(01:40):
is a pleasure and an honor tohave the both of you on today's episode
Sporadic Thoughts. You know what Imean, two pillars of the community always
always got their hands out in thecommunity, given giving back to the community.
That's one of the most important thingsthat we can do in the community
is to get back. And wedefinitely appreciate and so you guys do.

(02:02):
I love that. Every time Ilook up, it's always something going on.
And if usually you two are involvedsomehow you got individuals, but together
y'all just make magic. Why isit so important to y'all to give back?
Well, you know what me personally, I have took so much from
the streets of line community of Lineman. Okay, you know I've been home

(02:24):
for prison nine years. Okay, congratulations b for sure, when I give
back to the community and the lookon the community's face, hold on,
We've remember this guy used to dothis and that, but now they welcome
me. That's good and that's importantbecause the feeling that I get from the
open arms of the community gives me. And you know, and the smile
on the kid's face. We doour outreach programs to smile on the elder

(02:47):
these face where we do our nursinghome outreach programs you know, it's just
amazing. Yeah, gratifying. Ilove that. I love what about you
drive. That's for me. Ifeel the same way that Quincy does.
You know, it's took so muchfrom the streets when when I was out,
I've been incarcerated two times myself.Uh, well, you're just for
selling drugs. I'm no, it'snothing to boast about. But you know,

(03:12):
it's the real. It's it's thereal. Once I, you know,
woke up and realized how I'm damagedcommunity and things, just destroying people
as a whole. Oas like,I don't know when I come home.
Yeah, I'm gonna do something different. Me and him, we just hooked
up, just hooked up. Itjust happens like that, you know.
Dud was something actually Yeah, yeah, so this business been and people always

(03:37):
act like, man, how youand dre get so tight like this?
We basically got the similar stories fromthe streets, okay, businesses and stuff.
And when we did our first outreachStaying Together, and I ran through
fresh and faded and it wasn't hit. So we just kept magic going.
The same chemistry and yeah, especiallyfor the kids, stain ely you know,

(04:00):
hey, loot the kids right andeven there. Yeah, get down,
hold on, I got new keys, stay care right. We won
it. So why don't you tellme a little bit about this outreach you

(04:23):
got going on? You just mentionedit a little bit. Well, God
gave me a vision when I camehome. Why I didn't act on it
right away? Okay, like myfourth year home, we started our first
outreach. Okay, we did youthe elderly being one night? Why yeah,

(04:44):
yeah, if we did our firstoutreach, we did you the elderly
being on night in Linema matter,uh huh. And it was a huge
success, you know, and shoutout to Melissa saw the direct or out
there that it was such a success. But it was right before the pandemic.
Yeah, so right, so aswe did it's all the other nursing
homes they heard about it. Thepandemic hit two days like two weeks later.

(05:04):
Day down. They wanted to implicatethis what we did at Lima Matter
into all the other nurse at homes. Din stopped it. So after the
pat did it, we picked backright back up. That's one hoop that
was dre. We did our firsttrumpet tree trumpet. Yeah, we're on
our fourth a trumpet Tree annual Ethree, and we on our second annual

(05:30):
adopted elderly for Christmas. Right, second annual adopted aller for Valentine's Days.
Right, you just have a loton And I named the team out which
Lineman. I didn't want to beabout me. Didn't want to be about
Dre or first Faded or office Maxright powers all our event. I wanted
to be about Lina shout out theoffice man, shout us next to man.
Look, I wanted to be aboutLinema. That's why anything we do,

(05:53):
we reach out to the community Linementand they make sure every event that
team out each Linem to do isa success. And without y'all we yeah,
definitely, I mean what he said, it's great right right and comes
in and we're rolling right and andnow, and it's it's an exciting time

(06:15):
because back to school, you knowit, and we know that fresh and
Faded team outreach line of outreach isreally big in the community for back to
school. So oh, okay,SERI looks about it. So y'all hear
about it, right, Yeah,y'all go ahead and explain what's going on,

(06:39):
all right, I can elaborate onthat. Okay, this is dying.
I just live my hands that deathright, Okay, even though I'm
a part of it, right,it's been a fresh and faded thing before
I came in. Absolutely, comeon, let us know what's going on.
Every year, the Sunday before schooluh goes back, we always do

(07:01):
block party back block part. Idon't know. It just started off as
like well, no, actually startedoff at the first freshman faded on Kibi
Street. We were giving away twentyhaircuts. That's all we had, that's
what we could afford. And actually, you know, I gotta get props
Clay Clay Tucker was the one thatwas paying for the kids haircuts, but
it was yeah, saying that wewere doing it for free. So Clay

(07:25):
really got us going with it.And then once we moved downtown, it
was just like, yo, what'sgoing on? And then when they gave
us the block, it was oneume we service completely a thousand pole.
I mean we knew that through hereit is. We knew that through the
amount of hot dogs that we gaveaway and how many book bags are Okay,

(07:46):
wow, yeah that's some numbers rightthere. Yeah for sure. Yeah,
and one day, Hey, that'sblessing blessings from two to five.
Right, that's so gratifying. That'sa a beautiful thing. And to see
the looks on the kids faces. And you know, I'm on Facebook,
so when I see like all thetraffic that day, and you know,

(08:09):
it's just a beautiful thing. Andeverybody wants to know when is it happening?
How can I help? What canI donate? And you know,
my time, my effort, whatever, and yeah, you really see the
community come alive on that corner andreally and our sponsors are dope, you
know, every everybody's like to me, it's overwhelming because for me, I

(08:30):
never you couldn't have told me this, I was gonna be in this scene.
I feel you. Yeah, thirtythirty years ago when I was right,
yeah, different lifestyle thirty years ago. You can't tell me I'll be
where I'm at right now. Becauseyou know, that's how life has a

(08:50):
journey in a way of just bringingyou through things. Can you go through
certain things to be certain ways?So it's amazing, you know, in
life's just a journey. Honestly,it's just a journey. You figure,
I just lost my train to chart. But do you think you're just though

(09:11):
even up to certain things like sayingan event you wait on event, like
Okay, we've been waiting for backto school, back to school, and
it's really the whole time. It'sthe journey that we really got to appreciate
it. Yeah, you know whatI mean. Definitely, And I know
you're probably at the point now wherepeople are coming to you to ask how
they can't help instead of you goingto people and then you know what I
mean. So it's like people wantto poor, poor, poor. And

(09:37):
I was just talking about this withmy son. It's like when God see
you moving, he'll make provision andright and open up the doors and everything
will just come flowing it will. You gotta be prepared. Yeah, you
know, something to add on toyou speaking about how life is a journey.
You know, I started out cuttinghair in my garage charging two dollars

(09:58):
right right, That's really that wasback in the day. I figure out
my and Elucid. But I started. I started cutting my grandmother's garage man
for two dollars a hair cut.The day before school. It'd be packed.
I probably wouldn't. I probably startabout three o'clock when I get out

(10:20):
of church, right right after Ididn't eight, and then it might run
to like ten eleven, ten eleveno'clock the day before school. But anyway,
where journey comes in to me whereI'm piggyback off of what you were
saying. Yeah, the first timeI went to prison, Wow, I
got my I got my barber license. I come home, but I'm not

(10:43):
ready. Okay, what's the redbutton? Say that you don't want to
get finished? Oh okay, it'sall good though, but yeah, yeah
you got home, came home fromprison. Yeah, I came home from
prison. Well, I went toprison. I got my barbar's license.
When I came home from prison, and I'm thinking myself out like, yeah,
I ain't selling no man, youknow what you mean somehow it's a
drought d boom. I got himright, right right, But I wasn't

(11:05):
ready. So then I go backto prison the second time. When I
go back to prison the second time, I run into a friend from Lyman
Pedalwe all we talked about is businessWorld. Taught me how to read the
New York Stock Exchange. She taughtme how to read stocks. He wouldn't
let your knowledge. Yeah, hewouldn't let me come to him and talk
about the latest rapper, because hedidn't know who the latest repper. He

(11:26):
didn't know none of that. Hedidn't even know what was going on in
the outside world. His whole thingwas just yeah, learning, I go
back the second time, like Isaid, went back the second time,
I learned business. So then nowI come home. I learned the business
through Jody and already had my trade, okay, and then I put it
all together because my journey to meYo, I've been to the military,

(11:48):
got help, went to prison,got a barber's license, but I wasn't
utilizing it. I mean I wantedto see it. Dope, go back
to prison the second time to learnbusiness. Now, when I put those
two times you, let's let's clarethat he went back the second time and
then he ended up learning bit gojust to learn it and oh yeah,
yeah, yeah, I'm sorry. And I went back the second time and

(12:09):
learned there we go. I wasn'ttrying to learn business. I didn't know
anything. I just when I metup with my friend, that's all he
talked about. And then together, yeah, push it. So I mean
that's a great thing though, thatyou guys were able to formulate and put
together a plan and and teach eachother different uh what you even call it?
Maybe like the skill trade, right, Uh you know anything like that.

(12:33):
You gotta keep Just push it in, brother, push it in with
this. Yeah, I just putit. An't gonna break, all right,
just push it it dirty wiped offthe screen from her regard, I
was able to take those two experiencesput them together on my journey, yeah,
and became, you know, withhow I became. I'm sorry,

(12:54):
I met doctor Sinclair and became firstand say, okayd Downtown absolutely on your
thing. And I'm glad that youhave that talk with your mands because they
definitely told show the talent that youhave what you're doing. Yeah, okay,
yeah, okay, we're back.Well, look, technically I'm about
this tripod off a king getting sotippides don't don't do it. He did,

(13:18):
not blas it's a bipod and abook under but no. But life
is a journey, and I'm gladthat you were able to find what your
gift was. Unfortunately through them situations, you know, you came out on
top with it. Absolutely, Sothat's amazing. Uh So about this outreach,

(13:39):
I understand you guys have a adultspelling all here, Yeah about spelling.
But the thing about that is hell, I hear that you gotta take
a shot to get in the spellingbe So basically, you know, about
a year ago, I posted, hold up, don't trip. We we
live on. So basically I postedweek over last year, I posted,

(14:03):
hey you got a third grade goodgritch get your spelling, So we're gonna
have one. I had like ammuniacomments. So we actually brought to life
this year. It was like, okay, we're having our fun. We're
having our first annual adult spelling beat Pressure Faded Powerball Office Max on the
twenty six, okay, on thetwenty six. Doors open at six thirty

(14:26):
six six six six, those openat six. We went six six six
twenty one up because you right, you gotta have a shot work. It's
gonna be fun. We got food. We're gonna have food up there.
It's gonna we're gonna have fun.First and second, third prize, it's
gonna get away big trophies. Andwe're also looking for sponsors. So if
you have a business you want asponsor, contact me Leandre Johnson. This

(14:48):

you get your logo, your biggestlogo on the final on flyer woof would
be out by the week. Soyou want to got us? Didnt you
want to sponsors? We're making ithappen, man. So so the minimum
you accepted, Like, uh,what's what's the minimum you accepted? We
accepted. You know what you wantto sponsor the first? You want to

(15:11):
be the top tier when we hadgold, platinum, silver, just got
all those I don't know, butthat's what I said. Sponsorship was going
off about three hundred and going downto one hundred. Okay, what pack
die you want? Like I said, Track for East sponsorship, get a
different level of sponsorship from me.I just wanted to give him a little
idea what they're working with. Solike, give us kind of like a

(15:33):
clue what type of words this isgonna be like hood friendly words or is
it like some big it's going upto huge? So the tim tim to
beat you with a fifth prede that'sbetter be tag you right side up.
You get your repdions. Girl, you gotta spell pier spell now want to
add that? Bro? Well yeah, really we're uh, we won't tell

(15:56):
the grade level of what words we'regonna register or you'll get the booklet.
Yeah, that's what's coming, witha little seriousness, with a little bit
of twist with how you gotta haveone to drink? Yeah right, sober?
You might have not? You mighthave definitely. Yeah, I'm a

(16:17):
bad speller when I'm sober, sobeing drunk, right, might it might?
Yeah, it's counter I think that'swhat you know. I want to
jump into a little bit about youknow, this a nice staple of Fresh
and Fading, and I kind ofwant to understand what you have planned and
what's the future looked like with Freshand Fading. Excuse me, because it's

(16:41):
definitely about more than haircut. Itdefinitely is. It definitely is you know,
it's not just the salon and abarber shop. Yeah. So Fresh
and Faded is located in uh ourdowntown building, Doctor Sinclair, that's my
business partner. Okay, So forthe building itself, well, hold on,

(17:02):
sorry, Fresh and Faded we alsohave one located in Brooklyn, New
York. Globle Man. Yeah,I gotta go down and then and then
we have a satellite shop located onthe bluffed in College service to students,

(17:22):
you know, because a lot ofthem don't have cars. That's done,
so we go there at a ata discounted rate. Helped the kids because
you know that's who don't know howit is to go to college, but
super broke all the time. Youknow, yeah, I'm sure. But
then for the future of the building, you know, we have plans on
you know, opening up a restaurant. Well, I want to open up

(17:44):
sports lounge uh ways and fades uhways and fade while you're waiting for your
haircut. You know, you canorder the waitress to bring it over,
things of that nature. Upstairs,I would move my rental. I will
build a rental hall upstairs, becauseright now people think that's an official rent
a hall. No guy, justdormant. They'll come on the rent right

(18:11):
the green carpet on, I digit. I like putting something new down
all of this coming down there.Yeah, definitely, I mean, yeah,
get your paper please believe you know. But your upstairs be a very
very nice, upscale rental hall. And then on the other twenty thousand square
feet, we were thinking about doingsomething like piers and FOURT one. Okay,

(18:34):
you know we need cub alternative andwhatever, but that has to be
thought about because it depends on theamount of traffic. It doesn't make to
build something too big. That heshowed that space for the first time and
I was like blown away, LikeI've been with this guy for some years.
He finally took me up there lastyear. Right, that's the secret

(18:55):
bavision. Yeah, so big thingsgoing on with that being said, and
it's opening in my ears to somethings that sound very intriguing. Please let
you know, reach out to peoplewho you feel. If you are looking
for investors and I have to sitdown, I'm gathering you, you know.

(19:21):
Whenever that time does come, Iwouldn't mind listening to what is going
on. No, most definitely, most definitely. I see, this is
one thing about me. I don'tknow everything. I have a little model
that I said, you can learna lot from a dummy, not saying
you're actually a dummy or anything likethat, but I can learn a lot
from me. No, definitely,I don't know everything. So you know,

(19:42):
maybe, hey, yeah, wecan't sit down here, let's learn
from the baby's architect. Definitely, that's one of the words them. So
definitely. So in breaking news, right, breaking news, I love don't

(20:07):
mind I'm like what yeah, yeah, like break them the Manana family that
was I just watched it probably aboutwell, I was watching it on my
way up here, Like when youwaved at me, I was like in
my phone, got you. Hewas texting me the one dude like what

(20:29):
would anna start? No, okay, okay, this happened. This is
what happened. The people put theirboat right in the area where the ferry
was coming into dock. Correct. So the guy that works there here,
the guard, he told him like, look, you need to move your
boat because the fairy trying to comein, and yeah, you you know,

(20:51):
it just escalated frost. Okay, well that's what I didn't understand.
I seen how the fights well youknow the right, but I didn't know
that that's what was going on.Well that's what happened the rest. Yeah,
and then what had happened was whathappened Why dude just started hitting the
black blue So they growing up andthen all of a sudden happened like he

(21:17):
he's summoned. I didn't realize hewas who right, and then so they
thought they was gonna just jump theloo and then they worked on then they
worked on it, swam in yeyoung buddy, and he say, you

(21:40):
know how much energy it takes toswim across the channel. And then then
away they got was sixteen the youngeryounger and then the workers on the fairy
the workers on the Fairy day theywas waiting on at the dock. They
had took their shirts up and everything. As soon as they got what the
favorite name was Harry periods ain't thatso? Who was? It was supposed

(22:00):
