Speaker 1 (00:00):
And the Kraken power play Lord.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
This is the Krek Postgame Show, brought to you by
Toyota of Olympia. Now for an in depth look at
your Kraken hockey. It's the post game on the Global
Credit Union Krakkin Audio Network.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
Like Betton Alkaniski with you back at Scotiabang Saddle Dome.
As impressive as it gets. In period three, that's how
the Kraken close out with four goals in the final
twenty minutes and they get five an answered goals this evening,
five to one victory, and they've even this season series
up at one apiece and are now seven to zero
and one of their last eight games in.
Speaker 4 (00:36):
I mean, they're playing fantastic hockey right now, a very
structured game. They're playing the lane Lampert system that's been
brought in, and they're playing deep as well, and it's
paying off.
Speaker 3 (00:46):
Philip Grubauer was without question, one of the most remarkable
that we saw on the ice here for tonight and
one of the more remarkable games here that we saw
here for this season. He turned in a forty one
safe effort as well. But you go back and think
where this game could have gotten well off the tracks
that penalty shot he had again shot at the Hubert.
He kind of got a sense it began to turn
(01:06):
the tide a little bit and the Krack and made
the appropriate adjustments. Between periods one and two.
Speaker 4 (01:11):
Yeah, they absolutely did, and you know, not surprisingly, the
home team came out flying there in the first period.
They got the first goal the game, first time in
the last eight games where the crack and haven't gotten
that first goal. But they bent but did not break,
as we often say, coming back in that second period,
Jacob Mallonson getting his first goal in the NHL to
tie things up, and then that third period it was
all cracking putting it away from goals from right done
(01:35):
Goodrow and Matty Beneer's.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
Jacob Mallonson picking up the first goal of his NHL
career and a goal that he won't ever forget for
the rest of his entire life. Freddie Goodroux also with won,
Shane Wright on his twenty second birthday with one, Vin's
done one and Matty Banier is a finishing touches here
in period three. But again we talk about the fourth
line and the damage that they do physically, Yet they
were finding ways took a tribute offensively once again. They
(02:00):
do so here for tonight, where they again hit the
score team for the fourth straight game.
Speaker 4 (02:04):
Yeah, listen, you know, when the fourth line can contribute offensively,
they're playing at a level that's higher than what you know,
what's expected. What's expected is that they don't hurt you defensively,
so you know, they don't give up goals, they don't
give up bad plays. They play structured hockey, they play
the system, and when they can get an opportunity to
get some offensive going they do. This let line is
(02:25):
going to the next level where they're they're not only
competing in those initial areas I mentioned about, but they
are contributing offensively, especially when it's the first goal of
the game, when you're down a goal, to get the
momentum going in the right direction like that Mallonson goal
did to J Mikey.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
What'd you make out of the discipline side of this,
given the fact that Calgary got just one power play
here for this evening.
Speaker 4 (02:44):
Yeah, again, big part of you know that the structure
of this team, they do play a discipline game game,
which is difficult if you're expecting a very physical game,
specifically from your fourth line, but across all of the lines,
you know, it's difficult to play that way and stay
out of the box, and the Crack is showing tonight
that that they can do that again.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
Calgary's only goal on the board of Adam Klapka back
at six thirty three here period one, Jonathan Huberto had
a penalty shot up and the Krack and taken off
after that. With goals by Jacob Alanson, Shane Wright, Vince Dunn,
Freddy Gadreaux and Maddy Benierz as well, the Crack at
seven to one in their last eight games. They have
bodies healthier, getting back into the lineup and once again
(03:24):
finding ways to win. As Philip Grubauer turns in a
new season high with a forty one say that for
showing that goaltending helping take care of business.
Speaker 4 (03:32):
Well, I said. He average nine to four h save
percentage coming into the game tonight over the last five
a two goals against average. Tonight he allowed one goal
and he had a a nine to seven to six
say percentage, So playing above his average over the last five,
He's playing some fantastic hockey right now.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
We expect more reaction back down from the room coming
up in just a bit. For now, we'll step beside
back after this. This is a global credit union crack
an Audio network.
Speaker 5 (03:59):
Hey, this is everything.
Speaker 6 (04:00):
See you.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
Back in Scotia, Bang settled Dome, the crack and again
not got the flames. Five one down to the Room
we go live. Joining us now was Krack and center
Ben Meyers joining us. Ben, congratulations on the win. What'd
you make out of your team? And also how they
hit foot to gas and getting in period three?
Speaker 10 (06:26):
Yeah, I thought we just stuck with it all night
and you know, got down ones. Uh oh one there,
and we just stuck with it and kind of took
control as the game went along.
Speaker 4 (06:34):
How important, Benny, is that first goal of the game
when obviously you didn't get it like you have for
the last eight games, But getting that tying goal obviously
from your line Melons to getting his first NHL how
important is that and what does that do for the
team on the bench?
Speaker 11 (06:48):
Yeah, t huge.
Speaker 10 (06:48):
Obviously you're always trying to get off to a good
start and then it's not gonna happen every time. But yeah,
that was a great response from mel there and awesome
to see him get us first.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
And we had a couple of goals on the board
that we've talked about that guy won't forget for a
long time. Jacob Alanson's first career at NHL goal, Shane
Wright scoring one on his per day, Jordan Everley also
getting a win in his eleven hundredth career at NHL games.
So emotionally, how charge up are these guys after.
Speaker 10 (07:14):
A win like this, especially for them, Yeah, locker room's
pretty fired up. We got I think Lars two hundred
and fifty points too, so yeah, yeah, a lot of
lots to celebrate after this one is a good win.
Speaker 4 (07:24):
So I can't help but here Grand Front Railroads to
some kind of wonderful play in the background, and it
certainly feels some kind of wonderful when you do battle
back from a one being down a goal to win
this one on the road. Is that that you had
the winning game song for the locker room.
Speaker 10 (07:39):
Yeah, that's what we're riding with right now.
Speaker 4 (07:40):
I love it. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (07:42):
Well, when we talk about back to backs, we talk
about a short memory and kind of flipping the switch
a little bit here. But how has this team been
adapted here to that second game of back to back recently?
Speaker 10 (07:52):
Yeah, obviously got a lot of them are on our
schedule right now, and yeah, you know, I think we've
we've played them well so far. And uh, you know,
we don't make any excuses going into these games, and
you know we're gonna get our best effort every night.
Speaker 4 (08:06):
So, Benny, I talked about that first goal Melly's first NHL,
but it was actually the Shane Raikal that you assisted
on that ended up being the game winning goal. Walk
us through that. What did you see out there on
that play?
Speaker 10 (08:17):
Yeah, I think it was Canner made a nice play
in the D zone. And I ended up getting the
puck and it looked like the you know, one of
their d had a bad gap and then Shane just
made a great drive to the net and beat everybody
and I was able to get it to him.
Speaker 4 (08:30):
You put it right on his tape.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
Great, great play again the Crack and win five one
on this one. A very fired up blocker room and
joining this one as well, Ben, go back and enjoy
appreciate your time.
Speaker 10 (08:38):
Thanks awesome, Thanks guys, appreciate it.
Speaker 3 (08:40):
Ben Meyers joining us live. Back down to the room
right now, the Crack and win again five one onto
our final takeaways and your three stars out go ahead.
Speaker 4 (08:48):
Yeah, absolutely, key takeaways. I started riding these early in
the in the game, but uh, you know, not a
great start for the Crack and giving up that first
goal by Calgary on the Klapka you know tip in
the air was a little different for them. They had
back from some adversity here tonight, which they did. Grubauer
a fantastic game for them, specifically the hero do penalty
shot that was unsuccessful because he made a great save
(09:10):
on fourth line. Continuing to contribute that first goal by Milanson.
Three more points in total for that line tonight, so
that was huge Grewauer ending with going back to Grubauer
ending with a ninety seven to six save percentage and
stopping forty one of forty two was absolutely a key takeaway.
And then I love that some kind of wonderful going
in the background as well. So three stars were brought
(09:30):
to you tonight by Mamakay. Third star goes to Calgary's
Adam Klapka. He had a goal, three shots on goal tonight.
He had the first and only goal for the Calgary Flames.
Second star goes to Shane Wright on that go ahead
game winning goal. He was plus one tonight. He had
two shots on goal as well. And then the first
star goes to the netminder of Philip Grubauer nine to
seven to sixty percentage stopping forty one of forty two,
(09:53):
including the Jonathan Huberto penalty shot.
Speaker 7 (09:56):
And we'll do it for here.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
Glad you joined us as saving again. Up next, it

Welcome to the postgame show Crack and Fans. Stop me
if you've heard this one before. Groobauer with an excellent game.
The fourth line dominates play when they're on the ice,
including the game tie goal, a close game entering period three,
and the boys play clean, smart hockey with the lead
and the floodgates open for four goals in period three
to seal the dub and now with points in eight straight.
(14:46):
Just like that, Seattle is in third place in the
Pacific Division and only one point back from first place Vegas.
It's runs like these that prove massive when fighting for
playoff spots in such a tight race in the West
String Conference. So how did it all go down? Let's
get to the highlights. This Seattle Crack and Drive the
Net scoring recap is brought to you by Chevy Colorado.
(15:09):
Whether you're an outdoor enthusiast urban explorer or do it yourself,
die hard. There's a Colorado trim to help you do more.
Chevy Colorado skates circles around the competition. Well, early on
in period one, the Flames came out hot and Adam
Klafka would get the scoring started for the home side.
Speaker 3 (15:31):
Flames take it over with seventeen fifty laps and they
get it right back. Here comes Winterson right wing, flame zone,
low shots, say wolf has it from Malonson, he's gons
there's that fourth line once again.
Speaker 6 (15:46):
Shacob A.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
Wanson got the blocker side post up dust and the
Wolf bangs it in with seventeen forty three to go
in period one. It is his first and the Kraken
have tied this game at one to one.
Speaker 4 (16:00):
Well, Ryan Winterton down that right side, puts a shot
on net, gets his own rebound just before he goes
down below with the back of the net, puts it
across the grease to Malonson on the far side. Blonson
hammers at home. This keeps tight at one.
Speaker 6 (16:13):
Yeah, that's Jacob Malonson's first NHL goal. After the Adam
Klapka goal to get it started and Seattle would answer
back and like I said, his first NHL goal for
Jacob Malanson from Ryan Winterton to seventeen into the second
period after the Flames took a one zero lead heading
into period two. That's not points in four straight for
Jacob Malanson and Ryan Winterton is the fourth line once
(16:34):
again comes up huge and we stayed tied at one
heading to period three. I know it's weird to look
at that, and you look at the final score, but
let's head to period three and Shane Wright, on his
twenty second birthday, came up huge with.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
Rumon left wing, Myers under the zone, passing front to right.
Speaker 19 (16:50):
He's gons eighteen oh three left and period three, birthday
boy on the spot, he ain't right driving the front
of that picks up his seventh gold this season, and
the Kraken have taken the lead for the first time
this evening at two to one.
Speaker 4 (17:10):
Well, it's Ben Myers done that left side. He's got
a full head of steam. You can hear his linemates going, go,
go go, and he flies down that left side. He
puts a saucer pass cross legs for Shane Wright to
put up over the blocker slide on Dustin Wolf two
to one, cracking.
Speaker 6 (17:25):
Just a massive goal from Shame Wright on his birthday
from Ben Myers at one fifty seven in period three
and gave the crack and the lead and they would
not look back. But they weren't done yet because Vince
Dunn gave them an extra buffer later on in period three.
Speaker 3 (17:41):
Done to Larson leads at right wing Cocko into the
Calgary zone to the middle. Now for Dunness Sohn.
Speaker 20 (17:47):
He's gones the krack and find the trailer and Vin's
done parking won right past Dustin Wolf.
Speaker 3 (17:56):
With fourteen minutes and forty eight seconds left in regular
It's fenced to six of the year and the crack
and keep on rolling. They laid the flames three to one.
Speaker 4 (18:08):
Coppococko doing a great job coming down the right side.
He pulls up not before the blue line, right after
the blue line to let his linemates go hard to
that he finds Vince Dunn trailing, puts it right on
his tape. Don beats Wolf glove side top shelf three
to one, cracking.
Speaker 6 (18:23):
Just another great goal from Vince Donne as he once
again proves that you can bring a ton of offense
from the blue line and yet another goal from a
kracking defenseman. It has been something that has been very
common in twenty five, twenty six and later on. Frederick
Gadreau would get the empty net goal to seal it,
but the cracking weren't done there. Maddy Beveniers would also
(18:44):
get one, not even with the empty net, with the
goalie back out there, and seal the five to one victory.
Now it's time for our Chillis moments, brought to you
by cors Light Cracken fans reminder, you can win your
chance to sit in the cors Light Silver seats. Go
to Corslight dot com forwards slash Seattle crack and to
enter must be twenty one years of age. No purchase necessary.
(19:05):
Cores Light choose chill celebrate responsibly well. Right after the
Kraken went down one zero in period one, Adam Larson
would commit a hooking penalty on a breakaway, giving the
Flames a penalty shot. And this one could have easily
gotten away from the Kraken if not for Philip Grubauer.
Speaker 3 (19:26):
Right here here we know the left team going right
to left across your dial, picks up the puck and
swings wide left side moving in rest shut blockers say
by Philip Grubauer and turns that one away to keep
it one nothing and the Kraken bench reacting with an
emotional lift.
Speaker 6 (19:44):
Just a huge moment there because it could have easily
gotten out of reach for the Kraken early on. And
that was one of forty one saves today for Philip
Grubauer and the Kraken netminer continues his excellent season and
once again gets the win tonight in Calgary, and our
second Chillist moment of the night is Freddie Gudreau with
(20:04):
the empty net goal to seal it.
Speaker 3 (20:06):
And then Aaron puck off the skate of Hubert Ol
cracking control Gadreux for the empty net.
Speaker 20 (20:10):
He's goeds.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
Launched down from about roughly one hundred and seventy feet
and Freddie gadreu Valli's it all the way in we
two minutes and thirty five seconds left in regulation.
Speaker 4 (20:27):
It is his.
Speaker 3 (20:28):
Fourth goal of the season and fans in Calgary heading
toward the exits, it's for to one cracking well.
Speaker 4 (20:35):
Good board work there by Ryan Lindran and Chandler Stevens
and Channer season rather than trying to just put the
puck back up the wall recognizes that Freddy Gadrouz in
the middle of the ice, kind of top of the
circles area, but a soft spot back end feed to him.
Freddy's got lots of time to put that puck down
bottom corner for to one. Cracking.
Speaker 6 (20:53):
Yeah, Frederick Gadreau with just a door shutter, he's stopping
any chance of Calgary getting back in this game. As
they pulled the goalie with about four minutes to go,
and once again the crack can do an excellent job
playing with the lead, playing clean hockey, doing the right things,
doing the little things, and the floodgates open in the
third period to get the five to one victory. Now
(21:14):
time for our big win and the Evergreen Council and
problem gambling wants you to remind you at the end
of the game you should still be having fun. Know
the real score about gambling. Visit keep it fun wa

head to Ottawa where Detroit was looking to get back

to winning ways. North of the border.
Speaker 21 (21:39):
Otto Bernard doctor pass in front, turning firing scores. That
was a turnaround shot by James van Riemsdike get deflected
in front and in behind Mary Line in sixteen point
nine seconds to go on the period and the Red
Wings now lead three to nothing.
Speaker 6 (21:56):
That's James van Reemsdike and route to a second star
performance with one goal and to assist as Detroit gets
back in the wind column as they sit in first
place in the Atlantic Division right now. But in Calgary tonight,
the Seattle crack and win this one five to one.
