It really hardly needs any introduction.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
Got another lovely episode for tonight.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
All I got to say, folks is get your popcorn,
get your twigs, get your kit cat, get a chicken,
catch a tory or a turkey, tetrazine, whatever.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
Whatever you like to eat.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
You gotta get your snacks ready and buckle up because
we got some hard hitting, fast paced, NonStop action.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
For you guys here.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
We got a lot of topics to hit on this
Halloween night, and so little time because after this I'm
probably just gonna go home and watch some horror movies
or something.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
I think Thursday Night Football.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
What's the game? Is it? Texan?
Speaker 1 (02:35):
It's Texans Jets, which I'm only one. The only reason
I'm watching it, though, is because I have fantasy fantasy fantasy.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
Who's on your team in that game?
Speaker 1 (02:47):
Well, I mean ahead, Nico Collins injured? Yeah, is the
op of the year. Yeah, pretty much. If they make
a playoff run, he'll be back. It was like an
eight week recovery and we're in week eight, so gross.
It's no, it's not looking comfortable. But then I also
have Tank Dell, so he stepped up big obviously with
(03:07):
Nico Collins being down. And then I have the Texans defense,
which they're playing the Jets. So here's an easy I
don't know I'm predicting fifteen. I know it says I'm
guarantee it's like projected seventeen point or seven point two,
but I'm thinking it's a fifteen.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
The Jets are in shambles.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
Jets are in shambles. So if they scored zero points,
I'm gonna be like, yeah, I'm the world's greatest you know,
Fantasy GM you've ever seen, right, exactly. And then I
have Camimi Fairburn, right, So, so he's been putting up points.
He's the third ranked kicker. Just putting that out there.
I mean he's averaging I think he's averaging like eleven
points a game. He did have one game that he
really got me upset on where he missed his only
(03:42):
pat the only time he stepped out on the field
and he missed and he missed a point, and I
was bro that is literally supposed to be the free
it's a free point, so free point and we missed it.
What are we doing?
Speaker 3 (03:52):
My kicker?
Speaker 1 (03:53):
Last week?
Speaker 2 (03:53):
I got the lines kicker, Jake Bates, and yeah, with
all the extra points, with how much the lines were scoring,
he actually got me a boat.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
What did he put up? Do you know, like ten
or twelve or something? It was a lot, I tell you,
I tell you what though, uh Kamimi Fevorne he put
up fourteen.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
So the battle of the kickers here, I think up.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
Two or three field goals and two pats.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
So so I think I think you've got you've got
some serious fantasy football watching to do tonight. You're you're
scouting out that Thursday night football game, and I'll probably
just be going home with my lovely girlfriend Jenna, and
I think a few of her friends are coming over
as well, and we're just gonna probably hang out and
watch I.
Speaker 3 (04:28):
Want to watch a horror movie.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
But I got a feeling Jenna's going to be more
interested in the uh in the Charlie Brown kind of
autumn vibe.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
But I guess, I guess, yeah, you're officially in.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
That real Yeah. Yeah, it's it's it's it's that time
of the year. It's it's autumn time. And I think
she'd rather, you know, maybe cuddle up and watch of
you know, an easier to watch film. But then again,
we're gonna have friends over here. Then you know how
much cuddling. Then you hit her with it so she feels.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
The need to be like, oh, Daniel, save me, Daniel.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
See, so I can give her like a big old Oh,
don't worry about it.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
Pay I got you.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
I'm here to protect you from Pennyway the clown exactly.
I don't know if it'll be it.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
It might be Charlie Brown, but we'll have a relaxing
night and then this weekend maybe I'll be getting after it.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
But I don't know.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
Well, we're definitely getting after it on Sunday. Sunday Dome
Crew Football back better than ever. Playoff run, generational talent
coming your.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
Way, beautiful segue into the first topic of this phenomenal
episode that we got coming up for you guys. Our
Dome Crew football team, as always, is dominating this year
a special four oh.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
Baby four and oh we lead in points against also
known as we've led up the least amount of points again.
I really yeah, we are. We are first in points
against because think about it, the only team that put
up points against us is they put up twenty to
our forty six. Yeah, that was the most points in
a game that we've led up is forty points.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
Well, because we had we had the shutout, Yeah, we
had nineteen. Oh, we had that shut out. Our most
recent game, didn't we let up one touchdown?
Speaker 1 (05:57):
Yeah, we let up one right, No, pat right, Andrew
got the block on the pat right, So six and
then twenty so twenty six and we had to shut out.
And the other game I think like the other game
was like a two touchdown. I think it was like
twelve or fourteen, twelve or fifteen something like that. So
like still even there, like we've only let we're not letting.
We've scored. We've scored more points in one game than
(06:20):
we've let up all season.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
And usually defense in the seventy seven or four v
four flag football leagues is just it's like a scatt Yeah,
it's it's like a screen door on a submarine, because
all anyone wants to do, like myself included, is is
get the ball in the end zone.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
Yeah. Touch Well, it's like so you know, as you know,
as a supervisor and as a ref for flag football
through the university, we are told like flag football is
supposed to be offensively dominated. Your games should be you know,
forty to forty five, you know, twenty to twenty five,
like they should.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
Be should be scoring, they should be bar and burners,
y should.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
Burners, Like we're just supposed to be going down because
like what you no ball is an uncatchable ball, right,
we learned that one the hard way. Well, there's that.
There's that one. No balls and uncatchable ball. You can't
make contact with the offense. You can't like all of
these different things, like if you try to grab flags
but you hold their shirt for too long, it's a
holding penalty, like all of these things. So it's like
(07:13):
offensively dominated. There, You're they're supposed to be giving rules
favor the favor offense because it's non contact. Like that's
just the way that it is, correct.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
But when you're playing offensive line, you cannot make any
physical contact with the defensive.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
No in front of you, to the sides, you can't.
You just up the side of your leg.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
I literally put my hot hands behind my back and
just jockey back and forth.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
That's the best way to do.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
And then when when the guy gets past me and
starts running out, Trevor, I'm just like, well, you just.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
Open up first. Yeah, I just roll out where and
you're like, I'm back to the line of scrimmage. You
catch the ball, you get another five yards of boom. Easy.
You do that every play, you'd get a first down.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
But uh, and then we're also fourth for points points four.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
So we're a defensive team.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
We we like to pin our ears back and impose
our will on defense. That and are electric offense.
Speaker 1 (07:59):
Also the number one seed.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
We're the number one seed.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
We do have a bye. I saw that we took.
We took the buye. We would have been playing this week.
But the boys took home a by being the number
one seed in the men's Black bracket.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
In the men's Black brat, which the Black bracket is
the best one. It's the top dogs, top dog.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
So two undefeated teams in the men's Black bracket, and
more than likely it's the Black Squirrels. It is Dome
Crew versus the Black Squore. Black, that's what it's gonna be.
But it's gonna be the Black Squirrels. They're are the
you know, complete opposite side. We're the number one seed,
they're the number two seed.
Speaker 3 (08:30):
It's gonna be electric.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
It's gonna be.
Speaker 3 (08:32):
It's it's it's gonna be one hell of a tournament.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
We've we've gone, like we've been talking about, we went
four and oh four absolutely dominant games that we've had
up to this point in the season. And something that
I always mention for those of you who tune into
my old Man the common Man Dan Cole on k Fan,
you've heard me go on during spread Swing and talk
about my quest for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty because in
(08:55):
my very first flag football game, which was not with
Dome crew, it was with a tea in my fraternity
Pi Kappa Alpha. I was playing with those guys. I
caught a touchdown and all I did was spin the
ball on the ground point at my quarterback, who I
can't remember exactly who was playing quarterback, but I just
pointed at him, and I got flagged. I got flagged
for that unsportsmanlike conduct. And I heard from intramural personnel
(09:19):
and Dylan that if I got another one of those
unsportsman like conduct penalties, I'd be required to have a
meeting in the intramural office yea, to discuss my poor behavior, which.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
Is just too good. It's too good.
Speaker 2 (09:35):
So I've been going for this all year, and I'll
keep this recollection of the most recent attempt pretty brief.
But what happened was we were up on this team,
like twenty something points to nothing, like we're dominating them.
So I'm just looking at Trevor Brainbear and all of
our starting guys on defense. I'm looking at I'm like,
bring out the second team defense. We're not gonna lose
(09:56):
this game. Like put me on an island. I was
chanting team defense. He was going crazy, second team defense,
and one of the twins subbed me off.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
He says, you know what it was.
Speaker 1 (10:07):
It was Braiden Brayden was looking a little round or no,
excuse me, Barrett Barrett was looking bare.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
Yeah, Barrett was a little he was a little poop.
So he said, DK, you can come in and take
my spot. The first snap that I'm playing cornerback, nothing
really happens. But the second snap is where it got interesting.
I'm out on an island.
Speaker 1 (10:21):
And well, I don't know if you heard me, but
right before the play starts, I yelled out, DK Island.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
Here we go, baby, K Island. It's DK Island.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
And this guy, this guy took a visit, and boy,
I don't think he'll soon forget it. I was lined up,
the sideline was just about like five maybe ten feet
to the right, and this guy is basically right up
against the sideline.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
He's like a little bit to my ring. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
Yeah, So he he ran kind of a slugo route
where he kind of faked inside and then just cut
back out, and he was going for the back corner,
and I was stride for stride with him because he
wasn't any faster than me.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
I ran.
Speaker 2 (10:59):
I ran directly with them, and at first I didn't
even see a ball. I just heard you and a
few other guys yell, oh DK, and that's why I
knew the ball was coming my way. So I picked
up speed and I can see like I'm directly next
to the guy.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
So I try and locate the ball.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
Once I get even with him, and I look up
and this is a night game, so the lights are
on and I can just barely make out the ball,
but I can tell that like it's it's not gonna
go pass me or over me.
Speaker 3 (11:26):
If anything, it's gonna fall short.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
But I see it, and I just keep going and
I put my hands together just hoping that it falls
into my hands, and it fell basically right into the
bread basket. I make the interception, My flag gets pulled immediately,
and I was I got a lot of cheers from
the field to everyone.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
Dude, everybody, everybody on the sideline was hyped because, I mean,
I tell you what you would have thought, Daniel was
a five star cornerback. That's what I said. The way,
the way that you know he's playing, he's got hands out,
he's not letting them see. He hears the noise and
he turns me eye contact with the ball. Let me
make sure I'm talking to the mics. You guys can
hear me. Still immediate eye contact with the ball. Daniel
(12:05):
hands up straight, grab, you know, perfect, and you know
they they made that triangle perfect grab and tucks it
right in and instantly goes down. That's exactly what we
like to see.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
You couldn't have drawn it up any better. Not not
to toot my own horn or anything, but that's I mean,
that's how they draw it up.
Speaker 3 (12:21):
That's what a cornerback is supposed to do.
Speaker 2 (12:23):
I did just that, and afterwards I have the ball,
I'm hoisting it into the air, trotting up the sideline,
feeling victorious, and then I fake an injury, so I
grab at my left hamstring and start limping fall to
the ground, and I began to do an army crawl,
you know, to shoulder shoulder and moving up, using the
(12:43):
ball as a sort of rifle. And then I started
pointing at I don't know why I didn't point at
the other team because I didn't want to actually piss
them off. But I started pointing at you know, Andrew
and something, and I think you Dylan and just other
guys on the sideline just going pew pee pee pep.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
I was on the sideline, and you know, I have
my crutches, so I was going.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
So i've I pretended to brandish a weapon and I
didn't get a call. I did not get my unsportsman
like conduct number two. I've done two or three things
that definitely could qualify as an unsports conduct penalty if
the right person was reefing.
Speaker 1 (13:17):
But we haven't got there. I'll tell you this. I
hate to say it, but we're getting some leniency since
I'm on the sideline. Yeah, all the boys know that
I know what goes on in the back end, and
so they all kind of look at me, are like, hey,
take care of your boy. I'm always like, hey, that's
on me. I got you. But just going back, just briefly,
just so we just we can understand, you know, when
we're talking about like points four points against currently Dome
(13:40):
Cruise averaging six point two points against.
Speaker 3 (13:46):
Six point two points against on average.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
In our first four games, we have an average of
six point two points scored against us in the game.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
We're like the Purple people eaters of the seventies Oxact Goodness.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
And then points four. We have scored one hundred and
twenty seven points across four games. Across four games, so
averaging just over thirty averaging just over thirty points a game,
which puts us at a differential of oh god, what
is that number, like one twenty seven minus.
Speaker 3 (14:20):
He's crunching the numbers.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
Let him use the calculator, one hundred and two points
or something like that average whatever, it's yeah, one hundred yeah.
So just to put this in a in a reference,
looking at this thing by division, So obviously we're in
you know division, we're in division black, which is the
top tier. It goes black, red, white, right, So by division,
you know, we're we're up there. We are top dog. Yes,
if you then look at the entire league, guess what,
(14:43):
we're still top dog. There is there's only one other
team that is close to us in that standing. Club
Golf put up one hundred and twenty four points. Okay,
but they're not even close to us because they've taken
a loss. They took a loss in which the team
scored like forty some points on them, which is crazy
because how do you let that happen?
Speaker 2 (15:03):
How do you if I scored my if I was
on a team that scored forty some points and lost,
I would be living.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
I'd crash out exactly. Which my guess, My guess is
that that team that they lost to probably was, you know,
maybe Black Squirrels, who have put up one hundred and six,
like a team that is comfortable because we haven't played
Club Golf, which because like that, maybe that's what I thought.
It's like, oh, maybe we played them and we put
up our you know, our average thirty some points a game,
right or forty yeah, thirty some points a game, like
(15:30):
you know, that'd be I'd be good, but we haven't
played them. I'm looking at I'm looking at who we've
played and whatnot. I'm really looking forward to playing the
Azul Ballers as a Zoo ballers. Yeah, I'm looking forward
that we're gonna well more than likely play them because
they're on our side of the bracket, right and obviously
we don't plan on losing, so we'll play them eventually lose.
Speaker 2 (15:48):
We couldn't spell lose if you spotted us, the Ls
and the e in in some the Boys are poised
for a phenomenal postseason run. It's only right where all veterans,
we're all seniors. It's one last ride. The seventy seven
Revenge Tour will continue this Sunday at mabel Lee Fields.
I believe the first game is at mabel Lee at
I don't know five thirty or something. It's five thirty,
(16:10):
I'll check my calendar. That's when the Revenge Tour postseason
specifically will commence. And I'm ready for a win because
we've got the Purple People leaders defense combined with the
greatest show on turf offense of the two thousand Rams
or the ninety eight Vikings with Randy Moss, Randall Cunningham
and the Boys, whatever you want to whatever comparisons you
(16:31):
want to make they're valid because we are the top done, we're.
Speaker 3 (16:34):
Then and now, Dylan.
Speaker 1 (16:37):
We usually at this.
Speaker 3 (16:38):
Point just transition right into Husker football.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
We usually just go straight there.
Speaker 2 (16:42):
But before we do that, I got something a little
bit different for us, and we'll still your gift. I
hope you've prepped your brain because let me tell you something.
Speaker 1 (16:50):
It's time to play the game.
Speaker 2 (16:54):
You know what time it is time to play the game.
Speaker 3 (17:00):
It's time to play the game.
Speaker 2 (17:04):
Dylan, I'm gonna give you a little bit of trivia
on Husker football. I don't know how well versed you
are in the history of Husker football. Casual you are.
You are Nebraska born and raised. I threw in some
softballs here, and I threw in some slightly tougher ones,
and most importantly, I threw in a couple questions that
are really going to highlight the struggles that Nebraska football
(17:26):
has been having, which will lead us into our discussion
of our last game, the heartbreaker against the Ohio State University.
Speaker 3 (17:35):
Dylan, are you ready?
Speaker 1 (17:37):
No, I don't really get a choice.
Speaker 2 (17:39):
I'm pretty sure well bet ready, because uh man, if
you stay ready, you don't got to get ready.
Speaker 1 (17:43):
That's the one thing there.
Speaker 2 (17:44):
So it's time for a little Husker football trivia. Lock in,
because it's about to get very very serious. Okay, I
get a sound effect, Very serious?
Speaker 1 (17:54):
All right, lock me in.
Speaker 2 (17:55):
The Nebraska football program has developed three Heisman Oh shit, three.
Speaker 1 (18:01):
I was so ready. I was going I was banking
on six.
Speaker 2 (18:03):
It's developed three Heisman Trophy winners and its history.
Speaker 1 (18:07):
Who are they? Oh god, this really exposes how much
of a casual I am? Name?
Speaker 3 (18:14):
Can you name at least one?
Speaker 1 (18:16):
Did Tommy Fraser win one?
Speaker 3 (18:18):
Tommy Fraser did not win one?
Speaker 1 (18:21):
I know? God? Eric Crouch?
Speaker 3 (18:24):
Right, Eric Crouch is one? But do you have any
idea who the other two?
Speaker 1 (18:27):
Can I get a hint on one of them? Initials
are JR. Johnny Rodgers, Johnny Rodgers. That's too, Johnny the Jet. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (18:34):
Then the third one? He won it after Johnny Rogers,
but before Eric Crouch. I believe running back. I'm a
bit of a casual as well. Initials m R.
Speaker 1 (18:44):
Oh no, this is so embarrassing because he came to
Nebraska and I talked with him. No, he wrote a book.
Mike Rosie, Mike ROI.
Speaker 3 (18:55):
Those are three Heisman Trophy winners.
Speaker 1 (18:58):
This is so embarrassing because he dude, he literally wrote
a book and gave us a copy of his book
for free, and we're supposed to read it. But that's
all right.
Speaker 3 (19:06):
Well, we'll keep moving on.
Speaker 2 (19:07):
This is we're sharpening you for next time this happens,
because this will definitely happen.
Speaker 3 (19:10):
You'll get quizzed on a podcast.
Speaker 1 (19:12):
Great Nebraska from the World.
Speaker 2 (19:14):
Nbraska football has claimed five national titles. What years were these?
Speaker 1 (19:19):
Okay, we got one ninety three right close, ninety four
ninety four. We went back to back in one of them,
didn't we or two of them?
Speaker 3 (19:28):
God, we've gone back to back twice.
Speaker 1 (19:30):
Yeah, so is ninety four ninety five?
Speaker 3 (19:32):
Yep, ninety four to ninety five, that's two.
Speaker 1 (19:34):
And then it was it's like, what is it like
eighty one, eighty two something like that.
Speaker 3 (19:37):
We didn't win any in the eighties.
Speaker 1 (19:38):
Oh god.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
So it's like you're you're close though with the early
in the decade.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
Yeah, So it's like, what seventy three, seventy four earlier? Earlier?
So seventy one, seventy two, seventy one, seventy, nineteen, seventy, nineteen,
seventy one, ninety four, ninety five, and then there's one
more at the end of Tom Osborne's coaching career, like
ninety nine, right, No.
Speaker 3 (20:02):
Ninety seven, ninety seven.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
Seventy seventy one, ninety four, ninety five, ninety seven. Those
are the national titles.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
We need to win one in the two thousands.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
Now one that's this isn't that tough. But I guess
I wouldn't have known it, but you already named the year.
What year was Nebraska's most recent conference championship? And which
conference did we win? You named the year like two
seconds ago?
Speaker 1 (20:27):
Was it? It was like the Big eight? Right it was?
Speaker 2 (20:29):
It was the Big twelve that week twelve. It was
after the Big ninety nine, Big twelve. R ninety nine
Big twelve. That was our most recent conference cham could remember.
Speaker 1 (20:35):
I couldn't remember. I can't remember when they when we
switched or whatever, because I remember when we switched from
the Big twelve to the Big ten.
Speaker 2 (20:41):
Then, yeah, that was a hole debacles and now the
Big ten's falling off, but.
Speaker 1 (20:45):
Big Big ten's falling off.
Speaker 3 (20:47):
We deal with what we deal with. Then we move on.
Now two that are very recent.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
I have to do with this season and how awful
our offense has been out of all FBS teams one
hundred and thirty three teams. Just guess where are offense
ranks and total yards per game achieved?
Speaker 3 (21:06):
Seventy eighth?
Speaker 2 (21:07):
Pretty close, fairly close, You're you're close, ish, it's.
Speaker 1 (21:16):
Worse, It's worse. Oh god? So what like ninety first?
Speaker 2 (21:21):
Really close? Ninety third? And for reference, our defense is
ranked sixteenth.
Speaker 1 (21:25):
I was just gonna say defense is great, but our
offense is terrible.
Speaker 2 (21:28):
And the final question, when did Dylan Rayla throw his
last touchdown?
Speaker 1 (21:33):
Pass? Oh? He didn't throw one against Ohio Nope, didn't
throw one against Indiana Nope? And then did he throw
on against was it Illinois?
Speaker 3 (21:49):
He threw one more recently than Illinois?
Speaker 1 (21:50):
Illinois?
Speaker 3 (21:53):
It was an away game.
Speaker 1 (21:55):
It's an away game. Where do we? Where did we?
Speaker 3 (21:59):
Was that per the boiler Makers correct?
Speaker 1 (22:02):
Hit God? So, Dylan Rayo's.
Speaker 2 (22:04):
Last passing touchdown was September twenty eighth. He did not
throw a touchdown in the month of October. And this
is where we're going to delve into the serious issue
of Nebraska's anemic offense.
Speaker 1 (22:16):
It's it's not for a little Husker football talk.
Speaker 2 (22:18):
Dylan your preseason predictions through the first eight games, you
had us going seven and one with the lone loss to.
Speaker 3 (22:26):
The Ohio State University.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
It's very important you include the the they're very distinguish.
Speaker 1 (22:33):
They have the Ohio State trademark, so they're very distinquent.
Speaker 3 (22:37):
The they're very distinguished.
Speaker 2 (22:38):
My preseason prediction through the first eight games, I said
six and two with losses to Indiana and the Ohio State. However,
through these first eight games, our actual record is five
and three with losses to Illinois, Indiana, and the Ohio
State University. Our last game was just a short week
ago when we lost to Ohio State at the Horseshoe. Yeah,
(23:02):
and everyone is gunning for Marcus Sadderfield, our horrific offensive coordinator.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
He's from green Back, Tennessee. And let me tell you something,
mister Sash, he.
Speaker 2 (23:11):
Won't be getting paid very many more greenbacks from the
University of Nebraska if he keeps doing this.
Speaker 3 (23:16):
If he keeps doing.
Speaker 2 (23:17):
This, he's his offensive coordinator has been horrible. You could
say dreadful, awful, terrible.
Speaker 3 (23:23):
I'm gonna look.
Speaker 2 (23:24):
Up on synonyms, synonyms for horrible.
Speaker 3 (23:30):
There got to be some good ones here.
Speaker 1 (23:32):
Shocking, a good, appalling, I like appalling. Appalling is good.
Speaker 2 (23:37):
Vile nightmarish, that's good for Halloween. Atrocious, atrocious. Atrocious is
such a great word. Marcus Sadfield has been absolutely atrocious, loathesome. Okay,
we've got plenty of great adjectives, but guys, get you, guys,
get you. Guys got the idea. We're like, it's been awful.
He's terrible bad. Raila is not getting any opportunities to
(23:59):
throw the ball down. I remember at one point in
that Ohio State game he was ten.
Speaker 3 (24:04):
For fifteen for forty three yards.
Speaker 2 (24:08):
All all Dylan Raiola did was throw some checkdowns, checkdowns
and screen passes. That's all he was doing all game.
And it's getting sick in it. It's getting exhausting.
Speaker 1 (24:17):
Well, like watching him, like in the first couple of
games that we played, and they were letting him take
those big shots because they trusted him, and most of
those big shots worked out really well. I mean, of
course there were a couple of balls that were overthrown, right,
a little underthrown, but like at the same time, it's like,
oh man, like that ball was just out of reach. Yeah,
it was like it's just out of reach, like you know,
it is what it is. But at the same time,
(24:38):
it's like.
Speaker 2 (24:39):
We're at least giving Rayola a chance to throw it long,
I like in the first games, Like I know in
one of our last episodes when we were kind of
harping on Raola overthrowing, I believe it was Fidoni And
then Bulm comes in misses the field goal to take
the lead against Illinois.
Speaker 1 (24:54):
He missed the throw.
Speaker 3 (24:55):
But now I'm yearning for those days where Royla would at.
Speaker 2 (24:59):
Least throw the opportunity, where he's at least getting a
chance to throw the ball. I mean, you would think
that with I know, he's a true freshman and you
got to develop him, and you can't let him make
too many mistakes and lose confidence. Because in all fairness,
in his last three games he's thrown no touchdowns and
thrown five interceptions.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
So I understand you don't.
Speaker 2 (25:19):
Want to have him lose his confidence, but I argue
that it's more important to just give him opportunities to
sling the ball so that he can, you know, check
the film, understand what mistakes he made, and then go
into the rest of this season being able to throw
the ball comfortably. Because if Dylan Reyoli and the offense
continue to play like this.
Speaker 3 (25:38):
I don't know if he will win another game.
Speaker 1 (25:40):
I truly, just as of right now. Yeah, it's really hard,
it looks really bad.
Speaker 3 (25:44):
It's it's awful.
Speaker 2 (25:45):
I mean, let's look at that Ohio State game. It's
seventeen to twenty one, we're down. There's like a few
minutes left in the game. Maybe it even got down
to I think it may have gotten down to the
two minute warning while we still had the ball on offense.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
And yeah, it was it was our Yeah, it was
our last drive.
Speaker 2 (26:01):
And there was that really bizarre targeting call on Jamal Banks,
super weird that probably wasn't targeting.
Speaker 1 (26:06):
I mean, no, no, So the deal was it's it's
not necessarily I mean, everybody made the claim that it was,
you know, not targeting because it was with the shoulder.
So the whole reel on it, we looked it up,
we had a we had a huge conversation about it.
Obviously most of you probably don't know. I went to
the Ohio State game, watched the Ohio State game from
the shoe.
Speaker 3 (26:24):
You were in Columbus.
Speaker 1 (26:25):
It was in Columbus. But the problem is is if
you watch it, he lowers the shoulder, loads and extends.
He doesn't leave his feet, but he does extend through.
And what it comes down to is it is to
the head or neck area, which it is it was,
and it is on a defensives player. So those two
tied with the fact that he is loading. The conversation
(26:47):
we had in determination of the rules. Now, who knows
if I made the right determination of the rules. But
you could technically get a targeting call if you used
your You could use an elbow and get a targeting
call as long as you fit those like if you.
Speaker 3 (27:01):
As long as you're left your feet and you.
Speaker 1 (27:03):
You know, you loaded, left your feet and then made
contact with his head with just your elbow. I mean,
obviously it doesn't feel good for you, right, but it's
not gonna it's still gonna be targeting even without it,
because you're making contact to the headerneck area defenseless player
left your feet, like that was the idea.
Speaker 2 (27:19):
You're gonna You're gonna get dinged for targeting exact. Either way,
the call was controversial, and I feel that part of
it was one of those things where you know you
have to have irrefutable evidence to overturn the call that
was made on the field. If it's called targeting on
the field, it's gonna be tough to overturn that. I
think that if it was ruled not targeting on the field,
I don't think they would have been able to determine
that it was targeting given the.
Speaker 1 (27:39):
Footage that they have.
Speaker 3 (27:40):
But that's just me.
Speaker 2 (27:41):
That's just my opinion. And that's the great thing about America.
Everyone's entitled their own opinion, even if it's wrong. But
after that targeting call on Jamal Banks, here are our
next three plays. All right, you're ready, get ready, done, ready,
get ready for this brilliant offensive coordinating. We got a
screen to Emma Johnson, shout out Emmett for three yards. Okay,
screen for the yards, you know, not bad.
Speaker 1 (28:00):
I hope for more.
Speaker 2 (28:01):
But then another screen to Emmitt for minus one yards.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
He loses a year. Yeah, he loses the yard.
Speaker 2 (28:07):
So we're gifted this opportunity to keep moving the ball downfield.
And what do we do that We've been doing all game,
just screens and checkdowns, and it clearly hadn't been working.
Speaker 1 (28:17):
Up to that point.
Speaker 2 (28:17):
We had seventeen points, which I mean against the number
five team in the country with an excellent defense. Ain't bad,
but I mean we did something, but it wasn't enough.
And then after that screen to Emmett where we lost.
Speaker 3 (28:28):
The yard game ceiling interception for the Ohio State University.
Speaker 1 (28:32):
They pick it off.
Speaker 2 (28:32):
Dylan Royolo did not make a great throw. I don't
know who the intended receiver was. It may have been
Naor on that.
Speaker 1 (28:38):
Play, believe it was. It was underthrown.
Speaker 3 (28:39):
Yeah, I was underthrown. If he made the right throw.
Speaker 1 (28:43):
Then not necessarily. I mean he made a good throw.
Or excuse me, he made the right throw. Naylor was open.
It just wasn't a great throw. Just wasn't a great throw.
Speaker 2 (28:50):
So at least he got an opportunity to try and
sling it downfield, you know. And I just can't can't
help but be bitter at Marcus centerfeel for not giving
him more opportunities.
Speaker 3 (29:02):
During the game.
Speaker 2 (29:02):
Now, Rayola and other members of the Nebraska coaching staff,
other players, I'm sure have come to his defense. I
was reading some quote where Rayola said something along the
lines of, you know, hey, look, it's sadderfield's job to
draw up the plays, and it's the player's job to
go out there.
Speaker 3 (29:19):
And execute it.
Speaker 2 (29:20):
It's it's not up to sadderfield to trot onto the
field of the helmet and pads and get the ball
in the ends on. That's up to us, and it's
we didn't execute it. So it's it's our job.
Speaker 1 (29:31):
And I mean he's right, obviously, but also at the
same time, I mean, like we're under the two minute drill.
Plays have to be trying to get yards, get out
of bounds, put us in a put us in a
spot to score cuz I don't know, we lose where
we have to score a touchdown. There is no field goal,
no field goal, so we have we have to go
down and score field goal. So when we're at the
(29:52):
forty five yard line and we're throwing screen three yard screen,
it's alarming. It's alarming, especially when there's now there's a
minute thirty left and we're behind the line. We're not
getting first downs, we're not getting out of bund so
clock still rolling.
Speaker 3 (30:03):
And this has not been just this game problem. We've
had trouble.
Speaker 2 (30:06):
We've had trouble scoring recently in general. At Indiana, we
only put up seven.
Speaker 1 (30:10):
A easiately seven seven to fifty six.
Speaker 2 (30:13):
Yeah, that was a beat down. I really thought that
the Indiana and Ohio State results, I figured those would
be flipped around. I figure we would have had our
butts handed to us by the Ohio State and played
competitively against Indiana. But on any given Saturday, any college
football teams can go out and win a big football game.
Speaker 3 (30:29):
And we proved that.
Speaker 1 (30:30):
We could compete.
Speaker 3 (30:31):
But we got beat Indiana.
Speaker 2 (30:33):
We only put up seven points against the Rutgas, we
only put up fourteen, and then and.
Speaker 3 (30:39):
Perdue we after a scoreless first half, we put up
twenty eight.
Speaker 2 (30:42):
So we put some points up, but I believe we
had to pick six involved in there too, So really
only twenty.
Speaker 3 (30:48):
One points of offense.
Speaker 2 (30:50):
Like our offense just hasn't been there, Yea and Are.
It's such a shame because our defense has been balling out,
which kind of looks so good.
Speaker 1 (30:57):
Our defense looks except for excellent except for Indiana. Except
for Indiana, but they have a really good offense.
Speaker 2 (31:05):
Indiana, they had a great offense. Their coach all he
does is win. You just got to look him up
to look him up. So we had a rough time
defensively there, but our defense on a much more positive
Our defense looked fantastic.
Speaker 3 (31:17):
Yeah, I know that. The highlight of Ohio States team
right now.
Speaker 2 (31:20):
I mean overall defensively they're defensively or offensively, I mean
they're strong both ways. They're the number five obviously, so
number four or five team in the country, and they
got beat by Oregon by just a narrow margin. That's
their own way. They bles, that's the only blemish that
they have on the air. They're a very solid team,
and we held them to twenty one points. Our defense
(31:41):
looked fierce, Yeah, they did. I mean there were times
after the They scored two touchdowns pretty early in the game.
I think maybe one in the first quarter and then
one early in the second quarter. Maybe they were both
in the first quarter. But early on I saw Ohio
State open it up. They had one long touchdown pass
of like fifty sixty yards maybe, and I was thinking
to myself, Oh boy, they're gonna just take the top
(32:04):
off our defense and this is gonna be another Indiana game.
Speaker 3 (32:07):
I was looking at my phone.
Speaker 2 (32:09):
I was getting ready to, you know, order a boiling
hot vat of assphalter, go watch some grass grow or
watch some paint dry, because those would have been better
than watching a repeat of that Indiana game. But after
those first two touchdowns, they stiffened up, they held their own,
they pinned their ears back and imposed their will.
Speaker 1 (32:26):
Yeah, and it's like they got their interception, Like what
more can you ask for? But I mean we also
had an interception. Hertzog had an interception.
Speaker 2 (32:33):
Hartzog did make that nice pick which should have led
to a touchdown because you were positioned like we were
with were we in the red zone after Hartzog's return.
Speaker 1 (32:42):
I believe we were just outside of it. We were
like we were deep in deep enemy territory. That should
have resulted, especially especially that's a huge shift of momentum.
I should have taken that. We should have gone and scored.
Speaker 3 (32:52):
But I guess how many points we scored.
Speaker 1 (32:56):
Scored Daniel zero points.
Speaker 2 (32:58):
We got no points off of that turn over. But
we're forcing turnovers. Our defense is what's keeping us in games.
Like I said in the Lovely Little Quiz we just
had I believe it was. Our defense is ranked sixteenth
in yards per game. We're one of the best in
the FBS. Conversely, just with one one of the worst offenses.
But our defense has really been showing up. I've been
(33:18):
wildly impressed just about every game, like we said, except Indiana,
they've been showing up and Ohio State one for ten
on third down. These were every time they lined up
for third down, I just thought to myself, Man, you know.
Speaker 3 (33:32):
Like this is I feel like I was.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
I felt like I was watching the Nebraska that I've
come to know and loathe in these past three seasons.
Speaker 3 (33:39):
But every time they held up there under the bargain
and they.
Speaker 2 (33:42):
Stopped Ohio State, there were some booze in the stadium
where they're not for the Ohio State offense.
Speaker 3 (33:47):
I thought that point.
Speaker 1 (33:48):
Yeah, at points in times like you could hear like
whether or not it was Ohio State fans being upset
at the play call that was made or whatever. But
there were times in which they're booing and I was like, ah,
like there must be a lot of Nebraska fans here.
But I mean on that, after we're done talking about this,
I have something related to the very wonderful Husker volleyball team,
the Husker volume volleyball team. Once we're done with this,
(34:10):
we'll touch in on that, but which I thought was
very interesting that I heard from quite a few fans
out there. Yeah, but obviously, like we said, lots of
lots of just noise. The stadium was loud, for sure,
but it was one of those deals where I was like,
this doesn't feel any louder than Memorial Stadium, and you
guys can fit one hundred thousand more excuse me, ten
thousand more people in Reventos in your stadium.
Speaker 2 (34:28):
And what My friend JP, roommate was also in Columbus
at the Shoe for this game, and he's he put
it in a he put it in terms that I
think are very accurate. He said that he thought a
lot of the Ohio State fans quietness was kind of
just almost due to arrogance, like, yeah, you know it
was competitive earlier, but they're like, oh, we're the Ohio State.
We're not We're not losing to some corn Huskers. We're
(34:51):
not losing to Nebraska. But he said, towards the end
of the game, when it was Nebraska's off, like last
offensive drive, when it looked like we could have gone ahead,
it was loud.
Speaker 3 (35:00):
That's what JP said.
Speaker 2 (35:01):
It got loud like when it was loud, it was
louder than Memorial. But he said, like on average, it
was nothing crazy, nothing like completely out of control now,
I'm sure that when like Michigan comes down later this fall,
the school up North, sorry, when the school up North
comes down, when the school up North comes down from
(35:21):
the big House to play, I'm sure that that game
will get mighty loud. I'm sure it's going to be
on a different level than the Nebraska game, but still
crowd factor being playing somewhat of a part.
Speaker 3 (35:33):
But our defense just stifled that offense. Jamari Butler is
the MVP of the defense and that Yeah, honestly, he.
Speaker 2 (35:41):
Had seven tackles or no, Nebraska had seven tackles for losses.
We had seven tackles for losses and Jamari Butler had
three of them. And he was He was making all
sorts of plays. It felt like every other play he
was stopping someone or making a tackler or at least pressureing.
Speaker 1 (35:54):
He was just involved. It feel like with every play
in some way, shape or form.
Speaker 2 (35:57):
He's looked great all season and he's been around for
a while. I think he's a guy with serious, like
excellent draft prospects, and that game, I mean, I feel
like that his performance against Ohio State is a game changer.
When you're looking at you know, NFL scouts because they
go and they see you perform at this level against
a top five team, against a tough Ohio State team, like,
(36:20):
scouts are gonna take note. So I think Jamari Butler,
He's obviously the star of the defense of that game,
but it was it was great performance.
Speaker 1 (36:27):
Slice thing as we get one more year of him,
for sure, we do. We technically have two more year
of him, technically two more. Technically two more. Now he
did take a red shirt, right, so we technically have
two more years. I don't know, like I like again,
this is this is part of it. I just don't
understand the process of drafting. I don't know if he's
gonna want to declare for the draft. I don't know
if he's quite at that level where he wants to
do that yet, or if he's gonna want to stay one.
Speaker 3 (36:49):
More year and you know, develop build his draft stock.
Speaker 1 (36:52):
We'll see. He played good.
Speaker 2 (36:54):
But then the special teams, I've never been so happy
to see a kicker make a field.
Speaker 1 (36:59):
Yeah right, I mean it was kind of crazy.
Speaker 3 (37:01):
John Hole.
Speaker 2 (37:03):
He dug himself a hole in his first kicking performances
of the season. He I don't think he had the
last game he attempted a field goal was perdue. Like
last game, Rollo threw a touchdown pass perdue, and in
that perdue game, he went all for three. He was terrible.
He played awful. He missed every kick. Now we won
(37:24):
the game. It wasn't the end of the world. But
he did not play well at all. We didn't even
attempt a field goal against Rutgas or Indiana. But out
here he comes and plays in one of the toughest
environments in college football, roaring fans in Ohio Stadium, and
he drills three field goals.
Speaker 1 (37:43):
He went three for three.
Speaker 2 (37:44):
He made a thirty nine yarder, a fifty four yarder,
and a forty seven yarder, And that fifty four yard
was right before half, and I thought.
Speaker 3 (37:52):
He's gonna miss this, He's going to keep digging himself
in this hole.
Speaker 2 (37:55):
But he drilled it, and everyone was hype, even though
that was just such like a few fild goal has
never been such a big momentum.
Speaker 1 (38:02):
I remember sitting and they were kicking away from us,
and I'm sitting in the stands watching and I was
kind of just like, this is a terrible idea, right,
but just let don Roy, let's do let's do a bunch.
Let don Royal just sling it and see what happens.
Speaker 3 (38:16):
Just give the offenses like let it, let the boys.
Speaker 1 (38:18):
Work, let's do it. I mean obviously the boys worked
out because put that thing away. Put that thing away.
His fifty four yarder became the school record for longest
field goal on the road.
Speaker 2 (38:32):
Really ever, ever, that is fifty four yards aero for
three and not kicking in a month to a school.
Speaker 3 (38:40):
Record on the road.
Speaker 1 (38:40):
That's impressive, exactly.
Speaker 2 (38:42):
I've never been so excited to see a kicker and
make a field goal. Hopefully our offense could get back
on track because the day after tomorrow we play UCLA
here at Memorial Stadium. I think both of us in
our preseason predictions, I think we both predicted a.
Speaker 1 (38:55):
Winch and and you know what, I it's the utless.
Speaker 2 (38:59):
I know those record is a deceiving but I do
believe we're going to win this game. I know that
some fans are very bitter at Sadderfield. I would say
that overall, one being they love him to death, ten
being they want to burn him at the stake. I
think my bitterness is probably like a seven or and eight.
While the general fans is like an eleven.
Speaker 1 (39:18):
I would agree general general fans or get rid of him.
We don't want him anymore. You know, let Rule call
the plays like type of situation, and I mean, maybe
we keep maybe we keep set of feeling. Maybe maybe
Rule starts calling a couple of plays.
Speaker 3 (39:30):
Maybe Rule does.
Speaker 1 (39:31):
Because if I'm Ruled personally, I think I'd be a
little bit upset about some of those calls. I'd be
very bitter we're deciding that the play call is throw
a screen on whatever.
Speaker 3 (39:40):
I'd be disgruntled. I'd be very upset.
Speaker 2 (39:43):
But you know, my bitterness is only a seven or
and eight because while his play calling has been absolutely atrocious,
I mean, it is, at the end of the day,
the player's job to go and execute. So while yes,
something hasn't been working out sadder, Field's also got to
make better play calls.
Speaker 1 (39:57):
I think we beat UCLA.
Speaker 2 (39:58):
I think we make the adjustments we need. UCLA is
a deceiving team, but they're beatable. I mean they've lost
to only very talented teams. But I think we have
enough talent to take them down. In our town of Lincoln, Nebraska.
Speaker 1 (40:11):
I think, yeah, I think we put things away.
Speaker 2 (40:14):
I think we win this game USC Iowa and Wisconsin.
When the time comes to talk about some of those
future games, we'll get more into that. I think those
games are a lot more dicey. But I think after
this weekend we're going bowling. We'll get a six and
three record before before we get another break and head
for thel hoping for the Cereal Bowl, give me the
(40:36):
Quick Laying Bowl, give me the Hostess Cup, Kick Bowl,
any bowl we'll take.
Speaker 3 (40:39):
We'll take anything.
Speaker 2 (40:40):
After this week though, I think we're going bowling with
the six and three record before we take a break
and head to so CAW.
Speaker 3 (40:46):
But now, Nebraska volleyball.
Speaker 1 (40:48):
Nebraska volleyball, we're dominant, obviously dominant, but wow out in there,
I guess in general dominant. Yeah, we have seventeen straight wins.
All we do is win. All we do is win,
win win ranks for except for SMU.
Speaker 2 (40:59):
But yeah, that was that was a while ago. That
was months ago, months ago. I think that was late August,
early September.
Speaker 3 (41:04):
We don't talk about.
Speaker 1 (41:05):
Yeah, like we said, you know, dominant teams, right, fourteen
of our last twenty game sweeps, fourteen of our last
twenty sweeps. It's true, Rooms are out. We're clearing the
court early night for the fellas.
Speaker 3 (41:18):
Was that the comment that you had or what was it?
Speaker 1 (41:19):
Well? The comment that I had was so obviously, I
believe last week so the week before we played Ohio
State for football, we played Ohio State for volleyball, Yes,
which is feel very common Big Ten teams, like we
got to play it in the conference tournament whatever. Right, Well,
so obviously out there and where my Nebraska gear loud
and proud of is letting Ohio know that I have
no idea what a buck eye is. If you can
(41:41):
show me what a buck eye? What the hell is
a buck What the hell is a buckey? Right exactly
like I like I said on my snapchat story, what
the hell is Abut no one knows what it is?
No one knows what it is. So I'm talking to
some Buckeye fans. We're making conversations, making, you know whatever,
and they bring up Husker volleyball obviously, and you know
their football is our volleyball whatever. Yeah, and I'm talking
to I'm like, yeah, like, you're lucky if you can
get a ticket to a game down here. I mean
(42:02):
they're packed every time. Cut There is no open seat,
so like everybody is getting loud, we're getting proud, it's
the whole deal. And they were like, yeah, we we know.
And I was like, oh, like what do you mean.
They're like, oh, like you guys came out and played
just last week, and I was like, yeah, like we won. Obviously,
Ohio State sucks on top.
Speaker 3 (42:20):
Not great in volleyball, well.
Speaker 1 (42:22):
Great and volleyball, not great in football.
Speaker 3 (42:24):
Oh No, I was talking to Ohio State.
Speaker 1 (42:25):
They're not great in very and they said that it
was they had met multiple like multiple people and multiple
Husker fans that literally bought tickets at the Ohio State game,
flew to Ohio, watched the game, and flew home because
it was like a midday game. I'm pretty sure it
was like a four pm game or something like that
was something super weird, so like a three pm game
(42:46):
our time right, literally just made a day trip, flew out,
whether like a Friday night or whatever. However, they decided
to do it just for the game because it is
cheaper to get tickets in like, for like, it was
cheaper to get tickets. I don't Bio State and drive
to Ohio State or fly to Ohio State then to
try and get like good tickets. Heer serious they traveled that, well,
(43:08):
that's insane. They said that it was probably to go
to Columbus. That's what they said. I don't personally, I
don't believe that, especially if you're flying. I think that's
cap But but I mean think about it, like, let's see,
like I'll look it up right now, is what is
a Southwest Airlines Let's let's figure out what is a
Southwest Airline flight from Omaha to Omaha to Columbus.
Speaker 2 (43:29):
We'll crunch the numbers and assume the role of travel agents.
We do wear a lot of different hats on the show.
We'll take a look right now. But I think the
play you're making is like very valid in the sense
that to get a good seat at an Ohio State
volleyball game, I'm sure is much much easier than going
to a Nebraska volleyball game with.
Speaker 3 (43:46):
A good seat.
Speaker 2 (43:47):
Because they are in high demand. It is tough to
get into one of those games. It's viciously difficult. I
have not gone this year, but I want to. The
lone volleyball game I've been to was the seventeen and
oh and eighteen and oh number one and two Nebraska, Wisconsin.
Speaker 3 (44:00):
It was legendary anyways, Dylan.
Speaker 1 (44:02):
The first flight. Let's say we want to leave Saturday,
get back Sunday, right, like we're taking a small weekend
trip or whatever. Right, it would be two dollars. That's
like the fastest get there whatever. Blah blah blah.
Speaker 2 (44:18):
That's the fastest way to get there, cheapest way, cheap,
cheapest way, cheapest way to get there without even even driving.
Is probably getting close to that cost with gas.
Speaker 1 (44:27):
Yeah, and it's far more exhausting, Yeah, far more exhausting. Yeah,
it's like, excuse me, after after everything is said and done,
per passenger tax and fees, we are looking at three
hundred and seventy dollars seventy.
Speaker 2 (44:41):
Well, I think with overall price, I think they're lying
saying that Nebraska is more expensive. But I would not
be surprised if the Nebraska of allco tickets are that
hard to come by.
Speaker 1 (44:53):
Well, let's look on sea geek. Let's go see what
they have and we'll just take a look and we'll
see what does it take to buy a take get
food in Nebraska.
Speaker 2 (45:00):
Volleyballers, I know we don't have another home game coming
up for a little bit. I believe we got a
bit of a road stretch. I know, I think we
play Wisconsin tomorrow, or.
Speaker 1 (45:08):
Maybe play Wisconsin tomorrow. Tickets are selling at or not
to shoot me out tomorrow November twenty third. In a
couple of weeks, we playrak when Wisconsin is at Nebraska,
tickets are selling for four hundred and fifty dollars a
ticket that is general mission for yeah, four hundred dollars,
four hundred dollars, four hundred dollars.
Speaker 2 (45:28):
Because when the game that I was just discussing the
loan game that I've attended, that was Wisconsin number one
at Nebraska number two, the top.
Speaker 3 (45:37):
Two volleyball teams, both undefeated.
Speaker 2 (45:40):
Nebraska won in five sets, and I got my ticket
for fifty bucks. I now I feel like I just
stole something. I feel like I should turn myself in
the Lancaster County Hip.
Speaker 1 (45:50):
So just looking at this the next our next four
or three home games, this is the price. This is
the price of tickets, all right. To watch Minnesota at Nebraska,
tickets are seventy five dollars. Okay, that's the average cost
or whatever that seat geek is telling me, right. November sixteenth,
we played the Hoosiers at Nebraska, which Hoosiers are also
doing pretty well in basketball or volleyball. Volleyball, Yes, they're solid.
(46:13):
One hundred and thirty dollars. And then, like I said,
Wisconsin at Nebraska four hundred dollars.
Speaker 3 (46:19):
That is unbelievable.
Speaker 1 (46:20):
Yeah, so maybe it is. I mean truly think about it.
Could ticket four tickets, yeah, especially I bet.
Speaker 2 (46:27):
Maybe airline miles, you know, if you've got reward.
Speaker 1 (46:30):
Yeah, not that, so maybe you can get you two
your tickets covered or whatever. However it comes down to
seats or excuuse me.
Speaker 2 (46:36):
That doesn't surprise me. But yeah, now that I'm thinking critically,
it really could be more feasible to go to a
game in Columbus.
Speaker 1 (46:43):
Oh High especially Yeah, and like you know, like I'm
sure like you get a lot of like Nebraska surrounding fans,
oh yeah, from the Columbus area. Right, maybe you got
some Sincy fan like whatever, like you just want to
watch a good volleyball team, right, that's Nebraska.
Speaker 3 (46:56):
Nebraska can get a tickets.
Speaker 1 (46:57):
You can take it for thirty thirty five bucks.
Speaker 3 (46:59):
Why not?
Speaker 1 (47:00):
Why not? It's a great game.
Speaker 2 (47:01):
Nebraska travels well period, it doesn't matter the sport. I've
gone to numerous Nebraska away games. I think I've gone
to Nebraska Minnesota twice when it's been at TCF Bank
Stadium currently known.
Speaker 3 (47:13):
As Huntington Bank. But that's stupid.
Speaker 2 (47:15):
It's TCF Bank, It has been, it always will be.
I've gone to two games there and they've got great
attendance there. I think I saw a Nebraska at Wisconsin
game at Camp Randall. Harder to tell there because all
the fans are wearing red, but there was. There was
a lot of Nebraska presence there too, just walking around
State Street, walking around Camp.
Speaker 1 (47:34):
That's how Ohio State was as well. Yeah, it was
red on red. The bigger difference was you sign a
Higo State fan. It was red on silver versus red
on white.
Speaker 2 (47:41):
Right period and like point blank period. Nebraska travels well
in any sport. Our volleyball team is dominant. We're twenty
and one, seventeen straight.
Speaker 1 (47:50):
We're winning out the rest of the season, guaranteed. I'd
put money on it.
Speaker 2 (47:53):
Fourteen of our wins have been sweeps, and one of
our last wins against Michigan, we lost the first set.
This is the only time we lost the first set
in a game since SMU on September third and today's Halloween.
Speaker 3 (48:07):
So that stat kind of just blew my mind.
Speaker 2 (48:10):
All we do is dominate Husker volleyballs back and right
across the street. It's very much the same story over
at the Ice Box. The Lincoln Stars have been playing
very well up to this point in the season.
Speaker 1 (48:20):
There are some dogs.
Speaker 3 (48:21):
We know that.
Speaker 2 (48:22):
We've had a Jacob Rombach on last season at the
end after everything kind of got wrapped up, and just
recently we had Dash Oliver and Caden Harrington on the show.
Speaker 1 (48:32):
To shout out the boys.
Speaker 3 (48:33):
Yeah, two great fellows.
Speaker 2 (48:35):
Loved having those guys on and they won both of
those games in Youngstown because when we were talking to them,
they had that road trip upcoming, hopping in the bus
going couple thirteen fourteen hours east to Youngstown, Ohio.
Speaker 1 (48:46):
Boys are ready for it, they were looking forward to it.
Speaker 2 (48:48):
They won both of those games in Youngstown, and just
last weekend they had a series against the Tri City Storm,
the USHL squad based out of Carney, Nebraska, just a
few hours west. The first game of the series was
here at the Ice Box, and we actually lost.
Speaker 1 (49:04):
That was we did lose.
Speaker 2 (49:05):
That was our first home loss of the season. But
then we went on the road the next night and
beat them in Carney, so we got our We we walked,
We walked into their trap and took over their trapp
as Kirk cousins Mike walk into a trap take over.
Speaker 3 (49:19):
I love seeing Kirk Couzin.
Speaker 1 (49:20):
That was such a funny Kirk at he's.
Speaker 3 (49:23):
Been in Atlanta too long.
Speaker 2 (49:24):
Someone's got to get him back to Minnesolata so we
can be a Midwestern dad again with the Coles Cash.
But that's a different topic for a different time. The
Lincoln Stars are nine and two. We have eighteen points
so far, two for each win, the most in the USHL.
Speaker 3 (49:37):
And tomorrow night we play the best team in the East.
Speaker 2 (49:41):
We play Dubuque all the way out from I don't
even I think Dubuque is so far east.
Speaker 3 (49:46):
It's basically Illinois. I think it's that.
Speaker 1 (49:48):
It's it is that far. It's it's all the way
over there.
Speaker 2 (49:51):
So Dubuke's got themselves a long drive here, and they're
gonna have a long drive back after we get done
beating the breaks off of them. Because let me tell you,
I think the Lincoln Stars are I think we're poised
for a Clark Cup championship. Ron we got to buke
tomorrow and it's Princess neck. So that's that's a that's
fun little bonus. Should I wear it t yara?
Speaker 1 (50:10):
Which do? And the All right, then I became a princess.
Oh very what's that from? Princess Sophia. Princess Sophia. It
was a Disney Disney Kids.
Speaker 3 (50:21):
I'm pretty sure Disney Kids sensation. So Princess Sophia.
Speaker 1 (50:26):
This isn't this.
Speaker 2 (50:27):
This is when we get to the end of the
show and we're just having We're I mean once, we're
always having fun here.
Speaker 1 (50:31):
But I got adds apparently Princess one second, one, I'll
get it playing for the fellows. I'll even move my
mic down there.
Speaker 2 (50:38):
Oh, great Heavens, Princess Great Heavens. Sophia the first, Yeah,
Sofia the first. I hear it a little bit.
Speaker 1 (50:47):
Once upon a time. Oh, I want to tell it
me true, Okay, we'll all tell it wow in the magical.
All right, we're gonna skip forward a little bit because
I could give it's coming. It's got to come.
Speaker 2 (51:11):
I could give Abby and sal and the rest of
the Stars team suggestions.
Speaker 1 (51:14):
Maybe they'd play this over the jumbo drum. I'm trying.
Speaker 3 (51:24):
It's like that toy story. Mean, come on, come on,
come on, where is it?
Speaker 1 (51:27):
Where is it? The guy skipping through all the channels?
All right, so I don't know what's happening. Oh oh,
that's kind of the problem. Apparently I was on the
wrong I was on the Sofia The First Princess, which
was a one hour special, so I wasn't even gonna
get the music that I wanted.
Speaker 3 (51:45):
Deal in Fia.
Speaker 1 (51:48):
The first theme song. I'm finding it.
Speaker 3 (51:50):
Guys, I promise we'll give him another moment, please.
Speaker 1 (51:55):
Yeah, like I won't get the Bach two and all
right they night became a princess overnight?
Speaker 3 (52:05):
Okay, how to do it?
Speaker 1 (52:07):
That? So much?
Speaker 3 (52:16):
If I was fifteen years younger and a girl, I
would love this amazing, amazing.
Speaker 1 (52:32):
So, like I said, Sophia the first, let me adjust
my mic. Guys, Sorry, if this gets loud.
Speaker 3 (52:37):
Oh we'll fix it a post or we won't.
Speaker 1 (52:39):
There, we won't because I'm just that good at this
podcasting thing.
Speaker 3 (52:43):
So true.
Speaker 1 (52:43):
Cut out the part where yeah, editor scratched this scratch
the part where I missed or messed up all of that,
well act the first one, but then also like this
part we're talking about right now.
Speaker 2 (52:53):
And I actually have someone who's gonna edit this podcast,
So someone else because I'm getting too lazy and I'm
very poor at editing it.
Speaker 3 (53:01):
But shout out them. Well, we'll address that off.
Speaker 2 (53:04):
Of my because I don't I don't need to put
this person on blast. But anyways, Sophia the First, is
there anything more, anything more to say about it?
Speaker 1 (53:11):
Uh no, there was just that editor, don't actually cut
any of that out because I thought that was really funny.
Speaker 2 (53:16):
It's just a banger. It's just a great episode. It's
it's a great great mini series movie. Whatever it is.
So Fia the Princess, And maybe maybe I could dress
upic Her because I mean it is hallow weekend still,
so hallow weekend.
Speaker 1 (53:28):
You can find yourself a nice little a couple dress.
Speaker 2 (53:30):
I could get like a little dress like I don't
I would want it like bedazzled, but I don't think
that would be in time.
Speaker 1 (53:36):
You know, I feel like I didn't even think about that.
Speaker 2 (53:39):
I feel like the idea for my costume I would
want to do too much too quickly, and.
Speaker 1 (53:43):
You just got to get like a fairy wand and
a tiara. You'd be locked in.
Speaker 2 (53:47):
I think I can do a tr I know people
who have a TR. I think I could ask around
and I could get that completed.
Speaker 3 (53:52):
But that's a that's a job for after this episode.
Speaker 1 (53:56):
But tranclusion.
Speaker 2 (53:57):
The Lincoln Stars Princess Night were some dogs. After we
take on Dubuke at the ice Box. Tomorrow we play
Omaha in Omaha, will hop on.
Speaker 1 (54:06):
They don't want to smoke the short forty.
Speaker 2 (54:07):
Five minute, one hour bus ride to Dylan's hometown and
take on these struggling lancers.
Speaker 3 (54:13):
You got But that's why, that's why Dylan's a Lincoln fan.
Speaker 1 (54:16):
That's why he's stars fan. That's why he's hopped on
the bandwagon a lancer for then, somebody tell me what
a lancer is, and I'll tell you what a star is.
Speaker 3 (54:23):
He and a lancer. He's a Lincoln Star.
Speaker 2 (54:25):
We're both stars. We're both shining stars. And yeah, we're
both shining stars.
Speaker 3 (54:31):
We're both beautiful individuals.
Speaker 1 (54:33):
What's the ones like Shino Star up so Hot, Bright,
Twinkle Twinkle Little Start. I butchered that one. This is
I think Twinkle Tweet Guys. I'm sorry we're so out
of it, but all of us are just so excited
to get you this podcast episode. But also like it's
hollow weekend, so.
Speaker 2 (54:51):
We know that the we know that the hockey hockey
is a sport that generates a lot of concussions, but
maybe lacrosse is too, because boy, you go ahead.
Speaker 1 (54:59):
Yeah, it does not seem it's any spinning.
Speaker 3 (55:01):
His head is spinning. It's turn into scrambled eggs.
Speaker 2 (55:03):
So I think I think at this point, well we'll
both sign off and hopefully we'll give Dylan's head a
rest and give mine one as well, because GOLLI I
got a lot of studying to do.
Speaker 1 (55:13):
A lot of school work.
Speaker 2 (55:15):
Hopefully we'll get some time to relax in this evening,
but afterwards, it's going to be a grind this weekend.
Speaker 3 (55:20):
But I do have the parents coming down, so that'll
be fun. Hopefully they will get to meet you, Dylan.
Speaker 1 (55:24):
But yeah, I can't wait, mister, I can't wait to
meet you. I need you to pull up for me.
That would be absolutely wonderful. As always, thank you Dylan
Sash for joining me.
Speaker 3 (55:34):
Thank you very much. It's always a pleasure having you
on chatting with you.
Speaker 1 (55:37):
It's always a pleasure when you let me come on
this podcast that I'm also a co host. Uh, it's
such a pleasure when you allow me to do that.
Speaker 2 (55:42):
Always, always, I will always be granting you that lovely
permission to join the podcast that you are very much
a contributing member of. Dylan can I thank you for

(56:03):

Speaker 1 (56:06):

Speaker 2 (56:07):
Thank you very much for tuning in. This has been
Studio three one three. I'm Deuce. We appreciate you guys listening.
Speaker 3 (56:12):
