Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, welcome to episode nineteen A sip in Tequila SUSA.
Here Jenna, Mama, what's up? So just yesterday we got
the full lineup of Coachella twenty twenty five.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
And we go, we have the money, so yeah, for
really please got it? Manifesting.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
So Jenna was kind of freaking out the fact that
I came out so early this year.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
It drops like mid January.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
Do we think that was because of post Malone announcing
his big at Stadium tour. He had Indio in there
to kick off his tour, and so people are immediately like, okay,
post Malona is headlining Coachella, and then all these speculations
started happening. It started leaking like who the headliners were.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
So maybe Coachella was like, we have to drop it
right well, and what's weird is that a couple of days,
maybe like the day before post Malone dropped his thing,
Coachella posted on their story just like a picture of
like a palm tree, just like oh yeah, I did
see that, and they're not active until time to post.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
No, they deleted everything from the previous year.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
Yeah, so people on TikTok, like literally Monday night were.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
Like that's weird.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
That suspicious, Like why did Coachella post a palm Tree?
And then I just thought like they were getting people
ready whatever, and like there had been like some leaks, right,
but I never expected them to drop it this early,
like as far as as long as I can remember
tracking Coachella drops like this is the earliest step.
Speaker 2 (01:22):
Well, but I always thought like tickets went on sale
before the lineup was even dropped. Yeah, is there was
there pre sale of LA I don't even know.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
I don't I thought there already was, but I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
But yeah, so maybe they was part of the plan
all along to announce it this early, I guess.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
Well, And it was crazy because I was literally reposting
something about Travis Scott like being the first announced headliner
whatever because he poked and I was like, oh, the.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Lineup, that's embarrassing. The lineup. But yeah, like it just
happened so fast.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
But I kind of feel like maybe they did have
the influence of like everyone speculating, plus post Malone dropped
his so like they felt the pressure. Yet they did
they really did, so headlining Lady Gaga Green Days literally
post Malone and then Travis Scott is like the special guest. Yeah,
Missy Elliott. Night one, Benson Boone. Let's see who else
(02:17):
is on here?
Speaker 1 (02:20):
Okay, Mustard is on here and I was signed Jen
I was like, I feel like kay Dot has to
pop out with Muster just because that's what Coachella is
known for, all the yeah, all the surprise, Like that's
why you go to Coachella because you really don't know
who you're gonna see.
Speaker 3 (02:35):
Oh yeah, So Mustard's biggest song.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
Is not like us Lamar just.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
Be It wouldn't be cool if Kendrick Lamar to not
show him love and show up and perform that song.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
Just that song, No I saw a song I mean
is huge but.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
Well, and like you said, Coachella is literally all about
the surprise guests, like that's like half the fun. Glorilla
is also there. Day one, let's see Charlie x e X.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
Oh yeah, oh my.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
God, Anita is their day to T.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
Pain T pain, Oh my god. I love seeing him.
I saw him with pit poll amazing, good, amazing.
Speaker 3 (03:14):
I need that energy. Yeah. Day three mainly Stallion Like
you said, Boozy, Oh.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
I love sign He's a line man. Money long oh
money long. Yeah, she got some bops. She got some
bops okay, little wrapping.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
Yeah, I mean there's obviously more, but those are like
in there.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
That's good.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
I heard the E. D M portion. People are pretty
happy with bro three sticks off. He is on here.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
I love it.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
Yeah, Oh fuck, I don't see. I have to like
get really close to the camera screen because if they're so.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
Small you can't zoom in. Not this one. This one
was a blurry one. Yeah, I don't see on here.
Oh damn, that's okay. Maybe just making a may you
never know we're gonna creator heads be there, No, but
I would have doubted there's gonna be so many celebrities.
(04:30):
Everyone's gonna pop up and they do like the.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
Do Lab, which is like a little separate stages. I
remember when I went just to we were popped up
and performed somewhere. Yeah, and I was like to and
I missed it.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
Sames also missed opportunity for Coachella. I think Sabrina Carpenter,
Oh absolutely, chapone this year. What was that she was
there this year?
Speaker 2 (04:53):
Was she Yeah? But she wasn't a headliner. She wasn't
a headliner.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
So big tour literally like the past year that since
last Coachella that she wasn't even a headliner last year.
She was on at like five pm.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
Which is insane.
Speaker 3 (05:08):
And then and that's where she like debuted espresso. L yeah,
that's why everyone was wearing the Jesus carpenter. She was
still on like feather nonsense, and then she dropped espresso
like literally like that day. And I remember because it
was New Music Friday.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
And Chperone sheperon would have been a good guy that.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
You reminded me of that, And I like am really surprised.
I know she's like kind of I feel like taking
a break, but I'm like that would have been insane
at Coachella, like her a cl crowd was unreal, unreal.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
Hm hmmm.
Speaker 3 (05:40):
Who else can she please go? I know, Lady Gaga
bringing out someone like the way that would be insane.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
I feel like Lady Gaga so iconic. I mean, her
super Bowl performance is my favorite by far, like jumping
into the stadium. I can only imagine what she has
planned for Coachella. Yeah, it's gonna go crazy.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
I did see Lady Gaga Coachella when she was when
she took over for Beyonce, when Beyonce feeled out because
she got pregnant. Lady Gaga filled in for her, so
we saw her there. I literally looked up that performance
last night, so I was like iconic, but I was
so heartbroken because I was ready to see Beyonce.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
That was. It was like I was in my fields
about it. It was a little.
Speaker 2 (06:22):
Salty, but it was still dope.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
Yeah. Wait, so it was Babechella like the next year.
Then yeah, then she was there the next year and
that was like a whole that was like Beyonce Coachella.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
Yeah, that's all.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
That's all it was. No, that's literally what I still
watch that. I still watch that whole performance really on
YouTube and just like we live it.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
Yeah amazing.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
They did like a whole Netflix thing on it.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
Just production. Yeah, it was insane the way they worked
those cameras. I know, it was insane.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
I know the videographer of me is like, I want
to do that one day. But yeah, Lady Gaga, the
little Monsteramy is gonna come out. Oh yeah, I'm gonna
literally act up and be what's the best Lady Gotta
song for you? Since you're a little monster. Well, I
was telling you that telephone the music video to literally
changed my life like her and Beyonce changed my life
(07:13):
in the moment that I love just dance, I love
I like all the old stuff. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
Same.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
But then I'm like, but maybe she could do a
little Why am I drawing a blank?
Speaker 2 (07:23):
Died with a smile? Died with a smile. But the
movie stars borne Yeah, yeah, you know when she's like,
you're right, the movie never Never, I didn't want to
cry because okay, no, don't get me wrong. I love Gaga,
(07:46):
I love Space, Bradley Cooper, I love them both. I
thought they did amazing. But I mean, it's we've seen
that story plenty of times. That's what I kept hearing.
So I was like, yeah, I'll watch it again. Yeah, no, yeah,
it's a good movie. So if you watch it like it's,
you're gonna enjoy it.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
I mean, speaking of movies, are we watching Wicked in
theaters this weekend?
Speaker 2 (08:11):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (08:11):
When are you guys going? I don't know about that.
I think it's gonna be like more of like a
next week thing. Okay, I would like to speaking, I know,
but like, yeah, I feel like a lot of people
go to the movie theaters for Thanksgiving. We do that
for Christmas. Oh, I love going Christmas Day or the
day after Christmas.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
Yeah, that's like.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
A tradition for some people. M it's not me, but
my ex boyfriend's family always.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Yeah, we always did that too.
Speaker 3 (08:39):
I don't know why.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
I think we just couldn't figure out what the hell
to do.
Speaker 3 (08:42):
So we're like, yeah, yeah, but I did see Gladiator too,
How was it, Daddy, Gladdy, Daddy?
Speaker 2 (08:50):
Yeah, yeah, oh my god, I'm going on day. So
they don't watch the Gladiator.
Speaker 3 (08:55):
No, you have to watch Gladiator before you go to Rome.
So that's all you're going to think when you're out there,
because it's like it's just there's so much on Rome,
like it's all about Rome period. And also Denzel Washington
Paul Mescal big. Okay, so he's pretty big now he's
he's kind of a known actor. But he's gonna be
(09:17):
like the next.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
I know.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
I want to say Brad Pitt. Would you say Timo tey?
Speaker 2 (09:25):
I mean he's he's still he's I'm.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
Talking about like older the older generation actors, like the
Brad Pitts, you know, I feel he might be like
the Brad Pitt this new generation Brad.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
I mean I could see like he is a hit.
His acting skills are like up there, top tier, top
tier for sure, really really really like him. I understand
what graycy A Rose is dating him, totally get it.
Denzel Washington was this was like a different character for
him and I appreciated it a lot. And Petro Fiscal
(09:58):
just became more of a daddy. I just he's a squeak,
he's a squash, He's a squish. And Joseph Quinn, I get,
why do cat dating him? He's just one of those
like he looks crazy and he plays a good crazy person. Yeah,
he kind of plays similar to the character and Stranger Things. Okay, Yeah,
it's just a really good cat. Eddie Eddie Eddie, Yeah,
(10:22):
Eddie with the long hair and the guitar. Yeah, but
you guys, you should definitely watch Gladiators. Yeah, the storyline
was goody good. You don't need to watch the first
one to understand the second one.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
Period. I'll watch it.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
I just want to see Gladdy Daddy's fight.
Speaker 2 (10:40):
I bet it's iconic.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
Oh we got we get a pedro ps Denzel Washington
fight and we get no sorry, I lied, We get
a paw miscout and a Pedro.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
What the hell's their names?
Speaker 3 (10:54):
Dude, they should be related.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
It messes me up ever since.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
And there's a fight between them now, daddy, and then
there's a fight between Denzel Washington and Palm Mescal.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
Laddia was breathing hard next to your hand. She kept
moving around in her seat and I was like, listen,
whoever you pick, I'm down, like.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
Oh my god. Petition to get Maria on the red
carpet so that way she can meet either Pedro Pascal.
She wouldn't know how to act.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
It's been a long time for Maria, have been in
the game in a long time.
Speaker 2 (11:48):
But she's no exactly.
Speaker 3 (11:50):
She isn't right that scorpios star freak.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
But scorpios are good though, and she like says it
loud and proud, and I'm like, but.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
Scorpio, yeah, I feel that scorpio women know they're special.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
Yea scorpio. And he's like, he's a freak too, and
he's explicit, like he will just be like gross and
will say ship that like you shouldn't be saying that's
what I'm saying. Oh my god, if I told you
what my dad says, she would Yeah, d'd be talking
about her right, don't come. Some mom comes with a
disclaimer from my dad. She's always like anything that he says,
(12:27):
we apologize in advance and just know that like it's
it's he's just joking, He's not.
Speaker 3 (12:34):
Yeah, not real.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
Scorpiels are a different breed. They really are.
Speaker 3 (12:39):
I for whatever reason, like I am like drawn to
scorpio men and I hate it.
Speaker 2 (12:44):
I'm trying to break the cura really really toxic, the worst,
the worst.
Speaker 3 (12:48):
My ex boyfriend was the scorpio.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
Yeah, that would do it.
Speaker 3 (12:52):
Then I'll do it. I don't want it. I don't
want it. Scorpios like and I can't tell you. I'm
times well I don't not that many times. But if
I'm talking to a guy and I'm like, so your birthday,
they're like November and I'm like no, no, have.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
You ended like a kind of like a situation with
someone because they're a scorpio.
Speaker 3 (13:18):
Not directly because of that, but then once it was
like a calm like it there's a lot of things.
But then I was like, it's because you're.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
A scorpion and you're also that was like the cherry
on top.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
I was like, that's and if you're acting like this now,
like we're not evening together, imagine to be literally nuts.
That's but that's valid though, that's a valid observation. Yes,
and that's where Yeah, And that's the thing. Like my grandma,
who was like my bestest friend, was a Scorpio woman
and we connected like no other Scorpio men.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
I just like, why is it always the men's side
of the spectrum. It doesn't matter what side, it doesn't matter.
I'm like, doesn't matter. It's a man that's a problem.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
No, Yeah, but I try to.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
I always say it's the unhealed men, because you know,
a healed man is it can is a good thing
for the man. That's what that's what we need more
of in the world. It's a man.
Speaker 3 (14:11):
They only need to be healed.
Speaker 2 (14:12):
An unhealed man is a boy, and it can be
a dangerous men of society, the worst, literally, Amen, the worst.
Amen to that. Watchings.
Speaker 3 (14:28):
No, it's real though, Like we could, we could have
a whole episode about men, but we won't, won't.
Speaker 2 (14:33):
That wonderful man listening? We love Yeah, we love Mary Scorpio,
especially healed men.
Speaker 3 (14:38):
Yes, hopefully healed men listen to our podcast.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
I hope so too.
Speaker 1 (14:42):
Remember we were talking about my man being in trouble
this weekend.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
Yeah, because I've been wanting, I've been thinking about this,
what could have been said?
Speaker 3 (14:57):
Yeah, there's okay.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
So, for those who don't know, the dynamic in my
household right now. So it's my husband and I. We
have two little boys and my mom. My mom moved
in to take care of our boys while we both work.
So Mom is living with me now. She still has
her house, so she travels back and forth. Sometimes she
leaves on the weekend. Sometimes she doesn't because it is
kind of a far drive. But yeah, she's there with us.
(15:20):
So I was telling Jenna this. It was a little
weird at first because it's my house, yet she's my mom.
When she first moved in, it kind of felt like
I moved moved in back home.
Speaker 3 (15:30):
You know.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
It definitely sings.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
But she has seen how peaceful and calm are houselived.
She notices that, like, I don't really fight. We're just
very transparent about everything. We're not there's no secrets, you
know what I mean. There's a lot of respect in
her household, and so she has started to change some of.
Speaker 3 (15:49):
Her ways because of her past relationships. I haven't worked
for a reason. And she even says it herself, broth
that's on and that's on growth marine.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
I love that for her.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
She'd be very passive aggressive though. She's working on that.
And they slipped this past weekend because baby decided to
sleep in and now I needed to work the West
Valley Heart Walk. Moll was there too, so I got
up early. The whole family was going. So I'm making
breakfast for the kids, I'm cleaning up, I'm getting the
(16:19):
bags ready, the diaper bags to go to this walk.
I'm getting myself ready. And the baby bottles weren't cleaned,
so my mom was washing them and baby wakes up
with like thirty minutes before we have to leave, and
he's just standing in the room like trying to wake up,
and I'm getting myself ready and my mom's like and
I told my mom was like, no, you don't have to,
like I was gonna do that, and she's like, nope,
(16:39):
You're the only one that does everything here. So and
she continues to wash the bottles and baby, and baby
just giggles. Now it's not the first time she has
thrown that comments out, because that happens a lot in
the mom and dad situation, it's like sometimes the mom
does the most because that's where our mind is always like, Okay,
what do we have to do next? So we have
to do next, and the dad's just like nice outside, right,
(17:04):
it's good weather today, to do right, And that's what.
Speaker 2 (17:08):
That's what.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
If we have any arguments, it's always like, it's common
sense and this needs to get done. And he's like,
that's not common sense for me. You need to communicate
what you need me to do. And it's annoying to
me because I'm like, it's in your face.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
What do you have to tell you?
Speaker 3 (17:23):
Like, just get it done?
Speaker 1 (17:25):
But it's not. That's not how men, that's not how
some men. Men's brains work. Men, I'm like, and so
I try to be understanding, and so I you know,
I told him, I was like, I don't like the
feeling of I'm bossing you around. And he's like, no,
I need you to tell me, And sometimes I just
don't have the energy to tell you, and I'll get
(17:45):
it done myself.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
So that's what she's like, I don't I'm gonna explain
it to you. I can just do it.
Speaker 3 (17:49):
I'll just do it. I can do it, it's fine.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
Yeah, And so my mom being my mom is protective
over me and see the amount of things that I do.
And not to say that Baby doesn't do it anything,
because he does help. But sometimes I'm just not gonna
ask it if you're not gonna do it, like I'm
gonna do it all myself, right, And she's and she's
a woman and she sees what needs to get done,
so she jumps in to help me, which I really appreciate,
but I'm always told her, don't feel obligated to do
(18:14):
the things that you know you're not. You don't have
to do this, you don't have to help me. I'm like,
you're literally here to take care of the boys. I
I don't want you cleaning. I don't want you cooking.
If you want to, that's fine, you can, but don't
feel obligated to it. And so yeah, she made that comment.
And baby is not really someone that gets mad, and
he he was pretty mad, Like he's fine, and I know,
(18:38):
I know a baby is not a hot head. So
when he's mad, it's because I really need to have
a conversation. Yeah, we need to have a conversation. So yeah,
he didn't even want to be in the same car
as her, so he really no way, and so I
didn't want to make the walk weird. So when we
went when they went to work with me, my mom
was with me in the car and we didn't talk
(18:59):
about it. But on our way back home, five minutes
before arriving, I was like, I need you to not
say that anymore in front of him, and she's like,
I know I crossed the line. She's like, and I
need to apologize. She's like, I'm just gonna apologize when
you're not there, and I was like, that's if you
want to. Don't feel like you have to because of me.
If you want to, then go ahead. And so, yeah,
(19:20):
the week was a little weird because of that. And
she still hasn't it. I don't think she's apologized, and
I don't know if she will, But I like, as
long as the conversation was was had and baby knows
that she knows she was wrong for that, we're good.
Speaker 2 (19:34):
And especially if he's hopping out, like, yeah, you know,
it's just the one time he decides to sleep in
or something. Obviously you still will pick up most of
the workload because your mom badly.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
Yeah, that's just how I see both ways, because I'm like,
there's nothing worse than like, first.
Speaker 2 (19:54):
You just woke up and Maria is already.
Speaker 3 (19:57):
Because when I wake up, like at my Grandpa's house,
it's like and I sleep in, like I come out
the back and oh, you finally decided to join it.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
I just about the bed. I tried to turn my swagon,
like my swag is.
Speaker 3 (20:13):
Like literally, so there's nothing more frustrating sometimes and being
like hit with that, even though it could be valid.
I'm not saying baby's case. I'm saying more in my
personal cases, like I wake up at eleven and they're like, oh,
I don't wake up in a good mood period, so
don't don't even speak to me. Let me wake up,
and that being like the first thing and being like, okay, yeah,
this is too much, but.
Speaker 2 (20:36):
I feel that, And my mom said to you know
what I.
Speaker 3 (20:39):
Mean, I was gonna also probably given your mom's past
in her history, she only just wants to protect you
and doesn't want you to be in and obviously that's
not the situation, but like she has her personal experiences,
you know.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
Like she's just seeing me running around, you know.
Speaker 3 (20:55):
And probably her past kind of ties into that.
Speaker 1 (20:58):
You know, Yeah, she definitely did everything and she sees that,
but she also needs to see the things he does do. Yeah,
but she's always gonna have my side. I'm her daughter, right,
you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (21:08):
Mom's gonna talk shit.
Speaker 3 (21:09):
So we joke about it because maybe it'll be like, oh,
we're gonna do this before you called out, and I'm.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
Like, hey, man, if the shoe fits right, you should
be like. I'm not a single mother.
Speaker 1 (21:23):
But I am very thankful that he is as helpful
as he as because I did experience, you know, a
household where it was just mom yesterday.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
Dad wasn't even you know what I mean. When he
was there, he didn't.
Speaker 3 (21:33):
Do nothing right and that probably is like triggering, very
triggering for Maria. So yeah, like she can't deal with that,
which is valid.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
So that was the joy I know.
Speaker 3 (21:45):
That is that's kind of I mean, now, looking back,
I hope you guys can laugh because that's kind of funny.
Speaker 2 (21:49):
But we do.
Speaker 1 (21:51):
Still jokes about it, Yeah for sure, But I mean
it's I'm very grateful that he is willing to have
his mother in law live there totally, because not any
man would be able to tolerate that, and I told him,
I'm like, I know it's not easy, but do you
want to pay for daycare day Friday?
Speaker 3 (22:09):
Right? And then I was like, let me show you
the number. And he's like, no, she's cool, she's cool.
Speaker 2 (22:13):
Right, you're saying much money, Yeah, they're so excited.
Speaker 1 (22:16):
Somebody's entire salary, Like yeah, us would be working solely
to pay for daycare.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
Well, and that's the thing about like, you know Mexicans
and like our culture is like we've always been about family.
We take care of each other, you know, we take
care of our elders, we take care of everybody in
our family. We got each other, and like, you know,
it is what it is.
Speaker 3 (22:34):
Yeah, it can't be all perfect exactly, it really can't exactly.
Speaker 2 (22:38):
And I feel safe. I feel comfortable at work knowing
that they're in good hand. Yeah, exactly, especially in today's world.
I'm scared to have a kid. I want to.
Speaker 1 (22:47):
I know daycare is the only option for a lot
of families, but in our situation, like if we had
to do that, I'd tell baby, like, listen, one of
us has to stay home because my anxiety will.
Speaker 2 (22:56):
Not home or something.
Speaker 3 (22:57):
Yeah, I like as someone because my mom worked full
time and my dad wasn't really in the picture, so
like I don't even know whenever I was like old
enough to go to preschool whatever. Like from that point on,
my grandparents pretty much raised me when my mom was working,
and like it was the best. They sign me up
for tutor time one summer to try to like break
(23:18):
me away because they're like, okay.
Speaker 2 (23:19):
Social life.
Speaker 3 (23:20):
Yeah, I went home the first day. I was like, no,
I want to be a grand one, like and now
back and I'm so thankful and I don't feel like
I missed out on anything. If only, like my relationships,
I wouldn't have it any other way now, Like it's
all turned to be the best thing ever.
Speaker 1 (23:37):
And there's a lot of shame put on on parents
that don't have their kids with other kids, you know
what I mean, because it's like, oh, they're not social butterflies,
Like they're awkward, clearly not.
Speaker 3 (23:47):
Jenna's like the most Yeah, it didn't work for me.
Speaker 2 (23:53):
That's not true. Backfired, like she won't shut up.
Speaker 3 (24:01):
I have another st on that.
Speaker 1 (24:02):
But there are studies that say that the happiest kids
come from the ones that stayed home with their grandparents
or with their.
Speaker 3 (24:09):
Will vouch for that forever because they were That was
the best care and love that I could have ever
asked for ever.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
And we have such limited time with them too. With you, yeah,
because I always think of that too. Sometimes I get
a little sad because my boys do spend most of
the time, most of the day with my mom. So
even when I come home sometimes like the little one,
the older one is very attached to me, but the
little one is very attached to my mom. Yeah, and
sometimes I'm like, love me, but I don't shout out,
(24:42):
but I'm like, I love the relationship that he has
with his grandma because he's not gonna have forever.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
You know, what are you talking about?
Speaker 3 (24:50):
You forever is immortal, thank you very much, And he
is immortal. But no, I get that, and like I
and I did, like still go do things with other kids.
But I don't feel like I miss out on anything.
If anything, I feel like I was extra blessed and
I'm so thankful that I was able to, because, like
you said, not everyone has the access to you know,
(25:10):
family members, So I feel very thankful that I was
able to. And I mean she took care of me
all the way up until last year when she passed away,
but like now you know what I mean, like there
was not a better relationship. You know, I'm all for
that and like it's just the best.
Speaker 2 (25:27):
But okay, baby, yeah.
Speaker 3 (25:30):
But what's funny is that I Yeah, guys, could you
believe like when I was a little lad, like they
were worried about me because I wasn't speaking.
Speaker 2 (25:38):
Oh oh that gives me hope. Man, No, I literally
you know we've been in speech therapy with the three
year old.
Speaker 3 (25:44):
Yeah, they were like genuinely concerned because I didn't speak.
And but my mom said that she'd always watch me
when other people were speaking, and I was just like
very like I would watch them and she was like
I feel like she's taking it in and they're just
going to say, yeah, I don't even know how old
I was, but they like literally like she doesn't speak.
And then one day I started speaking like full out,
like like just spitting it out, and they're.
Speaker 2 (26:05):
Like, what, like you've been holding back and now I
haven't shut up. Can you ask your mom how old
you were?
Speaker 3 (26:09):
Yeah, I'll literally okay, no, Like it was a thing
like they were like, speak, I have come One day
I did, and you know what, one to like one
thing that I said that they'll never let down, which
is also funny because you guys will understand. But one
of the first things that I said was I was
in the back of the car and I guess I went,
I don't know the exact melody, but I basically homed
(26:32):
like ninety nine point nine okay.
Speaker 2 (26:34):
Easy, a station shut off to Beth McDonald.
Speaker 3 (26:39):
You're idols where my obsession came from.
Speaker 2 (26:42):
So what that's crazy?
Speaker 3 (26:45):
And that and then now you work in the radio four.
Speaker 2 (26:49):
The queen is right there.
Speaker 3 (26:50):
That's why I geek you guys like it's like a
full Like our family grew up on nine nine point nine.
I thought Delilah worked in the building, so oh.
Speaker 2 (26:57):
Wow, so you're better is her? Hold on?
Speaker 1 (27:01):
You are a kid that did not speak and then
your parents caught you saying in the backseat ninety nine
point nine k easy, the jingle.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
The holiday station, which.
Speaker 1 (27:10):
It works, and jingles work, they do work. And now
you're working at iHeart in the same building as a
ninety nine point nine czy.
Speaker 3 (27:18):
Is crazy, like they're yeah, that's wild.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
Best McDonald, If you're watching this, I do.
Speaker 3 (27:25):
Love you anyways, I won't be weird.
Speaker 2 (27:28):
I'm sure to not be weird around her.
Speaker 3 (27:29):
Guys, I'm really trying.
Speaker 2 (27:31):
When I introduced you to her, you weren't weird.
Speaker 3 (27:33):
But I don't know if she knew.
Speaker 2 (27:35):
That you were an employee. I think she made that
you're fan.
Speaker 3 (27:38):
You are. I am have access to the same building
as you, so has she seen you around in the building?
Speaker 2 (27:48):
No, not a lot.
Speaker 3 (27:50):
I told you one time we rode the elevator together
and I was like, I didn't say anything. So there's
a group of us, so it'd been weird if I
was just like, hey, fair though.
Speaker 1 (27:59):
I found out that best is a little shy, and
she told me she's like, I have a lot of anxiety,
So social anxiety is a thing for her, which is
crazy that a lot of radio personality, like we're out
there and we're talking every day, but.
Speaker 3 (28:13):
A lot of us have that.
Speaker 2 (28:14):
Isn't it wild?
Speaker 3 (28:15):
It is? Do you think it's because like when we're
speaking like this, like obviously there's people listening, but you
kind of like tune it that you're like.
Speaker 2 (28:23):
Speaking to everyone, right? Is that?
Speaker 3 (28:25):
Like I do?
Speaker 2 (28:25):
I don't want to think about it.
Speaker 1 (28:26):
I'm about it now listening.
Speaker 3 (28:31):
It's just.
Speaker 2 (28:33):
Right now I'm just taking it. But yeah, that is
a wild thing.
Speaker 3 (28:36):
But I do feel like that's kind of like a
It's more common than I thought.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
Yeah, oh yeah, for sure.
Speaker 3 (28:42):
But going back to you not speaking when you were little,
I'm made up for now.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
It makes me.
Speaker 3 (28:47):
God, it makes me feel good because I stress about
the little ones.
Speaker 1 (28:49):
But honestly, I've always appreciated a kid more so an
adult that is more willing to listen than to speak.
Speaker 2 (28:57):
I think that's just like a virtue in my Most
people should have exactly listen and take everything in, like
be a sponge almost.
Speaker 3 (29:07):
Yeah, because I feel like there are a lot of
people that can't do that.
Speaker 2 (29:10):
They just have to go talk talk talk talk.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
It's like a gift if you are able to really
just kind of take it all in. My mom's always
told me you have two ears and one mouth for
a reason. Listen more talk less. Period ended up in
a job where.
Speaker 3 (29:21):
I can't talk.
Speaker 1 (29:25):
But I have noticed, like even one of my nephews,
the oldest of my sister, he always just sat with
the adults instead of going to play with the kids,
and he just sat there quietly and listened to everyone,
and then he would ask his dad so many questions
about the conversation because my brother in law was always like,
if you say with the adults, you're not you're not speaking,
(29:46):
like you sit there and you listen, and he's done
that and that can know everything about everything, the randomly shit.
I'm like, I love that, and then heating it all up. Yeah,
and he likes to do his own research like that.
It's just yeah, I love that about him. I'm like,
how the hell do you know about that? Like, definitely
no more than I do. Yeah, but I appreciate that
in someone.
Speaker 3 (30:07):
I know, well, I guess, yeah, I don't know. Now
I just haven't stopped.
Speaker 2 (30:12):
Now I don't be listening. I just be blabbing. But
you certified the apport. No literally and the like.
Speaker 3 (30:18):
Once my personality, like as I got older, my family
was like, what, like, girl, you did a full one
eighty like that.
Speaker 1 (30:25):
Was who But you still listen very attentively to everyone.
I try, and I give everyone the time.
Speaker 2 (30:31):
Everyone feels special you do.
Speaker 3 (30:33):
I do try because I'm like I the worst thing
is when you're talking to someone and you can tell
that they're not listening or they don't care, and like,
I never my goal whenever i'm speaking to someone is
to never make them feel like that, because that sucks.
Speaker 2 (30:47):
Oh that's beautiful. I need to work on that, no nobody.
I mean, I feel like in.
Speaker 3 (30:50):
My head, I'm always like shit, thirty this time, i
gotta go do this, do that?
Speaker 2 (30:54):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (30:55):
And i't really Oh, well, work is. Yeah, it works
a little different because I feel like you kind of
have to have a little bit of that or you're
like me and then you just talk to everyone all
the time. Oh no, I need to have.
Speaker 2 (31:04):
Like a little structure boundaries.
Speaker 3 (31:06):
But yeah, exactly, I need like the silence, like she
cannot talk right now? Ye letter be but like a warning.
But no, I just like I never want to make
anyone ever feel uncomfortable. But I mean, I definitely there's
people that I'm like checked out. I'm not there, yeah,
but that's like, you know, very few.
Speaker 2 (31:24):
Yeah, man, I'm checked out for the holidays. Don't talk
to me until after.
Speaker 3 (31:28):
See. I text my mom and asked her when I
started talking, but I'm.
Speaker 2 (31:33):
Has six back.
Speaker 3 (31:34):
I want it to be revealed.
Speaker 2 (31:36):
Yeah, she's a eight like last year. Okay, I think
that's it.
Speaker 3 (31:45):
Right to find out when I started speaking.
Speaker 1 (31:48):
Maybe not next week because that's Thanksgiving week, because that
was going to be a short one for us, and
I getta get my work done in three days.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
I don't know how the hell are going to do
that week. I know, I know.
Speaker 1 (31:57):
But whatever drama happens on Thanksgiving bringing back for the following, yeah.
Speaker 2 (32:01):
No, girl, I'm going to be in Mexico with all
of my family for five days. There will be drama that.
Speaker 3 (32:07):
Sounds toxic as hal I love it.
Speaker 2 (32:09):
And especially because like every time I get drunk or
how many like how many people, I mean a good
handful of us. Yeah, it's a it's a it's like
a few families. My aunt has a beach house there,
so we're like the beach. Yeah, dude, it's gonna be fun.
I just like, there's gonna be a lot of alcohol
comes som so. I hope that emotions can be managed.
(32:32):
I know, I mean holidays without a little bit nah,
but I just hope, you know.
Speaker 3 (32:39):
Yeah, I'm just gonna manifest good vibes. We have our
friends Giving this weekend.
Speaker 1 (32:44):
We're going to Usher this weekend, and then we have
Thanksgiving next week, and then we're celebrating my best friend's birthday. Sam,
I think we're gonna go to old Town Scottsdale next Saturday.
Speaker 3 (32:56):
I think it's gonna be my first time out. And
about that, wait, are you are you're going to old
town costume Saturday?
Speaker 1 (33:04):
I am literally just before this event plan The planning
literally just happened yesterday.
Speaker 2 (33:09):
I just thought out about it yesterday.
Speaker 3 (33:11):
I might be going to old Town scott please do
because I have a wedding. And then like the group
of people were like, we might get a table out
in old town after my later best friend, I'm going
to like.
Speaker 2 (33:24):
One quick drink that would be awesome.
Speaker 1 (33:27):
Is my first girls night out without kids and baby
saying with the kids, Oh that's yeah
Speaker 3 (33:35):
Yeah, I'm just gonna say Marie's like that one were
going to do with that
