Speaker 1 (00:00):
So what was the most memorable opening night of a
movie that you ever went to? It's Sunny Mornings that
Joanna and Sean on Sunny one of six point five
Las Vegas' best variety the eighties, nineties and today. A
couple of weeks ago, the Minecraft movie opened up, causing
hysteria across the country. Teens were trashing theaterist police had
to get involved. Certainly memorial, I think if you were

(00:21):
in the theater. But before we take some more calls
on this, Joanna, do you have a very memorable opening
night of a movie that you went to? You know what?

Speaker 2 (00:30):
The one that sticks out the most for me. And
they are actually going to be celebrating twenty five years
this year because it came out in two thousand. But
remember the movie Remember the.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
Titans, Yes, with Denzel Washington. Ah, my god, with classics.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
Gosh, such a good movie. Of course, I was in
high school and it was the first movie I ever
went to with the boy.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
Oh with a boy.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Yeah, And it was in like even one of those
things where it was like a one on one date.
I mean it was like the entire high school, right
was like out at this movie on a Friday, night.
I'll never forget going to like Red Robin before with
like a bunch of people and then you know, we
all went to the movies. But it was like the
first time I like sat next to a boy in
a movie, and like the vibe was so good, So

(01:16):
I like had all the nerves of like teenage, like
you know, love in the air type of feeling, plus
like the excitement of that movie. And so yeah, even
though nothing like crazy happened, like, it's a memorable opening
night for me because it was my first movie with
a boy.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
I think so many people are watching movies at home
now on like their home theaters and streaming that I
think a lot of that that that feeling of celebrating
something with a group is missed out on a lot
these days, unfortunately.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Definitely, And I think with it being the twenty fifth
anniversary this year, I have no doubt that Remember the
Titans will probably make its way back into a theater now.
I would definitely try to make some time this time
going to that movie with my husband, of course, but
you know, just like going down memory lane with all
the good vibes from my high school era, I would
absolutely love to experience that over again, and I can't

(02:03):
wait to hear what other people have as their memorable
movie experience, and so I know Stephanie has been on
hold just a little bit. Good morning, Stephanie. Do you
have a memorable opening night movie experience?

Speaker 3 (02:15):
I do, but this is a little bit backwards because
I didn't actually go see the opening night of that
particular movie. So do you guys remember when the Barbie
movie came out?

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (02:25):
Yeah, yeah, okay, So everyone I know was getting dressed
up and wearing all pink yeah I hate pink, and
going to see the Barbie movie in droves. So my
bestie and I decided instead of getting dressed in pink
and going to see the Barbie movie, there was a
showing of Heathers and that's way more our speed, so
we decided to dress up and go to Heathers instead

(02:47):
of Barbie to kind of like put it in everyone's face.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
Heathers. That was like, what was I an eighties movie?

Speaker 2 (02:54):
Right?

Speaker 1 (02:54):
Was?

Speaker 2 (02:54):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (02:54):
Late eighties, early nineties I think, But it's all about
like teen inks and like murder Suicide and one of
the best movies I've ever seen, and it was having
like I think it was like it's thirtieth union or
something like that. Yeah, so we decided to get dressed
up and go as Heather's characters instead of Barbie characters
because we thought Barbie was a little too phony for us.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
Yeah, why not? A writer and Christian Slater were in
that one. Yeah, so what'd you wear?

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Would you wear?

Speaker 3 (03:20):
I actually wore a black mini blazer and matching skirt
with a blue like I don't want to say tank
top but camsol. I don't even know what the work
is underneath. I actually blue underneath shirt with matching tights
and shoes. So I was Veronica, which is the win
on a character.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Yeah. Yeah, very cool. Well that's kind of fun. Love that.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
It was awesome, way better than Barbie is a Barbenheimer weekend.
And you said, I'm not doing either of those things.
I'm not doing Oppenheimer, I'm not doing Barbie. We appreciate
anyone who beat marks to the beat of their own drummer.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
Yeah, how about it?

Speaker 3 (03:57):
Bang bang awesome.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
Thanks Stephanie for that memory with us.
