the founder and owner of B WilliamsMobile Notary, to the program.

(01:41):
Bernice how are you doing today?Thank you very very very much for that
introduction. I am so well,so excited to be here, to be
chosen to be talking to you.Look at me, hey man, did
you Hey? Now? I absolutelylove your energy. I'm like, I

(02:02):
just want to be a client justlike an experience this energy in person.
After all these years, and I'msaying, you've been doing this for eighteen
years now, how do you maintainthis excitement for what you do? Because
every experience is different, every clientis different, and I believe in treating

(02:23):
everyone was the same. I wantto give them that same experience good,
better, indifferent whether they like itor not. You know, as a
notary, we meet people in theirbest and worst experiences, and giving them
that same quality is so important.I believe what is a notary for me?

(02:44):
I've always looked at a notary serviceas Okay, someone comes and you
sign documents. But I've never understoodthe intricacies of what being a notary is.
And that's a good question because that'sthat's also a very miss conception of
a nuttery. Oftentimes people look atus as just stamping a document, and

(03:06):
that is primarily what we do.But we bring one to say integrity to
the document that you're signing. Andthe reason why I say integrity is because
we're verifying that you are who yousay you are, that you actually are
signing that document. And not onlyare you signing that document, you're signing

(03:28):
it voluntarily. You're not doing itunaddress. You're understanding, you know what
you're doing and signing, and that'sour job. One of our responsibilities is
to ensure that. Wow, especiallyin a world where every other day we
are reporting on some level of fraudor a security breach with this company or

(03:53):
that company. What you are doingis actualizing, verifying, and confirming every
single thing that is on a documentsubmitted, be it a will, be
it a trust, be it atransfer of business services. You are there
to make sure that this is factual, and you are putting your legal stamp

(04:13):
on it to confirm it. Icorrectness, That is correct, You are
correct. But we are confirming thatthe individual that is signing that document is
who they say they are. Thatis what we're confirming. And I have
to say the integrity of the documentitself, because we don't create documents as
a notary, we do not createthe document itself we ensure that the document

(04:38):
that's being signed. If you're signinga power of attorney, we're ensuring that
you understand that you are giving MarthaStewart's authorization to represent you, for example,
okay, and that you are knowinglydoing that. As far as the
contents, you know what it isthat you're doing. I can't say that

(05:00):
what you put on that document. You know, if you put something on
the document that's not true, Ican't be held accountable to that, oh,
the sexuality of the document. Ican just only be held accountable to
that the individual signed it willfully, okay, okay. And that's oftentimes the
misconception for notaries. We cannot verifythe legality of the document. I always

(05:25):
thought that a lot of what youdid. I always thought that you all
review the documents and say, yes, okay, this this document is legally
binding the way it's written, Soyou don't You don't verify anything within the
document. You are just there tomake sure that the person understands what they
are signing. Ie, if theyare signing a power of attorney, you're
making sure they understand what that means. What signing power of attorneys is that

(05:48):
in the document exactly because what youdo it is if I had to verify
the content of the document, thatmeans I know your business and I don't
want to know it. Wow,I know. You know that I know,

(06:09):
and you know that sounds wild. You know, why would I say
something like that, Because it's true. I look at the document. You
know, when someone gives me adocument to be notarized, I look at
it to ensure that it's complete, meaning there's no blank spaces, because we
cannot not to risee a document thathas blank spaces. You know, there

(06:29):
has been many a times where peoplewill say, oh, I'll sell itia
next you know later, uh newnew I have. You know, if
a doctor a friend of mine sayingdad story with my name on it,
it's not happening, meaning I don'tknow the rise blank documents. If you
don't know the answer, either we'redrawing a line through it, or we're

(06:50):
seeing na or we're going to takethe time to go back to the source
of the document to find out whatneeds to go there. Because if I
do and giving someone authorization to changesomething and I can't do that. And
you provide apostle services as well astrust document services, what goes into either

(07:15):
of those, So trust document servicesI'm gonna start there. I love working
with attorneys, trust attorneys and gettingtheir clients documents in order. Oftentimes we
think, well, if I die, you know, they'll just figure it
out. Oh wrong, And sobecause of that, one of the things

(07:36):
that I've been doing is partnering witha trust attorney and we do webinars monthly
on understanding wills versus trust understanding havingyour documents in order. Why it's important
because many a time, you knowyou're in the hospital and you know you've
not given someone power of attorney tohandle your fears. You've not given some

(08:00):
one power of attorney to make medicaldecisions for you because you can't speak for
yourself. And it's not if thisdoesn't happen just because you're related to the
person. The hospitals, they needa healthcare directive. If you want someone
to handle your financial affairs, OhI go to the bank and say,
Tawala said I can do this forhim. Now, I don't think I

(08:20):
look at me like I'm crazy. But if I come in with a power
of attorney something that you've already signed, then they're going to give me optimization
to handle those things that you need. Okay, So that's the trust documents
and then for the apostle services. Many times you hear about people that are
going on abroad getting married, They'regoing to be doing business and Africa,

(08:45):
they're going to be getting dual citizenship. Well, in order to do that,
there's certain documents that are needed tobe apostled by the Secretary of State,
and I help facilitate that for theindividuals because it can be very time,
it can be very confusing, butsomeone like myself I can help facilitate
getting those documents done quickly, smoothly, and in a timely manner. Wow,

(09:11):
I did not know so much wentinto being a notary my conception of
what it was. Look being anotary is way more involved than I thought,
and I have so many more questions. So I want to hold you
over for another segment, Miss Williams. Right now I am changing with the
Bernice Williams, the owner of BWilliams Mobile Notary. We will have more

(09:37):
with B Williams Mobile Notary and BerniceWilliams in just a moment. You're listening
to Soul cal Saturday with Tawaala Sharpon Demand from KFI AM six forty Kfi

(09:58):
AM SI forty Life everywhere all theiHeartRadio app in Hawaiian Gardens, Temple City,
Norcote, and Hysperia. This isSoul cal Saturday. I'm your host
Twalla Sharp, welcoming you back toour Soul Cow Saturday, Small Business Saturday
Spotlight with Bernice Williams, the ownerof B Williams Mobile Notary, and we

(10:20):
are getting deep into what being amobile notary is. Miss Williams, bringing
you back into the conversation. Beinga mobile notary, that means you basically
take your office with you to yourclients. Correct, that is one hundred
percent correct. My car is inmy office and the tools are in my
car. What all do you dowith B Williams Mobile Notary? What services

(10:45):
do you provide? So? Iprovide many services. And what I mean
by that I will meet a clientat their home, at their office.
Let's go get a cup of coffeeand get it signed. And guess what.
I'll go to the hospital and Igo to jail. Wow. Wow.
Let me tell you why I goto jail because I can get out.

(11:09):
Yeah. You know. Oftentimes peoplesay, well why do you go
to the jail. Well, justbecause the person is incarcerated, held over,
or whatever their situation may be,it does not mean their life stops.
You know, you got picked upand for DUI and your car is
impounded. Do you want it sittingat the car lot. Your family may

(11:33):
need that vehicle, they may needthe information in the vehicle. Somebody needs
to get it. So they werecalled someone like myself. I go.
You know, they have the documentsprepared. I go and meet with the
client, get it signed, andthen I give it to the family member
so that their business can be takencare of, whether it's getting their car
out of impound, taking care ofparental child custody situations, giving someone awesome

(12:00):
station to handle the financial responsibilities. Why they're incarcerated, that's just a simple
situation, same thing as someone wasin the hospital. You know, those
documents are needed in order for theirlife to continue. And so that's one
of the things that one of thevalues that a notary can bring to a

(12:24):
client. We're more than just asigning stamp. We do we help them
continue their lives. If someone listeningright now need your services, or if
someone has just been toiling and hasno idea of what they were doing and
didn't even know they needed services suchas yours. How can they get in

(12:46):
contact with you? Well, don'tlook on the bathroom wall to see see
if you can find my name. That's kids all. You can contact me
either through my website which is BWilliams Mooble Notary dot com or my telephone

(13:11):
number is three two three six zerofour one eight one two, and if
you contact me, I'll be happyto help you with whatever the issues,
the things that you need. CanI just share something with your please?
So I mentioned before that I domonthly webinar with an attorney. We actually

(13:35):
are going to be doing one. It's a free zoom webinar that we're going
to be hosting in May on Mayfourteenth at seven point thirty pm. We're
going to be doing a webinar andwhat you would need to do is contact
my number the three two three sixzero four one eight one two and I'd

(13:56):
be happy to send you to registration. It's all you gotta do is log
on and listen to what we haveto say. I work with an attorney's
name is Federick Collins. He's withLegacy one Law and we believe in educating,
educating our listeners about trust documents, because I know what you leave in

(14:20):
here with your steff out of order, which causes problems for your family.
You know, and oftentimes we say, oh, I ain't got nothing.
Guess what you do? If nothingmore? You want to die with dignity.
You want your life to be takencare of with dignity, and in
order to do that, you needto give people permission to handle your fears.

(14:43):
And that's me, that is you, without a doubt, Miss Bernice
Williams, owner of B Williams MobileNotary Services. If you are in need
of her services on mobile notary, public apostle or trust document services, you
can reach her directly at bwilliamsmobilenoary dotcom or you can call her. What's

(15:09):
the phone number again? Three twothree six zero four one eight one two.
Whatever you do, make sure youhave your affairs in order. Miss
Williams, thank you so much forjoining us today and shedding so much light
on what it is you do andeducating us to what a notary actually is.

(15:31):
We appreciate you. Thank you verymuch. I am so excited to
be here to be asked to comeon and I I just wanted to tell
you thank you forgiving making a dreamcome truth last year one of my dreams
because I believe in getting I wantpeople to understand what it is that we

(15:52):
do. But most importantly, thething about trust documents and getting a trust
document out there is so important tome that I have been going on a
monthly quest to share this information withpeople. My dream last year was to
do a radio spot about this.So thank you you made my dream come
true. You are so so welcome. Seriously, I just I don't know

(16:19):
how to say it as it then, thank you you really did. And
I woke up this morning and itcame to me you asked for this last
year and God gave it to methrough you. So thank you. Wow.
Ain't that something? It is aExcuse me? Avid listener of KFI,
thank you for the opportunity. You'relistening to soul Cal Saturday with Ta

(16:41):
Walla Sharp on demand from KFI Amsix forty six live everywhere on the iHeart

(17:03):
Radio app and Linux, Wa,Netku, Grand Terrace and Beaumont. This
is soul Cal Saturday. I'm yourhost Twyler Sharp taking a look at these
solar eclipse going down Monday, someexcellent spots where you can check it out.
Please please, please, please, please, pretty please do not stare

(17:26):
directly at the sun. I don'tknow why we have to continue to say
that, but people will look atit, they will try. If the
skies are clear, then we willbe treated to a very nice partial eclipse
and some of the places where wecan go to see it. I don't

(17:47):
know why this list. I havethis list here and they did not do
like a bullet point on different places. There's no bullet point on this list
of like where to see the places, and it gives us a list.
There's talking about all these individuals whoyou know, say it's gonna look nice

(18:10):
and this that or the other. But I'm looking, Kayla, I'm looking
at this list as far as thesix excellent spots where you can watch the
awe inspiring partial eclipse, and Ijust don't see the bullet points of the
locations. Fortunately, super producer Kaylahas done the due diligence as I was

(18:30):
looking at her and reading this andfound the spots. What are the sixth
spots? Wow, the way youmisread my facial expressions is crazy. But
I will recommend that we go toLakhma. That's an amazing view of the
solar eclipse. That's going to bea really good time. It's nice and
clear, it's open spaces. Thereare a lot of groups thereo typically also

(18:51):
sharing their solar clips classes so youcan enjoy the experience together. Baldwin Hills
Scenic Overlook that is an amazing villyour nice and high in the air.
I don't know if anybody will havesolar clips glasses there for you, but
again I really do suggest you makingsure you have a pair on deck so
that you can not stare at thesun directly, because there are some very

(19:12):
terrible repercussions for doing that. Andthat's what we got. That's what I
got. Okay, so moving andalso U see La the plarents Okay,
yeah, you see La has agreat agree places. Don't turn on the

(19:33):
mic before you start reading the sentence, but yeah, you see La.
Check it out there. Sure, yeah, sure, it's not what it
say. No. How to keepyour pets safe booving on how to keep
your pets safe during the solar eclipse. According to experts, animals might be

(19:56):
anxious because of the solar eclipse.Certain dogs may exhibit some behaviors different than
they normally do when it starts toget dark outside, and even cats may
get a little weird. The firststep and making sure your pet is okay

(20:18):
during this solar eclipse is to decidewhether your pet even needs to come with
you for outdoor viewing of the solareclipse. You may just want to let
your your pooch stay inside, okay. Some experts apply guidelines to all pets,
especially, well not especially, butcats and birds. They're not likely

(20:45):
to be traveling away. Especially ifyou've got an indoor cat, they're not
gonna want to go outside to seeit. If you've got an outdoor cat,
they're fine. You know. Birdswhatever, If you have a bird
anyway and it's in a cage, well shame on you, because birds are
supposed to be free and they're supposedto be flying. It's just my take
on it. But dogs, now, they'll need to go outside with you
should there be any commotion or contingenciesif you're traveling. If you do decide

(21:11):
to bring your dog with you,you want to travel to a location like
you know, Kayla, said theobservator, And I think you also said,
we're at the Lack Mount and theball and overload there two and you
see la. Just make sure ifyou're bringing your pooch with you to any
of those places, just make sureyou're ready for a lot of commotion.
There's going to be a lot ofcommotion, a lot of movement, a

(21:33):
lot of things happening, so sobe you know, be ready for that.
And no, no, no,no, you do not need to
get solar clips of glasses for yourdog. If you see anyone selling solar
clips glasses for dogs, keep onwalking. They are con artists. Dogs

(21:56):
are not going to even instinctively lookat the sun. That's not what they're
gonna do. They're not gonna betrying to see the eclipse. Don't do
it. Okay, what you shoulddo is head over to Krispy Kream because
Krispy Kreme has their specialties solar eclipsedonut. I know the FOURK reporter described

(22:17):
that earlier, and oh wow, this donut seems absolutely delicious. Applebee's they
have the perfect eclipse margarita that's gonnabe going up. Burger King. They
have a buy one, get onewhopper. How that connects to the eclipse,

(22:38):
I don't know. But if youtext eclipse to two five one two
five one. You can claim abuy one get one offered to redeem one
during or after the eclipse via theapp or online. Pizza Hut they have
their total eclipse of the Hut.They are offering one large pizza for twelve

(22:59):
dollars thanks to the sun and moonshaped pattern on the menu. That's interesting
because, yeah, because if wewere able to see the entirety of the
eclipse, you would see the moonin front of the sun and the ring
around which almost looks like a pizzaif you got the pie, the middle
on the crust and the outside.Yeah, okay, that's fly. Whole
Foods markets they have in celestial inspiredsnacks, some sunset health a. Look,

(23:25):
they got a bunch of stuff overat Whole Foods. All right,
I may walk over there after Iget off the air and see what solar
eclips things that they have over there. Genny's ice cream. I don't think
that's in SoCal. Never heard ofGenny's ice cream, but if there is
one out here. They have acosmic blue Nebula berry, great Current infused
purple star Born. It's a drink, Okay, it's a drink. Moon

(23:48):
pies. Down at the Moon Piesthey have Eclipse Survival kits, limited edition
moon Pie cookies to celebrate the solarclips OREO. They are going galactic.
They have Galactic Cosmic cream Yum.I'm down with that. And uh,
solar inspired Snapples. The new SnappleElement Sun is packed with flavors of starfruit,

(24:14):
orange, and nectarine. Hmmm.Yeah, all right, So that's
your solar eclips report Monday. Wherewill I be during the solar clips I'll
be at work. I'll be atthe school, so maybe we'll take the
kids outside, and no, Idon't want to risk the kids staring looking

(24:37):
at the I'm going to go toGaryan Shannon's viewing party that I'll be broadcasting
live from the rooftop here at iHeartand I think they'll have glasses and everything,
and I'd love to hear their takeand watch the eclipse with them.
Is that something everyone can go toor just listeners listen then listen. Yeah,
so it's not something for the listeners. That's a private thing. You
know what. I'm not you knowwhat, I don't work there. I

(25:00):
just going to show up. HopefullyI don't get kicked out of the party,
okay, but yeah, it shouldbe a good time. Great,
great replaced the view someplace high. The roof up here is high. Yeah,
I hope the weather. I hopethe weather is good. All right,
You're listening to soul Cal Saturday withTawala Sharp on demand from KFI AM
six forty kfive AM six forty liveeverywhere on. I heard radio app and

(25:37):
received a signal Hill, Valencia andAtlanta. This is soul Cal Saday.
I'm your host, Taala Sharp. And no, I've never been to Coachella.
I have never been to Coachella.I've watched it, I don't know
how many times on YouTube, watchthe live stream, and I'm just like,
wow, that looks like the besttime. But I am not down

(26:02):
with be it two three, evenone day of camping out in the dusty,
dirty, dusty dirt. Okay,I'm not down with the cabanas or
the tents or whatever, sleeping, roughing it porta Potti bathroom using, or
just the sheer debauchery that I believeis happening out there in the desert.

(26:29):
Now. When I was younger, yeah, I was down with the debauchery.
I was absolutely down with the debaucheryrecently. By recently, I mean
this week. The AIDS Healthcare Foundationthey put up a billboard right near the

(26:49):
Coachella Festival grounds and it is abillboard warning against sexually transmitted diseases. Yes,
the billboard says, catch more thanvibes, I even catch you know,
STDs or whatever else is happening atCoachella. Now, Coachella, they

(27:15):
were up in arms, you know, because you know you're this billboard is
alluding to STDs being prevalent at Coachella. We wanted taken down. And LA
based a Healthcare foundation, said, are you under the impression that people are
not having rampant sex and doing alltypes of other stuff at Coachella? Is

(27:37):
that what you believe? Do youbelieve that STDs are not running rampant here
in southern California? Do you doyou think that? And you know,
Coachella they have yet to respond, really, but the question does have to
be asked, what is Coachella afraidof? What? Why would Coachella want
this billboard taken down? As ifthere are some young people who are going

(28:00):
to see this billboard and say, what, I could catch more than a
vibe at Coachella. Oh I'm notgoing. Oh I'm not going to Coachella.
No, I promise you this.Everyone going to Coachella knows what's going
down at Coachella. Okay. Itis a three day festival in the in
the sun and in the dirt anddesert and all that with music, and

(28:23):
I know people who have gone. It's not just music. There are lots
of drugs, lots of drinking, lots of partying to the wee hours of
the night. I'm not blasting Coachella. I'm just saying these are facts.
These are things that are happening. It's not that Coachella is you know.
Please do not think Coachella I'm sayingthat you're approving of all these things,

(28:44):
or you're even encouraging these things Coachella. I'm not saying that at all.
What I'm saying is I know Coachellais not stupid. I know festival organizers
are not stupid. So let's notstart playing like we're stupid. Okay,
we know what's happening at Coachella. Why are you up in arms about this
billboard? I remember, and ifyou are around the same age as me,

(29:08):
you will remember the billboards of thisis your brain on drugs. You
see the two eggs frying sh drugswere still ramping in my neighborhood. Okay,
I don't think a single drug addictin my neighborhood ever thought, oh
man, those frying eggs my brain. I can't do it. I'm not

(29:29):
gonna take this crack cocaine. No, the crackheads, they still got the
crack. Okay, No billboards stoppedthem. Sorry. Uh. In southern
California, forest fires run rampant. How many smoky billboards are up right now?
We're still having first fires and allthat jumping off. Sorry, the
billboard is not going to stop peoplefrom doing what they're doing. And it's

(29:51):
not gonna stop Coachella festival tickets fromgoing on sale when they dropped, because
trust to believe those tickets are goingto go like that. Okay, like
like that, that's all fast they'regoing to go. So you know,
billboard is going up. But Ithink right now, if anything, the
billboard is allowing news outlets like KFIto talk about it and to bring awareness

(30:11):
to sexually transmitted diseases here in southernCalifornia and the awareness of how many more
women now are being infected by gonorrheaand chlamydia because you just got a bunch
of dudes who are out here justwilding out and it's filthy town. Okay,
it's filthy town out there, andyou know it's out You know,

(30:33):
HIV is actually still a thing, believe it or not. I know,
we don't see a lot of ribbonsand telethons anymore, but yeah, AIDS
and HIV is still a thing. So Billboard, Billboard. I don't think
anything is going to stop what's happeningfrom happening. But if it brings a
little awareness and allows us to talkabout it and at least put it on

(30:55):
our minds, and maybe we're sharingthis with our young people in our lives.
Cool, have at it. Nextweek, got a brand new show
coming your way with another small businesswith small business. Who knows, Robin.

(31:18):
We have Jones Brothers. Breaks, they resurface breaks, routers and drums.
They're auto company. Yeah, theydo auto stuff. I'm not an
auto girl, but I can usesome knowledge on that. I look forward
to that because I am hard onmy breaks, because I talk about times.
Man, Sometimes I get in myfast and furious mode when I think

(31:41):
I'm Dominic Toretto on the freeway andso if the song is good, yes,
oh, I'm out there so Ineed that information. So I look
forward to talking to Jones Brothers breaksboot. Yeah. Make sure you tune
in for that, and make sureyou stay tuned because up next, Steve
Gregory has another fantastic episode of Unsolved. Super producer Keayla, thank you for

(32:06):
another fantastic show. I truly appreciateit. Robin, thank you for holding
