a daily dose of positivity and as local as we
can often make that happen. Definitely the case with today's
dog loving story.

Yeah. So there's a nonprofit out there that's working with
the Henderson Animal Shelter on a new hybrid foster program
to help five hundred dogs over the next year. Wow.

So? The organization Hearts of Live Village, and they say
the innovative program will establish a flexible foster system so
community members can take in dogs awaiting adoption without the
long term commitments.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
That's usually one of the biggest obstacle courses for anybody
that's considering it, right, Like, I feel like we have
a whole lot of dog lovers that would be open
to fostering an animal, but don't know that they have
the time or I can't take them for a long time.
But this seems like a way to help these dogs
and give people the flexibility they need in their schedule exactly.

And I feel like everybody these days so busy, so
you need that flexibility. Now, foster caregiver can choose daytime
care in which dogs are dropped off at area adoption
centers during the day and picked up in the evening.
There's short term fostering that's going to be rolled out
where a dog can you know, be kept for a
few nights a week. You know, I think it's the
most important thing about fostering is that you get these

animals in like home environments and around people, so then
when there is an incredible family that walks through the door,
they're prepared to just do great in their new home.

Yep. And you know, it's something we've talked about doing
quite a bit. You know, my wife wants to foster
kind of older animals. I love that something that she's
really passionate about. But don't be don't be, don't be fooled.
The traditional fostering is still available to in addition to
all these other new flexible options that are being made
available through this program.

Definitely, and I definitely applaud anybody that can foster and
then and then bring the dog back to the shelter.
I usually fail at it. I'm a foster fail a
few times over. I can never send them back to
the shelter. But anybody that can You are angels right
