never trailed and grinded their way to a three to
two win over Edmonton. Tonight, Seattle continues its five game
homestamp against the Montreal Canadians, seeking to avenge a five
four overtime loss two weeks ago.

grind for every inch of ice, and you could see

or nine game season, Seattle got.

been one heck of a committee.

especially in your own building the match lines, because there

Jordan Everley as goals in back to back games. He
scored two against Edmonton in the last Krack and win
over the Oilers this last Saturday, which was pretty much
a statement making game. He's now tied with Jaden Schwartz

our third story line is Everley's line may in Benier's

for him defensively, but he was fantastic against Edmonton and

three year playoff drought. And about this year, it's about
taking that culture and setting it in place. Off to
a hot start right now seven and three and that's
tops in the Atlantic Division, and all this with no
Caiden Gooley or Patrick Lane as well. Their offense eight
best in the NHL, three point six goals a game.
Nick Suzuki, Cole Kafield, a couple names that Everett now

mentioned earlier. Sazuki right now top ten in point production.
He's got thirteen points in ten games and Coffield right
behind him ten points in nine games. He's tight for
fourth in the NHL, by the way, with seven goals.
About that young core, it includes Jerislavkovski, Ivan demadob Oliver Kapaden,
who's got some offense in a good two way play,

and a young defenseman who's maybe coming of age right
now in Lane Hudson the last year won the Calder
Trophy in Net. No stranger here to this core as
far as their potential, that's Yakup Dobsh starting this evening

four to three win Vancouver and they're in for a
three to one road trip where on this trip they

have scored eleven goals combined, and the Kraken trying to

First off again with Nick Suzuki, who was on a
tear riding a nine game point streak. He's got thirteen
points in that spin and against the Kraken, owning nine
points in nine games. He's been tough to handle and
he's our top line center with Cole Koffield and your

Isslavkovsky on the wings second story line that special teams
and Montreal recently a little bit hot and cold on
the power play and penalty kills spectrum. Their power play
on the road ninth right now in the NHL has
six for twenty two, but the penalty kill they've allowed
three goals last eight chances, and also before they had

days ago, and the Kraken last time out back of
Bell's Center. There are one for four in the power
play and a perfect two for two on the penalty kill.

First of all, they're gonna have to jump on them early.
The halves have been slow starters lately. You gotta hit
them early and hit them often. A fast cracking start
start puts Montreal on their heels and gets climate pitched,
rocking right from the puck drop.

Secondly, own the corners.

Montreal's smaller forwards don't love the grind win Those board
battles cycle hard and wear down their d with pressured shifts.
The more time spending their zone, the less you spend
chiefing Suzuki and golf. And then third, keep feeding the
death Seattle's biggest weapon is balanced. If the fourth line's
buzzing and the blue lines jumping in, the habs won't
know where the next wave's coming from. Every shift should

feel like deja vu in a bad way for Montreal.

for the Oilers, Nujan Hopkins, Leon Drysidel got points. McDavid
was held without a shot attempt in that game, let
alone a points.

Talk to lay Lamber this morning about the game in Montreal,
he said that there were a few too many opportunities
for their skilled players. This is gonna have to be
one of those games where you lean on the lean
on Montreal for a period period and a half. They
might get frustrated early in this game and allow you
a chance in.

I mean, maybe Vince Dunn could put another stiff arm
into Kolkaffielder sticks Azuki read at the start of the game.
But that certainly sends a tone early on. But the
way you grind with teams is you don't give them
odd man rushes, especially early in the game. You're clogging
up the neutral zone. You're making it hard for them
to enter the ozone and when they do, they got
to go through physical pressure to get there.

That's how you grind down a team.

As Mike Benton pointed out, only four odd man rushes
against all year against Seattle none in that Edmondson Whaler
game five on five. We talked a lot in the
last few games about to play the fourth line, but

was happy with our team in terms of our readiness.
There's always the question mark coming off of the long
road trip. What you know, what does the first game
look like? Back to me, that's just an excuse. I

thought our guys did a really good job of getting
rid of that excuse. Uh And you know, I mean,
as the game went along, they're they're obviously a talented
team Edmonton. I felt like we gave up a few
too many chances for my liking. But at the same time,
you know, we knew we would probably need a pretty
good game from our goaltender, and we got one, and

we had a lot of commitment in certain areas and
I thought, you know, when they had their push on,
I thought we defended well. There was you know, a
couple of pockets in the third period where we spent
a decent amount of time in our zone, but they
were they were to the outside. And there's going to

be moments like that with every team during the season
where you're maybe hemmed in or under siege in your zone,
and the question is how do you handle that? And
you know, what kind of chances would you give up?
So I thought we did a pretty good job of that,
and really at the end of the day, we really
capitalized on our opportunities, you know. So it was it

was a hard fought game, hard fought win.

Speaking of playing in your defensive zone, you were asked
this morning about the number of chances giving up on
the outside, limiting the opportunities in the slot in the house.

You know, as long as you're on the outside, those
long range shots, if we spend a few extra minutes

following their first two regulation losses of the season. Two
very different efforts, but the same result, a grinding three
to two win for Seattle Saturday.

The game against Edmonton was a grinding win and there
were no spots in the game where there was a lull.
You had to be on every ship, You had to
grind for every inch of ice, and you could see
that very different than the game in Winnipeg, where it
was more just head to head, toe to toe battles
were there were close going both ways. There there was
ice given, ice taket.

But to that Edmonton game.

Was tight, and for the seventh time in this ninth
or nine game season, Seattle got.

On board first with a huge goal by Jordan Neverley.

And speaking of Jordan Everley ties to the team lead
and goals in points for the Seattle Crack and four
and four with eight total and listen for the Kraken,
they are the leading team in the NHL with at

score sheet. We knew coming into this year it was
going to be scoring by committee, and so far it's
been one heck of a committee.

Well what's interesting about that status? You might look at
the stat sheets to wait a second, John Hayden does
not have many points next to his name. Who is
that twenty first person? It's one Joey Decord who hasn't
just says next to his name. Now, it's great to
see that depth out there. You know, when you've got
scoring by committee, it makes it hard for opposing teams,
especially in your own building the match lines, because there

isn't just one line that gets it done.

And we saw that with the fourth line the internet.

in a five three to one all time record and
split the head to head series with Montreal, and also
improved to a four and oh start to begin this
regular season schedule at home, all as part of a
matchup here that brings on some history. It goes back

to become the first US team to win the Stanley Cup.
As part of the Kraken, right now, they're trending north,
and of course this being homestand game number two of five,
they'll have the Rangers, Chicago and San Jose after this,

shot attempts at five on five fourth lowest in the league.
So can the krack and spend more time out of
their own zone? That's a big question in those numbers,

Jordan Everley as goals in back to back games. He
scored two against Edmonton in the last Krack and win
over the Oilers this last Saturday, which was pretty much
a statement making game. He's now tied with Jaden Schwartz

on right wing with Matty Beniers and Bertlee Catton. And
our third story line is Everley's line may in Benier's

and the matchup here for this evening may be TBD
for him defensively, but he was fantastic against Edmonton and
handling Connor McDavid Vaneer's helping keep that line or McDavid
in particular scoreless. McDavid was zero points, minus one and
two of twelve as well in the faceoff circle, and
through nine games so far, Veneers was six points, that

marking the second best start of his career offensively and
the closest to that seven points first nine games win.
He won the Calder Trophy back in twenty twenty two
to twenty three, so Veneer's his impact this evening could
play a major role here for the Kracking fortunes. Let's

ten day road trip. But right now it's only just

one game in a span of six days, and Ryan
Lindgren said, it's a great chance here to catch up

Talk to lay Lamber this morning about the game in Montreal,
he said that there were a few too many opportunities
for their skilled players. This is gonna have to be
one of those games where you lean on the lean
on Montreal for a period period and a half. They
might get frustrated early in this game and allow you
a chance in.

I mean, maybe Vince Dunn could put another stiff arm
into Kolkaffielder sticks Azuki read at the start of the game.
But that certainly sends a tone early on. But the
way you grind with teams is you don't give them
odd man rushes, especially early in the game. You're clogging
up the neutral zone. You're making it hard for them
to enter the ozone and when they do, they got
to go through physical pressure to get there.

That's how you grind down a team.

As Mike Benton pointed out, only four odd man rushes
against all year against Seattle none in that Edmondson Whaler

There's always the question mark coming off of the long
road trip. What you know, what does the first game
look like? Back to me, that's just an excuse. I

thought our guys did a really good job of getting
rid of that excuse. Uh And you know, I mean,
as the game went along, they're they're obviously a talented
team Edmonton. I felt like we gave up a few
too many chances for my liking. But at the same time,
you know, we knew we would probably need a pretty
good game from our goaltender, and we got one, and

we had a lot of commitment in certain areas and
I thought, you know, when they had their push on,
I thought we defended well. There was you know, a
couple of pockets in the third period where we spent
a decent amount of time in our zone, but they
were they were to the outside. And there's going to

be moments like that with every team during the season
where you're maybe hemmed in or under siege in your zone,
and the question is how do you handle that? And
you know, what kind of chances would you give up?
So I thought we did a pretty good job of that,
and really at the end of the day, we really
capitalized on our opportunities, you know. So it was it

was a hard fought game, hard fought win.

Speaking of playing in your defensive zone, you were asked
this morning about the number of chances giving up on
the outside, limiting the opportunities in the slot in the house.
Are you I don't want to say okay, but I'm

You know, as long as you're on the outside, those
long range shots, if we spend a few extra minutes
in our d zone as long as we're keeping them
of the outside or is that an area that you

out of our zone obviously, you know. So that's you know,
that's a focus for us, and and you know, certainly
an area that we need to get better in. But uh,
