Speaker 1 (00:00):
And the Cracking Power PLAYLSD.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
This is Thekraking Postgame Show, brought to you by Toyota
of Olympia. Now for an in depth look at your
Krakeing hockey, It's the post game on the Global Credit
Union Kraken Audio Network.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
Well, you can't start a winning streak until you win
the first one. Cracking snap a four game slide with
a four to two win here in San Jose alongside
Al Koniski ever fits you back with you. Big nights
for Channler Stevenson, a goal and an assist for him,
a career best four game goal and nine game point
(00:37):
streak for him right now.
Speaker 4 (00:40):
And the krack and firing at all Southerners. Yeah, they
absolutely were a big game. Probably told them tonight as well,
getting that first goal on the board back in the
second period, getting grabbing some momentum for his team. He
had a physical night as well. You'd like to see
those leaders lead tonight and they absolutely did.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
Say it's an eight game point streak for Channer Stevens
and still a career best for him tonight. In this one,
the Kraken all night really had to deal with a
lot of wave offense from San Jose. It seemed like
there was a good three or four minutes in each
period where the Sharks just kept coming and coming, and
(01:15):
especially in that second period, it was bookended by two
strong instances of pressure from San Jose.
Speaker 4 (01:22):
Well, that's just the way the NHL is is. You've
got to be able to deal with some pushes from
other teams. Yeah, crack and showing resilience there at those times,
especially in that second period when they did have them
bottled up in their own end for a few shifts
in a row. And it was early in that second
period where that happened and it was told them that
finally got them, you know, off those shifts by.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
Screwing the goal cracking three for four tonight on the
penalty kill oh for their only one on the power play.
We talked about how Seattle had to stay out of
the box. They did give up the one power play
goal in the second but the kracking in this one,
like we unlike we thought special teams didn't really play
a huge.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
Part in this one. No, they did, and getting one
power play goal, we were concerned about that. With the
third power play that they were given in the second period,
they capitalized on that when they got been late in
the game probably didn't matter too much because there was
only fourteen point two seconds left and the crack And
were up by two goals at that point. But they
managed to solve that in the third period, not giving
(02:19):
the Santose Sharks any full power play opportunities.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
We're gonna hear from the captain Jordan Eberley coming up
in a matter of moments, but he, along with Lane Lambert,
number of players almost roster saying that the way to
get out of this streak is just to dig in,
and the Kraken tonight they really dug in. Did you notice,
from your perspective, al them doing anything different from what
we've seen the last few games or was this just
(02:44):
the damn finally breaking for Seattle?
Speaker 4 (02:46):
Well? Three things. One is I think their defensive structure
looked really good today. That's kind of the DNA of
this team. When they play it well, it's hard for
other teams to get to the front of net, to
get pucks to the front of the net. Secondly, I
think they simplified the game a little bit tonight. They
weren't trying to overplay any situation. You look at the
the Riker Evans goal, the Ryan Lingren goal, just putting
pucks on net that resulted in goals. Very simple hockey
(03:07):
for them tonight. Stay out of the box in the
third period was huge as well. So some some discipline,
some simplicity and sticking to their game.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
Four to two.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
Crack in Wayne, as we're gonna head down to the
locker room right now, cracking Captain Jordan every joining us. Uh, Jordan,
First of all, big win tonight, two points against the
team above you in the standings that you had to have.
Just take us through this big win tonight, snapping the
four game slide Seattle was on.
Speaker 5 (03:33):
Yeah, just uh, you know, a lot of contribution up
and down. Joey obviously played great. You know, I think
a little shaking there in the second and but we
stood strong and you know, a couple of big goals
of the back end there, so you know, just need
to continue.
Speaker 4 (03:47):
Yeah, Jordan, you showed a lot of resilience there in
the second period and you entered that third period once
again in a very tight game. What was said in
the locker room between the second and third to close
this one out and win it.
Speaker 5 (03:57):
I mean, we've been in this situation. Yeah, I don't
know how I'm six the last ten we've had leads
or been tied going in the thirds. We're no stranger
to it.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
You know.
Speaker 5 (04:06):
Obviously they get one there at the start, kind of
just off a guy and then you know, it seemed
to be the way, but I like to Obviously we
bounce back, so that's that's resiliency. But you gotta you
gotta do that at night in I.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
What does what does this win mean for you guys
in the locker room? Obviously you know every win is huge,
but based on where things were at coming into the
game tonight, you know, what does it mean to you guys?
Speaker 5 (04:27):
Yeah, I mean it's hard. We're pushing, you know. I
see we got guys hurt. You know where we've had uh,
you know, it's not even so much the losses the
fash fashion of the losses. I mean losing late or
blowing leads, you know, but you know, good teams you
find a way to overcome adversity. Every team goes through adversity.
This one's been, you know, one of the harder ones
I've been through. But we gotta we gotta keep pushing,
(04:48):
you know, in this in.
Speaker 3 (04:49):
These situations, it's human nature for that frustration to creep in.
As a captain, as a leader on this team, what's
your role in keeping the spirits high, not letting those
those in intrusive thoughts if you will sneak into the
back of folks mindes.
Speaker 5 (05:03):
I you know, just trying to keep with it. I
know I've mentioned many times teams to go through adversity.
This one's maybe a little bit steeper hill than we've
been at. But you know, when you come on the
other side of it, it feels that much better, You
grow that much more as a group. You know. I
think we've always been a team that's needed everybody, and
you know we had it tonight.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
Well, Abs, congrats a big win, Cracking moving up in
the standings as well.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
Thanks for your time.
Speaker 3 (05:26):
We'll talk to you down the road. Thanks all right,
Cracking and Captain Jordan every Following tonight's four to two
win over the San Jose Sharks, we had you a time.
I'll come back and wrap up from San Jose after
this on the Global Credit Union and crack An Audio Network.

For the final time tonight and welcome back inside of
SAP Center at San Jose alongside alchemiesca Ever Fits You
Back with You Way four two win for the Seattle,
crack In over the San Jose Sharks. Ow your key takeaways, Yeah, mamacay.
Speaker 4 (08:06):
Three key takeaways today for me where Ellie Tovin in
big game for him. He had the goal there in
the second period, three hits in the game, playing very physical.
I love seeing that part that style of his game.
Crack and d Man tonight, a couple of big goals
from Evans and Langre, and I love seeing the de
men contribute offensively as well. Joey Decourd. He made some
big saves in that second period, big saves at you know,
(08:27):
key saves at key times, big part of the win tonight.
I want to give some love to ty Carchis. Ty
Cartier had four hits tonight. I think ty Cartier is
starting to settle in this into this role on the
fourth line. He's understanding how he needs to play. I
think having you know, Ben Myers out there, Jacob Malonson
and playing that same sort of way, he's embracing that.
And I love the way he played tonight. And then
(08:48):
my last takeaway was on Chandler Stevenson extending that point
streak to eight games. Big goal. He's got goals now
in four straight games. And you know when you've got
these leaders out of the lineup tonight, you know, with
with McCann and and Schwartz, you lean on guys like
Stevenson to lead the way, and he's been doing that
over those those eight games. Three stars brought to you
by Mama Kay. Third start tonight goes to see above
(09:10):
Channer Stevenson one goal plus three on the night. Second
star went to San Jose's calling Graft. He had a goal,
three shots on goal as well. And then the first
star goes to the netminder Joey Decord, stopping thirty five
of thirty seven, a nine to four to six save
percentage and one assist.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
They added an assists on the Stevenson goal, the empty
netter his ninth of the year. That'll do it here
for us from San Jose. That's my last game before
the holiday break. By yes to going over on the
TV side Monday and Tuesday down in Anaheim. So for myself,
I want to wish all of our listeners out there
a very happy holiday season. Merry Christmas, happy Honika, joyous Kwanza,

whatever you celebrate. Festivus, go complain and have your bouts.

Cracking four two over the San Jose Sharks. Mighty be

Speaker 10 (10:16):
What a way to wrap this one up here. Certainly,
goaltending gets it done, grit gets it done. Sacrifice also
gets it done. With a crack and by the way,
laying the body down for twenty three blocks shots this evening,
of course show you to the court phenomenal. But the
third period the big difference here. With some pushback and
you take away Jordan Eberly's late penalty, the Crack and
play in a clean third period with the penalty box
(10:39):
and that sets them up here for a four to
two victory over the San Jose Sharks. The four game
skid is now in the past. The Crack and get
their first win in regulation since November twentieth, that's Chicago,

the head to head series, the Kraken keeping pace and
a crowded Western Conference, they improved a thirteen fourteen and

the Kraken improving to eleven and seven all time in

no score at the end of one period of play.
The Kraken don't mind it that way trying to keep
the building, which can get lead in San Jose pretty
quiet as they outshot the Sharks seventeen to twelve in
the opening frame. Second period, over six minutes in what
(16:01):
can Ellie Tulvenan do to spur on the offensive matters.
Speaker 3 (16:05):
Seattle off a change, here's tolven It shoots, scores. Ellie
tolman Ain off the bench, stumbles his way to the
right circle and.
Speaker 1 (16:16):
Our wrister in past Askarov.
Speaker 3 (16:19):
It's a one nothing Seattle cracking lead.
Speaker 4 (16:22):
Thirteen oh eight to play in the second go at
the puck battle right in front of the Kracking bench.
I believe it was Stevenson that got that puck free
free freing it up for Tolvenen over on the far side.
Tolben It gets a step and these are leeftenant shots.
We get to the inside and a quick wrist shot
beating Askarov won nothing.
Speaker 10 (16:39):
Kracking eighteen times, the Krakens scoring the first goal of
the game this season, eventually improving to ten, to five
and three by the end of the night. In that situation,
it's Elle Tolvenan getting out of a seven game goal
scoring draft. The quick strikeout, the takeaway and converts off
a snap shot blocker side of Yaroslav Askarov, fifth goal
of the season, coming on a six at six fifty two.
(17:02):
The Sharks, though, finding a way to tie things up
on their third power play of the night, Adam Goddebt
converting off of Chaos at the front of the cage
and he gets his eighth goal of the season. Churner
shove and Celebrini with the assist on the play to
tie it up at one at eleven twenty two, and
by the way off that play, maclan Celebrini, extending his
(17:23):
scoring streak with points to five consecutive games. The one
to one tie carried over into period three with San
Jose looking to make the next move and and get
again quick strike fashion.
Speaker 3 (17:36):
Vince done off the ndboard, centric passing front draft so
off the post, but it goes in. Oh my goodness,
look cracking. Tried to clear and hit a funny stancheon off.
Speaker 4 (17:52):
The end boards, came in front.
Speaker 3 (17:54):
Colic Graft shot it off the post to coordinate the same,
but it's.
Speaker 10 (17:59):
Still well chaos and also bounces. That's how San Jose
found their offense here for the night. So if you're
finding a way to keep players like Mapman, Celebrini Tyler
to fully and Crewe at Bay from clean looks. You're
doing a great job defensively, but yet calling Graft scoring
just thirty six seconds into period three off a freak
(18:19):
bounce and then Adam Larson losing the puck off of
Joey to Cord it rolled into an open net. The
puck did for Grafts ninth goal of the season, just
thirty six seconds in Graft on a four game points
scoring streak, the Sharks of their first lead of the night,
and the Kraken forced to respond. It didn't take long
for it to happen. Ryker Evans scoring at one fifty
five a period three on a seeing ice shot through
(18:42):
traffic from the left side of the blue line, got
his third goal of the season, coming unassisted, and the Kraken,
just like that, off a two combined goals in the
span of one to nineteen, found a way to tie
it up. Yet with a two to two tie in hand,
they weren't stopping there.
Speaker 3 (18:57):
Linger it left circle. This this shuts Ryan Lindrid from
the left circle may have deflect it in, but the
Seattle cracking back on top.
Speaker 4 (19:09):
It's a three to two, cracking lead. Well, if this
goes down as Lingern's goal, if he his first of
the season. It was a great shot by him as
he waited for the screen going to the front of
the net. I believe it was Tolvenin heading towards the front.
It may have gone off of him. We're having to
look here. It didn't redirect, but it could have gone
off of a Shark player as well.
Speaker 10 (19:29):
Moving screens get it done. Indeed, number one for Ryan Lindgren,
his first goal in a crack in Jersey. Chandler Stevenson
with the assist on the play, pushing his point straight
to a career best eight consecutive games. Freddie Gidrou also
with the assist, coming at four twenty seven, and Ryan
Lindgren the Ruggets stay at home defenseman. If you can
get a goal from players like that, it's a big
(19:51):
help in a bonus and they get just that for
a three to two advantage, trying to hold firm and
eventually Chandler Stevenson wraps up on the empty He had
goal at eighteen thirty six, his ninth on the season,
with a four game goal scoring streak in hand that
matching a career high setback in twenty twenty one twenty two,
Ellie Toulvenen and the goaltender Joey to Cord pick up

the assist on the play four to two Kraken. They
wrap it up there as a final score your shots
on net in favor of San Jose at thirty six
thirty two power plays. Wise, the Sharks go one to four,
the Kraken just one chance. They come up empty on
that and the Kraken getting Joey to Core to win
a net and he was simply sensational thirty four saves

nine and four on the campaign, the last of them
to Guero slab Ascarob by far, his busiest frame coming
in period one, turning in seventeen saves on seventeen shots,
and he turns in a twenty eight save effort, moving
his record now to twelve nine and one on the campaign.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
There's gonna be a cracking penalty.
Speaker 10 (21:41):
But my goodness, you had to figure at some point
San Jose was going to turn up the heat, and
they did just that twenty five to eight, and shot
attempts at five on five. That was their favor with
the numbers back in period two and Acord by far
his best save of the second period, turning into eleven
saves in that frame again one example. Pal goldtending this
evening made a big difference and the crack and then

and who could deliver the pivot in this game?
Speaker 3 (22:11):

To go on the third well, Riker Evans with an
elite keep right at the blue line. His skates got
outside the blue line, but he caught the puck, knocked
it down inside the blue line. The line'sman waves it
it's onside. He gets a shot off. It's a flutter,
goes off a stick beat taskarrob. This game's tied at.
Speaker 10 (22:45):
Two just over a minute and of a span for
the cracking, a punch right back and tie things up.
A moving screen gets it done there on the Evans goal.
A moving screen also got it done for the three
to two goals scored by Ryan Lindgren, the crack and
with terrific punchback when they were down by a goal
in period three. Time Now for the big win brought
