The cracking power flavor.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
This is the Kraking Postgame Show, brought to you by
Toyota of Olympia. Now for an in depth look at
your Kraken hockey. It's the post game on the Emerald
Queen Casino Krakin Audio Network.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
For the final time tonight, Welcome back inside of Delta
Center here in Salt Lat City, Utah, alongside al Kiniski.
I am Everard Fitz you kracking falling seven to one
to the Utah Hockey Club. They will end the season
oh twelve and oh in game twos of back to
backs now outscored forty nine to seventeen in those games.

(00:41):
I was doing some quick counting here. My count was burning.
Hey man, my head was burning four times now this
season one, two, three, four. My eyes are not as
because they used to be. Four times now five times
this season the Kraken have allowed five or more in
game twos of back to backs.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
Yeah, it's really indicative of the difficulty this team's had
in those second games of back to backs. It's easy
just to say it's exhaustion exhaustion, but there's a who
large part of it that's mental. Some of it's even
structure on how to approach back to backs. All three
need to get addressed for next season.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
When I was gonna ask you too, I mean, at
what point is it personnel? Is it game plan? Is
it simply?

Speaker 4 (01:23):
Is it fitness? You know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (01:25):
I don't think I've ever seen a team go winless
in so many back.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
To back situations.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Yeah, it could.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
It could be fitness. That's an obvious start, because exhaustion
plays into the game as well. How you play the game. No,
you don't change your entire structure, but you have to
be smart defensively. You have to get back maybe a
little sooner than you normally would. You don't pitch maybe
as a defenseman quite as much because you know you're
not gonna have the juice to get back like you
would in that first game. So a lot of things

(01:52):
that you have to do in those games to stay competitive. Obviously,
goaltender needs to be above average in those second games
as well. But I think the big thing is is
that it's easy to get into the excuse game where
you go, uh oh, here we go and things start
falling apart from there. So there's lots of things that
need to get worked on. It's not just fitness, you know.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
I mean, I hate to be that guy, but you
look at this game. There really wasn't a whole lot
of positives for the Seattle crack and you break up
the shutout. Jared mccannon now one point shy of sixty
with his twenty first goal of the season. Andre Berrekowski
Ben's done on the assist, so break Cowski continues his
torrid late season play. But I mean, I think for me,
if we're looking for bright spots, the lone bright spot

(02:37):
Victor Ossman coming in third period in relief, not how
I think he wanted to make his NHL debut, but
he stops all thirteen shots he faces in eighteen thirty
or twenty minutes rather of ice time, on his way
to a shutout period one thousand, say percentage in the NHL,

(02:58):
zero zero goals against good. Good on the kid, the
twenty four year old kid in his NHL debut tonight.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
Absolutely, And like I said, coming into a game, obviously
you want to start a game. But typically a backup goaltender,
a goaltender coming in the league is going to go
in at some point during a game and get his
first saves of the NHL pro player in that kind
of a situation. So he did just that, didn't have
to come in mid period, came in at the start
of the second period after the break and had a

(03:24):
chance to get his mind right for it as he
came in and got a little bit of a personal
warm up before the period started, and he looked good.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
And I guess another bright spot for Seattle. They won
the third period, won nothing over at Utah.

Speaker 5 (03:35):
All over to you to close.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
This up absolutely. You know, I mentioned in my keys
having to win that first period against this Utah hockey club,
cracking did not. They went down three nothing in that
first period. That was a big part of how things
got squirrely. Secondly, you know, you look at Joey to
Cord allowing seven tonight. Listen, Elite goaltenders are good, great

(03:57):
most of the time. Often they're even fantastic. Yeah, but
every once in a while the wheels just fall off.
They're allowed to have bad games. This was a bad
game tonight for Joey to Cord. I have all the
confidence in the world he'll bounce back for the Vegas
game later this week. So those are my two key takeaways.
Mama Kay and brother, Kay, you are your three stars tonight.
Third star tonight. They're all Utah Hockey good players. Clinton

(04:19):
Keller was your third star. He was one on one
with four shots on goal. I think this was a
theme shots on goal. Dylan Gunther he had three assissiated
five shots on goal. And Mikhail Sergerchev he was her
first star. He had a goal and two insist and
I'm not even going to give you a shots on goal. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
Fourth star to me our producer here, Jason Yeah, fixing
all the getting all the bugs out of the system
pregame and then he put on his good humor hat
and he became the ice cream man. Thank you so
much for that, brother, That was awesome. That'll do it
here from us in depth of center Crack and following
seven to one, they will wrap up the road portion
of the schedule in Las Vegas coming up two days

(04:57):
time against the Golden Knights. Only three games left, nine
periods of hockey left for the Seattle Craken back home

those games. Go to krackinockey dot com slash tickets, find

Speaker 5 (05:28):
All right, guys, thank you very much. Safe flight out
to Las Vegas. And we know sometimes that the road
is smooth on the road as well in some days
it's bumpy in today. Unfortunately for the Kraken it was
the ladder as that's now the thing in the past
and the third and final matchup and the Kraken is
settling here for two wins out of three this season
against Utah tonight it is a seven to one final

on Thursday should be very compelling, because tonight this game

(08:45):
got out the tracks in a hurry, and the Cracking
now in position to try for a fierce one eighty
Thursday as they fall here in the final game of
a three game series for the season against Utah despite
a brief but impressive debut from a newcomer making his
NHL debut. Your final score seven to one Utah over
the Kraken tonight from Delta Center as a crack and

(09:07):
fall to thirty four, thirty nine and six point total
last seventy four, and Utah, who staves off elimination, improves
now to thirty six, thirty and twelve their point total
at eighty four, and time now for the highlights in
this Seattle kracken driving. The next scoring Recamp is brought
to you by the Chevy Colorado. Whether you're an outdoor

(09:28):
enthusiast urban explorer or do it yourself die hard, there's
a Colorado trim to help you do more. Chevy Colorado
skate circles around the competition. Well early on, you gotta
be ready when the puck is on the tick of
Mikael Sergachev. And here's the challenge right here.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
Back up to Shan Jersey now for Stenlan into the
high slot. Cirguchevs Chicks, who stars Pakale Sergachev to a
screen in front in the Utah he caught in a
lumber at the breed seventeen sixteen.

Speaker 5 (09:59):
It's a play this first period, Mikhale Sergachev getting his
fifteen goal the season, blasting that shot through traffic just
two minutes and forty four seconds, sent in in similar fashion,
the crack and falling behind early, just like in Los
Angeles last evening and this evening as well. It begins
as they were chasing from behind the Sergachev building on

(10:19):
a career high fifteen goals. Kevin Stenlin and Sean Dursey
ab the assists, coming at two forty four, but unfortunately
for the Kraken, after they had an impressive showing by
Joey to Core with a big save. The period got
way off the tracks when they again, just like last night,
got into five on three troubles, Brandon Montour going off

(10:40):
for tripping at twelve to twenty six and then eight
seconds later it would be Jamie alexiak offer a double
minor for high sticking as well. Utah then taking advantage
Clayton Keller getting a two man advantage goal is twenty
seventh of the season at twelve to fifty four from
Sergachev and Dylan Gunther to make it two nothing as

(11:00):
he converted from the right circle. After that, a former
cracking teammate gets in on.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
The act Utah up top Jersey I slock Koli in
the middle don't give up. Stores back to back power
play goals for the Utah Hockey Club Kyler Yamamoto against
his former team makes it up three nothing.

Speaker 5 (11:24):
Utah lead so Kyler Yamamoto getting just his second goal
of the season as he parked that one into a
gaping net with a one time around the left circle
and was set up by Josh Stone and Logan Cooley
coming at sixteen twenty eight as Utah go into a
familiar theme. The power play needed a ton of damage
here on that fascet this evening. Taking a three to

(11:46):
nothing lead into the dressing room after one period of play,
Utah then went right back to work. Just sixteen seconds
into period two, Lawson Krauss got a twelve goal of
the year that coming unassisted, and he gets his fourth
goal in twelve games against the Crack in lifetime to
make it a four to nothing game. They boost the

(12:06):
lead to five nothing, Dylan gun Through, the former Seattle
Thunderbird getting into an open lane and found Logan Cooley
for an easy tap him gun through with a multi
point game at that point, as Cooley gets his twenty
third goal of the season, coming at eleven fifteen, Gunther
and Clayton Keller as well picking up the assists. Nick
Schmaltzen beating Joey to Cord for his eighteenth to the

(12:28):
season at sixteen oh five, Guntherer and Mikal Sergachev with
the six, then Michael Karcone attacking on as he made
it seven nothing after Schmaltz's goal, Carcone getting his seventh
at eighteen oh seven, Michael kessel Ring and Kevin Stenlin
with the assists to Coors. Night would be done. After
appearing in net for two straight evenings. Victor Osman we

(12:51):
leaving him to begin period three after the cord getting
twenty two saves on twenty nine shots. So third period
with ostmin In out of the crack and move.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
Forwards, McCann in front, scales Andre Berkowski finds McCann in front.
It's a power play goal for Seattle just twenty three
seconds in.

Speaker 5 (13:14):
And the Kracknner on the board.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
It's a seven to one Utah.

Speaker 3 (13:18):
Lead, much the way the Utah Utah Hockey Club has
scored a couple of times tonight. That backdoor pass, it's
Brekowski on the half wall on the power play, finds
McKinnon streaking in times to pass perfectly, puts it on
his forehead. It's easy tap in. This game's now seven
to one.

Speaker 5 (13:34):
So granted at this part of the game in Italy
is late, but still a nice gesture to Osman to
help him get settled in and to the Kraken just
twenty three seconds to convert their first goal of the
night in front of him. As McCann picked up his
twenty first goal of the season. Andre Berkowski and Ben's
done with the assists coming off again, the penalty to

(13:56):
Ian Cole for interference entering period number three, the Kraken
getting their first and only power play goal of the night,
as McCann now with seven points in his previous three games.
But as far as the scoring, that would be that
seven to one your final score Utah over the Kraken
in the third and final meeting and the Kraken settling

(14:16):
for two wins out of three and the head to
head series, they fall to three and one on the
road trip and they have found back to backs too
tough here as far as a whole this season, twelve
games the Kraken winless in that situation. Winter Gonnette this
evening Correl Vamelca, who improves on the season to twenty five,
twenty one and seven, the Milka on the ninth, turning

(14:39):
in an eighteen save effort last of net to Joey Decord,
as we said, who played the first two periods before
Victor Osman took over, and the Cord turning in again
twenty two saves this record on the year, falling to
twenty seven, twenty one and five for the record as well,
Osmin split this year between EHL Kansas City and AHL

(15:00):
at Chella Valley. His NHL debut goes off twelve saves
on twelve shots, time out for the cors Lights Cillus

through that and in the second shots on goal a
bit hard to come by, but there's where Jaden Schwartz
went hunting as he was looking for the first cracking goal.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
Chandler Stevenson, He's convinced done for a shot right on
turn to side, grabout Jaden Schwartz turned down crack her
out go great oft.

Speaker 3 (15:42):
By Schwartz are finding that rebound coming across the crease
and putting back on net.

Speaker 5 (15:45):
That was Schwartz's first shot of the game at that point.
Still Utah for a crack of nothing, but Schwartz getting
right into the dirty areas a great place to try
to go hunting and search for that game's first goal.
On the cracking side, then the moment number two. Some
players would tell you they would do anything to display
in one game in the NHL. But tonight Victor Osman
got his chance in net and Utah immediately put him

(16:09):
to the test.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
Logan Cooley into Gunther, tries to get around her up
Gunther on goal Osman, what a club same with some
style in finesse. He'll club that down and we'll go
to a time out nine fifty nine to play in
the third seven to one Utah.

Speaker 5 (16:29):
Yeah, not exactly an easy combination to stop. If Victor
Osmin's got a tale to tell for the rest of
his life after he turned away. That all a part
of twelve saves he made in period three, a part
of his NHL debut. He made the most of it
despite difficult circumstances in that camping off Victor Austin's debut
at Delta Center in period three. This evening time now,

Speaker 17 (21:45):
Nice first Uh. They played with speed and pace and
uh we said that a little bit with our uh
puck play a couple of turnovers, uh not a couple
handful of turnovers, uh exposed with their speed and uh

(22:11):
how dangerous they are on the rush. And then we
give them, you know, killing penalties off that many in
the in the first period and they get two goals
on it. They have a dangerous power play and they
give them a four minute they capitalized, and you know
that kind of dictated the game.

Speaker 2 (22:29):
What did you see there your team when it comes
to their kind of emotions and how they manage their frustration.

Speaker 1 (22:33):
In this one? Uh, I you know, I just just I.

Speaker 17 (22:42):
I I think, uh, you know, dis disappointment with how
this one kind of unraveled.

Speaker 8 (22:47):
I'll I'll say they uh.

Speaker 17 (22:51):
Again getting down. I think we we left our our
goaltender route to dry a little bit, especially with uh
giving them so many power plays and how dangerous they
are there, you know, uh, and just disappointment and that
that's not the type of hockey we've been playing as
of late. And it was a challenge, certainly with back

(23:15):
to back something we.

Speaker 14 (23:17):
You know, know, we got to get better at and.

Speaker 17 (23:22):
Uh not you know, disappointed with with the I don't
want to say the effort of the guys, but just
how this game unfolded. It's you know, it's disappointing.
