Yes past flowing off the Seattle Crackett.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Welcome to Seattle Kraken Hockey, brought to you by Coors Life,
by your Western Washington, Toyota Delers, by Beacon Plumbing Virginia, Mason,
Franciscan Hell, by Muckleshoot Casino Resort Liuo, and by Symmetro.
Seattle Kraken Hockey is an exclusive presentation of the Emerald
Queen Casino Kraken Audio Network.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
The Seattle Kraken We're looking.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
To push their win streak to four games on Tuesday
against Colorado, and after a pair of hit posts and
numerous other near misses in the first period.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
Seattle seemployees to do just that.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
However, despite those copious amounts of chances, the Kraken found
themselves down three to one after forty Riker Evans netted
his second goal of the season with three seconds left
in regulation to bring the final score to three to two,
snapping that win streak.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Tonight, the Crackett welcome in.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
The league's last undefeated team in the Winnipeg Jets, looking
for a repeat of last Saturday night when they took
down the then undefeated Calgary Flames. Good evening ladies and gentlemen,
welcome inside of Climate Pledgerina alongside Alconiski.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
Ii'me ever fits you. This is Seattle Cracking Hockey on the.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Emeral Quin Casino Craket Audio Network. You're listening to the
pregame show served up by Frost Brewed Corus Light. Choose
chill al for Seattle, Yanni Gord ten seconds into the
hockey game, fumble the puck.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
Wide open net on the back door.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
Seattle hit two posts in those first in that first
period as well. They had so many chances to get
out in front of Colorado early and they couldn't capitalize
on them.

Speaker 4 (01:39):
Yeah, Seattle outshooting Colorado twelve to five in that first
period and really owning the first twenty minutes of the
hockey game. But when you're not able to get that
first goal, when you get great chances, you start thinking,
I hope we don't have to look back at those
chances later in the game and say what if?

Speaker 3 (01:55):
And I think we saw a little bit of that
as the game continued. For the Kracking they got those chances.
But as we've seen with the Colorado Avalanche, who came
into that game.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Losers of their first four games. Then they went on
a two game win.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
Streak, so they were a little bit hot, starting to
get back on the right side of things for them,
out shooting Seattle twenty three to fifteen in the final
two periods, so they found their mojo seventeen to six
in that second period.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
That's when they did most of their damage.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
Yeah, absolutely, there was that dip in the second period
by the Crack and that ultimately hurt them. They had
a strong push in the third period, Rekor Evans getting
his second of the season, which was good to see.
And obviously another milestone was Jerreed McCann get him his
one hundreds as a Cracker.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Then Dan Miles.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
But talking about the full sixty minute, full team effort there,
hopefully they can replicate and do that here tonight. On
the other side of the red line, the hottest, the
high flyingest team.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
In the NHL in the Winnipeg Jets.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
They have a team record six oh and oh start
to begin this season, twenty seven goals scored, their most
ever in franchise history through their first six games, and
they've been able to do it while being behind the
eight ball. Four of their six wins have been come
from behind victories for Winnipeg.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
Yeah, you know, these aren't games necessarily where they're blowing
their team out, but it starts in net obviously, with
Connor Helliduck stopping pucks for them, keeping the game within reach.
They're loaded with talent on the top two lines and
even the back on the blue line as well, so
there isn't necessarily a line matching situation you can do
against this Winnipeg team, and I think both teams are
prepared just to roll four lines regardless.

Speaker 5 (03:32):
Of Hoop going out against.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
I'm excited for the goaltending matchup here tonight. It's gonna
be Connor Hellibuck against Joey Decord. Both goaltenders are perfect
on the young season, so something we'll have to get
here this evening. I am so excited to toss it
down the cors Light silver seats here in Climbate Pledge Arena.

Came here from the super Chill cors Light Silver seats

Speaker 8 (07:26):
It is gonna be a fun one. The Cracking record.

Speaker 10 (07:28):
Four and three eight points, three points back by the
way of first in the Pacific. Winnipeg last unbeaten team
in the NHL at six and zero twelve points right
now top record in the league entering today. Your oz
by BETMGM the line with the Jets at minus one
twenty five and the over under miss five and a half.

Speaker 8 (07:45):
Let's talk lead up to this one.

Speaker 10 (07:47):
The Kraken two nights ago got a pretty good test
in Colorado.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
Shane Wright fanning on a Jared mccatt off ring. Now
mcat gets it.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
Bat Jared McCann all alone in front, he finds a
loose puck and.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
Steps a backhand pass added in.

Speaker 3 (08:07):
We've got eight oh three to play in the second,
we're tied.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
What on, Well, it was.

Speaker 4 (08:12):
Great work by McCann in the corner, going after loose
puck's playing the body.

Speaker 5 (08:17):
He got that puck out the furn of that. Then
he went to the furn of that.

Speaker 8 (08:21):
So that was a highlight of it. On the cracking side.

Speaker 10 (08:23):
They fell three to two to the Avalanche, first meeting
of the season. The goal you heard, Jared McCann won
one hundredth career goal in a crack in Jersey, first
in Cracking history to hit that benchmark. Won one tie
at that point, but the Avalanche began to pull away
late in period two Yoel Kibi Ronta's second goal of
the night, helped out by Nathan McKinnon with a power
play goal Ryker Evans getting on the board, but the

(08:45):
game was already academic spoiling. Unfortunately a season high twenty
five saved eper by Philip Brubauer, and that means the
Crack and have to find other ways to dial up
the offense. Heading into this game and the night, you
could say it's going to be a collision. The Cracking
op to a good start as they are now facing
a team moves yet to lose a game, and the

(09:05):
Crack and inning for a three and one start here
on this homestand right now heading into game four of five.
Next matchup, by the way, against Winnipeg won't be until
the sixteenth of January. Next time back in scale here
for these two teams not until March sixteenth. As last season,
Winnipeg by the way one two of three in the
series a Wednesday had some line shuffling and based on

(09:26):
that look we could see some reuniting. Can it feels
so good Manny Beniers will go back into the middle.
It looks like you're a Jared mccannon Jordan Everley as
his wingers. Meanwhile, Yanni Gordon back with two familiar line
mates a ton of time together previously, and Ellie Tolbinen
and Oliver b Jorkstrand Elsewhere, You're gonna get a look
at Jaydon Schwarz, Chandler Stevenson and Brandon Tanne left to right,

(09:47):
with Ty Cartier, Shane Wright and Andre Borakowski. So the
Kraken with just two goals each in their last two games,
looking for answers here and wasting no time in that
search story lines. First off, that newly formed line of McCann,
Beniers and Jordan Everly mccange leading score nine points. He's
got points in four st rate games. Every leads the

(10:09):
kracking right now with five goals and Veneers looking for
his first goal the season, but also doing well with
the face off circle fifty one.

Speaker 8 (10:16):
Percent, and we'll see if that can help out too.

Speaker 10 (10:18):
Hot wingers keep their streaks going while getting a new
centerman into the scory mix. Secondly, Joey de cor gonna
get the start in net he was terrific last time out,
twenty one saves on twenty two shots and then ot
win against Calgary and against the Jets not two bad
in two games one and one last season nine to
two to two save percentage and finally the Jets on

(10:38):
a roll. Can the Cracking hand another team their first loss?
Of course, the Kracking became the first team to hand
Calgary a loss of any kind this season last Saturday.
So guess who's coming in the league's most second potent
offense and four and a half goals per game, top
power play, it has certainly answered the bell time once again.
Let's hear more from the Kraken Random Montor leads this

(11:01):
team and shifts per game of twenty five along with
twenty four minutes per game on ice. No doubt we're
going to make a big impact once again this evening.
Now the Crack can get there. He said, there's a
hint and what they worked on in practice Wednesday.

Speaker 5 (11:14):
I think it's just Temple.

Speaker 11 (11:16):
We're fast teams, so we want to play fast, executing
our drills, and you know, last game is a little
bit where guys might might have been a little fatigue
and making some you know, execution plays that probably we
could have, you know, be a little better at, but
speed and execution I think are good in practice that
kind of fall up there in the game.

Speaker 10 (11:35):
Before that practice, Vaneers was seen working on his skating
with assistant coach Jessica Campbell, and Vaneers said, she's already
making a big impact.

Speaker 12 (11:43):
Yeah, she's great. She she really knows her stuff. Obviously
off ice with video and stuff, I've worked with her
in that sense, and then adding, you know, obviously skating.
That was kind of the first time I'd done stuff
like that with her in terms of skating stuff, and
you know, it's this game is all about getting better

(12:03):
as much as you can every single day, and you
know that's what I'm trying to do. And she's obviously
providing every single opportunity for the guys here to do that. So, yeah,
it's been great.

Speaker 10 (15:31):
Yet, matter of fact, last remaining team perfect in the
NHL at six to zero. Last year fifty two win team,
the Great rig Bonus retired behind the bench. Scott Arneil
took over from associate coach to head coach, and so
far they haven't skipped to beat. Mark Scheifley co leader
on the Jets eight points, five goals in six games.
Nikolai Eeler's off to the best art of his career

(15:52):
eight points in six games. Their power play, also number
one in the NHL and also one of the best
goaltenders in the game. He'll start tonight, and Connor Hellabuck
entering today the league leader in wins.

Speaker 8 (16:03):
He's a five and zero by the way, nine.

Speaker 10 (16:05):
Four, eight say percentage already he's got a shut out.
Your storyline's on the Jets. First off, their top power play.
It's potent and it's got depth, number one in the league.
They are eight of eighteen so far, eight players have
scored a goal. By the way, on this power play,
Mark stiffly leads them for power play points and secondly,
slowing down Kyle Connor.

Speaker 8 (16:26):
He's been tough in this series.

Speaker 10 (16:27):
Seven goals against the Crack and in nine games, most
of anyone here on the Jets. He comes into a
four game goal scoring streak, six game points streak as well.

Speaker 8 (16:37):
Let's hear more.

Speaker 10 (16:37):
From Winnipeg and judge Katain Adam Lowry as family ties
here his father Dave, of course a part of the
Crack and coaching staff, where dinner was on the menu
last night for family, but after that a lot of
the focus moved to this evening where the Jets have
to be ready for life in the fast lane.

Speaker 5 (16:53):
They have a lot of speed.

Speaker 16 (16:54):
I think that's one thing when you play them, you
have to be ready for They're fast, they four checked,
They the book quickly, and you know they have guys
that like to get to the net and you know,
quick plays off the cycle. So it's it's important that
your sharp defensively, your reads are good and you kind
of deny the slaughters and then they get the various
that you know some of their shooters like to go.

Speaker 10 (17:16):
We'll come back shortly and after this way back upstairs

Back inside of Climate Pledge Arena, the Seattle Crack and
getting set for their first of three meetings on the
year between them and the Winnipeg Jets. Game four of
five of this home stand Cracking will wrap up on
Saturday against Carolina before they hit the road on Tuesday
against Montreal on Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Boston and Colorado on

(19:54):
that five gamer that begins on Tuesday. But Alconiski, first
things first, Crack and at their three game winning street
snapped against Colorado on Tuesday.

Speaker 1 (20:03):
Want to get this home stand started off three and one.

Speaker 3 (20:06):
You've got a pretty good goalie matchup here tonight. What
of the Cracket need to do to hand the winnip
Head Jets their first loss of the season.

Speaker 4 (20:14):
Well, there'll be a lot of goaltending NetFront focusing these
keys first one net front pressure.

Speaker 5 (20:20):
Both goals scored.

Speaker 4 (20:20):
By Saint Louis the other night when the Jets visited
them visited them were a result of guys that got
to the front of the net. In fact, Brandon sod
had two just that way. Get in front of Winnipeg's
goaltender Connor Hellibucks get in front of his eyes forc
him to look around you as he seeks out the puck.
If enough guys are willing to pay the price to
get to the front of the net and stay there,
they might find some quality deflections and rebounds.

Speaker 5 (20:43):
Secondly, take what they give you.

Speaker 4 (20:46):
Tuesday start had the crack and hitting two posts in
the first ten minutes of the game. Not capitalizing on
these opportunities kept the game zero zero for most of
the first period, ultimately giving Colorado a chance to grab
that one nothing lead late in the peer. And then third,
a statement game for Joey d Dan bausman Is coaching
staff are waiting for one of their two goaltenders to

(21:07):
have a statement win. Tonight. Joey to Cord will get
a chance to have that kind of game. You're facing
an unbeaten Winnipeg team with the best power play in
the league.

Speaker 5 (21:16):
How about that test.

Speaker 4 (21:18):
A statement win will likely lead to repeat starts, and
that's one of the things this team needs right now.
It's time to get a new winning streak going to
close out this home stretch. Get to the further of
the net, take what they give you, and support your
goaltenders so he could have a statement game.

Speaker 1 (21:34):
Here and avoid the sweats as this.

Speaker 5 (21:36):
Team goes out and takes down.

Speaker 3 (21:38):
These Jets, and listen, they give you the second time
and under a week that they beats. And previously undefeated
team Calagery came into Seattle undefeated, Kracken put their.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
First loss on the board.

Speaker 3 (21:50):
Also here tonight, Winnipeg undefeated Seattle can do the same thing.
But I want to go back to your first point,
a giving taking what they give you.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
I think that's huge.

Speaker 3 (22:00):
Jonny Gord scores that goal ten seconds in, you hit
one of those two posts in period one. You're now
up to nothing against an Avalanche team that has had
a very uncharacteristic start.

Speaker 1 (22:13):
You really put them behind the eight ball. You deflate them.

Speaker 3 (22:17):
But a team like Colorado, who you know are gonna
be there, you let them hang around.

Speaker 1 (22:21):
The longer you let them hang around, the more dangerous
they are.

Speaker 3 (22:24):
And the Winnipeg Jets are the exact same way, especially
this season.

Speaker 4 (22:27):
Absolutely, And I think I mentioned this in the broadcast
on Tuesday, which is when you're facing the team that's
had some struggles, getting that goal early gets into your head.

Speaker 5 (22:35):
Here we go again.

Speaker 4 (22:37):
And if you don't do that, if you don't get
that goal early, and their confidence continues to build. Now
they're looking up and down the bench going, guys, we're
in this yep. And they were, and that's what gave
them a sniff of that confidence and ultimately got them going.

Speaker 1 (22:48):
You know, you mentioned a statement game for Joey Decord.

Speaker 3 (22:51):
You and I are not in the business of speculation,
maybe a little bit of pontification, But a game like this,
Joey Decord goes out wins this game convincingly, or he
loses a one goal game while making forty plus saves.

Speaker 1 (23:06):
Right, do you go back with him on Saturday?

Speaker 3 (23:08):
Is this the opportunity for him to establish himself as
the one A.

Speaker 4 (23:13):
I think if it's a win where he's let in
two goals or lefts yep. I think if it's a
win where he puts up a shutout, gonna be tough.

Speaker 5 (23:20):
Against this team.

Speaker 4 (23:21):
But I think even if it's a close, low scoring game,
he's likely.

Speaker 5 (23:24):
Your starter on Saturday, regardless of the outcome.

Speaker 3 (23:27):
It's a lot to be decided here to I also
the power play. We talked to Dan Bisma about that
this morning. They've made some strides in recent games trying
to get back on the right side of things. But
they need to stay out of the box and that
goes into taking what they give you. If they put
you on the PK or on the power play rather,
you have to score.

Speaker 1 (23:47):
On those chances.

Speaker 5 (23:47):
Yeah, you absolutely do.

Speaker 4 (23:48):
And again the power play is about three specific things.
It's getting zone entry. You could probably include the breakout
with that, but zone entry, it's about getting passing lanes
set up. But even if if you get both of
those things done, you're not guaranteed to score goals.

Speaker 5 (24:04):
You have to get the puck to the front of
the net.

Speaker 4 (24:06):
You have to battle for rebounds, you have to knock
some guys down.

Speaker 5 (24:09):
It's still a war out there, and you've got to
win that war.

Speaker 3 (24:12):
You know who's always battling and knocking guys down and
getting to the front of the net.

Speaker 1 (24:16):
Mike Penton way down in the course night silver seats,
go high five him, open to high fives all night long.
