Speaker 1 (00:00):
Thanks Mike Lane after that for two loss in Calgary today,
So go saying that you weren't too happy with the performance.
Just take us back through that game and were you
thought the differences were between the loss against Colorado at
home and then against Calgary two days later.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
I thought we played much faster and much more direct
against Colorado than we did against Calgary. You know, we
were too slow to move pucks at times, stud for zone.
I didn't establish the same for check pressure that we
had against Colorado. So, you know, it's getting back to

(00:36):
a consistent mindset that we have to attack him beyond
our toes and force teams into you know, making mistakes,
which we did against Colorado.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
Is there something you can point to, particularly about the
style of both opponents that caused the Kraken to play
a little differently between Colorado and Calgary.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
No, I don't think so. I think it was just
more on us than anything. You know, we have to
be uh prepared to do the same things over and
over again on a consistent basis, and that's where we're
you know, having trouble right now. And that's what happens
when you get into a situation where you haven't won
many games. Is Uh, there's a reason for it. Inconsistency

(01:16):
is one of them.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Seattle trading Mason Marshmoth to Columbus yesterday ahead of the
holiday Uh freeze. When you lose a player from the
locker room, what type of effect if any, do you
feel that can have on on the guys in the room.
And then also what about that makes that next man
up mentality so important? Like you guys have been had
to embrace all season long.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Well, yeah, no, it's just a matter of you know,
we've we've had to do that all year long. We've
had to, you know, go through guys getting injured. We
still have guys getting injured. You know. We made this
decision for you know, for our hockey team, for you know,
for future and and we'll see where it goes from here.

(01:55):
But certainly every player on this team has a up
to do tonight when they come to the building. They're
all professionals, so there shouldn't really be any.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Effect looking at that next man mentality. At least based
off Land Rushes this morning, it looks like Coppolcaco will
have an opportunity up on that top line spot. He
had a goal last time out against Calgary. How have
you liked his game in recent games and what are
you looking for from him tonight?

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Well, I think it's coming around again. I've talked about
the fact that he's been injured, you know, training camp
and then came back and got injured right away again.
So he's kind of, you know, he's trying to catch
the moving train, so to speak. I think he's catching
it a little better now. This is a good opportunity.
He's had some success in the past playing with Maddie Beneers,
so I think, you know, I'm looking forward to seeing

(02:41):
him playing up there.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
Seven game point streak for Chandler Stevenson. He's a leader
on this team, both on the ice and in the
locker room. What have you liked about his game the
last week and a half.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
Well, I think he's been fairly direct with his game,
which we need Chandler to be. You know, he's got
tremendous speed and power. He's so smooth that sometimes you
don't really realize he's moving at that speed. But certainly
I think he's been using that speed to his advantage
and to our advantage. And you know, he continues to

(03:12):
play against other team's top lines. He continues to get
the toughest matchups, you know, so good on him for
having a seven game point street.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
You've seen San Jose twice this season. You know they're fast,
and they're skilled, and they have a lot of star power,
a lot of firepower on that roster. What are you
expecting out of them here tonight in this season finale
and what do you want to see from your group
to help Negate? A lot of what they can offer.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
Well, we've got to play our game and so we've
got to be solid defensively. But we can help Negate,
you know, their offensive power by playing in the offensives
on ourselves, you know, putting pressure on them to defend.
That's one way to do it. So we're looking to
plan our toes and attack. But I will say this,
this team is on puck's San Jose. You don't have

(03:54):
a lot of time and space. Our team has to
be prepared to do things quickly with the puck when
we get the puck, not only in our zone, but
in the neutral zone and in the offensive zone. They're
a fast team, that's what uh uh and they and
they do things quickly and that's what makes them, dangerous,
