It's time for non headline news withScotty and Hannah on the New Mix ninety
nine point five. Yeah, wego behind the headlines and find the stories
that maybe aren't out there and shouldbe. For example, this Trader Joe's
seasoning thing. Okay, what ohis this with the everything but the bagel
says? Okaygs, I love.I wanted to talk about it just so
you could say, baggel, thankyou're a Minnesota accent. But uh,

(00:24):
bagel seasoning apparently is showing up onsigns at airports in South Korea because it's
causing people, they say, tofail drug tests. I find this hard
to believe. Do you know howmany poppy seeds you would have to consume
to fail a drug test? Well, apparently not a lot to fail one.
I know my wife was former militaryand she wasn't allowed to eat the

(00:47):
poppy seeds. Okay, but likewhen and I get like, you know,
like, here's a poppy seed Danish, But by the time you add
everything else in with that, Ifeel like the amount of poppy seeds you
actually get in the seasoning is veryYour point is true in that it's not
really affecting you. It's not enoughto really do anything, but it's enough
to pop on the test. Andthat's the problem. I just find this

(01:10):
ridiculous, and I think, outof all the things the country of South
Korea could be worried about, it'severything but the bagel seasoning. Yes,
like I just bagel anyway. ATand T. Okay, they got hacked.
This is not news when a bigcompany gets hacked. However, what
I'm learning about the details on thisis really surprising to me. Apparently the

(01:32):
data was stolen all kinds of valuableinformation to would be thieves, and they
held the stuff for ransom and gotthree hundred and seventy thousand dollars from AT
and T to give it back.Who paid for that, well, probably
customers ultimately, but they had initiallywanted this is called the They're called the

(01:55):
Shiny Hunter's hacking group. Okay, they wanted a million dollars and they got
talked down to three seventy one horriblenegotiation on the hackers and two here,
what should we name our hacking organizationthe shiny Okay, Shiny Hunters. You
know. The thing though, iswhat is this teaching kids? Crime doesn't

(02:15):
pay unless it's cybercrist Yes it does. Side note, didn't you just do
something with your phone and your bill'smore expensive? Was that? At and
T We shall not chat? Okay, I'm just saying, maybe that's where
the money's going. That's a goodpoint. Yes, maybe that's those extra
fees THO figuring out. Okay,if you want to prepare for when the
zombies take over, the folks overat Costco have you covered? They have

(02:38):
something. It's one hundred and thirtytwo serving emergency food bucket and it's supposed
to last twenty five years on theshelf. And then when you need it,
you bust the thing out and there'sfood and drinks inside. You got
teriaki, rice, cheesy macaroni, other pasta, apple, cinnamon cereal,
some soup, some orange drink mix, a way milk alternative. I know

(03:01):
what you're thinking. No way,eh, but yes, and it's only
like eighty bucks. You can getit cheaper than that, depending on how
you buy it. Does it sayhow much food you get? Like,
how long is that supposed to lastyou? It says one hundred and thirty
two servings. That's all. Itreally gives us a clue, so you
can figure that out based on yourfamily size. Okay, interesting. First

(03:22):
of all, promise me this, and this is gonna sound a bit morbid
if the zombie apocalypse ever happens.Yes, put me out of my business
right in a skull like walking dead. Yep, just get it done with.
I will be a basket case. You will not want me around.
I lock me in a room.I don't know. You're saying you're no
good to anyone. You have noskills that could help us survive. I

(03:45):
can cook, I can entertain,and that's a and I can annoy.
That's really about it. Here's whatI'm thinking too. Samples are very important
as part of the model for Costco. Of all things that you need to
sample, it's this because what ifthey finally m'm for the apocalypse and it's
horrible and you can't eat the stuffwithout gagging. You know, they have
a great return policy at Costco.I don't know after an apocalypse if it's

(04:09):
still gonna work. But can youimagine, Okay, zombie apocalypse, where
are you gonna be locked in?A Costco would be a beautiful place.
You're not wrong about that. Ihave often, maybe too much, I've
thought about where I would go amall. Okay, is this a dude
thing. Let's rewind years ago.I'm working at cash wise Morehead and Moorhead,

(04:31):
Minnesota. We're standing around the servicecorner. It's me, Dalton and
Mac. I have vivid memories ofthis event. Shout out to Dalton and
Mac. Well, anyways, storiesand they're talking about where they would go
and their techniques for a zombie apocalypse, and apparently like this is a thought
that crosses men's mind. I guessI just thought we were like teenagers,

(04:54):
college kids, so it was morelike a younger folks game. Not that
I'm calling you old, but youare no longer in your teens, in
your twenties and you still think aboutthis. Well, there's whole shows about
people preparing for the apocalypse. Sono, I don't think I'm alone,
but absolutely I think about it.To call me, I don't know,
a woman, call me ignorant fornot thinking more about the zombie apocalypse.

(05:15):
Is it just something that doesn't processthrough like the female brain. I don't
know the reason. I think thisis supposed to be an insult, but
I'm I'm finding it a compliment thatI'm preparing myself and my family ahead of
time. If someone who bear likeI go to the grocery store when I
need to, like, if theapocalypse comes, yeah, I'm like,
well, you're right, I havethree days tops for you. Yep,
exactly, just yep. All right, there you go on that happy note,

(05:40):
we'll call it a day. Thanksfor joining us on this edition of
