Speaker 1 (00:00):
And the Kracking power play.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Lord, this is the k Postgame Show, brought to you
by Toyota of Olympia. Now for an in depth look
at your Kraken Hockey. It's the post Game. I'm the
Global Credit Union Kraken Audio Network.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
We're back inside a PPG Paints Arena, downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Everard fits you Alconiski back alongside a three to two
overtime win for Seattle here in Pittsburgh. My, oh, my partner,
what a game this was for Seattle up one nothing
in the in the second period, tied one one after two,
(00:37):
Pittsburgh goes up on a power play, their fourth power
play the night, their first and only power play goal
of the game, and then the Kraken rountle off back
to back tallis one for Mason Marshmoth to tie the
game or many beniers rather to tie the game. And
then Montour his fourth of the year, the overtime winner
in a three to two overtime win.
Speaker 4 (00:55):
Yeah, very different game here tonight than the one you
and I witnessed twenty four hours ago. With this, this
one was more entertained than those progressive becoming your parents' commercials.
I thought Gruby had a fantastic game tonight to Seattle
out hitting the Penguins twenty two to fifteen. That Ben
but don't break mentally again came through and the reason
they didn't break is because thirty one made so many
(01:17):
big saves through out the game. Yes, he made the
mistake behind the net that resulted in a goal, but
he came up with more than his fair share of
big saves to cover for that. Reker Evans a great
game as well, two secondary apples for him in this
three two win for the.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
Crack Cracking now four and one of their last five games.
How about this partner Seattle Kracken have got points in
five of their last six four one and one heading
into this road trip finale tomorrow on Long Island against
the Islanders, and I think it's tonight for me. Really
starts from the net out Philip Grubauer another strong performance
(01:53):
in goal. He turned aside thirty one of the thirty
three shots that he faced.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
Absolutely, and you need that against any team in this league,
but certainly against a team like the Pittsburgh Penguins with
their number one power play four chances on its night,
they only got at once, so that's twenty five percent.
That's below they're thirty two percent they came into the
game with. So that's a win as far as I'm concerned.
Maybe not taking as many penalties as a better start
to that, but yeah, killing off three or the four
(02:19):
was a huge win for the Cracker well. And I
think with the penalties too.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
I mean, I if I look at areas of this
game where maybe Seattle could improve on, I think obviously
it's Grubauer, you know, maybe not turning the puck over
in the corner there and that one coming out, But
also too, I think the penalties, especially when you've got
Malkin and Crosby and the power play that they can
roll out there, they did a really good job. I
thought of limiting their opportunities. But at a certain point,
(02:45):
you give them four trips to the well, they're gonna
come up with a bucket of water at least once.
Speaker 4 (02:49):
Yeah, I mean, it's it's tries, and you just you know,
you try, you're not gonna stay in the box completely,
or at least it's rare that's gonna happen. Usually you
get a caller two your way. But four was too
many to give this Penguin team, and ultimately that fourth
one was the one they made him pay on. But yeah,
big game from Grubauer, big game from the defensive cores.
I mentioned Evans already that the physicality of this team
(03:10):
continued twenty two to fifteen favorite of the Crack and
a lot of those hits coming from the blue line.
And you know, Matty Benier's with a huge goal to
get this thing tied up. And obviously Montour with that
with that game winner and overtime was big as well.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
We'll step out one more time, come back with Oscar
Fisker Mulgard after this on the Global Credit Union, Crack
and Audio Network.

The newest member of the Seattle Crack and Oscar Fisker Mulgard,
fresh off an assist in his NHL debut two nights
ago with Chicago. Another good night tonight, Oscar, Welcome on
to the radio program.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
How you feel it.
Speaker 3 (06:01):
It's been a wild couple of days and you got
your NHL experience against two of the best in the league.
Just take us through you know your experience these last
forty eight seventy two hours of being called up and
now having two games under your belt.
Speaker 10 (06:15):
I mean that's you're saying, it's it's been pretty while.
I'm just, yeah, trying to learn every day and get
better and yeah, have a ton of fun. So it's
been been a great experience so far.
Speaker 4 (06:25):
Oscar seventy five percent in the dot tonight for you,
you won one I believe it was in the third
period and got out to the slot for a close
opportunity on a redirect from Larsen. What does what does
winning a faced off do for you in all areas
of the ice and how does that affect you each
and every shift?
Speaker 10 (06:41):
I mean, obviously it's important as a centerment to win
the face offs. It's it's a battle out there, and yeah,
it gives you a booth of confidence when when you
do win them, and that's something you've been trying to
work on and yeah, keep getting better at. So yeah,
pretty good tonight.
Speaker 4 (06:54):
Also, you know, Philip Gruber had a big game tonight,
and I know from personal experience what it's like having
a make some big saves. But what were you guys
feeling on the bench there when he was standing on
his ground making one, two and three staves at a time.
Speaker 10 (07:06):
I mean, just as you're saying, he kept us in
a game tonight. He played one hell of a game
and yeah, we probably wouldn't be here with a win
without him, So yeah, big kiddo to him, and he
played really well.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
A couple more for you.
Speaker 3 (07:17):
You played three years of pro hockey over in Sweden.
How do you feel that experience help you, you know,
acclimate and get used to playing against the NHL bigger, stronger,
faster men.
Speaker 10 (07:28):
I mean it's definitely made my game more mature. I've
been playing games, as you said, growing in for for
quite a while, so I know what it's all about,
and I'm just trying to, yeah, do my best. They're
trying to keep his solp with sometimes and get into
things and yeah, then think good things happen eventually.
Speaker 3 (07:43):
Last one for you here, Oscar. It was a wild
day for your parents. They came from your hometown, five
hour drive to Copenhagen, They flew to London, a bit
of a delay, They got to Chicago in time. Are
they still here? Did they make the drive to Pittsburgh?
What was it like having your family in the crowd
and just tell us a little bit about out you know,
what they mean to you and how they've helped your
career along. Yeah.
Speaker 10 (08:03):
I mean, unfortunately they've learnt here today and they're on
a on a flight home from from from Chicago right now,
so so that's a shame, but it's just said, it
was a probable moment for all of us. It was
great having them there and being able to share that
experience with them. I mean, they've been there for me
my whole life, and obviously I wouldn't be in this
spot without them. So yeah, I appreciate them very much,
(08:24):
and yeah, I appreciate them coming all the way here
also to share this with me.
Speaker 4 (08:28):
It probably had the game on the radio.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
Yeah, yeah, listening on the plane.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
Hey man, congrats on two really big games, two really
big wins.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
For your group. Best of luck the rest of the way.
We'll talk to you down the road.
Speaker 10 (08:39):
Thanks again, I appreciate it, all right.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
Cracking forward Oscar Fisker Mulguard following tonight's three to two
overtime win over to Pittsburgh and sell you what, man,
It's sometimes it's hard when you hear players talk about
their parents and their family and what they mean to them.
I know my mom has meant so much to me.
Mama Kay listens to every game, she pays for the
three Stars, actually sponsors a segment on the air, And
(09:02):
I know you're a proud dad.
Speaker 1 (09:03):
I'm a proud dad.
Speaker 3 (09:04):
It's so great hearing these guys talk about what their
parents and what their families mean to them.
Speaker 4 (09:09):
It always just feels different as a player when you
know your families in the audience somewhere e if you
don't know where they are, knowing they're up there, that
everything they've sacrificed for you, you get to put that on display.
And Oscar certainly did that at the other night.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
Well, Mama Kay's waiting for her unpaid, paid segment of
three Stars.
Speaker 4 (09:24):
So three to two, cracking overtime win. Take us all body, yeah,
key takeaways from me again once again. Grubauer stopping thirty
of thirty three. Big game for him tonight, Seattle out
hitting Penguins twenty two fifteen. Even though they didn't outshoot
the Penguins, they capitalize on the opportunities they got and
ended up coming out on top. Here Ben but not
break mentality continues and rayk Revns with two secondary assists tonight.
(09:47):
Three stars tonight brought to you by Mama Kay. A
third start tonight was Matty Beniers. He had one goal
and two block shots, so getting it done out there,
keeping pucks away from his goaltender. The second star goes
to Sidney Crosby. He had a goal, one assist, and
he was sixty four percent in the dot. And the
first start tonight goes to Brandon Montour. He had the
game winning goal. He was plus one two shots on
(10:09):
goal for sixty two.
Speaker 3 (10:10):
Before we go, I want to give a quick shout
out to our good luck charm here in the booth,
Grant Kuiper, a ninth grade freshman from West Virginia. I
met this young man earlier this summer in Seattle at
a sportscasting camp. He reached out to me and said, Hey,
my family is gonna come to the game at Pittsburgh.
Would love to shadow you for a day. So they
hopped in the car three and a half hours they
(10:32):
drove from their home in West Virginia to hang out
with us in the booth.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
So thanks for the time, man.
Speaker 4 (10:36):
It was great.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
It was a great menia, but that was awesome. So
a good luck charm Grant. Now we have to take
them a Long Island.
Speaker 10 (10:41):
That's right.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
Sorrybody, We'll tell your parents you're coming to Long Island
with us because you're one and oh on the Cracking broadcast.
Speaker 1 (10:47):
So that'll do it here for us.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
Cracking three to two overtime winners to the Pittsburgh Penguins
now seven to two and oh all time against Pittsburgh.
They've won their last four off to Long Island. They'll
take on the Islanders tomorrow afternoon, quick turnaround. It'll be
a five o'clock eastern, two o'clock Pacific face off. But
for now, Mike Benton will serenade you for the rest
of the evening.
Speaker 12 (11:09):
Michael, guys, I'm not so sure Grant's going anywhere here
at this point, but Crack and are want to know,
by the way, with him in the booth with you guys. Well, guys,
this team has a flair for theatrix when the lights
certainly get brighter late in the game, and they've done
it once again tonight, courtesy a Brandon Montour overtime goalie
caps off of three to two win over the Pittsburgh Penguins,
(11:29):
where the Matty Beneirs line made a big impact. Philip
Grubauer was fantastic, and Brandon Montour and the Krack ANDNT
simply opportunistic. And they have now won four of the
last five games. It is their fourth OT win of
the season, improving all time to seven and two against
the Penguins. So a lot to cover here from thirty
(11:51):
two Bar and Grill back in Seattle. Glad you're with us, folks.
We'll have our highlights coming up, our scores, I look
ahead here for the next part of the road swing
and much more more as a cap as the cracking cap,

here in this third game of the road trip, and
the Penguins in overtime, moving their record with the loss
in that frame to ten six and five. They have
twenty five points on the season. The krack Can now

of life's adventures. The Kraken had to sustain momentum against
them in period one, all part because they couldn't stay
out of the box for much of the period, and
the penalty kill came up with three big kills as well,
with Philip Grubauer additionally turning in nine saves on nine shots.
That was the foundation into the second period. The game's
(17:28):
scoreless and how soon does it take for the Kraken
and Mason Marshman's line to get it going into the
next gear.
Speaker 3 (17:35):
Ryan Shaye turns away from Maddy buteers this one flipped
up to the boards, knocked down by Marchman.
Speaker 1 (17:41):
But he gives it right back and we'll steal it
right back. Marshman fires scores.
Speaker 3 (17:47):
Mason march Ben puts the cracket on the board. Won nothing,
eighteen thirty six to play in the period. He was
so excited when he celebrated that he to picked the
face planted on the ice.
Speaker 1 (18:02):
I'm sorry for laughing, bush cracking on the board and
what not.
Speaker 4 (18:06):
Well, it was Marshman that kept the puck in at
the offensive blue line there, kept it deep and then
hung around the top of the circles and got a
gift from the Penguins defenseman which was the puck and
uh shot from the top of the circles. Beats for
her Bershov.
Speaker 12 (18:21):
It's one nothing, cracking tongue in cheek, Mason Marshman saying
later on in the broadcast to US Live that he
just kind of caught a rut in the ice. Well,
he can celebrate however he wants. That was a big goal.
It's his first goal since opening night, second in the season,
coming at one twenty four unassisted to put the crack
in on top one nothing. As Mason Marshman is out
(18:41):
of an eighteen game goal scoring drought. But the Penguins
had an answer for their first goaling over in ninety
nine minutes of play sixteen sixteen, the time for Sydney
Crosby's thirteen goal of the season, capitalizing off a giveaway
deep in the crack and zone, Connor Doer, the former
Everence Silver, set him up in the left boards to
(19:02):
tie the game at one in this contest in the balance,
with twenty minutes to play, the Penguins threat coming on
the fourth time the Kraken went down a man, and
you figured, you give them so many chances, they're going
to cash in eventually, and if Guinny Malkin did so.
Five point fifty six into period three, jamming in a
loose pug gloves side on, Philip Grubauer, Ben Kendall and
(19:23):
Crosby had the assists and the Kraken had some work
to do. But then a little over twelve minutes gone by,
here comes the Matty Baneers line once again getting right
back to work.
Speaker 3 (19:35):
Evans on the left wing gives it up to Mason
Mershman backside from Benier, settles, shootsos Matty Baneers from the
right circle as he tucks it up over the shoulder
of miroshav And in the Seattle cracket tie the game
in the third two to two, seven twenty four to

go in regulation.
Speaker 4 (19:57):
Well, it was everyly in front of the Ned had
dumb but tied up the Keeve Matti Vaneer's space behind
the bottom of the circles over that right side. He
got a fantastic feet from Marchmant had all the time
of the day to roof it. This game's tied at two.
Speaker 12 (20:10):
Well, this line was one of our story lines back
in pregame coverage, and did they come through in spades.
First off, it was Marchman breaking out of a drought,
and then Matty Evaneers that an eight game goal scoring
drought at twelve thirty six of period three and he
just simply beats the goaltender Sergei murashav pie uncontested right circle.
(20:30):
Third goal of the year from Benier's courtesy Mason Marchmant
and Ryker Evans also giving Marchmant the two hundredth point
of his NHL career to help force this game into overtime.
All tied up at two, the crack and then sustaining
plenty of zone time back in their own end. But
what happens when you give the puck? It's a random
(20:52):
Montour when the lights get even brighter.
Speaker 3 (20:55):
Gets roll through center left side, over the blue line,
gets roll to the law.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
Montour walks in shots stood.
Speaker 3 (21:06):
Monte Mania in overtime in Pittsburgh.
Speaker 1 (21:11):
It's a three to two Seattle crack and win.
Speaker 4 (21:14):
What a great fee that Monterre received just inside the
middle of the blue line of the offensive end. He
has tons of time to get his space up. He
beats Burushov low crack.
Speaker 1 (21:23):
And win three to two. Bring on the final cakes and.
Speaker 12 (21:28):
That gives Brandon Montour the second goal of his career
against the Penguins, and it's a big one, fourth on
the season, coming at four to ten into overtime, also
marking his first game winner of this year. Freddie Gadreau
with the assist on the play along with Ryker Evans
as a young defenseman capitalizing with that a multi point
(21:49):
game on his side as well, and the Krack and
earning their fourth win in sudden depth overtime in the season.
Now four and five, and this one was a thriller.
The theme was Bend but don't break, and the Cap
and the Kraken capitalizing off of that and a three
to two overtime win over the Pittsburgh Penguins. Your final
shots on net here for this one, thirty three to
(22:11):
twenty one in favor of Pittsburgh. The Kraken penalty kill
good enough here to sustain this one, Pittsburgh going one
to four in the power play of the Kracking going
over two on their side, and the win and net
going to Philip Grubauer, who was fantastic thirty one save
effort here on this evening. It is his fourth victory
in a row. His record also is now four to
(22:32):
oh and one OT loss to Sergei Murashav turning in
an eighteen save effort, his record is now one to

Speaker 3 (23:05):
Here's Sidney Crosby left side, now for Carl sitting down
the slot.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
Shot glove save bye Grubauer, He'll hold on.
Speaker 12 (23:14):
And that was plenty of the first period that told
the story as far as the chances that grubauers saw
nine saves on nine shots. Wasn't his busiest here, but
certainly facing plenty of high danger chances, and the gloves
certainly helping him mount to sustain nothing. Nothing tie at
the end of one period. Then the Penguins looking to
tie this thing up with a crack and up one
(23:35):
nothing go to Sidney Crosby's line. Latent period two, Connor.
Speaker 3 (23:39):
Deer left wing still said this in behind, Grubauer out
to play it, Sandering fainted front, Tour out to Crosby.
He scores, Sidney Crosby in the slot. Connor Tour picked
up the puck in the left corner. Grubauer came out
to play it, a little slow getting back into the goal.
