Speaker 3 (00:23):
On Wednesday night, as a Seattle Kracking snapped a six.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
Game slide down two to one in the final.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
Seconds of regulation and on their six power play of
the night, not even Ears tied the game with the
extra attacker twenty six seconds to go in regulation, sending
the game new overtime.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
In the extra session, the power play struck.
Speaker 3 (00:42):
Again when Vince Dunn recorded his third point of the
night to send Seattle to a three to two victory. Tonight,
with the Kraken Dads and Mentors in tow, Seattle looks
for a second consecutive victory in Utah against a Mammoth
team that sits just one point ahead of them in the.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
Western Conference standings.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
Good evening, Ladies and gentlemen, welcome inside of Delta Center
here in Salt Lakes into Utah.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
Alongside al Kiniski. Hi, I'm ever fits you.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
This is Seattle Kraging Hockey on the Global Credit Union
Kragging Audio Network. You are listening the pregame show served
up by Frostbrew cors Light Two's Chill Seattle snapping an
zero five and one stretch on Wednesday, Partner three for
seven on the power play.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
Some players that had been stuck and some.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
Scoring slumps over the last handful of games got going,
namely Vince Done, Matty Veneers, Ellie Tolbenen Chandler Stevenson as well.
All in all, it was a really good slumpbuster for Seattle.
Speaker 4 (01:36):
Yeah, Seale had a lot of good offense going that game.
They also had a lot of good defense. So Joey
de Cord grabbing the second star of the game, stopping
twenty three of twenty five shots, he was a key
element to that win.
Speaker 3 (01:47):
Power play three for seven the crack and now we're
five for fifteen on the power play in their last
four games. We've talked so much about special teams in
the last two weeks.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
But I asked you this the other night. Have we
seen the changing of the guard?
Speaker 3 (02:01):
Is this power play struggles? Have they gone behind the
Craken here, No, I.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
Don't think so.
Speaker 4 (02:05):
I think that they've put together a good four game
stretch as of late, third down one Jared mccamber tonight,
and they're gonna have to fill that gap with somebody.
Mays to be seen who that's gonna be. But I'll
tell you who's been a star on the power play.
It's it's Ellie Tolvenan. He's got eight power play points,
three goals, five assists, same number of penalty minutes he has,
so he's a key element to the success in the
(02:26):
power play.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
We did find out this morning Jared McCann, after coming
back from injury, is back on the shelf. Three weeks
down from McCann with a lower body injury. Ellie Tolbanan
slides up to the ryal left side of that top line.
Freddie Gadreau will take tolbanen spot on the right side
of line two, and then Ben Myers comes in from
Coachhamba Valley on the other.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
Side of the red line. This is a Utah menoth
team three games slide.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
Two, seven and zero in their last nine games, and
they also are without one of their big pieces in
Logan Cooley, who was out indefinitely with the lower body injury.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
Yeah, Keypeacetot right now, you've got to keep an eye
on him when he's on the ice.
Speaker 3 (03:03):

Come on down and join us if you're around the
area here looking forward to having you out as a
cracking coming in right now. Twelve ten and six point
total at thirty entering today three points out of the
cut line in the Western Conference and putting their five
(06:57):
five and three record on the road up against Utah
at fourteen, fifteen and three. This game, the magnitude increasing
because these two teams one point upart Utah, one point
ahead of the Kraken. They're also fifth right now in
the Central Division, ending their three game homestand this evening,
and as Everett now mentioned, tonight wraps up the annual
(07:19):
Dash trip here for the krakenside as they're hosting family
and mentors of each Kraken player. They were in the
house for Wednesday's win against the King, so the Kracking
looking for a clean sweep of this week with dads
and family and so here for this game. So tonight
it is all about doing for the Kraken what they
do best, even without some of their best. Because another
(07:43):
injury blow officially announced this morning, Jereed mccannal three weeks
left the game third period and the win over the
Kings in overtime when he was tangled up with Anton Forstburg.
Lower body injury is the official word, so he's back
on the shelf now, joining Jaden Schwartz, Berkeley Catton and
goaltender Matt Murray. Offensively, that's thirteen goals and twenty three
(08:03):
points out combined in between Schwartz and the Cans, so
that force in the crack and right now to dig
deep with who they have. Also with lineup changes in
tow last game, though they got it in other places
besides McCann, who scored in period one, and they face
the Kings a team is tinji is ever Defensively, McCann
of course, leaving the game with thirty nine seconds left,
(08:25):
Anton Forstberg given a tripping penalty and the Cracking down
to one, pulling joy to Cord. Knowing that they still
had a chance. They got it game tied to two
on a Matty Evanier's power play goal and then right
here and overtime Adrian Kent they earning a slashing penalty
and the red hot Cracking power play was looking to
burn the Kings one last time.
Speaker 9 (08:47):
Everly, it's a tobe and across done stove fence gets
it done over time free two saddle well.
Speaker 4 (09:04):
A great setup by Jordan Eberley who feeds the puck
over to total the total new weeks for Fids time
to get a position.
Speaker 1 (09:10):
For a one timer in the high slot, slides it
over to him. It's a bomb track and win three
to two.
Speaker 10 (09:17):
Bring on the five kicks.
Speaker 8 (09:20):
You bet I'll win as sweet as it gets here
for this year as the Cracking one three to twot
it was their fifth comeback win in the third period
time for most in the NHL, and the Cracking getting
goals from Jared mccamb, Matty Beniers and Vince Done and
Done also coming up with a three point game to
give the Crack and power play a new season high
for goals in a game, and also the team killing
(09:41):
a stretch of zero five and one in their past
six games, getting their first win since November twenty second
against the Pittsburgh Penguins. So you could say also that
matters are turning around right now. The penalty kill, which
had at one point giving up seven goals and nine chances,
are now seven of their last eight. As far as
kills the power play at one point one of sixteen,
(10:02):
they're now four for their last ten and shot volume
that's also on the upswing the Kracking getting their first
rate game, getting the upper hand in shot attempts and
in that game was forty eight to thirty nine for
the Kracking over the Kings at five on five. Here's
Ben's done after the game, who said the power play
and special teams really overall, I've under got a bit
of a transformation.
Speaker 11 (10:23):
I love our attack right now. I think we're just
throwing everything at the net. It's it's disappointing when it
gets blocked. But I think that maybe changes the way
that they'll see us in front of them and makes
them not feel so good. When they know we're not
just gonna pass it around and look for the highlight
reel seams and things like that. So the guys did
(10:44):
a great job, you see. Uh, you know it was
kind of a chaotic first power play goal and then
Maddie's goal there. It's not much to it. It's throwing
the puck where guys are going to the net and
you know eventually it's going to go in for us,
and same thing at the very end. It's start anything
specially drawing up. It's just taking the shot that's there
and you know, hoping good things happen.
Speaker 8 (11:07):
So the Crack and trying to string that together here
in their first of three meetings against Utah, second ever
trip also into Salt Lake City, which did not go
well last time the Krack and losing seven to one
last year back in April eighth. The home team has
won all three meetings so far, and they have unloaded offensively,
scoring sixteen combined goals in three games that for either
(11:27):
home team and the Crack and trying to buck that
trend here with Jared McCann out ty Krtsha looking like
he's back in He's sat Wednesday due to illness also
Josh Mhura looking like he's back in Ryker Evans will
take a seat. Your cracking story lines first up, begin
with offense from defense and with Jayden Schwartz and Jeed
McCann out well, look at Vince Done and Brandon montor
(11:48):
Do here the crack and right now fifth ranked among
all NHL teams for goals by defenseman. Montor's got six,
tied for eighth among the entire league in defenseman scoring.
Vincedent got five, so together that puts up eleven goals
and that alone twenty percent of the entire goal production
in the lineup here for this evening, So driving offense
(12:09):
here for the back end could be very useful. Second
storyline Captain Jordan Eberley continuing to roll his scoring streak.
He's got points in four straight games and a goal
or an assist matches a five point run that he
had back last March. And finally, our third storyline, Philip
Grubauer Atnette Joey Decord got the win against the Kings,
but Grewbauer in this matchup makes sense. Career against Utah
(12:33):
two and zero, two games nine two seven say percentage
and looking for his first win since the game at
Pittsburgh gone November twenty second, let's hear more on the
dance trip side. Ryan Lindgren's father, Bob, has done this
here for a while, not just for Ryan, but also
for Ryan's brother Charlie, now in his fourth year as
a goalie with the Washington Capital, and Bob said he
(12:55):
loves taking in how Ryan gets to work with others around.
Speaker 12 (12:59):
Him, prep work that not only the players go through,
but you know from setting up the equipment and the
sticks and just all that that goes through. It it's
a big production.
Speaker 8 (13:11):
Bob noticed some competitive fire with Ryan which began at
the very young age, and also with the board game
you might have played as well. And here's how he
recalls Ryan as a.
Speaker 12 (13:21):
Kid determined, didn't like to lose. You know, even a
simple board game. Go always go back to the game
sorry where you know if he lost that, he'd be
storming upstairs crying. So you know he's been a very
(13:43):
determined boy.
Speaker 8 (13:45):
Well, Dad's or until here the crack and trying to
rally off of that up against Utah. And we'll take
a look at the mammoth coming up after this. You're
listening to the Global Credit Union crack an audio network.

Speaker 15 (16:05):
Mammothat had a bad loss six to three against Dan
Jose the other week, and they had a spirited practice
the next day with lots of one way conversations from
Andre Turney to the group and what happened the next game, Well,
they came out and they won seven nothing against an
Anaheim Duck team that at the time was the second
(16:25):
best team in the in the Pacific Division.
Speaker 8 (16:29):
That's the voice of Utah radio play by play man
Mike Fulta speaking on the Mammoth and they come in
after losing three in a row, previously for two to
the Kings back on Wednesday. And more of that conversation
up on the iHeartRadio app by searching for the Kraken
Audio Network Kraken and Mammoth coming in twenty one minutes.
And time to ask what are the odds? That's brought
to you by the Evergreen Council on Problem Gambling in
(16:51):
your Odds courtesy bet MGM. The line with Utah at
minus one seventy five and the over under is six.
Mike Betting with you back at Tom's watch Bar, and
time now for a look at Utah, who seemed to
be contending for top three in the West and then
hit the skids. They began the year winning eight of ten,
second best start in the league through October twenty six
(17:11):
and since then a league wor six thirteen and three.
Big reason the Power play last in the NHL in
that span five of their last fifty three, and they're
dealing here with losses. Starting at the top with Logan
Cooley and a leg injury suffered last week, he's out indefinitely.
The leader with fourteen goals on the season, Alex Kerfoot
(17:32):
on IR abdominal injury, but Oi Maada on IR late November.
He's back in tonight after suffering an upper body ailman
keeping him out for eight games. At the top as
well for scoring, Clayton Keller their leader twenty eight points.
They got five players with ten goals or more already.
That's Cooley with fourteen, JJ Pitturka with twelve, Dylan Gunther,
(17:54):
Nick Smaltz with eleven, and Clayton Keller with ten. Utah
story lines first top begin with their top blind Clayton Keller,
Nick Smaltz and JJ Peterka. They've been together for over
a weekend. They've been effective since then. Sixteen points combined.
Can the crack and keep them in control? Secondly is
Correl vamelca in net last season played in twenty one
(18:14):
of the final twenty two games of the year. This
year a bit of a regression eight nine to five
savey percentage, worst of his career so far, and against
the Crack in three to five and nine games going
back to the Arizona days eight nine four save percentage. Hey,
Cracking fans, listen all game long for your chance to
win tickets to an upcoming cracking game. Pay attention to
Everett fitzuse play of the game during play by play,
(18:37):
and then when I call for the play of the
game during postgame call two oh six two eight six
nine five nine five Again two oh six two eight
six nine five nine five. If your caller number seven
with the right play of the game, you score a
pair of tickets to an upcoming cracking game. So don't
miss your shot. Listen, call and win. After this ever written.

Speaker 3 (21:12):
Al Kiniski Ride Shotgun Crack and looking for their second
consecutive win following a three two victory and home Wednesday
against the La King, snapping an er five and one streak,
Crack and trying to avenge a seven to one loss
here in this building back on the eighth of April.
The dads and the mentors are here, partner. How can
the Kraken send everyone home happy?
Speaker 4 (21:34):
Well, I have that's paid off well in the La
King game, and the first one is win the board battles.
The Kracker need to treat every loose puck along the
wall like it's the last slice of pizza on an
eighteen hour bus trip on that East coast swing. Utah
loves to grind along the board, so Seattle has to hit, dig,
and pry those pucks free with a little extra attitude.
Win the walls and you win the flow of the game. Secondly,
(21:56):
silence this crowd early. It's Friday night here in Utah,
and these found fans get loud, especially when the Mammoths
stumble in anything resembling momentum. The cracking can shut that
down fast with an early goal, a big hit, or both,
preferably at the same time. Once the noise dies down,
the mammoth will follow suit. And then third, test the correl.
(22:16):
Test Correll from Valmelka Vamelica early, and often Utah's expected starter.
Vemelica can get hot, but he's also known to get
rattled faster than a mammoth at a hair dryer convention.
Speaker 1 (22:27):
Pepper him from everywhere.
Speaker 4 (22:28):
And the rush from the point off a teammates advisor
if necessary, necessary volume creates tracks and cracks trade goals.
Speaker 1 (22:36):
If the Kracker can win the.
Speaker 4 (22:37):
Walls, mute this Utah crowd, and fire pucks like your
stick is possessed by a caffe needed squirrel, the mammoth
won't have a clue how to respond. Utah's Delta Center
is a tough building to plan, but take away their
noise and they look a lot less. They look a
lot less prehistoric Seattle just needs to stay mean, stay sharp,
and keep their goalie ducking for cover. Do all that
(22:58):
and the mammoth might win. Wish for another ice age.
Speaker 1 (23:02):
You know what I'm picturing. It's adorable, A very poofy mammoth.
That's that's been blow drying. Adorable image. You know these two,
This is a very interesting matchup.
Speaker 3 (23:13):
Al You've got two teams that I think would tell
you were probably going for them in the wrong direction.
Speaker 1 (23:18):
Kracking are coming off a six game slide.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
Utah's lost three in a row and seven of their
last nine overall.
Speaker 1 (23:25):
Special teams for the Cracking is improving.
Speaker 3 (23:28):
For the Utah Mammoth, they're kind of stagnant their last
couple of games, ten for ten on the PK rather
three for thirteen on the power play their last five.
But this is gonna be a game where Seattle is
gonna have to fin a way to match that offensive intensity.
There's a lot of star power on the Utah side
of the ice.
Speaker 1 (23:46):
Yeah, I don't think you could read much into that
three game losing streak.
Speaker 4 (23:49):
Topy the Utah's broadcaster, Mike He was saying that, you know,
they've been in each of these losses, They've been close,
and they feel like they deserved more in them. So
they're not coming in in the end of this game
without any confidence.
Speaker 1 (24:00):
They're coming into it.
Speaker 4 (24:01):
Just let the Cracking into with that LA game looking
for a little bit more from each player.
Speaker 3 (24:05):
And you know, I love my schedules. I'm a big
schedule nerd, and I a stat popped out to me today.
The Seattle Cracking this year are one, six, and four
when there is one game one day in between games two,
four and two on two days rest. Only seven more
times this year, not including the Christmas break or the
the Olympic break, well, the Crack can have two days
(24:27):
off in between games. This schedule is no joking right now,
the Cracking in the midst of eleven games and twenty days,
they're gonna fight through the injury bug. There's some sickness
going on around. That also makes this game a lot
tougher two.
Speaker 4 (24:39):
Yeah, it absolutely does. You know, sickness can be just
as detrimental as injuries because you get that sickness bug
and it's hard to get it out of the locker room.
You do everything you can, but these guys are in
close proximity, so hopefully that's a limited thing here and
it's not gonna have too much of an impact on
the team.
Speaker 1 (24:54):
You know who's not sick, but who is sick?
Speaker 9 (24:57):
Sick?
Speaker 15 (24:58):
Sick?
Speaker 3 (24:59):
Mike Beton I betting back at Tom's Washbar in Seattle.
Speaker 1 (25:02):
He's standing by. He's got more for you, of course.
Speaker 3 (25:05):
I pregame show rolls on the Global Credit Union crack
An Audio Network.

bar Less Past had seconds first station id on the
Global Credit Union crack An Audio Network first match up
of the season, coming up with the Kraken and the
Utah Mammoth. Right now, let's go back to Utah with
head coach Lane Lambert standing by with ever fits you.
Speaker 1 (27:38):
Thanks Mike Lane.
Speaker 3 (27:39):
It was a three to two win for your guys
the other night against the La Kings. You snapped the
slide that you were on the power play, getting three
for seven on their opportunities.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
All in all, pretty good night for Seattle.
Speaker 3 (27:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 21 (27:50):
We Uh, I just thought we played well and I
you know, I've been saying and I've been saying that
for the most part, we've been playing well. And then
they went ahead with you know, five minutes left or
whatever it was, and and you know, it was really
a huge thing that we tied it up, you know,
with our goalie pulled and we're able to get the
(28:12):
victory because our guys have been working hard and I
just feel like they deserved a you know, a break
and a better fate than maybe what we've been getting.
Speaker 3 (28:25):
And so it was good to see going into that
time out of the third period.
Speaker 1 (28:28):
What was that message to your group?
Speaker 21 (28:31):
Yeah, well, you know, I mean, at the end of
the day, you can't dwell on the past. You just
got to focus on what's next.
Speaker 7 (28:40):
You know.
Speaker 21 (28:40):
After we gave up that peak Hagel, we still had
another two minute kill, and I thought our guys did
an outstanding job of doing that. You talk about timing
and timely kills, you know, if they score back to
back three one games over. Yeah, so we had some
we had some solid efforts when we needed them, from
both the power play and the penalty kill.
Speaker 1 (28:59):
You've got a power play.
Speaker 3 (28:59):
Go now in three of your last five games, do
you think that this power play has turned that proverbial
corner from what you've been seeing the last halfle.
Speaker 21 (29:07):
Well, look at you know, I keep saying you're going
to go through little peaks and valleys, and you know,
with twelve shots on goal against Edmonton, everybody thought the
power play, oh was you know, in trouble. But you
got to look at the you know, you got to
look at the volume and the shot volume and what
(29:28):
was happening, and you know at some point we were
going to break out of it.
Speaker 18 (29:31):
And we did.
Speaker 8 (29:32):
We just had that coach Lane Lambert and more to
that conversation right now up via the crack and Audio
Network on the iHeartRadio apps. Stay tuned your lineup start
coming up next, you're listening to the Global Credit Union
