(00:00):
Hope you're all are having a great, great day wherever you are, whenever
you're listening to this podcast. AndJack, I'm happy to welcome back.
This is a repeat guest Ohio GOP'stragist Bob Clegg, because there's a whole
lot to talk about. Bob,welcome back to Saving Liberty. Well,
(00:21):
thank you, Josh, and Ihope I don't repeat myself. No,
I don't think you got plenty ofdeep thoughts. Okay, so plenty of
thoughts. I don't know how deepthey are. Well, yeah, didn't
you were? You just got backfrom Italy not too long ago, right,
Yes, I did, Yeah,a couple of weeks ago. Now,
(00:41):
what's the political climate in Italy?Because I feel like they don't put
up with some of the stuff wedo. Yeah, Maloney is the Prime
Minister now, and she's really Imean she's good. I mean I really
really like her. And she's kindof euroskeptic, but she's not like way
out there eurosceptic. I mean sheuh, she's she didn't put up with
(01:06):
stuff. The big thing that wasgoing on when I was there was that
mass of six thousand people from Libyathat washed up on their small island Lampapoosa
or something like that, where thetotal population of the island is five thousand.
So they doubled more than doubled insize by by one influx of of
(01:32):
people from northern Africa. And uh, I mean, it's it's it's it's
just like our southern border. It'sjust like a sieve and people are just
coming over. And she she's beenpretty hardcore though on this, on you
know, getting the you know, people coming in from Africa and Middle East,
(01:57):
and you know she's not putting upwith it. Well, yeah,
I mean, listen, there's onlyso much you can do. There's only
so much you can't help others ifyou don't help yourself. Yeah. And
it's amazing that we have all theseillegal immigrants and cities like New York and
Chicago and all over that they're takingthese illegals and they're putting them up in
(02:19):
luxury hotels and meanwhile we have ourown citizens sleeping and veterans sleeping on the
streets. I mean, I don'tThis is what burns me. Why do
federal criminals get treated better than UScitizens? Yeah, good question. It
seems like this administration, the Bidenadministration, doesn't want to do anything except
(02:45):
welcome all these people that are floodingour border. I mean, it's just
gotten out of control. And Ilove what Governor Abbott did. I never
would have guessed when he started buzzingpeople up to New York and cargo in
LA I never would have guessed thathe would have had the impact that he's
had. I mean, these people, you know, those cities are hurting
(03:09):
and hurting that and they deserve itbecause they were willing to just sit back
and let Texas and Arizona take allthe brunt of this, and they were
going to be sanctuary city, sanctuarystate. M okay, fine, then
put your money where your mouth is, you know. So Josh just said
(03:30):
that, you know, criminals gettreated better than citizens, and I would
take that one additional step and say, uh, political adversaries get treated like
criminals. So I want to lookover to New York City today and I
want to get your take on this. I have not been able to discern
all the facts of the case.My understanding, though, is that the
(03:51):
Trump businesses, whenever they're transacting businesson forms, say, uh, first
of all, don't rust our estimateson values. You have to do that
on your own. So there's ahuge caveat. Nonetheless, they're claiming that
Donald Trump inflated the prices of assets, and so there's two questions here and
(04:15):
one, first of all, Ithink property assessors all across the country ought
to be counting their blessings tonight thatthey have qualified immunity, perhaps because they
inflate property values all the time andcertainly fudge them. But I don't see
so loans were taken, payments weremade. My understanding of American jurisprudence is
(04:38):
that you need a crime and avictim. Yeah. I don't see a
crime or a victim here. Whatdo you make of it? Does it
have traction? Donald Trump? Imean, that's the victim here, because
you're had a judge that was outto get him. And that's why that
judge assess the value of moral Lagoat eighteen millions. And I know for
(05:01):
fact, there are homes that arenear mar Lago that's nowhere near the size
of mar Lago that have sold forone hundred and fifty two hundred million dollars.
Okay, So I mean you talkabout somebody that's trying to get you,
I mean that judge is doing that. And I thought it was interesting
that Donald Trump, President Trump actuallyshowed up there for the trial today.
(05:27):
I think that means he's pretty surehe's going to win this, which,
you know what, you know, for all, for all the stuff the
Democrats are putting Donald Trump through, and I think we've talked about this,
the worst case scenario for the Democratsis you start having these cases and he
starts getting off on on these chargesand then it really looks like it's a
(05:48):
political vendetta against Donald Well. Yeah, and not to mention the fact that
he did score a victory today, pretty nice one, actually, and the
fact that the judge is basically saying, yeah, yeah, I pretty much
agree with the Federal Pillot Court thatthe statute of limitations is, you know,
(06:12):
anything before to twenty fourteen doesn't count. So that's good. And he
said, he said, that's abouteighty percent of the individual cases of quote
alleged fraud they're trying to throw hisway. But he's still got that other
twenty percent to fight. So atleast there was a it was a positive
step today if anything, But youknow, I don't it really is so
(06:39):
clear what they're doing. I don'tthink they don't. I don't think they
believe he's they're going to get anythingserious enough to stick. But there,
what does he do? He saidtoday, came out and he goes here
I am instead of in Iowa,in New Hampshire or South Carolina. I'm
stuck in this rid courtroom all daylong. This is election at the interference
(07:02):
at the highest level. But Bob, you know what they're doing this time
that they didn't do in twenty sixteen. They're actually just obviously avertly doing it
in front of us and say, nobody's gonna do anything to screw you.
Well, Josh, here, howsuccessful have they been not? He's still
standing yep. And guess what he'sbeaten Biden head to head. Yes,
(07:27):
he is nine. So I mean, like, let's let's look at that.
This is the one thing they didn'tlearn their lesson with impeachment. They
didn't impeach them just once. Theyimpeached them twice and it didn't make a
difference. So they keep thinking, well, once we convict them, that'll
make a difference. No, won't. It's not going to make a difference.
I don't know. I mean,Democrats are stupid, but I didn't
(07:49):
think they were this stupid, butthey are, so, you know,
I mean, it's not you knowwhat, politically, it was better for
him to be in that courtroom thanwas in Iowa today. Trust me,
Politically it was better for him tobe in that courtroom because the more people
see this, the more they seethrough it. And you know, with
(08:11):
everything that's going on with Hunter Bidenor not going on with Hunter Biden.
And by the way, let meask you guys a question, because I
don't know, I have heard nothing. Remember, President Biden is being investigated
because of he having secret documents storedin his garage, stored in an office
(08:31):
in Pennsylvania, you know, liketwo or three different places. What has
ever happened to that? Where isthat? Why has that not been resolved?
It started around the same time thatthey started investigating President Trump on those
charges. And what we've had somethingout of dex Smith two months ago,
(08:54):
and we've heard nothing. Nothing onthe on the president by side of the
classified documents, we've heard nothing. If if you know, in investments they
say past performance is no indication offuture performance. But I'm going to say
that it is here and the federalauthorities had Hunter Biden's situation under investigation for
(09:20):
four years. Oh yeah, andso there is no expediency, there's it
seems to be a shell game.Where can we hide it. I believe
that Americans are forgetful, and Ithink progressives understand that. And so the
idea is how far down the roadcan we kick this? Can't? But
I want to go back to somethingthat you said, and I want I
(09:41):
want to I want to see ifyou have a pulse on this and maybe
what's driving it. So I thinkpeople are understanding that, you know,
there's a whole injustice, a seriesof injustices going on here with Trump.
I believe that, you know, people are starting to understand that Hunter Biden's
situation is serious, that Joe Bidenhas dementia. And the latest poll that
came out has Trump up on Bidenby nine points. Interestingly, when you
(10:05):
dig into the poll results, genZ and millennials have him up twenty Yeah.
Is this Joe Biden is crazy?Donald Trump is being violated or is
this just a matter of My grocerybill is skyrocketing still and it cost me
(10:26):
a one hundred bucks to fill upthe tank in my car. What do
you think is driving those numbers.I think it's it is the ladder of
what you just said. I thinkit's very much people looking back four years
ago in thinking, oh my gosh, things were so much better, and
we didn't have people flooding our border. We didn't have to. You know,
(10:50):
I just saw, I just saw. I just went to grocery store
today. I'm looking at a boxof crackers that I used to get for
five dollars and twenty nine cents.Okay, Now it's eight dollars and twenty
nine cents. Okay. I mean, and that's all happened within the last
year, year and a half.And that's that's just one item. I
mean, that's happening all over andwe have a present that not only our
(11:16):
thing's not better under him, buthe looks so totally out of it.
He looks old, he sounds old, he looks confused. I mean,
I can't tell you how many timesDemocrats tried to pull that on Ronald Reagan.
And Ronald Reagan actually ended up withAlzheimer's, but even when he was
(11:37):
in the final year of his turn, he never was anything like Joe Biden.
Now, okay, And they triedto use that against Robert Dole when
he ran against Clinton in ninety six. They tried to do it again in
two thousand and eight when John McCainran against Barack Obama. I mean,
they do this all the time whenwe have the older candidate, our candidates
(12:00):
old. They did it was GeorgeH. W. Bush running against Clinton
in ninety two. They said hewas old and out of touch, didn't
even know what a scanning machine was, which was not true. But but
but they used it all the timeagainst our guys. Well they actually and
none of those guys were as noneof them were seen now the minute or
(12:20):
anything they have one that it obviouslyis, and they keep trying to protect
them. It's remarkable, it's itis, But it's not because it's I'm
used to it now. I thinkeverything we've seen since i'll say March of
twenty twenty has been surreal and everythingthat. First of all, no one
(12:43):
exploits a crisis better than the left, nobody, nobody, nobody did.
What is it the old saying, don't let a good crisis go to waste?
Yeah, yeah, they're rama Manuel, Yeah, they're they're fabulous at
that. By the way, howhow did he leave Chicago, go after
him. Yeah, I'll tell youthat may be one of those things where
(13:05):
his gears may actually start looking goodcompared to what it is. Yeah right,
but yeah, no, I justthink it's it's remarkable that they're trying.
If they if you just distract Trumpenough, But I agree, this
is not going to work with themevery time you do that. Did you
see the bit. I don't knowif you saw any of the b roll
(13:26):
today because they allow at cameras inthe court since the civil trial. Yeah,
Trump staring at that judge, justscowling at him, and that judge
is all smiling and and what haveyou. When people see that, they're
like, yes, yes, fightthe system, screw them, go go
even harderor don It only motivates him. So I think if they were smart,
(13:52):
you know, Trump's one of thesethings, believe it or not.
If you ignore him, that isis when he gets probably the most angry
is just simply being when he's not. That's you know, when you don't
hear a lot about him, iswhen he kind of, you know,
the support kind of starts flipping alittle because he's not front and center.
(14:15):
When he's front and center, he'sat its peak. I mean, they're
idiots to not have figured that out. They are idiots because when he's the
center of attention, every single cablestation will cover it, every single one.
And they didn't learn their lesson fromtwenty sixteen because it was the media
that made him in twenty sixteen, just they covered him twenty four seven.
(14:39):
So we have a big announcement comingup from Robert F. Kennedy Junior.
And yeah, the rumor is he'sgoing to announce that he's going to run
as an independent, not as aDemocrat. Yeah. I surmise that he
has a lot of support from conservativeswho value or first of all, who
detests Anthony Fauci, who understand howwrong we got the COVID policies. Do
(15:07):
you think an RFK run hurts Trump? Number one? And then number two?
Do you think he's telegraphing it hopingthat the Trump team, By the
way, Clay and Buck talks aboutthis today and I want to get your
take on it. Do you thinkhe's telegraphing expecting Trump to come in and
say, hey, I want youto be my So is it going to
hurt Trump? And do you thinkthat this is negotiable for RFK or do
(15:31):
you think it doesn't matter he's goingto run anyway? I think I don't.
I don't you know what. Iquestion whether he in the end will
run. And I only say thatbecause I always I'm always a pestimist,
testimatest pessimist. When I see thesethings, I want him to run because
I really think, yeah, he'lltake a few votes from Trump, He's
(15:54):
can take a lot more votes awayfrom Biden. And that's only because of
what they're the MCRAT parties trying todo with Biden. I mean, people
are obviously obviously seeing Biden is notup to the job, he cannot do
it, but they still insist onrunning him. And Guys, I'm telling
you this is gonna I think,I really think this is gonna happen.
(16:17):
We're about a month or two awayfrom sheer panic in the Democrat Party because
they're gonna look at the polling,They're gonna look at Robert F. Kennedy
running as an independent. They're gonnasee, oh my god, Biden is
screwed, and they're gonna try toput somebody else in. They don't have
(16:37):
a choice. Bob, of course, they are, and I think everyone
is speculating that it's going to beGavin Newsome. I think so too,
But you know, I would lovea chance to have Trump pick apart Gavin
Newsom's record on taxes, illegal immigration, the fact. If they're smart,
they won't do that. Now,I'm not saying they're smart, but if
(17:00):
they're smart, they won't do that. If they're smart, they're gonna pull
somebody out of nowhere, Barack Obama, Yeah, what's more, out of
Maryland. They're gonna pick somebody outof nowhere that has a little to no
record and run at they're smart, they'll run them and just hope for the
best. With Newsome, they gottoo much baggage. They do if what
(17:22):
you did today? He appoints somewoman, the first African American lesbian woman
so the US Senate. And shedoesn't even live in California, Maryland's a
registered voter in Maryland. Yeah,I mean, come on, I mean,
if you if this isn't uh,she's like the poster child for the
Democrat Party's wokeness, you know,Yeah, I mean, come on,
(17:45):
that's ridiculous. I mean, he'sgot he's got so much baggage That's why
I hope they're stupid enough to puthim in. I'd love it. Well,
yeah, I mean she is themost. You ought to hear her
talk about abortion, you did.It is disgusting how she treats and talks
about children, you know, preciousunborn souls and whatnot. I mean it,
(18:07):
she's got to be the most. She will be the most radical pro
abortion. You know, including threwup into the final trimester of college for
kids. I mean, that's thekind of radical she is. Oh yeah,
and you know what, that's great. Put her out there. I
want her to get just like AOC. I want them to get a lot
(18:29):
of attention. I want them toget a lot of media attention. I
mean, I want people to seewhat the Democrat Party is today. And
let's not forget I mean, ifif they did try to put in Gavin
Newsom, I agree with you, would be a colossal mistake, simply because
if I'm Trump, I'm just rollingfootage of him in that fancy fou fou
French restaurant with his millionaire pals whilewhile everyone else was forced to stay home
(18:56):
and wear a mask. Yeah, that's it. That's the kind of stuff
that pisses people off. It pissedpeople off with Nancy Pelosi got her hair
done because it became like, well, why are they special? Why are
they not subjected to all these damnrestrictions. It would just be a nightmare
for them. I truly believe that. Yeah, I mean it's yeah,
(19:17):
let's let's run them. I'll beas big a supporter to put them on
the ballot everywhere. Okay, yeah, I'm poor Gavin Newsom, Well,
hey, let me let me goto some Buckeye state news and information.
Uh so we'll pivot here. Ion my show earlier tonight, I talked
(19:37):
with the doctor and O B.G. I n who has decided to
stand up against the scumbags. Imean, these people are already low because
they're lying about what I'm talking about. Ohio Issue one, which make no
bones about it. It will allowabortion on demand until birth for matters of
convenience. Yeah, it will allowwhat I get these arguments all the time,
(20:00):
Well, we don't have that. We've we've had very few cases of
that happening. Well, you knowwhy, because even under Roe v.
Wade, you couldn't have an abortionafter viability. That's right. We don't
really know how many abortions there's goingto be once you know, there's totally
no restrictions whatsoever, and you cando it up till the moment of birth.
(20:21):
We have no clue. Let's let'slet's also not forget it's going to
open up the tranny door for ouryouth who are being completely brainwashed, propagated
and and lied to, told tonot trust their family, don't tell anybody.
Uh, it's it's sick man.And you know what, those those
teenagers will also be getting abortions withouttheir parents finding out. That's right,
(20:44):
that's true, without any of theirparents consent. And I mean, this
is just a I mean, andthey're not they're not hiding it. The
ACLU planned parenthood, is it sergeor urge all these places. Well,
but they don't talk about they don'ttalk about get letting you know, minors
(21:04):
choose their you know, sex ortwos to have an abort They don't talk
about They don't talk about having abortionsat thirty weeks or thirty five weeks.
They don't talk about that. Well, they talk about how it's so restrictive
in Ohio that even if you miscarry, you can't get medical care. Both.
That's not through. So two thingsthere. One, I agree with
(21:26):
you. If you go back farenough on their social media timelines, you'll
see that all of them talk abouthow restrictive parental rights are and how they
thwart healthcare and gender affirming care. And so these groups are the toothpaste is
already out of the tube with them. They have made it very clear that
(21:48):
they believe parents are the bullies andthat they're the good guys. But I
digress. So that's what I wasgoing to talk about next, is this
whole issue of I mean, thesescumbags are running commercials saying that ectopic pregnancies
and miscarriages won't be allowed if issuewants. I talked to a doctor who
said, look, I'm standing upbecause this is it's disgusting. First of
all, as it stands now,you can get the care and ectopic pregnancy
(22:14):
is not considered an abortion because thefetus is not viable, it's not going
to survive. And a miscarriage thefetus is already dead mother, that's right,
and it's like threatening for the mother. So yeah, I mean,
they lie, They lie so thatthey can get what they want. They
know like every single liberal Democrat inthis country. They know if they tell
the truth they will lose. Theywill know seventy three percent seventy eight percent
(22:41):
of Americans want restrictions, So fifteenweeks are below. Of course, if
they come out and say on demand, it's not going to pass. But
here's the question. Is there apath forward? I heard some internal polling
numbers a couple of weeks ago,and it sounded like there was a path
forward to defeat this. I'm justconcerned that means stream in corporate media outlets
are going to just bend over backwardsto trumpet the lies. Yeah, do
(23:04):
you think this has a chance ofnot passing? I think it's gonna be
tough. I think I thought Augustwas going to be tough. I don't
see our side engaging in the battle. I don't see our side raising the
kind of money they need to raiseto battle this, I think, and
I think we've talked about this before. My I think they they've approached this
(23:30):
battle completely wrong. I think theonly way to stop what could be happening
here in Ohio was we needed toput forth an opposing amendment that would have
allowed parental notification and consent would havehad a fifteen week ban, and I
know a lot of people say,oh, that's too late. You know,
(23:52):
hey, guys, do you wantfifteen weeks or do you want thirty
eight weeks or whatever? Bird? You know, And that's what we're facing.
I don't think we fought this theright way, and I think we're
gonna pay a price because of it. Yeah, I do too, And
it worries me about what we're goingto have to I don't know how you
(24:15):
fight it. I don't know howyou combat it. Well, you fight
it by giving a reasonable alternative. That's how you fight it. And we
didn't do that. Our side didn'tdo that. And I get that.
You know a lot of pro lifepeople I don't like to have those kinds
of restrictions of any kind. Iget that, But like I said,
(24:37):
I don't want to have complete abortionsup till birth, which is what I'm
looking at here in Ohio. See, all these years I fought against Rob
Wade, I always always always madethe argument, let the states decide.
Okay, that's what it's about.Let the states decide. Well, guess
what Ohio is going to decide thisNovember. Yeah, we are, and
(25:00):
it's just you're gonna have to,like you said, it's just if this
passes, it come out with anamendment in March. Yeah, I mean,
if we're if we're quick enough andthinking through this enough now not after
the election, but now we can, we can put an amendment on the
ballot that would put in a fifteenweek limit with parental notification and consent.
(25:25):
And I think that might have ashot. I mean, I think that
might have a shot of doing awaywith what they're going to do in November.
But you know, we got tobe ready to do it. Oh
yeah, there's no there's no comingback from I mean, you gotta go
now, or go hard or gohome, I guess, is the way
I would say. And we gotto have the money to get our message
(25:45):
across. You know, it happenedin August, it's happening now. We
aren't. We're you know, we'regiving them the air waves free. They
have total domination of TV total becausewe're not doing anything. Yeah. Yeah,
that dude, that's that's so true. I mean, how do you
win? How do you win whenyou don't advertise? I mean, it's
(26:06):
great if they come in next weekor the week after. But it's so
late. How many weeks have theybeen up, you know, totally on
their own with nobody else giving anyopposing information to people. Yeah, that's
that's well said. Hey, let'sget out. Well, we'll wrap up
things for tonight with this. Bob, your your thoughts on this. This
(26:27):
is breaking within the last fifteen minutesthat, as expected, Representative Matt gets
has introduced a motion to vacate KevinMcCarthy is how speaker, your thoughts,
your observation from thirty thousand feet andthis is I feel like this isn't something
I'm I'm really excited about. Idon't. It's a distraction to me and
(26:53):
the in fighting. You know whyyou feel that way because you know,
yeah, I mean, you followthis stuff. You know that Matt's not
doing this because of some great principle. He's doing this because he's mad that
McCarthy is allowing an ethics committee toinvestigate Matt and all of his shady dealings
(27:15):
in the past. That's what allof this is about. Has not he
tries to portray it as you know, some great principal thing, but you
know what, he and his buddiesvoters against a continuing resolution that actually would
have cut spending because they didn't wantKevin McCarthy to get a win. So
what was about the principle? Theyjust blew that up. It has nothing
(27:37):
to do with principles or beliefs oranything. It's it's all personal. It's
retribution. And I think in theend he's not going to be successful.
And then I don't know what Imean. They're talked now that they're going
to try to get a resolution outthere to expel them. And I'll tell
you what. He's gonna have tohave the dobe. He talks about McCarthy
trying to save his but you know, or the Democrats gonna save McCarthy's.
(28:02):
But well, guess what, he'sgonna need the Democrats to save his if
that expulsion goes to the floor. And I guarantee you Matt gets isn't getting
any Democratic support none. Well, they like, no, they like they
like him because he's always going afterMcCarthy. They like, don't AOC is
going to vote to vacate the chairor the speaker. She's gonna vote with
(28:27):
him on that. Now. Sheis one of the few Democrats who have
said that. I think most willnot because they know that, you know,
it would only get worse under somebodyother than McCarthy. But yeah,
that the radical left, they're allfor him. They're all for Matt because
because he stirs things up and heand he you know, tries to break
(28:48):
the Republicans from within. You loveit. You got that right, Bob
Clegg. Thank you so much, brother. We appreciate you. Always great
talking with you, and thanks forfiguring out all the world's problems with us
tonight. Thanks. I hope Ididn't repeat myself. You're right, no,
you know you were awesome. Takecare, Bob. Alrighty so By
