Speaker 1 (00:00):
Taking your calls this morning on what expensive thing your
child has accidentally destroyed?
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Good morning, it's Johanna and Sean. Give us a call.
Speaker 1 (00:08):
It's seven oh two seven nine six one oh sixty five,
and we're talking about this because Cardi B. Has recently
made headline social media headlines in regards to something maybe
us average folks won't truly understand, but you know, it
definitely pains a millionaire.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
So her daughter culture who she shares with the wrapper
offset doodled, I will say, with a black magic marker
on a sixty thousand dollars perse.
Speaker 4 (00:36):
Itterly spent sixty thousand on this purse. Look what my
daughter did to my purse.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
So this was like I think it was a burken bag, right,
it was from.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
Hers ermeus yah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
So sixty grand. She ain't sweating that, I don't think really.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
When I first saw the headline clicked on this, I'm like,
oh my god, how bad is it?
Speaker 2 (00:54):
I thought it was actually a very adorable doodle.
Speaker 5 (00:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
Yeah, it's a little black heart on the on the purse.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
I feel like if I have that level of fame
and wealth like Cardi B, to me, that's like my
daughter's autograph and like I would wear it with pride.
Sean has you know you've got two kids. Is there
anything expensive that your children have ever accidentally destroyed?
Speaker 3 (01:13):
No, but I think they're close to it.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
Oh my gosh, that's pretty lucky.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
I've been very fortunate. My daughter has always she's never
really been destructive. I think the worst thing she's done
really is use a whole bunch of my wife's red
lipstick all over herself. That's her version of doodling. I guess.
Speaker 5 (01:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
But my son he's got this thing now where he
loves throwing stuff at the TV screen. So I am
bracing myself for the day when it's not like a
plushy that he's throwing and it becomes yes, exactly. So
that's what I'm scared of, more than being right now,
is I'm just praying for my TV screen not to
get destroyed.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Oh my gosh, Right, you're just bracing yourself, and listen,
I mean, your daughter just turned six, your son's about
to be too. I feel like it's pretty fortunate. Nothing
major expense has been.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
Destroyed my blessings for sure.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
Yeah, that's that's good stuff right there.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
I love that we already have people on whole to
answer this question. This morning, let's hear from Stacy. Good morning, Stacy.
What's that expensive thing your child accidentally destroyed?
Speaker 5 (02:09):
Oh? Yes, my husband was out of town and our
lovely our lovely sisters and us this cute outfit and
for our baby, and I wanted to show him naturally,
so we're on FaceTime, like through the desktop, and I
walk in to show him, I show him the outfit,
(02:30):
and our sweet baby vomit's all over my MacBook Pro
I had. I had just gotten it, like you know,
the m one ship, the retina display. This was like
my big splares of the year, and to this day
I am there like flakes under some of the keys.
(02:50):
Oh yeah, yeah, I like couldn't. I couldn't get it out.
And that was such an embarrassing trip to Apple, where
I was like, I don't even know that I want
to tell you. It's to this computer that I now
want you to fix.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
Genius squad, the genius bars, Like we're not cut out
for this. Yeah, you gotta take this Stanley Steamer.
Speaker 5 (03:10):
Oh my god, my job requirements. Oh god, it was
so bad. The cutest outfit in the world, but god,
I will I will never I will never forget.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
That was your husband like so confused on what was
going on on the other side of the camera.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
It's like, what just happened?
Speaker 5 (03:28):
Yes, she called me, and he still didn't believe it.
He thought I was kidding when I told him, and
then I literally had to FaceTime him from my phone
and show him the laptop.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
Definitely something you won't forget, no, right, a story you'll
laugh out now for years, right and so, yeah, that
was a.
Speaker 5 (03:43):
Four thousand dollars whoa.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
Let's say, you better tell that story a lot. Tell
that story a lot. Get your money's worth.
Speaker 5 (03:51):
I know, I know, Yeah, Apple, if you're listening, I
need a new mag book.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
Wow, thanks for sharing that this morning. Stacey Sunny Mono
sixty side.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
So what expensive item did your child destroy? Seven oh
two seven nine six one oh six five. It's Sunny
Mornings with Joanna and Sean and Joanna and I are
kind of laughing about this story that's been making the
rounds on social media. Cardi B's daughter Culture destroyed a
sixty thousand dollars perse.
Speaker 4 (04:20):
Literally spent sixty thousand on this Perse. Look what my
daughter did to my purse? Look what my daughter did
to my purse.
Speaker 3 (04:28):
She's being dramatic. It's it's a it's a little black heart.
It's actually kind of cute.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
I think it looks like an autograph from her daughter.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
And I was if I was Cardi B level famous
and rich, I'd wear that with pride and.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
Those And guess what. The thing The funny thing about
that is that bag is probably worth more now after
it's been autographed by her daughter. She could sell that
for more than she paid for it, that's for sure.
So has Brock, in his infinite cuteness, Yeah, destroyed anything
of yours that was expensive.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
Yes, and he's you know, he just turned three, So
nothing was nothing was ever done intentional.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
Yeah, it's just this I blame partially on myself.
Speaker 5 (05:06):
No.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
I love Christmas time and I full on deck out
the house and I have different areas of the house
where different collections that I've collected over the year are.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
Displayed, one of those being snow globes.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
Oh man.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
And if you're familiar with the brand, it's it's a
brand called Bradford Exchange. They're into like all that, like
that porcelain, like pretty Christmas decor stuff. And I have
a couple of snow globes from them, and one of
them is a Disney one. There would be times where
I Andrew, and I would be with him and I
would let him hold the snow globe and watch the
Disney characters spin around. And so I think I got
comfortable with the fact that, like we did that a
(05:37):
few times. That one time, you know, I let my
guard down a little bit and literally, in like seconds,
it was like I turned my head and.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
Yep, snow globe beautiful.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
I mean, listen, in my world, one hundred and fifty
dollars or you know, one hundred and some dollars is
equivalent to sixty thousand dollars for Cardi B. Like that's like,
you know what I mean, It's like one of those
things there's like, oh, hurt, but it's not going to
kill me, but it still hurts.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
It still hurts. It was a hot mess.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
Honestly, I couldn't fully find myself parting with it though,
like because some of the characters are still intact, and
so I just put in the box.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
I'm like, I'll deal with it next year.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
Yeah, I'll find a way to bring this back to life. Right,
let's go to Katie here on line too. Katie, did
your kid destroy something that was expensive or worth a lot?
Tell us about that.
Speaker 6 (06:26):
Yeah, my daughter, when she was not quite one, she
had a horrible split up problem, horrible And we were
at a wedding and dressed. Yeah, I was wearing a
dress that was a gift. And I would have been
(06:50):
even more careful and would have covered up, more worn,
something different, but it was the person who got it
for me was at the wedding and that I was
wearing it, and it was an amazing dress. And also
she had not spit up for I'm going to say.
Speaker 5 (07:05):
Almost a month.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
Oh wow, Okay, I thought.
Speaker 5 (07:07):
We were in the clear.
Speaker 6 (07:08):
Yeah, and she just just like all over like the
man you had.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
You had a winning streak going, and then the person
who gave you the dress had to watch it get
ruined in front of their eyes.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
Man, I think.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
Sometimes that happens, like when you know babies and toddlers,
they're in like new environments. It's just like triggers, like
different nerves. I had a girlfriend at my house recently
and she she's saying something very very similar. Katie said
her daughter had a split up problem, but hasn't been
doing it for forever, and right when she was about
to leave my house, she spit up everywhere. My girlfriend's like,
I swear to you, this hasn't happened in weeks, and
(07:43):
I'm like, it's probably just a new environment, you know,
a lot going on.
Speaker 6 (07:48):
I think it was probably very over stimulating. Just yeah,
a lot.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
So was the dress salvageable or was that the end
of that one?
Speaker 6 (07:57):
No, it was not, it was the end.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
It was the yikes.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
Well that's very relatable.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
I think a lot of moms out there can relate
with that situation. So thank you for sharing that with
us this morning, Katie, you bye.
Speaker 5 (08:11):
You're listening to Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
I'm Sonny one oh six point five.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
Every Monday deserves to start out with a positive good morning.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
It's Johanna and Sean.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
So what's that positive going on in your life or
what we like to call a little victory? Give us
a call. It's seven oh two seven nine six one
oh six five. If you are proud of yourself, you
want to celebrate something.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
We want to hear from you.
Speaker 3 (08:34):
I love I love this bit, I love anybody they
give me an excuse to find new music for the show.
Speaker 5 (08:40):
I like this.
Speaker 3 (08:40):
It always feels good. I love pulling up the little
victories music.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
I love it.
Speaker 3 (08:44):
My little victory is that I actually said hello to
Penn and Teller yesterday at our at the a Fan
Aids Walk that we were hosting, because last year I
was too scared to go and say hi. I got
but I actually got up the card to just say hi.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
I'm guessing Teller didn't talk back, right.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
Oh no, he didn't know. Bended all the talk.
Speaker 2 (09:02):
Keep trying on that one.
Speaker 3 (09:04):
You got a little victory.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
Oh my gosh for Monday morning. I don't know. I
survived the weekend. It worked three events, like it was.
It was a tough one. I mean, listen, I'm not
getting any smaller. I'm only getting bigger. So I think
any Monday morning that.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
I could walk into the studio these days with how
big I am from this pregnancy is a victory.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
Perfect. Well, that's true. I like that one. So let's
go to the phone here. We'll start with Jonathan. You
got a little victory. You're celebrating. What's that.
Speaker 7 (09:29):
Escap's getting fired? Probably I've been working on this presentation
for like five weeks now, and I accidentally deleted it
because I've put something in the recycling bin. Oh man,
I thought it was something else, and then realized I
couldn't find my presentation anywhere. I was searching, frantic for hours,
and then I finally look in the recycling bin and
(09:50):
it's right there. It's right there. I didn't empty the content.
Thank god, Thank Bill Gates.
Speaker 5 (09:56):
I don't know who.
Speaker 7 (09:57):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
Oh wow, I can't look. You've been working on that
for a week and probably in the office this weekend
two and I can't imagine how terrifying that was for you,
but me you could breathe again.
Speaker 8 (10:07):
You know, it's a good reminder too, that we have
to be careful when we do like a mass delete
or we're clearing out some space on the hot hard
drive or whatever, because you know, sometimes you mislabel something
like sounds like maybe you did.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
Just got to be extra careful out there. But we're
very happy for you, Jonathan, Go get them.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
Thanks, thank you, of course you got it. Wow, who
else we got here? Let's pick up this one. Hey,
good morning, who's this?
Speaker 6 (10:33):
Hey?
Speaker 2 (10:33):
This is Sarah Ah. We can already tell your smiling Sarah,
what's going on. You celebrating a little victory this morning.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
I am.
Speaker 5 (10:42):
I had jury duty, which I hate, and they didn't
want me. I didn't pick me, so I get the
rest of the day to myself.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
I will tell you from personal experience here, don't don't
tell anyone. I mean, don't go to work, don't tell
your boss.
Speaker 5 (10:55):
I know exactly.
Speaker 6 (10:56):
I'm definitely I'm gonna tell all them.
Speaker 5 (10:57):
I was stuck in there and so all day.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
It's like the best feeling ever when you don't have
to go in for jury duties. So please enjoy this
beautiful Monday, Sarah. We're happy for you.
Speaker 5 (11:06):
Yeah, I'm playing hooky pok.
Speaker 3 (11:09):
You've had a hockey out on Monday. I love that
long weekend for Sarah n Sunny Mornings with Joanna and
Sean on Sunday Window six point five, Las Vegas's best
variety of the eighties, nineties, and today. Joanna, I have
said on more than one occasion that this country is
built on small businesses and small business owners, and anytime
(11:30):
we can share some information that's going to help those
aspiring entrepreneurs, we like to do. So it's our sunny
story the day today.
Speaker 1 (11:36):
Yeah, and there's a lot of them out there here
in our community. Now, small business owners and entrepreneurs out there,
or maybe aspiring entrepreneurs are invited to the Nevada Small
Business Resource Fair that is coming up next Wednesday, which
is May seventh, from ten am until two pm at
the Sahara West Library.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
Now, the event, powered by the Nevada.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
Department of Business and Industry, is going to be a
free of event to attend, which we always love and
is definitely going to be a great resource fair to
help out small business owners.
Speaker 3 (12:06):
You know, as much as I love working here, Joanna,
I do think that working for yourself is ultimately like
the American dream, right building your own business. So maybe
you have an idea for a business, but don't know
how to start a business plan or like where to
start My my wife, for instance, is self employed, and
for years we've talked about whether she needs to be
incorporated or an LC or we don't know where to
(12:29):
start with that kind of thing. This is where you
go for all this kind of information.
Speaker 1 (12:32):
Yeah, and what's really cool, you know, May is National
Small Business Month, but that week is National Small Business Week,
and so you know, it's just going to be a
great time for entrepreneurs, potential business owners, current business owners
to really focus on ways to increase their business and
also of course support.
Speaker 2 (12:51):
The economy in which they serve.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
Now attendees will have the opportunity to connect with over
fifty government and nonprofit exhibitors, So a great networking event,
which is always so helpful, and.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
It's going to cover so much things like business structure, taxes,
licensing funding which is hugely important. Hiring. I've never hired anyone.
I wouldn't know where to start marketing. Look, if you
have any business questions whatsoever, this is where to.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
Be absolutely and hey you're hungry. I hear there's going
to be food trucks out there as well.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
Now it is a free event.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
Walk into are welcome, but they are encouraging online pre registration.
So what we're going to do right now is put
up all the details at Sunny Window six five dot com.
You just click on Sunny Mornings and that's where you
can find all of today's information.
Speaker 3 (13:34):
Wake up with Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean. I'm
Sunny six point five.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
So what do you think are you more romantic when
you vacation with your significant other than.
Speaker 2 (13:44):
You are at home. Well, it looks like vacations.
Speaker 1 (13:47):
Are a very important part of keeping the romance alive
these days.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
It's Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean on Sunny Window
six point five, and Joanna and I were just kind
of perusing the results of this new study where it
says that in the survey of two thousand married Americans
that eighty two percent believe that going on a romantic
vacation with their partner can reignite that spark.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
Absolutely, no brainer. Yeah, in my opinion.
Speaker 3 (14:14):
Sixty Apparently married Americans are sixty five percent more romantic
on vacation according to new research. You know, so that's
things like you know, handholding and PDA has like a
forty five percent increase then normal than your day to
day routine.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
I think there's something romantic in modern romance, at least
when you can just like let your stress go together
at the same time and meaning like listen, your you know,
home life hopefully is a good place to be. But
if you've got kids, you have financial commitments, work commitments, bills,
all that stuff always in your face, it's easy to
(14:52):
let the romance slip. But when you're on vacation, you
can kind of just let that stress go together. At
least that was my recent experience with my husband and
I went to Hawaii. I thought it was one of
the most romantic trips we've ever taken, and it was
so good for us, like we can I mean not
that things weren't bad before, everything was great, but it
was just you come back and you just feel more energized.
(15:14):
You just feel like you appreciate your partner more and
you want to be nicer to them because.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
Sometimes its like in the daily life, is not that
I'm not nice to my husband. I snapped. We snap
at each other like, yeah, that's just life. But man,
you can let that go on vacation.
Speaker 3 (15:26):
I'd like to use the word over stimulated now like annoyed,
But I do think that in times we can get
over stimulated and lose lose sight of what makes things
important between the two of you. And definitely it's also
important to point out that in this study they're talking
about like a solo vacation with your significant other kids,
not a family vacation. So important to try and and
(15:48):
and squeeze those in. My wife and I have not
taken a solo vacation since our kids were born right,
so my boy, my daughter does turned six. Yeah, so
that's kind of an eye opener for me that maybe
I need to find way, you know, have the parents visit,
hold on to the kids for a bit. We can
take a trip somewhere, even if it's just for a weekend.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
So important.
Speaker 3 (16:08):
This this study broke down what they said were the
most romantic activities according to couples and misstudied. Okay, topping
the list, oddly enough, totally free to do watching the
sunset together. Forty seven percent of couples said that was
the most romantic way to spend a vacation.
Speaker 1 (16:23):
Okay, let's see. I've got I've got a few that
I want to add to the list. I want to
see it.
Speaker 2 (16:26):
Some of the top answers though, Okay, what else?
Speaker 3 (16:29):
Oh okay, let's see stargazing twenty three percent. Okay, I
like this. This is also near the top. Exploring a
new place together. That's one of my favorite things to
do is just go someplace you've never been and just
find and just learn about it. I love history.
Speaker 2 (16:42):
Sure, let me add two to the list. Or maybe
they are on the list.
Speaker 1 (16:45):
I haven't seen it, but I'm gonna go ahead and
say this right now, nothing is more romantic than taking
a vacation nap with your significant other.
Speaker 2 (16:54):
You wake up from that nap, you feel good.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
You're like, let's go, babe, Like you can keep going
throughout the night, like napping on a solo.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
You know, couple's only vacation is so key.
Speaker 3 (17:05):
Napping together twenty percent couple said that was the most
romantic thing to do at the very bottom of the
vis of the list. This one made me laugh because
maybe you're thinking you need a thrill to do together, okay,
but trying an adrenaline filled adventure together like ziplining or
a hot air balloon ride at the very bottom of
the list. And it reminds me of quote from the
(17:25):
movie Speed with Sandra Bullock and Karen Reeves where she
says at the end of the movie, because she says,
I have to warn you, relationships based on intense circumstances
rarely succeed, Right, So I was like, that's that's yeah.
You can't just think that a thrill is going to
bring you together.
Speaker 1 (17:41):
I was going to say, at least my point in
my marriage, my relationship, I don't need a thrill. I
need a good meal like That's like I was going
to also add food to that list, like when you
can share, just like a really good meal, maybe trying
new food, not trying new adrenaline rush based things. I
feel like that brings you together more in terms of
romance than anything else.
Speaker 3 (18:03):
Yeah, but I think also interesting to point out here
that is, no matter what it is you're doing that's
going to reignite that spark. That spark apparently it will
fade after six days of returning home.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
Oh man, what do you mean? It doesn't last forever? Okay,
