(00:00):
Welcome listeners. I know that thisis this might not sound totally normal.
We usually introduce our Studio three onethree episodes with a song and I provide
a little background on the artist releasedday of the song, the album,
et cetera, et cetera. Butthis is not a usual episode of Studio
three thirteen. Not only are weoutside of Lincoln, Nebraska, I'm not
(00:21):
here with my usual co host,Dylan Sash, the lovable and huggable Ginger
that you guys have come to knowand love or perhaps only tolerate. No,
I'm here with one of my oldestfriends. We became friends relatively recently,
but we've we've known each other andbeen in each other's like like we
(00:42):
just interacted with each other. Weinteracted, Yes, we interacted with each
other at a very early age,and we'll get to explain all that.
But welcome to this special episode ofStudio three one three. I'm your host,
Deuce aka Daniel son of Minniester. It was most prominent radio gad fly
the common Man Dan Cole, andI'm sitting down here with a very special
(01:06):
guest. She has a fun tieto me. From the very beginning of
our lives and her name is SidneyRackouse. Sidney, tell the people a
little bit about yourself and how wehow we very first probably interacted, even
though we might remember it. Hi, I'm Sidney Racou. I am Daniel's
friend from his hometown. We metbecause so our moms had like a mom's
(01:32):
group call it that, like aplaygroup, I don't know. And basically
it was like us and a bunchof other babies and we would like play.
That's it was literally just moms settingup play for us like we would
and we were like fully like zero, Yes, we were like so little,
like I have no memory of noever of ever talking to Sydney at
(01:56):
any of these moms as but meand Racout we've been kicking it since.
Essentially we were like, however manymonths one literally we were so young,
but we've all we've since met inan The way our friend group got introduced
was so interesting. It was itwas prom night and my friends and I
(02:17):
it was me and my buddy Lawnand some of my other Woodbury friends,
just the guys, and Lawn wastrying to figure out where to go after
prom. So we said, hmm, we were like, what do we
do. My buddy Lawn starts textingsome people and we end up at Danny's
house. Danny was also part ofthe Mom's Girl. Danny was in the
(02:38):
Mom's Group too, So it's myselflong Ian, Trenton, Auby, all
the Woodbury guys and Alex Alec wasthere and it was you, rack out,
Danny, Maddie, shout out,mad Matty, Kelly, Taylor,
Gigi, Franta. I feel sobad if I forget someone. Jenny was
(02:59):
there, Yeah, who else?I think everyone? I think we hit
everyone. So we were all hangingout there and then that friend group we
started to hang out more and more. So we have the initial Moms Group
tie and we have the new promGroup hangout which kind of that birth sort
of this new friend group, andnow we're hanging out. We're hanging out
(03:22):
whenever we can, whenever I'm intown. Racow goes to the University of
Minnesota here I'm down in Lincoln. That first game was awful, It was
atrocious. The thirteen it was awfulfor me because because to all the to
all the listeners who might not beaware of what happened. We the Huskers
(03:45):
were up by I think a touchdown, and we were like we were I'd
say we were controlling the game. And then we we we we we were
looking great. And I was talkinga lot of I was talking a lot
of smack in the Nebraska student section, and some other people in our group
wanted to leave the game early.I'm not I'm not not gonna name any
names, but I was getting alot of you know, the I'm tired
(04:08):
and I'm hungry, and you knowwhat, I said, fair enough,
let's just bail. I thought wehad it wrapped up and you know,
just let's move on with our knight. However, Comma, we're in the
drive through or McDonald's and my buddyAuvi has got the game pulled up and
we see Minnesota make a come frombehind victory. They are all laughing at
(04:30):
me in the car, and Ifeel ashamed and rack out how bad would
it have been if I was stillin the student section for that win?
Like? How much was I chirping? I mean, you were chirping a
lot to the people on all sidesof us that I've never spoken to in
my life. I was. Iwas fully turning around to other audience members,
and whenever we got it could bea simple thing like a first down,
(04:51):
and I was pointing to the otherside of the field and I was
I gave the old you know,hey, I'm I'm a business made I'm
not great at math, but Ibelieve that the Huskers are up by seven
points. If I did my mathait would have been ugly. Unfortunately,
so you're welcome. Yeah, yeah, Raco actually did very much say yeah,
(05:12):
it would have been. You didget flamed in our group chat.
Oh, the group chat was ugly. I had to I had to look
away from my phone, do notdisturb, don't hit me up, real
ones know what's wrong. Had topull all that, but we made it
out of that alive. But thisis not really about football. This is
about Sydney Rackau and some of someof her lovely ideas. But before we
get into some of her some ofher topics of the day, I want
Racket to just tell the people alittle bit about herself. Rackou what who
(05:36):
is Sidney Rackett? Who is SidneyRacow? I literally was, you know
how I was going to start.I was going to be like, I'm
a piscis, but we're going toget into that later. So I feel
like that's not what I should say, right, A little bit about your
your your background, your interests. So my name is Sidney. I'm a
biochemistry major at the U. Yes, I am from Woodbury, which is
(05:56):
the lovely town Daniel coland also residesfrom go sober She's not really, but
like, I went to high schoolin Korea, South Korea. And I
also briefly went to college in NewYork City for about two months. What
what was the college name again?Wait? Don Cooper? No, no,
no, I wouldn't have got thatCooper Union. Yeah, that's where
it was. It's a lovely school. Not for me personally, but it's
(06:20):
a time. And now I goto the U and yeah, I want
to go to Dallas school word andI like to read. Follow me on
Goodreads, Good Read. I loveGood Read. Do you provide reviews there?
I do so the people will beable to hear your feedback on various
novels. I recently actually beat myI set a goal to read ten books
this year and I finished my goal. So I'm very happy about that.
(06:43):
Okay, I'm still kicking, soI'm hoping to get ahead of it.
But so we have Sidney rakau Abiochemistry major who enjoys reading, used to
go to college in New York whennow she's here in the good old state
of Minisoul at that and she's gotone particular topic, well, it's it's
sort of numerous topics that fall underone umbrella. And we talk a lot
(07:04):
about sports. Sports. Sports.Your whole life is sports, and we
need variety on this show. Wegot to mix it up. Don't get
me wrong. I like sports justas much as the next guy. But
we need variety and Rackout is hereto bring it because she is knowledgeable in
a lot of areas that truthfully,I don't know anything about. And one
of them I would put it underthe label of pseudo science that I've pronounced
(07:26):
that correctly, and she did.She she's big into astrology, crystals,
all that stuff, and she's gonnatell me a little bit about myself and
my charts and signs and what haveyou. I don't know what any of
it means, but Rackaut just takethe lead just for a brief Like,
what would you say astrology is?Like, define it for the piece doesn't
have to be astrology is essentially likeI mean, okay, I wouldn't call
(07:51):
it a science, because as muchas I enjoy these things, I do
not believe in any of them, right because I am at my chorus major
and I know that these things arenot real. But she'd be rocking with
science. I do enjoy astrology.I would say it's like the science of
basically how the planets affect your personalityand your moods and things like that,
(08:15):
and like specifically the orientation of theplanets at the moment you're born. That's
huge, Yes, and rack outshe she's gonna investigate. I believe you
were going to talk a little bitabout just what order of topics were you're
gonna go. You just take thelead. Okay, So we were first
going to dig into Daniel's chartause Ithought that'd be really interesting. Okay,
we're gonna We're gonna take a toget my chart. For those who don't
know, I was born on NewYear's Day, two thousand and three,
(08:39):
at one thirty in the morning.Time matters. I was I was the
first baby born in Regent's Hospital inSt. Paul, Minnesota in two thousand
and three. I'll have that forthe rest of my life. And everything
everything matters, the time, thedate, everything and Raka is gonna tell
me what my birth date means interms of my astrology charts. I'm also
(09:00):
going to state that I'm really notcredible at all. So we're going to
be using a website called Cafe Astrologydot com. So, as all January
first babies, are, you area Capricorn, right, Like? What
is it? Like? What doesme being a Capricorn mean? Yes?
So there's four different types of signsthat like the elements. There's earth,
fire, wind, and air,Earth, fire, wind and air.
(09:22):
You are an Earth sign, yes, okay? And so your son sign
is essentially basically like your core, like who you are. It's like who
you are as an individual. Okay. That's like the most prompt Like when
everyone anyone's like, what's your zodiacsign? That's what you say. Okay,
So you're a Capricorn. So Iam a Capricorn an Earth sign sign
(09:45):
sign. Okay. So, asit states here, Capricorn is a feet
on the ground, I on theprize sign. Those with son and Capricorn
have a realistic, grounded approach tolife that is a parent, no matter
how dreamy. The rest of thebirth charts suggests they can be these people
know how to do things and howto get things done. I am very
(10:05):
I'm focused on reaching goals, butfeet on the ground. I don't know.
Sometimes I kind of let my heartdo the thinking and not see.
That's very unlike, which is veryunlike a Capricorn. So thus far I'm
like a Capricorn in some ways unlikea Capricorn and others. But continue.
But the more important thing is wehave to look into the other parts of
your charge, the other parts ofthe chart. Okay, let's see what
(10:26):
we got here. Yeah, soagain, Capricorns, let's see there's a
little more. It's like, oh, let's see. This part's about being
funny. So many Capricorns have masteredthe art of making people laugh. Their
sense of humor can be of thedead pan variety, generally excellent at keeping
a straight face. I can seethat. I I when my brother and
I will just be like staring ateach other and I'll say, don't laugh,
(10:50):
go and will stare at each otherand he loses everything. Yeah,
I feel like that makes sense foryou. I keep a straight face.
You can give practical advice. Canyou help organize and manage my life?
Life a little better? Because itsays that girl, I can hardly organize.
I manage my own life. Ithink I could help you organize.
You could very much help me.I I'm like somewhat organized, but there
are some areas where I am justfailing. I'm but I think I tend
(11:15):
to make people laugh just by beingsometimes it's not deadpan. I'm just very
like weird. Like I'll just somepeople have described me as an NPC and
like, like my the words thatI say, it's just like someone in
my brain has a soundboard and they'rejust hitting buttons because I'll just start saying
like yeah, like I'll just belike singing songs and just random stuff.
I can see that, but Ido feel like that makes sense. Okay,
(11:39):
let's move on to your moon sign. We have six to go to.
Oh I mean we have six totals, so we're on number two.
Okay. So the moon represents youremotional side, so your emotional responses and
how you express yourself. Okay,Okay, So your moon is in Sagittarius.
Moon and Sagittari, which is doyou know which sign? It?
Iss? Is? That? Like? What months is that? Is?
(12:03):
That? August December? That's DecemberDecember, early January, really early no
December and late November. December andlate November. Okay, Okay, So
Sagittarius, what what is a Sagittariusfire sign? Fire? So the Sagittarius
the like sign for it is likean archer Okay, and it's supposedly very
like free spirited and like it's afire sign. As I said, so
(12:26):
I'll read what it says. Okay, Yes, more than anything, Lunar
Sagittarians need personal freedom and space. They're extraordinarily happy and easygoing folk as long
as they don't feel caged in.They have a simultaneous need for activity.
Meeting new people, going out inthe world, or traveling are all important
to their well being. They loveopen spaces and in their homes a roomy
and bright environment. I that isactually very active. That makes sense.
(12:50):
It's okay. This is accurate inlike a couple of different ways, because
me personally like especially the feeling theneed to go out and meet people.
Here's what I'll say about that.I very much enjoy having time to myself
where I sit and watch Netflix orplay video games. One does and don't
talk to anyone. However, ifI do that, for too long.
(13:11):
I get crazy up in here, and I need to talk to my friends
or meet new people, or goout and do things. So I very
much agree with that because I remembervery in the very beginning of that statement
said, you know, you liketo have your personal freedom and your own
kind of space to just be,And I very much feel that way.
That's dead on, that's yeah.It also says you might like to throw
yourself into unknown an adventure, andyou're attracted to long voyages or the unknown.
(13:37):
Actually, I mean, well,is that true? That? I
mean, my whole kind of formy college decision, I was going.
I was teetering back and forth betweenUniversity of Minnesota really and University of Nebraska.
The whole time. I was goingback and forth, and I felt
that I had a better understanding ofwhere I was going with Minnesota, Like
I had a better idea of whatI was going to get. Yeah,
(14:00):
like I've already been to the TwinsI felt about Cooper right right, I
went to the Twins City. I'vebeen to the Twin Cities a bunch.
I know a lot of the peoplegoing to Minnesota. I figured Nebraska it's
like an it's an honors program thatsounds interesting, A new question mark,
yes, a new place, butI can like go home every once in
a while. Like I knew thatI'd be thinking about the what if if
(14:20):
I did. That's exactly how Ifelt choosing to go to Cooper. How
about that? Except you're not You'renot a copper Corn. You're a Piscey
and my moon is in Libra,so not We're not quite the same in
terms of in terms of terms ofthe star and it's all that intergalactic.
I do have a similar chart toOlivia Audrio though that's huge because aren't your
(14:41):
birthdays Like she was born a dayafter me. Oh that's huge. Okay,
but anyway, this is not aboutav She got enough attention. This
is our podcast, this is ourtime. So it's so far it's been
pretty accurate. So we've we've goneover. So I'm Moon, Sun and
Moon. Yes, okay, continue. So now is your rising sign.
This is a sign that's had iton the time you're born, so that's
(15:01):
why you need the time. Youare a libririzing. I am also a
librizing. So we'll see what Isay and see if it applies to both
of us or none. Of us. Hear, okay, oh, this
is kind of nice. Everyone seemsto like Libra ascendant natives. They just
come across as nice, pleasant andfair. Look a little closer at their
(15:22):
lives. Oh, look a littlecloser at their lives. And these nice
people may have had quite a fewproblems in their relationships. That's crazy,
crazy. Some of them may havehad a string of relationships and can It
can be hard to imagine why exclamationpoints, hard to imagine why natives attract
(15:43):
others to them effortlessly. Besides, they simply don't know what to do with
themselves without a significant other. Ohmy god, we're just recording a nice
episode here, we're getting torch.But here's what I don't know. We
have a charming smile, though,a charming smile, and we're attractive.
What's this website in the name again? Astrology? Cafe astrology? But what
(16:06):
a charmer that somebody's fine? Theyactually, yeah, okay, here's what
I'll say about it. Almost soundslike it contradicts them. That it does,
because they go they talk about how, oh, we're very charming people,
we're pleasant to be around. Butthen later it goes on to say
they've been in a string of relationshipand someone might question why why you just
(16:27):
said we were charming? What areyou talking about? Why we're awesome?
We're charming, we have great smiles. But nope, I guess we can
be persuasive. Do you think you'reI feel like you're you're persuasive. I
would say that I I if I'mlike very determined to get my way or
(16:47):
swing, like swing a decision oneway or another. I can be persuasive,
but I need to feel very passionatelyabout something, because at heart,
I would say I'm with people pleaser. That's fair. I feel like as
a Model u N member, rightand veteran. Briefly, what do you
do on Model U N? Youact as a country and you debate about
issues in the world. So debateyou gotta be yea, you gotta defend
(17:11):
your side. Someone who did itin high school and currently still does it.
Right. I feel like I haveto be persuasive, okay, And
I feel like that's also a strengthof minds. It works in the sense
I like it of Model U N. I don't know. I feel like
I'm really good at arguing with people, So that's a good skill to have.
Because you know, what, withhow how many people are going to
(17:32):
be working with the like, there'salways plenty of conflict and plenty of room
for arguments. Yay, But overall, you know, I think, Hey,
I think I'm a pretty pleasant personto be around. Just I'm kind
of a goof problems in the relationshipsis crazy. It was actually a wild
that's a wild job. And Imean my first relationship I had, I
did, I did have issues, and it didn't go smoothly the entire time.
(17:55):
It didn't end exactly how I wantedit to. So I guess,
I guess that part's not entirely inaccurate. But you know what, I'm going
to take the first part to heartthat I'm very charmed. I agree.
I just think we should take awaythe fact that we're attractive and charming from
this. I can ignore the restof Let's keep it wrong, okay.
Next one is mercury. Mercury.Okay, so mercury is your communication and
(18:17):
you're like being logical, right ofSo this isn't she her pronounce, but
it's that's fine her mind. Sosorry, your mercury is in Capricorn,
which is also your son sign anEarth's sign her mind compartmentalizes impressions, and
she appreciates structure and order. Themind learns best when it can see practical
uses for information. You're a deepthinker with a fine and vivacious mind.
(18:41):
May undertake the length, may undertakelengthy studies, or will teach herself a
rational person. Hmmmm, I feellike this is interesting. What were the
first couple sentences like, I don'tknow what the appreciates structure, compartmentalizes impressions,
compartmentalizes depressions. Does I mean likeI take I take first impressions seriously?
(19:03):
Maybe it's like you organize things likein your brain. I feel like
I do that I do. Idon't like I. I've been trying to
get on better habits with Google calendarand management. But you should get notion.
No, no, shout out notion. I'll definitely take a look at
that. I need it. ButI do try and organize things in my
head a lot. But then Isaid something afterwards like you appreciate structure,
(19:25):
yes, which is I would saythat, Okay, this sounds like me
to me that this does sound likemore you than me. For I,
while I can appreciate structure and havinga routine. I can also be very
flexible, where sometimes if I havea bunch of tasks to attack in the
day, I'll just figure it outin the moment. Your breaks, do
(19:48):
you know? I haven't taken it. I just think it's so interesting.
I'll take my Myers breaks. That'sinteresting. Part of the reason my like
astrology is because it's so fun tolike analyze people, because it's like an
excuse basically to analyze people's for right, which is the same reason I like
Myers. Briggs Proud, I st J here, Ike, I'll take
mine. I'll let I'll let youknow what I get. But I think
(20:11):
the structure I can agree with.I didn't a lot of that other stuff
sounded kind of complicated and did Ididn't know what I feel like. It's
not that was not the most accurate. Let's move on that one, like
the Sagittarius one has so far beenthe most yes correct, that that one
that was that Mercury and Capricorn.Sorry, Mercury and Capricorn is what we
just did. What I felt wasmost accurate was the Moon and Sagittary Moon
(20:33):
and Sagittarius top dog so far, that that one that we just did trash
it. So this one I'm excitedfor. This is your venus sign,
which is basically your romance sign Mercuryv stupid or Saturn. You don't know
what the song is, the planet'ssong. I've never heard that in my
life. That's just every time youkeep saying the planets, I think of,
like, you know, the planetsin our solar system. So okay,
(20:57):
sorry, this is I focused. So what was the sign? I
feel like I could read into whatthat just happened there, but I won't.
Let's hear about this. This nextone your venus the romance sign Venus
romance sign in Scorpio, which isa water sign. So I said this
earlier, but your big six isactually quite balanced because you have every single
(21:18):
element in it, so earth, air, water, and fire. Fire.
Okay, I want to say keepsaying wind like at the band and
like no water perfect, but yeah, so you have everything right anyways,
So Venus and Scorpio people attract otherswith their intensity and willingness to commit.
They have a strong and concentrated manner, which suggests their feelings run deep.
(21:41):
Their actions and love tend to promisedeep commitment and sexual pleasure. Even if
they are not telling you this directly, their appeal lies in their focus on
you and their dedication. Venus inScorpio seems fearless when it comes to intimacy.
They get the feeling potential lovers getthe feeling that you will never stray
and that you're intensely loyal. Well, then I will say when I was
(22:04):
in I don't know how I wantto like. I don't know how I
want to approach talking about this.I mean, you don't have to know
this. I committed to this.We are in too deep. Now we've
got to go. My dad wasknown as the Radio Romeo still is known
as the Radio that he just callshimself that whenever, whenever he gets a
(22:26):
chance, and he he just likestalking about himself, which really got from
him. That's why I started apodcast. True, But I would say
that I am in terms of relationships. When I find someone who I really
I have to like very much beinto them. But when I find that
person, I am their persons andand they they are all I'm thinking about.
(22:47):
Again, it has to be theright person. I've only felt that
way about two people that I canthink of off the top of my head.
Not gonna name names, obviously, but I've I've only felt that way
about two people in my entire life. And but but those two people,
I've felt like I could be fullydevoted to them and the thought of being
with someone else never even crossed mymind. And I feel like that makes
(23:10):
sense with this and I feel likethat's a I feel like it's a pretty
good thing. I think that's agood trait. You want to be.
You want to be allay. Loyaltyis everything in a relationship. If you
do not have trust in someone else, you have nothing right. That's my
biggest that that's like the biggest pieceof relationship advice that I've heard from someone.
It wasn't even directed at me,but that's the biggest piece of advice
(23:30):
that I've heard that I view tobe true. Trust. Yeah, that's
definitely true. I think so Venusand Scorpio is Venus and Scorpio. I
like that one. And to sidebara little, my Venus is in Capricorn,
which is, as we said,a very practical Earth sign, right,
and I think it makes so muchsense, which is kind of unfortunate,
but it's so true, Like Ifeel like I approach romance and love
(23:52):
very practically, right, Like, but I use my head more than my
heart, which is not necessarily bad, but it's also not necessarily good.
Right So it's like very interesting, but it's very accurate. They're two different
I mean, it's just two differentways to go about it. I am
a big think with my heart guy, which oftentimes that's a good thing.
Your heart leads you to make gooddecisions sometimes and relationships. However, sometimes
(24:18):
it doesn't. Sometimes you need yourhead. You just need you need to
need to combine with your I needa little bit of your thought process and
you need a little bit of weneed a little trade off here that'd be
beneficial. But what's what's the Ibelieve is it one final run? The
last one, last one. Soyour Mars sign and your Mars sign is
also in Scorpio, and Mars representsit says you're the desire for action,
(24:44):
the desire, and it's kind oflike how you react to things and like
things like that, if that makessense. So my Mars, for example,
isn't Sagittarius, which is a firesign. And I think I react
to things very snappy and like I'llget mad if I have to get mad,
and I think that makes sense,Like people have said I have a
mars and sagittaries for a reason,Like is that like a short fused type
(25:06):
of thing, Like it's kind ofkind of It's like I can get very
intense if it's important to me,right, And I feel like that is
where that question I understand. Butyours isn't scorpio. And as it says,
you love to challenge yourself to dothe impossible. You throw themselves or
you throw yourself into what they decide. Sorry, it's in like they pronouns,
and I'm like switching them up.They throw themselves into what they decide
(25:26):
to do with concentrated energy and awesomewillpower. These people make formidable opponents,
often quietly. They keep their coolon the surface, but below the surface
may be another story, and theyare unlikely to easily let you in.
It says you have the potential toexploit others. Oh, but here's what
(25:47):
I'll say. I don't know.Here's what I'll say about that one.
Okay, that one, I don'tthink. I find it accurate in some
ways, but in other ways it'snot like me at all. Because here's
what I'll say the line that particularlyinterested me. It was being calm on
the surface. Is that what itsaid? Yes? At times like I
can be very like chill on thesurface and very relaxed or just very care
(26:10):
free and easy going. But whenI when I get upset, it's very
hard. Like when I get veryupset, when I hit a certain level,
it gets very difficult for me tokeep it in and I'll often show
it. It's it's tough for me. I'm just sometimes I'm an emotional person.
It's hard for me to I wasgonna say, like, if I'm
feeling anxious, everyone will know.Yeah, nobody will nobody, nobody will
(26:30):
doubt it. Right Exactly when whenmy anxiety hits certain levels, it is
it goes off the charts, andit challenges themselves to do the impossible.
I would you say that, Iwouldn't say I. I say I I
challenge myself to do things that aredifficult, and I push myself to certain
(26:51):
limits. But I'm not gonna likeshoot drastically high, like shoot for the
stars, land on the moon typeperson. I don't think that's me,
because I try and set realistic, realistic, smart goals. I agree smart
smart goals. Never forget it.So true. But I liked I set
myself realistic goals, and those arethe things that stand out to me that
(27:12):
one's moderately acting. Yeah, Ifeel like I feel like this is very
interesting. Like I feel like there'sa little bit that makes sense and then
there's a little bit that doesn't makesense. Right, But that's how astrology
kind of is. So let's geta quick, like a very brief review.
So I'm a Capricorn, which isan Earth sign, and then just
go through like my what was inblank? Yes, so you have a
(27:34):
Capricorn sun Sagittarius moony rising, whichwas charming. You have a Capricorn Mercury,
a Scorpio Venus, and a ScorpioMars, and ladies and gentlemen.
That is my astrology information is brieflyran through and discussed. It's kind of
because here's what I'll say about astrology. Look, there are some people who
(27:56):
genuinely think that the planet's alignment, depending on the time and place and date
you were born, determines your personality, and that's garbage. That's not how
it works. There's because there there'slike you you follow it because it's like
a fun way, like hey,may like you know she she likes having
(28:18):
she you like having your names, and you're like going, Okay, this
person is like this and they behavelike that, they react like this to
certain information, and there's nothing wrongwith that. It's the problem that I
have is when people like say theymake genuine judgments like this is how like
your birth determined this, right,And that's you know, what determines your
(28:40):
personality the people you're around when you'regrowing up. You're surrounding it like a
nurtured nature. Argument, that's that. I'll argue this to astrology people like
astrology believers. Yeah, so that'sthose are my kind of thoughts on general
astrology. It can be. Itcan be fun, but I do think
it's fun. But don't don't takeit. Put a post up at my
(29:00):
desk at work of estra like allthe like scigns, right, And I
just think it's funny because I workin a science lab at a big science
company. Yes where obviously like noone believes in it, right, I
just think it's funny. Like theyprobably think I'm crazy, but like,
oh I got itto the dollar storeand I was like, I have to
put this up and hey, you'llstand out now when someone says, hey,
who is you? Remember that Sydneygirl and someone will be like,
(29:21):
oh the Estralla is yeah, yeah, hey you got to stick out.
That So true. But we've gonethrough a little bit of my chart.
Now we have some We got alittle some other content here, don't you
we do? Yeah? What whatelse have you got? You've got?
I call it almost a delusion box, but it's it's got like some we
got some what looks to me tobe like oils, a candle, some
(29:47):
rocks. I like, just what'sgoing on here with I'm holding a purple
rockmethyst. I got this from myfriend Christina for my birthday. Okay,
so she got me like this bagof crystals right for my birthday when I
turned twenty, and they were likebased on my zodiac sign. Sure,
so these are like Pisces crystals.I don't really know how that relates,
(30:07):
but so true. I honestly couldn'ttell you the names of some of these
crystals. But the purple one isamethyst. Does that have any particular meaning?
Well? Amethyst is my birthstone, okay, so that's cool, Okay,
And the one I know best aboutis rose Quartz, because that's like
supposed to bring you love. Sothat's fun. It's been Oh and this
one. I got this one inChicago. It's called Citrin. It's supposed
(30:30):
to bring you money and success. But you can see why I'm putting this
in my back you very much.I lost it for like a month,
and I was really sad. Butthen I found it. Girl, that
that means you know what that means, right, That means you ain't getting
no money. I know we're notgetting your money off when you go,
this is my money off? Thisyou said, this is like it's like
a yellowish it has a yellowish hue, but it's it's clear. It it's
(30:55):
just a rock. I do havea little anecdote though, and so I'm
going to state this right now.I don't believe in crystals. I just
think that they're pretty. And Ilike the fact that you can, like
it's what they say. It's niceto like, yeah, have them and
be able to be like, oh, this is going to bring me this
Like obviously I don't think it's actuallygonna work, but like it's kind of
fun. You look at this, like if I think where you're going it's
(31:18):
like you look at the stone andyou think, Okay, if it's just
like a little mental reminder, itmakes you feel a little bit like I
would bring them to exams last yearbecause I'm insane, Like I keep my
backpack, and I was like,I have to do well. Thus the
name delusion, right, But onespecific stone, so the one I'm holding
here, This I got in stillWater at the crystal shop. It's called
(31:38):
lapidolite. I believe it's purp.It looks similar to the amethysts, but
not quite as it's like more gray, but I think. And I got
it on a necklace, as youcan see. And so I got it
the summer before my freshman year ofcollege, and I brought it to Cooper.
(31:59):
I didn't wear it a lot,okay, but I this did I
say that this is supposed to bea stress relief. Crystal stress relief,
So that's the point of it.It's supposed to that's like one of the
properties of this crystal, right,And so I literally hadn't worn it the
entire two months I was at Cooper. And one day I was going to
the New York Public Library to studyfor my chemistry midterm and I was like,
(32:20):
whatever, I'll put it on.It's like pretty sure. That was
the same day I decided to dropout of Cooper And so I just think
it's interesting that the one day Idecided to put on the stress relief crystal,
I broke down in the New YorkPublic Library. My parents was like,
I need to leave. I decidedto drop out, and then I
was stress relieved. Her stress wasreleased. She was relief. She wore
(32:45):
the crystal and she said, shesaid, you know what, I've got
to make a decision. That's goingto cut off the It's going to cut
off the stress of the Cooper Union. She went and made it happen because
she was wearing the lipidoli. Yes, and so I don't believe in crystals,
but whenever I talked about them,I like to say that story because
I think it's kind of funny. It is. It is interesting that the
(33:05):
day you wear this, I thinkperhaps I about what happened is kind of
subconsciously or thinking, boy, thestress relieving rock like and you're you're you're
thinking of like what what situations arestressing you out right now? And school
was obviously a big stress for anyevent, and I think I wore it
specifically because I was studying for thatmidge. Yeah, but it helps me
in another way. Are you puttingit on? You're putting it on.
Okay, maybe it'll work. Sohere, I'm gonna put this on and
(33:28):
honestly, oh no, it's ait's a very nice it's a very nice
looking stone. I like it.I'm gonna wear this and if I feel
like the most mellow human being onearth, I will be a full crystal
believer. Perfect. I'll jump onborl I'll get a delusion bucket. But
that that is an interesting anecdote. The one day you wore your stress relieving
stone, your stresses were relieved. It's true. So she's she's talked a
(33:51):
little a bit about her crystals. Each one of them has a supposed meaning,
which again neither one of us reallybuys into, but they serve as
nice reminders being your priority straight, trying to find love, to keep yourself
happy, trying to relieve your stresses, trying to get that money out.
The thing you just said there wasvery evident of your liver rising. You
said, trying to find love tokeep yourself happy, and your liver rising,
(34:14):
said you aren't happy without our significantother. Very interesting. It all
connects, guys, It works,it works. I'm on board. Okay.
So we have the stones that wetalked about a little bit. What
else do we have here? Sowe have some essential oils? Oh my
Facebook alert? Yeah. So whatI'll say about the essential oils is Zarena
(34:35):
was the first one who introduced meto them, and she has edible essential
oils that she'll like put under hertongue. And I think they're kind of
cool because she gave them to mewhen I was sick at Cooper and I
just think they were I think theywere great because they really like cleared my
sinuses, so that was really nice. Sure, And when I had motion
sickness ones, she gave them tome, And I don't know if it
was just because like they're so intensewhen you're like tasting it that like distracts
(35:00):
to you, but like I feltbetter and I was like what. But
I also just think they smell goodbecause so Augie actually got me a diffuser
for my birthday, So I diffusethe oil sometimes because like they smell nice.
Yeah, But I also have somy friend Ken, his mother works
for like an essential oil company.Yes, and so he gave me some
(35:24):
of these like fancy like oils. This one's supposed to be like stress relief.
This one smells really good. Iwant to smell. And Ken's mom
actually made me this specific roller soit like rolls on your skin. And
this one it smells nice. It'ssupposed to be for your immune system.
And as we maybe all know,I have one of the weakest immune systems
(35:44):
known to man. Sydney rocout doeshave a very weak immune serce. So
I was like, I like diffusethe immune system oils a lot, because
I'm like, even if I thinkthere like have been studies done like that,
sometimes like these oils because the extractfrom like actual like things in nature
can have benefits. Right. Obviouslyit's not an excuse or a replacement for
(36:06):
modern medicines, of course, butlike it's kind of nice to be like,
oh, maybe like this will helpme not be sick. I don't
really think it's true, but Ijust think they're kind of fun. Again,
like that there's so many ones,And yeah, they smell that roller
that you just gave me, what'sin there? Because that smells fantastic.
That kind of makes of this onethat was supposed to be an immune one
and like an orange scented one,and then there's amethysts in the roller.
(36:29):
Oh so the birthstao, that's that'svery cool. Arena got me these from
France, actually maybe France, maybeEngland. Does that one have any particular
French? It's just lavender. Itsmells nice. You see, I I
can. I can buy into theplants more than like rocks, because,
like you said, the plants, like like, there have been studies done
(36:52):
that say that like these these oilscome from things that are actually in nature
which have right and it's like therehave been things say like oh this helps
you with this or whatever. Butagain not a replacement for like medicine,
but like it's kind of cool tobe like, oh this can be beneficial
or like oh it smells good, like I don't know. Let it be
known for legal purposes that this isnot a guide on how to treat diseases,
(37:15):
sicknesses, et cetera, et cetera. As a pre dental student,
I do not endorse this and essentialoils. Let's just say some people online
seem to think that they are greatfor curing super specific diseases. So I've
seen that I've seen like vaccines,I've seen that they can treat cancer.
That's crazy. Some people people arelegitimately convinced that essential oils can cancer.
(37:37):
I don't. I think chemotherapy.I think chemotherapy would work better. But
that's personally, that's just my medicalopinion. But yeah, we've got the
oils that they smell lovely, theydo, and they they they can bring
some benefits potentially. Science has hasshown that there's there's something there. Yeah,
so that's kind of it for thedelusion box. So the delusion box
(38:00):
being put away, Yes, myhead suddenly feels clear and crystal working.
So we've got the crystals, wegot the oils, and we did a
little bit of my chart. Whatwhat else is there here? We got
a couple more things to dive into. The last thing that we have is
the tarot cards. So the okay, rack I was going to predict my
(38:21):
I'm going to try so for thosewho don't know, Like, the tarot
cards are basically like there's like I'musing the Rioter Tarot deck, which is
like the original kind of like mostpopularized deck, right, but essentially like
there are these cards and each cardhas a meaning based on like what's drawn
and what's placed, and it's supposedto be able to sort of like tell
you things about yourself or your future. And what I've heard a lot of
(38:44):
people say, obviously there are peoplewho believe in this. Again to reiterate,
I don't believe in this. Ijust think it's fun, absolutely.
But what I've heard people say whoalso like kind of don't believe in it
is that it's nice to just sortof read the interpretations and sort of like
self reflect and so I think it'sreally interesting, like I would give myself
readings before exams, like it's it'smostly like just for fun. They're good
(39:07):
ways to like if you whip outthe cards and it says, this is
what you do successfully, this iswhat your future is looking like, we
think this is what happened in yourpast. It's it's a good opportunity to
like jog your memory and get youthinking about it. And it's like people
don't won't. A lot of peopledon't think about those things like unprompted,
So it's kind of like a goodprompt mental exercise almost. So I just
(39:31):
think it's interesting. But let's let'slet's see my terror. So also,
I'm I've given terror readings before becauseI have cards, but I'm like really
bad at it. She's given oneon me before I have, which was
a it was a while while ago, and I want to see how it's
changed. I'm going to move themicrophone a little further, just a tad
further back, so you can sortof get get your bearings. Yeah,
(39:52):
I'm going to be using the littlebooklet that comes with the cards to do
the interpretations because I am not strongenough to just like rott ong them.
But that that is so fair andI'm not like that practiced. But so
we're gonna do. We're gonna dothe past, present, future. So
that's just like three cards, Okay, So I'm gonna lay them out here
and I'm gonna have you pick three, and then what we do is we
(40:13):
sort of shake them afterwards and likesee if any other cards pop out that
are like drawn to you. Okay, oh they're down. They want me
Libra rising. Okay, so Ipicked first. You have to ask the
cards a question. Okay. Sowe have cards laid out on a table
and I have to ask some questions. So I know that I'm not supposed
(40:35):
to just be like, what's myfuture going to be? Like? Could
I ask like about what something specificin the future will be like? So
the cards the way we're doing itis like past present and future cards.
So I actually saw another podcast wherethey did a tarror reading, which is
really interesting because like it's two actorsfrom the show that I like, Cobra
Kai and Oh they like didn't reallylike not to say they didn't know what
(40:58):
they were doing, but like theykind of like they all yes, but
they know they didn't butcher it.It was actually really interesting. Oka Like
they obviously weren't like practiced tarot cardreaders, so I kind of was like
it'd be fun to do something likethat, but it was the past,
present, future, so it's likeyou have to sort of I'm trying to
remember what they asked. But itwas like, I think one of them
is like trying to start a singingcareer, so he asked about like that,
(41:19):
and it was like telling him like, oh, like you started singing
because of this or like whatever,So like, okay, maybe think of
like a topic in your life thatwe could like look into more like I
think last time you asked about radio. Yes, from what I recall,
I'm gonna go with another one ofmy passions here. I love to run.
I run, run, run likecrazy. So what I want to
do? I want to reach outand grab this card. Do I have
(41:42):
to ask before I grab the car? Go for it? Okay, I'm
grabbing a card. Flip it over, and I'm gonna I filped it over
before I read it. I'm soI'm gonna you put them on the table
here. Ok this keep that oohthe hermit? Okay, okay, So
now do you ask the question? No, you asked the question already.
Okay, so I asked the question. Now let me ask the question.
Let me let me think he shouldI continue to pursue running like strongly because
(42:07):
here's my thing is like, sometimesI want to train very hard for races
and try and set big prs.Other times I just want to run casually,
and I I feel like I coulddefinitely be a better runner than I
am and maybe get on some likecool races and try and place high.
But I have doubts like is itworth a lot of the time and effort?
(42:28):
So should I pursue it diligently?Okay? So I'm going to have
you draw two more cards. We'regonna say past here. So I've drawn
one card. That's two cards, and I'm gonna grab we're doing here?
This? This one's I got.My spidy senses are tingling over here.
Okay, so let's see we gotCan I read? Can I say?
What the Okay? So the here, I don't even know how to say
(42:52):
that. Hi, fan, thehermit and temperance okay, and then no
idea what that means I'm gonna beso for real, I don't know either,
but that's why we got the booklet. I'm also just gonna skip the
shaking because I feel like I'm gonnathrow them everywhere so far. So oops,
sorry guys. All right, sothe hermit and also the direction of
(43:12):
the cards matters. So for example, since this one's upside down, you
call it reversed, and it hasa different meaning. So okay, that's
what you have to make, right, Okay, that makes sense. So
the first one is the hermit,so this is the past and it's not
reversed. So the definition for thisone is prudence also and especially treason,
(43:37):
dissimulation, corruption, and roguery. That's interesting. I don't know how to
interpret that in regards to a runningcareer, right, I feel especially in
my past when I was a weemiddle school lad, how the Hermit with
do you ever rob a bank andrun out of it? Did? I?
Hey? You never know? Itgot crazy. It got crazy at
(43:59):
like middle school we were we weresome rabble rousers in there. I don't
know, but I feel like theHermit is also interesting just as a card,
because like that's like just it's verylike like did you like isolation?
You know, like isolation? Iguess isolation like when when I was I
mean I did this throughout my wholecareer. When I was running in middle
(44:20):
and high school, I would getvery very nervous before races, and I
wouldn't talk to anyone. So Iguess themes around, the themes around like
like competition i'd be I'd try andisolate. I feel like we're like stretching
this, this is an Olympic stretch. But I mean, how else am
I supposed to interpret that card?I feel like you should try to give
(44:40):
me a reading after this. Iwill definitely will have to work that in
sometimes. Okay, we'll get we'llget that going Okay. The next one
is the hero fant if that's howyou say that, and it's reversed,
Okay, this is this is good. I think it means this is present
present Okay, society good understanding, concord over kindness, weakness, concord concord
(45:04):
over kindness, kind of I don'tknow how to interpret that, Like maybe
over kindness is interesting. Weakness isalso interesting over kindness and weak and also
like society and the way it justsays society, it's just funny. I
don't know how to interpret that weeksociety. The last time we did this,
I was getting like much more specific, straightforward. Yeah, I feel
(45:28):
like the question is a little thequestion is a little not great. But
it's like I don't understand how todo you run because society tells you to
run? Do I run? Irun because I tell me to run?
So interesting, So I guess youfeel like you're weak. Do I feel
like I'm hey? Sometimes on thoselong runs, you better believe I'm feeling
exhausted. Okay. The last oneis Temperance and it's not reversed. And
(45:52):
this one, this is really interestingbecause you got all like main character cards,
like there's more cards that are like, oh, like the ten of
cups or like the six of pentacle. You didn't get any of those.
That's interesting, So I got allmain cards sort of. Yeah, but
this one says economy, moderation, frugality, management, accommodation. Okay,
(46:15):
I feel like management. A commodydid say accommodation, management, accommodation,
and moderation that hey, run maybework out in the future in moderation right
because that wait, okay, thisis the best one. I feel like
this makes This one makes especially forfuture the first two cards what those who
(46:37):
knows it? Also, it couldvery well be a skill issue on my
end. I am not great.I'm not great at picking questions for this.
This is my second time doing areading. I think that running in
moderation is huge because I will saythere are there have been some weeks where
I enjoy it so much that I'mworking myself so hard that as I try
(46:58):
and go on later in the day, I'm tired. Yeah, and I'm
not as productive. I like howyou turned like this astrology like terror reading
into like a sports discussion. Sportssports sports is your whole life, just
sports. I I that's just theway I twist. That's how I process
things, and I think that's howwe do card readings on this podcast.
That is how we do it onon Studio three thirteen Special edition episode,
(47:20):
That's how we do it. Yeah. So we've got the hermit, the
air, the hair of frame, whatever that is, and temperance, so
I will be careful to moderate.Maybe it's like you're going to pull your
like what's like something that runners get? A shim spling. I got those
when I was in cross country foryears. I have never gotten shin splock
(47:42):
in my very long run. Knockon? Would I have not gotten its?
Nuts? I don't intend on startyour whatever? Aaron rodgersol, I
don't know did what did Aaron Rodgershurt? I don't even I don't even
remember. But tear your a cO, tearing your a cl all running
would be crazy. That would beunfortunate. I don't even know how you
would mentioned. I don't know how. You You have to twip, not
TWI you have to trip in awicked kind of way. But that's we
(48:05):
learned a little bit about astrology, and I learned a bit more about my
personality because obviously the planet's determined reallyimportant, not the people surrounding me,
not myself, the planets, anythinglike that. Then we talked a little
bit about some some fun stones, what they symbolize, the purple, the
amethyst I really liked, and thenecklace that was cool. Necklace is beautiful.
They serve as reminders for kind ofhow to lead your life and what
(48:30):
kind of principles to follow. Theoils just smelled nice. I did those.
They smell nice, fancy Proviod's agood way to put it. If
you's in some of those bad boysaround the house, make a smell all
nice right lovely. The terror readingI'm not gonna lie. Not a whole
lot from there, except to understandthat in the future, don't work myself.
(48:52):
I'm gonna get so find some balance. Baby. So this has been
a very eye opening episode, avery a very special episode of Studio three
one three again Sidney Racau joining mehere from her lovely little apartment in Minneapolis.
Thank you very much for taking thetime to be here. This is
(49:15):
Deuce and we'll see you guys onthe next one. Bye.
