It's time to come off game four of a six
game road trip and enter a place where the crackerer
looking to build on a good thing. Coming off a
thrilling Albert Time win and ready for a thrill of
an incoming NHL debut. They have turnheads to start the season.
They have turned in great starts for several players, and
now they're looking to turn this game into another. W
for the starts of the lane Lambert Era. A pleasant
(00:47):
and happy Monday, jun You wherever you may be, and
welcome to Seattle Crack and Hockey live on the Global
Credit Union Crack and Audio Network. Your pre game show
is served up by Frosted Tours, Light Juice Chill Tonight
from x Finnan Tembilere. The first matchup of the regular
season coming up between the Seattle Kraken and the Philadelphia Flyers.
Mike Betton Alkiniski with you, Hia top rinks side Everett
(01:09):
Fitzu's got TV this evening. Glad you can be with
us here on a monumental night potentially in Seattle sports history.
More on that in a bit, but now the big
picture of this one the Kraken getting a strong start
and trying to keep it going. At three to zero
to two, it's their best start through five games in
Team Histery coming off a four to three oot win
over Toronto, and they perhaps ruffled some feathers of the
(01:32):
Mainple League based on physical play. But we're a scene
maybe of what this team is all about right now.
Speaker 4 (01:37):
Yeah, what we're seeing from this team is this team
can play in one goal games. A ninety five percent
of their games now have been one goal games. And
the other night in Toronto, Seattle getting it going first
with the Shane Raight goal was really important to get
that first goal of the game. He gets that, but
Toronto bought battle back every single time, tying the game
up and it took all the way to overtime for
Seattle to pull it out.
Speaker 3 (01:57):
Last dive in Moore for the Krack in here. They've
had some he's banged up, recently injured or unavailable Compo Conco,
Riiker Evans, Freddie Gudreau, Jared McCann recently added to that
list day to day, will not play the night. Brandon
on tour right now out on personally for a family matter.
Billy o'dovinen called up on Sunday, So the next man
up mentality is right now getting it done. Vin Stun's
(02:19):
got five points in five games. He had guys work
with point per game, like Chandler Stevenson, Shane Wright, Jayden
Schwartz and more. But now all eyes focus on that
next man up. Burtlee Capton set to make his NHL debut.
Speaker 4 (02:31):
Yeah, And I love what they've done too, is they've
slotted them into that left wing spot on the Matty
Veniers and Jordan Eberdy line. That's who we played with
in preseason. He looked good with that line. He looked comfortable.
When you're coming in to your first NHL game, you
want to try and maximize that comfort as much as possible.
He'll get that opportunity tonight. But as far as adversity goes,
a six game road trip seems like enough adversity to
(02:52):
kick the season off. But you're right, these guys that
are unavailable, that's added to the adversity of this trip.
I think it brings the team together, especially when you're
winning Berkeley.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
Catton a megastar at a WHL spoke and looking to
make that NEPs leap. Beginning here this sevening with with
the Kraken and Oprah certainly is the beginning of the
Berkeley Caton era. Diving into Philadelphia touching on them. They're
two to two and one to begin the season under
new head coach Rick Tockett, back in a place he
once called home as a player. They are a team
right now rebuilding replacing last year's run with Tackett from
(03:22):
John Tortorella and Brad Shaw, but he pleasure to bring
in high pace to their game. Ford checking in a
pretty straightforward system. He's a long time fan favorite now
making his home here. In their last win last game
two one in overtime over Minnesota, Noah Kad's game winning
goal his line arguably the best year for the Flyers
to start this season.
Speaker 4 (03:40):
Yeah, overtime win for them was important. Obviously, They're looking
to put two in a row here. Tonight. But you
know they they've come into this game a little bit
I wouldn't say angry, but they're certainly aware of the
last two teams times that the Kracking came to town
and what they how they played last year, Cracking coming
back in that second period.
Speaker 5 (03:58):
With multiple goals.
Speaker 4 (03:59):
They're going to play a very tight defensive game here tonight.
They don't give up a lot of shots. They also
don't get a lot of shots. So a bit of
a low event game I would expect for them.
Speaker 3 (04:08):
So an unbeaten team in regulation for the Kraken set
to debut Berkeley Canton all alongside the Seattle Mariners set
to play in Game seven of the American League Championship
Series as Seahawks. Also, I'm playing Monday night. No shortage

and the Kraken went to overtime against the Mapleliefs when
an unlikely hero emerged.
Speaker 8 (08:39):
Mahurah right to left farside.

Speaker 13 (08:49):
Goal as a Seattle krackn when's.
Speaker 5 (08:52):
It and overtime four three in Toronto.
Speaker 4 (08:57):
Well, and I'll start it back at the end the
crack for mahur as he got that puck behind the
net came out with a great feed, deamping up the
side of the boards. He got it back to him
and got a breakaway out of it, goes bound that
right side. Beat Stolars Cracking four to three overtime win.
Bring on the funal cakes.
Speaker 11 (09:17):
Yeah, sal Koniski, bring on those funnel cakes. Marhura magic
it was and the Kracking defenseman shows a perfect time
for his first goal as a member of the Seattle
Crack and with a win in overtime, they continue their
excellent start to the season. Still have yet to be
beaten in regulations. Shane Wright has been a huge part
of that, heating up lately four points in his last
(09:38):
three games. After not registering a shot on goal in
the first three games of the season, he has eleven
in his last two games alone. Chandler Stevenson also has
been excellent in his last two games, with two goals
and two assists in that span, playing heavy minutes on
the Seattle forward line. Looking like it will be Joey
Decord for a second straight game tonight, looking to continue
(09:58):
his solid start to the season against the Flyers today.
And let's look ahead at today's matchup, the first of
two versus Philadelphia this season for the Seattle Crack and
they went two and o versus Philly last season four
three and one against the Flyers all time. Let's take
a look at our cracking storylines today. Can Seattle continue
their best start in franchise history tonight and remain unbeaten
(10:19):
in regulation for a sixth time sixth game to start
the season. Eight points in the first five games is
a franchise best to start the season. You could not
have drawn up a better start to the Lane Lambert
era in terms of results. What you could draw up
better is the injury list. We will go over the
names in just a second, but the newest update is
that Jared McCann is nursing a lower body injury and
will not play tonight. The silver lining of that, though,
(10:42):
twenty twenty four first round pick Berkeley Catton will draw
into the lineup tonight for his NHL regular season debut.
And with that, let's hear more from the debutante Berkeley
Catton as he talks about his feelings ahead of his
first regular season NHL game tonight.
Speaker 14 (10:57):
Lots of excitement, lots of emotions, for sure, but you know,
at the end of da it's just hockey game. You
gotta go out there and you know, do my thing
and you know, just play my game.
Speaker 11 (11:05):
Looking like he will be skating on the top line
with Mattiveneer's and Jordan Everley, he talked about what it's
like playing with those guys.
Speaker 14 (11:12):
Playing with those guys is pretty awesome, and like you said,
we've played in uh uh, you know, the preseason together
a little bit. It's a little bit of chemistry there,
and you know, just gotta just gotta go play and
playing with two great players, two veteran guys, so they'll
they'll be talking to me a lots and making it
easier on me for sure.
Speaker 11 (11:27):
With Jordan every specifically, he talked about what it will
be like skating in the NHL on his debut with
someone he grew up idolizing as a kid.
Speaker 14 (11:36):
He would have told me that a couple of years ago.
I would have probably told you, you're crazy. But you know,
really cool getting play play alongside one of your one
of your role models and idols. So I'm just gonna
soak it all in a night.
Speaker 11 (11:45):
I think it should be fun to watch on his debut. Now,
let's take a look at that injury report. And it
is a doozy. As mentioned before, Jared mccannon is out
tonight with a lower body injury and is considered day today.
Capol Coco, Riker Everens, and Frederick Gadroler all on IR.
Brandon Montour is placed on the non roster list and
is on a temporary leave of absence due to attend
(12:06):
a family member. But there is one positive tonight. After
taking a puck to the head last game, defenseman Ryan
Lindgren will draw into the lineup tonight. So one good
injury update for the Seattle Crack and much more to
come on the pregame show served up by Corp's Light
and coming up next, we'll take a look at the flyers.

Time now for a look at the Philadelphia Flyers. As
Philly indoors a rather slow start to their season under
new head coach Rick Talkeett. They needed a big win
in ot on Saturday against Minnesota and we're able to
(14:50):
get it done.
Speaker 10 (14:51):
Trisdale hit twelble getting away from Rossie but fin the
way dead now poster up the middle HiT's the Minnesota

Kates walked in choots each clo.
Speaker 18 (15:01):
The overtime winner for Noah Cakes his second goal of
the year, and the players being the Wild and All team.
Speaker 5 (15:09):
Two to one.
Speaker 11 (15:11):
That's the voice of Tim Saunders on the call as
Philadelphia would win in overtime against the Minnesota Wild tude
one thanks to Noah Kates for their second victory of
this season. Goals have been hard to come by for
the Flyers in the early portion of the season. They
sat at twenty six in the league with two point
six goals per game. The biggest question is how they're
going to get talented youngster Matt Vei Mitchkoff to develop
(15:31):
into the aircraft gear they need him to be. But
it's also been a question of goaltending for Philly as
they're looking for either Dan Vadar or Samuel Aerson to
step up and take the starting job. With that, let's
hear more from Philadelphia head coach Rick Tockett as he
talks about what his team needs to do to start
creating more offense.
Speaker 19 (15:48):
You know, there's a lot of stuff that we can correct.
We're getting the one thing. We're getting a lot of
good motion. I like our de emotion. We're getting some
good lucks. Now the execution part, I think we're not
actually in Plus, I'm not sure we're getting the interior enough.
I mean, it's to me as clear as day on
the video. A lot of guys are coming up high.
We're having four high a lot. We need some guys
(16:09):
that dedicate getting inside. And I think if you're a
guy that's struggling, you know, look at yourself, get inside
a little bit more, and you know, we got to
the'se gott to start shooting the puck a little bit more.
I think we're there. They held on the pucke a
little looking for other options other than sometimes you got
to pound the puck. So we got to get some
more shots on that. But I do like that. There's
some parts of the thing I do like the motion
and stuff like that.
Speaker 11 (16:29):
Hopefully Seattle can lock it down defensively with all the
injuries that have piled up and keep Philly from breaking
out Tonight at Exfinity Mobile Arena, Cracking nemesis Dan Vladar
will be in goal tonight, coming off his fifteen safe
effort in the win against Minnesota on Saturday night. He
has a nine to three to eight save percentage in
three games in the young season, so he has played well.
(16:50):
Hopefully Seattle can crack the code on Dan Vladar tonight.
Coming up next, we head back to Philadelphia as Mike
and now have your keys to the game. You're listening
to the Global Readit Union crack An Audio Network.

If you're listening to Seattle Crack and Hockey on the
Kraken Audio Network, buck drop getting closer here from ex
Finite Mobile Arena the Seattle Cracking taken on the Philadelphia Flyers.
Your pregame show is served up by Frost Fruit Corps
Light Choose Chill, Mike Benton Alkiniski with you back upstairs
high at top rings side for matchup one of two. Well,
this being game four of the six game road trip
(19:24):
to Kraken, odds a great start so far in the
Lay Lambert era and if you were to ask anybody
would you take three to zero to two after five games?
The answer would be a resounding yes. So can they
keep that good thing going? Tonight Berkeley Canton NHL debut,
gonna get top line duty with Mattie Benier's and Jordan
Everley is a crack and aiming for their six win
in nine tries livetime against Philadelphia. ALCANISKI to talk more
(19:48):
about that with our three keys at what you got Well.
Speaker 4 (19:50):
First of all, I think that the Kracking have to
capitalize in the power play tonight. Seattle has one of
the stronger power plays at the start of the season
right now in about twenty eight point six percent, while
Philadelphi is struggling battling in that department at six point
seven percent. If the Kracking can draw penalties and execute
with quality chances, it gives them a clear edge. Secondly,
limit the Flyers transition and jump starts. Philadelphia has shown flashes,
(20:14):
but their offense is inconsistent, scoring about two point six
goals per game. And then see above, their power play
is a glaring weakness. Seattle must control the pace, win
key battles in the neutral zone and avoid giving the
Flyers odd man rushes or second chance opportunities. And then, third,
strong goaltending and defensive rebound presence. Seattle's goals against has
been among the better marks about two point six goals
(20:36):
against per game, and their goaltending has been solid so far.
Philadelphia will try to grind and compete hard here at home,
So the kracker will need their expected netminor joy decord
to hold firm and tight moments and their d man
to clear rebounds and make timely blocks. I see this
game being fairly tight, possibly going into the later stages.
But if Seattle can capitalize on their power play, limit
(20:58):
the Flyers transitions and jump starts, and get some strong
defense and defensive rebound management, it sets them up for
an excellent shot to win on the road here tonight
in Philadelphia.
Speaker 3 (21:07):
Yeah, a great chance here to try to win potentially
a low event and game and what could be a
tough place to play on the road heading on Easter
here to Philadelphia. But a part of this al I
also believe we've talked a lot about how can the
krack and manage back to backs that can drive the
narrative here for this season. Now we're going to get
that first big test coming their way, their first of
back to backs here tonight at Washington tomorrow. And as
(21:29):
far as how the Kracken want to play last season
zero to twelve in the second game of back to backs,
it wasn't pretty.
Speaker 5 (21:35):
Is now in the rear view mirror.
Speaker 3 (21:36):
So for this team now in this day and age,
it's a good test for their own structured defensively.
Speaker 4 (21:40):
Yeah, and I agree, And I think that the thing
about back to backs is it takes the entire team.
It takes the entire team to focus on that structure,
to trust that structure to get you through the sixteen minutes,
not just here tonight, but tomorrow as well. And I
think the other thing is that with some of the
adversity the team's had right now, it creates opportunity, opportunity
for Berkeley Catton coming into the lineup, opportunity for a
(22:03):
guy like John and Newman to play some power play tonight.
So I think those opportunities, if seized, can result in
a win.
Speaker 3 (22:08):
Berkeley Catton is going to be a major storyline here
for this evening once again in case you're just joining us,
He will make his NHL debut along awaited one of
Swords here for tonight. His parents are also in the
house from Saskatchewan. And did they ever have a journey
involving planes, trains and automobiles Saskatchewan to Calgary to Atlanta
(22:29):
now up to here. They made it by the afternoon.
I have no idea, how but extra energy for Berkeley
Catton having family in the house here for tonight.
Speaker 4 (22:37):
Yeah, Chris and Desire Katten are here in the house.
We saw about the hotel before we left, and big
smiles on their faces. I can only imagine how they
feel as parents being here in the building, seeing their
son do the rookie lap at the start of the
warm up and then seeing them play here tonight.
Speaker 3 (22:51):
It'll be Joey to cord once again and making his
fit start in six games two begin the year. Can
the crack and keep the interior clean for him like
in the Toronto game, and they're gonna face Dan Ladar,
as Anders pointed out, he has been a menace and
a handful for this team in franchise's history, a goalie
with size and for the Kraken. Can they find a
way to keep the physicality in front of him where
(23:12):
they can make wife ruff for a guy who's got
a six to one on one record all the time
against the Kracking.
Speaker 4 (23:16):
Well, it was a big part of the win. The
other night in Toronto. You saw Jaden Schwartz go harder
the net and not knockover stolars. You saw Mason Marchman
go hard to the net. They're gonna have to do
that against Fladar, who, as you said, you know, has
had the Krakens number in the past six one and
one against the Krack, and someone else who has had
the Krakens number more so with the Ducks previously. But
Trevor ziegras six goals against the Crack and hasn't scored
(23:38):
more than that against anybody else. So there are some
guys on the other side of the ice here that
are coming into this game with some confidence that's gonna
be up to the Crack and to knock that down.
Speaker 3 (23:45):
You know, there's one guy we know in broadcast terms
always goes hard to the net. You know who that is,
Ander's Hers. He's waiting for you. Back on the other side.
Here your Frostburg pregame show served up by Frostburg cors Light.

Audio Network, cracking and flyers coming up. But first let's
hear more from Cracking head coach Lane Lambert standing by
here with Mike Benn.
Speaker 3 (26:31):
Back here with crackenhead coach Lane Lambert. The Cracking getting
set with the Philadelphia Flyers in their first of two
matchups here for the season. And so far through five games,
what have you seen from this team as far as
their commitment and the application here to the principles that
you want to see physically and also Bentley as well.
Speaker 13 (26:46):
Yeah, I think they've done a great job up until
this point for sure. You know, there's certain categories defensively
in the league that you know, we're either at the
top of or near the top of the commitment levels
been outstanding, you know, commitment to play a certain way,
commitment to you know, sacrifice block shots, whatever it might be.
(27:08):
So they've done a really good job so far. And again,
like you said, it's five games in, we've got a
long way to go. But certainly give the guys credit.
Speaker 3 (27:16):
Toronto has no slats and even with no much marter,
they still have plenty of weapons and Austin Matthews, William
Niland or John Tavares so to be able to handle
that kind of a challenge. What did it say about
how those guys were able to fare physically for a
game like that.
Speaker 13 (27:29):
Yeah, well, you know, I mean, clearly, we feel like
as a group, we feel confident in our structure. You know,
I've said it's not always going to be perfect, but
certainly you know when it isn't, We've had some big
efforts and big individual efforts to you know, eat some
(27:50):
bucks and do whatever, and you know, and and our
goaltending has been pretty good. So you know, it's it's
it's a game where you you go into the game.
As long as you play the way you want to play,
you give yourself a chance to win.
Speaker 11 (28:02):
Where do you give.
Speaker 3 (28:03):
These guys the most credit for being able to handle
the stretch that they're going through with next man up
mentality bodies and bodies app is still finding a way
to be effective shift after shift.
Speaker 13 (28:13):
Well that's the way we have to be. You know,
we've had a rash of injuries and training camp for
starters and now we're under the same same gamut here
as we start the regular season with you know, five
regulars out right now. But you know, it is what
it is. It's a it's a next man up mentality,
and everybody within the organization. You know, starting day one
(28:36):
of training camp has been on the same page and
is understanding what it is we need to do. So
you know, there's no surprises in terms of how we
want to play. And uh, you know, guys have come
in and done a good job of of, you know,
maintaining that so far.
Speaker 3 (28:52):
That next man app will be Berkeley Catton making his
NHL debut here for this evening. And you mentioned before
a big key for play is to play loose, enjoy
the moment. But how do you balance the info They
are trying to feed a guy but not making sure
that he's on overload to get ready here for a
game like this.
Speaker 13 (29:08):
Ah, you know what I mean. At the end of
the day, it's up to him to balance that. You know,
we have expectations, we have a standard that we play with.
Everybody's you know, has to play by that standard. The
more you understand that standard and those expectations, the better
off you're going to be. So he's doing a good
job of you know, working, working, in practice, getting himself prepared.
(29:31):
I think it's been fantastic that he has in practice
been a penalty killer because it gives him a little
bitter at understanding of the defensive side of the game
as well. We know he can create, We want him
to create, and I'm looking forward to seeing.
Speaker 3 (29:43):
Him play based in the Philadelphia Flyers. Finally here a
team that can certainly skate. How much more is this
a legs game versus say, a brain's going to be
able to handle what they bring.
Speaker 13 (29:52):
It's both, It's definitely both. Yeah, no, but it'll be
a fast game. We feel like we're a fast team,
so you know we're looking for to it all right, Lane,
thank you very much, Thank you.
Speaker 11 (30:02):
