Kraken made some mistakes. I thought they rebounded well from
those mistakes, but again another late regulation, late third period,
game tying goal against, ultimately leading to the shootout loss.

Here for Seattle, well, I think you and have talked
about it a lot, and I think we have a
sample size big enough now from preseason to regular season
where we know these games are gonna be greasy, they're
gonna be tight, they're gonna be defensive, and unfortunately sometimes
you follow on the wrong side of a defensive, low
scoring event. And that's the case tonight, it was a
case in Montreal. You do get points out of both
of those games, and that's gonna help in the long run.

But unfortunately you're not.

You didn't take advantage of a team that was playing
their second in a back to back, and.

Listen if you're Seattle. I mean a lots of build
off in this game. I thought the physicality was still there.
You out hit Ottawa by a twenty seven to nineteen margin.
Your face offs got better as the game went on.
At one point Seattle was in the twenties percentage wise
in the faceoff dot they ended up finishing with forty

six percent. You had seven takeaways to Ottawa's four takeaways,
so there are some positives to build off of. I
thought Grubauer would love to have a couple of the
goals back. He made some big saves when he needed.
The power play was one for three to night Chandler
Stevenson with two goals. So still a lot to be
proud of in this one the night for Seattle.

Yeah, I think so.

And there's definitely some things to clean up that coaching
staffell lo at with film and talk to players about.

But I think that they can they can.

Respect and appreciate the battle of the team put in
the clean up of that first period into the second
and third, and that that no quit now they again,
they got all the way through to taking the lead
there in the third period, unfortunately giving up that goal late.
It's just a gut rencher.

Two games through this six game road trip, identical results
for the most part, extra hockey losses.

But what have you made about Seattle through now?

You know, three periods plus two over times plus a shootout.

Yeah, I mean what I've made is that these are
the kind of hockey games we're probably gonna see a
lot of this year. Four to three is a high
scoring game, even in a in a shootout game for
this club. I would say you're gonna see a lot
more three to two games, three one games throughout the year.
But tonight we saw Philip Grubauer for the first time
in regulation. I think there are a couple saves he

could have made. I think he came up with a
couple of big saves as well that could have changed
the outcome of the game. But I have to say
Linis Almark was the better goaltender in the third period.
He had a lot more highlight reel saves. All right.

Ow outside of that, anymore final thoughts before we get
out of here.

Yeah, listen, power play was one for two, so fifty
percent of the night. You can't worry about that. Limiting
shots in the second goal in the second period was
really good for Seattle. I thought there were too many
giveaways seventeen on the night. Again, that's part of that
cleaning up the play a little bit. Seattle continues to
be gritty. Twenty seven hits, twenty block shots. Didn't get

to that fifty mark that we talked about, but very
close to it. So that continues and that's a good sign.

breakdown late of some sort is a root cause. Here
for a comeback on the home side and the crack
and have to settle once again for a point getting
this one into overtime, forced to play extra hockey and
Ottawa emerging via the shootout four to three the final

over the Kraken and despite that, the Cracking remaining unbeaten
in regulation. They are now two to zero and two.
But given the facts of what happened here for the
second and third period, it stings a bit, but yet
a chance here to make up ground once again in
a very volatile atmosphere coming up two nights from now
on Hockey Night in Canada in Toronto, Ottawa with the
comeback win ends their back to back situation, improving to

two and three. One more matchup here for these two
teams to go for the regular season. Time now for

first goal of the season cleaning up a Louis puck
at the front of the net. Brandon Montour Mason Marchman
had the assist to give the Kraken a one to
nothing advantage, but penalty issues came to men. For period one.

but then Ryan Winterton offered, tripping Ottawa, then getting to

make things right back up with Chandler Stephenson, the veteran,

In period two, Jaden Schwartz have the only helper and

in a two to two tie with Ottawa at the
end of two periods of play. In two period three,
the Kraken going right to the man advantage and who

down to the final minutes and seemingly well in command
but giving credit where credit is due lead us Olmark
turning away several stops with the crack and trying to
put the game away and the leads still at one,
with Ottawa coming right back with less than two minutes left.

And there it goes Olmark off to the bench, extra
attacker on here for Ottawa. Here side Cousins scores. Dylan
Cousins whips a shot from the right side just inside

That was a tough one to recover from and get
right back up for the next shift. There as Dylan
Cousins launching a fifty footer from the right wing from
the outside as well. It be Philip Grubauer clean glove
side and Ottawa getting their building energized once again on
that game tying goal with eighteen fourteen gone by in
period three, so again the krack and having to fend

off a late game tying goal, just like in Montreal,
now in Ottawa with a game ti to three, cousins
from Drake Bathson and Jordan Spence. Officially that was a
play that went down on the score sheet and overtime
the Craken had two great looks Mattie Ben and Chandler
Stevenson come to mind trying to put it away. That
Lena Soulmark, who was a big part of this Ottawa

comeback keeping them in the game and it would require
a shootout as well. In round one, Drake Bathurston and
Jordan Everley turned away. In round two, Tim Stutzla scored
a goal, Jeed McCann turned away by Olmark. And then
to round three with Shane Pinto having the game on
his stick.

Right here, Shane Pinto can put it away for the
whole team right handed shot. Shane Pinto from the red line,
carries it over left side of the circle, now cuts

A heartbreaking way to go out here in this one,
the Kracking owning a pretty big advantage in shots. They
cleaned up the penalty game as well after period one,
but the game tying goal really turned matters around. And
of the shootout where it's a fifty to fifty game,
so to speak, as they say in this business, and
Shane Pinto had the last say in that the goal
to put it away right past Screwbauer and the Crack

and again having to settle for a shootout point tonight
as Ottawa takes at four to three. The final score
at Canadian Entire Center, your final shots on net in
favor of the Kraken thirty four to twenty three, and
to cat matters off as far as how well they
played in overtime trying to fight out the game tying goal.

power plays wise, Kracking goal won for three. Outawa goes
one to two in the main advantage and the win

was sharp down the stretch and he picks up the

the Cracking out to a one to nothing lead and
that ended a string of no goals in Ottawa's buildings
since the twenty twenty two and twenty three seasons, so
that question certainly answered. The Kracking ought to a good
start and Shane Wright getting his first goal of the
season of big moment at that part to period three.

He uh gets a lot of pucks and I mean
that was all him on that goal. I said to

is another chance makes a great say, but great play

both units are looking really good, so getting a lot

but all in all, yeah, you know, we're uh fairly
happy with uh.

goes on, the more comfortable guys will get in those situations.
And obviously losing pretty you know, really good base off
and he's own guy for us that you know would

have been nice to have out there. But yeah, I
think all in all, I mean, if you want to
win every game, I know it's not realistic, but you know,
especially when you're in the leader, you want to have
two points. But you know, we're I don't want to
say I said, we're happy with one, but obviously two
would have been nice. But we're happy with the effort.

Kraken made some mistakes. I thought they rebounded well from
those mistakes, but again another late regulation, late third period,
game tying goal against, ultimately leading to the shootout loss.

Here for Seattle, well, I think you and have talked
about it a lot, and I think we have a
sample size big enough now from preseason to regular season
where we know these games are gonna be greasy, they're
gonna be tight, they're gonna be defensive, and unfortunately sometimes
you follow on the wrong side of a defensive, low
scoring event. And that's the case tonight, it was a
case in Montreal. You do get points out of both
of those games, and that's gonna help in the long run.

But unfortunately you're not.

You didn't take advantage of a team that was playing
their second in a back to back, and.

Listen if you're Seattle. I mean a lots of build
off in this game. I thought the physicality was still there.
You out hit Ottawa by a twenty seven to nineteen margin.
Your face offs got better as the game went on.
At one point Seattle was in the twenties percentage wise
in the faceoff dot they ended up finishing with forty

six percent. You had seven takeaways to Ottawa's four takeaways,
so there are some positives to build off of. I
thought Grubauer would love to have a couple of the
goals back. He made some big saves when he needed.
The power play was one for three to night Chandler
Stevenson with two goals. So still a lot to be
proud of in this one the night for Seattle.

Yeah, I think so.

And there's definitely some things to clean up that coaching
staffell lo at with film and talk to players about.

But I think that they can they can.

they got all the way through to taking the lead
there in the third period, unfortunately giving up that goal late.

for the most part, extra hockey losses.

But what have you made about Seattle through now?

You know, three periods plus two over times plus a shootout.

Yeah, I mean what I've made is that these are
the kind of hockey games we're probably gonna see a
lot of this year. Four to three is a high
scoring game, even in a in a shootout game for
this club. I would say you're gonna see a lot
more three to two games, three one games throughout the year.
But tonight we saw Philip Grubauer for the first time
in regulation. I think there are a couple saves he

could have made. I think he came up with a
couple of big saves as well that could have changed
the outcome of the game. But I have to say
Linis Almark was the better goaltender in the third period.
He had a lot more highlight reel saves. All right.

Ow outside of that, anymore final thoughts before we get
out of here.

Yeah, listen, power play was one for two, so fifty
percent of the night. You can't worry about that. Limiting
shots in the second goal in the second period was
really good for Seattle. I thought there were too many
giveaways seventeen on the night. Again, that's part of that
cleaning up the play a little bit. Seattle continues to
be gritty. Twenty seven hits, twenty block shots. Didn't get

to that fifty mark that we talked about, but very
close to it. So that continues and that's a good sign.

But given the facts of what happened here for the
second and third period, it stings a bit, but yet
a chance here to make up ground once again in
a very volatile atmosphere coming up two nights from now
on Hockey Night in Canada in Toronto, Ottawa with the
comeback win ends their back to back situation, improving to

two and three. One more matchup here for these two
teams to go for the regular season. Time now for

attacker on here for Ottawa. Here side Cousins scores. Dylan

That was a tough one to recover from and get
right back up for the next shift. There as Dylan
Cousins launching a fifty footer from the right wing from
the outside as well. It be Philip Grubauer clean glove
side and Ottawa getting their building energized once again on
that game tying goal with eighteen fourteen gone by in
period three, so again the krack and having to fend
(12:44):
off a late game tying goal, just like in Montreal,
now in Ottawa with a game ti to three, cousins
from Drake Bathson and Jordan Spence. Officially that was a
play that went down on the score sheet and overtime
the Craken had two great looks Mattie Ben and Chandler
Stevenson come to mind trying to put it away. That
Lena Soulmark, who was a big part of this Ottawa

comeback keeping them in the game and it would require
a shootout as well. In round one, Drake Bathurston and
Jordan Everley turned away. In round two, Tim Stutzla scored
a goal, Jeed McCann turned away by Olmark. And then
to round three with Shane Pinto having the game on
his stick.

Right here, Shane Pinto can put it away for the
whole team right handed shot. Shane Pinto from the red line,
carries it over left side of the circle, now cuts

the Kracking owning a pretty big advantage in shots. They
cleaned up the penalty game as well after period one,
but the game tying goal really turned matters around. And
of the shootout where it's a fifty to fifty game,
so to speak, as they say in this business, and
Shane Pinto had the last say in that the goal
to put it away right past Screwbauer and the Crack

and again having to settle for a shootout point tonight
as Ottawa takes at four to three. The final score
at Canadian Entire Center, your final shots on net in
favor of the Kraken thirty four to twenty three, and
to cat matters off as far as how well they
played in overtime trying to fight out the game tying goal.

power plays wise, Kracking goal won for three. Outawa goes
one to two in the main advantage and the win

was sharp down the stretch and he picks up the
