Speaker 1 (00:00):
We oftentimes hear bad news about airports and flight delays,
but it looks like there is some good in the
headlines for a couple airlines. Good morning, it's Joanna add
as shot. And you know, everybody's got their preference on
which airline they prefer to travel on, but two are
really standing out right now.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
Yeah, So JD Power they do. They they're basically like
a global leader and consumer insights. I'm sure you've seen
all kinds of commercials for like especially cars when they're
like they won so many JD Power Awards. Yeah, but
they just did a big study on like a customer
satisfaction survey on the airline industry, and the two that
came out at the top of the heap for overall
(00:39):
customer satisfaction when it comes to economy and basic economy
seating was Southwest Airlines at the very top, followed by
Jet Blue.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
Nice well, Southwest always a very favorable airline for my
family and I personally.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
I wish I was still seeing viral videos of Southwest
Airlines hosts like wrapping and stuff at the front of
the plane when they were doing remember I used to
do that. There was always videos of these folks. They're
like singing or wrapping the instructions for like the seat
belts and stuffer.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
Yes, I know that's the type of stuff that you
like to see going viral with airlines is like the
incredible customer service. And speaking of Southwest, I don't know
if you saw this video that recently went viral. I
guess a customer who was checking in with Southwest noticed
that the air the gate agent was like really helping
this family out and like had a basket of candy
and went over to some unruly kids to help them
(01:30):
calm down. And this woman just went up to the
gate agent was like listen, like you are changing people's lives.
I can tell you do that every day. And the
Southwest Airline gaate agent started crying. You could tell she
doesn't feel like maybe she gets enough recognition. But yeah,
I thought that was really cool that someone at videoed
something heartwarming and good in terms of airline workers instead
of something nasty.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
That's it's always nice to give out the compliments because
people are always way quicker to criticize and to leave
a bad review somewhere than they are to like tell
a manager you.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
Did a good job, right, right, no, we needed more
of that.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
At the very bottom of these rankings, unfortunately, and you
could probably guess what they were already Spirit Airlines and
at the very bottom Frontier after that. And look, here's
the thing. I fly Spirit frequently because they are they
are cost effective. But I'll be if I'm being one
hundred percent honest with you, I find very little difference
with any of the airlines. What makes a difference for
(02:23):
me at this point is just this, how comfortable is
a seat I'm sitting in and how good is the
customer service from their flight attendant. That's about it, because
I feel like the flying experience in most ways is
pretty standard across. You're gonna get into a seat and
then you're gonna be there's gonna be no meal, and
you'll be charged for sex. That's all that it makes.
That's all it is to me. I take the cheapest
flights I can find, regardless of airlines.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
I'll tell you what I think. I mentioned this to
you back earlier in the year when we did our
big Hawaii trip, and it was the first time I
flew Hawaiian airlines, and it was the best airline experience
I've ever had. From the friendliness of the staff, to
the cleanliness, to the seat comfortability, to the food served.
I mean it was. It was really quite incredible. And
I know it's a very specific. Obviously you're only flying
(03:06):
that if you're going to Hawaii, but shout out to
that staff and anybody that flies on because they are
They go above and beyond, and I'm surprised they're not
even closer to the top because they are incredible.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
Let's get Hawaiian doing every domestic flight route.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
Imagine we need, we need like more like destination themed airlines.
I told you they gave you like Hawaiian snacks and
like food that you could only get in Hawaii, like
those like little touches go a long way.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
Look any airline, if they're giving me Macadamian nuts, I'm
booking
