Knock us down, We're gonna getup and on the way up, we're
gonna buy a kneecap. All forlong? Where's it going to be the
last from standing? This is whatthe greatest thing about sports? Did you
plays who win the game. That'swhy we took the damn fields. If
you want to crown them, theycrown your ass. But they are who
we thought they were, and wetalked about the look. Welcome to the

(00:25):
same old podcast. I'm Ron deMoss with Iheartsports Network along with Dapercat from
the Detroit Free Press, and I'mhappy to announce we have a sponsor.
Yeah, I think there should beballoons, a parade something. Victory Lank
Quick Oil Changes Metro Detroit's most trustedbrand for all your oil change and preventative

(00:46):
car care needs. They pride themselveson great customer service, which is why
they have received over eight thousand, eight thousand five star Google reviews. Lane

(01:10):
there's one a Victory Lane near youread where they are. Let's hear it
okay in Metro Detroit, including Brighton, Plymouth and two locations in ann Arbor.
Right there, you are sure tofind a location near you. Had
to Victory Lane dot net to findthe closest, the closest I could talk
location near you and join the VictoryLane Members Club to receive a discount and

(01:32):
your next oil change. Remember, only winners make it to Victory Lane.
We've got some winners to talk abouttoday, don't you. Lions, Yes,
we're getting to that. Lions wentinto Tampa, and I have to
say, I love the creams, the cold jersey, I do too.
The orange. I love the orange. I like color. It's really pretty.
It was really pretty and looked greaton TV. No, it was

(01:55):
pretty. Anyway. They went inthere held the box to six points out
of the end zone. That wasimpressive because at and to be honest with
you, Dave, they would havewon if it was ten six because the
defense played so well. Yeah,Nor the defense is playing really really good
football right now. I mean,I know we've talked about it, you

(02:17):
know, a couple weeks in arow here how good they've been. But
they shut down another running game andTampa hadn't run the ball great Baker Mayfield
had a couple forty six yards total, but you know, to hold that
offense to six points, that's thesecond time they've held the team without a
touchdown this year, one of onlytwo teams in the NFL to do that
so far. So a lot ofpeople had questions about Aaron Glenn and this

(02:38):
defense going into the season. Youknow, whether they were going to be
able to really pick up from wherethey left off last year, whether they'd
be able to sustain that against goodteams. I don't know that Tampa's a
great team, but they are stillin first place in the NFC South.
So to go down there to dothat for the second time this season,
that's a feather in the Lion's cap. Feather in Aaron Glenn's cap is defensive
coordinator. I was impressed with tamdefense as well, because it was a

(03:01):
defensive struggle the first half of thegame, because the Lions couldn't run on
them either, right, no,all game. Look, that's the why
Tampa could be in the playoffs atthe end of the day, because they
do have a good defense, andthe Lions struggled, especially after David Montgomery
got hurt. I mean, evenwhen he was on the field, they
didn't move the ball great. Theyonly had the two touchdown drives and one

(03:23):
of those was not sort of along you know, heave ho from Jared
Goff to Jamison. The other camefrom Jamison Williams. He actually caught something.
Yeah, I have to say watchingthat, he actually made the adjustment
to make the catch checks which washe must have been practicing that, you
know, using those drugs machines onehundred something whatever. Anyway, well he

(03:44):
is he is an NFL player andmakes a million dollars, so of course
he should be making those kind ofcatches. But it was an impressive catch.
Listen, we I mean, weare quick to jump on Jamo when
things don't go right for him whenhe drops passes, and rightfully, so
twelve, you know, number twelveoverall pick. There should be high expectations
on this guy. Let's give himcredit for that catch. You know,
it was it was It was ahigh degree of difficulty. He's running looking

(04:09):
over his right shoulder, had toturn around, look over his left shoulder,
spun halfway around again to make thecatch with a defender. That was
you know just about drape Don him. So I was watching for my film
review that I'm going to do forWednesday on fruit dot com. Was I
was watching all the snaps Jamison hadplayed the first two weeks, and you
know the Lions are they're still givinghim only a very small role on offense.

(04:31):
I mean, he's not it's atrust issue. It's it really is
a trust to build it. Yeah, he does. And but a play
like that can help with that inRonda, maybe it helps as much as
anything with his confidence because watching himin pregame warm ups last week, I
watched him run five routes in pregamewarmups. He dropped three passes, dropped

(04:54):
two passes, another one was outof his reach but it hit his fingertips.
So out of those five, hecaught two balls. That's not good.
No in pregame warmups running running routeson air, I think I think
something has to be you know,it's sort of maybe like the yips and
golf, right where like you've hadthese drops and people are questioning you,
or in baseball when you can't throwit to first base. Yeah, so

(05:15):
maybe there's so I think maybe aplay like that a big touchdown. Maybe
that's what he needs to sort ofget this going. You remember Jamar Chase
with the Bengals a couple of yearsago. He had some drop problems in
the preseason, and now he's oneof the best receivers in the NFL.
So things can change for a guyas talented as Jamison Williams. You're listening
to the same old podcast sponsored byVictory Lane, Quick Oil Change. I'm

(05:40):
Ron de Moss with iHeart Sports Networkalong with Da Briquette of the Detroit Free
Press, and I have to sayto me the play of the game,
Craig Reynolds and that block, Imean to get Aman free for the touchdown.
That block was so impressive, cameout of nowhere. I mean,

(06:00):
you know, this is what theLions sort of preached, right you block
till the end of the whistle.I mean, Craig Reynolds is a guy's
his initial responsibility on the play ispass protection in the backfield, and then
he leaks out into the flat youknow, golf throws that pass over the
middle of the field. Craig Reynoldscoming out of nowhere just lays Carlton Davis
out and that was the play ofthe game for I mean, look,

(06:23):
the Bugs tip the interception early on. The Lions really needed that because Mike
Evans was running deep, he wasgoing to be wide open. That's probably
a touchdown if Baker Mayfield throws thatpass. But the only touchdown of the
game up to that point until Jamison'scatch late was that one right there,
big third down conversion. It doesn'thappen unless Craig Reynolds comes out of the
backfield and lays that devastating him.Is Isaiah Bugs out of the doghouse?

(06:44):
Now, Yeah, it's kind ofyou know, I talked to him after
the game the other day, like, you know, is this a sense
of like I told you so,is there some you know, chip still
on your shoulder? And he's justsaid, you know, man, it's
maybe he's spewing the company line here, but he said he's bought in,
right. He's like, like,I'm buying into what the coaches, what
they say my role is. Andso he's back in their good graces.

(07:09):
They have a little three man rotationgoing at defensive tackle now with a Lee
McNeil, Bugs and Benito Jones. And you know, Bugs has played well
really since he's got back in thelineup. Let's review that he was in
the doghouse. He did not showup to off season workouts, right,
and he wasn't happy with the organization, and he was basically benched. Yeah,

(07:31):
I would say, I don't knowthat he wasn't happy with the organization.
He was not with his Yes,yeah, you're right, you're right
with his role this spring. Justto be clear, his wife was having
a baby. He stayed home.He didn't attend many of them. I
don't understand why they were mad atthat by and I don't know that they
were, but he thought they were. That was his impression of the whole
thing. And so he comes backto camp end of training camp. You

(07:54):
know, he's sort of playing secondstring behind Benito Jones. Like those tackles
you usually only bring one to agame, you know, right, So
he was inactive early on, hasbeen back in the lineup and has been
playing well. He's playing over LeviOnzerique, who you know, they gave
some snaps too early in the season. You know, a big part of
that run defense that is one ofthe best in the NFL right now,

(08:16):
it is I think it is thebest in the NFL. Right now,
now, speaking of the run game, David Montgomery went down in the second
quarter with a rib injury and acart Now it's cartilage. I don't I'm
not a doctor, so I don'tknow what express last night? Can you
play one? It's you know,I mean these Matthew Stafford had this sort

(08:41):
of injury a few years back. It's a tough thing to play with just
because it's constant pain, right, and if you get hit you can't breathe,
right, I mean for a runningback, right, yeah, taking
shots there all the time, right, So he's going to be down.
What did I tell you? DanCampbell was going to say, he's going
to be down. That's that's coachesspeak. Now, coaches. Here's the

(09:01):
funniest thing about head coaches. Ithink they don't want to talk about injuries
obviously, but the good ones willadmit it and give you something right right
when I covered the chief stick forMeal was head coach. Whenever we asked
about injuries. You know what,he would say, check the report.
No, he's got a knee,he's got a knee, shoulder, Thanks

(09:26):
for sharing. But we knew thathe was going to be out and it
was a knee injury. But hewouldn't say, oh, yeah, he
hurt his knee and he's oh,he's got a knee, And Dan Campbell
does the same thing. Yeah,I was going to say a lot of
coaches do that. They'll come inhe he's got an ankle, he hurt
his ankle. No, it doesn'tsay hurt, and he doesn't say injured,
got an ankle. He's going tobe down. It doesn't say he'll
miss a game. He's just goingto be down. And coach head coaches

(09:48):
do it because I don't think theydon't like to talk about injuries and they
don't want to be specific. It'slike hockey, it's like lower body injury.
Well, okay, it's it's sooh. Look, I think Dan
does a great job sharing information comparedto He's very Yes, he's very honest.
If you ask him, he willtell you. He tells you what

(10:09):
you need to know without you know, going overboard, right if you know,
if you're looking at it from theteam perspective. But I absolutely think
like there's you know, there's it'sgood for us. Look the David Montgomery
situation, he's probably going to beout till after the bye, that's just
a guess. Dan did not puta timetable on it. Well, he
did say down for a while,so yeah, he wasn't specific about how

(10:30):
long he will miss, whether he'lleven have to go on injured reserve or
not. But the Lions play theRavens this week, come back Monday night
against the Raiders, then they havea bye week, so there's a lot
I think, yeah, wiggle room, Yeah, a little wiggle room in
there that you don't have to puta player on IR right now if you
think, you know, maybe hecan be back coming off that buye.
I want to hear Dan Campbell afterthe game. I loved you know when

(10:54):
they do the you know, lockerroom crap. I got a couple of
game balls or now, defense, don't get pissed at me because it's none
of you guys, because all ofhis plays so damn good. I mean,
our defense is out standing. Joey, you hold somebody to six points
in this league, Holy crap, guys, That's what I'm talking about.

(11:16):
Okay, So it went to FoxJack Fox Special Teams and Jared Goffe because
he threw over three hundred yards tothree hundred and fifty three yards, two
touchdowns, no picks. But Iwant to correct something from last week.
You know, I was talking aboutJared Goff and I don't like when he
runs or he shouldn't leap or Iwas saying that because I don't want him

(11:39):
to get hurt. And I didsee him run and it's like Phoebe from
Friends in that episode where she's running, That's how he runs. I've never
got to describe Phoebe from Friends run. Can you give us an example?
Uh, she flails and and likeyou know, the legs are and that's
how Jared Goff runs. And Ijust want him to be protect it because

(12:01):
he goes down. I feel theregoes the season, Zach. I think
what I'm what I'm getting out ofthis is that Ronda is a big Lions
fan. No, I'm feeling protecting. I'm feeling hello. Yes, that's
why, no leaping, no runninglike Phoebe on Friends and no no tush

(12:24):
push. Just they have one ofthe best offensive lines in the league,
right, Yeah, protect him hegoes down there somewhere else, That's what
I'm saying. But anyway, so, but my favorite thing that Dan Campbell
said the other day was the energythat it presents and these fans feeling like

(12:48):
you know that that's and that's whatyou want, man, you want the
fans to feel like. Man,they're riding the wave with us, you
know, and we're on the highside right now. And uh and man,
they are all in and they're apart of it. I mean I
get texts all the time from fromfriends, family, and they refer to
thinking, Man, our receivers dida hell of a job to that.
You know, it's our and Ifeel like that's where our fantom is ours,

(13:09):
you know, and our guys aredoing this, and our guys are
That's what it's about. He's givenpermission for you, Zach, for you
Zach to say we our you couldsay it. I mean, I didn't
need Dan Campbell's permission. Well youhave it, I think. But now
that I have it, I feelawesome and we're going to super Bowl.

(13:33):
When he said that the other day, you were the first one that I
didn't know you had his phone number, texting him our receivers. Yeah,
that's great. It's honestly, we'rethe first one that popped into my mind.
When Man, I'm glad you thisis my first time hearing it,
So I'm glad you didn't ruin thatfor me. That's awesome. Right,
So Dan Campbell is giving all ofyou permission to say we our when you
too. Rondo, no no,no, no, no, no,

(13:56):
right. I will never do it. We are going to We'll never do
it, will never do it.Ever, you're not invited to the parade.
That's fine, that's fine. Ican watch from home. You're listening
to the same old podcast I'm Ronto Moss with I heard Sports Network along
with Dabracap from The Free Press sponsoredby Victory Lane Quick Oil Change. There's

(14:16):
another thing I have to say thatwith the Lions. You know, they're
playing so well. They're five andone along with the Eagles, Niners,
Dolphins, and Chiefs. And there'sone thing they need to upgrade. What's
up? They're touchdown celebrations a littleweek I've been. I watched the Dolphins.

(14:37):
Of course, they get to theend zone every other minute, and
they got the wattle and even theowner, Stephen Ross is doing the wattle
and his owners wife doing the Lions. Don't they need to upgrade their TD
celebra s Martha Ford doing the roaror something, and Sheila I'm kind of

(14:58):
with you, but you're remember whenthis was all the rage and it was
like Joe Fourier and Tony Scheffler. That was like what six years ago,
seven years ago. So they wentdown that path and they weren't very good
when they were doing. The celebrationswere great, don't get me wrong,
but the team wasn't that good.Well, now that they're good, bring
it. They could upgrade the TDcelebrations. On one hand, I find

(15:20):
it entertaining. On the other,my favorite was when Barry Sanders just got
in the end zone and handed itto the raft and said, here you
go. I'm good, I didmy job. I totally dig it.
I think it's I love when whenplayers get into it like that. It's
just something about I don't want themto get fined like Jamal Williams did last
year. He's going to get finedfor taking that cell phone and take it,
which I don't know why he tookit, because he did a backflip.

(15:43):
He wanted it, he wanted tofilm it himself. I think using
props right, Oh, you can'tsign a ball, you can't pull a
camera out from his right, right, some of those but Jamal didn't Jamal
Williams get fined last year for hisgyrating. He did, yeah touchdown and
Rod did not. I'm and Roddid it this year, but he only
he kept it to two pumps Ithink, or whatever whatever the delineation is.

(16:07):
Like he I asked him in thelocker room and he said, yeah,
he just found out he didn't getfined. This was a few weeks
ago, and so I think that'swhat it was. There's some yeah,
I think, but I do thinkthey need to upgrade their team. Michael
Wright wasn't didn't he have the themc kringleberry touchdown celebration where it was who's
that? He and Michael kay?Oh yeah, I don't know. Yeah,

(16:29):
that's where I don't know. Ilike when they're choreographed and they get
the offensive line involved. I likewhen they do the rowboat altogether. Yeah.
I just like when they all gettogether and do something. The Lions
haven't done that in a while.Yeah, you know, do they not
want to? Are they too professional? It should be a shock that is.
I Mean I've said this before.I think a big part of why

(16:51):
they're so good and why not justpeople in Detroit, but why people around
this country have latched onto the Lionsin some ways is because they're fun too,
Like they win in fun ways. The trick plays the going forward and
fourth down. That is a bigpart of, like I think, their
success, but also of the nationalnarrative of like this Lion's team is a
fun team to watch, and DanCampbell does this, and so your call

(17:15):
for more touchdown celebrations would fit intothat. I haven't asked anyone why they
don't do more choreograph, could youask? I'll have to ask. I'll
look into that this week. Yeah, and I wonder who would be good
at it, Like Aman is creative, so he would do a good job.
Marvin Jones Junior or is he tooold school? And just would I

(17:37):
mean, if you see some ofhis Instagram right, he can sing and
he can dance and should do itright. Yeah, although he's really not
playing much, so he needs toget in the end zone to have an
end zone celebration, a touchdown celebration. Jamior Gibbs kind of quiet, you
know, soft spoken. I wasquite surprised. It's not really their personality
of it, but I was surprisedJames Williams didn't do anything after he did

(18:02):
that turn around touchdown or rest stadium, you know, throwing a thousand,
one hundred dollars bills out to peoplebecause he's so he's a rich NFL player,
that's right. Yeah. Craig Reynoldssaid, he was, you know,
he was excited and he was goingto go run and try to try
to celebrate with Jamisonbody said that guy'stoo fast already, and then he just
started running around the stadium. SoI wasn't. That was his first career
touched out, yeah, second, second, second, So how come he

(18:26):
didn't? Like I think if adefensive player like Aiden Hutchinson, if he
gets a pick, do you thinkhe would do something in the end zone?
Do they leg he that is soold and he needs to you know,
upgrade that or let that go.Yeah. I think there are some
players that do some of these thingsvery fun and choreographing with their teammates.
And you mentioned the rowboat and youknow everyone's sitting down duck duck goose,

(18:49):
right, that celebrations from the past, Like that's what you have to have
to have fun and make it,you know, a good show. You
can't it can't just be the stankyleg off by yourself. Yeah, like
that, just that seems a littletoo self serving. And to your point,
Rondo right, Barry used to dowhere he just give the ball to
the you know, the ref andpeople was like, oh, he's respecting

(19:10):
the game, and look how he'sWell, when you incorporate your teammates,
you can have some fun, rightjust by yourself, Well you can't,
right, I don't. I don'twant to see any selfishness. I think
if you're scoring a touchdown, yourteam helped you get into the touchdown.
So the bowling ball and knocked theoffensive way right offensive line should be included
in that. But you know what'sinteresting, Dave Brikatt, I mean Eminem

(19:33):
Marshall Mathers. Did anybody say like, oh, you had to bring that
up last week? Eminem? Okay. Everyone may have Taylor Swift, we
have Eminem. Okay, that's allI'm saying. We have Eminem. We
have Eminem. Crions sent out aHappy Birthday to Eminem today. That's how
much Eminem is in the fold. No, it's his birthday today, Happy
birthday, Happy birthday. Did youget me don't let the door? Yeah

(19:59):
exactly. But he was at thegame a couple of weeks ago, and
when I was looking just to refresh, I'm like, oh my god,
Eminem, Dave kind of looks likeEminem. So my question is, as
anybody told you after I said it, that you look like Eminem well or
resemble or am I just crazy? And they're like, no way, I

(20:22):
don't know that anyone said I looklike Eminem. Maybe that I dropped I
can drop bars like them. Butmy mom did text me a listener to
the show, long time listener.First time she did text. I text
her the other day to let herknow my kids, you know, sports
schedules, weekend, I think, and you know all that that was going
on when I was out of town, and she wrote back like thanks Marshall.

(20:44):
So so I don't know if shethinks you, but she certainly was
listening to your Yeah you got that. I got so glad you got your
bra back, just saying any who, this time last year, Lions one
and five. Yeah, what adifference a year makes five and one.
One analyst that I heard yesterday suggestedLions could be the team from the NFC

(21:11):
to be playing in the Super Bowl. Was it, Zach? I would
have said, we though I don'twant to hear that now. I think
it's jinxy, you know what,I get it because your column article had
the path to home field advantage, and I'm like, too soon, too
soon, Daves. See again,Zach, I think we're gonna have to

(21:32):
have an intervention here first, becausethis is the inner Lions fan coming out.
She doesn't want them, jinks, she doesn't want Jared Goff. I
would like to see in my lifetimeat least a playoff home playoff win.
You're going to get that this year, but I think you need to just
you know, stop listen. Sofor those out there who didn't read it,
and I'm sure everyone read it,but for those who haven't got around

(21:53):
so popular, the Lions five andone tied for the best record in the
NFL. Right there's Dolphins of fortynine ers the Eagle and the only team
with a win over one of thoseother No. Yeah, perfect down the
road. Perfect on the road. They've beaten and they've won some pretty pretty
hostile places at Kansas City, youknow, at Green Bay never an easy

(22:15):
place. Tampa not quite as ishostile, but you know, d do
you know during that game? Sorryto interrupt, I think it was a
third quarter. I actually heard Let'sgo Lions on TV. Yes, I
mean it's it is extremely impressive howwell Lions fans have traveled and how well
they suppresed this. I always thoughtthey traveled well anyway, even in the

(22:37):
bad years, because they've all lookTampa, New Orleans, that's going to
be Who's not right. Yea's aroad field advantage because there are so many
like Lions fans at these places. And it's really I think we talked about
this last week, like it's fomo, it's fear of missing out. People
want to be a part of it. They're going on the road. If
you're living in those locales, you'regoing to these games. And and you
know Chicago, that's going to bea Lion's home game. There's not going

(22:59):
to be any Bears fans going tosee them play outdoors in December. So
there's a lot of there's a lotof Lions fans out there and they're coming
out and drove droves to support thisteam. But back to them being this
NFC Championship contender favorite, I don'tknow they're there's a good chance. I
think they end up with the bestrecord in the NFC. The Eagles have

(23:21):
a murderous skal. Their schedule isso I mean, I could say it's
easy because you know that the NFCis so NFC North is so bad this
year because they still have two againstthe Vikings, one against Green Bay,
two against the Bears. The Bears, so they play the Ravens this week,
team with the winning record. Theydon't play another team with the winning

(23:42):
record till weeks week seventeen seventeen.Dallas Cowboys, Yeah, don't be who
knows if they'll have a winning recordthen the Cowboys, you know, they're
so up and down to start theseason. I mean, look what they
did against the Niners and then obviouslycame back to beat the Chargers last night.
But I think there is something thatwe we have to put to bed.

(24:03):
Hype train needs to stop. Whyyou don't like the hype train.
It's a pre season thing. It'sover right, So yeah, I mean,
I guess, I mean the hypeis there, but I think it's
the context it was used was offseason. Well, now they're in season
and they're proving right now that thehype train is real. So I think

(24:26):
it needs that needs to go,right, am I wrong, They're they're
definitely more than hype. I mean, they are legit, right, Hype
is pre right, Like, let'sget rid of the hype train. There's
still a lot of people on thetrain. I don't know, can we
still use the train that they're riding? What are you going to use in
front of the train instead of hype? We upgraded to a car going business

(24:52):
class. I mean, if you'retalking about the Lions, like obviously they
were the talk of the NFL butfor the season, and now they're talk
of the NFL now at five andone. Hype is preseason talk, so
it's real now. So that that'swhy I say it needs to be put

(25:14):
to bed or am I just crazy? No? I mean I'm crazy,
but you know what, Yeah, exactly, Yeah, I mean I think
yes. But the flip side ofthat round is like whenever people talk about
Super Bowl, you say, well, it's too early. It's too early,
right, because they haven't done ityet, So there has to be
some hype looking forwardness. If that'sthe word. Okay, well let's wait

(25:36):
till the season's over and then youcan bring it back or towards the end
of the season, let's okay,I you could talk about it. When
I see the asterisk or whatever thatthat they've clinched something, that's when we
can start talking about the super Bowl. Yes, the playoffs, Yes,
what fun is that we could talkabout? You could talk about it all

(25:59):
you want. I just think it'sa little jinxy. Well I'm superstitious.
Yeah, see, there we go. It is what you did to Jared
GoF blame. Blame us for theinterceptions. I tried to unjink them.
You said I couldn't do that. There's no such thing as an unjinx.
Okay, and you know again, stay in the pocket. I think the

(26:25):
Lions are a legitimate threat to thesuper Bowl, and there is still a
lot of hype about what this teamis and what they can be. But
they have certainly lived up to thehype. They are the real deal.
So if you want to retire hypetrain, we have to come up with
something else. That'll be your jobthis week, next week. I expect
you to give me an answer. But we have plane, we have Okay,
you need to stop. Okay, hype plane. That is stupid hype.

(26:52):
Nothing we're getting rid of hype. Are you not paying it? What
are you doing? Back there. There's got to be some acronym for real,
likely right with the L at theLions r E A L. Right,
and then we'll come up with andthen we'll make T shirts teams sometimes
real something. This is why you'rehired. I love this. Okay,
we have to talk about the Ravens. So they're heading on the road for

(27:15):
a second straight week to Baltimore takeon the raven who beat the Titans in
London. Great defense. I thinkthey lead the league defensively, right or
seventh or maybe seventh in the league, in the top ten in most categories.
Yeah, it's gonna be tough totake down Lamar Jackson, right,

(27:36):
Yeah, I mean, you know, this is a better team than Tampa
was last week. So they're goingon a road, more hostile environment,
right, There won't be quite asmany Lions fans. Tampa's a placers.
A lot of my cousin's going Jason, Yeah, he goes to He's going
there into New Orleans. The Lionsowe him a jersey. He travels well.
I gotta say he spent a lotof money. Yeah, I think.

(27:57):
I mean, if I'm being honest. As we sit here recording this
on a Tuesday. I'll probably pickedthe Ravens to win this game. I
mean, the Lions are not goingto go sixteen to one. They're going
to have some bumps along the way. No, David, I see this
as a loss. I do.The Ravens did a pretty good job against
Tennessee, a Tennessee team that likesto run the ball last week. I
mean, I know Derek Henry dida little bit in that that, you

(28:18):
know, second half. They don'thave a David Montgomery this Sunday. Montgomery,
it's going to be tough to runthe ball. And Jamier Gibbs trending
in the right direction, but we'restill not sure if he I mean,
he's trending, that's all. I'mgonna say. He's trending in the right
direction. From the hamstring injury. We'll be back. We'll see. You
know, when I talked from lastweek in the locker room, he said,
you know, Friday, he'd knowby and Dan seemed to say he

(28:41):
was doing good in his rehab. We'll find out this week at practice.
But round I will say this, you know, the Lions have been really
good defensively against the run. Aswe've talked about, I know the Ravens
want to get away from Lamar runningit, and they've they've done that to
a certain extent, but that's stillwhat he's best at. That's still what
that team, that offense is bestat. So I don't think this is
a terrible matchup for the Lions fromthat standpoint. Like I expect this to

(29:03):
be a close game. I mightbe worried if it was the Dolphins in
that offense, Yeah, secondary wouldhandle that. But I think this is
a close game that's going to comedown to a field goal. Oh god,
yeah, And Justin Tucker right,we saw it sixty six yards a
couple of years ago at Ford Field. Not predicting that happens, but I
think it's that sort of game whereit's hanging in the balance in the fourth

(29:25):
order for once after four straight downTheir biggest job defensively is obviously containing Lamar
Jackson always is, and again he'snot running as much as he has in
the past. Everyone knows him ashis mobile quarterback. He still is the
best scrambler in the NFL if hewants to be. But the Ravens have
a new offensive coordinator this year,so they've tried to take that out of
him. Everyone saw a couple ofweeks ago, the Ravens had like five

(29:47):
drop touchdown passes and last week theyI think Tucker hit five field goals.
Like they just weren't very good inthe red zone. So that offense in
Baltimore is you know, and theywere overseas last week, so maybe there's
something to that. But you know, that offense is not clicking yet in
Baltimore. But watch with Lamar.I do think that's a spot where it's

(30:07):
not not that they're going to getright, but I think they'll be better
offensively. Yeah, exactly. Iforgot to ask you when since Dan Campbell's
giving fans permission to say our we, would you say our we? Or
you're like me? You don't?Am I a fan? No? Neither
am I. That's why I oncesat. But I'm just wondering, have

(30:30):
you ever you grew up here?So were you a Lions fan growing up?
I? Yeah, I certainly wasa fan of like I mean,
yes, I guess. Or yougot into the business. Were you a
WE guy when talking about your sportsteams? I was probably a very different
like sports viewer for most of mylife. Like I always I would watch.
I'm sort of like I equate thisto my son now, like he'll

(30:52):
watch something on TV, but hedoesn't really watch it, like he'll see
it and then he's like, Dad, can we go outside and play?
And that was, Oh, that'scool. So I would watch sports,
but then i'd go out in thefront yard and I'd be Anthony Carter or
Barry Sanders or who I was whoeverI was watching right when I was young.
So, yes, I watched theLions. I grew up in Detroit.
You know, I watched Michigan football, but i'd be you know,

(31:14):
their quarterback going out and playing inthe front yard. Or basketball, I'd
have my own It's kind of anerdy basketball guy, right, I'd have
my own teams in my head,Like all right, I'm gonna be you
know, Charles Barkley this time.Do you have any friends? Yeah?
