(00:00):
Good morning. It is Saturday,May twenty seven, twenty twenty three,
and this is Saturday Morning Open phoneson news Radio six ten WTVN. My
name is Bob Randolph. Over therebehind the glass in master control. That
is Ella handling phone calls at Atwo wy WTVN or one eight hundred six
ten WTVN. All right, let'sget into it. Not a whole lot
(00:21):
going on national day wise today, but I like where we're at with things.
It is National Grape Day. Ilike grapes. I like grape jelly,
I like all that good stuff.Wine wine is good too. It's
and it's National Grape Popsicle Day evenbetter. And then it is last but
not least, National Cellophane Tape Day. How that ties into the grapes,
(00:46):
I'm not sure yet, but we'llfigure something out. Lots of stuff going
on around town this weekend. Man, it is a busy Memorial Day weekend.
And before we get too far withthat, everybody says you always hear,
have a happy Memorial Day. AMemorial Day is a solemn occasion,
all right. It's so we're rememberingthose who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our
(01:08):
country, for you and for I. In what they were doing in service
to our country. So remember thatover the weekend, it's not necessarily happy
Memorial Day, but you get toenjoy an extra day. You get to
enjoy the freedoms because of some ofthose folks who put their ultimate their life
on the line for you and Ithe ultimate sacrifice as you will. So
(01:29):
just keep that in mind. Speakingof which, the Field of Heroes,
if you're up around the Westerville WayWesterville Sports Complex, you can check that
out. The flags are all plantedand that will start at noon. They'll
start having some events up there,so you want to check that out.
Got the Asian Festival going on atFranklin Park over the weekend. And let's
see Sonic Temple is that historic cruStadium. If your rock, if you're
(01:53):
doing country, you want to dothat. It's gonna be a good one.
Buckeye Country Superfest that is at theShoe later on tonight at Ohio Stadium.
And then for those of you whojust kind of want to avoid all
that, maybe you go, youknow, want, I think I'll go
to the zoo. Today looks likea good day to It is a good
day to go to the zoo becausethe weatherwise, it's gonna be very nice.
(02:13):
They are debuting their adventure Skywheel today. That's one hundred and ten feet
to the top of that bad boy. Get you a good look at the
zoo there. Sports Wise, theReds blank the Cubs nine to nothing.
Yeah, I know, I couldn'tbelieve what I saw it. Guardians were
a winner over the Cards four tothree. Clippers on the wrong side of
a seven to three loss yesterday tothe Indianapolis Indians. They will play again
(02:36):
tonight seven o five. That's atHuntington Park and it's Star Wars night and
they're gonna do some fireworks after thegame. So should be fund there again.
Lots to do, just a tonof stuff to do this weekend.
And if you are, if youdo happen to be one of those folks
that has that extra day off, enjoy it all right, just to kind
(02:57):
of rest, relax, recharge yourbatteries. That's kind of well. I'm
actually gonna put a faucet in atmy house over the weekend. I think
that's that's been on tap for thelast couple of weeks. But we'll see
what happens with that. Two wtvN one hundred and six ten WTVN.
If you would like to be inon the show, let's go to the
Legacy Retirement Group dot com phone linesand Dave, you're on six ten WTVN.
(03:19):
Good morning, Dave, Good morningBob. And Captain America says,
eat that great, Pops. Theyare good on a hot day. Yes
they are, Yes they are.You cannot beat him. No on this
mcmorial day. My dad he's servingWorld War two, and he talked about
the friends he lost on they hitthe beaches in the Pacific. And I
(03:40):
can think back and when I wasin Somalia, there were some ones and
a few of my man in myplatoon made the ultimate sacrifice and Samalia.
And I like what you said,Bob, but it's more it's a remembrance
of them men and women who defendedthis country and that's been died in the
(04:01):
art and and I and we thinkback about the sacrifices some mate. I
myself seeing stuff at most average personwouldn't want to see. And I know
I cut up a lot, butbut the point of thing is when you
go out there, it's just damnor or you get damn or they get
(04:24):
you. It's it's a real storyof it. And and there's uh yeah
there, there's not a whole lotof ambiguity around that exactly. And the
movies try to make a colorful inthis and that it's nothing like the movies.
Some of them can show a littlebit of it until you're really there.
It is not what they think itis. I'll be truthful about that.
(04:46):
It is. It can get nastyat times. It's the way it
is and the stuff. But Iappreciate all what this great country has done.
I noticed country has its faults, but still the good old USA.
And that's all I can say aboutthat. And I do want to bring
up though, by my crazy dogVan. We're gonna be performing and this
(05:10):
weekend, so we're looking forward tothat. We're gonna be in the Wilmington
area and I just can't wait toget on them there. The main thing
is, I gotta keep that drummersober, no matter what fat or whatever
it is. He just I thinkhe can smell alcohol block away. Some
of those guys can. You neverknow they some of them can't tell you
(05:32):
involved. But he's such a gooddrummer. I know my brother. He's
a leader of the band, andhe really gets angry at him. I
said, I said, look atKeith Moon and the who. That guy
was out of it all the timeuntil I killed him. So but it
gets fun. And then I gotthat schedule to do and then I'm going
(05:53):
to go to us. There's supposedto be a car show. I always
like to look at the car showsthere too, so i'll be interesting.
Where you playing at, Dave?Where you playing at the time, it's
a it's a Wilmington park. It'sdown there, but Wilmington. It's a
park as you go on the otherside of their close to Caesar Creek.
Okay, where what what night areyou? Where are you playing? Uh?
(06:15):
We should be We're going to beplaying uh tonight. We got there
from between nine and uh ten ors. Three bands playing and so we each
want to play and it's more ofa benefit to help then. So I
saw our schedule there and then we'regoing to be closer though, Bob Uh.
We're supposed to be scheduled sometime tobe playing in the Columbus area.
(06:41):
I haven't got the whole schedule becauseI haven't talked to my brother yet.
He's the main Hauncho album gotcha.Yeah, and so no, when there
we're get close up, I wantyou to come and see us. Yeah,
absolutely, Yeah, let let meknow when you when you get a
little closer. I've already had plannedfor tonight, but uh, otherwise I
haven't made the trip down to Wilmington. I go down that by pass there
on the you'd enjoy it, youknow where I'm talking about this Caesar crick
(07:03):
every day. Yeah, I do, like I said too. And and
if you see that when you domeet us, you see a starry ard
drummer, you know he's drunk thenand then I gotta bring up my cartoon
character for I'll let you go absolutelyand yeah, ast Road the dog in
dog years he would be about onehundred and five. But Astro now can
(07:28):
sit back in the dog house andget the Social Security checks. So that's
really good Road or Yeah, hey, Bob, you have a great day,
and God bless them RK and youtake care all right, Dave,
you take care as well. Thankyou for the call. Appreciate an eight
one WTVN. What eight hundred andsix ten WTVN. Let's go to Wendy
Year on sixten w WTVN. Goodmorning, good morning, Hey Ella,
(07:54):
Bob, it's good to talk toyou. Well, boy is important,
um eighteen. It's very important rightnow because our history is being lost in
political correctness. So if we couldtalk about those people maybe in our family.
There's family searched out org that isabsolutely free. You can go and
(08:16):
find these people and say these peopledied serving their country and they are family,
and that is very important because withoutthem we wouldn't be free right now,
and freedom is not free. There'ssome books this summer that I would
(08:37):
suggest that you may not be ableto find your library because there is book
banning in America. And so there'sThe Emperor's New Clothes that is very good.
The Little Redhead is excellent, andPinocchio. Now those all have principles.
(09:03):
For those that don't know. TheEmperor's New Clothes about a child,
there are some people stealing the governmentblind. It's telling the emperor new clothes
which only two hearded people could seeuntil the child said there is there.
You have no clothes. So thereis another book that is about what a
(09:28):
child said to somebody that was whobroke the baby. This is not for
children, it's not X rated. It's about adult issues that relate to politics.
In Ohio, it's called who brokethe baby. We also need to
remember that in June there is afifth pay day for some people. If
(09:52):
you get paid weekly, maybe acouple will get a third pay day on
in June. I would suggest consideringthe new IRIS agents that we are going
to have that you if you haveincome, pay quarterlies, prepay quarterlies,
or prepay your real estate taxes.Even if you have a mortgage, you
(10:18):
can pay the real estate taxes andthat will when they build your mortgage,
will reduce your escrow, and sothat eventually should reduce your payment. But
in case somebody accidentally acquires your loanand your escrow disappears, you will have
(10:39):
no problem with the state treasure. You'll have to keep doing this. Though,
I would suggest people do not blowmoney. I think they should be
You should be serious. You canprepay bills, you can pre pay taxes,
and have yourself in a situation thatis good an emergency fund. I
(11:00):
would suggest having a little bit ofcash on the end. Absolutely, Wendy,
I think America good stuff. Thankyou, Wendy A two one WTVN
one one hundred and six ten WTVNif you would like to jump in,
A couple of lines open for youright now. We'll take a break.
We'll be back at it. Moreof your calls on Saturday morning open phones

ten WTVN. My name's Bob Randolph. Over there, barely above the monitors
and master control as I can see, I just see some eyeballs in there
at Ella. She's handling calls ateight two one WTVN or one eight hundred
six ten wtv Maybe I'll post apicture to my Facebook. You can find
me at Bob Randolph Radio on Facebook. Maybe I'll take a picture when she's
(11:46):
not looking now she's now, she'sfighting altogether. Anyhow, all right,
let's go back to it. Yourcalls on the Legacy Retirement Group dot com
phone lines. Let's go to Bob. You're on six ten wtv A.
Good morning, Bob. This isBernie. Bernie. Okay, sorry about
that. That's mind fault. Wehad some issues with the computer earlier,
so some of the names didn't goin right. Go ahead, Bernie,
(12:09):
Okay, thank you. I didn'tget to this last week. If you,
if you tried to hiro Steam ofPeace Memorial Wikipedia. There's a listing
of visitors. This is what theBiden Harris administration allowed to be there through
the entire G seven is there todayyou see Barack Obama visited May twenty seven,
twenty and sixteen, John Kerry,Secretary of State, April twenty two,
thousand and sixteenth. No, it'sApril eleventh, that's the one hundred
(12:31):
and twenty seventh birthday. They AdolfHitler. That's a mistake and they refused
to change it during the entire system. But also I mentioned last week that
again the Russians came up with Obamafive hundred sanctions on the nineteenth when Biden
went into the memorial. But therewere three senators chosen for propaganda value.
You can find a listing on politicalbut the one that stands out is again
(12:52):
s jd. Vance believe a buckguy like to Yale Law School. That's
again Hillary. And but the pointbeing is that there was a protest in
Arlington. As I mentioned last weekagain that they headed really announced that for
section thirty three and on four twentyI shouldn't be five to twenty four,
And you can see it there that'swhen they listed that again Biden would be
(13:15):
appearing in Arlington. Well, there'sa protest that's replaced that day. But
before I get to that, justover here, how about that historic coming
out of Ronda scientists. I mean, this is the social we had the
second richest man in the world,Musk, We've got a Twitter platform,
unprecedented and what did he do tothirty three the flag? And this we've
(13:35):
seen internationally. My favorite of theDBC there's a three three second video with
three three stars on the on theleft side four times. The French had
a one thirty three second video. But then there happens the next day.
That's the seventieth anniversary of the correctportrayal of the flag and Arlington. Now
let's go back to what happened there. And this is something that really got
(13:58):
to me. A three thirty amon four twenty four, there were thirty
three days that we're going to beburied that day, an unprecedented number.
At nine o'clock there were thirty two. What did they take out? They
took out Ellen Davis again, nomilitary designation two o'clock. Why it's got
important the last medal of honor thatthis man gave before he's going to go
to Arlington, was to Paris Davis. I understand what he did, lays
(14:20):
and gentlemen. He announced it onthree one, gave it on three three,
unprecedented time difference. The three onewas his one year anniversary. And
then this is the last medal ofhonor before he's going to show up on
Monday on Jack Kennedy's birthday. Thethree one was his one year anniversary of
the state of the Union. Andthis is I'm going to end with.
Three one twenty two was one onehundred twenty third birthday. Three one twenty
(14:43):
three was one hundred and twenty fourthbirthday of Eric von bach Zaruski, a
Nazi. And what he did ishe duplicated what Barack Obama did once twelve
sixteen, one hundred twenty third birthdayof Herman Gelling one twelve seventeen. It's
actually get his medal if three withdistinction. Oh, by the way,
Jerry advanced, can you remove thedaring quote? Thank you very much?
(15:07):
All right, Martie, thank youas always for the call. Eight two
one WTVN one one hundred and sixten WTVN will take a break bottom of
the hour news coming up as well, and more of your calls on Saturday
Morning Open Phones on News Radio sixten WTVN. Saturday Morning Open Phones on
News Radio six ten WTVN. Myname is Bob Randolph. Over there,
(15:28):
that's Ell. If you look atmy Facebook page it's at Bob Randolph Radio,
you will see just the very topof Ella's I took the picture while
you weren't paying attention. It's Ellain ambush is what I call it.
So if you want to check thatout again, it's at Bob Randolph Radio
on Facebook. And as I lookaround the studio here, you know,
(15:50):
things change. I come in basicallyonce a week. I'm here on Saturdays
unless I'm needed at other times. But I walked in here and there's a
behind me. In the studio here, we have one of the logos on
the back wall, which normally youwould go, that's not unusual. It
was hung up with thumb tacks. There are as I'm sorry, pushpins.
(16:15):
There are pushpins holding that's logo behindme, right, and that's that's pushpins
holding that up. The high tech, high tech mauling system that we use
here at six ten TV. Let'sgo back to it. Oh the Legacy
Retiming Group dot com phone line.Let's go to deck. You're on sixten
do TV. A good morning, sir, Good morning, Happy Memorial Day
to everybody. Well not really happy, but well well we'll treat it as
(16:38):
such. You know, Dave moreor less talk to the story about my
family was all. My dad wasin the Navy, My uncle was in
the army. Uncle Chuck was Unknawa. But Dave and I have something in
common, Bob and Ella. Iwant to try maybe to go see him.
But we played music, and Iwould like to love that. You
(17:00):
guys, come hear us play sometime. You know. I'm always I got
one job this week. But Daveseems like he's a really interesting musician,
you know. Yeah. Yeah, when I get closer to Columbus, I'm
definitely gonna make the point to gosee him. Yeah. Yeah. And
if you're in you know, downin Dayton, you're always welcome, you
know. Yeah, I appreciate it. I don't make my way over to
(17:21):
Dayton all that often. It's rare, although I would like to get over
to Yellow Springs at some point becausefrom what I hear, that's pretty there.
Yeah, I've heard great things aboutYellow Springs. I'd like to get
over there and check it out. There's a Clifton Opera house there. We
used to play and they're booked upand one of my friends played there last
week. And I'm telling you,Bob, I've never heard of band this
good. And then Thursday we play, and then I think Friday, I'm
(17:44):
going to go over, but theybring people. It's you know, where
the wine is, you know,in that area. But they got a
good crowd there and you know it'smy buddy I told you about. Chris
wants me to play. There's aclub in Dublin. He said it was
good. But yeah, I'm gonnajust take it easy. I got some
things to do and uh maybe doa little jam. And but you know,
(18:07):
it's it's just so nice to wakeup and you know, I know
things are bad, but you know, I at least look, Bob and
lead it to the positive side ofthings. And I love people and I
know people, and uh, youknow, it's nice to just be,
you know, to get around andpick everybody up, you know, And
I enjoy you guys too. Well, we appreciate that, Dick. And
(18:30):
of course I'll always appreciate the call, and one of these days maybe I
won't get over there to see youplay. Okay, well listen, have
a good one, all right, you do the same, Thanks for the
call. Eight two one WTVN oneeight hundred six ten WTVN. If you
would like to jump in, let'sgo to Michael. You're on sixten WTVN.
Good morning, Hey, Good morning, Bob. I can be working
(18:51):
on my birthday, Bob, wellnumber one, Happy birthday, U and
I work on my birthday. Soit's I just you know, I had
somebody asked me one time, Iyou know how you get those telemarketers that
call, Like the mortgage company thatI go through, they called one time
because they wanted to refinance my house, and it was like about two years
(19:15):
after I bought the house. Andshe goes, so, how, mister
Randolph, how long do you thinkthat you will work? I said,
probably until I drop And there wasjust dead silence on the other end of
the line. She had no cluehow to respond to the back to that.
I'm thinking that's not in your littlemanual of pre program responses, is
it. I had a couple ofthings I wanted to call him, sis,
(19:38):
you're talking about band guys. Imean, even though I quit playing
a long time ago, I'm stillon the internet. But I had a
funny story when I played. Ineeded a bass player for two weeks.
I had a bunch of shows comingup, and I rehearsed. We had
a rehearsal. I rehearsed this guyand I said, hey, you sound
real good. I said, here, we played four nights a week and
it's one hundred dollars a night. And I got three rules. And he
(20:02):
said, what's that And I said, well, there's no drinking what we're
playing. There's no doing drugs, and no chasing women. And he put
his base back in his bag.He says, what the hell do I
want to play with you guys?Right, I say, you're taking all
the fun out of it right there. Wow. Yeah, So I thought
I thought Dick and Day might enjoyedthat story. But anyway, that one
(20:25):
of the reasons I call it inwas I was shocked about Stuart Rose.
I don't know if you're familiar withhim, but he's the head of Oathkeepers.
Oh okay, I know you're talkingabout now, Yeah, okay,
he got eighteen years he didn't gointo the building, he didn't tell anybody
to go into the building. Andhe got picked up a year after January
(20:45):
sixth and got eighteen years. Andthey said he was a threat to ourn't
democracy. That's what the judge said. And I wish the judge and all
politicians would realize that we have arepub we don't have a democracy, So
I would like to get that out. You'rect that, okay, And then
(21:07):
also eighteen years because he's a threatto our republic. Well, I don't
think he's any bigger threat than ChristopherRay and James Comey with the FBI where
they went in and lied to afight report and got and was able to
spy when a president and actually changedthat election. I don't think he's in
(21:30):
a bigger threat than that. Idon't think he's a bigger threat than the
CIA who actually murdered people and othercountries had to stay and was a part
in murdering our own president here inthe United States, John F. Kennedy
improvement back now, you know,it just doesn't match up. And I
don't think he's a bigger threat.And I hate to say this, but
(21:52):
I don't think he's a bigger threatthan Joe Biden, who's letting fourteen million
people come in here, letting allthe drugs come in here and taken money
from China and his family. StewartRose amount a bigger threat to him.
So I don't know. So wedo have two sets of governments, now,
is that right? Well? Imean there, there's it's very clear
(22:15):
that depending it's it's becoming clearer tome at least, and again just my
opinion, and you know, maybeyou agree, maybe you don't that we
are seeing differences in the way thingsare handled. That that is for sure.
Um. You know, again,I don't know the whole story with
(22:36):
with the founder. I don't knowall the background on that, so I
don't want to say anything that mightbe wrong there. But as far as
you're saying, you know, ishe a bigger threat than Christopher Ray or
the the FBI or the CIA,I think it's become very clear that the
FBI and probably most likely the CIAas well, have become politically charged weapon
(23:00):
because of the things that they doand don't prosecute. I mean, we're
starting to see evidence of that. And I truly, honestly hope that all
of the information comes out. Ireally do, because there's so much that
you and I don't know. AndI say this about a lot of things
that happens at the high government level, because there are things that you and
I are never ever going to knowabout, but what we are seeing.
(23:22):
I hope that the truth comes outone hundred percent and exposes what's going on,
because there is definitely something going on. There is definitely a two tiered
system that is in place here basedupon what your political persuasion is, and
it's got to stop. I meanthe FBI, the CIA. The CIA
has always been kind of a shadyblack ops type organization if you ask my
(23:47):
opinion, the FBI should be thegold standard as to here's how everything should
run. It should be equal acrossthe board. I don't care that they
should even care what your political persuasionis. That shouldn't even factor into anything.
It should be here's the laws, here's how we're going to handle this.
If it's a federal offense and theFBI needs to get involved, I
(24:11):
don't want them ask him whether I'ma D or an R. It shouldn't
matter. And that's how they shouldhandle things, and they very clearly are
not, and that is a problem. Yeah, I agree, And I
wanted to tell you too that Ienjoy talking to you because I got a
feeling that we could probably disagree ona lot of things, but I also
had the feeling that I could reasonablytalk to you. And I think that's
(24:33):
a good qualitative person. And Iwant to commend you for that. Well,
Michael, I appreciate that. Thankyou very much. You know,
I try to I try to seethings down the middle if I can.
I mean, I you know,I'm I like to say that I'm a
Republican or conservative, let's put itthat way, conservative, because I don't
think tying to a party necessarily isalways the best thing. I'll listen to
(24:56):
reason. If you are a reasonableperson, I will listen into a reasonable
argument. I always have, Ialways will. I won't change on that
because I think we need more ofthat in this country. We've gotten so
far away from being able to havea reasonable, honest conversation with people that
you know, it's just it makesthings tough. There there is no center
(25:17):
anymore. You either have to beleft or right or you're wrong. And
that's not the way that it shouldbe. We should be able to see
the compromise. If again, ifyou're a democrat and you have a hundred
ideas and only one of them isgood, you know I shouldn't say,
well, you have a hundred ideasyou're a democrat, they're all wrong.
No, you've got one good ideaout of there, and we can work
with that, and vice versa. The opposite should be able to be said
(25:40):
on the other side. The factthat we can't do that right now is
just mind boggling to me. Youknow, this country is built on the
fact that we are all different. If you want us to all be in
lock step, man, that Igot some old textbooks that you can look
at. Are some old manuscripts.I believe one of them would come from
let's see marks. You could probablysee what they were doing in Germany several
(26:04):
years ago. And take that.We can all be a lockstep if you
want. You get what you getwhen you do that. The fact that
you and I have differences are whatmakes us go forward. Amen. Amen,
folk, if you're if you're workingon my next birthday, I'll call
you again. I'm sure I probablywill be. Michael, thank you for
(26:26):
the call. Certainly appreciate have agreat Weekend eight two one WTVN one eight
hundred and six ten WTVN. Let'sgrab one more here, let's go to
gym. You're on six ten wtvA. Good morning gym, Hey,
Bob, how are you doing?I'm done all right? How are you?
Hey? I'm done, I'm doneall right. Hey. You know
what you know, I listened toyou guys all the time, and I've
(26:48):
said that before, but you hitupon something very well. It's it's the
education process that our schools are notteaching these young kids, and that's the
reason why we're in this havoc. But that's not the real reason. I
just wanted to comment on your commentbecause that's the root cause of our demise
(27:10):
right now. And that's the reasonwhy the FBI, idea j CIA are
all weaponized, because there's no cleaningof the slate when there's a different party
in and power, and they're weaponizingthose institutions against the other side. And
right now, the Democrats have hada run of the table for a very
(27:33):
long time, and it started withBarack Hussaint Obama. Right everybody tells sorry
for him because of his nationality, and you know, and how he and
how he was perceived. But inthe bottom line of it is that's when
the downward spirals started. Nixon didthis. Yeah, I don't necessarily disagree
(27:59):
with that one thing about I dowant to say, uh, in combat
back to you, uh you knowwhere you say that they should go in
and clean you know, clean house, you know, with every administration.
See, that's the whole thing. We shouldn't have to Those organizations should exist
and run without that having to bedone, because then they're not running correctly
because they should be independent. TheFBI, the CIA should not I mean
(28:22):
that they should execute the orders thatare given to them by the by the
president. I have no problem withthat, because then it's a president that
I have an issue with. Butthose organizations, but those organizations should not
base how they handle things based ona D or an R by your name.
It should be this is the law, this is what we're going to
(28:45):
follow, period and a story. That's how it should roll. WHOA,
Yeah, I agree with, butthat's not that's not the way that it's
rolling right now. No, itis not. You are correcting at These
people are getting end of these positionsbecause of the president, and they have
to pledge loyalty to the president. And if they don't, well, then
(29:07):
they will be removed. The pledgeit to the You pledge it to the
