
have I can't believe I'm going here, but we're gonna
have to because the left needs this. I don't have

(24:42):
female equipment inerts, don't, can't, won't, never will Therefore, no
matter how you spruce it up.

Speaker 2 (24:54):
Or how you.

Speaker 1 (24:54):
Identify, which is fine, especially as an adult in adult
circles doing adult things who you are. Let your freak
flag fly, you do it, but don't impose that on children.
This shouldn't need to be said, but it needs to
be said because this is what's happening right now, especially

(25:15):
in the state of Colorado. And Aaron Lee.

Speaker 2 (25:19):
Is going to be.

Speaker 1 (25:20):
Joining me, I hope within the next week, because there
is a decision pending before the Supreme Court of the
United States as to whether they're going to take up
her case against the Pooter School District.

Speaker 2 (25:29):
That will be big, and my prediction will be that
it'll be at.

Speaker 1 (25:33):
Least five to four in her favor, and perhaps six'
three With Justice roberts being That hopscotcher let's get to this.

Speaker 2 (25:41):
Sound this Is fiona.

Speaker 1 (25:44):
MACKANENA i, think If i'm saying it, Correctly she the
author Of Turf, island commenting On Emma, watson who now
that see the time is, turning the winds are shifting
and this automatic boilerplate stamp of approval on all things

(26:06):
trans that's not the way of the world. Anymore there
has been a culture shift away from, that And Emma
watson knew.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
It and now she did a sit down.

Speaker 1 (26:15):
Interview Did Emma Watson hermione From Harry potter Series if
those of you that aren't, familiar backing away from her
criticisms of AUTHOR. Jk rowling on being staunchly pro, woman
pro female and not green lighting trans inclusion in female

(26:37):
sports and spaces is as simple AS i can put.
It but this Is fiona. Mcanana this Is british. Television
i'm not sure WHICH bbc it, was BUT i think
it was one of them talking about that.

Speaker 2 (26:47):
Subject AND i think there are.

Speaker 7 (26:49):
Some other positive signs too that things are. Shifting when
you see the media starting to say trans women and,
men THEN i think we really are. Winning But Emma
watson was, careful wasn't she not to go too. FAR
i think what she's going to find now is you
can't sit on the. Fence she was a real cheerleader
For mermaids the, charity and for transitioning children and for

(27:11):
people knowing who they.

Speaker 4 (27:12):
Are it was also kind of a Nott there's that
clip of her at The bafters and it was just
kind of like a really Snidy there's that bit where
she Says i'm here for all the which like.

Speaker 2 (27:22):
It's just nasty right when.

Speaker 4 (27:24):
Jk rowling was getting a lot of Great so.

Speaker 7 (27:28):
Whether she is trying to row back from that full
hearted support for transitioning, children or whether she's just trying
to get back in WITH Jk rowling in the hope of.

Speaker 2 (27:37):
Work who.

Speaker 7 (27:38):
Knows Richard dawkins is an interesting case because you, Know
i'm sure when he Wrote The God delusion he thought
that was quite out. There it turns out that saying
men can't become women is even more out, there and
who would have thought? That but he is someone whose
career is so established that he's not at any. Risk
the real win is when ordinary people can say those.

(27:59):
Things AND i don't think we're quite there.

Speaker 1 (28:00):
YET i think we're getting there, Though fiona And Emma,
watson and she made fun Of Jay. LETTER i remember
this one time she was On Jay leno's. Program she
was a little girl and didn't like How jay was
saying her Name Emma, watson like that.

Speaker 2 (28:14):
Nasily thing that We americans.

Speaker 1 (28:15):
Do and Then fiona said it the right, Way Emma Watson, WATSON.

Speaker 2 (28:19):
I can't talk like.

Speaker 1 (28:20):
THAT i sound like a. Fool might sound like a
fool anyway to many of. You but you know who
doesn't sound like a. Fool THAT'S.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
Jk.

Speaker 1 (28:26):
Rowling and she had a very thought provoking response To
Emma watson THAT i will read for you when we come.
Back running out our number one Of ryan's scholing live
For Dylan dingler not to get over home Run. Tigers
i'm telling you right, Now Dylan dingler will have his

(28:47):
revenge On Ohio, Masalon ohio, native not that far outside Of,
Cleveland Ohio State university. Graduate he's A buckeye and he
just home it for The tigers two to. One, Sorry
i'm Living i'm living a nightmare right. HERE i having
to keep my eyes on two different. Baseballs did you
grow up with The Harry potter book, Series the movies
that sort of.

Speaker 2 (29:07):
Thing did you watch? Them because that's about your wheelhouse
as a, kid, right.

Speaker 3 (29:10):
That's very much my.

Speaker 4 (29:11):
GENERATION i was born in ninety, nine AND i think
the first book came out like ninety seven or, something
and the first movie came out like about that same,
time like in two thousand and two thousand and, One
so very much like SOMETHING i grew.

Speaker 1 (29:25):
Up, with even As, okay were you into it The
Harry potter?

Speaker 2 (29:28):
Series were? You WAS i a fan of it grown?

Speaker 1 (29:31):
Up? Okay so did you read the? Books do you
have to read to? You did you watch the? Movies mixed?

Speaker 3 (29:36):
BAG i think some definitely read to me some by.

Speaker 4 (29:38):
The end of, it you, KNOW i would have been
in middle school or, so SO i THINK i was
definitely reading them myself by the TIME i was wrapping.

Speaker 1 (29:45):
Up, okay love to get the gen z perspective on,
that BECAUSE i was in my mid twenties by the
time all that was, happening AND i took a passive
interest in like the, magic you, know and the wonder
of it, all the.

Speaker 2 (29:57):
WIZARDRY i thought it was. FUN i saw some of the,
movies read the first. BOOK.

Speaker 1 (30:01):
Jk rowling a genius creating that world really was much
in the same way That tolkien. WAS i think she's
on that, level and that's not a COMPARISON i make.
Lately but what the time that we have, LEFT i
want to read what Jk rowling said about what we
heard about going to Break Emma watson kind of waffling
on her criticism of Jk rowling now that it's not
as fashionable to be as rapidly pro trans and more

(30:24):
importantly protransing the kids As Emma watson, was because it's
the cool kid. Club there's no, risk there's no courage
and acceding to the mob and joining the. Mob of
course they're gonna accept. You, then but the minute you
step out of, Line, emma here's the, warning and it's gonna.
Happen they're gonna cast you, Out they're going to force
you to, apologize and then when you bend the, knee
they're never gonna. Stop so Jk rowling never bet the,

(30:48):
knee and she deserves our admiration for just. That her
response To Emma watson in this podcast, appearance.

Speaker 2 (30:54):
WHICH i want to embrace Jk rowling again.

Speaker 1 (30:57):
Quote i'm seeing quite a bit of comment about this
to make a couple of. Points i'm that owde eternal
agreement from any actor who once played a CHARACTER i.
Created the idea is as ludicrous as me checking with
the BOSS i had WHEN i was twenty one for
what OPINIONS i should hold these. Days Emma watson and
her co stars have every right to embrace gender identity.
Ideology such beliefs are legally, protected AND i wouldn't want

(31:20):
to see any of them threatened with loss of work
or violence or death because of.

Speaker 2 (31:24):
Them, However emma.

Speaker 1 (31:26):
And dan in, particular he's the, one the redheaded GUY
i think of the triumvirate Include Potter.

Speaker 3 (31:34):
Radcliffe, YEAH i think she Means Dan.

Speaker 2 (31:36):
Radcliffe, okay there you. Go thank You zach for. That
that's why you're.

Speaker 1 (31:39):
Here, However emma And dan in particular made both made
it clear over the last few years that they think
our former professional association gives them a particular, right nay,
obligation to critique me and my views in. Public years
after they finished acting In, potter they continue to assume
the role of de facto spokespeople for the WORLD i,

(32:00):
created SAYS.

Speaker 2 (32:00):
Jk.

Speaker 1 (32:01):
Rowling when you've known people since they were ten years,
old it's hard to shake a certain. Protectiveness until quite,
RECENTLY i hadn't managed to throw out the memory of
children who needed to be gently coaxed through their dialogue
in a big scary.

Speaker 2 (32:12):
Film studio talking about those.

Speaker 1 (32:14):
Two for the past few, Years i've repeatedly declined invitations
from journalists to comment On, emma, specifically most notably on
the Witch trials OF.

Speaker 2 (32:22):
Jk.

Speaker 1 (32:23):
Rowling, IRONICALLY i told the producers THAT i didn't want
her to be hounded as the result of ANYTHING i.
Said the television presenter in the attached clip Highlights Emma's
All witches speech and in truth that was a turning
point for, me but had a PostScript that hurt far
more than the speech. Itself emma asked someone to pass
on a handwritten note from her to, me which contained

(32:43):
the single sentence, Quote i'm so sorry for what you're
going through.

Speaker 2 (32:46):
Unquote she has my phone.

Speaker 1 (32:48):
Number this was back when the, death, rape and torture
threats against me were at their, peak at a time
when my personal security measures had to be tightened considerably
AND i was constantly worried for my family's. Safety emma
had just publicly poured more petrol on the. Flames it
thought a one line expression of concern from her would
reassure me of her fundamental sympathy and. Kindness like other

(33:11):
people who've never experienced adult life uncushioned by wealth and,
Fame emma has so little experience of real. Life she's
ignorant of how ignorant she. Is, oh what a line
by a great. Writer she's ignorant of how ignorant she.
Is she'll never need a homeless. Shelter she's never going
to be placed on a mixed sex public hospital. Ward

(33:33):
i'd be astounded if she's been in a high street
changing room since. Childhood her public bathroom is single occupancy
and comes with a security man standing guard outside the.
Door has she had to strip off in a newly
mixed sex changing room at a council run swimming? Pool
is she ever likely to need a state run rape
crisis center that refuses to guarantee an all female service
to find herself sharing a prison cell with a male

(33:55):
rapist who's identified into the women's.

Speaker 2 (33:58):
PRISON i wasn't a million at. FOURTEEN i lived.

Speaker 1 (34:02):
In poverty while writing the book that Made emma. FAMOUS
i therefore understand from my own life experience what the
trashing of women's rights in Which emma has so enthusiastically
participated means to women and girls without her. Privileges the
greatest irony here is that Had emma do not decided
in her most recent interview to declare that she loves
and treasures me a change, ATTACK i suspect she's adopted

(34:25):
because she's noticed full throated condemnation of me is no
longer quite as fashionable as it.

Speaker 2 (34:29):
WAS i might never have been this.

Speaker 1 (34:31):
Honest adults can't expect a cozy up to an activist
movement that regularly calls for a friend's, assassination then assert
their right to the former friend's love as though the
friend was in fact their. Mother emma is rightly free
to disagree with, me and indeed to discuss her feelings
about me in. Public BUT i have the same, right
AND i finally decided to exercise. It Jk rowling full

(34:54):
body slam Of Emma watson figuratively of, course and using
her best weapon for, words
