Speaker 1 (00:00):
Losing your baggage when traveling is absolutely terrible. But I
guess there is a group of people out there that
just don't care about some of their items never returning.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
Good morning.
Speaker 1 (00:10):
It's Joanna and Sean and we came across this article
and honestly, it's blowing my mind that people don't want
to claim these items in their suitcase.
Speaker 3 (00:18):
Yeah, well, it's not just expensive but also like super
weird stuff. Right. So there's a company called Unclaimed Baggage
and they take literal unclaimed baggage from airports. They resell
it so it doesn't end up in landfills, but they
release an annual found report showing some of the most
expensive and oddest things they have found in luggage. Now,
last year, over six hundred and twenty million passengers traveled
(00:40):
through the US with about you know that many people
traveling some bags are simply just not going to make
it to their destination. So they released their report and
here's like some of the oddest stuff that was there.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
And there's somewhere weird creepy stuff in there.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
Like a freeze dried chicken foot that was found in
some somebody's luggage. Change like the toilet seat. I'm really
surprised nobody claimed that nobody wanted the toilet seat from
their luggage.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
I guess not.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
I guess maybe the same person also didn't want their
teeth bedazzling kit.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
I didn't even know there were teeth bedazzling kits, but
I guess there are, and people don't.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
Care about them.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
Yeah, that someone's missing their glass eye. That wasn't claimed.
Someone had a script from the movie Goonies in their
luggage last year. I don't know why.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
That one's kind of interesting.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
I thought the the ice spiced chia pet it was
very funny. I guess maybe you know one hit wonder.
I wouldn't really care so much about that one either.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
I think my favorite on this top forty is the
silicone butt pads. I mean, I would give me some
silicone butt pads. I'd be very upset if i'd lost mine.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
Oh listen, I know those things aren't cheap. So you know.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
Some of these things, though, in terms of their value,
are astronomyic. Yes, and I can't believe you know, for me,
I never ever ever check anything in the back of
the plane that is of value. If I am bringing
anything when I travel, value it's in a carry on
with me at my seat.
Speaker 3 (01:57):
Yes, you know what, you don't want to let it
out of your sight. I've seen far videos of people
breaking into baggage. So some of the most valuable items
that were left behind include an eighteen carrot gold rolex
that was worth twenty thousand dollars that was left behind
by somebody.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
Even more expensive than that, though, the eighteen thousand white
gold solitaire diamond ring. Who puts a diamond ring in
their check baggage? But that was valued at thirty nine
thousand dollars.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
There was a Louis Baton handbag that was like around
nine grand or so some five I didn't know. Here's
the thing. I didn't know pants could get this expensive,
But I guess there were some very rare Levi's genes
that were around five thousand dollars left behind in somebody's
check luggage.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
Yeah, I think it's just astronomical. Again, these high price
items that people are just okay with, never you know,
being reunited with again is insane to me because I've
I've lost luggage and I've had items stolen from my luggage,
and luckily the airlines have been kind enough when I've
submitted my claim to reimburse me for those when provided receipts. Yeah,
so I would think these people, I mean there must
(03:06):
be so rich that they're not even taking the time
to file a report on this lost stuff to be like, hey,
my twenty thousand dollars Rollocks has gone, I need to
reimburse it.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
These people are so much they don't even care.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
I think wild The most expensive thing you'll find in
my look at Joanna is probably a beard trimmer. And
that's about it.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
What's that run new? You're not living sleep over that.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
Sonny Mornings with Joanna and Sean.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
I'm Sonny one six point five. Barbie is so iconic.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
I mean, she had such a good run with the
Barbie movie that came out a few years ago. And
you know what, the steam never seems to slow down.
But what about Ken, good old Ken.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
We can't forget about him, can't wait.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
No, not at all. Ryan Gosling really breathe the life
into that character. But we're we're now seeing, for the
first ever, first time ever, mattel Is announcing a Ken bassetter,
like a male celebrity that is, for the first time ever,
getting their very own Ken doll. Who you think that
might be?
Speaker 1 (04:02):
Well, honestly, well, first off, I will say this, I
think I think he ruined the surprise because I don't
think it's this person. But I thought it was during
the break. I thought Ryan Gosling, Ah, that would have
made sense.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
He played he played Ken in the movie.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
I think, you know, he's such a likable guy that
that would have been fitting.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
I think he almost looks too much like Ken already though,
that's the thing.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
Maybe, I mean that would be He was just so
good in that movie, right, you know, he is definitely
what was his saying, I'm what was then?
Speaker 3 (04:29):
Ken? I have a T shirt with them.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
He would have been a great ambassador.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
But I am going to guess because nobody tops this person,
this male celebrity.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
In my opinion, I'm going with the Rock.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
It is not the Rock. That's a great guest though,
fantastic master, and I thought it might be maybe one
of the other Kens from the movie. It is not.
It is Lebron James. Lebron James is the first ever
Ken ambassador. As you can imagine, his doll is taller
than a regular Ken doll would be, and it should
be by the way, so I guess he's sporting a
(05:01):
varsity jacket. He's got some Beats headphones, because of course
there's got to be some branding tied into this somehow, right. Yeah,
he's wearing some Nike Terminator high shoes. They look like
throwbag basketball shoes, like from Nike. I'm surprised they didn't
have him wearing Lebron James shoes. Okay, but you can
get it anywhere really, Amazon, Walmart, Target, like, it's everywhere,
But it's seventy five bucks. Though, seventy five dollars for
(05:24):
a Lebron James Kendall.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
You're paying for those extra inches.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
Yeah, that's got to be made up somewhere.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
Gott to cover the Cosman. The box is bigger, everything,
all the materials come on.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
Now.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
I mean, yeah, that's a hefty price tag.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
But Barbie and then like limited edition stuff always kind
of comes with that higher price tag.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
So yeah, I'm not too surprised there.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
But yeah, a larger kend I wonder how exactly tall
that thing is.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
You know what they say, No, it doesn't suck.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
Yeah, I'm just curious to see how much taller he
would be than Barbie.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
Hey, look if I guarantee that if they make a
rock Kendle, you'll be the first on list to get it.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
I would say that one's gonna be expensive too, because
like the buffness, the wider package up there.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
But I'm all in on that one, Sonny, one o
six point.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
It's a feel good Friday right here on Sunday when
I was six point five.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
Good morning. It's Joanna and Sean, and we're sure a
lot of you are just feeling good because of this weather.
Oh yeah, right now beautiful.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
Yeah, it really.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
Has, especially the night time.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
This is my favorite time here in Vegas. At night,
you just go in the backyard and just breathe in
some fresh air. We are sure that's what's gotcha feeling good,
but we want to hear the other reasons as well.
Taking your calls this morning at seven oh two seven
nine six one six five, Seawan, any particular reason you're
you know, feeling good headed into the weekend.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
Yeah, well, my my my parents joined us back here
in Las Vegas after we all left Mexico for my
brother's wedding, and tomorrow my entire family is going to
get up early and go run the Ronald McDonald's house,
running for the house five K so fun, that's a
good one.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
Could you get to wear those crazy socks?
Speaker 3 (06:56):
Yes, that's right, that the fun socks for sure. So
if any like to join us. I've shared this before.
My family has personally benefited from the services of the
Ron m'donald House, and that's going to be at floyd
Land Park tomorrow morning. You can still sign up right
now if you'd like to join my family and I.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
That's going to be awesome in a perfect weather day
for something like that.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
And I love that we have calls already coming in
this morning.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
No, Jessica's been waiting to share some positivity with us.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
Good morning, Jessica, how are you?
Speaker 4 (07:23):
Good morning, I'm well, thank you for asking.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
Well, it's a feel good Friday, so share that positivity
with us.
Speaker 3 (07:29):
Well.
Speaker 4 (07:31):
I had some new neighbors move in next door, and
they had a cute little girl and I would say
hi to her and she'd wun and hide behind her mother,
and I said, oh, this girl is so shy. So
what I did was I went home and made cookies,
and then I found some of my son's old old
like Doctor Seuss books and little books, and I brought
(07:52):
a little basket over to her and I said, this
is for you, and she hugged me. And she's hugging
me and.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
She thank you.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
That's sweet that you're a really good neighbor. Well you
know the extra distance.
Speaker 4 (08:10):
Yeah, but she's so cute. So now, whenever I'm out
shopping and I see like children's books or anything, I go,
I bet she and I just leave it like on
their steps. She knows it's from me.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
Oh my god, it's very sweet. Just rolled out the
welcome mat for them. I don't know if I could
get away with that. That might look very weird.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
Come in from me for definitely what weird coming from you?
Can't do it, Jessica. Sounds very sweet for Justica sounds like.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
I mean, listen, and you know what I love about
this story too, is that, Jessica, you're doing something nice
for somebody else, And look at that trickle effect.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
It's got you feeling good on this Friday.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
So maybe that trickle effect will continue down the line
and you're a good deed. Maybe somebody else out there
is going to want to do something good for a
neighbor this morning.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
I love it.
Speaker 4 (08:52):
I hope, so, I hope.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
So really cool thank you for sharing that this morning,
you got it. Happy feel good Friday.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
This is Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean on Sonny
one oh six point five.
Speaker 3 (09:04):
Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean on Sunny Window six
point five Las Vegas's best variety of the eighties, nineties
and today. So around this time every morning, we bring
you a feel good story and usually something local if
we can help it. And what's going on today, Joanna.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
So Vegas Stronger in the City of Las.
Speaker 1 (09:21):
Vegas a noun to the launch of a new campaign
that looks to slow down the rate of homelessness in
our community. It's called the Golden Ticket campaign, and it's
a voucher program that connects the unhoused population to food,
shelter and supportive resources. And there's great ways that just
the general public can get involved in this.
Speaker 3 (09:41):
So this is something that if literally anybody who wants
to can like pass out in the community, if they're
if they feel like they need to help somebody, absolutely, Okay,
So it's like a so it's an actual Golden ticket, right, yeah, okay, Okay,
So you know, if I see someone who looks like
they're in the and could use a place to stay in,
(10:02):
something to eat, I can hand them one of these
golden tickets.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
Yes, exactly it.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
And it's basically because instead of just giving money out
to those who are asking for it on the street,
city leaders are really wanting to encourage the community to
hand out these vouchers so they can get things like food.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
Shelter, and resources.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
Now, Vegas Stronger is definitely leading the charge here in
our community to end homelessness around the valley. I'm sure
over the years people have just seen the increase the
absolute need to get these people help and back on
their feet right, and sometimes they just don't.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
Know where to start.
Speaker 1 (10:34):
So to receive a golden ticket with all the information,
you would hope that maybe a little take advantage of it.
Speaker 3 (10:39):
You know, I don't really. I think we a lot
of us live in this cash list society where I
never have money on me whatsoever. But if I had
some of these in my car, I would feel like
I am more able to help people out if I
happen to see them outside, you know, if at a
stop light or an intersection or something like that.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
Exactly it.
Speaker 1 (10:57):
So if you are somebody who's also interested in handing
out these vouchers. You can do so by stopping by
Vegas Stronger during their normal business hours and we're gonna
put up all the details and all the information about
Vegas Stronger, so you can go get some of these
golden tickets to pass out. Like Sean said, and when
you're in your car and maybe you don't have cash
on you at Sunny Window six five dot com, just
click on Sunny Mornings.
Speaker 3 (11:17):

a clean dishirt? Oh no, but it wasn't that far
down like I could see it. So being resourceful as
I were, I growt up the vacuum cleaner. I sucked
it up like I put the tube ground and I
sucked it up so and there was like no damage
to it. Wow. I didn't move the ring, I didn't
(14:11):
damage it. It's all good in the world like that.
Speaker 3 (14:14):
Cheers to your ingenuity. I never would have thought to
use the vacuum cleaner to get my ring back, but genius,
it's back. It's in your possession.
Speaker 5 (14:23):
Yes, I do want to replace a ring, because that
would definitely cost a lot, Like.
Speaker 3 (14:27):

been a costly plumber's visit too, But cheers to you
and your ingenuity. That is incredible. Let's go to Carly. Carly,
what's got you feeling good today?
Speaker 5 (14:37):
Oh? I just found this awesome, cute little place to live,

Speaker 3 (14:50):
Rent, hold on a second. Just just just the first
month and you're done.
Speaker 5 (14:55):
Yeah, yeah, I'm well, not like I had to pay
every month after that, all of these and deposit and everything.
I didn't need to be.
