Speaker 1 (00:00):
Sunny one oh six point five, Las Vegas's best variety
of the eighties, nineties, and today it's Sunny Mornings with
Johanna and Sean. Our sunny story of the day, just
a nice, feel good story, always good when it's local
in today's is just that.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Yes. So the Las Vegas Science and Technology Festival is
returning for its fourteenth year. Now this means there's going
to be nine days of free STEM educational events and
interactive activities for school age children and their family Now.
The festival kickoff on April twenty fifth and will feature
over forty events throughout the city. So I think it's

(00:33):
going to be a really awesome opportunity for students and
families who are interested in STEM related activities because it
goes through May third, so lots of opportunities to take
advantage of these events.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
Well, it's pretty much our state's largest educational event. Last year,
over twenty thousand people participated in this thing. It is
free to attend. You just have to register online because
everything's based on availability and timing, so make sure you
do that. I love we had like a science museum
down where I live when I was growing up. It
was one of my favorite things to go to. I

(01:05):
didn't know this was even happening last year, but I
will certainly be going this year. I'm bringing my kids
with me.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
I know. It sounds awesome. Now it looks like there's
lots of different career fields that are going to be
showcased during that time. Everything very unique in science, technology, engineering,
and math programming. So lots of great opportunities to get
your children excited about future careers within STEM. And again,
we love a good free event, don't we.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
And by the way, the school if you want to
get your classrooms involved in this, the Clark County school
with the highest attendance at the expo is going to
get a one thousand dollars award from the Las Vegas
Science and Technology Fund. And lord knows our school classrooms,
our classrooms give you some funding.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
Absolutely, so they are encouraging early registration now, especially to
keep track of those schools. So if you want more information,
we are going to put everything up for you and
the family about the Las Vegas Science and Technology Festival
online right now at Sunny one of sixty five dot com.
