Speaker 1 (00:00):
So what do you think.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
Are you more romantic when you vacation with your significant
other than you are at home? Well, it looks like
vacations are a very important part of keeping the romance
alive these days.

Speaker 3 (00:12):
It's Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean on Sunny Window
six point five, and Joanna and I were just kind
of perusing the results of this new study where it
says that in a survey of two thousand married Americans
that eighty two percent believe that going on a romantic
vacation with their partner can reignite that spark.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
Absolutely no brainer.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
Yeah, in my opinion, sixty Apparently married Americans are sixty
five percent more romantic on vacation according to new research.
You know, so that's things like you know, handholding and
PDA has like a forty five percent increase than normal
than your day to day routine.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
I think there's something romantic in modern romance, at least
when you can just like let your stress go together
at the same time, meaning like listen, your you know,
home life hopefully is a good place to be. But
if you've got kids, you have financial commitments, work commitments, bills,
all that stuff always in your face. It's easy to

(01:13):
let the romance slip, but when you're on vacation, you
can kind of just let that stress go together. At
least that was my recent experience with my husband and
I went to Hawaii. I thought it was one of
the most romantic trips we've ever taken, and it was
so good for us, like we can I mean not
that things weren't bad before, everything was great, but it
was just you come back and you just feel more energized.

(01:34):
You just feel like you appreciate your partner more and
you want to be nicer to them because sometimes it's
like in the daily life, is not that I'm not
nice to my husband. I snap, we snap at each other,
like yeah, that's just life. But man, you can let
that go on vacation.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
I'd like to use the word over stimulated. Now you're
like annoyed, But I do think that in times we
can get over stimulated and lose lose sight of what
makes things important between the two of you. And definitely
it's also important to point to point out that in
this study they're talking about like a solo vacation with
your significant other's not a family vacation. So important to

(02:08):
try and squeeze those in. And my wife and I
have not taken a solo vacation since our kids were born, right,
so my daughter does turn six. Yeah, so that's kind
of an eye opener for me that maybe I need
to find a way, you know, have the parents visit,
hold on to the kids for a bit. We can
take a trip somewhere, even if it's just for a weekend.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
So important.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
This this study broke down what they said were the
most romantic activities according to couples and misstudies. Topping the list,
oddly enough, totally free to do watching the sunset together.
Forty seven percent of couples said that was the most
romantic way to spend a vacation.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Okay, let's see. I've got I've got a few that
I want to add to this list. I want to
see it. Some of the top answers, though, Okay, what else?

Speaker 3 (02:49):
Oh, okay, let's see stargazing twenty three percent.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
Okay, I like this.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
This is also near the top. Exploring a new place together.
That's one of my favorite things to do is just
go someplace you've never been and just find and just
learn about it. I love history.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
Sure, let me add two to the list, or maybe
they are on the list.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
I haven't seen it, but I'm gonna go ahead and
say this right now, nothing is more romantic than taking
a vacation nap with your significant other.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
Do you wake up from that nap? You feel good?

Speaker 2 (03:16):
You're like, let's go, babe, we can keep going throughout
the night, like napping on a solo.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
You know, couple's only vacation is so key.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
Not being together. Twenty percent couple said that was the
most romantic thing to do at the very bottom of
the of the list. This one made me laugh because
if maybe you're thinking you need a thrill to do together,
but trying an adrenaline filled adventure together like ziplining or
a hot air balloon ride at the very bottom of
the list. And it reminds me of a quote from

(03:46):
the movie Speed with Sandra Bullock and Karen Reeves where
she says at the end of the movie, because she says,
I have to warn you, relationships based on intense circumstances
rarely succeed, Right, So I was like, that's that's yeah,
you can't. I just think that a thrill is going
to bring you together.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
I was gonna say at least my point in my marriage,
my relationship.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
I don't need a thrill, I need a good meal.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
Like That's like I was gonna also add food to
that list, like when you can share, just like a
really good meal, maybe trying new food and not trying
new adrenaline rush based things. I feel like that brings
you together more in terms of romance than anything else.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
Yeah, but I think also interesting to point out here
that is, no matter what it is you're doing that's
going to reignite that spark, that spark apparently it will
fade after six days of returning home.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
Oh man, what.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
Do you mean?

Speaker 1 (04:35):
It doesn't last forever? Okay,
